In “When the Field Won’t Respond Part 1,” Pastor David G. Kincer teaches from Ezekiel 2 on what a Christian is to do when immoral, sinning believers will not listen: do not be afraid of them, do not be dismayed by their looks, speak God’s words rather than your opinions, and take in the judgment Scriptures along with the encouraging ones. He gives examples from a protest he attended, urges Bible studies that ask what God is saying, and says ministers, politicians and church members bend Scripture to keep votes, members and benefits.

What should a Christian do when people who should know better won’t listen?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: He says God sent Ezekiel to a rebellious people and told him to speak whether they listened or not. He teaches that “we got to speak anyway,” because the charge is to speak, not to guarantee a response.

▶ 0:00 What do we do when the harvest field is unresponsive, impossible to reach, they won’t respond? What is a Christian to do? Sound like a good question? Yeah. So we’re going to begin with: what if immoral believers will not listen? Okay, we’re not even going to talk about unbelievers here. What if immoral believers that are sinning, what if they will not listen? Ezekiel 2:3-5. God comes to Ezekiel after showing Ezekiel the likeness of the glory of the Lord in chapter

Scripture (NKJV)

Ezekiel 2:3-5 (NKJV)

And He said to me: “Son of man, I am sending you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have transgressed against Me to this very day. For they are impudent and stubborn children. I am sending you to them, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’ As for them, whether they hear or whether they refuse—for they are a rebellious house—yet they will know that a prophet has been among them.

— Ezekiel 2:3-5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:00

Why does he say God’s presence comes to say something and not just to feel good?

▶ Watch this part (0:52)

Short answer: He says that when the presence of God comes, “He comes to say something, not to just make you feel good,” so we have to hear what He has to say. He applies this to Ezekiel, whom God sends to the children of Israel, a rebellious nation.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:52 1. And everybody likes to preach on that, but we’re going to just remind you that it’s there. We’re not in the likeness of the glory of the Lord. The Bible says that the glory of the Lord shall cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. His glory, His presence has been predestinated to be upon those who seek Him and worship Him. But as I’ve told you for 40 years, when the presence of God comes, He comes to say something, not to just make you feel good. And I love the feeling of His presence. How many like to feel that presence of God? It’s beautiful. Yeah, it’s just beautiful. But you know, we got to hear what He has to say. And so He says to Ezekiel, “I’m sending you to the children of Israel, a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me.” Okay, He’s [unclear] them. And see, Ezekiel came into captivity about 5 years after Daniel did.

Why was Ezekiel sent to a rebellious people who would not listen?

▶ Watch this part (2:00)

Short answer: He says God sent Ezekiel to the Jews in captivity who were being corrected for their sins and were still rebellious, disrespectful and stubborn. God said they would know a prophet had been among them whether they listened or not, and so Ezekiel had a charge to speak anyway.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:00 The second captivity came and Ezekiel went into captivity. Now Daniel was ministering to the Babylonians, but Ezekiel God sent to the Jews that were in captivity, being corrected for their sins. Okay, number one, they are a rebellious nation. They are disrespectful. They are stubborn. Wow, sound like anybody you know? “I send you to them, saying, ‘Thus saith the Lord.’ Whether they hear or whether they refuse to hear, they are a rebellious house.” Okay, so He’s sending, He’s describing God’s people in captivity being punished for their sins, and they’re still rebellious. They’re still disrespectful.

▶ 3:02 They didn’t learn their lesson. He says, “They will know that a prophet has been among them,” whether they listen or not. They’re going to know a prophet has been among them. Now we see here that Ezekiel was given a charge, a responsibility, to speak to the immoral believer anyway. Hallelujah. “Well, they’re not going to listen, so I’m not going to say anything.” No, we got to speak anyway. He’s given a commandment, He’s given a charge, He’s given a mission to speak to them anyway, whether they listen or whether they don’t.

What are the “two harvest fields” in this message?

