A Vine Cluster Church message reading 2 Timothy 1:7 in context: because God has given power, love and a sound mind, don’t be ashamed of the testimony of the Lord. Paul’s testimony before Agrippa shows the chief of sinners turned from darkness to light and preaching repentance. 1 Corinthians 6 lists who will not inherit the kingdom, yet “such were some of you”—Christ washes and changes.

What does 2 Timothy 1:7 say?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: God has not given us the spirit of fear (cowardice, timidity) but of power, love and a sound mind. 1 John 4:18: there is no fear in love; perfect love casts out fear.

▶ 0:00 So we’re going to talk about the spirit of fear this morning first in second Timothy chapter 1 verse 7 it says God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power of love and of a sound mind and I was growing up as a kid they had this song that the donut man used to sing God has not given us a spirit of fear anybody remember that this is good song and never forgot that scripture but it means a lot it’s very important. God was reminding me how important it is and why it’s important because you can take this.

▶ 0:45 Scripture and you can do a lot of things with it spirit of fear fear meaning the the cowardice, the timidity you’re just so afraid that you won’t do anything you’re going to back down the spirit of power as you know that the Bible talks about seven spirits seven spirits and the spirit of might is one of those spirits spirit of power spirit of love we know that God is love and he’s given us a sound mind anytime you think you can’t do something we have a great saying around here you can do anything you put your mind to there’s no limitations just limitations on what you’re willing to learn what you are willing to do and some are a little slower than others some takes a little longer but you can do it how many have experienced that yes.

Can 2 Timothy 1:7 justify sin?

▶ Watch this part (1:41)

Short answer: Some lift the verse alone to excuse stealing, lying or wrong relationships. Read it in context: 2 Timothy 1:6 says stir up the gift of God in you; verse 8 says therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord nor of me his prisoner.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 1:41 Amen. Some people would say that I was smart and it was I’m not smart I just you know as a kid growing up you know all you do is learn and learn and learn it you listen and you know the smart thing to do is listen to your teacher. You know when we come on Sunday listen to Mr. Kincer that’s the smart way to go. First John 4:18 there is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear and I’m just bring up these verses about fear and if you take these verses at face value and you just read them and you find that scripture what is that scripture oh the spirit of fear and you read it and you bring it up second Timothy chapter 1 verse 7 God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and you can interpret it and say oh well I shouldn’t have fear of stealing and I shouldn’t be afraid in the store to grab something shouldn’t have fear spirit of God has not giving me a spirit of fear God has not given me the spirit of fear to love this this woman that I just love or this man or this person that I’m not married to this person that I wanna you know because God has not given me a spirit of fear I’m not going to be afraid anymore a lot of people do that and they’ll go to these scriptures I’ll read that scripture

▶ 3:12 by itself and they’ll go and use it to do things they shouldn’t do. God has not give me the fear spirit of fear I love I love that little child I’m not afraid to show my love to that child that’s disgusting you know what I don’t know how these guys have proved it in their mind but you can go to these scriptures and you can you can twist them which a lot of people do to sin oh oh we caught somebody we got pinocchio up there I’m not afraid to lie I shouldn’t be afraid of lying walking around with this nose I’m not afraid about big nose I. Don’t need to tell the truth God’s not given me a spirit of fear and this is so what a lot of people are doing with the scriptures and we can’t do that you got to read the whole thing so we want to understand who is the writer of 2nd Timothy that was Paul and who is he writing to he was writing to Timothy and first he says second Timothy 1:6 stir up the gift of God that is within you and he doesn’t say what the gift of God is you can assume some things or if you’re mr.

▶ 4:34 Kinnser you can you can pull this out of some place of the Bible and Revelation which I don’t have today but it’s probably the gift of speaking or evangelism or something like that and then he says so when you when you sandwich this in with the scripture before in the scripture after you really get an understanding second Timothy chapter 1 verse 8 it says therefore and what is therefore it means it means for this reason for what reason since God has not given you a spirit of fear do not for that reason for that reason he’s giving you a spirit of love he’s giving you spirit of power and a sound mind for that reason. Do not be ashamed ashamed of what do not be ashamed to.

▶ 5:32 Tell people about your sin or you know it you can just you can just use whatever you want here if you just stop at certain verses you can say whatever you want but it says do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord nor of me his prisoner so he we got two people here do not be ashamed of the testimony of Lord that’s Jesus Christ nor of me his prisoner in court they use testimonies as evidence as proof. To that case and that trial it’s evidence in support of a fact or statement in proof and you need testimony you need that the knife you need the gun you need that it has to match up there’s got to be a testimony this gun is a testimony that he shot the gun his fingerprints his dna testimony.

