Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer teaches what the Holy Spirit requires—Bible morals in leaders, God’s pattern for church services, courage to expose sin, and repentance to keep the Spirit—and what he promises: the Spirit on the Messiah, the Spirit within us causing obedience, graves opened, dreams and visions, and a latter-day glorious church before Christ’s single return.
Who baptizes in the Holy Ghost, and who can receive?
Short answer: Mark 1:8: Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost—he is more than a Savior. Acts 2:17: God pours out his Spirit on all flesh, so if you have a body you are a candidate.
▶ 0:00 In mark. 1 8 he Jesus shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost so who does the baptizing. Jesus okay. How many of you believe in Jesus. Okay that Jesus that your savior is also the baptizer in the Holy Ghost. Don’t just leave him as a savior is what I’m telling you he is more than a savior in Acts 2:17 I will pour out my spirit on all flesh not just 12 apostles not just you know 50 or 60 prophets in the Old Testament I’m going to pour out my spirit on all flesh that include you if you’re here this morning and you have a body. You may have pimples on it. You may have fillings in your teeth uh you may have some defects but if you’re in the flesh you’re a candidate.

Mark 1:8 (NKJV)
I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
— Mark 1:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:00Acts 2:17 (NKJV)
‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
— Acts 2:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:29What does “excess” mean in Ephesians 5:18?
Short answer: Ephesians 5:18: be not drunk with wine wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit. He says “excess” means incurable destructive behavior, not too many drinks; drinking opens you to immoral behavior. Let scripture interpret scripture. Romans 8:14: those led by the Spirit are sons of God.
▶ 1:00 To be a recipient of the pouring out of the Holy Spirit notice the verbs baptize saturate. Pour out Ephesians 5:18 be filled with the spirit don’t be intoxicated with wine whereas in excess and the problem with Christians is they try to interpret the scriptures. To benefit their own opinion and their own thinking. In this verse they say well excess means drinking too much. You see so I can handle one beer but if I get two beers that’s excess I can handle a shot of tequila but if I drink a pint of tequila that’s excess the word excess does not mean that at all the word excess there means an incurable.
▶ 1:55 Destructive. Behavior. And that’s what happens to people who give themselves to alcohol and drugs. Even the rehab places only have a seven percent success rate. And it is sad that Christians take scriptures and twist them around that we can drink and drinking the Bible says opens you up. To immoral behavior. It lowers your standards. And it’s even in the pentecostal spirit-filled churches and in this verse he is talking about the Holy Ghost and he is comparing it to. Intoxication. Be filled with the spirit singing and making melody in your heart unto the Lord and Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs teaching and admonishing one another.
▶ 3:01 You got to be careful interpreting scriptures yourself you must allow the scriptures to interpret scriptures amen. Romans 8:14. All that are led by the spirit of God are sons of God people say just off the cuff I’m a son of God oh really. Are you led when you get up in the morning till you go to bed at night are you following the Holy Spirit and what’s his first name. Holy what’s his second name spirit. What’s the third part of his name. Of God. The Holy Spirit of God is God holy.

Ephesians 5:18-19 (NKJV)
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
— Ephesians 5:18-19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:10Romans 8:14 (NKJV)
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
— Romans 8:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:12What does the Holy Spirit require of leaders?
Short answer: 2 Samuel 23:2–3: the Spirit spoke through David—he who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God, which is to depart from and hate evil. He applies this to civil, church, family, economic and educational leaders, saying schools teaching evolution and that homosexual lifestyle is acceptable are not just, nor are parents who don’t train their children.
▶ 3:54 Yeah. Now we’re going to go and look further into Old Testament scriptures. About the Holy Spirit. And we’re going to find in ii Samuel 23 2 that the Holy Spirit requires Bible morals. In leaders. David said the spirit of the Lord spoke by me. And this is what the spirit said through David he that rules over men must be just ruling in the fear of God the fear of the Lord is to depart from evil and hate evil detest evil detest behavior that hurts others and hurt yourself. Just is being right.
▶ 4:48 Being fair being equitable. And there’s five areas of leadership in the Bible civil. Spiritual the church. The family the parents. Economic the business world. And education. Now. Is America’s educational system just when they allow lies to be taught. In the educational system. The lies of evolution. The lies that homosexual lifestyle is acceptable. That’s not just.
▶ 5:43 That’s not fair that’s not equal to our young minds. That should be developing into an adult. That can be responsible in their behavior and accountable for their actions in their speech and we can go on down the line. Our parents being. Just. When they don’t train up their kids in the way of the Lord. No. That is not just. And so leaders parents you need to be a just parent a parent that rules. In the fear of God. The Holy Spirit next we find.
Scripture in this part
2 Samuel 23:2-3 (NKJV)
“The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue. The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: ‘He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God.
— 2 Samuel 23:2-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:10Does the Holy Spirit require a pattern for church services?
