▶ 0:07 Good morning and welcome I want to thank you for joining us we’ve been talking about uh what is a Christian how do we know that we’re Christian uh what helps us understand we looked at the first Christians in antioch where they were first called the name Christians we looked at Paul’s example how he said imitate me as im I imitate Christ or follow my example as I follow the example of Christ we looked at Jesus Christ himself and what he did and what he said and the father last week and this week we’re going to be looking into the word of God and what makes us a Christian it’s that powerful word and this scripture here is so good and it sums up many things 2 Timothy 3:16 says all scripture is given by the inspiration of God it’s profitable for doctrine for reproof for correction for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for every good work and if you weren’t listening to that scripture this scripture scripture is saying so many things right now if you want to move forward in God

▶ 1:38 the scriptures the scripture has been given by the inspiration of God that we may be what. Complete if we want to come to completion it’s going to take the word of God it’s going to take specifically the Scriptures what is our already been written so. Powerful it’s for instruction in righteousness so it’s not just for the church 2,000 years ago it’s for you and me today in our year and every year it’s for human beings and people it’s our instruction it’s for reproof if you want to know uh something to validate your life with or reconcile.

▶ 2:33 Right at the end of the month uh businesses all throughout the world they reconcile with their bank statements right and they check what does the bank say what is my uh account say or did I have all my my records kept and if there’s something missing they make it right and are we reconciling our lives with God’s ‘s word God’s word is so important if you apply it to your life you can keep yourself from a lot of harm you can keep yourself from the enemy coming in and attacking you because you’ve made bad choices because you walked right in to the kingdom of darkness with a bad decision okay the word of God is so important it helps us understand what truth is you remember first Psalms 1:1 says blessed is the man who does not sit in the seat of the scornful.

▶ 3:38 Help me out here nor stands in the path of sinners sits in the seat of the scornful and there’s one more no there’s one more there’s three of them he stands doesn’t stand in the path nor sits in the seat as. Scornful uh we’ll we’ll get back to that but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in it he meditates day in light if we want to be blessed if you want to be blessed in life you’ve got to keep pull yourself out you know just knowing these scriptures it it it it should challenge you what am I doing with my life where am I putting myself. ▶ 4:30 These scriptures are written thousands of years ago but if you apply them to your life today it will bless your life that’s how we know God is real that’s how you know his word is real because when you apply it to your life it works this scripture is so important and it says so much for correction if we want to correct our lives correct our children you know all this stuff God’s word is there for us Joshua 1 eight keep this book of the law always on your lips meditate on day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it then you will be prosperous and successful so uh the Bible talks about being a hearer of the word versus a doer of the word you you don’t want to just hear the word may come every week to Sunday to church and go to church you may read the Bible but if you don’t do what it says if you don’t follow it and follow its truths you will not be prosperous or successful and not just we’re not just talking about financially we’re talking about in your spirit if you want to be successful in having a whole person a a person who is.

▶ 5:46 Um able to be. Normal it’s God’s word that’s going to get you there and following it amen. Psalm 119:105 your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path if we want guidance in our life that word that scripture is a guide for our lives Colossians 3:16 let the word of God dwell in you richly put a lot of it in you let it be dwell let it dwell in you richly not just words coming in I heard it yeah I listen to it richly talking about a word that you understand something that feeds you something that’s oh my gosh there’s a there’s a difference between macaroni and cheese and a ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and and you know there’s a difference right and when you eat that meal it’s oh man this is so good every time I have a steak which is you know anytime they have it on sale at the store.

▶ 6:54 I make it with the butter and and you eat it it’s just like oh my gosh is so. Good let the word of God dwell in you richly. Amen you don’t just throw anything in your mouth want to make sure that it’s it’s rich uh I’m sorry you got to put it all in your mouth but you also want it to dwell in you richly amen for teaching admonishing one another in all. Wisdom Psalms 1:2 his delight is in the law of the Lord as I already expressed uh bringing up this Psalms 1:1 and in his law he meditates day and night in Matthew 22 verse 29 Jesus replied and he replied to a question about uh the f the Sadducees were asking you know if a man has a wife and he dies and it happens seven times and this w this woman has seven husbands whose wife will she be in heaven.

