From the sermonThe Sign of Sickness vs Sin — May 23, 2021 · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

After a reading on Mary seeking Jesus at the tomb, Pastor David G. Kincer asks whether sickness comes from sin. Jesus said the man born blind suffered neither for his sin nor his parents’, but to reveal God’s works. Islanders assumed Paul was guilty when bitten. Sin can bring harm, but Jesus heals rather than accuses.

What did Mary find?

Short answer: The stone taken from the tomb; she ran to Simon Peter.

▶ 0:00 I’d like to welcome this morning and thank you for joining us it’s good to have everybody in the room and online. And this morning we’re going to begin with the seeking time we’re going to take some time so we got to switch our gears here a little bit and uh we’ve got to take some time we were uh miss woods and we were here early this morning about 8 30 and we just started praying mr woods was here too and and God was he was coming and he was speaking and he was showing up and uh I want to go through the scripture reading this morning and it’s going to be a it’s longer than usual so you might want to sit down. But I think it’s so imperative. And this morning we want to really take time seek God hear what he has to say to us.

▶ 0:55 Hear what he has to say to the church. So let’s listen to what God has to say in John chapter 20 verse 38. Joseph of arimathea. Took the body of Jesus. And nicodemus also came and he brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes. And they took the body of Jesus and they bounded in strips of linen with the spices as the custom of the Jews is to bury and they lay Jesus in the near by tomb. And these two men. Did a good thing for. Jesus. John 20 verse 1. Now the first day of the week Mary magdalene went to the tomb early while it was still dark and saw that the stone.

▶ 1:56 Had been taken away from the tomb and she ran and came to Simon Peter. So here we have Mary is recognizing something Peter therefore went out and the other disciple and were going to the tomb and they ran together. And he stooped down looking in saw the linen claws lying there yet he did not go in that was John. Then Peter came following him he went into the tomb and he saw the line and linen clothes lying there. The other disciple who came to the tomb went in also and he saw. The cl the linen and he believed. So both John and Peter went into the tomb and they found Jesus’s clothes that he was wearing.

▶ 2:53 And they believed they believed that Jesus had risen they didn’t know about this whole story yet but they believed that Jesus had risen from the grave and then the disciples went away again to their own homes. But Mary. Stood outside by the tomb. Weeping. And as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb and she saw two angels. And they said to her woman why are you weeping. She said to them because they have taken away my Lord and I do not know where they have laid him. And now when she had said this she turned around and saw Jesus. Standing there she did not know it was him.

Scripture (NKJV)

John 20:1-2 (NKJV)

Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”

What did Jesus ask Mary?

▶ Watch this part (3:48)

Short answer: Why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:48 And the woman’s and Jesus said to her why are you weeping. And Jesus said to her whom are you seeking. And God was reminding me last night or recently about this Joseph and Joseph of arimathea and nicodemus. They came and they saw the Jesus who was dead but Jesus at that time was not speaking and could not speak they came to do. A a ceremony for Jesus. Peter and John were satisfied with coming to the tomb seeing the linen cloths seeing the miracles that Jesus had done but they did not continue on to find and seek. The man.

Scripture (NKJV)

John 20:15 (NKJV)

Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

What set Mary apart?

▶ Watch this part (4:40)

Short answer: She stayed — she sought God Himself, not just what He offers — and conversed with Him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:40 But Mary. She stayed. She stayed. She saw the linen cloth. She was there. At the burial. She saw Jesus dead she saw the linen cloths come off of him but she said I’m not satisfied with. That. And Jesus acknowledges it acknowledges it and he says whom. Whom are you. Seeking and God is asking us that today. Are we stopping at are we looking for the miracles.

▶ 5:33 Are we looking for just the forgiveness or whatever Jesus has to offer. Or are we seeking. Our God. The man. The living God Jesus Christ himself. She’s supposing him to be the gardener said if you carry if it carried him away tell me where you have laid him and I will take him away again she is looking for her master. And Jesus said to her Mary. She turned and said teacher master rabona had been revealed that it was him. And you see here Mary.

