The Unchanging River of the Holy Spirit 09/22/2019: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer traces how the unchanging river of the Holy Spirit changed two men who failed badly. David sinned and his family fell apart, yet he prayed, take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Peter rebuked, cut and denied, yet Jesus prayed for him and restored him to feed His sheep. We get up because we failed.
What does the unchanging river do?
Short answer: The unchanging river of the Holy Spirit changes people’s lives, as we see in David and Peter.
▶ 0:00 We’re going to take a look at the unchanging river of the Holy Spirit and that unchanging river of the Holy Spirit changes people’s lives and we’re gonna take a look at king David and apostle Peter a thousand years apart almost exactly a thousand years apart alright to show you that God is consistent some people say the Old Testament is not for today they are lying through their teeth where do you think Jesus preached from Old Testament what do you think he amplified the Old Testament what do you think he fulfilled the Old Testament the Old Testament is for our learning and our admonition on whom the ends of the world are come are we at the end of the ages yes then the Old Testament is what for our learning and our admonition as well as the New Testament can I hear an amen oh.
▶ 0:56 Now. First we see David. Now you got to remember God chose David just like he chose Saul king Saul king Saul disobeyed God and God rejected him from being king and God took the Holy Spirit from him but David is anointed and chosen by God he had a heart after God I mean you know that makes a big difference a heart after God yes he is pursuing God and pursuing truth and so the spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward that means the spirit never left him that day forward from then until the day of his death the Holy Ghost stuck with him did Jesus say I will never leave you nor forsake you yes can we leave him yes.
Will God leave you?
Short answer: No. However bad your circumstances, Jesus is with you; you can take that to the bank.
▶ 1:50 But he’ll never leave you and you can count on that you can take that to the bank and deposit it I don’t care how bad your circumstances are Jesus is with you and just like he was with the shadrach meshach and abednego in the fire you will come out of this trial you’ll come out of this trouble you’ll come out of this difficult time we run singed. Is that an amen yes. Yes. Don’t give glory till the problem give glory to the one who can solve the problem hmm. Now. David wasn’t timid like king Saul king Saul hid behind the stuff David went out and saw a lion and a bear when he was in his teens he didn’t wait for adulthood then David went out and slew a nine and a half foot giant still in his team hey David what an timid at all hiding behind the stuff when the enemy came he confronted them can I hear an amen he had a heart after God.
Scripture in this part
Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV)
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
— Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:50What did David pray when he messed up?
Short answer: Take not Your Holy Spirit from me; restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Don’t be afraid to approach God.
▶ 3:02 Hallelujah. Now. Look at the heart that David had when he messed up and he messed up big time a lot bigger mess ups and we do all right. He prays take not your Holy Spirit from me do anything Lord whatever you want to do to punish me correct me chastise me but don’t take your Holy Spirit from me see that Holy Spirit is the key to his future not like Saul who the Holy Spirit was taken away from davey goes no way Lord don’t take the Holy Spirit from me because the Holy Spirit is the one that’s going to give me victory in my life change my life amen that is a good attitude he confessed his sin repented and he said God please don’t take your Holy Spirit from me and restore unto me the joy of salvation when he sin like that he lost the joy.
▶ 4:06 If you lost the joy you ought to go to God and say well what’s my problem Lord I need that joy back in that affair approach yeah man don’t be afraid to approach God with your problems not your friends your friends can’t deliver you set you free even counsel you right. David said that word has been my counselors all the days of my life if they’re not telling you the word forget it is that a good amen everybody’s got opinions but the lord’s word is truth and truth on that and the truth set you free not opinion now we come over 1,000 years later and Jesus is talking to all of his apostles disciples and he says you know him you have a relationship with him who’s him the spirit of truth you know the spirit of truth for he dwells with you and shall be in you and he’s talking to all of his apostles and Peter was one of them Peter you know the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit’s with you and on the day of Pentecost he’s going to be in you I’m gonna fill you with the Holy Spirit are you there there are two presence of the Holy Spirit we are the temple of the Holy Spirit temple of God the spirit of God dwells in us when you accept Christ Christ comes in the holy that God comes in but the baptism of Holy Ghost is a separate experience
Scripture in this part
Psalm 51:11-12 (NKJV)
Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
— Psalm 51:11-12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:02Is the Spirit with you or in you?
