What is offered to young people?

▶ Watch this part (21:29)

Short answer: Sheets for note-taking and a challenge to read three gospels, including John, before December 23.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 21:29 Foreign. We have some sheets this morning for young people that want to get the Bible word they are also reading the gospels before December 23rd this year and three of the gospels and one has to be John but also during the message and during the sermon it’s it’s good to take notes so whether you take notes or or follow along in the sheet it’s uh it’ll help and if you take these home you can study them and you can get some of God’s word in you that’s very important. You know instead of just reading the whole Bible you can get a message that is together and and review it this morning we want to talk about God’s pattern.

What is a high place?

▶ Watch this part (22:28)

Short answer: Worship however people wanted; Hezekiah removed them and broke the bronze serpent.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 22:28 And we’re going to start by looking at a the high place the scriptures on high places. A high place in second Kings 18:4 it says he removed the high places and broke the images and cut down the groves he broken and breaking pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made for unto thee those days the children of Israel burned incense to it I think these this is in the days of Hezekiah Hezekiah was a good king and if.

▶ 23:03 You read the Chronicles and the kings you always see it mentioned where it talks about uh. You know Asa or this guy or that guy he was he he had his heart out for the Lord he was following God except he did not remove the high places and sometimes the king came around like Josiah and Hezekiah that removed the high places Psalm 78 verse 58 for they provoked him to anger with their high places to him talking about God and moved him to jealousy with their graven images so here we have just a picture of what could be a high place a high place is where they would sacrifice a high place is where they would maybe bring pull out their idol and worship that you know you didn’t know what was going on in the high place and the simple thing is is that the high place was not according to the pattern.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

2 Kings 18:4 (NKJV)

He removed the high places and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the wooden image and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it, and called it Nehushtan.

— 2 Kings 18:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:28 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What pattern did God give?

▶ Watch this part (24:06)

Short answer: The tabernacle shown to Moses on the mountain—altar, laver, holy place, candlestick and the ark with its mercy seat.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 24:06 The high place was whatever the people wanted it to be. But God has a pattern in Exodus chapter 26:30 as we learned in our message about let’s go up we learned that Moses went up to the mountain and when he went up to the mountain he was given a pattern shown him on top of the mountain you shall raise up the tabernacle according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain so we see that it’s very important when you meet God and he gives you a message he was Moses was given this this pattern that we should follow. And in his day it was the tabernacle the picture is up there on the screen Exodus 25 verse 8 let me make let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them now we know in other scriptures it says that God does not dwell in temples made with hands right so even this tabernacle.

▶ 25:12 Was just a an example as we will learn in just a few moments you shall make it according to all that I show you the pattern of the tabernacle or dwelling and the furnishings of it I’m just confirming here with other places in the scriptures that say that talk about this tabernacle as a pattern. So this is for the young people that may never have uh. Seen the tabernacle don’t know anything about so at the beginning here you have uh the the curtain and at the front and this is the door the gate okay I mean it doesn’t look like a gate but it’s the where you enter okay. So as soon as you walk in you see this first thing here and this is the brazen altar.

▶ 26:04 And it had. This is where the priest would cut the meat and also. Burn it as an offering unto God so back in the Old Testament they would kill animals and burn them as an offering unto God that was God’s. Law at the time. So you’ll see that there’s four horns on the altar one two three four they would sprinkle the blood on the horns of the altar and they would burn the meat burn it unto God as an offering. I see the little sprinkles there yeah. So here’s the laver the laver was the next piece and this is where the priests would wash and wash their hands and also if you if you look uh they would also watch the inward parts of the animal that they were about the inward parts and then they would take the inward parts and they would burn it and you think what in the world are they doing right but you’ve got to understand when you look at this it’s there’s there’s an example there’s a shadow there’s a there’s something happening that God is trying to show us.

▶ 27:29 So this is the laver where they would wash okay now this is the entrance to the holy place okay this is they’re in the outer court right now and this is the entrance to the holy place before they went to the holy place they had to put on the priestly garments okay the white garments if it was the high priest the high priest had to wear certain uh. Um the urum and the thumb and whatever it was called okay all different pants and shirts and all that. Those are the different coverings and this is the first room the holy place.

