What is prayed before the message?
Short answer: Thanksgiving for what God has given, including His Spirit, and a blessing on the word.
▶ 20:08 Lord Jesus we come before you this morning God and we thank you Lord Jesus like this season talks about giving thanksgiving to our God Lord Jesus we thank you for what we have we thank you for what you’ve given us Jesus. Lord God you gave us your spirit you sent your spirit after you died and rose from the grave Jesus. Lord to close us with power to give us power to handle this life for God to overcome. Jesus we thank you for your death and your resurrection Jesus we thank you for your power your spirit upon your people Jesus Lord we ask in your name this morning that people in church in this room and all over the church of the world God Lord that we would obtain that spirit God that we would be clothed in power Jesus to live for you God we thank you this morning we ask you bless this time of the.
What is Purim?
Short answer: The festival from Esther 9:19; Jews note God is not mentioned in Esther.
▶ 21:09 Word we ask you bless the word and God Lord speak to us this morning Jesus we thank you. You may find your seeds this morning. So we just went through we just had thanksgiving a time of thanksgiving amen did everybody have a good thanksgiving yes excellent there is a festival. Uh in march in Israel they go on the streets they have wonderful uh time celebrating. And uh this is a scripture taken out of the Bible I’m wondering if anybody knows what’s what it is the Jews of the villages celebrated the 14th day of the month with gladness and feasting as a holiday. And for sending presents to one another.
▶ 22:01 Anybody know what that’s talking about. It’s called Purim. In Esther chapter 9 verse 19. And when you hear them explain what Purim is because I’ve listened to a few people explain it and they were Jews in in Israel today and they’re very uh one of the things that they say is that God is not mentioned in the story or his name is not used and God is not mentioned and that’s how they interpret you know they say God is not mentioned in this story but when you read Esther and you ask God to open it up to you it’s all about Christ it’s all about the spirit it’s all about the church and God is all throughout the story and it’s a very important story very powerful story. Amen and many of you know its meaning it started and I’m going to quickly touch on some things and you have a sheet there and if you need a pen I have some pens here.
Scripture in this part
Esther 9:19 (NKJV)
Therefore the Jews of the villages who dwelt in the unwalled towns celebrated the fourteenth day of the month of Adar with gladness and feasting, as a holiday, and for sending presents to one another.
— Esther 9:19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:01 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What did Haman accuse the Jews of?
Short answer: Of having different laws and not keeping the king’s laws.
▶ 23:04 Esther chapter 3 verse 8 Haman said there is a certain people scattered their laws are different from all the other peoples and they do not keep the king’s laws they’re up here mr Thompson on the chair. They do not keep the king’s laws. Therefore it is not fitting for the king to let them remain. This is Haman talking and he’s talking to the king if it pleases the king let a decree be written that they be destroyed so Haman wants his solution is to have every one of these people destroyed let a decree be written that they be destroyed and the king said to Haman the money and the people are given to you do with them as seems good to you.
Scripture in this part
Esther 3:8 (NKJV)
Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; their laws are different from all other people’s, and they do not keep the king’s laws. Therefore it is not fitting for the king to let them remain.
— Esther 3:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 23:04 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why was Israel handed over?
Short answer: The Lord testified by every prophet to turn and keep His commandments; they made calves, served Baal, practiced witchcraft.
▶ 24:08 And when we look at Israel the nation of Israel and the people of Israel God’s special people that he chose and second Kings verse 17 the Lord testified against Israel and against Judah by all of his prophets every seer saying turn from your evil ways and keep my commandments and statutes. So he sent his prophets to warn his people in Israel to turn from their evil ways but they would not hear they stiffen their necks like the necks of their fathers and would not believe in the Lord their God. They followed isles they became idolaters and they went after the uh the nations who were all around them. Some of the prophets were Elijah Jeremiah Isaiah michaela.
▶ 25:01 Ezekiel Zechariah Obadiah they they they chase these guys if you remember the stories about Elijah Ahab went he was searching for Elijah Jezebel had sent out the military to go looking for Elijah they wanted to take them out they wanted to get rid of these men. Micaiah I can’t know I don’t know how to say his name but he was there he was invited by jehoshaphat and by Ahab to come in and prophesy about going to battle and we know that he came and said oh yeah go to battle God is with you and then Ahab said tell me the truth. And so he’s told him the truth but they didn’t listen Ahab didn’t listen. And this happened many.
