Blake Fambrough preaches on the weight Jesus carried for every sin and His disfigurement on the cross. Jesus’ words are spirit and life. God’s presence convicts without condemning, as the woman who touched His hem found. The letter kills but the Spirit gives life, and the message closes with a pledge of allegiance to Jesus.

All right let’s pray this morning we’re gonna ask God to come I was reading a scripture recently about how Jesus had just healed the blind man and Jesus said something very important he said during the day I am healing people I’m yelling people during the day but the night is coming but nothing’s gonna be going on and that’s how I like maybe where we’re at the night but remember what happens in the morning the sun rises and it’s a beautiful day.

▶ 1:23 Arise and Jesus gonna do a mighty work. And it’s gonna be wonderful so that being said let’s exalt returning to our our God Jesus expand and worship witness. Oh.

▶ 2:38 Is. Oh.

▶ 5:08 Oh. No.

▶ 13:28 Line. My. Raise your you

▶ 15:11 just see it right now show there is help coming to the head to that clip and all hope is lost their tune. In their mind since they cannot do this to us how to do this but I don’t know God you had a plan you had a perfect you had a goal and you have a promise. You told. The truth. You stand.

▶ 17:55 As far as this morning. Well Jesus right now acknowledged I’ve read. The scriptures say that all things are held together by you knew all things consist honor hell together Jesus we’re done. They’re not afraid. You’re in control right. Now as a church that’s just lift up our voices and ask God to do his work. We know.

▶ 20:00 We’re done we look to you this morning out Lord our country God it seems that there is an unseen battle going on Lord that we can’t see the details of no you can’t see the attackers gotta do they are their bowls in there we don’t see that we’re right here in the ocean but God just like the kingdom of darkness stop you see the kingdom of darkness you see this going on and how hard you can’t destroy it in the darkness you can stop the darkness God. You can stop all this. Let’s sing this one.

Who brings the message?

▶ Watch this part (22:36)

Short answer: Blake Fambrough is invited up to preach.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 22:36 Blake Fambrough come on up. It’s good to be in God’s house. Amen. Miss woods and I were singing a song as for never miss woods. We were having a good time this one that crazy God she came up with this song and we were about coming into God’s house.

▶ 23:17 Ready all right thank you thank you good morning for the ones that are watching online or the ones that are here turn to your distant neighbor tell them be anxious for nothing tell them God loves you open it to mark chapter 15 verse 34 mark chapter 15 verse 34 this particular verse which was left in its original aramaic language because the translators were not able to translate this particular verse one out with 100% accuracy it was hard for them to put it into words so they left it in its original aramaic language and this is the best that we could do and at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice saying eli eli lama shabbat and I which is translated into my God my God why have you forsaken me at that moment on the cross Jesus had a conversation with God the father that’s beyond our comprehension it’s beyond our understanding Jesus at that moment was abandoned by God almighty.

What weight was on Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (24:30)

Short answer: He took on every sin for every person.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 24:30 Can you imagine just imagine the weight that that was on Jesus at that time listen Jesus took on every sin for every person for all time. Jesus became sin at that moment the Bible says in Matthew 27:50 and when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice he gave up his spirit people heard such an agony because the presence of God left geez this is the same spirit or the same presence of God that departed from Saul the Bible says in 1st Samuel 1614 now the spirit of the Lord had departed from Saul and an evil spirit from the Lord tormented him this is the same spirit that was true from the tip will do to the people’s sin in idolatry mama says in Ezekiel 5:11 it states therefore as I live declares the Lord God surely because you have defiled my sanctuary with your detestable things and with all your abominations therefore I withdrew it devastated Jesus that God abandoned him so let me ask you this question what killed Jesus did Jesus die due to the enormous emotional pain that he took on at the cross when he was hanging on the cross did he die for the lack of blood.

How badly was Jesus beaten?