Short answer: He is with you and shall be in you; read your Bible and don’t argue with it.
▶ 5:37 I don’t care what they taught you out there you read your Bible and right here he says it he is with you what’s going to be in you amen is that clear absolutely don’t argue it over the Holy Ghost just get it is that a good statement debating about it we’ll never do anything for anybody just get it seek it and get it okay but look at his heart no. Peter had just seen his mother-in-law healed he had just seen multitudes healed and demons cast out and he’s out there fishing him and his fishermen and they had fished all night and caught nothing so Jesus approaches them in the morning and it says cast out your net and Peter goes look we’ve been working all night and we haven’t caught a thing now we’re right here by the shore there’s not even room for a lot of fish.
Scripture in this part
John 14:17 (NKJV)
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
— John 14:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:37What did Peter learn about obeying Jesus?
Short answer: He challenged Jesus but cast the net at His word; the net was full and he said, depart from me, I am a sinful man.
▶ 6:37 And Jesus said cast out the net okay. Been working all night but it’s your word will throw out the net bloom. The net was full are you there now look at the sensitivity of Peter’s heart. Disobeying here is not a hell sin and that right ain’t gonna go to hell for saying Lord I don’t believe I’m gonna be catching fish that’s not a health in at all it’s just a simple request by God in daily life daily life and that’s.
▶ 7:18 What you need in it answers in daily life and because he challenged Jesus and disobeyed Jesus even though he obeyed later he said Lord depart from me for I am a sinful man isn’t that a great attitude say that’s what God was looking for when he picked his apostle someone that could quickly turn around and repent that was peters way of repenting I’m sorry God I overstepped my boundaries I that was wrong and he wasn’t a hell sin it wasn’t a serious sin at all but he didn’t please the father how about if there are things simple things he asked you to do that you overlooked and you even challenging could that be absolutely but we need that kind of heart Lord forgive me even in the simple things so let’s go to.
Scripture in this part
Luke 5:5-8 (NKJV)
But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
— Luke 5:5-8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:37Did David sin with the Holy Ghost on him?
Short answer: Yes, big time. So don’t attack people who have the Holy Ghost because they make a mistake; get the beam out of your own eye.
▶ 8:21 The sins of king David a man after God’s own heart sin is a violation of God’s law okay and remember the spirit of the Lord is upon him he’s got the Holy Ghost are we in agreement yes just like we today have the Holy Ghost number one he had six outside of marriage. Which is forbidden to ten commandment says thou shalt not commit adultery yes now right he broke it and not only that but he had her husband killed. Killing of an innocent man in the Bible the killing of innocent blood there was no forgiveness for the Bible says in the Old Testament the shedding of innocent blood God would not forgive David just broke the unpardonable sin in the Old Testament with the Holy Ghost in him.
▶ 9:22 Now the point here is don’t be attacking people that have the Holy Ghost because they make a mistake and I get the two-by-four out of your own eye before you try to get a splinter out of the next person die in other words if you sharpen up your life you can be a light to them to sharpen up their life aren’t we quick to judge and attack oh they say they got the Holy Ghost I look what they did well look what David did. Does God have a right to take the Holy Spirit from David here absolutely he took it away from Saul God has the right but it’s all and how you respond to God now he favored his adult children in rape murder and conspiracy he could not discipline his own children he was the judge of the nation he judged other rapists and had him punished he judged other conspirators and had him punished he judged other murderers and had him punished but he would not judge and discipline and correct his own children and I know a lot of parents that can’t do that today.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 7:3-5 (NKJV)
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
— Matthew 7:3-5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:22What happened in David’s family?
