▶ 8:09 Wandering into the night. Wanting a place to hide this weary soul. This bag. So I tried with all my mind. But I just can’t win the fight I’m slowly drifting. A bang upon. And he told me that I was not alone. He picked me up he turned me around he placed my feet on solid ground I thank the master I thank the savior.

▶ 9:05 Because he healed my heart he changed my name forever free I’m not the same I take the master I thank the savior I thank God. I cannot deny what I see. Got no choice but to believe my doubts are burning. Like ashes is. Always this is so long to my old friends. Burden and bitterness you can just keep it moving. Now you ain’t welcome here. He picked me up he turned me around he placed my feet on solid ground I thank the master I thank the savior.

▶ 10:17 Because he healed my heart he changed my name forever free I’m not the same I think the master I thank the savior I thank God. Oh he picked me up he turned me around he placed my feet on solid ground I think the master I thank the savior. Another one.

▶ 11:24 I am free. Another one I am free I am prius I am free picked me up he turned me around he placed my feet on solid ground I think the master I thank the savior. Cause he healed my heart he changed my name forever free I’m not the same I thank the master I thank the savior. I thank the savior. I thank God. I thank the master.

▶ 12:40 Oh I thank the master. I thank the savior. I thank. God let’s take him I thank the master. I thank the savior. I thank God. Thank you thank. You Jesus. What a powerful name it is.

▶ 16:46 He’s worthy. Oh Jesus. What a powerful name it is. The name of what a Jesus name it is. Nothing can stand against.

▶ 17:38 What a powerful name it is the name of Jesus. What a powerful name it is the name of Jesus. What a powerful name it is. Jesus. I am ordained praise to steal the enemy and the avenger. Remember even in the Old Testament the walls of jericho fell when the people shouted unto God and blew the trumpets.

▶ 18:35 Remember that Jonah was spewed out of the whale’s belly when he thanked God and praised him and remember Paul and Silas. When they praised and gave honor unto God thanksgiving unto God. The prison was shaken and the joy the jailhouse doors were open and all the prisoners were set free. Oh church. I still inhabit the praises of my people. Babies young Christians all Christians alive by praising and thanking their God can steal the work of the enemy in the earth and the work of the enemy on their lie by simply understanding that they can open their mouth and sing praises unto their God and they can open their mouth and speak praises unto their God and their God will move mightily on their behalf let the spirit remind you of the power of praise.

▶ 19:46 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. He lives within the praises of his people. He loves to hear us. So set your mind on him.

▶ 20:41 And let our praise begin. And the glory of the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Now is the time for us to praise the Lord.

▶ 21:36 In the sanctuary of his Holy Spirit. And the glory. Of the Lord will fill his place. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. The of.

Why does praise matter?

▶ Watch this part (22:38)

Short answer: Out of the mouth of babes God ordained praise to stop the enemy; praise in unity brings His glory.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 22:38 His Lord. He loves to hear he loves to hear us call upon his name. So set your mind on here. And let your praise begin. And the glory. Of the Lord. There’s another verse to this by the way out of the mouth of babies and suddenly. He’s ordained strength praise to steal the enemy babies as a young Christian.

▶ 23:33 You could be eight years old you can be one year old in golf or you can be like me. The Ancient of Days. And you can praise your God and he will work for you but you gotta do something. You can’t just stand there and watch the singer sing. Everybody’s wanting some great minister to come and speak the right word and to pray the right prayer over them when God says enter into my gates with thanksgiving and into my courts with praise and I am capable of meeting every need that you have could that be an amen. So children you can lift your hands and you can lift your voice and you can sing. And you can praise God you young believers like mary you have power.

▶ 24:31 Out of the mouth of baby Christians he’s ordained praise to stop the enemy Satan from destroying your life and destroying those around you amen hallelujah. Let me get let me just share this Jesus before he raised Lazarus from the grave he said I thank you father. See he obeyed the scriptures. I thank you father that you’ve already heard my prayer and I’m only praying this for people around me to hear but I thank you Lord and then he watched Lazarus come forth and what happened. Lazarus came forth. Do you ever think that that this is a way God says we don’t have to be down in the gloom and dooms all the time we can come into his gates rejoicing and come into his courts with thanksgiving and he can move upon us and heal us and deliver us and meet our need whatever it is but we need.