▶ Watch this part (25:55)

Short answer: His appearance was marred more than any man.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 25:55 Jesus was beaten and battered on the cross so bad the Bible says in Isaiah 52:14. His appearance was so disfigured. Beyond that of any human being in his form marred beyond human likeness he. Was unrecognizable as a human being on the cross did did the Jews kill Jesus did pontius Pilate kill Jesus was it the same heejun court that killed Jesus did the roman soldiers kill Jesus what killed Jesus I submit to you two things had to happen for Jesus to die in his physical body number one Jesus had to stop talking he had to stop talking though the words are Jesus’s words are so powerful that when he spoke dead men are raised back to life the physically ill are healed minds are restored the lame walk the blind see the laws of nature obey his commands Jesus’ words alone spoke the world into existence as long as Jesus was able to speak death was held that day.

Scripture (NKJV)

Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men;

— Isaiah 52:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:55

What are Jesus’ words?

▶ Watch this part (27:02)

Short answer: They are spirit and they are life; this church will never die if it keeps speaking God’s word.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 27:02 The Bible says in John 6:63 the words that I speak they are to you they are spirit and they are life the words that Jesus speak they are spirit and they are life as long as Jesus had a conversation with the people at the crucifixion death could not touch him because the words out of Jesus’s mouth were the words of God himself the second thing that had to happen for Jesus to die was the spirit Jesus had to had a release his spirit he had to give up his spirit as long as the presence of God was with Jesus he could not die the Bible says Jesus gave up his spirit he had to release his spirit and then he died the moment Jesus stopped talking and he and he gave up his spirit his physical body died I say that to say this as long as we are we are active in the word of God as long as we are confessing the word of God as long as we take time to welcome and experience the presence of the Lord we will never die spiritually.

▶ 28:01 This church will never die if we continue to speak God’s word which is the truth live by God’s word welcome and give attention to the presence of the Lord we will never die spiritually we will die physically but we will never die spiritually if we learn to enter into his presence and appreciate his presence because when his presence withdrawals in God’s word is no longer active in our lives we die spiritually. Jesus and his presence is the key to our success it’s the key to your success the Bible says in in John 10:10 that he which is Jesus which includes his presence has come to give you life and give it to you more abundantly he’s come to give you some life and he’s come to give it to you abundantly the Bible says in 1st Corinthians 3:17 tell us the the Lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is present there is freedom.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 6:63 (NKJV)

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

— John 6:63 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 27:02

Why did Jesus die naked?

▶ Watch this part (28:58)

Short answer: He was connected to Adam, who was naked and unashamed in the garden.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 28:58 Jesus died naked on the cross why because Jesus was connected to Adam in the garden of eden the Bible says in Genesis 2:25 that Adam was naked and he was not ashamed many scholars believe the reason why he was not ashamed of because the presence of God or the glory of God clothed Adam but when but when he sinned the Bible says in Genesis 3:8 Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord why this is very important when you get into the presence of the Lord not only will give you life it’ll give you courage it’ll give you strength it will give you boldness it’ll give you blessings but God’s presence will expose sin in your life God’s presence will expose sin in your life Adam never noticed that he that he didn’t have any clothing on because he was clothed in God’s glory but once he sinned once he disobeyed God it exposed his sin there is something about seeking the Lord and keeping the presence of the Lord in our lives it exposes sin in our lives that’s why it’s so crucial to go to church and get convicted and become more like Christ we need more than little songs and little talks and little and teachings we need to get into the presence of God so he can bring up those things that only surface in our lives and convicts us to turn from sin and to turn to righteousness the Holy Spirit will come into your life if you let him he doesn’t come

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Genesis 2:25 (NKJV)

And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

— Genesis 2:25 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 28:58

How does God convict?

▶ Watch this part (30:29)

Short answer: Not in an ugly, condemning way that makes you feel worthless; in His presence things you wrestled with fall away.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 30:29 in an ugly condemning way that cause you to feel like you’re worthless that you’re a nobody you’re nothing he comes in a gentle merciful voice and will that will begin to expose things in your life the things that are not pleasing to God the things that you think the things that you say the things that you do he starts to expose those things because he wants you to correct those things and turn to righteousness it is amazing how the Holy Spirit very gently brings up sin in your life the spirit is telling us to repent from this turn from this you need to get this right in your life you need the Holy Spirit we need the Holy Spirit to bless us but we also need it to convict us to become more like Christ I need God’s word in my life to drive me to my knees to awaken me to the fact that I’m broken and I’m sinful and I need Jesus to fix me.