Short answer: One son raped his half-sister, another killed him, and Absalom created a rebellion; David didn’t correct his children.
▶ 10:38 Not my child they wouldn’t do such a thing oh honey the Lord loves you and you know you didn’t really mean it. Are you there. One of his sons raped his stepsister then hated her and cast her out the brother of the stepsister waited for some time to go by and killed the rapist. David didn’t deal with the rapist if David would have dealt with the rapist then Absalom would not have had to do something in the as a family authority to correct it so Absalom had to run for his life to his mother’s nation David had married a lady of not a Jew he was from another nation so he went to that nation and then David invited him back in with no punishment no court hearing or anything and then.
▶ 11:37 Absalom after a few years started gaining people to him he said at the gate and he started getting people’s attention and drawn them to him and Absalom. Created a multitude and they conspired against David got an army and they overthrew David’s throne because David. Committed adultery and killed an innocent man and God says I got to deal with this so the nation knows that ideal was wrong and that what the Bible says yes so David God said those from your own family gonna rise up against you now God didn’t go to them and make them bad God’s already knew the hearts of these children he already knew and he just took his umbrella protection off and been.
▶ 12:33 One child rapes another child another child kills that child and that same child now that and they are adult children hello church we’re not talking about eight nine year old kids here we’re talking about adults. Our adults responsible for their behavior whether there’s a king’s kids or whether the preachers kids or whether they just the coal miners kids are they’re responsible for their behavior yes. Then he took a census here’s this minor sin like theatre committee. A minor sin he took a census without the census offering.
Scripture in this part
2 Samuel 13:14 (NKJV)
However, he would not heed her voice; and being stronger than she, he forced her and lay with her.
— 2 Samuel 13:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:382 Samuel 15:6 (NKJV)
In this manner Absalom acted toward all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
— 2 Samuel 15:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:37What happened with David’s census?
Short answer: He overruled those who tried to stop it and a plague killed thousands; he said, I have sinned.
▶ 13:25 Which God said you got to do and people tried to stop him and hid they the kings overruled those who tried to stop it and so God sent a plague and thousands of people citizens in the nation died from the plague because of David’s hard-headed. Not obeying a simple rule this is not a serious law at all folks don’t you think we need to obey the little ones the little loss. Amen. Just because it’s not a hill sin doesn’t mean we don’t need to obey God all right and then the last one is David never confessed or never repented till he got caught you know anybody like that.
▶ 14:19 Yeah we’re look at the mirror look in the mirror when we get caught jimmy oh yeah yeah I was wrong I was wrong yeah yeah I gotta stop that but until we’re caught mums the word let me know that’s wrong yeah. Hello check. And hallelujah now. After committing an unpardonable sin. God comes and says the Lord has put away your sin and you shall not die but you’re going to be punished again I got to correct you I’ve got to bring correction oh yeah. Now folks this is a fulfillment of eternal security how many have ever heard eternal security yeah but even Jesus there’s nothing can stop me from going to heaven and they carried out to the extreme where you can be a prostitute you can be a murderer you’re gonna be a drug and you still going to heaven that’s not eternal security that’s eternal foolishness.
Scripture in this part
2 Samuel 24:10-15 (NKJV)
And David’s heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now, I pray, O LORD, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.” Now when David arose in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying, “Go and tell David, ‘Thus says the LORD: “I offer you three things; choose one of them for yourself, that I may do it to you.” ’ ” So Gad came to David and told him; and he said to him, “Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or shall you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I should take back to Him who sent me.” And David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Please let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man.” So the LORD sent a plague upon Israel from the morning till the appointed time. From Dan to Beersheba seventy thousand men of the people died.
— 2 Samuel 24:10-15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:25What about once saved always saved?
Short answer: He disputes that view; eternal security is carried by a heart after God that repents.