▶ 25:34 To praise God in unity yes remember the tabernacle. When the singers lifted up their voices and the musicians lifted up their instruments and became one the glory of God came down. Now at the end of choruses. We don’t do this as much as we used to but we need to get back into the habit. At the end of our songs we have a time where you can sing and praise your God and give thanksgiving unto your God as one body give me one chord. Is.

▶ 27:15 Today. We lift you up we you Lord. And we need to pray in the spirit and steal our little logical minds pray we need the Holy Ghost to come and give us the prayer we can sing by the spirit we can speak by the spirit we can prophesy by the spirit but until we get together and believe God and obey him we’re just going to have another Calvary chapel service.

▶ 28:26 So let’s praise the praise the Lord. Praise the Lord in your defense. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. The Lord. Praise the Lord praise. Call upon. And let your praise begin.

▶ 29:21 And the glory of the Lord will fill. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. The Lord. Praise the Lord praise. The Lord. Oh now the time for us to praise the in the Lord. Of his Holy Spirit.

▶ 30:19 And let your praise begin. And the glory. Of the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Oh we bring the sacrifice. And we offer to you the sacrifices of thanksgiving.

▶ 31:23 And we offer unto you the sacrifices. Into the house. The sacrifices of thanksgiving. And we offer unto you the sacrifice. And the king of glory shall come in. Who is this king of glory he. Hallelujah.

What if raising hands feels foolish?

▶ Watch this part (32:36)

Short answer: Do it as a sacrifice because He said to, and God moves in our midst.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 32:36 Is. You may feel stupid raising your hand. You may feel stupid singing unto God so what do you do you sacrifice you do it because he said to do it and when we do it folks by sacrifice. God moves in our midst and I want this church to move forward in prophecy songs of the spirit prayering in the spirit we want God to move heal people mind soul and body could that be an amen we need him for that to happen and he inhabits the praises of his people and so next Sunday we come in ready charged up to praise and worship our God not to listen to these songs singers sing they’ve got 15 songs and we only need three.

▶ 33:57 All right. That’s right out of two or three witnesses you don’t need 10 songs we need the presence of God moving and he moves through his people amen amen hallelujah. And I’m done. Let’s pray this morning their heads bowed our eyes closed Jesus we come before you Lord and God we’re reminded that you will meet every need Jesus. God we pray that church in America and this church throughout the city and the state God would surrender to being a participant to be someone who is ruling over the kingdom of darkness in their life why because they exercised these principles Lord to step on safe to step on the kingdom of darkness to jump to to pound on that kingdom of darkness.

▶ 35:08 Lord because they’re praising God because they lift up your holy name Jesus out of the mouths of babies you’ve ordained praise to freeze to destroy to stop the enemy God Lord we I pray that we exercise these spiritual tools Lord they can’t be seen you can’t see it happen but Lord it is happening. Lord your praise is powerful and God we ask Jesus for our young people for our older ones Jesus that we would not forget and for our young ones that we would Lord take this to heart and apply it in our lives Jesus please we ask this in your wonderful name and everyone said amen you may find your seeds. Those online we want to thank you for joining us we trust God’s bless you with uh worship this morning and we hope that you understand that even in your house wherever you’re at you can praise God and be a participant and it makes all the difference in the world it’s not just the singers up here we’re not here to entertain we’re not here to be a concert we’re here to praise God together and it was such an important reminder this morning.

Who rules in this world?

▶ Watch this part (36:27)

Short answer: Christ, Satan and the kingdom of darkness, and you; God’s goal is that we grow into His image with dominion over sin.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 36:27 So going back this two weeks ago we were talking about who rules and Jesus wants to reign in your life there’s three main rulers in this world you have Christ God you have Satan in the kingdom of darkness and you have mankind. In mankind Christians live under man’s rule wicked people live under man’s rule man’s rule can be just it can be evil therefore if you have influence over mankind’s government influence it for right for truth and for justice. We were reminded that God’s goal for us is that we become in come into his image he made us it says in Genesis 1:26 he made us in his image and the scriptures say let us make them let us make him in our image speaking of Christ and God being there Jesus was there from the beginning he was at the beginning of the plan.

▶ 37:29 But God’s goal for us is that we grow into his image that we have dominion over sin that we have dominion over all of the earth. We learned about the image of God that God is merciful he’s not partial he’s a spirit he’s faithful he’s the author of peace his works are perfect he is truth and he has no iniquity he’s just and right and so God wants to bring us to that place you may not be merciful you may not be partial maybe you took a bribe you know if you’re out there not working and just taking money from the government you know that God that’s not healthy God says to work and maybe you’re in that state now but God can bring you out of that that is his point he can bring you into his image.

