From the sermonWhat Happened to Jesus after 40 Days 02/02/2020 · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

Pastor David G. Kincer follows Jesus after His first 40 days: the wise men’s visit, the flight to Egypt, and Herod’s slaughter of Bethlehem’s children. Prophecies like “out of Egypt I called My Son” were hidden mysteries revealed by the Spirit. The wise men followed the star to Jesus and bowed the knee, which is what worship is.

What happened after Jesus’ first 40 days?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: He was presented at the temple; the poor man’s bird offering suggests the wise men hadn’t come yet.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:00 Been talking about the birth of Jesus Christ and today we find ourselves. After 40 days we’re going to be looking today what happened to Christ after the 40 day period. After he the 40 day period after his birth I should say okay. He’s going to go traveling down to Egypt and then come back up to Nazareth and that was a map of that here is a map showing the possible route of the wise men okay coming from the east and we’re going to pick up and Luke 22 when the days of her purification that’s Mary Mary’s purification according to the law of Moses found in the book of Leviticus were completed that’s 40 days they brought him Jesus to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord for it is written in the law of the Lord every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord and they had to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord Leviticus a pair of turtledoves and two young pigeons that was the poor man’s offering the middle class and upper class had to offer animals lambs and stuff like that so we’re going to make this statement if wise men

▶ 1:30 had already gave gifts to Mary and Joseph an animal could have been offered instead of a bird. So the assumption is the wise men hadn’t come up to this point all right now and that is an assumption that you get from reading the scriptures all right it’s not etched in stone but look at this if you go to ezra the book of ezra tells us how long it takes to travel from the east to Jerusalem ezra on the first day of the first month began to go up from babel and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem now one from five is four so they traveled four months.

▶ 2:27 Now you know things improved as time went by so it’s possible they could travel even faster to Jerusalem but now in other words it didn’t take two or three years to travel from the east to Jerusalem you got that in your carini all right okay. Hallelujah don’t you just like details I got a I got one guy agrees with me out of it yes because everybody’s out there saying stuff and they’re saying it without scriptural backup and the things they say about the birth of Christ just amazes me now here we have a map again of Jesus going into Egypt coming back out now he could have went in by the coast and out and he could have went in through the desert and out because that’s two main routes people took all right years Bethlehem here’s Nazareth now.

Luke 2:22-24 (NKJV)

Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord (as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the LORD”), and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”

When did the wise men leave?

▶ Watch this part (3:33)

Short answer: After giving gifts and worshiping, they departed another way, warned not to return to Herod.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:33 We read in Matthew chapter 2 that the wise men departed what did they do they departed they left Jerusalem so now they’ve given their gifts they’ve worshiped him correct all right they departed. When that happened an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream arise and take the young child and his mother and flee to Egypt stay there until I bring you word when he’s got a telegraph to heaven here anna he doesn’t need a smartphone an angel comes and talks to him when he’s sleeping and then God says when you’re ready to come back I’ll let you know I’ll let you know hey how many could use that kind of relationship with God yes and people say and today miracles aren’t for today come on come on we were we we serve a supernatural God and he can’t do supernatural things and our generation.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 2:12 (NKJV)

Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.

— Matthew 2:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:33

Why did Joseph flee to Egypt?

▶ Watch this part (4:39)

Short answer: An angel warned that Herod would seek the child to destroy Him, so Joseph arose in the night and went. It would be nice if we let God decide.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:39 That’s not right. Herod will seek the child to destroy him king Herod Herod was the king of judea at the time. So Joseph arose in the middle of the night took the young child and his mother and young child is the same word that describes. Baby Jesus it’s the same word it’s a greek word for a baby to like seven or years old or so okay so you can’t make anything out of it other than that got it all right and they departed to Egypt and was there until the death of Herod then what happens God goes and say you can come out now boy.