▶ 28:27 One of the first things you’ll see on the left there is the candlestick and the candlestick has how many seven seven lamps and the seven lamps were burning continuously all the time the people were responsible to make sure that olive oil was in there or all whatever the oil burning oil to keep those lamps burning all the time. And this is the table of showbread there were 12 uh pieces of bread. And then you have the altar of incense where they would burn incense and incense goes up and that’s the altered incense so that’s the holy place you got three things a candlestick alter incense and the table of showbread. And then you have the veil did you see this curtain here this is the veil that separates the holy place from the holy of holies the holy of holies or it’s called something else as well.

▶ 29:32 Look so now we’re in the holy of holies and the holy of holies is what’s this called does anybody know anybody know what this is called I mean I know you guys know this is the ark of the covenant okay. Now they’re about to lift the lid off the lid is called the mercy seat okay. I’m gonna lift it up and inside you have two tablets of stone which were the tablets Moses brought down from the mountain that had God’s commandments on it you have Aaron’s rod here that budded all right it had life even though it wasn’t in the ground even though it had no water source no nutrients life came out of that staff and then you have the pot of manna now a lot of you know this already but this is a good review for you you have the pot of mana over here and the pot of manna normally if you ate some of it and left some out the next day it would spoil breed worms but inside the ark of the covenant it wouldn’t spoil okay it stayed fresh.

▶ 30:57 And very importantly something they don’t show here is what was happening on top of this thing. The glory of God came in a cloud and rested on top of the ark of the covenant the glory of God came in a cloud by day and at night it was a pillar of fire. Very very powerful. And so you got all these things you know why don’t we why don’t we pitch a tent around here and how come we don’t have this why don’t we have the candlestick why don’t we have the altar of incense why aren’t we doing this why are we why aren’t we setting it up over there in the field you know why doesn’t every church have a tabernacle like this there’s a reason.

▶ 31:50 Let me get rid of this here so you have a visual picture right. Foreign. For these young people so here’s a picture here you start with the door the brazen altar where the sacrifices were done the laver where they would wash themselves and also the inward parts and I’m sure more uh the all of the uh. Furnishings and such. You have the table of showbread candlestick the altar of incense and in the holy of holies you have the ark of the covenant and that’s what it looks like from a bird’s eye view okay. And make sure I’m not forgetting everything the veil I mentioned the veil correct so we’re good great.

Why was the tabernacle made?

▶ Watch this part (32:44)

Short answer: As a copy and shadow of heavenly things, pointing to the real thing.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 32:44 So in Hebrews chapter 8 verse 5. The writer specifically just says it right here in plain english the tabernacle Moses’s tabernacle served as the copy and shadow. Of heavenly things. As Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle so if you look here I got a shadow right. If you follow the shadow a man but a pressure or a shadow is just a representation of the real thing it is not the real thing so God makes these shadows. Or earthly things to. Point us to what the heavenly thing the real thing.

▶ 33:42 For he said see that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain according to the shadow so in the New Testament he helps us understand why these things were made they are pointing us to the real thing so we want to look at some of these uh one example Jesus in John chapter 3 verse 12. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things so Jesus here is reminding the people you know I’m. Jesus used parables right he used parables to help explain the heavenly things as Moses was lifted up in this lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so the son of man be lifted up that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life uh if you remember there was a venomous serpents came and would bite and if they looked at the serpent that on the pole made of some metal they would be healed remember that story and Jesus Christ is the same way if you look Jesus Christ was lifted up on the cross whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life we can get uh healing so that is an example of a shadow in the Old Testament pointing to the real thing and the real thing is who Jesus Christ amen.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Hebrews 8:5 (NKJV)

who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

— Hebrews 8:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 32:44 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What do the door and altar point to?

▶ Watch this part (35:10)

Short answer: Jesus is the door; Christ our Passover was sacrificed once for all.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 35:10 So for our young people. It’s important for you to know what these things are okay and I don’t have the picture up here of all the things but we’re going to go through them the heavenly things of the tabernacle Jesus says in John chapter 10 verse 7 most assuredly I say to you I am the door he says in verse 9 I am the door if anyone enters by me he will be what saved and we’ll go in and out and find pasture. First Corinthians 5:7 7. So we know from these scriptures Jesus Christ is identifying himself as the door he is the heavenly thing the door points the door is a shadow that points to Jesus Christ Jesus also says I am the way the truth and the life none come to the father but by me I am the door.