▶ 6:27 Spoke with Jesus. Mary conversed. With God. And that is what happens when we seek God when we find God he speaks to us. Nicodemus and Joseph did not have that experience. Because they were burying Jesus who was dead. But we seek the living God. The resurrected king. Or God is asking you today are we willing to. So I’m going to stop here I have more verses but let’s stop here. Let’s get on our knees let’s take some time grab a pat over there maybe even come up to the front.

▶ 7:20 We need to seek God for a few minutes. For some time. Till we come to find him. We need to seek our God the living God Jesus Christ the man. And not all the other side things let’s come before him this. Morning. We labor in vain. Let’s take time. Let’s take. Time to wait upon.

▶ 8:15 The Lord. Let’s take time. To his son to his voice. Unless. Let’s take time. To. While they continue to play let’s lift up our voices and seek God this. Morning.

▶ 31:02 Said if up. Be lifted up from the let earth higher. Lift Jesus. Lift him up for the world to see. He said if I. Be lifted up from the earth I would draw a man unto thee. Left Jesus higher. Let Jesus hire. Lift him up for the world to see. He set it by be lifted up from the earth I will draw a man unto me.

▶ 32:05 He said if I. Be lifted up from the earth I will draw. He said if I. Be lifted up from the earth I will draw. Men. Unto. Me. Thank you Jesus Lord. You are exalted you are exalted Lord. Jesus. Jesus. Oh great is your name Lord. God you are good.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

Oh God Lord like the greatest and the first commandment that I can do is love my God. This morning Jesus God we don’t. Want to follow that example we want to follow Mary’s example.

▶ 34:44 God Lord. Seeking you and loving you God. Lord Mary and Martha God when they came before you Jesus or a time than they had with you God Lord you said to Mary. That she had chosen. One thing is needful and Mary has chosen that good part which shall not be taken from her God Lord we want to be. Like that. Jesus Jesus coming before your feet doing the thing that is the most necessary the first part of all this and that is to love you to come before your feet God. Jesus please this morning. And Lord to people that come in the church Jesus. Lord when we make time for you God that you come and speak to their spirit God. With your power your glory Jesus. I. Love you. Lord. I lift my voice. Why were the signs written?

▶ Watch this part (48:07)

Short answer: That you may believe; as Peter confessed, the Father reveals Christ.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 48:07 Again we’re going to look in John chapter 20 verse 30 at this miraculous verse powerful verse. It says that many other signs many other miracles did Jesus in the presence of his disciples. Which are not written in this book of John. But these are written in the book of John that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ the messiah. That you may believe he is the son of God and that by believing that he is Christ the messiah and the son of God you may have life in his name eternal life. In a new heaven and a new earth an abundant life. While on earth powerful powerful verse so we are taking a look at the miracles the signs that God had John write in the gospel of John.

▶ 49:07 In Matthew 16:17 Peter said you are the Christ the son of the living God the very exact words that John said. Believe Christ. And believe Jesus is the Christ and Jesus is the son of God Jesus replied to Peter this amazing statement flesh and blood has not revealed that to you Peter you didn’t get that by human intellect you didn’t get that by some sermon you didn’t get that by some man telling you but my father in heaven revealed that to you and so we see that christianity. Is way above any other religion in the earth christianity is a religion where God is involved and he is participating in the salvation of people he is the one doing the revealing he is the one giving us the faith and the belief to believe in Jesus he’s the son of God God is doing all this and too many people are giving credit to faith grace and and and ministers when as the theme of this morning.

▶ 50:20 Jesus Christ is still the one we should be seeking and we should be finding amen. So we’re going to take a look today at another sign in the gospel of John and we’re going to get the question answered that many have our infirmities our sicknesses are bad things that happen to us caused by sin. And so we’re going to take a look at this next sign. Where. Sickness. Is uh or sickness versus sin Jesus is going to answer this question and we see in John chapter 9 verses 1-3. Jesus came along with his disciples and he noticed a blind man and Jesus knowing that he was born that way.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 20:30-31 (NKJV)

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

— John 20:30-31 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 48:07

Who sinned, this man or his parents?