▶ 5:33 We could use some of that today don’t you think alleluia instead of us deciding everything it would be nice if we let God do it anyway now so he traveled down into Egypt Jesus is in Egypt now watch this yeah. Are you watching that. It might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet saying out of Egypt I have called my son that’s found in Hosea 11:1 now I’m going to be honest with you church 57 years ago when I read my Bible through for the first time I remember take a note of Hosea chapter 11 verse 1 and a Hosea 11 verse 1 is talking about Israel and he says out of Egypt I have called my son so I put this note down.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 2:13-14 (NKJV)

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt,

— Matthew 2:13-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:39

How was “out of Egypt I called My Son” fulfilled?

▶ Watch this part (6:33)

Short answer: Logically it referred to Israel, but mysteries hidden in the Old Testament are revealed by the Holy Spirit.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:33 Israel is God’s son logically. That’s what it said. But have you know in a New Testament has said that there are mysteries hidden in the Old Testament. But now they’re revealed okay I had no idea that Hosea was talking about Jesus the messiah going into Egypt when I read that verse and neither would you that has to be Holy Spirit revealed. Are you there and my point is this. If we had to wait for the Holy Ghost to tell us what Hosea 11:1 meant and Christ’s first coming how many you know there’s a lot of verses that we think we know and we don’t know about his second coming we go into the Bible with our logical mind and we come up with all these theories about the second coming of Christ it just amazes me everybody has one most of them just just follow whatever is popular okay and especially popular in their circles.

— Matthew 2:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:33

Who reveals the things of the Spirit?

▶ Watch this part (7:54)

Short answer: The Holy Spirit. Nobody was preaching that the Messiah would go into Egypt.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 7:54 Are you with me but it takes the Holy Spirit to reveal the things of the spirit amen say that with me it takes the Holy Spirit to reveal things of the spirit and Luke the last chapter it says God opened their understanding to understand the scriptures those apostles had been with him for three and a half years and still didn’t understand a lot of the scriptures but we think we can go to Bible college or seminary you know you know get our concordance out and all that and boy we all understand you don’t understand until what he opens the understanding and we’re not going to understand the second coming details until he opens it as he does it could amen.

▶ 8:53 Nobody was preaching when Jesus came that the messiah is going to go into Egypt the messiah is going to go and eat no one was saying that they weren’t even preaching it was going to be born it be born of a virgin they were preaching much of anything except the messiah was coming to be a king and deliver him from the roman empire because that’s what their intellectual brain got out of the Old Testament. Are you there hallelujah now. Let us continue in Matthew chapter 2 verse 16 then at that time when the wise men left king Herod saw that he was deceived by the wise men king Herod it asked the wise men to come back and tell him where the messiah was the king was and the.

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

— 1 Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:54

What did Herod do?

▶ Watch this part (9:46)

Short answer: The civil authority got very angry and sent soldiers to kill all the male children in Bethlehem.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:46 Wise men were told not to go back and talk to Herod all right so. The king of Judah the civil authorities got very angry. And he sent soldiers to put to death all male children in Bethlehem and the surrounding districts under three years old. Any child under three years old that was male was wiped out not just the first born every male he just killed them all. According to that time which was determined from the wise men what time was determined from the wise men they saw his star where in the east when they saw his star and that wasn’t a star stars don’t talk stars don’t give messages and stars are way too big and way too hot to.

▶ 10:54 Lead you anywhere on earth the smallest star is way bigger than the earth are you there. What they saw they perceived it as a star they saw a light I’m you know Paul got Jesus revealed himself to the apostle Paul as a light all right. And. Paul described it as the Lord himself the wise men described it as a star his star not a star his star say his star his star Jesus’s star not a star amen so it was a supernatural sign they had a supernatural sign that told them to go to Jerusalem because the king of kings was going to be born there and I want you to give him gifts and I want you to worship him so from the time they got the message to the time they came and saw the king Jesus and gave him gifts and worshiped him was under three years we know that amen and we know it only takes what four months even if they went from china it would have been eight months not three years so somewhere they were preparing before they left somewhere they

▶ 12:24 were given the time to leave and everything else they were given a lot more instruction than what is written in the Bible could that be an amen yeah now. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet here we go again. These children killed. Fulfilled Jeremiah the prophet now folks. Just like Herod tried to william gain the confidence of the wise men and the confidence of the Jews by building them a temple on all the rest governments today appease real Christians. When they really don’t like them or follow them or want anything to do it they appease.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 2:16 (NKJV)

Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.

