▶ 0:00 Thank you for joining us here at Mountainside. Uh thank you for wearing your masks. There’s churches right now that are fighting the uh fighting the battle for us that they can keep their churches open during the pandemic. So we want to follow the rules and cooperate. So we can come and gather together amen oh man what a great day it is Psalm 20:27 I’m going to say it again unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain who build it we want to be where God is in and what God is doing amen. This morning we’re going to start with a Psalm where the Lord is marching on now Peter and Jesus were having a conversation. And you guys remember this conversation.

▶ 0:53 Jesus says to Peter you are Peter which means rock. But on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Specifically. Those three words are so powerful. I. Will. Build my church Jesus Christ there is nothing that is going to stop Jesus from doing this. Nothing will stop him. There is nothing. God is on the war path and he is about to start moving forward and all you gotta do is get behind him this song says for the captain of the hosts is Jesus Christ he is our captain and he goes out to battle and to war with us and he leads the charge.

We’ve got to get behind him we’ve got to be the laborers in the field we’ve got to get his message out that word of God it is so imperative we were reminded this week talking to some some folks from outside and uh their their methods and stuff and we were reminded in the scriptures that it is God it is God who builds the church it is the Lord who builds the house it is not us. It is not us and we’ve got to get behind what the Lord is doing. Now it’s so important impaired I’m going to say it again Jesus Christ. Is going to build his church.

Amen so let’s stand we’re going to sing this song with authority and power because this is exactly what is happening today Jesus is marching on Jesus is moving on and we he is our captain he is the Lord of hosts and we’ve got to follow him with all our hearts soul mind understand we’ve got to follow him like warriors. Do we have any warriors today. Do we have any warriors yes let’s stand up stand up and worship our God we are warriors for Jesus Christ we’re gonna fight them out how many gonna fight the battle amen especially when he’s in front right yeah you can do it I can leap over a wall I can run against the truth when Jesus Christ is the captain and going before us amen see what’s under.

▶ 18:26 Foreign. In the Chronicles of the kingdom of God. A village that had a stream flowing through the middle of it that came from the mountain mountains. A spring that had mine. A stream that had help. And that village prospered. And that village would have celebration their flocks multiplied they would celebrate. Their harvest multiplied they would celebrate. The businesses. Multiplying and increasing they would celebrate they celebrated year after year day after day of having festivals having celebration and praise to the God of the heaven and earth.

▶ 19:27 But the drought came upon the land as village within. And the rain did not. Fall. And the other villagers who used to buy. Their produce and the flux of their herd and do their business. Cut down on their purchases cut down on the body. And when the village asks what’s going on they said we’re in difficult times we’re in pearl those times we’re in a drought we’re in a dry season. And so the villagers. Of this village by the waters began to listen to the voice of the other militants. And begin to say to themselves we’re in a difficult time we’re in a perilous time we’re in a drought we’re in a famine.

▶ 20:23 And they begin to cut back on their herds multiplying cut back on the plowing and sowing in the seed and cut down their harbors because people weren’t buying anywhere and when they did that they began to cut back on the festival on the celebration on the praise and honor to the God of heaven and when they cut back on the praise and the celebration and the festival the stream started getting smaller. And the stream kept getting smaller so finally there was no water in that stream. But the governor of that city began to understand what was going on and he went out into the citizens and said listen. That which brought the water we have stopped doing we need to get back to celebrating we need to get back to heaven festivals and thanksgiving unto the God of heaven that he would bless us again with the why.

▶ 21:30 They were the only ones that had water and now that water was gone. And the people he did and they even though they said to the governor. What is there to praise for but because the governor asked them to do it they began to go back to have a celebration for the least little thing that they had and that was their name was written in the book of life and we have nothing to praise and thank God and hold a festival and celebration for and then the name in the land book of life is all you need and they begin to have festivals and praise again and the rains begin to fall upon the mountaintop again and the snow begin to fall on the mountains up again and the waters begin to come down from the mountains up again and they had water to live by water to feed their flocks by water.