▶ Watch this part (51:17)

Short answer: The disciples assumed sin caused his blindness, or predestination.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 51:17 He knew he was born that way the apostles knew he was born that way and so these big apostles who had been casting out demons. Healing the sick preaching the gospel people getting saved they asked this famous question. Who sinned. Did this man sin or did his parents sin that he was born. Blind. This idea that bad things happen to people because they’ve done something wrong has been around for over 2000 years. And these apostles who heard Jesus preaching every day. Asked a ridiculous question this man was born blind how could he sin.

▶ 52:17 The sin in the womb. Or did they believe in predestination like many Christians do you know God’s ordained you to sin and go to hell and God’s ordained you to overcome your sin and go to heaven we don’t have any choice in the matter. And that’s been a question. For two thousand years. Jesus replied very simply and clearly neither this man nor his parents sin. But that the works of God the glory of God should be revealed in this man that’s why he was born blind God takes responsibility. Of our birth. Unless that mother.

▶ 53:10 Takes drugs and drinks alcohol and does things to her body to deform that child. God takes responsibility. For how that child is born. He says in Exodus 4:11 who makes the mute who makes the deaf who makes the seeing who makes the blind have not I the Lord and see we want to kill any baby in the womb we know that’s going to be deformed. But God says I made them. I made them I love them I want you to love them could that be an amen God takes responsibility for that. And so God who chooses to do his will in heaven and earth decided that this man was going to be born blind so that Jesus could come along.

Scripture (NKJV)

John 9:1-2 (NKJV)

Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

— John 9:1-2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 51:17

What did Jesus answer?

▶ Watch this part (54:05)

Short answer: Neither — but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 54:05 And heal him. And teach us that he is the son of God that he is the Christ and through their faith in him might have abundant life here now and eternal life to come. That’s. The power of God. He takes total responsibility. Again they said that this parent’s sin. If they knew their scriptures they knew that wouldn’t be true. But these apostles didn’t know their scriptures yet their understanding hadn’t been opened yet just because people can heal the sick and cast out demons and preach the gospel it doesn’t mean they have clarity of teaching the book from Genesis to Revelation do you understand that. In Deuteronomy 24:16 and in Ezekiel 18 and 20 and also in Ezekiel 33.

Are children punished for parents’ sins?

▶ Watch this part (55:05)

Short answer: Fathers shall not be put to death for children, nor children for fathers.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 55:05 Fathers are not put to death for their children. Nor children. Are put to death for their fathers each dies for his own sin so it didn’t matter what these parents did God is not going to punish this child. For the sins of those parents. And when that child grows up and becomes a rebel or a teenager that goes out and does bad things and all the rest or whatever these things happen God isn’t going to punish those parents. For the behavior of that child but what does the church want to do they want to blame. Both but everybody’s accountable for their own behavior is that an amen see we’re getting very clear answers. When John said these signs were written for a purpose we’re finding there is a purpose in them.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Deuteronomy 24:16 (NKJV)

“Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their fathers; a person shall be put to death for his own sin.

What did the barbarians think?

▶ Watch this part (56:04)

Short answer: When the viper bit Paul, they assumed he was a murderer; he shook it off unharmed.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 56:04 Even the barbarians thought this now. In John 9 we’re dealing with people that believed in God. But here Paul is shipwrecked on an island where they’re barbarians they never heard of the gospel they never heard of Jesus they never heard of the God the creator they are heathen. And he is healing their sick. Okay. And these barbarians. They build a fire and Paul went to get some wood to put on the fire and as he’s about ready to put it on a snake a viper bites him and it’s clinging to him and not letting him go just pumping that venom in and everything and just pumping it in. And these barbarians.

▶ 56:56 Because they think the same way as God’s people do that bad things happen because you did something bad. They said amongst themselves no doubt this man is a murderer. And justice has caught up with him and not allowing him to live yeah he got bit because he’s bad. And he’s healing they’re sick. See this mentality is strong and it’s been strong. Since the the world began and it’s strong today. Bad things happen because you were bad you did something wrong. Then Paul shook that snake off into the fire.