— Matthew 2:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:46

Is the name of Jesus accepted publicly?

▶ Watch this part (13:22)

Short answer: He says the name of God is accepted because it can mean any god, but not the name of Jesus.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:22 Christians. But you try to use the name of Jesus publicly the name of God is accepted but not the name of Jesus name of God can mean any God in any religion but the name of Jesus is particular to the Christian religion because Jesus is the Christ chris John are you that. Our government today they approve of aborting millions of kids over the years millions. And have you don’t like it you are a hater. One-third of female children are sexually abused every year.

What does he say about children today?

▶ Watch this part (14:17)

Short answer: He cites statistics on child sexual abuse and its effects, and says the church world sits quiet; we’re not fighters anymore.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 14:17 One-sixth of male children are sexually abused and what people don’t tell you is 50% of all homosexual men were abused by an adult as a child and that. Experience. Created a homosexual tendency in them folks that’s called recruiting I’ve been telling the church world and the public world for decades that homosexuals recruit they are lying to you and they recruit young children and especially teenagers who are naive and don’t have biblical understanding and don’t have parents that are guarding and protecting them are you there our civil government accepts this stuff I don’t care if they’re democrats or republicans and the.

▶ 15:12 Church world to my amazement just sits quiet. We’re not fighters anymore we got it we we talked between ourselves but we don’t go out there and take our grievances to the government are we. Hallelujah. Notice also that the soldiers obeyed Herod. Killing innocent kids could you as a soldier literally go kill an innocent kid if you were a Christian if you could that is horrible. It’s better to not be a soldier than to carry out a commandment that hurts innocent people and you can’t get more innocent than children.

▶ 16:08 Amen. The police are the same way they’re going to obey the governor they’re gonna obey the congress are going to obey the sacramento in california regardless right because they get a paycheck. Are you hearing me judge I’m telling you what happened back there is happening today and it’s important that we understand at the birth of Christ these things were going on Christ is trying to rebirth people today into his kingdom and birth himself in them and civil government is appeasing the church and opposing it could that be an amen and Christians fight with one another and we don’t unite together to fight the real battle to liberate children and bring people into the kingdom of God even if it cost us something.

How was Jeremiah’s Rachel prophecy fulfilled?

▶ Watch this part (17:14)

Short answer: A voice heard in Ramah, Rachel weeping for her children; the logic mind can’t get these hidden secrets.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 17:14 Could that be true. Now. It was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet a voice is heard in Ramah mourning, great weeping Rachel weeping for her children refusing comfort because they are no more the killing of all the children boys under three years old in Bethlehem the Bible’s is the fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:15. Now folks when I read my Bible the first time through it that is not the understanding I got I didn’t get the real understanding till I got to the New Testament. And it was told me what all this meant here is rhema right here a city a city in the tribe of benjamin.

▶ 18:10 Almost a hundred miles away from Bethlehem. How in the world is that the fulfillment. Are you there see the logic mind can’t get these hidden secrets out of the Bible it takes the Holy Ghost to do that and he only does that in his time. Now. Rachel. Was the mother of benjamin and Joseph. Okay Joseph was divided into two tribe ephraim and manasseh and they’re up here but benjamin was just north of judea and guess who the first king of Israel was a benjamite.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Jeremiah 31:15 (NKJV)

Thus says the LORD: “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more.”

— Jeremiah 31:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:14
Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 2:17-18 (NKJV)

Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more.”

— Matthew 2:17-18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:14

Why does the tribe matter?

