The Holy Spirit’s Teaching Power 12/10/2017: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer teaches from 1 Corinthians 2 and John 14 that only the Holy Spirit knows and reveals the things of God. The Spirit who was with the disciples would be in them, teaching all things and bringing Jesus’ words to remembrance. He illustrates with opened understanding, the Ethiopian eunuch, spiritual discernment beyond Hebrew and Greek, and Elisha’s servant seeing chariots of fire.
How did Paul preach?
Short answer: Not with excellence of speech or human wisdom, but knowing only Christ crucified, in demonstration of the Spirit and power, so faith would stand in the power of God.
▶ 0:00 Okay we’re gonna be dealing with the Holy Spirit’s teaching power we’re going to be teaching out of first Corinthians chapter 2 if you want to follow in your Bible if you think you’re fast enough to keep up with me all right remember last week Paul said I didn’t come to you Corinthians with excellence of speech I didn’t go to the toastmasters convention I didn’t go to university to learn how to speak. Or I didn’t come to you with human wisdom I didn’t come to you with human intellect natural physical science I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified alleluia that’s the gospel my speech my preaching my teaching was not with enticing persuasive words of man’s wisdom we can’t persuade people enough to get them to believe in God.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (NKJV)
And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
— 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:06How does God reveal his things?
Short answer: First Corinthians 2:10: through his Spirit—not Bible college, radio and TV preachers or bookstores. Only the Spirit knows the things of God.
▶ 1:01 But demonstration of the spirit and power. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God your faith should stand in the power of God. And the Bible says that Abraham had the faith to believe that God had the power to perform what he promised that’s why Abraham’s faith was acceptable and righteousness now 1st Corinthians 2:10 same chapter God has revealed things to us through his Bible college? Through his radio and tv preachers?
▶ 1:53 through all the books at the Christian bookstore? God has revealed things to us through his spirit. his spirit the natural man can’t get the things of God it takes the spirit of God no one knows the things of God I don’t care if you’ve been to the university [unclear] if you were like Khrushchev the former premier of Russia who memorized the first five books of the Bible word by word didn’t help him [unclear].. You see the spirit knows the things of God you don’t so guess where you gotta go to understand the things of God the spirit who knows how many know that makes sense yes now.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 2:10-11 (NKJV)
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
— 1 Corinthians 2:10-11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:35What did Jesus promise the Holy Ghost would do?
Short answer: John 14:26: the Father will send the Comforter, who will teach you all things and bring all things to remembrance—future tense, fulfilled at Pentecost.
▶ 2:58 Jesus initiated this topic. That the spirit will teach all things of God he initiated that’s where they got their teaching all right John 14:26 the comforter which is the Holy Ghost which is the Holy Spirit which is the spirit of truth they’re all the same person of the godhead all right but we want to argue about the Holy Ghost in Jesus and the God the father we just we’re great debaters in the Christian world in America and not very good imitators of Christ and we think because of our much debating we’re [unclear] okay but the spirits got to give you something to say. All right. Whom the father will send in my name is that past future or present tense.
▶ 3:57 that’s [unclear] future tense whom the father will send in my name [unclear] yet. It’s important for you to know this the father is going to send the comforter the Holy Ghost and he hadn’t sent it yet. And he’s talking about in Acts 2 where they on the day of Pentecost were filled with the Holy Ghost it hadn’t happened where all flesh can be filled with the Holy Ghost this baptism of the Holy Ghost. He will teach you all things Jesus initiated it I’m going to fill you with the Holy Ghost I’m gonna baptize you with the Holy Ghost and that baptism of the Holy Ghost will teach you all things because the Holy Ghost is the one that knows the things of God is that clear and we think man if we get Calvin’s books and Wesley’s books and St..
▶ 5:01 Augustine’s books and you know all these other books Joel Osteen’s books in this book in that book I see Christians reading all kinds of books but the book. That was written by the Holy Ghost. and then and he will bring all things to your remembrance how many. Forgot what last sermon was about you’re all lying. We need what the Holy Ghost to remind us and God said the Holy Ghost the one that was to come not the spirit that was there but the Holy Ghost baptism to come there’s a big difference he will bring things to your remembrance and he will teach you all things amen now does God have the power to perform this yes but we got to ask we got to seek.
Scripture in this part
John 14:26 (NKJV)
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
— John 14:26 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:10Is the Spirit with us or in us?
Short answer: John 14:16–17: the world cannot receive the Spirit of truth; he dwells with you and shall be in you. Feeling his presence with us differs from the baptism of the Spirit in us.
▶ 6:12 Now. John 14:16 the father shall give you another comforter the spirit of truth that’s another name for the Holy Ghost whom the world cannot receive. Unbelievers can’t receive it people that walk with the world the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes in the pride of life they can’t receive this Holy Ghost this comforter. Is that clear I mean I don’t have to know greek or hebrew or anything it just says what it says doesn’t it yeah but you know him. now watch this are you listening [unclear] he who’s he the comforter the spirit of truth he dwells with you now he’s talking to his apostles.
▶ 7:09 He says the Holy Spirit is with you. Okay. But he says and it shall be in you talking about the baptism of the Holy Spirit to come are you with me. We can’t mistake the Holy Spirit the presence of God that’s with us for the Holy Spirit that’s in us pouring out of our innermost being rivers of life-giving water there’s two distinct things do you see that. Hallelujah you know we love to feel the presence of God with us but we need the Holy Ghost in us teaching us and pouring out of us through words and through behavior.