▶ 57:52 An hour or so goes by and they’re waiting. And he isn’t puffing up he isn’t getting delirious he isn’t in agony he’s just. Being Paul. Then they changed their thinking. The scriptures say they changed their mind. Not to believe in Paul’s God. That Paul’s been telling them about and healing the sick not the God that healed their sick. Now they’re saying that Paul’s a God. And that’s just like the church world in Christ time and it’s just like the church world in our day if God uses anybody we elevate them and make them a hero and worship with God then we expect them to meet every need we have and we get distracted from Jesus Christ the real healer the real deliverer.

▶ 58:56 And are looking for men and women to solve our financial problems our emotional problems our mental problems our sin problems we are looking unto people. Just like they did with Paul. And Jesus is clearing all this up. You know it says in the book of mark by the way this is a fulfillment of the book of mark where he says you shall take up serpents and if you dread drink any deadly thing it shall not harm you he isn’t saying that you got to pick up a snake to prove your faith like some people do you shouldn’t be doing anything to prove your faith. If you’ve got faith God put it there you don’t have to prove anything because you got it proves that God gave it to you can I hear an amen you don’t have to do I don’t have to walk on water I don’t have to do anything to prove I’m I’ve got faith in Christ that’s called faith in your faith and that doesn’t save anybody.

▶ 1:00:06 And so Paul and so the scriptures show us the fulfillment of that by Paul accidentally being bitten by a snake and no harm came to him and and God favors his people and I’ll just give you a couple illustrations. You know I was about 15 years ago I was out looking for property for the church with an office worker and we were walking in this field of cows and cow piles were everywhere and we were walking through this field and I hear a rattlesnake. I mean I’ve heard them many times in my life so I know what the sound is and I said there’s a rattler around here somewhere and we I just kept walking because it sounded like it was a long way off and it never stopped so finally I stopped and I said where in the world is that thing and then I noticed something moved right over to my left and I looked down and there is a black rattlesnake.

Scripture (NKJV)

Acts 28:3-6 (NKJV)

But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.

What happened on the mountain?

▶ Watch this part (1:01:00)

Short answer: A rattlesnake struck at him repeatedly and missed; God gave peace without fear.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:01:00 An Arizona black rattlesnake in California I don’t know how he got here he’s out of his domain but that rattlesnake was blacker than ace of spades. And. He’s all called up and rattling that tale and we scooted. But you see God favored us he could have easily have struck me easily. I was in the mountains I like to go to the mountains when I was younger and hike in my hill building you can’t take the hillbilly out of the hillbilly you can take the hillbilly out of the hills but you can’t take the hills out of the hillbilly and I’m up in the hills shooting my gun all by myself and climbing in the ravines up to the top of the mountains and everybody knows when I come down a mountain I don’t mess around I come rebounding down.

▶ 1:01:54 I’m bounding down this mountain I come up on a rock it’s about four five foot high from the path below and I hit that rock and I jumped and as I jumped I saw this rattlesnake. Stretched out on that path. You know a three or four foot rattler snake looks like a 30-footer for sure. Man. I I mean and all this happened in a split second the adrenaline came in I went down on my knees put my hands on the ground and I sprung back up with my hands and and my knees and I jump right back up on that five foot rock you try to do that without an adrenaline flowing. I took my pistol out and I shot five shots on him bam.

▶ 1:02:47 Missed every time. And he just slowly crawled I mean he was teasing me just slowly crawled away not in a hurry at all. What I’m telling you that is you can trust God to protect you folks when I went to third world countries I had to trust God to protect me there’s parasites there’s diseases their food can be bad and if you know the food is bad you don’t eat it by faith. That’s tempting God you just say I can’t eat that. You know you know you don’t test God but if you do eat something better. God’s going to protect you that’s the bottom line and I’ve seen my colleagues eat just trying to show their faith and I’ve seen them almost die.

▶ 1:03:42 You know [unclear] just say I can’t eat that food it. And God will protect you even [unclear]ban gorillas when I was in central America. They were over. Trying to change the land the nation from. Democracy to communism and these guerrillas found out that gringos were there and edie’s father John afaro was with me my interpreter. And uh the gorillas would get up on a hill and they would see the lights down in the you’re out in the middle of nowhere there’s nothing around but jungle and they would fire in to the meeting. And they heard these missionary gringos were there and they were coming to get them and so we had to walk through the jungle we couldn’t go back by the road because they were waiting for us and these locals took us through the jungle fording rivers and and uh everything that’s in the jungle in the middle of the night to get back to civilization.