How are we transformed?

▶ Watch this part (38:30)

Short answer: From glory to glory by the Spirit; repentance, water baptism and the Holy Spirit are tools.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 38:30 Maybe you’re not faithful dependable credible today but God can bring you to where you are faithful maybe you’re not a person of peace and you always want to have conflict with everybody but God can bring you to a place where you are peaceable his works are perfect and for us he wants to make us complete. And you can you can work on that all your life. It’ll never end you want to be a complete Christian. Truth do we speak the truth do we are we committing iniquity if you have that God wants to bring you out of that that is his goal for you he wants to reign in your life second Corinthians 3:18 specifically gives us a very good picture and confirms this it says we all.

▶ 39:23 Are being transformed this word we all are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory just as by the spirit of the Lord. And so we learn three of the tools. For transformation being transformed into his likeness and one of those was repentance God doesn’t just get rid of you when you sin oh you sinned you’re out going to hell no you’re not condemned he has a plan he’s got tools for you when you make a mistake you can repent not just say uh like I say to my kids all the time that beckham if I just stand over you and you hit you and then say sorry and then hit you again say sorry hit you again say sorry that’s not what God that’s not what repentance is. You have to stop doing it you got to turn from that doesn’t make sense now we know we make mistakes and we act out and that happens you can change it.

▶ 40:32 Sounds a little loud in here water baptism. God crucifies and puts to death your inner man your old inner man and gives you a new conscience in first Peter 3:21. The Holy Spirit. Like we just read in this last scripture says that he transforms us into his image by the spirit of God when Jesus Christ went and saw his disciples after he rose from the grave he breathed on them and they received his spirit he also the Holy Spirit came in Acts 2 and filled them and gave them tongues and they were able to sing or or speak of the mighty works of God and it influenced thousands to come to Christ they were clothed with power there is a powerful. The Holy Spirit is a powerful experience and we all need it. It says repent be baptized and res you shall receive the Holy Spirit.

▶ 41:29 So are you willing to repent are you willing to get water baptized some people reject water baptism why I don’t know. The Holy Spirit will convict you of sin convict you of doing what is right and will give you power so what other tools do we have. We have the scriptures and this is a very important one that no matter what is going on in your life no matter where you are born whether in africa china asia australia whatever land you are in you can partake of the scriptures. And when you do that God he will speak to you through the scriptures the scriptures as we’re going to learn right now in second Timothy chapter 3 verse 16 it says all scripture is given by inspiration of God and I want to stop there all scripture all scripture that means the Old Testament we don’t throw out the Old Testament we have examples in the Old Testament that confirm everything in the New Testament the New Testament is shorter because it is summing up and fulfilling the Old Testament we don’t throw it out but we have to understand it.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

— 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 39:23 (quoted; reference not named in the message)
Scripture (NKJV)

1 Peter 3:21 (NKJV)

There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

— 1 Peter 3:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 40:32 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What is Scripture profitable for?

▶ Watch this part (42:50)

Short answer: Doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness, so we are thoroughly equipped.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 42:50 It is profitable for doctrine for reproof correction and instruction in righteousness so doctrine or principles guidelines that we need to follow in your our lives as Christians as people in the church what doctrines are we following got to get those from the scriptures reproof rebuke if you want to criticize somebody’s behavior if you see a problem in somebody’s life you can’t just throw your opinion at them you have to come with the scriptures we can’t just you know because we harp on something we don’t that doesn’t work you got to have the scriptures and you got to have confirmation you got to have two or three witnesses you can’t just be doing some you know verse that you don’t understand that you throw out there. It’s got to come from the Bible you know if somebody is blatant sitting it is not you who are criticizing him it is God’s word the word of God is rebuking the word of God is reproving and when we approach people we say we can’t do that as Christians we all of us.

▶ 44:01 The Bible is rebuking us. And correction. Uh you know sometimes people don’t see and they need to be reproved but people that see it because they’re reading the Bible can correct it you can be like that was wrong I got to correct that I got to correct that area you know when you read about six things the Lord hates and you’re committing one of those things you you see that you’re like I need to stop that right the word of God can correct you you know if you’re not disciplining your kids and all of a sudden you’re reading problems that said discipline your son and he will give you rest and I read that I was like oh that’s that’s a good one. You know these parents they have no rest because they won’t discipline their children tell them no get them under control you know you don’t have to get angry and get mad with them but you need to discipline your kids.