▶ 15:31 In security but this is a carrying out eternal security and once saved always saved you ever seen them initials osa s once saved always say once I believe in Jesus by grace I’m safe can’t go to hell anymore no matter what I do it’s a fulfillment but not to continue in sin can I hear an amen see God carried through with David why he had a heart after God he was sensitive and he repented same way with Peter coming up here alright so let’s go to brother Peter the apostle Peter sins and remember he knew the Holy Ghost. Spirit of truth was with him and on the day of Pentecost was in him you see the two things happened to Peter after these sins let’s take a look at the sins and then we’ll go back over that first of all he removed Jesus Jesus said I’m going to down the cross to ransom the world of their sin Peter says you can die you’re not gonna die he is telling God what God can’t do or can do you know any people like that I think I’m looking at quite a few of us.
Did Peter rebuke Jesus?
Short answer: Yes. Jesus came to die, and Peter said no; Jesus said get behind Me, Satan.
▶ 16:55 He rebuked God himself Jesus came in the world to save sinners he came into the world to die and Peter is saying no you’re not gonna die are you there. Alleluia. Now. Then. Jesus brought him in and he’s gonna wash their feet back in those days the the lowest of the lowest of servants washed the visitors feet or the homeowners feet when they came in they wore sandals and their feet were dirty and so that they had foot washing now Jesus didn’t bring this parable up for us to have foot washing. I’ve been in some foot washing they’re everything but holy. Just as a observer a lot of pride going on look at me oh God.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 16:22-23 (NKJV)
Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
— Matthew 16:22-23 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:55Why did Jesus wash feet?
Short answer: He came not to be served but to serve; if I don’t wash you, you have no part with Me.
▶ 17:57 That’s where I learned there’s something wrong with this so-called sacrament all right but Jesus who came to serve Jesus said I didn’t come to be served like a waiter in a restaurant. Like a a customer in a restaurant I didn’t come to be sir I didn’t come to be taught like a teacher in the Bible seminary how many know Jesus don’t need anybody none of us telling him anything and I write we don’t need to be teaching God. And we don’t mean to be waiting on him like he’s you know some special customer coming into our store are you that the same word is used in acts chapter 6 of Stephen and those seven waiting on tables is it yeah he came to serve not to be served in that context we don’t teach him anything he teaches us we don’t feed him anything he feeds up do we worship him obey him yes that’s the same we’re his slave we worship him will obey him amen and Peter says you’ll never wash my feet ah.
▶ 19:22 That’s way down here you’re the king of kings the Lord of lords you the messiah to come you’re not gonna wash my feet and Jesus said if I don’t wash your feet you have no part of me Peter and Peter’s heart what quickly turns to the Lord not only my feet wash the holes by head my body everything just wash everything I want to stick with you amen and if we don’t let Jesus come and teach us and feed us how are we going to teach other and serve others if we haven’t been given food and teaching to give others so we got to let Jesus wod be our servant of a lowest degree and then we go and serve his people in the lowest degree possible is that an amen he stopped the person casting out demons him and his a fellow apostles he said Lord we stopped this guy from casting out demons he’s not one of us sectarianism say the word sectarianism say sectarianism.
Scripture in this part
John 13:8 (NKJV)
Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
— John 13:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:22Mark 10:45 (NKJV)
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
— Mark 10:45 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:57What did Peter do with the sword?
Short answer: He cut off a servant’s ear; Jesus said put it away. Some use this for gun control, but it’s about not using a sword to spread the gospel.
▶ 20:28 Sectarianism ins thinking you are the only one that’s got the truth and anybody to disagree with you you can have any part of them. Do we have sectarianism abundant in America churches you better believe it. He’s not one of us and Jesus corrected him so there’s no way this guy could be casting out demons except he is with us oh yeah doesn’t have to be in our group. Sir it’s the fourth one he cut off the high priest servants ear he’s going to defend God here they come to get Jesus to fulfill scripture to go down the cross and Peter’s gonna defend Jesus God in the flesh like Jesus can’t defend himself are you there and the gun.