▶ 22:26 And even though the surrounding villages in that land kept buying very little from them they began to say well let’s sell to the nations around their land let’s give to those who have nothing let’s get this produce out to the nation and they took it to the nation and that village blessed the whole world oh church of the living God have you not read that I haven’t the praises of my people having not read that I surround you with songs and deliverance and people will come to the prizes of your writing you praise me I will arrive and they will be changed by my presence praise the Lord.

▶ 32:42 Got down on her hands and knees and reached out and touched the hem of his garment. The hymn of Christ. And virtue power. Flowed out of Jesus under this woman. And healed him what men could not do what governments could not do what religious people could not do. She humbled herself and reached out to Jesus and his power flowed into her and heals. And this same thing works for anybody in any situation. If you want the power of God. To come from Jesus to you right now let’s just lift our hands as a as a sign of reaching out to him as we sing this song and let his power flow into you whatever you need let his power come.

Lord Jesus we thank you this morning Lord just like in the days when you were spreading the gospel God Lord you were going around healing people Jesus freaked opening up their eyes opening up their ears the death floor the lame would heal God you were doing the great mighty word and Lord you’re preaching the kingdom of God Lord Jesus the disciples just had to decide we’re going to follow you God says you are doing something powerful and something great Jesus God would commit this morning to be like his disciples God who who followed you with their whole heart Jesus for they made mistakes that God Lord when you rose from the grave they became converted changed people God and we want to be like those disciples we love you Jesus your precious name everybody said amen amen let’s find our seats this morning.

▶ 41:17 I’d like to invite your pastor upon us to share a message from God’s word and God’s word is what changes us God’s word is what builds us God’s word is what exhorts us and everything good is in God’s word amen so let’s listen with the hearing here to hear what the spirit has to say amen yeah let’s give Christ another clap offering hallelujah. Where two or three are together together he’s in his midst but if he hadn’t manifested himself it doesn’t it doesn’t help us we need the manifestation of his presence don’t we hallelujah and he showed up today. Hallelujah. I don’t have much time so I’ll be introducing. This subject. Uh we’re going to ask ourselves the question of why many united states Christians have lost their will to fight.

▶ 42:14 Okay and uh I’m going to start out by an example of the old days explorers. Before the whole world was known. These old explorers. Are explorers of old if they wanted to discover. And experience. New lands. New people. New wealth new things they had to re-board the ship. They got to where they were at on a ship they had to reboard the ship and they had to leave behind the safe satisfying sensational experiences. Of past and present shores. To fight the new unknown obstacles. That lie ahead they didn’t know what light ahead they thought they were heading to india they had no idea.

▶ 43:12 That the americas were there and islands were there. And you know before we had understanding of the nations people were prophesying the end times that Jesus is coming and he couldn’t come because the word of God must be published what to all nations we didn’t even know there was other nations out there so if you want to get new experiences you’ve got to leave the safety of your past. Could that be an amen. The security and talking about you know I hear Christians always talking about fact I heard it this week they had one testimony and that was it. They never left the shore of that testimony to experience new things in God. Hallelujah how many want fresh testimonies yes we only do it by re-boarding the boat.

▶ 44:10 Hallelujah that old gospel ship you got to get on board. So we’re going to be talking about in this session six disarming doctrines. And. These doctrines. Take the fight out of Christians. The first one is. Government. Is under Satan’s authority under Satan’s control. At least 50 of Christians in America believe this false doctrine. And because it’s under Satan’s authority Satan’s control don’t get involved with government and don’t talk politics you ever heard Christians say I don’t talk politics well that’s because they think Satan’s in charge of government. Or they’re afraid of of uh.

▶ 45:07 Of uh hurting someone that has a different political affiliation okay and preachers are especially bad at it they don’t want to preach politics because they got democrats republican independents and all kinds of people in the congregation they don’t want to lose any so if they don’t say anything but how many you know we got to teach the whole council of God. Is that an amen said with authority amen. Yes my goodness so where did they get this cockeyed doctrine where did they get this well in Luke chapter 4 verse 5 the Devil. After Jesus had fasted 40 days and 40 nights. He took Jesus up into a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time then Satan said to Jesus who is God in the flesh. All this power will I give you and all the glory and the wealth of them for that.