▶ 45:00 That’s just an example instruction teaching training discipline from the Bible this is all from the Bible and all of these lead us and are in righteousness the doctrine takes us to righteousness the reproof takes us to righteous the correction takes you to righteousness instruction takes you to righteousness if you’re not if you’re getting something out of the Bible and it’s not bringing you to righteousness you got a problem you didn’t understand it right. Amen. And it goes on to say so that the man of God may be complete. Perfect fitted. You know if you have if you’re building a building and using bricks to build that building or like my dad used to do refractory building furnaces you know they had to cut they had to do he was a bricklayer they had to cut it right it had to fit and so God works on you so that you fit into God’s building in his house.

▶ 46:01 And God. You don’t start out that way you know when you when God cuts you out of the mountain or wherever you’re at you’re rough amen. And he’s got to do some work on you. Totally equipped for every good work and that’s a reminder we should be doing good works second Timothy reminds us we should be the goal is to do what is right so if we’re getting that the the philosophy or the teaching that we don’t have to uh this this opposes the the teaching that all you need is grace and that’s it or all you need is the death of Jesus Christ and you stop there that’s not true we see that here in the scriptures. The scriptures in John 17 while Jesus Christ was praying in the garden of gethsemane before he was betrayed and when he was praying in blood sweat and tears and such fervency one of the things he said was your word is truth and that came from Jesus Christ himself.

▶ 47:13 Not from I mean that’s a powerful statement he’s talking about the Old Testament none of the New Testament had been written yet his word is truth what he spoke to the prophets what he spoke to Moses and the pentateuch it’s truth. And he also prayed sanctify them by your truth set them apart. The word of the Lord in Psalms 119 is pure. In Psalms 33 verse 4 the word of the Lord is right you look at this picture here you’ll see a frame being a building being built and they’re framing it out and they’re using steel framing whether it’s wood or if it’s steel you have to have a level a true.

▶ 48:05 Piece of material you can’t just you know put these pieces of wood it has to be cut right it has to be a certain length it has to be a certain width and it has to be a certain strength and that’s the way the word of God is you can use it to build your life on it is strong it is true it is level it’s straight. It’s correct you would never use water to build a building. Because it doesn’t hold up anything you wouldn’t use mud even though they use adobe but you know that’s not going to help frame. Like they build today the buildings they build it they don’t use things that are weak right you use strong things correct things. And these skyscrapers that are built are built with steel they’re built with engineering and everything has to be precise correct and that’s the way the word of God is.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Scripture (NKJV)

What does the law of the Lord do?

▶ Watch this part (49:08)

Short answer: It is perfect, converting the soul; the fear of the Lord is clean, and His correction gets us back on the road.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 49:08 Psalms 19 the law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul. One of the promises of the new covenant is that he will put his law in our minds and he will write it on our hearts and the law of the Lord is yes the Old Testament yes the New Testament the law of the Lord. In our mind. The testimony of the Lord is sure making wise is simple the statutes of the Lord are right rejoice in the heart the command of the Lord is pure enlightening the eyes you see this water up here is pure. It’s clear. You don’t want to put muddy water in your body I mean if you’re trying to survive sure if you you know clean it and do it right you know you watch beer grills he’ll tell you all how to do it right get the dirty water and boil it and there’s ways to figure it out but what you want is pure water you want the thing that is best for you and that’s what God’s word is it is not tainted it doesn’t have impurities in it now we can try to put stuff in it but it the word itself is not is pure it’s not tainted.

▶ 50:32 The fear of the Lord is clean enduring forever the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous all together so here we have the scriptures talking about themselves. Talking about itself the fear of the Lord is clean you see this girl here you see that not only it can you drink clean water or pure water but you can use it to purify yourself. Or clean yourself. If we want to get anything from the scriptures it must result in right righteousness the goal of the scriptures is to bring you to right. The law of the Lord the scriptures are meant to bless people for those who are doing what is right and also have punishment for those who are violating them that is the Bible and don’t be afraid of that word punish you know we get punished all the time you drive fast on the freeway or something you get punished right and you go on with your life you know we make it through it’s not like you know God’s word is meant to.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Psalm 19:7-9 (NKJV)

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

— Psalm 19:7-9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 49:08 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What does Jesus’ death and resurrection give?