▶ 31:21 You will sear your own conscience with a hot iron but once you get into his presence suddenly those things that you’ve written off start coming up and the Holy Spirit convicts you and exposes sin in your life and when you get your sins washed away through Jesus he’s the only one that can do that you can get happy that’s why the Bible says Psalms 16:11 in your presence is the fullness of joy sitting with me in your presence is the fullness of joy in his presence you have the power of his word the power of his blood and the power of his name Jesus to defeat the Devil and to kick him out of your life you can live a victorious life through Christ he guarantees you that Jacob in the Bible in Genesis 28:12 it says he got it Jacob got into the presence of the Lord and dreamed a ladder it reached all the way to the heavens and the angels were ascending and they were descending and the Bible says in Genesis 28:22 he said in this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house and all of that you give me I will surely give you a tenth to you so in other words Jacob was saying Lord if you bless me I’m gonna give you a tenth of everything that I make now listen this is the important part Jacob when he was in God’s presence he never brought up money not one time the jacobs think about money but what is absolutely remarkable is when you get into the presence of the Lord the Holy Spirit it will bring up things within you that you never thought about and

Why did Jacob tithe?

▶ Watch this part (32:51)

Short answer: Out of love, not law or obligation.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 32:51 that’s exactly what happened to Jacob he started tithing and he did it out of love he didn’t do it out of law or obligation and the Bible says in Genesis 30:43 Jacob became very rich. When you seek the Lord and get into his presence it will stir up the good and it will stir up the bad when you seek the Lord and get into his presence it will stir up the good and it will stir up the bad there are things in my life and in your life that only we will find when we get into the presence of God so let me ask you this question when was the last time you felt conviction in your life to change to become more like Christ when it was the last time you’ve actually grieved over sin in your life.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Genesis 28:22 (NKJV)

And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”

— Genesis 28:22 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 32:51

What did John witness?

▶ Watch this part (33:37)

Short answer: The Spirit descending like a dove and remaining on Jesus.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 33:37 In the Bible when Jesus was being baptized the scripture tells us in John 1:32 and John bore witness saying I saw the spirit descending from heaven like a dove and it remained upon him the spirit was like a dove and it remained upon Jesus the Holy Spirit remained upon Jesus so the question is how do we get this spirit to remain upon us how do we get the Holy Spirit to be with us in our daily living christianity is a superior way to live how do we get him to impact our daily living a dove represents the Holy Spirit not a roaring lion but a dove a dove is gentle it’s very observant it’s very flighty and if you got to be careful when you get around a dove Noah in the Bible he opened the window to the ark and there was a dove he let it he let out a dove and the dove came back to Noah because no one knew how to welcome the Holy Spirit and the dove had an olive branch in his mouth and it was evidence of the new world if we glorify God with clean living seek after righteousness praise Jesus honor Jesus fear and obey God and his presence will bring evidence of a new world in your life.

▶ 34:49 Remember with Noah the old world had been flooded out and the spirit came and it will come to you directly and make all things new that’s why the Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation old things have passed away behold all things have become new. This is the job of the Holy Spirit the job of the Holy Spirit is to lead you into all truth the Bible says that it is the truth and the job of the Holy Spirit is to lead you into all truth but you have to let it to lead you have to you have the it has to do you have to let it lead you to truth the Bible says in John 16:13 1 that when the spirit of the truth has come there it is the spirit of the truth has come he will guide you into all truth he will guide you to the word of God which is the truth the spirit will help you pray vaman says in Romans 8:26 for we do not know what we should pray as we ought but the spirit himself seeks intercession for us the spirit helps us to drives us to the truth it drives us to what we need to pray it leads us into the path of righteousness it is crucial for us to welcome and experience the presence of the Lord in our lives that is why the story with the Bible in the Bible with the woman with the issue of blood which is so important the Bible says in Luke 8:44 she became behind she came behind him and touched the hem of

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 1:32 (NKJV)

And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.