▶ 1:04:55 And neither Brother [name] or me had one ounce of fear the peace of God is there when you need it and there was no worry we were just laughing and talking and carrying on. God backs up his scriptures. And you can count on him to protect you that’s just a side meal dish from the food we’re eating today. So. We’re going to go to the guy who was crippled at the pool of bethesda we’re going to ask the same question. Now that we know this man’s mother and father’s sins didn’t bring his blindness he was born that way let’s go to another one we already talked about this fella he was crippled and been in that condition for a long time he was not born that way.

▶ 1:05:57 Something happened to cause him to be crippled. And Jesus comes up to him and says you got faith. Do you have enough faith. No he didn’t say that. He said rise up take up your bed and walk. Then what happened God revealed to the man. That Jesus was healing him his faith came and he rose up took up his bed and walked God revealed God did this thing. God doesn’t measure your faith. To what he wants to do for you if you got enough faith to believe in God the rest is just God in you.

▶ 1:06:49 Can I hear an amen yes he isn’t measuring this he will you know your face like this and you need this much faith for me to do what you want no that’s not the way it is. God is able to do much more than what. All that we can ask or think he can do above what all that we can ask. Our faith can’t even ask it and we don’t even think it he can do it. He’s that kind of God. Jesus is a healer and so the man takes up his bed and walks then Jesus meets him later and says you’ve been made well. Go and sin no more least a worse thing.

Can sin bring sickness?

▶ Watch this part (1:07:40)

Short answer: Yes; he cites sexually transmitted disease, alcohol and tobacco deaths.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:07:40 Come up on you oh. So sin can bring bad things. And let me give you some illustrations. If you’re going to be sexually permissive. And not honor God’s. Commandment. To keep sex for marriage between a man and a woman. The Bible says and statistics tell you. That sexually transmitted diseases. You can be infected with there’s almost 30 of them today in America there used to be three now there’s almost 30 since the sexual revolution. 65 million Americans I just read.

▶ 1:08:34 In 2020. Have an incurable. It cannot be cured sexually transmitted disease over 50 percent of Americans have had or have now a sexually transmitted disease some of these diseases are incurable and some of them are killers thousands die every year from sexually transmitted diseases. And will they take it as a sign to stop the sin humble themself and pray. No they just want science to bring a cure. They don’t want to change their ways they don’t believe God is involved in this stuff and God can. Heal them God can change their situation they look to science to come out with better medicine doctors with better methods.

▶ 1:09:35 And I read an article a few years ago that sexual permissiveness is so bad in Hollywood that the actors jokingly say you give me yours and I’ll give you mine. Yeah no remorse no taking any responsibility for the problem just and then they take the medicine. And the tabloids go to their trash can to find out who’s got the sexual disease they see their medicine bottles there. That’s how the tabloids find out what’s going on. And they’re willing to live with it to do what they want to do. Drugs. Thousands die every year from drugs. Overdose and dug drug-related.

▶ 1:10:28 Deaths but instead of taking the warning and stopping they just want science to rehabilitate them go into rehab get rehabilitated go back out and do it again they are just looking for mankind to find solutions and they’re even copping out and saying that it’s a disease. Addiction is a disease even bill o’reilly said addiction is a disease. He don’t know his Bible and he doesn’t know everything now he thinks he does. It’s. Sin. Let alone the harm the physical harm that comes. And the costly hospital bills alcohol is another one.

▶ 1:11:26 Thousands die from alcohol. 80 some the last time I looked every year from alcohol related deaths. And millions get hurt while under the influence of alcohol. Millions have to go to the hospital. From alcohol-related problems and the bad judgments and so forth and these things are a pandemic in themselves. Tobacco is killing almost 500 000 Americans every year. Folks that’s a pandemic. They got us wearing masks and then six foot apart and everything else. Over this flu-like thing and yet. They do nothing to save 500 000 people’s lives.