▶ 25:54 Times so they left all the commandments of the Lord their God made for themselves a molded image and two calves made a wooden image and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal so they left all the commandments of God. They. They made calves they made idols and they served Baal which is not God not our God. They caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire they practiced witchcraft and suits saying and sold themselves to do evilness I Lord now I’m bringing this up because I’m showing you how bad Israel got to they were. Going along with passing their kids to the fire and that’s horrible it’s kind of like today how we allow all the abortion up I mean up to nine weeks and even when they’re on out of the out of the womb we allow abortions of these babies it’s uh it’s not right.
▶ 26:54 Practice witchcraft and soothsaying you see we we look at that and we say witchcraft oh that’s bad uh but you know we’re not far from that and and we allow witchcraft and we all I mean America is so. We give we’re involved in all this stuff. Sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from his sight so I’m bringing this up because this correlates directly with the story of Esther you say to yourself how could in this story the king and if you know who the king is in the Bible you know who the king is right king is Jesus how could he give his people over to Haman who was the Devil see the Devil is accusing he’s accusing the church right now he’s accusing people he’s accusing God’s people he’s saying they they’re horrible they’re giving in all this stuff and Jesus is saying I can’t argue with you you know that’s a big problem the Devil’s always up there and he’s attacking us.
Scripture in this part
2 Kings 17:13 (NKJV)
Yet the LORD testified against Israel and against Judah, by all of His prophets, every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by My servants the prophets.”
— 2 Kings 17:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:08 (quoted; reference not named in the message)2 Kings 17:16-17 (NKJV)
So they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, made for themselves a molded image and two calves, made a wooden image and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. And they caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and soothsaying, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.
— 2 Kings 17:16-17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:54 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How is Satan like Haman?
Short answer: He accuses us before God, and God said, do with them as seems good—as with Peter, Satan asked to sift him.
▶ 28:04 You understand that he’s accusing us he’s standing before God he’s saying did you see what michael did. Did you see what papadua did did you see what they did in the American church did you see. And in this case. The king said okay do with them it seems good to you. And the same in this in second Kings here Israel the Lord was angry and remove them from recite God passed judgment on them. Luke 5 verse 3 when Peter saw it he fell down at Jesus knees saying depart from me for I am a sinful man now that was the right response and that is the right response that we need to have you don’t come to God and start approving of all your stuff and say oh God you know you know I got this stuff just you know give me fire insurance save me thank you I save we have our votes verses that we quote and stuff but we won’t come to God humbly like Peter did and say God we’re sinful he came the right way but what I’m pointing out here is that they’re in in Peter’s day their sin in our day we have sin and God’s.
▶ 29:22 Response later on in Luke was Peter Satan has asked for you that he may sift you as wheat so that confirms Satan is trying he’s after you. I mean. But remember he doesn’t have any power. He doesn’t have any power God has given us power to tread upon scorpions and serpents and all over all the power of the enemy and that goes directly I forgot to include that at the end of this but it correct directly corresponds with the power God has given us. You know yes. Satan has been given power to. Come after us but we also have weapons of our war God’s warfare we use God’s weapons and the Devil has no chance against that he has no chance against that.
Scripture in this part
Luke 22:31 (NKJV)
And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
— Luke 22:31 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 29:22 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
— Luke 10:19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 29:22 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why was approaching the king dangerous?
Short answer: Neglect praise, prayer, fasting and the word and you’ll be in a tough spot; anyone entering the inner court uncalled could die, yet Mordecai urged Esther to go.
▶ 30:23 So if you neglect. What God has given you to use. Like praise and prayer and fasting and his word you’re going to be in a tough spot. Because Satan is coming after you. Esther chapter 4 verse 11 all the king’s servants going back to Esther now all the king’s servants the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes in the inner court to the king who has not been called has but one law. That they’re put to death now I’m I’m skipping a lot of the story here but as you know. The law went out and everybody heard about it including Mordecai and s that’s Esther’s cousin.