▶ 36:12 Next is the brazen altar in first Corinthians chapter 5 verse 7 indeed Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us very plain and simple see back in the Old Testament in Moses’s day he was given rules on sacrifices right he was given laws about sacrificing for this and they had offerings for that and they had to burn it unto God but it says here in first Corinthians 5 Christ was sacrificed for us in Hebrews chapter 10 verse 4 he explains even more and says it is not possible that the blood of goats and bulls could take away sins they are a shadow that points to the real thing the real thing is Jesus Christ who gave his life for us Hebrews chapter 10 and verse 8 sacrifice and offering burn offerings and offering for sin you did not desire nor had pleasure in in them.

▶ 37:15 Um I’m remembering or there’s a scripture in the Bible it says that God it pleased God to bruise his son Jesus you remember that and that you know God wasn’t pleased with burnt offerings and all of these cows and you know it’s a sweet aroma sure but it’s all pointing to the son of God Jesus Christ and his death his bruising for the the the sin of the world. And he says plainly in her in verse 9 and Hebrews chapter 10 verse 9 or verse 10. Behold I have come to do your will o God this is Jesus talking by that will Jesus’s will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once.

John 10:7-9 (NKJV)

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

— Isaiah 53:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 37:15

What does the laver point to?

▶ Watch this part (38:10)

Short answer: Water baptism—born of water and the Spirit; it really changes people.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 38:10 For all. Jesus did it one time and it’s for all of our sin his sacrifice for us was for all of our sin so plainly in these scriptures we understand that Jesus Christ took the place of that brazen altar he is the heavenly thing amen. The laver John chapter 3 verse 5. Most assuredly I say unto you unless one is born of water and the spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God it is important for us to be water baptized Peter said to them repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins I also want to remind you that when they wash the inward parts that was an example that God comes and he washes us inside when we get water baptized that washing is of the inner man and when I have talked to people that are you know when I got bought or baptized I was 12 years old okay and there’s not a lot going on at 12.

▶ 39:19 Not a lot of uh you know I didn’t have time yet to go into bad bad stuff but people that were in bad bad stuff and were changing when they got water baptized they were there you know they couldn’t cross the line like they used to anymore. When they got water baptized something happened in their mind where they had to decide am I going to really commit to Christ or am I going to reject it and I’ve heard it from their own mouth when I got water baptized something changed and that’s what God does he comes inside the inner man and he changes and cleanses that mind and one and is looking for you to commit to him. Very powerful very powerful uh his work that he does in people is excellent but we need to get water baptized and that labor is a shadow of water baptism.

▶ 40:17 And water baptism is not just an example. Water baptism is a real thing that God does something real when you do it. It is not just you identifying with his death his burial right when you die when Jesus died he went into the ground that’s why we go under the water and we come back out as identifying with his resurrection it’s not just identifying with that God comes in your heart and he does something real in you. The priestly garments in Luke chapter 24 verse 49 behold I send the promise of my father upon you but terry in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high and so we’re reminded here first of all that God Jesus is talking and he’s saying the promise of my father it is a promise for God’s people to receive the Holy Spirit to get the Holy Spirit in us.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 3:5 (NKJV)

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

— John 3:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 38:10 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What does the Spirit add?

▶ Watch this part (41:25)

Short answer: Tarry until clothed with power; the seven spirits give wisdom, understanding, counsel and might.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 41:25 It is for us. Go and tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you be clothed with power you know we got to do some seeking we’ve got to do some waiting on God you want the power of God in you you got to do something if you remember Peter Peter was water baptized Peter he uh was committed to Christ but until Peter had experienced the and was filled with Holy Spirit that Holy Spirit came and did such a powerful work in him and started to change him mightily. Before that he was denying Christ he was sinning and that you know he was growing you know when he uh when he jumped out of that water. Jumped out of that boat into the water to swim to Jesus Christ and sat at Jesus with Jesus and said Jesus said you love me he said yes I love you.