Short answer: 1 Chronicles 28:11–12: the Spirit gave David the pattern for the temple. 1 Corinthians 14 gives the church service, decently and in order: praying in the Spirit, singing by the Spirit with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, and speaking by prophecy, knowledge, doctrine and revelation. Concerts, dance and celebrity testimonies must not replace it.
▶ 6:39 Requires God’s methods for church services. Remember last week we showed you that. God is the father part of God. That mainly works from heaven. And he does. Okay he created the earth with Jesus Christ. Let us make man in our image. Jesus is the part of God that came in the flesh. To die for our sins and he’s going to come back again that immortal body that went up into heaven is going to return. See he’s the part of God that came in the flesh born of a virgin. To save us from our sins.
▶ 7:34 And he’s the one we’re looking for to return. In the same manner that he left but the Holy Spirit is the part of God. And why do I say part of God because there is only how many gods one. So he expresses himself as the Holy Spirit expresses himself as Christ in the flesh. God in the flesh. You know Jesus’s name was also Emmanuel what’s a manual mean. God with us come on folks. He was God. The Holy Spirit is that power part of God that empowers mankind. Here on earth to succeed. In natural spiritual and family areas.
▶ 8:29 It’s that working part of God with us and all three are important we need all of God. In first Chronicles 28 11 and 12 David gave Solomon the pattern of the house of the Lord. Of all that he had by the spirit the spirit revealed how Solomon’s temple was to be built in first Corinthians 14 in the New Testament it gives us the church service. Okay. We are to do the things in first Corinthians 14 decently mannerly and in order. All right and he tells us what to do pray in the spirit. Don’t just come in with your petty little prayers learn how to connect with the spirit that’s what God told us to worship him in spirit and in truth so the worship part of the service the singing is not just you know for musicians to have a chance to use their skills or singers have a chance to use their skills no it’s a part of the service where the spirit comes with Psalms hymns and spiritual songs that teach and admonish and build the body of Christ.
▶ 9:56 And that’s where most of your prophecies and tongues and interpretations. And things like that come in is during the song. Part of the service. But he says we got to do it in spirit. And he says. There are several avenues of speaking. Prophecy which is edification exhortation and comfort of the body of Christ everything is to be building comforting encouraging stimulating the body of Christ into maturity everything we do is to from the young babies to the mature ones to grow and be strong in God not well I like this song this is cool we’re going to sing it today no what does the Holy Spirit want to sing.
▶ 10:51 And when it comes to speaking you can speak the Bible says there. By prophecy. By knowledge. By doctrine and by Revelation. Okay. That’s what’s supposed to be done speaking the word singing the word praying. You don’t have a church service until you pray. Worship and praise him and hear a word from God that’s what a church service is all about. And so we’ve got to follow the pattern and you notice how the spirit. Was involved we’re not just to sing but to sing by the Holy Spirit see we’re not just to pray we’re to pray by the Holy Spirit.
Scripture in this part
1 Chronicles 28:11-12 (NKJV)
Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the vestibule, its houses, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner chambers, and the place of the mercy seat; and the plans for all that he had by the Spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, of all the chambers all around, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries for the dedicated things;
— 1 Chronicles 28:11-12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:391 Corinthians 14:26 (NKJV)
How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.
— 1 Corinthians 14:26 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:57 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 4:24 (NKJV)
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
— John 4:24 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:31 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why might preaching against sin bring violence?
Short answer: 2 Chronicles 24:20–21: the Spirit came on Zechariah to rebuke King Joash for forsaking the Lord after Jehoiada died and flattering princes brought in other religions; Joash had him stoned in the court of the Lord’s house. He says that may be why many pastors won’t preach sin and judgment.
▶ 11:48 We need to do things God’s way. And we mustn’t let concerts, mimes. Dance truths. Famous people testimonies replace. The power of the spirit and the pattern of the church. Now that was a good statement. Hallelujah. That’s what seems to be happening in America. Next we’re going to see that the Holy Spirit exposing sin. Can lead to violence. For the one that’s being used by the Holy Spirit. Ii Chronicles 24 20 the spirit of God came upon Zechariah saying why transgress you the laws of the Lord that you cannot prosper why are you disobeying God’s word.
▶ 12:48 As you have forsaken the Lord he’s also forsaken you now let me give you the scene of this josiah Joash was king. And as long as Jehoiada. The priest was his counselor oh man he brought the people into God he repaired the house of God there was great excitement for God in Judah. But Jehoiada the counselor and folks you got to watch leaning on ministers. Who comes out of the desert. Leaning on her beloved the church. Don’t ever lean on some minister. You’ve got to touch the source yourself but when Jehoiada died then the young princes came in Jehoiada wasn’t there to drive them away and they come in flattering Joash you’re such a great leader oh man you know you’re such a fair leader you know you got to allow other religions into this nation you know you you got to accept muslims you got to accept hindus yeah you got to accept spiritists and and the occult you got to accept these religions.