▶ 31:16 Who raised her and uh Esther is already queen at this point and uh Mordecai is trying to influence Esther saying influence her saying go to the king you need to talk to him about this you need to ask him about this you need to say hey we we need to save our people here. And so that conversation has already happened and her response is you don’t understand if I go to the court the inner court of the king. There’s one there’s one law that I’ll be put to death. John 6:43 in the New Testament says no one comes to me unless the father who sent me draws him see Jesus God is the one who draws you in you can’t come to Jesus any other way you can only come his way.
Scripture in this part
Esther 4:11 (NKJV)
“All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days.”
— Esther 4:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 30:23 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does God now command?
Short answer: All men everywhere to repent; He has drawn many who come and go every Sunday.
▶ 32:16 Acts 17 verse 30 truly these times of ignorance oh God overlooked but now come on commands all men everywhere to repent now you got to remember back in the Old Testament they the high priest was the only one allowed in the holy of holies the high priest was only the the priests were only allowed in the holy place you know only certain people could get into that place but because of what Jesus has done on the cross and Jesus dying on the cross he tore the veil allowing us to come in amen. And Acts 17 explains it very clearly he these times of ignorance God overlooked but not anymore he now commands all men everywhere to repent and you see this is the drawing God has spoken his word to us and we have a responsibility to respond to that.
Scripture in this part
Acts 17:30 (NKJV)
Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
— Acts 17:30 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 32:16 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What must die?
Short answer: Our members on the earth, the old man—God is not out to kill you but your sin.
▶ 33:11 And many people in America people in this church have come who have come and come and come in and gone out every Sunday you have heard God’s drawing. It’s a simple thing it’s not complicated. Colossians 3 verse 5 therefore put to death your members which are on the earth so God is asking. You know. Us to put to death. Our sinful our charac our sinful character. Esther chapter 4 verse 11. I myself have not been called to go into the king these 30 days so she was afraid she didn’t want to go in and this is a good example of us this is a good example of people that have been saved people that have accepted Christ or not accepted Christ you have to come to a place where you say you are willing to come to me that you may have life this is Jesus talking in John verse chapter 5 verse 40.
▶ 34:17 You’re not willing to come to me that you may have life and then you’re saying well yeah you’re going to kill me. But God is saying there I’m I want to put to death your man of sin your old man I’m not out to kill you I’m not out to hurt you but I want to take your sin and that sinful part of you and I want to nail it to the cross and get rid of it I want to cleanse you yes and this is the condemnation John chapter 3 verse 20 men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil for everyone practicing evil hates the light does not come to the light lets his deeds be exposed. And so Esther is in a spot and it’s good that they they share all this thought process that she’s going through right because she’s making a decision.
Scripture in this part
Colossians 3:5 (NKJV)
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
— Colossians 3:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 33:11 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is the goal?
Short answer: A church sanctified and cleansed, glorious, without spot or wrinkle.
▶ 35:18 To respond to come to the king. And we have to make that decision to come to the king to allow him to transform us and that involves killing the old man right. Amen. And Ephesians chapter 5 really explains the whole thing that he might sanctify and cleanse her he’s talking about the bride that is the church with the washing of water by the word that is the word of God that he might present her to himself a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing that she would be holy and without balance so that is the goal God has a goal for his church and the goal is not to stay in.
Scripture in this part
Ephesians 5:26-27 (NKJV)
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
— Ephesians 5:26-27 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 35:18 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What did Esther do on the third day?
Short answer: She put on royal robes and stood in the inner court, and found favor.
▶ 36:14 A place of sin the goal is to come to and become a holy people a glorious church without spot or wrinkle amen. So it it goes on in Esther chapter five it happened on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes or the royal. And stood in the inner court of the king’s palace and so it was when the king saw Esther she found favor in his sight and what I want to point out here is that the royal robes were given to her by the king she did not put on her own garments that she wanted to wear she didn’t wear drab ugly clothing she put on what the king wanted her to wear the royal robes amen and you see that is us the church Christians we have to decide are we going to put on his nature his character his blood that covers us amen we have a choice.