▶ 8:00 And his reply is you are what in. Error because you do not what know the scriptures or the power of God so not only do they not understand what has already been written but they don’t understand the power of God his resurrection is powerful and God is asking us today. Simply are we living in. Error is our life in. Error are you living your life with a clear conscience or with guilt. Uncertainty or a numb conscience I have done this since I was young so it’s.

▶ 8:53 It’s you know as a teenager I never wanted to have a conscious that was bothering me amen I didn’t want to live with guilt I didn’t want to live with the weight so if there’s some problem I I want to take I want to get it taken care of amen and you want to live your life that we let you know you don’t want to live in air you don’t want to live with the weight around every day of your life that you’re carrying it’s a load. And one of the really nice things about trusting God with your behavior you know you say okay God fine I’m going to listen to you I’m going to stop lying you know even though lying has worked for me so far I’m going to stop giving myself over to uh girls or guys attention um and give you my attention first trust you to feel my need I’m going to work and learn and trust you to bless what I put my hands to do instead of stealing instead of uh trying to you know sell drugs or whatever it may be I’ve got to make a living I don’t understand God you.

▶ 10:11 Know are we living in. Error because we do not know the Scriptures are we going to work. Honestly are we listening to the world for truth are we listening to God and his truth I’ve heard it said that you know live your truth and it’s you know you can throw that statement out it’s not about our truth it’s not about his truth her truth it’s about whose truth God’s truth. Amen and so the first thing that Jesus. Addresses they say whose wife will she be in heaven uh there’s religions out there that believe that when they go to heaven that they’re going to have virgins in heaven to you know mate with and uh islam believes that mormons believe that and believe that they’ll continue their marriage in heaven and uh Christ is answering that question.

▶ 11:19 Here and poor women right you know us men get to have you know wait where’s my women at you’re my slaves. You know the uh that’s not how God sees the world right he says it’s I see nei neither uh Jew nor Gentile male nor female slave nor free God isn’t looking down at us saying oh there’s that woman I got to get him get her ready to for this man up in heaven no he’s looking at you as an individual that he’s going to hold accountable just like the man amen and he’s looking at you that he’s he’s wants to reward in heaven amen just like the men and there’s going to be some women that are casting down their crowns.

▶ 12:14 Amen not just. Men at the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage they will be like the angels in heaven. So we’re not going to be having uh you know our bodies are not going to be the same they’re going to be different okay and a lot of people are going to have a hard time when they have lived a life of sin and they die and all of a sudden their body is different and they realize wait a second where am. I is that. Jesus uh uhoh. I knew I shouldn’t have done that I knew I shouldn’t have treated people that way I knew I should have controlled myself but I.

▶ 13:09 Didn’t and they’re going to have to stand before God and give an account their desire is not going to be there that they had for alcohol for drugs their desire is not going to be there for the opposite sex and they’re going to stand and and think what what was I thinking I wish I would have. Known but Matthew 2231 but about the resurrection of the dead have you not read what God said to you I am the God of Abraham the God of Isaac the God of Jacob he is not the God of the dead but of the living so this is Jesus’s answer and it’s u this is for um some understanding here is needed he’s talking to the Sadducees the Sadducees believe in the first five books of the Bible the torah and so God is quoting out of which book he’s quoting out of Exodus okay he’s quoting out of the torah.

▶ 14:11 And he’s quoting I am the God of the Abraham Isaac and of Jacob and Jesus is saying here that that statement even though Abraham Isaac and Jacob are. Dead uh this scripture in Exodus 3:6 is saying that they’re still alive and they’re alive in heaven with God so Jesus is showing them by the scriptures that they believe in hey here’s the resurrection right here and it goes back to his first statement you error because you don’t know the scriptures you’ve heard it you may have memorized it but you don’t understand. Amen and we have to gain knowledge of the scriptures first before you can understand you have to have knowledge of the scriptures so they’re not wrong to know the torah or the scriptures but you need to understand what it’s saying and you can’t just go around saying oh there’s no resurrection when it’s right there in what you’re.