▶ Watch this part (51:45)

Short answer: He destroyed him who had the power of death; graves opened—now take up your cross daily.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 51:45 Disable you so you can’t live your life anymore no God’s punishment is just meant. Sorry meant to. Correct you and get you back on the right road. Second tool that we’re going to talk about is Jesus’s death burial and resurrection Revelations 1 verse 5 reminds us to him who loved us and washed us from our sins with his own blood of course we know this without Jesus’s death on the cross where would we be when we wouldn’t have a starting point amen Hebrews 2:14 through death he might destroy him who had the power of death that is the Devil. The scriptures say in Luke behold I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you Jesus Christ with his death Jesus Christ with his authority gives us power to trample on the serpents and scorpions like we could do like we did this morning when we were praising him and lifting up his name you can trample on the kingdom of darkness.

▶ 53:03 And he destroyed him that had the power of death and we see that in Matthew 27:42 when Jesus died what happened the graves were opened. Many bodies of the saints were raised when Jesus rose from the grave those graves were open and when and when he rose they rose why because Jesus has power over death. Like Luke 9 verse 23. If any man comes after me let him deny himself take up his cross and follow me. Jesus is alive we need to follow him that resurrection. Today he’s not dead you may not have been able to see him visibly but he was here this morning and you need we need to follow him.

▶ 54:01 Take up our cross daily all the responsibilities that we have all the things that we have to do we’ve got to set aside time to follow Jesus Christ amen it’s not just accept his blood and see you later God or goodbye I see you’re going down the road now have a good time no you we we need to follow him imagine you’re at the base of a mountain and you see the light of Jesus Christ up there and you are thinking in your head do I really want to do this. But you got to make a choice you know how can I get up that mountain one of the things you ask you start asking yourself is what do I need to do to get up there or you just say forget it uh where is the where’s the couch at. Jesus Christ is calling us to follow him.

Scripture (NKJV)

Hebrews 2:14 (NKJV)

Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 9:23 (NKJV)

Who are enemies of the cross?

▶ Watch this part (54:54)

Short answer: Those whose god is their belly, glory in shame, and mind earthly things.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 54:54 Philippians chapter 3 verse 18 there is opposition. There are Christians in this scripture it’s talking about Christians many walk as enemies of the cross of Christ whose end is destruction whose God is their belly whose glory is in their shame and set their mind on earthly things. When it says God is their belly it’s talking about they follow whatever lusts they have they say that they are Christians but when the word comes to them instead of listening to the word they listen to what they want to do what they feel like doing and we don’t want to be like that you got to recognize. That when you’re following Christ. There’s also things you don’t want to do. Right if you want to get up that mountain where Jesus is you’re going to have to figure out how you can physically do it like you know in that example how can I you have to be fit to get up that mountain.

▶ 56:01 And maybe you need to do some training down there but you need to figure out how am I going to get up that mountain and one of the things is not to do the stuff that’s going to hurt you. Whose glory is in their shame they glory in their sin oh gosh Christians. The Bible says not to do certain things but we go and we find somebody that will agree with what we our opinion is and we think that you know we keep committing those bad things and we think we’re good we’re we’re proud of ourselves nobody’s perfect nobody’s perfect. You can’t be perfect. So we come up with excuse and statements that uh you know take us off of this goal that God has for us to come into his image.

▶ 56:58 We get distracted. Who set their mind on earthly things. That’s easy to do. There’s so many things in life and so so many responsibilities I mean we’ve all been there right you got a job you got a family to raise you got uh if you’re married you got a spouse you’ve got your family you’ve got people you go you want to party you know whatever it is you got in your life. There is an endless amount of you know just think about tv right there’s probably 10 streaming service out there and they have billions of hours millions of hours of stuff that you can just. Watch for the rest of your life and you can just waste your time. On entertainment and I’m just using that as an example right the world is full of distractions.

What happens in Christ?

▶ Watch this part (57:55)

Short answer: He is a new creation; grace teaches us to say no to ungodliness.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 57:55 The world is full of reasons to. Get distracted from Christ’s goal for you. Resurrection. Second Corinthians chapter 5 17 if any man be in Christ he is a new creation old things are passed away behold all things are coming new be become new. When you accept Christ and you accept his blood you asking him to come in to you right you’re asking him to cover your sin you’re receiving him in to your heart you’re saying God the scriptures say we are the temple of the Holy Spirit but here we kind of have a switch it says if anyone be in Christ.