▶ 14:12 And boy Joash got all flattered boy these guys they they recognize a real leader when they see one okay yeah you got. And so they brought in other religions. And then Zechariah. Was Jehoiada’s son. And now he’s the priest and God used him to speak through him that you have forsaken the Lord the Lord has forsaken you and you are breaking the laws of God so what did Joash do the one that just finished repairing the house of God while Jehoiada. Zechariah’s father was present he. Conspired against him they their young princes and Joash conspired against Zechariah for preaching this righteous message and they stoned him.
▶ 15:10 By the order of the king. The one who had brought revival and and and repaired the house of God is now killing the mouthpiece of those that say walk in righteousness. Walk in the word walk in Bible morality and they stoned him in God’s house. They didn’t even have enough respect for God’s house where God dwelled to kill him outside they killed him right in the house of the courts of the house of the Lord. And church that could be why. Many American pastors will not preach sin and its punishment and the judgment to come is they don’t like the consequences of people hating them attacking them and harming them.
Scripture in this part
2 Chronicles 24:20-21 (NKJV)
Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God: ‘Why do you transgress the commandments of the LORD, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, He also has forsaken you.’ ” So they conspired against him, and at the command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the LORD.
— 2 Chronicles 24:20-21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:34How did God warn his people about sin?
Short answer: By the Spirit through the prophets—Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah and on to John, Jesus and the apostles. Nehemiah 9: God testified against them by his Spirit in the prophets, and when they wouldn’t listen sent them into captivity. 2 Peter 1: the prophets spoke as moved by the Holy Spirit, so the Bible is not myths written by men.
▶ 16:11 God’s prophets spoke. By the Holy Spirit. Exposing ungodly behavior. And many of these prophets were persecuted for it we’re talking about the office of a prophet here now Isaiah Jeremiah Ezekiel Zechariah Malachi all these guys. What I call the office the they were officials of prophecy when they spoke it happened we’re not talking about edification exhortation and comfort in the body of Christ we’re not talking about placing people into the body of Christ prophecy we’re talking about the office of a prophet. John the baptist continued that lineage of prophets Jesus continued it. Paul Peter John and they continued it.
▶ 17:05 And people today call themselves prophets and they miss. And they still say that I’m a prophet and they got people following them it’s ridiculous. Nehemiah 9 29 for many years Nehemiah said. Nehemiah is the one that built a wall in the return of the captivity. Many years you had patience with your people’s sin and you testified against them by your spirit and your prophets. See how did he speak to his people about sin. By the spirit of God in the prophet one voice was heaven one voice from heaven. It was a person. Filled with the Holy Spirit anointed by the Holy Spirit that spoke by the spirit and that’s important they spoke by the spirit tongues have to be spoken by the spirit prophecies has to be spoken by the spirit when the spirit wants to speak it and how the spirit wants to say it that makes the big difference yet the people would not listen so you gave them to the peoples of the land you sent them into captivity.
▶ 18:19 Okay remember God judges by war by plagues by famine or economic downturns and by acts of God all right he does correct people here on earth. In second Peter 1:19 we see the same thing in the New Testament he said the prophets of old spoke the scriptures. As the spirit moved them you see it was the spirit doing it and church that’s what we got to get back to the spirit moving us. To edify encourage and comfort the body of Christ that it grows into a glorious church at the gates of hell cannot prevail against could that be an amen. I want to remind you that our opponents.
Scripture in this part
Nehemiah 9:30 (NKJV)
Yet for many years You had patience with them, And testified against them by Your Spirit in Your prophets. Yet they would not listen; Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.
— Nehemiah 9:30 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:17 (quoted; reference not named in the message)2 Peter 1:21 (NKJV)
for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
— 2 Peter 1:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:33 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How do we obtain and maintain the Holy Spirit?
Short answer: In Psalm 51 David, confronted for killing an innocent man and adultery, repented and prayed “create in me a clean heart… take not your Holy Spirit from me.” Proverbs 1:23: turn at my reproof and I will pour out my Spirit. Maintain the Spirit by admitting you’re wrong and turning from it.
▶ 19:11 Who says the Bible is just myths. Written by men these verses show that that is a lie it is written by the Holy Ghost through men that is a big difference not written by men’s intellect like Jon Stewart and bill meyer and the homosexual activists want to promote in America today and the and the humanist it was written by the Holy Ghost. Through men that’s a big difference they had no say in the matter. They spoke what they were told to speak. Now the next area is obtaining and maintaining the Holy Ghost. Psalms 51 verses 2 through 11 David had just. Killed an innocent man David had had immoral sex with his wife and got her pregnant.
▶ 20:12 David was confronted by the prophet. You broke the law of God you have forsaken God instead of David stoning the prophet. Killing the prophet shutting him up. David confessed in Psalms 51 verses through to 11. He confessed his sin he admitted he was wrong he turned and turned in the Old Testament same word as repent they turned from their sin. To do right. And he prayed this prayer create in me a clean heart o God. And renew a right spirit within me cast me not away from your presence and take not your Holy Spirit from me we know from last week’s lesson that the spirit of God came upon David.