▶ 15:26 Reading the Bible will change your life John 11:25 Jesus said unto her I am the resurrection and the life and he who believes in me though he may die he shall live and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die do you believe this talking to. Martha so here Jesus is answering there question but later on when he’s about to call Lazarus out of the tomb he says I am am the resurrection now it’s no wonder that the Sadducees didn’t believe in the resurrection because they didn’t believe in Jesus either who is the resurrection. Amen when the crowds heard this they were astonished at his teaching hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees the Pharisees got together so the Sadducees don’t believe in the resurrection Pharisees do and so they they’re loading their guns right because they want to take Jesus out they are you know getting ready to ask their question.

▶ 16:37 And in Matthew 22:35 one of them an expert in the law tested Jesus with this question I’m not going to go into that question I’m just talking about their interaction with Christ was to test him to test his word but Christ anytime he answered their question they were what a astonished at his what. Teaching and it’s very important that we have good and right teaching if we don’t follow God’s teaching and we invite sin in our life we invite the kingdom of darkness into our life it’s not going to do you any good to go and and get up and say oh thank you Jesus for this wonderful day now it’s good it’s really good you should say thank you you should pray but if after that that you go and you violate God’s word you’re inviting problems and consequences from sin and the guilt and the shame all along with that the hurt that comes from that and we are responsible to understand what the scriptures say what God is.

▶ 17:55 Saying and in America we like to mock God we like to test God and I have these pictures up here for the smartest men you have albert ide everybody knows that guy uh he’s the highest iq over there in china I believe I don’t remember his name neil deg grassy tyson he’s always on tv talking about uh evolution and steven hawking he’s already died but he was talking about u the origin of the universe and all that how you know we don’t need God. Um but you know these men were to have their conversation with God they would be silenced as. Well and uh Jesus Christ his knowledge and his um his answers are powerful he says the scriptures say that he was at the beginning we got to remember that how powerful God is and how much he knows and how much he understands he was there at the beginning so if you think you’re going to try to trip up Christ you’re.

▶ 19:05 Wrong but these religious people who were talking to Jesus they had an encounter with Christ they got their questions answered and the answers were in the scriptures that they believed in but they uh they uh never saw it in the scriptures and they didn’t understand it and so it’s important for us to have an encounter with Christ and his word now these Sadducees didn’t respond right right they got mad the Pharisees wanted to catch him in another question um they’re just trying to shut him up but there’s other people in the scriptures and in uh our lives.

▶ 19:46 Today that have had an encounter with Christ and it has impacted them I want to share this guy talking about exactly that let’s see here I choose is us I wish I’ had known earlier I wish I hadn’t thought that I was too clever for the religion of my grandmothers I thought that I was too smart I thought somehow that I knew what was in the Bible even without reading it reading it it’s blowing my mind on the daily basis I can’t believe the profundity the depth the incredible beauty the deep truth available to all of us and I know there are many ways of receiving the lord’s truth and the lord’s wisdom by trans forming me very quickly I didn’t make a choice tucker and I mentioned the way that you operate as well that there is a kind of surrender I’m not saying that I’m without shame I’m not saying that I’m without fear I’m not saying that a points I don’t feel compromised and uncertain I’m saying that since being baptized since becoming Christian since surrendering to him I feel his presence continually I feel it now I feel it in this moment and I feel free.

▶ 21:02 Russell bran he’s an actor and he’s recently gotten baptized recently changed a lot of his mindset but he’s talking about reading the Bible and how he thought he knew what was in it but he never read it and that’s like a lot of people today you know we assume we know what the Bible says we assume oh I know I don’t need that but when he actually you know got saved and started reading it he’s finding it so powerful and it’s changing him on a daily basis and uh that’s a great testimony he’s encountering Christ in the word and we need that as well.

▶ 21:52 Amen Jeremiah 31:34 I’m sorry and I don’t want to prop him up like he’s a great Christian or anything just sharing he’s having an encounter with God in the in the scriptures specifically and we need to do the same thing Russell Branddt I I also saw uh kurt warner back in when he was playing football he would get up in the conference and he would have his Bible there and he would say I read this book on a daily basis is very important in my life and I want to thank my Lord and savior Jesus Christ and he had an encounter with God and Christ and the word of God and I’m just sh showing you some you know it’s not like this is some crazy thing people are experiencing this okay it’s true.