▶ 58:47 He is a new creation. And so we have a little bit of a turn here and to be in Christ you have to make a choice to go where he is when the scriptures say when he says follow me that means you have to leave where you are at and you have to go to where he is you have to go in him. And you do that by exercising all of these things this image of God that is exactly what it’s talking about being in Christ is that you are headed toward the image of God. Amen and that process and your effort to you know to work with him in becoming the image of God in that process he will make you a new creature a new creation if you just stay in your little spot.

▶ 59:47 And you refuse and reject his transformation. You’re not going to become a new creature. You’re not going to become. Common to his likeness and into his image. And so the whole purpose of the death burial resurrection the cross is to provide a way for mankind to be forgiven cleansed and ultimately to be made a new creature a new creation and come into the image of Jesus Christ. Titus chapter 2 verse 11 talking about grace. And grace is in the Bible grace is good. And Titus has a great. Way to explain what grace is the grace the word is talking about favor and also the divine influence and it says the grace of God the divine influence of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men and it actually says this in Titus it teaches us the grace teaches us to say no to ungodliness.

▶ 1:01:06 It doesn’t excuse us. It doesn’t give us a reason. To. Commit ungodliness. Grace teaches us to say no divine influence on our heart teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions to live self-controlled upright and godly lives in this present age I tell you there’s so many tools good Lord. I need to grab this. There are so many tools. That God has provided for our salvation and for us to come into his image grace is one of those tools it teaches us re you guys need to go look this up in Titus chapter two it is an excellent scripture.

Why is faith essential?

▶ Watch this part (1:02:09)

Short answer: Without faith it is impossible to please God, yet faith without works is dead.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 1:02:09 Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6 without faith it is impossible to please God why. Why and it answers the question immediately it says he who comes to God must believe that he is that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him and so we see in the scripture here that you can’t even go to step two unless you’ve hit the first step you know if you’re going up the stairs you’ve got to start with stair one I mean maybe you can hop you know get up three or four but that’s all the faith right there you got to start with faith. Just standing at the stairs. You got to start with faith it begins with faith if you’re going to head to Jesus it starts with faith.

▶ 1:03:01 That’s why it’s impossible to please God without faith because that’s where it begins. But James chapter 2 26 says as the body without the spirit is dead so faith without deeds is dead if you just stand at the bottom of the stairs and you say I believe. I see Jesus so far off I see people following him I believe. It doesn’t work. You gotta get moving. You gotta move those feet and you know you’re thinking at the bottom I don’t wanna go up these stairs that’s like the last thing I want to do. That’s hard. But faith. Without deeds is dead.

How do leaders affect us?

▶ Watch this part (1:03:56)

Short answer: Leaders who cause people to err destroy them; rulers must be just, in the fear of God—and the people vote them in.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 1:03:56 Lastly we have leaders. In Isaiah chapter 9 verse 16 it says the leaders of this people cause them to err. And they and those who are led by them are destroyed now we have some bad leaders in our country and in our state. And I say that because they are going along with and agreeing with. Legislating and approving sin basically in our state in our country. We are allowing people to just steal things we’re allowing abortion to get more and more just killing babies up to the point of of birth and we’re floating these ideas how can we do that.

▶ 1:04:49 But I also have the crowd here because the crowd are the people that vote these people in so we as the people you know America is government by the people for the people right we’re we vote that all this stuff in. And so we are the leaders here and we’re leading America and our state away from God into sin and it’s not good. And so the leaders. Which you know you have the people’s vote and you have the government leaders who will not stand up for what’s right. They cause us to air. And those who are led by them are destroyed so ultimately it will bring us to some destruction and we don’t want that in our country we don’t want that in our state.

▶ 1:05:51 Samuel 23 he who rules must be over men must be just ruling in the fear of God doesn’t matter your political beliefs. It seems these days that if you are on a certain side then you automatically are not just. Because certain sides their platform and their beliefs are not just they’re not right and that’s a problem. You can’t have a platform that. Its base is to be unjust and not to rule on the fear of God to reject God. First Corinthians chapter 4 verse 2 it is required that stewards overseers governors must be found faithful trustworthy true dependable credible.