What testimony did Paul give before Agrippa?

▶ Watch this part (6:27)

Short answer: Acts 26:1–11: given permission to speak, Paul told how he lived as a Pharisee of the strictest sect, opposed the name of Jesus, imprisoned saints, voted for their deaths, punished them in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 6:27 And so we go to the story about Paul and we know that Paul gave a testimony and he gave it to a king and he gave it to the person who was keeping him prisoner. Acts 21:26 verse 1 then king Agrippa then Agrippa said Paul you are permitted to speak I. Give you permission to testify give your testimony speak for yourself see Paul wasn’t represented by a lawyer he had to do it himself. He had to speak for himself and just so you know the backstory Paul was imprisoned under Felix and Felix left office and Festus was the new man in charge and Festus was left with this guy and he’s saying why is he here so he he brought in the accusers and they were saying that he doesn’t believe in the law he’s like what you mean he didn’t hit anybody he didn’t cut anybody’s head off he didn’t steal and throughout the scriptures or that chapter you find him saying we don’t know why he’s here we don’t get it.

▶ 7:48 So Paul gets up to the stand and he starts to make his case and he says that before as a young person he grew up in the most strictest sect of the Jewish religion he grew up in that he was trained in that he was trained and it says as a Pharisee he was raised to be a Pharisee a religious person and the strictest sect and because of this later on he says I committed myself to be hostile to the name of Jesus and to the people of Jesus Christ Jesus was already on the cross so he started to attack the people and it says that he said I locked up many of the saints this is Paul giving his account he locked up many of the saints he voted to put them to death as you know he punished in every synagogue that he went he punished the people that were called Christians the people before they call them Christians they called him the ones that followed the way and he.

This I also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them. And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

Whom was Saul persecuting?

▶ Watch this part (9:00)

Short answer: Acts 26:12–14: on the Damascus road a light from heaven shone and Jesus said, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Persecuting the church is persecuting Jesus—we are his body.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 9:00 Compelled them to blaspheme. Jesus Christ if you don’t recant if you don’t blaspheme Jesus Christ I’m going to kill you I’m going to beat you I’m going to hit you in the head I’m going to hurt your child that’s what Paul was doing. Awful things. Saul of Tarsus was his name. Acts 26 verse 12 to 14 he goes on as I went to Damascus and we know this wonderful day in his life I saw in the way a light from heaven and I heard a voice speaking on to me and it was the voice of Jesus and they all fell to the earth the people that were with him him you guys know the story they all fell to the earth and all the sudden comes this voice and Jesus says Saul.

Acts 26:12-14 (NKJV)

“While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’

— Acts 26:12-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:25

What was Paul sent to do?

▶ Watch this part (9:58)

Short answer: Acts 26:16–18: to be a minister and a witness, to open eyes and turn Jews and Gentiles from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness—release from sin, which enslaves. All are called to repent and follow Jesus.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 9:58 Saul why persecutest thou me as we’ve been taught here and as we know Saul was not persecuting Jesus Christ who was he persecuting the church you see when you mess with the church when you mess with God’s people you better be careful because you’re messing with Jesus Christ and we’ve known that for many years I’ve heard Mr. Kincer preached that and that is the truth but we are the body of Christ when you mess with God’s people you’re messing with Jesus Christ that’s important to understand when when the world starts to attack God’s people they’re not attacking just people they’re attacking who Jesus Christ. And. He says to Paul for this reason in Acts 26 verse 16 I have appeared unto you for this purpose to make you a minister and a witness and sometimes God isn’t coming to us to make us a minister [unclear] God is calling all people everywhere to repent he’s not calling all people everywhere.

▶ 11:15 You know the Bible says some pastors some teachers some prophets not everyone is called to these things but we are called to repent and we all are called to follow Jesus Christ Jesus said follow me. We are all called and a witness and that’s what he’s doing he’s testifying here. Acts 26 goes on to say to open their eyes the purpose I am calling you to become a minister and a witness to open their eyes to turn them from darkness to light and he’s talking about the Jews I didn’t I didn’t include it here but he’s talking about the Jews and the Gentiles Gentiles somebody who’s not a Jew so everybody he was not a Jew he was sent to them to turn them from darkness to light and that’s what we got to understand goal of God Jesus Christ the goal of his message is to turn people from darkness to light from the way of the power of Satan he says to God.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Acts 26:16 (NKJV)

But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.

— Acts 26:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:55 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

Why shouldn’t we be ashamed of the testimony?

