The Third Reason Sheep Go Astray: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer teaches the third reason sheep go astray: their shepherds cause them to stray. He names hireling leaders, wrong doctrines and distractions in the church, tells stories from his Detroit childhood of children harmed while authorities did nothing, and calls the church to unite. God’s solution is pastors after his heart who feed with knowledge, with authority restored.
What is the third reason sheep go astray?
Short answer: Jeremiah 50:6: my people have been lost sheep; their shepherds have caused them to go astray. These are hirelings who care about their own welfare, preach prosperity, avoid current and civil issues and want the tithe coming in.
▶ 0:00 Third reason sheep go astray. Jeremiah 50 verse 6 my people have been lost sheep lost in sin going to hell. Here’s the third reason sheep go astray their shepherds have caused them to go astray not whoever now it’s the shepherd’s it’s church leaders that are causing them to go astray these are your hirelings they don’t care about the sheep they just want what what they can get from the sheep they just care about their welfare their family and let you know driving a rolls-royce silver shadow and all the rest and proclaim and prosperity if you’re a Christian and all this stuff. They will not talk about current issues they will not confront current issues they will not talk about civil issues nor confront civil issues they don’t want to disrupt anything in the congregation they want that tithe coming in they want people saying oh what a great speaker they are are you with me yeah and they.
Scripture in this part

“My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray; They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill; They have forgotten their resting place.
— Jeremiah 50:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:03Why does right doctrine matter?
Short answer: They don’t care about right doctrine, but the Bible says follow the apostles’ doctrine. He says the apostles are the twelve, who were unwavering, uncorrupted and taught the word as Jesus told them.
▶ 1:20 Don’t care about right doctrines at all. The doctrines that didn’t the Bible say and follow the apostles doctrine what apostles today apostles or the 12 the 12 I mean it’s clear don’t give me this apostle today [unclear] there’s twelve apostles that God taught that taught and these guys were unwavering they did exactly what Jesus told them to do you never see any of them having a nervous breakdown you never see any of them running off with some woman in the congregation you never see any kind of corruption in them and they taught the word of God like Jesus told them to but not these guys. He goes on to say in Jeremiah shepard scattered my flock over the wat.
Scripture in this part
Acts 2:42 (NKJV)
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
— Acts 2:42 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:30 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Has this prophecy been fulfilled?
Short answer: Ezekiel 34:6 says the flock was scattered over the whole earth—not yet discovered in Israel’s day. After centuries of missions, shepherds taught people wrong and scattered them through every nation, so that part is fulfilled.
▶ 2:17 Over what the whole earth now folks the whole earth hasn’t been discovered yet. If you think this is a prophecy to Israel coming out of bondage in captivity in Babylon you’re not reading your Bible right. The whole earth we did not know yet but God did didn’t it the whole earth was not discovered till the fifteen sixteen hundreds and God moved in four awakenings that we know of and we sent missionaries out to all the nations for 400 years and we got a lot of conversions but what did these shepherds do they caused them to sin they taught them wrong they scattered them and they’re scattered through every nation today aren’t they so that part is fulfilled now isn’t it isn’t it yeah.
Scripture in this part
Ezekiel 34:6 (NKJV)
My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill; yes, My flock was scattered over the whole face of the earth, and no one was seeking or searching for them.”
— Ezekiel 34:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:17 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What has not been fulfilled yet?
Short answer: Ezekiel 34:10–13: I am against the shepherds; I will deliver my sheep and bring them out of the nations and feed them. Not yet globally—a visitation of God is coming that will make a glorious church, and every prophecy must be fulfilled before he comes.
▶ 3:17 Remember I told you Jesus can’t come because there’s prophecies that have to be fulfilled okay watch this I am against the shepherds who is against these kind of shepherds Jesus himself I will deliver my sheep from them who will deliver has he. Has he now not globally. That’s why I keep telling you there is a visitation of God coming that’s going to shake this earth and the church going to be made a glorious church during this time the phony from the real thing is going to be plain as day and dark are you with me. Every prophecy in the Bible has to be what fulfilled before what he comes. I
▶ 4:14 Will. bring my sheep out of the nations has he now. We are getting people [unclear] that we’re not like those twelve apostles back there that fulfilled they obeyed the word of God they stood they died for the word of God we sing a great song today about that I pledge allegiance to the Lamb they did and it cost them their life. I’ll bring them out from the nations where they were scattered and I will feed my sheep who’s going to do it Jesus now folks we have the example in the New Testament where he used these 12 that could not be swayed they could not be influenced and he used them to preach the word of God and there is a day coming.