What about parents?

▶ Watch this part (1:06:45)

Short answer: Train up a child in the way he should go and give them the best example.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 1:06:45 And parents are ruling over their house you have lawmakers presidents we have entertainment media. Corporations are having influence. Because they provide products and then they influence with thus with what the things that they say. Romans chapter 13 3 for rulers are not a terror to good works but to evil. And so government should be promoting good and suppressing evil and that is the goal and when we have bad leaders when you have bad parents at home it makes it very difficult. To grow into the image of God it makes it. It’s not that God can’t change things around but it just as a parent you are putting your children in a horrible horrible beginning.

▶ 1:07:45 When you do not when you’re not a good example to them when you don’t teach them and train them up in the way they should go as it says in the next scripture here Proverbs 22 verse 6 train up a child and the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it we have leaders of every household there’s there over 300 million people in our country and there’s parents and we’re not training up our children in the way they should go. We’re neglecting them. Families are just completely neglecting their children and you know having their grandparents raise them it’s wrong. That’s not right. Parents we have a responsibility to train up our children the way they should go.

▶ 1:08:42 And this is directly related with coming into the image of God. You know you want to give your child the best example the best. Starting point that you can give them. Instead of ruining their chance from the beginning. It’s awful. Amen am I saying the wrong thing here is it’s horrible Colossians 3:19 husbands love your wives and do not be bitter toward them Titus 2:4 admonish young women to love their husbands and love their children. Romans 8:28. We have another scripture that confirms. What becoming into the image of God it says we know that all things work together for good we remember this scripture I remember this being a a.

▶ 1:09:42 Thing that mr Barnes would say to me a lot all things work together for good. For those who love God those who are called according to his purpose for whom he foreknew. Those Christians the people that believe in him when you come to him and believe in him it says he predestines you to be conformed to the image of his son so the message is the same from the beginning of creation even until now God his goal is for you to be transformed conformed into his image. Hebrews chapter 2 2 verse 3 as the worship team comes we’re going to sing Jesus all for Jesus.

How shall we escape?

▶ Watch this part (1:10:35)

Short answer: Not if we neglect so great a salvation—commit to all His tools, raise children in the Lord and vote righteous.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 1:10:35 Hebrews chapter 2 verse 3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation. And my point that with this scripture is that God has provided so many tools for us to grow he’s provided so many tools for us to come into his image we have only the choice of whether or not we’re going to reject those things that he’s provided. It’s not always easy but it is the best thing like the like the scriptures are they’re the purest it’s the best for your body Jesus Christ and his word is the best for your spiritual man. And. You know if we spend a lot of time. Improving our body making ourselves look beautiful and working out and that’s great but there is a much higher calling that God wants to bring your spiritual man to and that is into his image.

▶ 1:11:35 So this morning God is asking us and reminding us we are made in his image. Are we going to grow into his likeness or are we going to reject his image. Will we gain knowledge and understanding of the scriptures the scriptures are a tool that God has provided so that we can be transformed will we be cleansed by Jesus Christ and will we follow Jesus Christ. Will we let his grace teach us to say no and will we have faith that will begin our journey to be coming into his image. And will we follow right leaders and be. Good leaders as parents God is calling you.

▶ 1:12:30 To nurture and raise your kids in the fear and admonition of the Lord to train them up in the way they should go. As Christians God is calling you to vote right. To vote. The righteous that you can you know nobody’s putting on the ballot. You know a scripture that you can just say oh yeah. But we’ve got to reject things that are wrong. So this morning I invite you. We’re going to sing Jesus all for Jesus and in response. We just want to commit by singing this song commit to reading his word. Getting knowledge of the scriptures putting it in us.

how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

How does the service close?

▶ Watch this part (1:13:24)

Let’s pray for the church in America let’s pray for the church leaders in America and the leaders in our country let’s lift up our voices God Lord we ask that you come Lord come Lord with your terror on the nations God come with your terror on the dictatorships come with your terror on the church come Lord with your fear of God Lord come with your terror on the leaders of all nations presidents God Lord prime ministers Lord everywhere and Jesus Lord let them understand that you rule and you reign that you have authority God Lord we pray Jesus that leaders would have their Nebuchadnezzar moment there Daniel chapter 4 moment God where they understand Jesus and they understand the truth that you reign and are in authority God Jesus we pray for our country Lord.