▶ Watch this part (12:29)

Short answer: 1 Timothy 1:15: Christ came to save sinners, of whom Paul was chief. The testimony is of Christ transforming the worst sinner. The message is confrontational—Jesus is the judge, and we go by what his word says.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 12:29 That they may receive liberty freedom forgiveness. The word in your Bible will say forgiveness but the word is actually liberty release because that’s what sin is from sin. Really that’s what sin does it enslaves you. First Timothy chapter 1 verse 15 Christ came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief this is Paul Paul was the chief sinner and this is the message. That Paul is saying you should not be ashamed of he is talking about his transformation he’s telling fastest he’s telling Agrippa that God is changing me from somebody who is awful somebody who was the chiefest sinner on all the world he’s transforming me don’t be ashamed of me don’t be ashamed of what God has called me to do don’t be ashamed of the testimony of Jesus Christ of what Christ can do in somebody’s life.

▶ 13:48 And the reason why he does say that’s the reason why he says don’t be ashamed is because the message is. Confrontational the message is a message of you better turn you need to change Jesus is very judgmental and we know in in a New Testament he says judge not lest ye be judged but he is the king of kings and Lord of lords Jesus Christ is the judge of all the world the supreme judge he will be there and he gives us judgments now we don’t have to judge people the Bible judges people and we go off of the Bible we go off of what Jesus says because he’s the judge Acts 26 verse 20.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Timothy 1:15 (NKJV)

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

What was Paul’s first message?

▶ Watch this part (14:43)

Short answer: Acts 26:20: he declared in Damascus, Jerusalem, Judea and to the Gentiles that they should repent, turn to God and do works befitting repentance—as John the Baptist said, bring forth fruit worthy of repentance.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 14:43 So Paul. Went to Ananias as we know the story and Ananias was sentenced our Ananias was sent to Paul and Paul was blind and and he prayed for him and he got his vision back and so he went straight to Damascus not to put people in prison not to punish Christians but to declare in Damascus it says he he declared in Damascus Jerusalem and Judea and then to the Gentiles that they should what. Repent turn to God and do works befitting repentance now here is Paul if you know Paul he’s the one that talks about grace through faith and all that but you’ve got this guy right here is telling us his first message was repent his first message was turned his first message was do works befitting.

Who shall not inherit the kingdom?

▶ Watch this part (15:44)

Short answer: 1 Corinthians 6:9–10: neither fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, sodomites, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God. Young believers may be ashamed of the frankness of the message, but let God be true and every man a liar.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 15:44 Repentance. And we need to hear that several times because when somebody comes at you and they said well I don’t need to I thought I was safe God forgives me yeah he does but Paul Jesus calls us to do works befitting repentance this is exactly what John the Baptist said bring forth fruit worthy of repentance. First Corinthians 6:9 this is Paul neither fornicators idolaters adulterers effeminate. Sodomites thieves covetous drunkards revilers extortioners shall not inherit the kingdom of God and you see this is so important for us young ones I’m 29 years oh wait oh yeah I’m 29 years old and you.

▶ 16:40 Know growing up in America as a young person just being young in general you don’t want to be mean to people unless you grow up and you’re mean I don’t want to be mean to people I don’t want to make him upset you know it’s just not part of who I am but Jesus Christ has got to get people into heaven and Paul is saying to Timothy do not I’ve not given you a spirit of fear you don’t be ashamed of the testimony of Jesus Christ us young people. Teenagers. [unclear] young people us young ones sometimes we are and get ashamed of the frankness of the confrontation that Jesus Christ and his word brings sometimes we don’t like the way it just it bugs as it bothers us oh it cuz I could say that better and you know we’re taught by other pastors and preachers.

▶ 17:48 That you got to say it a certain way but here Paul is telling Timothy do not be ashamed of the testimony of Lord and the testimony is so important Paul was in darkness Paul was the chiefest sinner he was doing all the bad stuff he was a horrible man. He was worse than any sin that we have in America today he was the the guy and Jesus came and turned him confirmed and they said you better turn you better turn her butt around or we were going to have a problem. And that’s the testimony that Paul is talking about here he’s giving a testimony of what happened in his life Jesus transformed me he took out the cheap sinner a title.

▶ 18:41 He changed me and then he made me a minister of his word he transformed he completely repented he completely turned he was a new creation and that’s what we need that’s what America needs that’s what every person needs every creature like we talked about we’ve all been created by God no matter if you’re a sinner no matter if you’re a believer whether you believe or not we’ve all been created and that’s why God tells us go and make disciples it doesn’t matter if the evolutionist doesn’t believe that he was created by God he was created by God. His spirit every breath he takes every thought he has is because of Jesus Christ.