▶ 1:12:22 That make a bad choice to smoke tobacco but they won’t let any of us make a decision on how we want to handle the pandemic could that be an amen. And speaking of the pandemic God’s church is so weak in America that when the government said churches could not stay open and worship God they bowed their knee and stayed home. In Exodus it plainly says if we just knew the power of our God. And the power of his promises in Exodus it says if you Israelites will come up to me during the feast time come up to the temple and worship me and seek me I will let no one touch your crops your home or your possession.

▶ 1:13:16 It’s right there in the Bible. We talk about this big Jesus. But when problems come. He doesn’t seem to be big enough. To do what he promised to do. And we we learned that sickness. Isn’t because you’re bad if you were a Christian and you got sick during the pandemic it doesn’t mean you were a lousy Christian someone else was better it’s just God chose. That for you just like he chose the blind man for him do you understand that church. Just because he allowed you to get sick does not mean he isn’t going to heal you from the sickness. Amen. Hallelujah none of us are better than the other.

▶ 1:14:10 Our faith in God is faith enough and he makes the decisions. And they they used a pastor who went to visit his flock during the start of this pandemic because they were fearful and afraid and he went to comfort them he died of the pandemic and the news just put him on first page everywhere let’s see but he was doing what his job required him to do he was going to visit his flock and comfort them and encourage them and God chose a time for him to die folks when it comes your time to die guess what you’re going. And there is a sickness unto death. Are you there and when it comes that time you’re going I don’t care what it is goodbye world.

▶ 1:15:08 Goodbye. Hallelujah. You weren’t the worst Christian because you died during this pandemic. Anyway. God is implying here that this man did something. As the musicians come and we get ready to take communion. Jesus is. Implying. That this man did something that he was crippled could have been alcohol could have been drugs could have been something that he you know maybe he was the evil knievel of his day and tried to jump the grand canyon with 450 horses pulling his chariot and we don’t know but he did something dumb that he shouldn’t do and it brought him into a crippled condition and God didn’t say you deserve what you God did you you know I’m punishing you no Jesus came and healed him.

How did Jesus treat the man?

▶ Watch this part (1:16:17)

Short answer: He didn’t accuse him; He healed him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:16:17 He didn’t come and accuse him he came and healed him so the man did something and Jesus didn’t bring it up but he healed him but he did tell the man don’t go and do any more foolish things don’t violate God’s word anymore at least something worse come up on you you get a sexually transmitted disease that you can die from you can get another disease that you can divide from. But it doesn’t matter what every situation you’re in today folks. Jesus is saying. Whether you were born that way whether you brought it on or whether it was just an accident. He’ll heal you. And if you will just respond like these people they just responded.

▶ 1:17:14 They didn’t have any faith before he came and made himself known to them but when he did they responded. And they accepted his healing and they went away healed and whether you need neutral healing emotional healing physical healing or spiritual healing as we take communion the day. Let God heal you all right. Let him come to you and let him heal. According to thy word. My heart.

▶ 1:18:08 Be spawned. Of that. Which was spoken. For nothing. Is. Impossible. With. God. It unto me. According to my words. My heart. Responds.

▶ 1:19:01 To thee. Let there be. A. Performance. Of that which was spoken. For nothing. Is. Impossible. With God. On the night he was betrayed Jesus took bread and he broke. It and he gave each of his apostles a piece of that bread. Which later we find in scriptures is the many member body of Christ his body this bread is his body. And every member is part of that body.

What does communion show?

▶ Watch this part (1:19:56)

Short answer: The Lord’s death; we love baby, carnal and mature Christians alike as one body.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:19:56 And he says this is my body which was broken for you. As often as you eat this bread you show forth my death until I come. Knowing that the church. No matter what level a believer is at is a member of Christ’s body. And we’re not to offend. The body of Christ we’re not to hate the body of Christ. This morning let Jesus come let the Holy Spirit come and if you have any animosity. Any bad feelings toward anyone in the body of Christ whether they are catholic whether our protestant whether they are pentecostal where they’re charismatic whatever they are.