▶ 21:05 And David knew God could take that Holy Spirit away and not only that he could take the presence away the presence is what we felt this morning you see that sovereign presence that corporate presence. The spirit is that individual expression to us where God can talk to us in the midst of the corporate presence are you with me and a lot of people because they feel the corporate presence. They think they have the expression of the Holy Ghost. And there is a difference. Okay the Holy Ghost is active he is specific. So we maintain. The Holy Spirit by repenting when you make a mistake just admit you’re wrong and turn from it could that be an amen don’t make a big deal out of it just be honest and say I’m wrong and I gotta try and change this wrong I’ve got to turn from this wrong and then in Proverbs 1:23 turn at my reproof and I will pour out my spirit upon you and make known my words to you here it is again repentance.
Scripture in this part
Psalm 51:10-11 (NKJV)
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
— Psalm 51:10-11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:57 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Proverbs 1:23 (NKJV)
Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.
— Proverbs 1:23 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:14What three things revolutionized the apostles?
Short answer: He says the apostles healed and cast out demons before being filled—authority is separate from the Holy Ghost. Then Jesus opened their understanding of the scriptures (Luke 24:45), and at Acts 2 they were filled. Before that Peter denied Christ; afterward none of them wavered.
▶ 22:29 If you want the active. Part of God making you successful spiritually naturally. Hear why you’re on earth. Be willing to admit you’re wrong. Be willing to turn from your wrong and God is just waiting to ignite you with his Holy Spirit to empower you to maintain. That action. For your information. The apostles could do. His physical healings and cast out demons before they were filled with the Holy Ghost. But the spirit was with him and Jesus said the spirit will be in you but it’s with you right now but it’s going to be in you authority to do things like that.
▶ 23:24 Is separate from the Holy Ghost. Pentecostals spirit-filled and charismatic people really trip things up in these areas. They want to go to Acts 2 and everything happened after that no is God the same yesterday today and forever yeah. Okay so. They were doing healings. And they were preaching and people were getting saved before they were filled with the Holy Ghost the next thing that happened to the apostles in the last chapter of Luke he opened their understanding. To understand the scriptures and that’s what he said he would do here I’ll make my words known to you. Two things happen to the apostles that revolutionize their life. I should say three things they were given authority.
▶ 24:18 The scriptures were opened where they understood them and then in Acts 2 they were filled with the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. And these guys never wavered in their faith they never staggered in their faith they never had nervous breakdowns. They didn’t have a an affair with the secretary of the church or the clerk of the church or whatever none of that happened in the early church why because the Holy Ghost empowers you. See before the Holy Ghost come what did Peter do. He denied Christ yeah he could do miracles yeah he could preach and people got saved but he couldn’t stand against adversity. He couldn’t be successful. And he went back to fishing.
Scripture in this part
Luke 24:45 (NKJV)
And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
— Luke 24:45 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 23:59 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What did the Spirit rest on Jesus to do?
Short answer: Isaiah 11:1–2 (fulfilled in Matthew 3:16): the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord rested on him without measure. Isaiah 42:1 (Matthew 12:17–18): he will not be discouraged—so Jesus isn’t discouraged when we mess up.
▶ 25:12 And left the savior. Not only denied him just left. Not when the Holy Ghost came upon him see we need the whole package. Are you hearing me church and we need to pursue and maintain the whole package. The next scriptures pertaining to the Holy Ghost is talking about Jesus Christ. These are the promises to Jesus the coming messiah. The coming son of God only begotten son of God the coming prophet the coming king the coming savior and the coming Christ these. Are scriptures. Relating to him Isaiah 11:1 and it was fulfilled in Matthew 3:16 the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him the spirit of wisdom understanding counsel, might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
▶ 26:10 Now over in Revelations there are seven eyes up in heaven and they are the seven spirits of God and here we have listed the seven spirits of God. The spirit of the Lord is numero uno. Incorporates everything but how many need a little wisdom. And how many need a lot of knowledge. And how we would love for people to exercise understanding you. And how many could use some strength to stand in adversity. Yes you see. And so when God gave Christ the Holy Spirit the New Testament tells us he gave it to him without measure he got the full thing. You see. The wisdom the knowledge the understanding the strength the fear of the Lord and the.
▶ 27:03 Lordship the controller the power. In Isaiah 42:1 it’s fulfilled in Matthew 12:17 behold my servant my elect my chosen and whom my soul delights I have put my spirit upon him and he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles and look at this he shall not be what discouraged. I mean aren’t we a bunch of discouraging people. But not Jesus you don’t find him discouraged one time he’s not discouraged when you mess up. Okay he’s not up there in heaven on his throne going oh my God is the church going to make it oh my God is mr barnes going to make it oh my Lord ah he’s not up there discouraged at all.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 11:1-2 (NKJV)
There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
— Isaiah 11:1-2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:57Isaiah 42:1-4 (NKJV)
“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”
— Isaiah 42:1-4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 27:08Matthew 12:17-18 (NKJV)
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.
— Matthew 12:17-18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 27:11What was Jesus anointed to do in Isaiah 61?