Scripture in this part
Ezekiel 34:10 (NKJV)
Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them.”
— Ezekiel 34:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:24 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Ezekiel 34:13 (NKJV)
And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country.
— Ezekiel 34:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:16 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What can believers do now?
Short answer: Read the Bible through the week, discipline yourself and pray for understanding; don’t wait for a great speaker. He lists errors: Catholic idols, honoring Mary and penance, when the blood of Christ cleanses from all sin, and Protestant prosperity teaching.
▶ 5:11 Where Jesus through real pastors is going to transform things in this earth. Well Lord I’m doing my best to get this across. Open their brains get him to read their Bible through the week that would be a big help discipline themselves just to read the Bible pray for understanding ain’t that true we can’t wait for some great speaker to tell us what to do we got to go to the book and get it know it ourselves now this is Ezekiel 34 verse 6 to 10. We know that the Catholic church have idols they honor Mary they tell their people to do penance when the blood of Christ cleanses from all sin there’s no penance you can do we know the corruption in the Catholic church am I right we know the corruption and a protestant church you know prosperity come to Jesus you’ll all be rich [unclear] yeah.
Scripture in this part
1 John 1:7 (NKJV)
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
— 1 John 1:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:11 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What popular teachings does he challenge?
Short answer: The poor will always be with you, yet we have prosperity, possibility and positive thinking, and purpose-driven teaching—he calls them all P’s. He names positive thinking as Trump’s church background.
▶ 6:18 You never read the scripture the poor will always be with you. Are you there then you got the purpose driven the possibility and positive thinking that’s Trump that’s where he went to church Norman Vincent Peale positive thinking you think it you can accomplish it you think it you can accomplish it how many know that’s just totally illogical. But that was Trump’s religion. Positive thinking possibility [unclear] followers purpose driven is Warren who took their place and called it purpose driven instead of prosperity and and possibility and positive we just change the p all these are P’s then you got the phenomenon of tongues you know the Pentecostals want to stress tongues way beyond what tongues are meant for our tongues for today absolutely the Bible says that.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 26:11 (NKJV)
For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.
— Matthew 26:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:20 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does he say about tongues?
Short answer: Tongues are for today and a sign to unbelievers, but not all speak in tongues. He says the real initial evidence of the Holy Ghost is prophecy—speaking by the Spirit’s inspiration (Joel 2:28). God does miracles when he does; when he doesn’t, he is still God.
▶ 7:28 What are they a sign for the unbeliever folks unbelievers need all the sign they can get. Amen. Do all speak in tongues no Bible plainly says they don’t relax. If you don’t speak in tongues you can still be filled with the Holy Ghost and the real initial evidence of the Holy Ghost is what prophecy the ability to speak by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit not the office of a prophet the ability to speak by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That was a sign he gave us I’ll pour out my spirit on all flesh and your sons and daughters shall prophesy by the inspiration of that Holy Spirit given to them and it’s a baptism of power and why we want to argue about it’s beyond me and why we want to get extreme and a miracle a day keeps the Devil away and all this stuff you know miracles and all this God does miracles when he does them and when he doesn’t do them he’s still God can I hear an amen.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 14:22 (NKJV)
Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe.
— 1 Corinthians 14:22 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:28 (quoted; reference not named in the message)1 Corinthians 12:30 (NKJV)
Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
— 1 Corinthians 12:30 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:39 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Joel 2:28 (NKJV)
“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
— Joel 2:28 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:08 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What about dress rules in church?
Short answer: Churches leave the Ten Commandments for rules about sleeves, makeup, hair and pants—mostly on women. As a single elder in training he told the board that anyone with a problem with miniskirts could look at the wall; young sheep shouldn’t be hammered out.
▶ 8:36 Hallelujah purity oh my gosh purity we leave the ten commandments and the righteous laws of God and we you know you know men they can’t wear short-sleeve shirts and women can’t wear makeup and women can’t cut their hair women can’t wear pants most of its put on women. And I was in a church meeting once where the girls were wearing miniskirts and man I was single at the time and they sat right on the front row you talk about a view I had one mini skirts front row my goodness and the watchdogs in the church you know they come into the board meeting and I was a board member at that time I was an elder in training and they said oh we got to do some of these girls coming in I simply said listen if anybody’s got a problem it’d be me they are single right now and God told me just to look at the wall wouldn’t it be a good idea for you guys just look at the wall.