▶ 22:43 Amen it’s not some crazy idea it’s not some far off outlandish idea it’s happening Jeremiah 31:34 no more shall every man teach his neighbor for they all shall know me from the least of them to the greatest of them I have a picture of uh the veil here when Jesus Christ died on the cross it says that the veil was torn in two and the veil is what separates the holy place from the holy of holies and only the high priest could go into to the holy of holies so for years many years uh us regular folks I mean the regular Jews I mean we’re Gentiles right we couldn’t even go in uh but the the Jews could not go into that holy of holies but now. Jesus has rent the veil and it says in Hebrews chap 10: 19 having boldness what do you have what boldness to enter the holiest.

▶ 23:49 Hallelujah by the blood of Jesus Christ because of his death on the cross because of his blood he has given us what what boldness to enter the holy of holies by a new living way which he consecrated for us through the veil that is his flesh he has done it by his death on the cross he’s made that. Way and when we meet Christ when you encounter Christ he has a way of answering your questions in a way that you can understand and that’s why it’s so important for you to have an encounter with Christ you’ve got to meet Christ for yourself you got to hear what the scriptures are saying and understand let the spirit impact you amen we all need to hear those scriptures and God speaks to every one of us differently using those same scriptures but they are a living word and they’re.

▶ 24:53 Powerful there is nothing keeping us from entering into the holy of holies but but ourselves you we can have as much of God as we are willing to put in the effort if you want to keep yourself distant from the holy of holies you can do that all your life and you can walk by and you can let God the opportunity walk by I mean churches are open every week God is he’s he’s in the house of God he is uh he’s. Available but we have a choice of whether or not we’re going. To put in the effort to come to his place where he. Is and this is a quick picture here of the Moses’s tabernacle it starts with the door at the bottom Jesus Christ is the door it says in the scriptures uh the next thing you find is the brazen altar and I think I’ve gone through this in the past uh the an altar is where the sacrifices were done and Jesus Christ is our sacrifice the scriptures say the labor is where they would wash it was a a.

▶ 26:07 Like a pool of water right and how do we how do we get washed we get baptized. Amen and then you have the golden candlestick on the left which signifies the seven spirits of the Lord you have the table of showbread and then you have the altar of incense so we coming into the the the holy place and you know we can praise and thank and pray unto God and we are fulfilling what this thing is about all right we don’t go to this place anymore nobody’s going you know I don’t have a veil here with the holy place and the holy of holies and the ark you know that’s not here it’s all fulfilled by the things that we exercise today that water baptism the blood of Jesus Christ accepting that over your life uh praying and praise and worship like we did this morning you we have a choice of whether or not we’re going to take the steps to get into where God is and it’s important as individuals I can’t take you with me Christians can’t take other here I’m going to drag you into the holy no you have to do it yourself you have to make a choice yourself am I going to to meet with God it’s going to take your decision your praise to get you into the next stage that table of showbread it

▶ 27:38 says there the word of God uh also could be the fellowship just coming to church being here you put yourself in the right place which is great but you want to get into the holy of holies and what is happening in the holy of holies what’s one of the most important things can someone tell me his presence that’s right the presence of God dwells on top of the mercy seat the ark of the covenant and we are that fulfillment of the ark of the covenant God wants to dwell in us amen and when we come in and and exercise those things we are preparing a place for him to dwell in if we distance ourselves from the house of God we distance oursel from God he doesn’t have to come in.

▶ 28:28 What do the scriptures say uh let the king of glory come in open wide your gates and be lifted up your doors and let the king of glory come in who is this king of glory he is the Lord strong and mighty if we don’t open up if we don’t exercise if we don’t put forth the effort he has there’s no requirement for him to come and dwell in you and I want dwelling in me amen if you just want to accept the cross then you’re just going to stay there I want it all I want to be in the room I want to make it to the full you know I want to make it all the way in don’t you.