▶ 21:30 Control people want to use this scripture but folks you can’t use this scripture here when it comes to preaching the gospel and standing for Christ yes you don’t use forth but when it comes to protecting your family your community your nation you better rise up and unite and protect them from the enemy is that a name in it yes don’t believe that gun control nonsense our founding fathers knew better all right and don’t try to defend God he’s very capable of defending himself you preach the word and you live right as an example and God will do the rest can I hear an amen yes. He denied Christ three times not once not twice three times I don’t know the man lied through seed I don’t know the man and then he cursed God.
Scripture in this part
John 18:10-11 (NKJV)
Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus. So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”
— John 18:10-11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:28How serious was Peter’s denial?
Short answer: He cursed and denied Jesus; Jesus said if you deny Me I will deny you. Yet Peter went back to fishing.
▶ 22:31 Wow. That’s what Job’s wife tried to get Job to do curse God and die Job. Jesus said if you deny me I will deny you before my father he committed a serious sin this is a very serious sin. He forsook Jesus the Bible says they all forsook Jesus for supped even left him. And. Scattered. Now just so you understand the scattering part they should have done they shouldn’t have went in there and got crucified with Christ then the Bible say if they persecute you in this city flee to another you got to know when to go.
▶ 23:27 Well that was good folks you got to know when to go. Not stand there and be a martyr for no reason there’s a time you need to run and so they scattered and he went and huddled in a little room and hiding out from the crowd and all that that wasn’t so bad it was still an act of rejection of identifying with Christ but not a health in but forsaking Christ wow that big time amen that’s a big-time sin. Then he went fishing this is after Jesus rose from the dead and had appeared to them twice. They he knew Jesus has written from the dead.
▶ 24:21 Twice. And then he says I’m going fishing fishing was where he was when Jesus met him he went back to his normal life oh well I’m gonna say I’m going back to just being you know Jesus just told him I’ll make you fishers of men he told him to tarry in Jerusalem till til the promise of the father come and he’s going fish it. Sounded like somebody you know. My David I just go back to my data that I forget about this promise of God these goals I’m supposed to have are you there yeah don’t you feel a little bit of guilty in this message. And Jesus knew.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 26:74 (NKJV)
Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.
— Matthew 26:74 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:31John 21:3 (NKJV)
Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
— John 21:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:21What did Jesus ask Peter three times?
Short answer: Do you love Me? Feed My sheep, feed My lambs.
▶ 25:16 Peter and he told Peter. Do you love me Peter. Peter said yes I love you feed my sheep do you love me Peter second time yes feed my little sheep the baby sheep the young sheep do you love me Peter Peter goes Lord you know all things you know whether I love you or not that was the best answer he could have gave he knows all things. We could have answered that at the beginning. He said feed nice you care ten teach nice you and here he is going fishing. Don’t we need more Christians in America actively involved in the kingdom being a light being a messenger not just waiting on great speakers that was a great statement there you agree to that yes.
Scripture in this part
John 21:15-17 (NKJV)
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
— John 21:15-17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:16What did Jesus pray for Peter?
Short answer: That his faith fail not; when converted, strengthen your brethren. We get up because we failed, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
▶ 26:21 We are just as important as any big speaker because we can reach people they will never reach. So what happened Jesus tells Peter I have prayed for you oh yeah I can handle that and I know what it says in Revelation come to his throne of grace that you might obtain mercy and the time of your trials and troubles and all that amen doesn’t it say I intercede for you in first John I’m your intercessor I’m interceding for you before the father doesn’t say that and here Jesus is confirming it Peter I’ve prayed for you that your faith fail not you and a rocky boat Peter you a hot-headed. Bigmouth quick-acting idiot but I prayed for you that.