▶ Watch this part (3:55)

Short answer: He says unbelievers (the Babylonians) were reached by Daniel and others, while Ezekiel was sent to God’s hard-headed, hard-hearted people. This message is about the second field: sinning believers.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:55 Okay, now there are two harvest fields, remember. The unbelievers were being reached by Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Esther, [unclear], other people. They were reaching the Babylonians. But Ezekiel was sent to God’s hard-headed people, hard-hearted people. Have you ever met one? Yeah. Just look in the mirror. Just look in the mirror and look real close and you’ll see one. We think we know it all and we know nothing at all. Right. Now, the requirements to preach to a hard harvest field of immoral, sinning believers. Remember, this message is a synonym to the

Why does he say not to be afraid of people who reject the message?

▶ Watch this part (4:50)

Short answer: From Ezekiel 2:6-8 he gives number one: do not be afraid of them. He says many Christians are afraid of offending people or of their retaliation, and that “courage replaces fear.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:50 believers. Okay, number one, in Ezekiel 2:6-8, number one: do not be afraid of them. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be scared of these people. So many Christians are afraid of offending, or afraid of the retaliation of, homosexuals, adulterers, pedophiles, incest people, those that use abortion as a contraceptive, those that get intoxicated, and drug users. 177,000 people die and millions get hurt by drugs each year. 450,000 people die from tobacco-related deaths. Okay, 1.3 million babies are aborted just because they’re using it as a contraceptive, not because there’s a real need. 85,000 people die every year in America from alcohol-related deaths, plus all of the millions of injuries that come from it, and the billions of dollars spent in each area correcting the

▶ 6:05 problem. 30,000 die in America every year from sexually transmitted diseases, and over 50% of Americans have a sexually transmitted disease or have had one. And we’re afraid we’re going to offend them, or they’re going to retaliate, not be our friend anymore, or beat us up or whatever. And Ezekiel is told, don’t what? Be afraid. Don’t be scared. How many could use some courage in your Christian walk? Yeah. See, courage replaces fear. You don’t even think about retaliation and offending. Number two: nor be afraid of their words, or I’m sorry, that’s part of number one. Don’t be afraid how they talk. Number two: don’t be

Scripture (NKJV)

Ezekiel 2:6-8 (NKJV)

“And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house. You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious. But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”

— Ezekiel 2:6-8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:50

What does it mean to speak God’s words and not be dismayed by how people look at you?

▶ Watch this part (6:59)

Short answer: He says number two is not to be dismayed by their looks, and number three is to speak God’s words, the truth. He describes a protest he attended, says he was attacked at first, and says he told the people there that their claims, such as being born that way, are a lie.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:59 dismayed by their looks, the way they look. See, when I protested against the homosexuals last year at Chick-fil-A, I told them the truth. You know, they gave me the looks. They attacked me when I first went, and then they realized the cameras were on them and they backed off and became real perfect gentlemen. But number three says: speak My words to them. Speak the truth. I just told them the truth. I told them that homosexuals are liars. You know, they say they were born that way. There is no homosexual gene. Scientifically, it has not been found. Scientifically, it can’t be done. It’s a lie. They say that animals, hundreds of animals, have homosexual tendencies. When I looked at their proof, it was a joke. Two horses rubbing against each other in a pasture. That’s what horses do. They’re not putting the penis in the anus of the other animal. There’s a big difference. Are you with me? They’re lying. I told them, you guys are

▶ 8:12 liars. And they say that the Bible’s a book of myths. They said it right there, right in front of the cameras, and the Bible’s a bunch of bull [unclear]. That’s the words they use. They say the Bible’s for slavery, and so does President Obama and liberals. And I’ve showed them in the Bible where it can’t be for slavery, because you cannot kidnap anyone, and they ignore me. If you cannot kidnap a person and force them to do your will, how in the world are you going to make a slave out of anybody? Can I hear an amen? Yeah. See, they read the Bible the way they want to read it to put lies across, to get dumb Christians. They’re dumbing down believers that don’t follow on to know the word.