Short answer: Isaiah 61:1–3 (Luke 4:18): to preach good news to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, free captives of alcohol, sexual sin and crime, proclaim the acceptable year and the day of vengeance, comfort those in Zion, and give beauty for ashes and the garment of praise for heaviness, that they be called trees of righteousness.
▶ 28:01 He knows the power of his blood the power of his word the power of his spirit he knows he can finish the good work he began in us. Hallelujah and I’m glad that’s the kind of God we got. Now Isaiah 61:1. Fulfilled in Luke 4:18. The spirit of God is upon me Jesus said and he’s anointed me to preach the good gospel the good news to the poor Jesus I told you before never once is there a record of him giving alms to the poor. But he preached the gospel to the poor now which is more important for the poor to have. The gospel did he tell us to remember the poor absolutely did the early church remember the poor.
▶ 28:58 Yes they did the poor of the church. Not the poor outside the church and he says the spirit’s going to give him the power to bind up the brokenhearted he did that to proclaim liberty to the captives or set the captives free and open the prison doors to those that are bound those are alcoholics those that are in prostitution and sexual immorality captured by that those in criminals the thiefs and so forth he set them free from that desire from that that that habit of behavior. He literally set them free and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and that’s what we’re in I don’t care how bad a sinner you are. You repent. You ask God to forgive you admit you’re wrong and you’re acceptable in the beloved that’s the bottom line that’s how powerful the offering is.
▶ 29:57 And the day of vengeance of our God I told you before God is dealing with people now see our our congress does not understand. Another source of the drought in America they don’t understand another source of the economic problem in America. When God wants to get the attention of a nation he does it those four ways. And they don’t understand. That mexico could conquer America if God decides to turn on us and then he says to comfort all that born in Zion what is Zion in the Old Testament the church Hebrews chapter 12. The church to comfort those in the church how many could use some good Holy Ghost comforting yes and beauty give them beauty for ashes that oh ashes is something that once had use is now worthless.
▶ 30:58 You see their life was just just worthless. And there’s a lot of people in America whose lives are worthless and God wants to what makes something beautiful and useful out of that life again. Powerful see the Holy Ghost come upon Jesus for a purpose. To give them joy for mourning the garment of praise we sing about it today for the spirit of heaviness you know Christians go around depressed they’re afraid of the Hillside Strangler they’re afraid of getting on the freeway you know they’re just depressed and God said what. I’ll give you a garment of praise. For that spirit of depression. Praises to boast of God boastful good things powerful things. And that.
▶ 31:53 They might be called trees of righteousness. That they them they trees of righteousness and how are they righteous the planting of the Lord the Bible says that the Lord doesn’t build the house we labor in vain to build it it’s imperative that God comes and he saves us and he plants us in his house because he will plant us on the road of righteousness. And why is righteousness so important because righteousness brings glory to him. Unrighteousness not does not bring glory to God righteousness does are you with me and the Holy Ghost came on Jesus for these purposes. We got them they and they who are they these trees of righteousness planted by the Lord they shall build and repair the old waste places and cities they’re going to be the ones I’m going to use that’s going to [unclear] other people’s lives that have destroyed their life I’m going to use those people hallelujah.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV)
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
— Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 28:18Luke 4:18 (NKJV)
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
— Luke 4:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 28:22What does God promise to do by putting his Spirit within us?
Short answer: Ezekiel 36:27: I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes. Answering his earlier questions, he says many American Christians live in sin without guilt, and new creatures still live the old life, because they haven’t let God put his Spirit in them.
▶ 33:11 And it’s important we come to church and we go through the week with this in our cranial vacuum. It’s very important it makes all the difference in the world but look at this. More of God’s promise to followers. This is how he’s going to make us a repairer and a builder. Ezekiel 36 27 I will pour out my spirit within you there’s that there’s that I will put my spirit within you there’s that verb again he’s going to do something put the plate on the table we it’s an action put the spirit within them. And that what John says in the gospel chapter 7 out of your innermost being shall flow rivers of life giving water this spake he of the spirit that was to come I will put my spirit within you and what cause you to walk in my statutes and you will keep my judgments and do them.
▶ 34:14 Amen. The Holy Spirit will cause he will motivate he will empower you to obey the word of God. That’s the promise to God’s people in the Old Testament. Now remember I gave you a question three questions last week. Here’s the answer to question number one if Jesus the savior came into the world to save sinners why are so many American Christians living in sin without any guilt. And without any concern about it. First Timothy 1:5 because they have not allowed God to put his spirit within them empowering them the part of God that works for mankind’s success here on earth they neglect them they’ll focus on Jesus they love to focus on Jesus the savior Jesus the forgiver.
▶ 35:15 And that’s what these people they’re not letting God put. The part of God that works with us here on earth into them to cause them to be different. The second question if any person be in Christ he’s supposed to be a new creature all things passed away all things become new why are so many American Christians still living in their old life of sin. They don’t even attend church they find every excuse not to be there they don’t pray they don’t read why they’re supposed to be new creatures that old life is supposed to be gone and they’re supposed to have a new life pursuing Christ pursuing his word pursuing righteousness isn’t that right. It’s because they’re not allowing God to put the Holy Spirit Jesus to baptize them and the Holy Spirit put the spirit in them that motivates them that causes them to empower them to do something.
