Pastor David G. Kincer asks what Jesus saves us from: sin, this present evil world, evil people—told through a motel break-in where God’s peace kept him—fear, sickness, the wrath to come and the second death. He examines the fearful, the unbelieving, the abominable and murderers of Revelation 21:8, shows from Scripture that God hates evil, and says Christians who stand for right are not haters.

▶ 0:00 Okay we’re gonna get into the word remember we gave you a song Jesus saves and then we asked ourselves what does he save us from how many can remember those things what’s the first thing he saves us from sin yes sin is a violation of God’s word. What’s the next one. Now what’s the next one he delivered us from this present evil world and I shared with you last week that he does that by giving us a pattern to follow a commandment to follow and that commandment was don’t run with the crowd to do evil see evil companions corrupt good character good people cannot run with the evil doers and stay good are you there alleluia but I also want to show you a story in my own life that he delivers us from present evil people I was [unclear] southern convention about 30 years ago and it goes late into the night and I was going to drive home got in my car to drive home and I didn’t know there was a rock concert.

How did God deliver him from evil people?

▶ Watch this part (1:15)

Short answer: Stuck in rock-concert traffic, he took a cheap motel; at 2 a.m. robbers broke down his door. He prayed “God I’m in your mercy now,” gave up his ring and wallet, and they left.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:15 Springsteen or somebody like that was doing a rock concert and they got out at the same time and the traffic was just jammed we weren’t moving and the rockers were out of their cars just rocking away and here I am stuck in all this traffic so I decided well after sitting there for a while I’m gonna just find me a hotel a motel somewhere and so I did I got off and by the airport there’s a Hilton you know Holiday Inn and all these fancy high tower hotels and I thought well I’ll save some money there’s a little hotel just two blocks from them I’ll save myself 40 or 50 bucks here so I signed up and got that room and went in there and about two o’clock in the morning I heard some people knocking on doors saying Mabel are you in there Mabel are you in there and I knew that from Detroit that’s a scheme that’s scam you know they’re just finding a way to get into your room and rob you and beat you up and all that so they came to the one right next door to me and the guy was saying don’t you come in here my wife’s in here my kids in here don’t you guys come in here I ain’t no Mabel no Mabel in here don’t you come in here and he actually talked them into coming to my door then they started knocking on my door and I thought I’ll just be quiet I’ll just lay low they’ll think the room is empty well the

▶ 2:46 next thing I know bam. That door swung open the whole frame where the lock was just went flying through the air now your body goes into slow motion just like when I shot myself the body went into slow motion you know I mean very slow motion I can just I can still see that piece of wood just flying through the air oh my God some lock if you think you’re safe because of a lock these guys [unclear] or hitting with something just busted that doorframe and they come in one came in and headed toward me in the bed one came in and headed I had a kitchenette in the room headed toward there and one stood beside the door and one stood outside the door and then I turned over.

▶ 3:38 Pulled the covers over my head because if they thought I could identify them I was dead meat so the guy that came to my bed crawled up on top of me and I remember saying these words Lord God I’m in your mercy now [unclear] the result of this totally depends on you [unclear] I didn’t say all that I just said God I’m in your mercy now I’m in your mercy now and so the guy climbed up [unclear] on top of me he called out to the [unclear] waste this guy and then I put my hands on the head because I figured here comes the blows I put my hands over my head and the guy started jiggling with my ring he wanted to get my ring off my finger and of course most of you guys it don’t come off very easily does it when you’re you were young and thin it fit great but now that you’re old and plump you know a little time getting it off so I got my hand and I got the ring off the finger and they started asking me question how much money is in your wallet and all this stuff and and then.

Was he afraid?

▶ Watch this part (4:50)

Short answer: No—the peace of God was there. As a ten-year-old robbed at knifepoint in Detroit he was terrified, but this time he wasn’t. The officer said most people don’t walk away from that.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:50 The guy got off of me hallelujah and then one of the guys lifted up the covers have you any reason why you think that guy lifted up the covers because most people poop or pee their pants when they are frightened like that. You’ve never been in that kind of fear oh man you didn’t live in Detroit did you. The first time this happened to me as a ten year old boy I pooped my pants a gang of thugs grabbed me threw me into a [unclear] doorway and put a knife to my throat wanting my money and I literally pooped my pants. Anyway I didn’t poop my pants or pee my pants the peace of God was there I’m sharing this with you so anyway there was silence for a long time they stopped talking slowly and then there was silence for a long time and then I peeked out of the covers and they were gone.

What are the wages of sin?

▶ Watch this part (5:56)

Short answer: Romans 6:23: the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Revelation 21:8: the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers… shall have their part in the lake of fire, the second death.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 5:56 The police came and the officer said reverend what are you doing in this hotel and I said officer there’s a Holiday Inn and a Hilton just right down the street I figured it was safe that officer said never get into a hotel where the doors open outside they have to go through a main door to get to your door I said I got it he says you know most people do not walk away from this he said you’re very fortunate and I was but see God delivered me literally from the evil people you got that young ones God is on your side he will keep his word toward you hallelujah yeah now. Romans 6:23 the wages of sin is death the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord what is this death that the wages that is the wages of sin Revelation 21:8 the fearful the unbelieving the abominable..