Do prophecy teachers know when Jesus comes?
Short answer: Watchdogs find fault instead of listening, and second-coming predictions have destroyed America’s confidence in the church. Jesus said no one knows. Personal prophecies are mostly junk, while corrupt authorities ignore abuse of children.
▶ 9:36 Are you there folks they’re young sheep we’re going to hammer them out of the church because they’re following the fad of the day they haven’t grown yet they you know are you there. And alleluia there’s always the watchdog’s in the church they’re not listening to the sermon they’re checking the congregation out to see what they can find fault with and then they go to the pastor [unclear] and prophecy the second coming prophecy is just [unclear] the predictions of coming has just. Destroyed America’s. Confidence in the church everybody thinks they got the answer for the end time and Jesus said twice in the Bible that no one knows.
▶ 10:30 Relax. You don’t have no special insight I don’t either but we know he’s coming and and we know when he comes we’re going to understand it. Also personal prophecies oh God give me a scripture for you sister [unclear]. Oh. Yeah oh God showed me something about you oh man it all sounds great but it’s a bunch of junk are you with me the protestants have their problems folks let alone the cults. So this has not been fulfilled has it. Meanwhile when we’re doing these crazy things corrupt civil authorities are ignoring the abuse of children and innocent people while we’re dancing or what we’re not dancing and all [unclear] or no that’s fleshly.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 24:36 (NKJV)
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
— Matthew 24:36 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:27 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What stories from his childhood does he tell?
Short answer: Growing up in Detroit, a good friend changed, and at 16 was shot dead at his parents’ illegal liquor and gambling house that police overlooked. A boy beaten by his father hanged himself, and a 13-year-old girl was assaulted and never the same.
▶ 11:39 You just pick a camp and you just stay in that camp and here innocent people are being destroyed innocent believers are being destroyed and we can’t unite to fight for right there is really corruption in the church leaders can I hear an amen and in our government you see. As the church does nothing let me give you a story. Melvin Jones when I went to Detroit Melvin Jones came up from the south like I did he was a black boy and we went to the same school and we were both very athletic we you know the first ones chosen to be on a team and all this stuff and we were good friends he was a good kid all right I was about I was about ten years old this 10 to about 12 years old I was with him and he.
▶ 12:37 Would live a half a block from me a half a block and then he started changing and when he started changing to be a punk the hood the cool dude I Had to stop running with him my parents didn’t tell me they don’t know what’s going on in the neighborhood I. Knew that I couldn’t run with that boy now or I’d be influenced by him. Anyway make a long story short when he was 16 years old his parents by the way ran what they called a blind pig a blind pig is a place where they sell moonshine and they gamble and it’s called a blind pig because the pigs the officers the police overlooked it.
▶ 13:32 You got it. Yeah the pigs are blind the officers overlooked it and of course that draws a what a horrible crowd so one day Melvin came home and one of their customer was having an argument with their parents his parents being cheated and they [unclear] something and Melvin just stood in trying to separate him the guy pulled a gun and shot him 16 years old dead just like that. He was a good kid at one time but the parents are the whoever led him astray and this boy died when he shouldn’t have died and the police ignoring the problem.
▶ 14:25 We’re contributing to the result. Amen. The authority should be strong and use force and get the bullies out and not destroy a young innocent hillbilly we were both from the south where both hillbillies he was black and I was white we were both good kids that he got ruined then there was a 13 year old boy a white boy whose dad was one of these redneck you got to be tough boy men don’t cry man men don’t cry slapping him hitting in you know every little thing he did wrong he does [unclear] lashing out and we all knew this and the boy was different he wasn’t normal out there were like other kids yeah hey he had a he had a fear in him anyway we were playing football one night in the alley behind my house and for once he was out there playing with us rarely he was ever out but he was playing with us and then my parents called me in to eat and when my parents called me in to eat they didn’t have to call me twice they didn’t have to say 1.