Scripture in this part
Ezekiel 36:27 (NKJV)
I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
— Ezekiel 36:27 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 33:34John 7:38-39 (NKJV)
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
— John 7:38-39 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 33:59 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does “I will open your graves” promise?
Short answer: Ezekiel 37:13–14: God speaks to his people who lost their life—I will open your graves, put my Spirit in you, and you shall live. The spirit without the body is dead; faith doesn’t open graves, the Spirit gives life.
▶ 36:15 Get off of facebook and read my word. You’ll learn a lot more in my word than you will on facebook. Another promise. To the followers of Christ Ezekiel 37 verses 13 and 14 you shall know that I am the Lord we’re supposed to know the Lord when I open your graves and my oh my people and I brought you up out of your graves my people and I will put my spirit in you and you shall come alive you will live. A grave is a place where we put somebody that once had life and lost it. And he’s talking to his people here. Not to unbelievers.
▶ 37:09 That my people you’ve lost your life. I’m going to open your grave now we go to the Jesus when he died on the cross the graves were open around Jerusalem. The grave of Joseph was one of them he was mummified and he was placed in a grave. And when Jesus died that grave opened and people could come by and see that mummified body of Joseph. He’s still dead. He’s in the grave. But when Jesus rose. Joseph came out of the grave. A mummified body standing there by the grave. Are you with me.
▶ 38:02 But I will put my spirit in you and you will what live the Bible says the spirit without the body is dead that’s when you really die when God takes the spirit you’re dead your fleshly body’s dead I don’t care if your heart’s pumping or not I don’t care if they put you on the machine and just keep you going mechanically you’re dead when God takes the spirit it’s over. Folks it’s the spirit faith does not do this. The Holy Spirit does this. Are you with me. Hallelujah how may have you ever been dead as a Christian. Yeah how many glad you can get your grave open and you can come out and you can live again yes.
Scripture in this part
Ezekiel 37:13-14 (NKJV)
Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD.’ ”
— Ezekiel 37:13-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 36:30James 2:26 (NKJV)
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
— James 2:26 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 38:11 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Is tongues the sign of the baptism of the Holy Ghost?
Short answer: Joel 2:28: sons and daughters prophesy, old men dream dreams, young men see visions. He says the Bible speaks of expressions of the Holy Ghost, not one initial sign—prophecy, dreams, visions. Job 33:14–16: God speaks in dreams of the night to turn men.
▶ 38:58 Hallelujah. Amen. But that’s the promise to God’s people. Faith doesn’t open the graves faith doesn’t get you out of the grave the spirit does and the spirit gives you life. Joel 2 28. It shall come to pass afterward or in the last days that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy your old man shall dream dreams and your young men to see visions now how in the world us pentecostals and charismatics and spirit-filled people got tongues out of that is beyond my biblical understanding. They taught for decades. That tongues were the only initial sign of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. And the Bible doesn’t really say there’s a sign.
▶ 39:55 It says there is expressions of the Holy Ghost. And here what is the expression prophecy. Dreams visions. Did Stephen see a vision of Jesus up in the heaven standing at the right hand of the father did people have dreams. And the Bible says in the Old Testament that he comes to us at night while we’re sleeping in Job 33 14. And God will speak one way or another. And man doesn’t even perceive it because he’s in a dream and a vision of the night when deep sleep falls upon him while slumbering in their bed God opens their the ears of men and seals their instructions in order to turn them.
Scripture in this part
Joel 2:28 (NKJV)
“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
— Joel 2:28 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 39:15Job 33:14-16 (NKJV)
For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction.
— Job 33:14-16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 40:23What does Haggai promise about the latter house?
Short answer: Haggai 2:4–9: be strong, my Spirit remains among you; I will shake all nations, the desire of all nations shall come, and the glory of the latter house will be greater than the former. He says a falling away, restoration and times of refreshing lead to a glorious church without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27).
▶ 40:50 Now I can use a God like that hallelujah. God has to get through my hard head one way or another God’s promise to followers Haggai 2:4-9 Haggai was one of the prophets in the rebuilding of the temple of God and he tells the people be strong according to the word that I have covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt that covenant that I started with I still maintain the same covenant the covenant Jesus brought in the new covenant is it still effective today. Yes. My spirit remains among you is the Holy Spirit still working to empower the church to make it successful. Amen. We come out of sin we come out of bondage yes he’s still working and I know world we look like a bunch of not heads sometimes but remember Christ doesn’t get discouraged.
▶ 41:50 He’s still working but his spirit amongst us so he says be strong and fear not be strong. You know get that in you today. I’m strong. I’m not afraid. Because the spirit. Somehow. Is amongst us. Amen. And the spirit can accomplish what I can’t then he says I will shake the heavens and the earth. And all nations say it all nations. Yes and the desire say it again of all nations how many nations all nations shall come and I will fill this house with glory says the Lord of hosts. Now you can say. This is the early church.