▶ 42:25 That was God changing him he was committing to him the spirit breathed on him in the room Jesus breathed on him and filled these guys with his spirit the spirit did a mighty work in these men and the spirit will do a mighty work in you but we’ve got to get it we’ve got to stop fighting about it how to stop pushing it aside it is important it is necessary. So. It’s not a special garment it’s not a special thread or some beautiful apparel that you need to wear yes it’s good to look nice and modest and dress your best for Christ but that is not the Holy Spirit. It’s about the Holy Spirit coming and giving you power the the shadow is pointing to the real thing and we want the real thing now this is Holy Spirit.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 24:49 (NKJV)

Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

Isaiah 11:2 (NKJV)

The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

— Isaiah 11:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 43:22

Who can enter the holy place now?

▶ Watch this part (43:23)

Short answer: We are kings and priests; the veil was torn.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 43:23 Now if you wreck if you remember in the scriptures only the priests could go in to the holy place only the high priest could go into the holy of holies in Revelations chapter 1 verse 5 the scriptures say he has made us kings and what priests. To God the father to him be glory and dominion forever first Peter 2:9 says you are a chosen generation a royal what priesthood so we yes we us Gentiles. Us outcasts. Whoever we are we can go in and we are a priesthood we are changed by his marvelous light Jesus Christ has made us priests.

▶ 44:17 And we can go in to all these to the to the tabernacle of God when Jesus died on the cross one of the big things that happened the earth shook the rock split and what else happened what happened in the temple the veil was torn from top to bottom. We have become priests. God says in the new covenant that we can know him for ourselves and I’ll explain that more later Revelations chapter 4 verse 5. There are seven lamps burning continuously all the time. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne which are the seven spirits of God. Isaiah chapter 11 verse 2 says the spirit of the Lord the spirit of wisdom understanding counsel might knowledge and the fear of the Lord these are the seven spirits of God and this is important when you say you get filled with the Holy Spirit it’s not just one thing it’s not just one expression the Holy Spirit has many things going on with it.

▶ 45:32 Okay if you just say oh I’m just. If you’re stuck on it being tongues no there’s more to the spirit of God than just tongues there’s wisdom. From the spirit of God there’s understanding when you go to the scriptures and you got God’s spirit in you you can pray ask God lords let your spirit help me understand. And his spirit will come and help you understand. I would even go as far as to say that God can help you understand in your natural life. At your job at your school you know I prayed and asked God that he would give me the mind of Christ that I could learn the things I needed and filter out the junk that was being taught me. At work on the job I you know you have to learn complex things and over time just doing it yes but also God can help you understand and he helped me understand.

▶ 46:38 Council. Giving you counsel. You give God spirit time he will give you counsel and handle how to handle situations or just the day-to-day I can remember many times at the end of the day I would hear a voice saying michael you need to change that. You need to you know this isn’t going to work tomorrow. And you go okay yes uh please forgive me for my sin God help me I need to change that I want to change that right that spirit that conscience coming to you it’s a spirit of counsel. And sometimes the spirit of counsel will shake you and say hey. Get up you’ve got to address that.

▶ 47:32 Uh doesn’t happen often but God gives us counsel strength God will give us strength and might to do the things that we need to do in our lives in our natural lives and in the church and the spirit they’ll give you the strength and equip you my goodness yes now that. I I think about this yes God has given me strength and God has given us strength to do what we need to do in the house of God knowledge and the fear of the Lord there is more to God’s spirit than just maybe the view that you have of God’s spirit and when you say you’ve accepted God’s spirit when you say that you are spirit-filled are you letting all of these areas affect. Your life. Affect your spiritual life affect your natural life are you getting all of these seven spirits working in you and if not you need to ask God to come and do these uh work in these different ways because they are available for us they’re available to us.

What does the altar of incense picture?

▶ Watch this part (48:50)

Short answer: Our prayers rising before God—pray for character, not just hockey goals—and praise.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 48:50 The altar of incense in Psalms 141 verse 2 let my prayer be set before you as incense the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice Revelation chapter 8:4 the smoke of the incense which came from with the prayers of the saints ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand our prayers. Are like incense see the incense is not you know we don’t come in and start burning incense so we go oh smell that smell oh man it smells so good here glory to God no. It’s an example the prayers go up to God and he hears them they don’t fall flat on the floor. God hears our prayers of course some of them he says what are you asking for that for.