▶ Watch this part (19:04)

Short answer: Saul was a Benjamite, but Genesis says the scepter would come from Judah.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:04 King Saul was a Benjamite not of the tribe of Judah which Genesis tells us out of Judah will come he that will rule and bring the law Judah was prophesied so the tribe of benjamin could never be used continually down the line because the prophecy was Judah are you there. See God just gave him a king because they wanted one a king was not God’s will for his people God’s will for his people is you rule your own life and you have a court and judges that correct you and punish you when you don’t. But when we get a ruler a tyrant one guy a sovereign he can just decide what he wants and the people have to follow or get punished whether right or wrong are you there God never ordained a king he ordained a group government all right ah.

▶ 20:16 So. Rachel did not birth Judah Leah did. So how in the world does this prophecy connect with Bethlehem you have to have spiritual understanding when this was said Israel was being carried away to Babylon for their sins and guess where they were carried away from a rhema and Rachel’s children were part of what the carrying away the captives of Judah the captives of Judah are you there. Is this making sense to you but it takes the Holy Ghost to reveal all that to you so the Holy Ghost then connects it to.

▶ 21:10 Christ’s. Birth and the killing of all these innocent children. See the birth of Christ is a lot more never remember this when the wise men came to Jerusalem the whole city was what moved. When the shepherd’s came down to see Jesus and worship him they went back and told everybody around and the Bible says everybody was moved by the shepherd’s preaching. Okay. But how many went down to that stable to that manger and worshipped him. How many went and followed the wise men to worship and give gifts to Jesus.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Genesis 49:10 (NKJV)

The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.

— Genesis 49:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:04

What is worship?

▶ Watch this part (22:05)

Short answer: Worship includes bowing the knee; most macho men won’t, and most American churches won’t bow to Christ.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 22:05 They were moved. But they did not move. You get a man most macho men would not bow their knee. That’s what worship is worship includes bowing the knee. This is what these wise men did they come before this little baby or 40-day year-old child and they bowed their knee and they worshiped they they honored him they adored him they loved him it is an act that says I am lower than you you are supreme and I recognize your sovereignty your kingship and I worship you and I love you.

▶ 23:03 Throughout the church world today in America most churches are not going to bow their knee to Christ the catholics do it better than we do as protestants are just too good to bow the knee but the birth of Christ is about bowing the knee to the king of kings the Lord of lords the savior of the world amen. Hallelu so we as a musicians come we know for beneficial things from these scriptures both natural and spiritual okay. As. The musicians come as the worship team comes.

▶ 23:56 We’re moving a little slow this morning and the children can be dismissed to their activity all right. That way as adults have no excuse but to worship him. If we choose to everything people say you don’t have a free will that’s not true you can either bow your knee or you don’t have to bow your knee it’s it’s your freewill it’s your choice you can serve God or you don’t serve God you can believe in God or you don’t believe in God it’s your choice you have a freedom to choose. Jesus went into Egypt when the wise men departed we got that when he when the wise men left he went and he was taken into Egypt that was less than three years after seeing his star in the east he got it and it only took.

▶ 24:55 Four months to travel from the east got it. Now. And you’re in these three during this time at the end of this three years. Herod killed all the children under three years of eight. Now. Less than three years before returning back to where they saw the star they saw king Jesus. They went to see him they went to meet with him personally and counter him personally are you willing to come and encounter Jesus Christ. See this birth of Jesus is a lot more than just Jesus being born there are some powerful things happening here folks that the Bible wrote down so we would believe and in believing we would have eternal life.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 2:11 (NKJV)

And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

— Matthew 2:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:05

What did the wise men do with the star?

▶ Watch this part (25:55)

Short answer: They didn’t settle for the star; they followed its message to encounter Jesus and give gifts. Tithing is a little thing that brings big things.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 25:55 Now. They saw his star in the east and came to give gifts they didn’t settle for the star they followed the message of the star and came to encounter Jesus and give him gifts the greatest gift you can give him is. Your life. And if you want a real key to the riches of God pay your tithe the Bible says if you can’t trust God with the small things he’s not going to trust you with the big things the true riches it says in Luke the true riches is the wisdom of God the knowledge of God are you there the truth of God the true riches. Hallelujah.