▶ 42:46 But the early church did not know there were nations in north America central America south America australia and islands of the sea they didn’t know in fact we didn’t know it for about. 1600 more years. 1400 more years somewhere around there. All right we didn’t know it. Then he says this powerful statement. The glory of this last day house will be greater than the glory of the former house and in this place will I give peace the early church was a glorious church folks. They preached the gospel. With signs following okay as a witness.
▶ 43:38 They did they had the whole known world turned upside down in Acts the Bible says they had everything disturbed people were coming to Christ like crazy out of their pagan religions and so forth but Jesus said through the prophet. That there will be a falling away and we saw falling away then he said there would be a restoration. And there would be times of refreshing. Times of visitation from the presence of the Lord and we taught you that there are four of them. In America and europe. The last one started in 1948 ended in the 80s. Ephesians tells us. In chapter 5. That God’s going to present to himself a glorious church without spot or wrinkle.
Scripture in this part
Haggai 2:4-9 (NKJV)
Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the LORD; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the LORD, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’ “For thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.”
— Haggai 2:4-9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 40:50Ephesians 5:27 (NKJV)
that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
— Ephesians 5:27 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 43:38 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What promises must still be fulfilled before Christ returns?
Short answer: Luke 24:44: all things written about him must be fulfilled. Deuteronomy 28: God’s people the head and not the tail; Psalm 22:27–30: all nations worship and a seed shall serve him; Daniel 7:27: kingdoms given to the saints; Isaiah 2:2–3: all nations flow to the Lord’s house. He says Jesus comes once, at the set time.
▶ 44:30 Without blemish. And holy unto him. Jesus said who said it Luke 24:44 Jesus said did Jesus lie. All things how many things all things must be what. Fulfilled come to pass which were written in the law of Moses. The prophets and the Psalms concerning me. Now is he the builder of the church. Does the Bible say Jesus is the builder of the church and we labor in vain you’re telling me he doesn’t have the authority. To make the church glorious.
▶ 45:22 I can’t buy that kind of nonsense. My Jesus nothing is impossible for him to do the Bible says nothing and he will bring to pass everything in that book. Amen. And my doctrine’s got to line up with his not his with mine. Now let’s go to the law. Deuteronomy 28:1 I will set you talking to his people I will set you above all nations. You’re going to be the head not the tail. You’re going to be over them not them over you and I submit to you has that happened yet. No. Is there an event in the future where this has to come to pass absolutely.
▶ 46:18 Because everything written in the law and the prophets has got to be fulfilled. He fulfilled the shadow laws but this is not a shadow law. This is a promise that God’s people are going to be in authority. Amen. Are you with me church. This is a very powerful message if you can get. It something to strive for something to believe for then you go to Psalms 22:27-30. All nations will turn and worship the Lord Jesus how many nations all nations have we seen that. No we got little spurts of it. But we haven’t seen it now let’s go to the prophets we got the law we got.
▶ 47:12 Uh. The Psalms. And look here a seed shall serve him and it will be counted to the Lord for one generation. A seed shall what serve him is the church really serving Christ in America today now you’d have to be an idiot to say yes. A lot of them believe homosexual. Lifestyle’s okay and homosexual marriage is okay because the government said it’s okay a lot of them believe that the the muslims are horrible for cutting off people’s heads but we go in and cut off a baby’s head in the womb and it’s okay. Are you there. Pull that baby apart limb by limb.
▶ 48:09 But we’re not barbarics they are. So what does God do he uses a sinful nation to correct the sinful nation. That’s what he does. How many of you know not everybody is going to be dead when Christ comes a second time. Those which are alive and remain shall be caught up how many know there’s going to be a generation when Christ comes. And there’s going to be a generation that’s going to be serving him and John and and first John John wrote we don’t know what we shall be when he comes we know that we shall be like him. Are we like him right now no something has got to transpire between now and the coming of Christ and there’s going to be a church there’s going to be a generation there’s going to be a people that’s going to serve the Lord.
▶ 49:05 Amen. And the glorious house in the latter days is going to exceed the early church because we now have understanding of all nations they didn’t. So there is a bigger glory are you with me. Daniel 7 27 the sovereignty the power and the greatness of kingdoms under the whole heaven all nations will be handed over to the handed over to the a saint isn’t what the catholics say it is. Sister teresa doing all those good things over there and a couple of so-called miracles happen oh. We acknowledge her as a saint now the saints are God’s people.
▶ 50:02 And we don’t look so sainty sometimes. But is he discouraged no he’s not discouraged. So you shouldn’t be discouraged give God a little more time. They will be handed over to the saints the people of the most high all dominions shall worship and obey him the Lord this is the end of the matter the conclusion of the matter so when is this going to take place at the end the conclusion that generation that will serve the Lord that will have understanding in these things that will be preached in the gospel as a witness to the nations. And have an effect on an effect upon every nation of the earth. And that’s the power of the Holy Spirit folks.