▶ 46:03 Is delivered unto me. And to whomsoever I will I give it this is the doc this is the verse they stand on. Folks. If you don’t search scriptures for the whole council of God you’re going to build a destructive religion out of one verse. You’re going to build a destructive a destructive belief out of one verse. Okay. So what is the real answer to this well in John 19:11 for instance Jesus talking to the governor of judea Pilate and patel said you know I have the power to crucify you in the power to release you and Jesus said you would have no power over me at all if it were not given to you from where above not from Satan from where above from God.

▶ 47:03 Jesus knew who he was he knew who who’s in charge he knew he. Had rulership of the nations he is God in the flesh. Again remember in Daniel 4 17. 24 and 32 three times in one chapter God said the most high rules and the kingdom of men and gives it to whomsoever he chooses who rules in the kingdoms. God does not Satan Satan can only do what God allows him to do. Satan has to go to God to get permission to do anything. And if Jesus is your Lord he can’t bug you at all. He can accuse you he’s great at accusing you you know you could be perfect and he’ll find something to find fault with you isn’t that right yeah.

▶ 47:58 That’s what he does he’s an accuser. So. What’s the real answer to this verse John 8:44. Jesus is talking to the scribes and the Pharisees who said God is our father okay Jesus answers them and says you are of your father the Devil you believe in God but the Devil is your father because the deeds of your father you do you’re not doing the deeds of God you believe in him. But you’re doing the deeds of your father the Devil are you out there church now let’s continue he was a murderer from the beginning Cain was. Moved to kill Abel by by Satan you understand that see sin lies at your door God told Cain and his does his his sin is not a person his desire is for you but you must overcome it.

▶ 49:02 Hallelujah just because Satan has a desire to destroy your life doesn’t mean he can huh isn’t that a great isn’t that just a great scripture. Bring it on Satan hallelujah. Satan does not stand in the truth. Because there is no truth in him so what what Satan was telling Jesus was what a lie said a lie he was lying to God. And God Jesus in the flesh or God in the flesh Jesus knew who he was. And. He does not stand in truth there is no truth in him when he speaks a lie he speaks from his own he is a what liar and the father of it that’s why Jesus said you are of your father the Devil you are following his lies.

▶ 50:10 Amen. When we follow truth we’re following God when we’re following lies we’re following the father of lies Satan. Amen so we can get involved in government can’t we we can preach about government can’t we and Jesus is the king of kings and the Lord of lords duh. And we sing it we we quote it and then we say we can’t be involved in politics. And this disarms so many Christians they can’t get out there and do the fight. Because they believe Satan’s in control. Are you with me. Hallelujah. In 1954 the johnson amendment was passed. Prohibiting tax exempt organizations from participating in political activities.

▶ 51:09 Trump by the way is fighting this and trying to get it appealed hallelujah. You may not like Trump you may not like the way he talks and all that but this is a great idea see before 1954 the church was just considered exempt period. If you’re a religious body you’re under the first amendment and we can’t tax you we can have any control over you then johnson came in to take the voice out of the church because the Christians. Especially the spirit-filled Christians were standing up and talking about having righteous leaders okay and johnson was not a righteous leader if you know your history amen hallelujah so. Many churches.

▶ 52:00 Because of fear. Will not talk about politics. From the public. This amendment after all these years have never been challenged in the supreme court. It violates the first amendment. Yet thou shalt make no law of the establishment of religion nor prohibit the freedom thereof see he prohibited us talking about the whole Bible the third most topic in the Bible is government. Oh yeah and we got to talk about. Now. In acts chapter 5 29. The apostles were told to shut up and not preach the gospel by the leaders at that time and they answered and said whether we ought to obey God.

▶ 53:01 Rather than men you decide okay. And they went out and obeyed God they went out and started preaching again. Are you there folks don’t we have a commission. A scripture that says take everything he taught us not what churches teach what he taught to the nations. Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations teaching them all that I have commanded you not what some church commands but what he commanded us to teach amen and we got to do that we got to do that. Now. The second doctrine. That impedes and disarms.