▶ 49:44 I remember a kid in class he was sick I I pray for God to help me make a make a hockey goal. A goal in hockey when he you know come on and the things that we pray for right uh we want to be praying that God will change our character we want her to be praying that God will do what those seven spirits do give us understanding give us knowledge give us counsel for what we need we need it we got to be praying for the right things and we can learn what those are when we pray the Psalms and Proverbs. And also here it says the lifting up of my hands is the evening sacrifice so here he mentions uh. One of these acts of worship so it’s not just prayer it’s also praising God praising God. That goes up to God so this morning when we took time to worship God that goes up like incense before God.

What does the table picture?

▶ Watch this part (50:45)

Short answer: Fellowship—koinonia—like soldiers who become brothers.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 50:45 And praise is also a principle that God comes and uh fights for you so it’s very important so we understand here that these things are not. Things that we do in this room it’s stuff that points to the real thing and today the real thing if we’re not exercising prayer and praise if we’re not actually getting God’s spirit if we’re not getting water baptized if we’re not going to Jesus the sacrifice for our sins you are not following the pattern. And we’ve got to follow the pattern acts chapter 2 verse 42. They continue steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship the word there is koinonia in the breaking of bread and in prayers if you think about men on the battlefield something happens when pete when men fight together when they go out in a deployment and they fight for uh uh each other and they defend each other and they they are reaching a goal something happens to those men.

▶ 51:57 They become brothers they will do anything for them they will fight alongside this person that they may not even agree with. They are different completely but they’ll begin to fight and and work hard for their brother and when they come back from that deployment oh they’ll you know they’ll say oh nobody understands but he does my brother does. And they’ll do things and help each other uh. Because they’re brothers. And that’s what we got to have in the church. We come in from different places where different people we got different things going on in our lives we’ve got a different culture but when we come into God’s house we treat each other like brother and like sister will fight for each other stand up for one another care for one another when we’re wounded like on the battlefield somebody’s wounded those soldiers will go out lift them up pick them up pull them get them back put together again.

What does the ark picture?

▶ Watch this part (53:09)

Short answer: Us—overlaid with gold, God’s law hidden in our hearts, His mercy and Aaron’s rod of life.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 53:09 That’s the kind of love we’re talking about in the church. The fellowship koinonia. And then we go into the holy of holies. Inside the ark of the covenant. So the holy of holies is where the ark and the covenant was. And inside the ark were the ten commandments or the tablets of stone Aaron’s rod that butted and the manna. Now before we go on what you want to understand here is the ark of the covenant is. Us. We are the ark. We don’t build a piece of wood and overlay it with gold and say everybody we gotta we gotta get some gold we got to spend millions of dollars on this thing no God is saying you are valuable to me.

▶ 54:07 When God looks at you he sees that you’re overlaid with gold you are precious to him. You’re so valuable to him. Bible says I dwell not in temples made with hands Bible says that we are what the temple of the Holy Spirit and that he dwells where in us. So we are that ark. That ark of the covenant is a shadow that points to who you. You. Hebrews chapter 8 verse 10. Now it makes sense why are the tablets of stone in there he says it I will put my laws in your mind and write them in your heart.

▶ 55:00 Your word have I hidden in my heart you know you look at the ark it’s it’s closed it’s shut right but inside are the tablets of stone. Hit it goes right along with the scriptures thy word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Thank you. Are we following the pattern are we following the pattern are we putting God’s law and allowing him to put his law in our minds and in our hearts you see we’ve got to follow this pattern if you are rejecting God’s word are you rejecting his commandments you’re not following the pattern. All shall know me from the least to the greatest. In the tabernacle only the high priest was allowed but as I said before that veil was torn from top to bottom and now all of us if we want to know God we can go in and we can experience the glory of God we can become that ark and be that dwelling place for the glory of God to come and rest on us.

▶ 56:18 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more remember that lid what would what was it called the mercy seat. Goes right along with. Hebrews chapter the new covenant I will be merciful to their unrighteousness yes you’re going to make mistakes yes you’re going to mess up yes you’re going to do wrong. But Christ is saying I’ve covered you with mercy. But that does not mean that you throw God’s word out. What God is he’s given you the whole package he’s given you answers for your life he’s saying I’ll put my law my word in you it’s going to be inside you it’s going to be reminding you if you want to reject it and throw it out you’re not following the pattern.