▶ 15:43 2 3. When my parents called me in or my dad or mom either one I drop what I was doing and I went home. All right that’s the way what. If they had to call me the second time they wouldn’t be calling they’d be out there like that Baltimore riot woman they pull my ear pulled me into that house anyway. In my house there was only one bathroom for eight people all right so I get to the house and have to wait to wash up and all this and before I ever got done washing my hands to go eat some one came to the door and says Robbie hung himself I.
▶ 16:43 Ran out there and the police cars are there and the story came out that this boy went home as usual he didn’t do something right either he didn’t take off his shoes or wipe his shoes or he slammed the door he did something in that dad yelled at and smacked him around if you get out of this house and you come in right you’ve met those kind of men haven’t you the big bully dad yeah it’s horrible they think yelling and beating is the answer. So the boy went out there was a cable on the back of the stairs he tied it around his neck he tied it around the banister and he jumped off. Broke his neck just like that died three days later that dad was taken away in a stir he could not handle I mean a straitjacket you know what a straitjacket it they carried that man they dragged that man out with a straitjacket he went nuts because he knew he was you know when that happened he knew he was at fault.
▶ 17:50 Are you with me but the but the authorities are doing nothing to teach the community there doing nothing to to. Correct these things before they come become a serious problem and then there was a 13 year old girl who developed man I tell you did she ever develop I mean she was barely past 12 years old I mean man hips I mean you’d think she’s 18 19 years old wow I. Knew her and some of her friends come by one day in a car and talked her into getting in one of them had driver’s license the others were her age 14 13 years old they took this girl out to a secluded place and started groping her and demanding sex from her when she refused they just beat her and.
▶ 18:49 She was so shocked this young innocent girl I knew this girl good family. She knew these boys that did it the family knew these boys that did it we all knew and I heard it through the grapevine and so the next time I saw that girl I took notice of her and she was totally a different girl her innocence was taken away she was totally introverted it totally changed her life. And. None of the parents and then the community knew just the kids in the community because you don’t snitch the law of the jungle the concrete you don’t snitch you don’t tell you know [unclear] and it took months before the parents realize there is something different about their daughter.
What does he say would prevent these things?
Short answer: Good laws, good leaders who back them up, and a church that is a voice. Negotiation didn’t work with the Nazis—force did. He cites the Philippines’ new president and Singapore’s death penalty for drugs and kidnapping as cutting drug problems.
▶ 19:49 Folks these things can be avoided by good laws and good leaders that back them up can I hear an amen and a church that doesn’t stand for this kind of treatment to children and innocent people a church needs to be a voice. Let me ask you this. Obama and a socialist and and Hillary are really into negotiating. And I will just talk our way through this did negotiation work for the Nazis did treaties ok we’ll we’ll compromise you know the treaties work with the Nazis what worked with the Nazis force come on [unclear] it’s just logic.
▶ 20:44 We had to unite and we had to confront this. Government that was destroying people’s lives in the Philippines they just elected a new president just a few weeks ago all right and he got elected on he would take care of the drug dealers he would murder or execute them and he give people the right to defend themselves in the neighborhood I don’t know if you’ve read this it’s awesome and in seven weeks this guy’s cleaned up their drug area a half a million the last time I read drug dealers surrender because they didn’t want to be killed. They turned themselves in. See the [unclear] that law and backing it up did what the police can’t do.
▶ 21:42 Amen but oh they’ve got [unclear] that’s inhumane you know it’s got to be the community it’s got to be the parents it’s got to be some reason not this person’s fault that he’s like he is and this Obama saying it’s a non-violent crime come on I’ve seen more violence with alcohol and drugs than you can shake a stick at are you there. Singapore. Singapore in the 90s they passed the law I think it was the nineties that a certain amount of drugs is the death penalty all right kidnapping is the death penalty all right murder death penalty. Okay and they backed it up and they had a lot of hangings at the beginning but you know in the last few years very little and quite a few years none why they don’t have a drug problem.
Why does the family matter?
Short answer: The family is the key, and he says socialists and secular humanists want to destroy it through divorce and abortion on demand. Job’s captivity turned when he prayed for his friends.
▶ 22:49 You get caught you pay the price are you there it’s that simple it’s that simple when Trump says we need law and order if he really backs it up and we pass laws that punish bad people we can strengthen the American family an American family can make America prosperous again alleluia the key is the family and that’s why the socialists and the religion of secular humanism they want to destroy the family see that’s why they pass laws. Divorce on demand abortion on demand whatever everything is permissible and they wonder why it erodes the authority of a parent remember Job. When did Job’s captivity turn anyone remember when he prayed for his friends who were his friends his enemies the ones that accused him they wanted to talk down to him he forgave them and he prayed for them and then his health was restored his family was restored and his wealth was restored David.