▶ 26:53 Those are the little things tithing is a little thing that will bring you big thing. The church has to have money to get the word out the church has to have money to take care of those who get saved and need help that’s the two main responsibilities of the cheque we got to get the word out get them saved and then we got to grow them up in the word and we got to take care of them until they can stand on their own two feet amen. And then they worshiped him they bowed that knee grown men. And. These men had such an impact on Jerusalem when they came that the whole city was moved.

▶ 27:48 And these men bowed their knee and told Jesus I love you I recognize you as the king of kings the Lord of lords a great I am the savior of the world and they bowed their name. We’re going to sing a song out of Revelations oh. Remember they didn’t worship the star the sign. You know there’s a whole group in America saying that it’s a sign and false prophets are given signs and that listen. God can do miracles without us worshiping miracles. Amen. We got to get into God’s thinking not human thinking they didn’t worship the star they didn’t stop at the star they went to the one the star pointed to and it is a supernatural experience that when you hear the gospel you are moved to come to Jesus that is a supernatural sign faith comes by hearing the word you didn’t come to Jesus by faith you came to Jesus by the word creating faith in you to come to him.

Who gets the credit for salvation?

▶ Watch this part (29:14)

Short answer: Not faith: Jesus and His word, which convicted you to come to Him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 29:14 So who gets the credit does faith get the credit no Jesus and his word gets the credit because he used his word to convict you to come to him amen. We understood to impossible prophecies. That we would never have understood if God didn’t reveal them to us and I submit to you we’re not so smart about this endtime stuff.

Can we predict end-time events?

▶ Watch this part (29:54)

Short answer: Many think they have revelation connecting Daniel to Revelation, but He will reveal it when He does it, as no one predicted the wise men.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 29:54 At all. We go with our human brain and we connect Daniel to Revelation, a big people think every day I’m hitting people that think they have the gift of Revelation revealing Revelation and Daniel when Daniel himself said I heard but I didn’t understand Daniel the prophet himself said I didn’t understand what was told me but oh we can go to Bible college and we can do some quick word checking up in the concordance and oh we got it we know what’s happening pre-tribulation rapture post-tribulation rapture pre millennium post millennium oh man I got it how come if we got it everybody is in disagreement how come everybody’s getting something different the truth is like when Christ came the first time and he revealed things as he went.

▶ 30:53 That’s exactly thank you sir that’s exactly what he’s going to do it the second coming when he starts doing these things he’s going to reveal it to us could I be an amen so let’s don’t get mad at each other because we have different second coming theories they’re all theories even Jesus said no man but the father knows the time in the hour and we got people predicting the kemeny are all the time when the Bible says and they’ll even say nobody knows and then they’ll say what’s going to happen they do you just told me nobody knows and now you’re telling me what’s going to happen are you there and the people get all goose-bumpy answered oh boy oh what we need to get goose-bumpy ish about Jesus. It wasn’t to cross that delivered us from sin it was the person on the cross you got that it wasn’t grace that saved it from sin it’s Jesus who was filled with grace.

▶ 32:04 Amen. Were in the Bible do you find that predicting wise men coming from the east when Jesus was born. It’s not there. Where in the Bible would you find the shepherd’s are going to be visited by God to go worship Jesus it’s not there. And. We think we’re so smart today. That we understand the second coming and we don’t I know a person that in the 70s preached that Christ would not come in his lifetime. And he got attacked and everything else because everybody else is a coming in a minute he’s coming in in 1960 coming in 1964 coming in 1972 coming in 1978 and just coming coming coming coming and he didn’t come.

▶ 33:11 But because it’s popular we believe it and there’s one person that I know preached that it wasn’t gonna happen in his lifetime and they said well you’re just gonna die early. And that person’s with us today. Are you there church we need to get hyped up about Jesus not the second coming not faith not grace we need to get back to this man called Jesus who is the savior of the world the king of kings the Lord of lords the great I am we need to get back to humbling ourselves and worshiping him and showing we love him as Jesus said by keeping his word.