What does he say about people twisting Scripture, such as eating shrimp or Sodom and Gomorrah?

▶ Watch this part (9:00)

Short answer: He says people read the Bible the way they want in order to put lies across. He says the shrimp law was a shadow pointing to the righteousness God required through Christ, and that the Bible is plain that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of their sin.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:00 And they get them on their side. They say you can’t eat shrimp or you get stoned for it. That’s a lie. No one in the Bible got stoned for eating shrimp. It was a shadow law pointing to the righteousness that God required through Christ, because when Christ came, He empowered us, and the Bible plainly says in the New Testament that you can eat what you want. You see, but see, they lie, and they get dumb Christians believing these lies. They say that Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed for lack of hospitality, not sodomy. That is a lie. The Bible’s very plain that they were destroyed because of their sin, and one of the biggest sins in Sodom at that time was sodomy. Homosexuality. Come on, stop twisting. You guys lie. And I got to say that to them in front of all the

What did he tell the cameras about breaking a moral law?

▶ Watch this part (10:01)

Short answer: He says he told the newscasters that when we break a moral law it is a crime, that homosexuality is immoral, and that in his view such people “should be punished for it, disciplined for it, fined or something, not put on display for everybody to imitate.” He adds that the news did not repeat what he said. This is the speaker’s own strongly stated opinion.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:01 cameras. You know, NBC was there, all the TV stations were there. I got to tell them. But you didn’t see me getting repeated on the news, everything I told them. The news just uses what’s good for them, what they like. Hallelujah. I told them that homosexuality is criminal, it’s a crime. And the newscasters, the camera people, they came up and said, “What do you mean by that?” I said, “When we break a moral law, it is a crime, and homosexuality is immoral, and they should be punished for it, disciplined for it, fined or something, not put on display for everybody to imitate.” Right? We don’t put the pedophiles on display. We don’t put incest people on display. Why are we letting these homosexuals get on TV and public places and everything like it’s normal and not a crime? It is a crime. Amen. See, we got to preach the word of the Lord. And yeah, they didn’t like it, and yeah, they got mad at me, and yeah, they attacked me at the beginning, till the leader got them in control. And I know why they did it, ’cause they attack me all the time. But when that camera comes, they are the nicest, most mannered people you can’t believe, because they don’t want the real attitude coming out.

Should we speak God’s words or our own opinions?

▶ Watch this part (11:32)

Short answer: He says to speak God’s words, “not your opinions, not what you believe.” He says God cares that you believe what He believes, and that we must change our thinking when it doesn’t line up with His.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 11:32 Hallelujah. Speak My words, not your opinions, not what you believe. God doesn’t care what you believe; He cares that you believe what He believes. And we got to change our belief, and we got to change our thinking when it doesn’t line up with His. “Whether they hear, whether they refuse, for they are a rebellious house. But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like the rebellious house.” Don’t follow their ways. Don’t accept their speech. Don’t accept their behavior. Don’t follow their ways. And this is what’s happening in America today: dumbed-down Christians, because they really don’t get into the Bible and seek God. Don’t know the Bible, and they let these famous authors and these famous mega-church pastors tell them what God is saying, and they’re not telling them what God is saying. They’re telling them what they believe. And so now we got a generation of Christians in America that don’t know the word of God, and so they’re speaking their opinions, they’re speaking their beliefs, not the word of

Can we bend the Scriptures to get a loved one into the kingdom?

▶ Watch this part (12:50)

Short answer: He says no: there is one way into the kingdom, through Christ, and you can’t bend the scriptures to get a family member or friend accepted. He says a father who loves his child will discipline and correct him, and the spiritual Father does the same.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 12:50 God. Hallelujah. How many want to be able to speak the word of God? Yeah. Doesn’t matter what your opinion is, especially if you got one of these criminals in your home. You want to bend the scriptures to get them into the kingdom, and folks, there’s no way to get into the kingdom but one way, and that’s through Christ. You can’t bend the scriptures to get accepted into the kingdom because you got a family member that’s bad and you want to justify their badness. Did you understand that? Or you got a friend and you want to bend the rules for them, using the phrase “God is love, God is love.” Yeah, He does, and the Bible says that a father that loves his child will discipline him and correct him to spare him from death and destruction. That’s a natural father. How much more will the spiritual Father discipline us and correct

Why does he say we should not be afraid of the judgment Scriptures?