Scripture in this part
Esther 5:1-2 (NKJV)
Now it happened on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace, across from the king’s house, while the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, facing the entrance of the house. So it was, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight, and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter.
— Esther 5:1-2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 36:14 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How do we come to our King?
Short answer: Boldly to the throne of grace for mercy and help; Jesus is the star out of Jacob and the way.
▶ 37:29 And we need to identify with our king that is Jesus Christ. Hebrews chapter 4 verse 16 let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of mean so Esther was looking for favor she was looking for. Grace. And that is why we come boldly to the throne of grace we come boldly looking for God’s favor not only favor the word also means divine influence the word grace also means divine influence and that is important because you need that divine influence to influence you to do what he wants you to do amen. The king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand and Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter.
▶ 38:36 In numbers chapter 24 verse 17 a star shall come out of Jacob a scepter shall rise out of Israel and it’s speaking of Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ is that one who has saved us from sin he is the one who has made a way for us to come to the father he says I am the way I am the truth I am the life and no one comes to the father but by me. The scepter. And you see we stand and we want to approach the king and the king he lifts his scepter that is Christ you know Jesus lifting himself it’s kind of like well. He lifts up what he did on the cross for you to make a way for you to come to him come to me that you may have life.
Scripture in this part
Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
— Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 37:29 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Numbers 24:17 (NKJV)
“I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, And batter the brow of Moab, And destroy all the sons of tumult.
— Numbers 24:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 38:36 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 14:6 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
— John 14:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 38:36 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What question should we ask?
Short answer: “If it pleases the king”—does this please Jesus? Learn how to walk and please God.
▶ 39:36 Esther chapter 8 go the story goes on and I am skipping in the story but I’m trying to focus on a particular part of this story if it pleases the king wow what a question do we ask that question. Does America ask that question do the church ask this question if it pleases the king if it pleases Jesus Christ I if you woke up every day and started with that question it would change you it would change your outlook is this pleasing to God to get my kids up out of bed get them to brush their teeth yeah it is pleasing to God. Is it pleasing to God to go to work and have a smile on my face yeah it’s pleasing to God the Bible says whatever you do do wholeheartedly as unto the Lord amen.
▶ 40:30 If it is pleasing if it pleases the king if I have found favor in his sight and this thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman so here we go you see God has unleashed Satan but he’s got so much power on the other side to combat it and we know that in the New Testament but this story is giving the whole picture of all that right. But I encourage you the Bible is very consistent throughout the scriptures if you accept if you’ve accepted Jesus into your heart our focus should be how can we please God when Jesus came to the earth and he was being baptized heaven opened up and God said this is my beloved son in whom I’m well pleased are we pleasing do we have a goal to please God that’s so important.
▶ 41:35 And New Testament backs that up just as you’ve received us from us how you ought to walk and to please God so important because that message is not that that message doesn’t come through today. The message to please God does not come through right now people are asking how can I please myself God needs to accept me where I’m at yes that is true to a point but you also. Need to ask the question. How can I please God. What can I change today that would be pleasing to God and if you mess up every day get up and still ask that same question amen that is a big difference that is a big difference that’s a different outlook. Esther chapter 8 verse 9.
Scripture in this part
Esther 8:5 (NKJV)
and said, “If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight and the thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to annihilate the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces.
— Esther 8:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 39:36 (quoted; reference not named in the message)1 Thessalonians 4:1 (NKJV)
Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;
— 1 Thessalonians 4:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 41:35 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How does Esther correlate with Pentecost?
Short answer: Letters went to 127 provinces in their languages; at Pentecost Jews from every nation heard in their own tongue.
▶ 42:33 The king’s scribes wrote according to all that Mordecai commanded to 127 provinces. So if we look back here she says let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman and so the king responds and he says okay Esther you and Mordecai. Come up with something come up with. Some commandments so. In this next scripture here it says according to all that Mordecai. Commanded. To 127 provinces to every people in their own language and this is so important. In acts chapter 2 verse 2. When the day of Pentecost had fully come you know I’m skipping from the Old Testament to the New Testament you guys see that.