▶ 1:20:50 If Jesus is the Lord Jesus is their savior they belong to him he purchased us by his blood. And we go off into these roads into little camps. But Jesus is the one who purchased them and the one who owns them. Father today if we have anything in us. That looks down on other believers of any kind. That has hatred bad feelings in our heart for them. Lord show us. And forgive us and cleanse us from that condition. Lord we are to love one another.

▶ 1:21:42 And we gotta love baby Christians we gotta love carnal Christians. Just as much as we love mature Christians. Who don’t offend us we got to love those who do offend us who do agitate us. We ask you to cleanse us and forgive us and give us the genuine love. That you have for your church. Lord you loved us while we were still in sin surely we can love one another while we’re growing. In God. Surely Lord we can overlook the toothpick in our brother’s eye when we got a 2x4 in our own eye. Just come today Lord and just cleanse us.

▶ 1:22:36 Wash that away. And Lord never let us get sight of the fact that we are the many member body of Christ and all of us are participators in this body and all of us have a responsibility to build up the church of the living God by exhortation. By comforting them Lord Jesus and encouraging them father. Let us today take on our responsibility. Not looking to some man of God or woman of God to do our our serving for us but Lord we come into the house of God with thanksgiving in our heart with praise in our heart Lord with with the Holy Spirit in our heart with a Psalm a hymn a spiritual song a prophecy a prayer or something to contribute to the assembling of God’s people when they come together and this bread represents the body of Christ.

▶ 1:23:33 And as we eat it Lord heal us make us one as Jesus prayed father that you do. In Jesus name we ask these things let’s eat the bread together. Likewise Jesus took the cup. And he says this is. He didn’t say this is an example he didn’t say this is a shadow he said this is the new covenant in my blood. It’s the blood and death of Christ. Is why God can reveal Jesus to us he doesn’t come asking about our faith asking about grace he comes asking and inviting.

▶ 1:24:31 You to come and respond to Jesus Christ who paid the price for your salvation it was not free. He had to pay the price with his life and now he owned you the Bible says you are his property you are to do his will and keep his commandments and his laws he is a king that has laws and you are to keep his laws. And to top it off he says in this new covenant I will inscribe my laws in your minds and in your hearts I will put them there. And you will know me from the least to the greatest from the baby Christian to the senior citizen you will all know me having a relationship with me for this is the other side of eternal life to know God and his son Jesus.

▶ 1:25:41 He said I will be your supernatural God and you will be my people. I’ll never leave you I’ll never forsake you I’ll finish the good work I begin in you and your sins and iniquities I will be merciful too even after you believe on me when you sin I will be merciful. And I will put them away. In the sea of forgetfulness. Father we thank you for the death of your son Jesus Christ. We thank you Lord that he purchased us. And that means all the authority he has he’s going to do and use his authority to protect us from mental despair mental sicknesses emotional sickness physical sickness.

▶ 1:26:37 Or spiritual sickness. Lord he is going to heal us he is our Lord. And we are his servants. And we thank you Lord that you bought us we thank you for putting your laws in our minds and in our hearts we thank you Lord that we know you we thank you that you are our supernatural God working on our behalf every minute of every day fulfilling your promises to us and Lord we thank you that we know everything works to good to them that love you and are called according to your purposes. Lord even the things we think are bad you’re going to turn them to our good and we are comforted. With the knowledge and understanding. Of your word and of your power as we drink this cup Lord if we have sinned today against you we ask you to show it to us and we ask you to forgive us and cleanse us right now.

▶ 1:27:43 Any sin. Lord and the unknown sin we just say forgive us Lord the thing we’re doing that we don’t know you haven’t showed us yet as it says in the Psalm we ask you to forgive us. Lord. And Lord we just. Thank you that all the blessings of your inheritance is upon all your people not a select few all of us can hear inherit the promises of God the wisdom the knowledge the understanding the counsel the strength the fear of the Lord ah prophecy and tongues and interpretation. All of these things goodness and patience Lord all of us can have. This inheritance of God not just a select few people that you’ve chosen to preach the gospel and we thank you for it as we drink this cup we receive it in Jesus name.