▶ 50:59 Hallelujah. Do we need the Holy Ghost. Absolutely. Do we need Jesus. Absolutely. Do we need the father. Absolutely. We need them all three working in their life and the way that God intended them for the work in our life. Hallelujah. I love my father. I love my savior. Who is also my Lord I’m to obey him and I love the Holy Ghost that keeps changing me and dealing with me. Isaiah 2:2. Powerful.
▶ 51:52 Powerful when people say something is symbolic that I know from the scriptures the true it stirs my dander. Don’t you put the power of the Holy Ghost and Jesus and God in symbolism. And get rid of numerology there’s no such thing. It’s destroyed a lot of people. Get the truth. It shall come to pass when. In the latter days the last days the last day started when Christ rose from the grave. Okay or poured out the Holy Ghost the last day started we are in the last days we don’t know how many days that is whether there are a thousand years times 10 or 365 years time we don’t know nobody knows they act like they know but they don’t know.
▶ 53:01 That the mountain of the lord’s house whose house. The lord’s house the church shall be established on the top of the mountains all the other authorities all other nations and will be exalted above the hills and what. All nations said. All nations shall flow into it into what. The house. The church the assembly of God’s people. That’s powerful. The prophets had to be speaking by the Holy Ghost to get this stuff didn’t it. He will teach us his ways and we will what. Walk in his past there it is again he’s going to give us the Holy Ghost and he is going to cause us to walk in his word here it is again I am going to move in the last days so mightily upon all the nations that they’re going to come to my house my church.
▶ 54:08 And I am going to teach them by the Holy Ghost by the scriptures and they are going to walk in my path that last generation is going to be a generation that serves the Lord. Are you there. And Jesus is only coming one more time folks. And that makes pre-tribulation rapture theory out that’s just one of the problems they got they got him coming twice Bible never says he’s coming twice it says he’s coming once you have to rubber band scriptures you have to adjust them to fit your idea to get Jesus coming more than once. Hallelujah. There is something coming and I’ve always told the church since the 70s that Christ would not come in my lifetime.
▶ 55:06 And some of my opponents will say that means you’re going to die. And when the y2k come and the 2000 millennium come and all that and I said Christ isn’t coming. He is not coming and I had scriptures why there’s prophecies to be fulfilled every prophecy has to be fulfilled. So now it’s 2016 and my opponents are still maintaining. He can come any minute and no he isn’t coming any minute he’s coming at the set time and he’s coming to fulfill all prophecy. Wouldn’t you love to see the day when the kingdoms are given to the saints of the most high right now they just mock us ridicule us laugh at us.

— Isaiah 2:2-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 51:47What does the Spirit do when the enemy comes in like a flood?
Short answer: Isaiah 59:19: when the enemy comes in like a flood—like an underground river undermining the church with philosophies and doctrines—the Spirit of the Lord lifts up a standard that puts the enemy to flight. The Spirit, not us, will change America.
▶ 56:02 But one day that ain’t going to be so. God’s promise to his enemies. Isaiah 59:19. This is all Old Testament stuff where do we get in the New Testament. When the enemy shall come in like a flood. You see the flood there is a river when the enemy shall come in like a flood and it even talks about the underground river in this flood they use it for underground river underground rivers are undermining. What’s on top of it and sinkholes come and you fall into them how many you know that’s what happens to the church philosophies and doctrines come in secretly. And then the next thing you know the church is embracing them and what happened they fall into the sinkhole. Then later downstream.
▶ 56:56 This underground river comes to the surface and you know. What source it really is when the enemy comes in like a flood when the enemy comes in subtly like this to undermine to destroy. The spirit what part of God the spirit part of God that works with who. Us. The spirit part of God. Will lift up a standard and this standard is not a banner. This standard is an element that causes the enemy to flee you see. To put them to flight the spirit’s going to put them to flight I am against them. And the spirit’s going to do it church not us the spirit what’s going to change America.
▶ 57:52 The spirit. Moving through us we need the spirit. The spirit knows how to say what to say and when to say it and the attitude to say it in. Amen. And the enemy cannot stand against the spirit.

About this transcript
This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: One phrase at 32:50 was not clear. Caption fixes include Joash, Jehoiada, Zechariah, Jon Stewart and Bill Maher, Haggai. He cites Nehemiah 9:29 (9:30), 2 Peter 1:19 (1:21) and again 1 Timothy 1:5 (1:15). Points to check: rehab “seven percent success rate”; that Joseph’s mummified body was in a grave near Jerusalem and came out when Jesus rose (Joseph was buried at Shechem, Joshua 24:32; Matthew 27 names no one); four revivals, the last 1948–1980s. Sensitive content kept as spoken: alcohol, evolution and homosexuality in schools, Muslims/Hindus, abortion compared with beheadings, Mexico conquering America, Mother Teresa, Jesus never giving alms, no pre-tribulation rapture, “now it’s 2016.” Select any time to jump to that moment on YouTube.