— John 1:32 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 33:37

How long since you touched Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (36:20)

Short answer: The woman touched the hem of His garment and was healed immediately.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Blake Fambrough

▶ 36:20 his garment and immediately the issue of her blood stopped notice what the scripture said she touched the hem of his garment say that with me say the hem of his garment and immediately the issue of her blood stopped now listen the woman with the issue of blood she did not touch Jesus she touched something that touched him she touched something that touched him in other words if you touch him you get into his presence and then you go back to work you go back to your house you go back to school and you’re around people who don’t know Christ and even though they may not want to touch Christ if you have touched Jesus if you touch him you’re able to touch him for them. Because I have been with Jesus if they touch me they touch him which is Jesus if I have the word within me I’ve been studying because of his pray and I’ve been in his presence he can bring out what I need to tell them to bless them if I’m touched by Jesus I’m able to touch them.

▶ 37:27 So the question is but this is the question how long has it been since you’ve actually touched Jesus you’ve actually been with Jesus you’ve actually been in the word how long has it been since you’ve actually touched Jesus the Bible says in Acts 4:13 now catch this they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men men but yet they marvelled at him listen and they realized that they had been with the Lord in other words these guys are brilliant it’s not because they have fancy fancy college degrees or they got high-powered jobs or they got a big bank account it’s because they’ve been with the Lord there’s something absolutely remarkable about these people. Outstanding about these two people Peter and John touched Jesus and they touched them as a Christian our job is to get close to him so when we encounter him and we encounter him and we also encounter the loss than the dying of this world were able to touch them for Christ.

▶ 38:38 Paul put it this way in first Timothy 5:21 I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Everyone say charge when you get into the presence of the Lord you get charged your batteries get charged it strengthens you it gives you vitality to conquer the things that you need to do for that day it gives you it rises up things within you to where you’re able to be more than a conqueror through Christ now in closing God told Moses in Exodus 32:34. That my angel shall go before you my promises are in you and I love Moses’s attitude but Jesus said I’m not gonna go with you because I’m upset with my people they’ve been worshiping this golden calf Moses you go lead the people and Moses stopped two and a half million people and he said this back to God and Exodus 33:15 if your presence does not go with us do not bring us up here if your presence does not go with us do not bring us up from here in other words teaching is wonderful education is wonderful it’s outstanding it as much as you can but there is nothing that will replace the presence of the Lord you can be taught the word of God.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 8:44 (NKJV)

came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.

What gives life?

▶ Watch this part (40:00)

Short answer: The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

And I have to say the statues and images of Jesus should not be torn down.

▶ 40:53 The good news is they can never and they can never take the true spirit of Jesus Christ out of the lives of his followers they can never do it. We have to stand up and fight for what’s right and God’s word will not return void. Now I’m gonna close in prayer. Lord Jesus we thank you for this day and we thank you for your word which is the truth we ask you to give us the strength and the boldness to get into your presence so that we can be a conquering force for your righteousness and for what you stand for Lord we stand upon your your word we stand upon Christ which is the solid rock we thank you for the blessings that we received here in America we ask you to give us wisdom from above we need it and you’ll see and you say you give it to us liberally so we asked for it so that we can do the right thing and fear you and obey you we ask you to bless what we put our hands to and I say this prayer in Jesus’s name.

▶ 42:44 With. When. It. Ah.

▶ 44:39 Fine. Let your leases this morning if you want to commit yourself to Jesus his father’s and his words that’s it that’s the greatest dogs in the whole world it’s a God’s of the kingdom of God it’s his meat we gotta make sure people for the kingdom of God that is the greatest time and we need to fight through that cause if you want to fight for his cause and be a warrior like this morning we say a warrior for the kingdom of God this morning let this song. Sing it with hurtness with power that you are committing yourself the being a warrior with Jesus Christ pledge your allegiance. Not another trick only Jesus Christ.