▶ 19:43 Neither fornicators idolaters adulterers effeminate sodomites thieves covetous drunkards revilers extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God. Now the person who has sex outside of marriage before marriage as a teenager. Maybe they’re 18 maybe they’re in college and they’re having sex with whoever you know that was promoted when I was in college it was just assumed that that’s the way everybody did things you know that’s what you’d think everybody’s just because that’s the way they talk. And they think it’s fun but there’s a lot of harm and that idolaters adulterers people who are going out on their marriage having sex outside of the marriage effeminate sodomites sodomy is homosexuality somebody’s having sex with the same sex.

▶ 20:39 We’ve got somewhere you have to say is Jesus right or is the world right is what I’m hearing from the Bible truth or is what I’m hearing from the world truth. The Bible says let God be true and every man a liar we’re talking about Jesus here we’re talking about Paul Paul is saying this is my testimony the testimony of the Lord he’s the one writing this to the Corinthian church he’s addressing these things he’s addressing the sin and we got to get away [unclear] you can’t be ashamed.

▶ 21:32 You can’t be afraid. You know when I go to work I do my work I’m very you know I get the job I’m talking about work we’re talking about servers and all this stuff and you know I have a full-time job at Mercury Insurance and that’s what I go and do if somebody asked me about Jesus I tell them about Jesus but you know I’m very reserved I already know in my mind I know you know I’ve certain places I don’t want to go because I want to keep my job really. But Jesus is reminding us you can’t be ashamed. And I’m not saying that you need to go and you start preaching and all that I’m just saying my heart Jesus is dealing with me being afraid being ashamed you can’t be ashamed you can’t be afraid.

▶ 22:30 Revilers people that have a problem with their tongue I can’t control that thing that’s in the mouth we love to eat but man that that thing in there can just set a fire going amen. And. Sometimes we go too far we revile we we just we cross the line we get upset and we just start flinging the stones that you can’t see I. Know we’re not like that. Thieves covetous. So you can’t take one scripture you can’t take one scripture and say God’s not given me a spirit of fear oh you got to balance it out with the rest the testimony of Paul don’t be ashamed of the testimony of what Jesus has done in people’s lives and his example was himself Jesus Christ changed me Jesus Christ confronted me Jesus Christ put his word into me he transformed my life and that’s what needs to happen to everyone.

Can people be changed?

▶ Watch this part (23:41)

Short answer: 1 Corinthians 6:11: such were some of you, but you are washed, sanctified and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus. Change is possible with Christ—positionally righteous while he transforms us toward his nature.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 23:41 Whether they you know whether they accept it or not that’s what needs to happen in first Corinthians chapter 6:11 it says of such were some of you what does that mean he’s talking about this list some people in the church they were this way being. Change is not impossible. Being changed from these things is not impossible with Christ all things are possible. I’ve given you a spirit of power a spirit of love you know I have a problem with loving my children I have a problem with this or that I have a problem with getting well God has power for you you were washed. Such were some of you these people that accepted Christ Christ came and he washed what does that mean he cleanse he got the blood out and he started to cleanse all of the sin and you see we use 409 we use windex to get stuff out we get all the soaps that are out there but Jesus Christ gets his blood and that cleansing agent is the thing that can get the sin out and he’s got a lot of ways you know he’ll take that sin and he’ll nail it to the cross boom I.

▶ 25:10 Think I’ve broken. He’ll take the blood and that blood as a cleansing agent the blood is powerful the cross is powerful. But you are sanctifying see God has now cleansed you now he sanctified you positionally you are [unclear] no sorry that’s the wrong one sanctify God is doing something inside of you he’s he’s changing he cleansed the sin he took away the sin and now he’s turning you he’s turning you around he’s purifying you and it says you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ what does that mean he’s saying positionally you’re righteous conditionally you’re pretty bad. You’re justified where you’re at because you’re trying your turn you’ve turned and you’re headed to the right way but where you’re at.

▶ 26:13 You know I wouldn’t give you a computer to start working on stuff you know at my job you can’t just give anybody access to certain things they can delete stuff bring systems down sometimes I bring systems down on accident I’ll uh oh my gosh and Mercury Insurance [unclear] just goes down. Conditionally. We’re not righteous but Jesus Christ is transforming us into becoming more and more like him. The divine nature we want to be like Jesus Christ and you can work on that all your life. Because when you’re a father it changes when you’re a son it changes when you’re a husband and a wife it changes.

Will standing for Christ cost us?