▶ 27:19 Your faith fail not and guess what when Jesus prays things happen amen the Bible says we pray we know not what but the Holy Spirit knows how to pray we need to jump into that Holy Spirit pair time don’t we yeah not these little premeditated prayers when you pray all the time when you are converted not if you are converted Peter when I change you when I transform you to this weasel that you are and make you a warrior you strengthen your brethren hemant has ever been a weasel in the kingdom that made it want to be a warrior yes. Hallelujah help me I want Jesus to pray that prayer for you that you obtain that amen and stand on it yes Jesus is the savior Jesus is the all authority in heaven and earth Jesus is everything to us church.
▶ 28:19 And he even said the Holy Spirit is him we’ll get into that another messages. Most people don’t even know that. Their. Strengthen your brothers shouldn’t all of us feel with the Holy Ghost be concerned about the courage of condition of those in God’s church. Absolutely we should be but we’re like Peter we’re so busy with going back to regular life. Getting caught up with regular life. Are you with me now if God can change the Holy Ghost can change Peter and David can he change us.
▶ 29:12 Absolutely do we have to give up because we failed no we get up because we failed by the power of the Holy Spirit teaching and guiding us we get up and we keep getting up until we are a light to the world and an example to the brethren. Amen. So again that’s eternal security once saved always saved played out to its fulfillment. We may sin after being born again filled with the Holy Ghost but we repent and don’t keep sinning that sin in that what David did he never did those sins again see this is what people fail to see they see a David’s failure and they said well let’s see it’s okay for me to fail David never committed adultery again.
Scripture in this part
Luke 22:32 (NKJV)
But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
— Luke 22:32 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 26:21Did David and Peter change?
Short answer: Yes. David never killed an innocent person again; God inscribes His word on our hearts in the new covenant.
▶ 30:14 David never killed an innocent person again. That’s her attendance and I hear an amen that’s why he had eternal security he had that heart after God dislike Peter had that heart to break at the slightest little infraction he broke and changed he didn’t wait for big infraction and listen Jesus came to all the apostles at the end of his road here on earth any open their understanding to understand the word and Peter was one of them his understanding was open to understand the scriptures after three and a half years of listening to Jesus teach he did not understand until Jesus opened his understanding. Having you know we don’t understand scriptures just because we read him and memorize them he’s got a birth a minute.
▶ 31:17 He’s got to show you he’s got to inscribe it on your heart you can’t ascribe the word on your heart as it says in the new covenant he inscribes the word in our heart yeah that’s why we have to worship him pray seek him get into the Bible read it get in the Bible study so that what the Holy Spirit can start inscribing that word into our heart. Alleluia. People say not of works lest any man should boast if you don’t pray that’s a work you try praying without any effort. Can do it takes effort doesn’t it try worshiping without any effort lifting your hands standing singing unto him you’re a silent nothing. It’s work and that right it’s work to pay time you got to dig into your pocket and hand that money to the house of God that’s work is it you got to read your Bible it’s not gonna come through osmosis.
▶ 32:27 And thinking you got to read that book didn’t the Bible say seek you out of the book of the law and read then it doesn’t it’s a study to show thyself approved of workman right dividing the word of God doesn’t it. That means you got to put forth an effort and if you put forth the effort guess what God does the Holy Spirit comes and empowers you enlightens you opens your understanding to think and you keep walking up that spiral staircase as one of the prophets declared ever winding upward and upward until you reach the top amen. Hallelujah. The Holy Spirit is on our side church the Holy Spirit is for us and on America they debate about the baptism of the Holy Spirit all the time they just need to shut their mouth and ask God to give it to them tongues are no tongues I don’t care what we need it amen because he’s the one that can keep changing us he is the one that convicted us at the beginning he is the one that will keep convicting us until the day we die and we can change now the loo and we can strengthen our brethren Peter when you’re converted.
▶ 33:48 Strengthen your brethren. Church are you ready for God they’ll hold it to send his Holy Spirit to you just. Change you and make you a source of strengthening those in the church.
Scripture in this part