▶ 57:15 When we make a mistake it’s not oh well that’s okay because no. It’s yeah I did what was wrong there and I’m okay I have God’s mercy on me he’s going to forgive me and I’m going to keep moving on in God’s word amen. That’s the whole package. God will forgive we go back to the his commandment his word and we keep moving on we get God’s glory to come back amen. When the manna is in you it will not spoil it will never return void the Bible says that Jesus or Jesus also said that he is the bread of life so we put Jesus Christ in us we put God’s word in us it will not return void it will not spoil.

▶ 58:14 And of course Aaron’s rod that budded again like I said it had no connection with nutrients in the ground it had no water in it yet it brought forth life. And we can have that life the New Testament in the New Testament Peter Paul these men who were in prison who were in jail if you remember the story of Paul and Silas in the prison what did they start to do they started singing. Hymns. Late at night why because they had the life of Christ in them. They weren’t shaking in their shoes they were giving glory to God for whatever reason. They had life even though they shouldn’t have had life.

What did God promise at the ark?

▶ Watch this part (59:14)

Short answer: I will meet with you there; when we cast aside His pattern we make a high place.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 59:14 And that’s that example of Aaron’s rod they weren’t connected to some you know everything wasn’t perfect in their life things weren’t going well but they still had life and that’s what Jesus is offering to his people we can still have life. In Exodus chapter 25 verse 22 it says I will meet with you there I will meet with you I will speak with you and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tabernacle of meaning so it’s important that we follow this pattern when we follow this tabernacle pattern we can meet with God. We can speak with God. As you learn these things and follow these things and let God put his word in you and get God’s life in you.

▶ 1:00:13 We can speak with and meet with our God. And when we cast aside his pattern we have made it a high place. When we want to do things the way we want to do them. We are throwing God’s pattern out and that is not going to work we’ve got to get back to God’s pattern. In acts chapter 2 verse 42. We have an example of what they used to do what happened right after the spirit came and filled them. When it came like a mighty wind says they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine so they kept following God’s word they had God’s word in their heart and their mind and fellowship just like that table of showbread and breaking up bread in prayers just like the altar of incense then fear came upon every soul how many guys how many of us want fear to come on every soul not just our own souls but we want fear of God to come on those unbelievers and unlearn and whatever stage they are at whatever they believe in we want the fear of God to come.

▶ 1:01:32 We gotta stick with the pattern. Many wonders and signs were done for the apostles we’ve got to stick with the pattern. Goes on to say they divided among them all as anyone had need they took care of one another do we have that kind of care and love for one another. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple breaking bread from house to house they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart praising God having favor with all the people. And so we see the pattern here being done in the New Testament church and we have to keep following that pattern.

And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.

Scripture (NKJV)

Acts 2:42-46 (NKJV)

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

What questions close the message?

▶ Watch this part (1:02:27)

Short answer: Are we coming through the door, baptized, filled, praying and carrying His law—or making a high place?

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 1:02:27 Are we coming to Christ Jesus the door the sacrifice are we getting his water baptism. Are we receiving the Holy Spirit are we waiting on and letting the spirit come in us. Are we offering up prayers and praise as incense or do we just come in to hear cool songs or do we just come in and play around and sit on our behind and do nothing. God is asking us this morning are we following the pattern. Do we associate with the world or do we associate are we uh. Taken care of and do we love God’s people the fellowship that table of show bread who are we associating with.

▶ 1:03:25 Now we got to reach the world but they’re not our brothers and sisters. We’re not we’re not fighting for their way of life we want to fight for the kingdom and with our brothers and sisters for truth. Amen. Are we his ark of the covenant having God’s law in us his life in us his bread of life like he says. Are we in unity in one accord us power heads this morning. Right now we just want to submit ourselves to his way his pattern.

▶ 1:04:18 His method not our own method. We want to submit ourselves to him we don’t want to make come up with our own opinions where it becomes a high place we want to stick with the pattern that Jesus has shown from the beginning. So this morning if you want to commit and just say Lord God I want to follow your pattern. If you want to commit and say Lord Jesus I want to do all of the things you’ve instructed us to do from Moses’s time would you just please stand with me as we take this time to pray this morning to invite God. To allow him to come to us. God has a goal he wants us to come to a place where we are that ark where he is speaking to us where he is resting with his holy his presence on us the glory of God coming on us but we’ve got to follow the pattern to get to that place.