▶ Watch this part (13:51)

Short answer: He says the scroll Ezekiel was told to eat was written with judgment, mourning and woe, because there is a judgment of God. He says God corrects us now, and if we do not get corrected, He will correct us for eternity.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:51 us. Now number five, verses 9 and 10: eat the scroll of the book. He gave him a scroll of the book written on both sides, and it was written not with Disneyland scriptures, not with positive scriptures. It was written with the judgmental scriptures of lamentations, mourning, woe, wailing, sorrow. Why? Because there is a judgment of God. And when we don’t follow righteousness, God will, in our day and hour, bring things to correct us, and if we don’t get corrected, He will correct us for eternity. And Americans are afraid to preach the judgment anymore. I got hit with it several times last year, witnessing to these religious

▶ 14:52 Christians, and I had to tell them, “You’re going to hell.” I had to tell them, “Sir, you’re going to hell.” Nobody talks like that. The Bible talks like that. Why are we so afraid of the judgment scriptures? Why are we so afraid of 1 Corinthians 11 when he says there’s many weak and sickly and dead before your time among you because you don’t recognize the body of Christ? That’s a judgment scripture to believers who are weak, who are sick, and who die before their time because they do not learn and recognize the body of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is His church. Are you there? Did Jesus preach about eternal punishment? Yes, He did. Did Jesus tell those that were sinning, “Go and sin no more, lest something worse come upon you”? The man was totally [unclear]. Something worse come upon you. Why? God will correct you now, and if you don’t turn around, He’s going to correct you for eternity. You don’t hear that kind of preaching anymore, and so there’s no fear of God in America. Everybody’s going to heaven. I’ve done almost a hundred funerals, and I never heard anybody say that person’s going to

What kind of Bible study does he say we need?

▶ Watch this part (16:19)

Short answer: He says we need Bible studies where somebody lives the word and knows how to preach it, and where the question is “What is God saying?” rather than what we think. He says he hated studies that only ask what people think about a verse.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:19 hell. They were all goody [unclear]. I swear, I couldn’t believe it. And I knew a lot of these people through other acquaintances of theirs. But no one wants to confront the fact that you’re going to burn for eternity in the lake of fire because you didn’t repent of your sin. Hallelujah. And folks, we need to get into Bible studies, we need to get in Bible studies where somebody lives the word and knows how to preach the word, and if they aren’t living the word, they preach the word so that tomorrow they can live the word. They might not be living it all right now, but they’re preaching it, and when you do that, you will get to the place where you’re living the word. Is that an amen?

▶ 17:11 Yeah. But you know, we had home Bible studies in America. Now they just get a book out and they go through this book, “Well, what do you think about this verse, and what do you think about this?” Who cares what you think? What is God saying? Amen. I’m not interested in what you think. I hated those kind of Bible studies. I would come to hear what God was saying, and a good teacher can tell us what God is saying. Bible-moral people are not afraid, discouraged by, nor imitate opponents of truth. Isn’t that a good statement? You see this banner up here? This is what’s going to be on our world [unclear] morality page. We want to bring it to the world. The whole issue is about [unclear] morality, and Christians need to wake up to the fact that they’re supposed to be living moral

Should Christians apologize for speaking about God’s judgment on immorality?