God who raised Jesus from the dead delivers us from the wrath to come there is a season of wrath where God is going to pour out his judgments upon the earth and we’re not going to be raptured out of these judgments that we are going to be delivered from them just like Israel was not raptured out of the judgments of Egypt they were what delivered out of them you see alleluia no darkness came in their dwellings you see. Psalms 103 verse 3 who forgives all your iniquities and heals what [unclear] he delivers sicknesses give God a chance even with the flu give God a chance you he is a loving honest God that will back up his word Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord and he heard me delivered me from what all my fears see there was not an ounce of fear in that hotel room.

Who are the fearful?

▶ Watch this part (9:06)

Short answer: John 9 and 12: the blind man’s parents feared being put out of the synagogue, and many rulers believed but did not confess Jesus, fearing the Pharisees—pressure to please church, religion or parents.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:06 He delivered me from fear are you there kids do you understand that all right God is real and he will be with you when you get in difficult [unclear] he will perform you can count on that oh yeah I don’t know if these adults want to hear that but I know you kids need to hear it oh yeah now let’s look at the fearful John 9 12 a blind boy’s parents in this in this chapter feared the Jews and that they would be put out of the synagogue so they would not answer the Jewish leaders questions many of the chief rulers of the Jews believed. Amen they believed everybody said I’m a believer okay here’s chief rulers that believed.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 9:22 (NKJV)

His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

— John 9:22 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:39 (quoted; reference not named in the message)
Scripture (NKJV)

— John 12:42-43 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:49 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

Who are the unbelieving?

▶ Watch this part (10:00)

Short answer: John 3:18: he who does not believe is condemned already. You will be accountable for your own decisions, so learn the word of God.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:00 That Jesus was the messiah that Jesus was the way but they didn’t confess Jesus why for fear the Pharisees would put them out of the synagogue the pressure to please your church the pressure to please your religion the pressure to please the teachings and doctrines that you’ve been brought up with my mom and dad [unclear] can become so strong that you don’t accept Jesus and his word and stand for it because instead of pleasing God you want to please what the church leaders your parents or whoever the megachurch on TV. John 3:18 he that believes not on Jesus is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten son so the unbeliever.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 3:18 (NKJV)

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

— John 3:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:48

Who are the abominable?

▶ Watch this part (10:59)

Short answer: Titus 1:16: they profess to know God but in works deny him—abominable, disobedient, reprobate. Believing and confessing without good works denies him; Christian character is the gold.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:59 Starts by not believing on Jesus you can be a good man and if you hear the message of Jesus it is so powerful that if you don’t respond you’re condemned to that eternal lake of fire are you there. [unclear]. You know you can you can justify your thinking and you can justify your belief and you can justify your actions but God’s gonna hold you accountable in the end you’re gonna be accountable once you turn 20 you’re gonna be accountable you can’t say my parents you can’t say the neighborhood you can’t say anything you are accountable for your decisions so you need to learn the word of God all right in Titus chapter 1 verse 16 the abominable they profess that they know God okay they even confess these guys believe and they confess.

▶ 11:59 how many know most Americans [unclear] belief yeah they never tell anybody they’re Christian they never witness and these guys they profess and they believe but in works they deny him being abominable hateful dislike. Disdained and disobedient unto what every good work reprobate reprobate means unprincipled. No Christian character no Christian values and so they’re abomination is they hate they dislike the good works that the Bible says for us to do. now [unclear] are you with me so we can believe and we can confess but what if we don’t do the good works we are denying him.

▶ 13:00 So we can’t stay in belief we can’t stay in confessing I can I can testify and I can witness to thousands of people that doesn’t make me a great Christian what makes me a great Christian is I do his good works are. You there yeah are there some people can’t witness there it’s just not in them they get scared to death [unclear]. Most of us when we pray we’ll never see a miracle we just pray and God does things and God doesn’t do things but if that person is good and they’re following the good principles of God.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Titus 1:16 (NKJV)

They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

— Titus 1:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:47

Who are murderers?

▶ Watch this part (13:52)

Short answer: 1 John 3:15: whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and no eternal life abides in him. He says the word “hate” has been redefined to label Christians.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:52 They are professing Christ in action. Now. So it’s best to have what a good character whether you ever prophesy or pray for the sick and God heals somebody I’m talking about the office for the divine healing comes you can pray locally and all that but we’re talking about prophecy for the gifts of the spirit you may never have one of them but if you’ve got Christian character you’ve got the gold can I hear an amen alleluia. Now. So they are liars when they profess that they know God when they say they believe and professed they know God they are liars because their works deny him now let’s look at murders. First John 3:15 whosoever hates his brother is a what murderer and no eternal life abides in him he neither knows God that is eternal life to know God and neither will he live eternally in heaven and Paul is writing here and saying if you hate if you dislike if you despise if there’s emotional.