▶ 29:25 Amen that is our goal here at the Vine Cluster church is to bring and to make a place for us to meet God in the holy of holies to experience his presence and also that living word the mana is inside the ark of the covenant the tablets are inside the ark of the covenant the aon’s b that that rod that budded is in there all of that we want to experience we want God’s word to speak to you directly we want you to touch and experience erience Christ so we don’t have to go to the temple over in Israel we don’t have to go to the temple that’s built in some other state or country we are the temple of the Holy Spirit amen and thank goodness cuz a lot of people can’t afford to go anywhere right what do the africans do that are poor and des they’re never going to go to another country you know what do they do they can be God’s temple right where they’re at that’s one of the wonderful things about God he is impartial he’s not partial to the rich because they can go to some temple.

▶ 31:52 A anda to Jesus. When I was younger we uh would work with the Korean church and uh they had a particular way of praying and they would start out and they would say. Trio and then they would start praying everybody all all together and it was one sound and just praying with all of their heart and it was birthed in korea and they brought it here to America and they you know there’s Korean churches. But you can’t you can’t deny the the the action that they’re doing they’re turning themselves into the temple of God so that God can come and they’re inviting God and uh it was very powerful to.

▶ 33:03 Experience in other countries I I bring this up because in other countries you find. Uh people that are devoted that you saw them there’s there’s thousands of people right and they’re gathered to pray it’s this this praying and this praise is it’s not some outlandish thing you go to other countries they’re doing it they’re exercising it that it’s powerful it’s. Inspiring let the name the Lord we pray.

▶ 34:07 So this is just an example I’m just showing you an example of people that are pursuing God they’re coming up a with a way that they can pursue God they’re coming right into the holy place they’re praying and they’re praising and they’re they’re trying to move forward they’re trying to press through to the holy of holies where they can meet with God experience the presence and the power of God and that’s what we need to do as American Christians we we have a customer mentality where we are the customer and God is supposed to give us something uh and we we want to get away from that we want to get back to God is the customer right we want to serve him we want to give him glory and him honor Mark 12:28. One of the scribes came and having heard them reasoning together perceiving that he had answered them.

▶ 35:05 Well Matthew 22:46 no one could say a word in reply from that day no one dared to ask him anymore questions so they came to question Christ he had the word he had the answer and I submit to you today that he has the word and the answer for your life today when you encounter him when you encounter his presence when you encounter his word it will transform your life he has an answer for you he has a way of answering your questions in John 3:1 we have an example of the right approach Nicodemus he was a ruler of the Jews so very similar to the Pharisees and the Sadducees that came to him before but Nicodemus came in a different way now he came by night because he’s investigating Jesus he’s coming you know by night because he doesn’t want anybody to know what he’s.

▶ 36:11 Doing right and he doesn’t want people like were you talking to Jesus I saw you talking to Jesus you can’t be here anymore he doesn’t want to get kicked out but he wants to know what Jesus has to say and one of the things the first thing he says we know that you are a teacher that has come from God so. You we see immediately Nicodemus is coming with a humble attitude amen and we need to change the way we come to God are we coming to him with humility are we coming with our pride he said no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him so Nicodemus says again that God is with Christ. Jesus now at that time nicus didn’t understand that he was God um there’s somebody at the door Jesus answered and said to him most assuredly I say to you unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God so Jesus starts to bring up and uh a topic and Nicodemus didn’t even ask about this to topic but Christ says you must be born again and Nicodemus responds and he says what.

▶ 37:37 How how can a man be born when he is old you see Nicodemus exchange here he’s asking he’s saying how can this happen I want to understand he’s not trying to catch Jesus he’s not trying to make Jesus look stupid he wants to know and that’s we need to approach God this way can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born God I don’t understand Jesus I don’t understand what are you saying you know this doesn’t make sense in what I know and Jesus. Replies with his reply in John 3:9 Nicodemus answered how can these things be so he keeps saying how I don’t understand how can this be and if you I I didn’t read realized this before but John this is John chapter 3.