▶ 43:32 When the day of Pentecost had fully come they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews from every nation 127. Provinces right and I’m showing here how the story of Esther correlates with what what God did with the Holy Spirit what God did when he was on the earth what God did. I want to stop and remind you that the Old Testament God used historical events people to foretell of what he was going to do when he came and that’s exactly what is happening here Mordecai is an example of the Holy Spirit you see how it says he wrote to every people in their own language.
▶ 44:25 On the day of Pentecost God came with the sound the multitude came together. I’m sorry the people and when this sound occurred the multitude came together and were confused because everyone. Heard them speaking in his own language on the day of Pentecost God filled with people with the Holy Spirit they had they started speaking in tongues and in different languages. The mighty wonderful works of God so there were people there from all different countries and they heard this they heard them speaking. In their language. And so you see how these stories correlate Mordecai. Is sending out commands to every people in their own language and God did the same thing with the Holy Spirit speaking the mighty wonderful works of God so I’m it’s so important.
▶ 45:28 In the whole in the Old Testament and in the New Testament that we receive the Holy Spirit that we hear what God is saying and speak it out. You know if it’s in english it’s in english if it’s in another tongue it’s in another tongue but we’re speaking the wonderful mighty works of God and that’s the important thing God is clothing with you with power to share that message the wonderful mighty works of God and you know I’m hearing that too I need to speak the wonderful works of God when I’m with people when I’m here when I’m working you know I I can open my mouth we gotta open our mouths. Esther chapter eight goes on to say Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel he had royal apparel now with a great crown of gold and a garment of the linen of fine linen and purple and the city rejoiced and was glad you see the Holy Spirit brings joy brings gladness.
Scripture in this part
Esther 8:9 (NKJV)
So the king’s scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which is the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third day; and it was written, according to all that Mordecai commanded, to the Jews, the satraps, the governors, and the princes of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, one hundred and twenty-seven provinces in all, to every province in its own script, to every people in their own language, and to the Jews in their own script and language.
— Esther 8:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 42:33 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 2:1-6 (NKJV)
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.
— Acts 2:1-6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 43:32 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What followed in both stories?
Short answer: Many became Jews as fear fell on them; in Acts 2 fear came on every soul with wonders and signs.
▶ 46:44 The Jews had light and gladness joy and honor in every province. Then many people. Many of the people of the land became Jews that means they were from another country they spoke a different language and in the days of Esther people became. Jews. They left their gods and became. Jews serving. God almighty. Because fear of the Jews fell upon them. And so we turn to acts chapter 2 verse 40. With many other words he testified and exhorted them saying be saved from this perverse generation then those who received his word were baptized and that day three thousand souls were added to them.
▶ 47:47 And it continues in verse 43 fear came upon every soul and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles so the same thing that happened in Esther the story about people becoming Jews and fear of the Jews falling on them the same thing happened in acts chapter 2. The fear of God fell on people people changed from what they were serving whatever God they were serving three thousand souls that one day in that one place turned to Jesus Christ by the power of the spirit of God. Fear come upon every soul see we see how important the spirit of God is. And we want that fear to come upon every soul the fear that is a a deep respect right now in America there is no deep care at all about the church people don’t have any they don’t care about the church they don’t have any respect for the church I mean years ago the church was something to be respected oh don’t do that in the house of God I mean years ago they would say that now they just do whatever they want in the house of God.
Scripture in this part
Esther 8:16-17 (NKJV)
The Jews had light and gladness, joy and honor. And in every province and city, wherever the king’s command and decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a holiday. Then many of the people of the land became Jews, because fear of the Jews fell upon them.
— Esther 8:16-17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 46:44 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 2:43 (NKJV)
Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
— Acts 2:43 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 47:47 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why do we need the fear of God back?
Short answer: There is no respect for God now; we want that back.
▶ 49:04 Right there’s no respect for God. You know it used to be people would say even those who didn’t believe in God would say oh don’t say that about God you know that’s not right now they say whatever they want. There’s no respect. And we want that back. God deserves that. God our God is a good God amen and if you know if that doesn’t happen in in your lifetime at least let it happen in you that you have the fear of God let it fall on you. Do you have the fear of God. The Holy Spirit is important it’s important for us to obtain it’s important for young people old people whatever age you are whatever age you are in God if you’ve accepted him recently or a long time ago the Holy Spirit in Jeremiah chapter 31 says I will put my law in your mind and write it on your heart John 14:26 the helper he’s talking specifically and this is red because Jesus spoke it when he was on the earth.