▶ Watch this part (27:11)

Short answer: 2 Timothy 1:8: share in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God. Christians under Nero were burned; others were sawn in two and torn by beasts. Today it may cost friends or approval—Jesus matters more.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 27:11 When you are just involved in the church whatever you’re doing it changes and you’ve got to continue to transform let Jesus transform you. So going back to the verse here therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord nor of me his prisoner but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God you see those guys during their day you had leaders you had kings, the Caesar at that time was Nero and he was the most awful human being worse than Hitler worse than all these people at night he would burn Christians so that you could have light he would just burn burn unto death there’s all these different ways that people died at his hands and we know that scripture that Paul says some were torn in two some were sawn in half some were mauled by beasts of whom the world is not worthy.

▶ 28:24 These men these women paid the ultimate price they shared in the sufferings and we don’t have that going on today but we still have you know some people they won’t like you you know we like to be liked I like to be liked they don’t want to be your friend unfriend. They don’t like you unlike. They’re going to kick you off of facebook and I felt like your comments they’re not going to like the way you are. That’s kind of it’s a sacrifice but what’s more important is is Jesus more important or somebody’s opinion more important and hey maybe they’ll turn around one day because you stood for Christ and maybe things are going to get worse in being a Christian in the future do we stop being Christians no.

Why does love require speaking the message?

▶ Watch this part (29:25)

Short answer: God has given us a spirit of love—for families and children, the most innocent. He cites abortion, abuse and fatherlessness statistics and calls fathers to wake up. Teaching Scripture so parents turn does more than programs.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Guest speaker (unnamed)

▶ 29:25 Second Timothy chapter 1 verse 7 for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power he’s not given us a spirit spirit of fear we’re not to be ashamed of the testimony of the word of God of the truth of his word of what Jesus can do of course we’re not afraid of what Jesus can do but we don’t like we’re ashamed of the message we’re ashamed of the comments that he says. When he said to the Pharisees woe to you you are two times a child of hell I mean Jesus gets really rough with these guys and if we were standing there and we’re following [unclear] oh well I’m not with that guy and also lastly he has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind and when you think about that word of love.

▶ 30:24 You know we’re talking about the message here we’re talking about not being afraid of the message why because God has given you a spirit of love you love families we love. Family we love the most innocent of the family and who is that the children like I’ve said before twenty percent one in five pregnancies end in abortion. One in ten ten percent of children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday in America. Ten percent. [unclear].

▶ 31:21 Forty-three percent of children live without their father. And look I’m not saying we got a blanket statement that all of this is all bad there’s all different types of situations but forty percent come on dads where are the dads at where are the fathers at. Ninety percent of the homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes ninety percent eighty percent of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes dads are not doing their job. 71 percent of pregnant teenagers lacked a father you know we’ve had people come through here they get pregnant and they’re teenagers and Lara and I we just had some kids and we’re married and we know you guys know you had kids it’s not easy it’s a lot of work.

▶ 32:25 We love them to death but there it’s a lot of work. Eighty-five percent of children who exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes ninety percent. 71 percent of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes. Eighty-five percent of youths in prison. Come. From grew up in a fatherless home. That is not the testimony of Jesus Christ alive that America is living needs to be confronted with the scriptures.

▶ 33:26 Jesus’s message is we love children you see that the sins that we commit all this stuff it seeps down and affects what the children all of this junk all this stuff that we want to approve all the stuff that we’re doing I want to live this way because I want to feel good all I want to do it my way I go on and do it my way I want to do my way my only my way well it’s seeping and it’s hurting children. These are awful statistics. 90 80 70 percent that’s horrible and that’s a huge percentage of our children in America dad’s wake up. Parents we got to wake up and I speak to myself too.

▶ 34:26 We get high off of helping people we get high off of feeding people well if we teach them about the scriptures and get them to turn and transform their parents will feed them their parents will love them we can only do so much we can’t bring the world in here and all the kids and be parents to them that’s why the Bible is so important that’s why the focus is on the scriptures getting that message out it’s more important and yeah you know what the word doesn’t get the kids the small percentage that it does in effect we can feed and help but when you have so many so many because there is a neglect and rejection of what is right. That’s wrong.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: Points to check: “some sawn in half… torn by beasts” attributed to Paul (Hebrews 11:37); Matthew 23:15 paraphrased as Jesus saying “two times a child of hell”; the claim that the word for forgiveness means liberty/release. Unverified statistics as spoken (30:24–33:00): 1 in 5 pregnancies aborted, 1 in 10 children abused, 43% fatherless, 90% of homeless/runaways, 80% of rapists, 71% of pregnant teens and dropouts, 85% of youth in prison from fatherless homes. Sensitive: misuse of the verse to excuse child abuse (3:15). Private details (the speaker’s wife’s name and employer) appear only in the transcript.