▶ 38:33 Right and Nicodemus says how can this things be this is 3:9 and what comes after this is the most famous scripture in the whole wide world or at least in America John 3:16 in this response is John 3:16 for God so love the world and so Jesus because Nicodemus comes to Christ and inquires and asks and he’s humble and he’s. Submitting Jesus reveals to him powerful answers and powerful scriptures and one of them is the most famous scripture in America today why because Nicodemus humbled himself he came to God to find understanding and we needed to come to God that same way to find understanding.

▶ 39:33 Amen so Christ gives a full understanding of being reborn to the kingdom and what condemns us to hell if we love men love darkness rather than light uh n Nicodemus didn’t need it to get it from a second hand as we learned in the new covenant that said all shall know me from the least to the greatest amen we can know God we can talk to God ourselves we can just reading his word is you going directly to Jesus Christ himself you’re not going through another way when you read a book that somebody writes and tells you what’s in the Bible you’re going you’re going another way right you’re not going to Christ. Himself but we can go to Christ ourselves today and receive an answer.

▶ 40:33 And sometimes we don’t know the question to an even. Ask. Nicodemus he didn’t ask some crazy question like how do I get born again you know he’s just he’s just like I know you’re a great teacher uh help me out here what’s happening and Jesus begins to reveal and give things for them for him did you know you can be born again and nicod is like what what. How but he didn’t even know to ask that question amen but because of his humility because of his uh submitting unto God to Jesus Christ he was able to learn a lot of things that we are learning today amen.

▶ 41:30 It’s Jesus replies and he says to the Pharisees you do not know the scriptures nor the power of God and the word of God is powerful Genesis. 1:3 God said let there be light and there was light it happened it was created when he said the words amen so his word is powerful the scriptures say that his word is above his name and mark chapter 4:39 he rebuked the wind and he said to the wind peace be still and it was completely. Calm amen it was completely calm why cuz he spoke he said the word he didn’t use some kind of uh voldemort technology where he sucked the the this out of he spoke he didn’t wave a magic wand he spoke amen the word of Christ the word of God is powerful and scriptures say that he prays for.

▶ 42:45 Us he prayed for Peter how many you want words coming out of Christ’s mouth for you I do. Because when he. Prays we understand here stuff happens you know I could say oh carpet roll up right now it’s not going to. Happen but it’s different when Jesus says something amen it’s different when Jesus prays for you and he’s praying for you and you can ask him God please pray for. Me Jesus called and loud voice and he said to Lazarus come forth he said take away the stone and the people took away the stone and all that was between Lazarus and Jesus was a bunch of space and he spoke come forth and Lazarus came forth Lazarus came back from the dead the maggots were eating his body he was decomposing he was 4 days dead they said his body stinks by now why because it’s been.

▶ 43:58 Deteriorating the flies. The and Jesus by his word gets rid of all of that reverses the whole process makes him whole can you believe that just by his word his word is that. Powerful Matthew 8:8 the centurion said but just say the word and my servant will will be healed the word healed the centurion. Servant it wasn’t the waving of the hand it wasn’t a wand it was the word of God and his words are so powerful and they’re so important I submit to you today it’s important that we don’t let a day go by where we do not put God’s word into us.

▶ 44:57 Find a way to take time to put God’s word into your mind find a way to take time to pray to ask God to pray for you to open up the Psalms you can open up the Psalms and you can sing a Psalm every day you can pray a Psalm every day you can you may not even understand what it’s saying do it do it you know if this one doesn’t make sense move on to the next one. You can open up a proverb and you can pray for these wisdom these things to uh be installed in. You amen. Amen James says to ask for wisdom in Proverbs there’s things about wisdom and talks about wisdom you can say God please I pray for. Wisdom.

Amen we want to take some time right now to seek God to respond to his word and uh so going back to what we’re talking about this morning the word of God are we living in error do we know the scriptures are we willing to follow what the scriptures say are we willing to let the power of God work through that word amen do we understand how important how powerful his words are and that he has answers for us today we can encounter Jesus Christ we can experience him and this morning we want to exercise that. Tabernacle and come into the holy of holies by taking time to exalt him by uh bowing and worship.