How was the Bible remembered?
Short answer: The Spirit teaches all things and brings to remembrance; He convicts as you read and guides into truth.
▶ 50:33 The Holy Spirit whom the father will send in my name he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you so people are always saying how did they write the Bible how did they do this how did they remember the story how did they do this you got to remember this scripture right here they the spirit brought it back to their remembrance. You see in our day we don’t have anybody that we’re looking to hey did you finish out the book did you finish writing what Jesus is told no the book is already written right New Testament’s already written we don’t add to it or take it away when they were doing it God through the spirit reminded them everything that he said everything that was done and that’s why you can trust in the New Testament.
▶ 51:32 And that’s why when you read the New Testament God will come and he will convict you while you read it because the spirit of God is in this book. The spirit of God is powerful. When the spirit of truth when he the spirit of truth has come he will guide you into all truth and we need some guidance amen. He will not speak on his own authority but whatever he hears he will speak and he will tell you things to come. In acts chapter 10 God came to Cornelius who was not a Jew. And Peter. Replied because God came to him. And was sent to him and all of a sudden they started being filled with the Holy Spirit and Peter here was thinking what these guys these are Gentiles they’re not Jews.
Scripture in this part
John 14:26 (NKJV)
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
— John 14:26 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 50:33 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 16:13 (NKJV)
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
— John 16:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 51:32 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Who is accepted by God?
Short answer: In every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness.
▶ 52:31 So he says the statement in truth I perceive that God shows no partiality but in every nation who fears him and works righteousness. Is accepted by him important very important. So the Holy Spirit came. If you want to know how you get the Holy Spirit we’ll start with some fear of God do you fear do you have the fear of God that leads you to depart from evil. Do you have some conviction do you have some you know when when when the sin comes in your life do you have conviction from that that’s the Holy Spirit trying to say hey stop. Do we have the fear of God. Do we. Work righteousness the Bible says he who practices righteousness is righteous just like a doctor who practices a doctor when they come out of medical school I can tell you right now they don’t know beans I remember being in the office with a doctor and I’m showing him my skin I knew exactly what it was and he’s asking me questions and that’s when I realized.
▶ 53:41 Doctors don’t know everything. He’s asking me all these questions. I’m like I said I know what it is can you just give me the medicine for it he’s like oh what is it it’s poison ivy he’s like oh. And he was a young guy you know that’s fine but you know just because he’s a doctor doesn’t mean he’s got it all figured out. You know just because you’re practicing righteousness doesn’t mean you’ve got righteousness figured out but you start practicing it. And God says that you are doing righteous things and yes your righteousness is like filthy rags but Jesus will take your filthy stinky rag and he will cleanse that filthy stinky ray.

— Acts 10:34-35 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 52:31 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is the response?
Short answer: Respond to God’s drawing, cover yourself with His blood and righteousness, and ask if it pleases the King.
▶ 54:47 So. Let’s respond this morning. Do you believe in Christ. Are you already a Christian. Have you sinned against God. I’m going to invite my worship team on up we’re going to sing that song let your living water come over my soul. Have you responded to the drawing of God and like it says in John chapter 12 that he draws us amen he draws us with his word he draws us with his spirit have you responded. Do we keep coming to God or do we reject him do we humbly wear his robes like Esther. She wore the royal robes of Christ she wore the royal robes of the king and so did Mordecai.
▶ 55:42 He was sent out and he wore those. Robes. Do we cover ourselves with the blood and with his righteousness. Do we seek to please God like Esther would ask if it pleases the king are we asking that question when we wake up in the morning and throughout the day does it please the king is this pleasing is my life and what I’m doing my goals that I’ve said is it pleasing to God. Do you have the fear of God that departs from evil. This is a great first step a good beginning. Do you have the Holy Spirit that will guide you teach you bring things through your remembrance do you have.
▶ 56:37 These things this morning. Are you responding to God.