— Job 42:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 23:43 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does David’s band teach us?
Short answer: The distressed, indebted and discontented joined David against Saul, and the children of Issachar understood the times. We face three fronts—homosexual activists, secular humanists and socialists—and must unite and care for others’ families; to whom much is given, much is required.
▶ 24:04 He was called to be king. And but David join with the distressed the in debt all right and the discontented with Saul and his government who was persecuting God’s people are you there yeah and persecuting citizens who disagreed with him sound like America today and the Philistines who are not God’s people but outside voices trying to destroy Israel do we have that today the homosexual activists the secular humanists the socialist yeah we got a we got three fronts of battle and these people came to him and when he united with them and they united with him and the children of Issachar had what understanding of the times and know what Israel ought to do them people knew they had to do something and they join with David David joined with them and had great what results and they changed the nation back amen.

— Luke 12:48 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:19 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is God’s solution?
Short answer: Jeremiah 3:15: I will give you pastors according to my heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. He told a man drunkards go to the lake of fire; Jesus couldn’t have been intoxicated and been the perfect sacrifice.
▶ 25:20 Folks we can’t just be concerned about our family I got to be concerned about your family I got to be concerned about families out there those children just because they’re not close to me they are close to God aren’t they and somewhere I got to be concerned about those children and those innocent young believers that are being destroyed by this nonsense in the churches and to whom much is given much is required we may be little but we have a big responsibility to reach our community is that an amen. Can’t just think of your family. God’s solution Jeremiah 3:15 I
▶ 26:19 Will give you pastors according to my heart which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding what does the Bible say brings destruction and captivity to God’s people the lack of knowledge the lack of understanding Christians just don’t understand the Bible I just dealt with a guy out front today he telling me scriptures and all that and I said man you’re talking to the wrong guy I know this book and we had a scriptural debate right there and you know I told him you’re going to hell. I had to all drunkards go where the hell intoxicated to go the lake of fire all right somebody has to tell him. He said well Jesus made wine I said I didn’t ask you that question I said did Jesus get intoxicated.

— 1 Corinthians 6:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 27:00 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What will that time look like?
Short answer: Jeremiah 3:17: they will call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord and all nations will be gathered to it—he says Jerusalem is the church (Hebrews 12). Authority will be restored—the word, the Spirit and the name of Jesus—not seminary or speaking skill.
▶ 27:17 Could he have gotten intoxicated I said and been the perfect sacrifice lamb no because intoxication is a biblical sin and he wouldn’t have been the perfect sacrifice lamb I said don’t give me this Jesus made water to wine stuff don’t give me that I asked you a different question. Amen. Hallelujah I was honest with the homosexual I’m honest with the drunkard. Jeremiah 3:17 same verses here I will give you pastors at that time what time the time I give you pastors according to my heart which will feed you with knowledge and understanding a visitation of God where we’re going to have church leaders like the twelve apostles unwavering. Can I hear an amen yes all this psychology and all this nonsense is going to go God’s going to get control they will call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord what’s on the throne I said not who’s on the throne what’s on the throne [unclear] who’s on the throne what’s on the throne with him authority.
▶ 28:32 The authority is in Jerusalem the authority the power and all nations shall be gathered unto it now who does Hebrews 12 say tell us Jerusalem is and Revelations the church yes church of the firstborn. And all nations to be gathered to the church in the name of who the Lord who is he Jesus who has all authority in heaven and earth Jesus who’s on the throne what’s on the throne with him authority. None of this winky dinky wimpy stuff authority neither shall they walk anymore after the imagination of their evil heart has that happened yet now does it have to be fulfilled yes and when will it be fulfilled at the time he gives us leaders according to his heart like the twelve apostles that will feed us with knowledge and understanding with authority the apostles did miracles and spoke the word of God the Bible said amen that authority is going to be restored it’s not what seminary you graduated from what Bible college you went to oh how well you can speak as as a speaker it’s the authority of the word and the authority of the spirit and the authority and the name of Jesus Christ amen and God’s question to us this morning is will we pledge allegiance to that Lamb.