▶ 53:54 Christians is this doctrine of resist not evil. Resist not evil ah I’m not going to say anything bad about the homosexuals I’m not going to say anything bad about the pedophiles I’m not going to say anything about about drug cartels or whatever resist not evil you know I’m just going to pray for them and ask God to you know. Turn them to him. And that about sums it up and where do they get this from don’t resist evil. It goes on to say turn your other cheek. Go the extra mile someone compels you you know go a mile go on two miles go overboard. Stop what you’re doing and do what they tell you to do.

▶ 54:47 If someone sues you at the law and takes away your coat give them a shirt also [unclear] coats all you want here let me have my shirt you can have my pant you can have my underwear you can have. Everything. Sell all you have. And give to the pool. And you will have life. This is the next biggest disarming. Doctrine in the church. Show me in the Bible where Jesus gave his coat and shirt to anybody. I dare you. Show me in the Bible where he gave one penny to a poor person.

▶ 55:39 I dare you. Like I said back in North Carolina I know my Bible. You need to know your Bible is that an amen. Don’t just believe what people tell you know your Bible. Jesus nor the apostles. Turn the other cheek Jesus did not turn the other cheek till he was ready to die on the cross when they wanted to stone him he used his authority to just go right through them when they wanted to throw him off the cliff he just again uses his authority and passed right through them he didn’t turn the other cheek okay throw me off. Stoned me when they wanted to stone him okay stone me I’ll turn the other cheek put throw the other stone didn’t happen.

▶ 56:37 Am I right. If you know anything about the Bible you know I’m right. Then you’re wondering what this scripture is about. Mark 14:7. A woman comes to Jesus. And she has an alabaster box. Expensive. Ointment. And she came in and said at his feet like we hear this morning like the woman with the issue of blood folks this message I’m giving you right now has priority over every doctrine of the Bible. This mess this statement I’m about to tell you. Has priority over every doctor.

▶ 57:30 This woman came in and she anointed Jesus for his burial and the apostles the great men of God said. This ointment should have been sold and the money given to the poor see they had the lopsided. Belief about the poor. That people have. Today. And the master Jesus God in the flesh said this to them. The poor you always have with you isn’t that what it says in the Old Testament the poor one ever sees out of the land okay let’s live with it I grew up poor it’s no big deal you’re just you don’t know any you don’t know I didn’t even know we were poor until I was 20. Because I lived in a great home and we didn’t have everything but we had food clothing shelter even if it was hand-me-downs and so forth we had a great home I didn’t know we were poor we ate beans and cornbread every day.

▶ 58:34 Help them whenever what you want you know you want to go and help the people go out and help the poor but don’t bother this woman who wants to meet with me. And meeting with Jesus Christ is higher than any doctrine you can build your life on. Jesus is the savior he’s the foundation stone of the church he is the captain of the host he’s the great I am he’s the alpha and omega he’s everything in between and what people need is a consistent constant meeting at the feet of Jesus and that virtue flowing out of him into them. And that’s worth more than any doctrine. Hallelujah. And my time is up.

To be a fighter and a warrior as they said today a warrior for Jesus Christ how many want to overcome this thing that’s binding you to keep you from being a fighter. ▶ 1:00:59 That river was the life source that river they had to give the other nations the other villages the water because they wouldn’t praise God they wouldn’t do what they needed to do to get the rain to come back but this village by the waters they changed their ways and stopped listening to difficult times in tribulation and perilous times and uh we’re in a drought we’re in a downtime no. This village. Gave the skimpy stuff to these who wouldn’t buy anything and they sent their message to the world and you can be that kind of Christian amen it’s the water it’s Jesus it’s the power. And we need to come into this church praising God and at home you need to praise God with us if I was watching at home I’d be up there dancing in my living room and worshiping God because he inhabits the praises of his people and when he comes he speaks he convicts and he changes your life from the inside out hallelujah people want to deal with the symptoms God wants to deal with the source wow that was good are you there oh we give a homeless guy a dollar we think oh I’m a Christian you need to get to the source of his problem the inner man and make him a new creature. Hallelujah. And I gotta shut my mouth.