▶ 15:07 Dislike and a disdain in your heart for something you don’t have eternal life and there’s a big push right now using the word hate how many of you read the news lately yeah if you have a statue of Robert E. Lee you hate you see if you [unclear] don’t make a cake for the homosexual wedding you hate. All right if you stand up for the unborn to live you hate if you are a Christian that believes in the Bible that Bible is a hate book they have taken that word like they took the word gay that used to mean when I was a kid you’re happy you’re joyful they took the word and changed it they have a whole new meaning that you are a same-sex person now and this is what they’ve done with hate and when Christians don’t go to a church where they’re being taught the word and don’t get into the word they buy the message how many of you know a lie kept repeated ends up accepted it’s true.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 John 3:15 (NKJV)

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

— 1 John 3:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:43

Does God hate?

▶ Watch this part (16:10)

Short answer: Yes. Psalm 11:5: the wicked and the one who loves violence his soul hates. God can’t be wrong; we are the ones who are wrong.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:10 Yeah it’s true that’s why you need to be in what the Bible and a Bible teaching church. God hates say it God hates. Now when I preached this message 40 years ago some woman came up after the message said God can’t hate he’s got a love and [unclear] just dressed me down and I was using scripture and she used none. She just says God is love he can’t hate he can’t do anything wrong he can if he hates does that mean he’s wrong Psalms 11:5 read it with me the wicked and the violent the Lord hates. The Lord hates and who does he hate the wicked the evildoer and the violent those that bully people and and beat people up and shove people around like those guys [unclear] that came into my motel room the Lord hates them people he dislikes them he disdains them are you there now is God wrong.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Psalm 11:5 (NKJV)

The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.

— Psalm 11:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:10

What seven things does God hate?

▶ Watch this part (17:20)

Short answer: Proverbs 6:16–19: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, wicked plans, feet swift to evil, a false witness, and one who sows discord among brethren.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 17:20 No God can’t be wrong we’re the ones that’s wrong to confirm it Proverbs 6:16 7 things the Lord hates. How many things and what does he do about these things he hates them and they’re abomination to him okay he disdains them he dislikes them the proud those who think they’re better than others. I have junior Christians coming up to me all the time telling me how I used a word wrong like kid instead of child all right. And. I can go on and on and on but they they they’re young and they get a little verse and they get on the bandwagon instead of looking at the total picture okay.

▶ 18:22 God hates the proud those that think they’re better than and most people my point was most people who think they’re better than others really don’t know what they’re talking about. Okay. Liars. God hates them killers of innocent blood is the baby innocent you can’t get more innocent than a baby. Okay our children innocent okay sixteen hundred and some are murdered each year murdered. Six hundred thousand over six hundred thousand are sexually abused [unclear]. That’s innocent people we’re talking about and our government has been distracted with Russia collusion and hate this we’ve been distracted from the moral fiber of our nation on things that the enemy is trying to twist to bring us down do you understand that adults and I know the young ones don’t yet but the Bible says if they hear it later God will bring it out of them.

▶ 19:31 In that right yeah yeah they may not understand it now but in time God has something in their heart to bring out. Plans of the wicked they just they just plan to do wrong God hates it evildoers as we saw up here in the last verse false witnesses for people blame people without any evidence I just went through a struggle in a home where they wound up getting divorced because one of the spouses kept blaming the other spouse for something they had no evidence for and every time they tried to prove it it did not prove. And so they still got divorced. That’s a false witness when you blame someone to do something of doing something wrong and you have no evidence.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV)

These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

— Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:31

Is it wrong for Christians to hate evil?

▶ Watch this part (20:24)

Short answer: No—there’s nothing wrong with hating evil work and saying homosexuality and abortion for any reason are wrong. Don’t buy the lie that Christians who stand for right are haters.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 20:24 God hates that can I hear an amen and they that sow discord among the brethren and this is what the communists the socialists the liberals the Democratic Party for the majority and fifteen to twenty percent of the Republican Party is trying to do they’re trying to divide America and most of God’s people just don’t understand this stuff and God hates that division and a lot of Christians are voting and promoting these things because they’re ignorant of the Bible and they’re ignorant. [unclear] same old thing over and over and over salvation water baptism yeah same stuff over and over they don’t get into the depths of the Bible which sets you free the truth set you free hallelujah they only want to hear it.

▶ 21:23 [unclear] if God hates there’s nothing wrong with us hating the evildoer you see there’s nothing wrong with us disliking them and letting the world know that homosexuality is wrong that abortion for any reason is wrong. We should dislike it we should disdain it enough [unclear] and don’t let them shut you down in the name of [unclear] you just hate you’re just a racist you’re just a [unclear] no we’re Bible people and he wants us to do good works and so we honor good works and we hate look down on and dislike evil work amen now [unclear] don’t you buy this lie that Christians are haters because they want to stand up for right and don’t you buy the lie that Christians can’t stand up in their community for God.