▶ Watch this part (18:12)

Short answer: He says the focus and goal of God is that you live right and speak right, and that when you make mistakes you repent and keep going rather than twisting the scriptures. He says moral people “do not apologize for speaking about the judgment of God on immorality.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 18:12 lives. And I don’t care how you were baptized. Amen. I don’t care if you speak in tongues, or I don’t care if you don’t even believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, which is awful when it’s clear in the Bible. The focus and the goal of God is you live right and you speak right, you bridle your tongue and you bridle your body. Is that an amen? Those of you who read the Bible, isn’t that the truth? Yeah. And you know, you make mistakes along the way, you repent, you get up, you keep going. You don’t justify it by changing and twisting the scriptures around. Bible-moral people do not apologize for speaking about the judgment of God on immorality. Is that a good whoopy statement? Yeah. We don’t have to

Can you be a light to the world without speaking about your faith?

▶ Watch this part (19:04)

Short answer: He says no: if you are to be a light, people have to see you living for God and hear you speak it, and he notes that God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe. He gives Isaiah 30:10 as an example of people asking for smooth things instead of right things.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:04 apologize. I don’t have to say, “I don’t wear my religion on my sleeve.” If I’m going to be a light to the world, they’re supposed to see you. You know, these politicians, I hate it: “I don’t wear my religion on my sleeve.” Well, how you going to be a light to the world if they don’t see you living for God, and you don’t speak it? And He’s still chosen the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe. So they got to see and they got to hear. All right. It says in Isaiah 30:10, “Do not prophesy to us right things.” These are the people. Isaiah came, it’s a powerful book, Isaiah is very powerful. Why does he say people bend Scripture to keep votes and benefits?

▶ Watch this part (20:11)

Short answer: He says some politicians bend the scriptures to get votes and stay in office, and some church members do it to get entitlements. He gives his own view that many Christians are too ignorant of God’s word to speak up. These are his personal political opinions.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 20:11 little. And that’s where America is. “Don’t tell us the truth. We don’t want to feel bad about our lifestyle, about our speech.” And so-called Christian Democrats, so-called Christian liberals, humanitarians, Republicans, humanists do this to get votes so they can stay in office, and Christian citizens do it so they can get the entitlements. “Let’s just bend the scriptures a little bit.” Am I right? Oh yeah, the liberals are horrible. It’s bad. America only has 20% liberals and they are controlling the colleges, they’re controlling the media. It’s just horrible what’s going on. And Christians

▶ 21:11 everywhere are so ignorant of God’s word, they don’t know how to speak up and stand for right. They vote Democratically, they’ll vote for [unclear] Republican. Romney was a lousy Republican. He violated every moral thing that was in the political arena, but Republicans are so blind they don’t want to see it. They want to hope. The only reason I voted for Romney was because of his stand for free enterprise. That’s all he had to me. He failed in every area, his Christianity, his religion is horrible. I mean, if you read about Mormons, that’s just no good. I don’t care what they say, any idiot can figure that out. Are you with me? But see, we don’t want to stand up for truth. We want to, you know, apologize to everybody.

Why does he say some ministers soften the message?

▶ Watch this part (22:07)

Short answer: He says some ministers do it to keep their ministry and get members so they can get rich on tithes and offerings. He says Paul and Peter were beaten, stoned and put in prison because they spoke truth, and that speaking truth will get people disliking you.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 22:07 No, it’s the word of God that’s going to set people free and heal people. And Christians, they want this welfare, they want all these goodies, and so they’re going to do it too. Ministers, Christian ministers, do it to keep their ministry, get members, so they can get rich on God’s tithes and offerings. That’s the motivation. I’m sorry, that’s exactly the motivation, and that’s what the prosperity and faith camp is all about: success. You’d never think that Paul and Peter and these guys were ever beaten, stoned, and put in prison. Are you there? Because they spoke truth. You speak truth, you’re going to get people disliking you. Let me tell

▶ 23:02 you, one guy was going to beat me up last year, but another guy there says, “You keep calm.” Yeah, they get mad when you tell them the truth. “You behave yourself.” And yeah, Christians seek phony ministers who will agree with their immoral lifestyle.