Scripture in this part
John 14:16-17 (NKJV)
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
— John 14:16-17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:13Why do people argue about the Holy Ghost?
Short answer: Because they don’t have it—like arguing about vehicles you only know from advertisements. If you had it, you wouldn’t have to argue.
▶ 8:04 The things that God wants us to learn that’s a good amen and see it’s the Holy Spirit that does this and Americans just argue about the Holy Ghost and the reason they argue about it because they don’t have it if you had it you wouldn’t have to argue about it. now [unclear] Derrick’s got a T-Rex four-wheel buggy that’s great and he knows how that things work he knows what that thing can do he don’t have to argue about it he don’t have to defend what [unclear] he knows you see why because he has it. But when you don’t have one and you don’t know well the Honda’s better or [unclear] is a Kawasaki better or this is better or that’s better and they don’t even have one to begin with they just know what they read in the advertisements could that be an amen and that’s what us Christians are we just we just know what we read in the advertisement the Christian tv and radio and the Christian books and all that and we don’t know we don’t possess it ourselves.
When did the Spirit come to be in them?
Short answer: Acts 1–2: Jesus said they’d be baptized with the Holy Ghost in a few days; at Pentecost they were filled. Confusing teaching keeps many from pursuing it.
▶ 9:25 [unclear] be in you remember in Acts [unclear] 1 & 2 Jesus said you’re going to be baptized with the Holy Ghost in a few days. Alright then in Acts 2 the day came on the day of Pentecost mighty rushing wind tongues of fire and the Bible says they were what filled with the Holy Ghost it went in [unclear] Christ said he shall be in you he was with the apostles and the people but now he’s in them. Alleluia and a lot of people just accept this one and they don’t pursue this one and most of it’s because of all the teaching about it’s got everybody confused.
Scripture in this part
Acts 1:5 (NKJV)
for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
— Acts 1:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:33 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 2:4 (NKJV)
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
— Acts 2:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:25 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Can people hear for years and not understand?
Short answer: Yes. Luke 24:45: after three and a half years, Jesus opened their understanding to understand the scriptures.
▶ 10:20 Could that be true and some of the people who say they got it act like maniacs you know. Do crazy stuff. Jesus confirms understanding scripture requires deity. All right Luke 24:45 this is the end of Luke all right three and a half years have gone by then Jesus opened their understanding that they might understand the scriptures they had been walking with Jesus for three and a half years they heard his sermon on the mount they heard his parables they heard the kingdom of God teaching they heard him teach day in day out for three and a half years and they didn’t understand the scriptures. Until he opened their understanding.
Scripture in this part
Luke 24:45 (NKJV)
And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
— Luke 24:45 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:45What does the Ethiopian eunuch show?
Short answer: He was hungry for God but needed Philip to guide him; the Spirit did the rest—he was baptized, and Philip was caught away to another town.
▶ 11:17 Is it possible to hear and not hear. Absolutely. That spirit has to come and open your understanding. Hallelujah and then you know. remember the eunuch the Ethiopian eunuch he traveled all the way from Ethiopia in those days in a chariot it took days and weeks to go places and do things he went all the way to Jerusalem to worship in the temple they’re looking for God the rabbis in the temple the priests and the temple didn’t help him going to Jerusalem didn’t help him go into the temple didn’t help him he’s on his way back because he is a bigwig in the Ethiopian government and he’s on his way back and he’s reading the Bible in the chariot now can you imagine trying to read the Bible [unclear] ah.
▶ 12:31 With very little suspension and all this and this guy is reading the scriptures riding in the chariot we won’t even read the scriptures in our comfortable La-Z-Boy [unclear]. But he was hungry for God. And it shows his hunger and he’s reading the scriptures and he doesn’t understand God came by the spirit and talked to in fact an angel came and talked to Philip and said you need to go down here and. address this eunuch’s desire for me and so the Bible says Philip ran you know the chariots going the horses and he ran up and says hey do you understand what you’re reading and the eunuch says no how can I I need someone to guide me and so the eunuch invited him up in the chariot now Philip [unclear] gets in the chariot you know and Philip starts explaining the scriptures and then we know the Holy Ghost did the rest because they came to a stream and the eunuch says there’s water what hinders me from being baptized he didn’t hear the word baptized when he went to the temple they didn’t believe in it.
▶ 13:52 The Old Testament didn’t say clearly to get baptized it gave allegories of baptism but no clear statement this was a new doctrine. and Philip says if you believe [unclear] if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you can get water baptized and he says I believe that Jesus Christ is the messiah the son of God and he got baptized and when he come out of the water Philip was transported 25 to 30 miles away to another town literally poof beam me up scotty you know the. what is it yeah [unclear] I didn’t see many of them but yeah beam me up scotty you see only the spirit can do that how do apologetics how do science people how do the heathen and the atheist explain that thing they can’t so they said it didn’t happen.
Scripture in this part
Acts 8:30-31 (NKJV)
So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.
— Acts 8:30-31 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:17 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 8:36-40 (NKJV)
Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.
— Acts 8:36-40 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:17 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How did the disciples remember Jesus’ words?
Short answer: John 2:19–22: “destroy this temple”—after he rose, his disciples remembered and believed. Sermons mean little unless the Holy Ghost opens our minds.
▶ 14:54 But it did happen because the spirit is not limited to human boundaries. Alleluia. So. We need the Holy Spirit to open our understanding. Here again John chapter 2 verse 19 now as you know John chapter 2 is at the beginning of the gospel of John right and you guys are great mathematicians. Chapter 1 that’s the beginning chapter 2 next all right Jesus said these words at the beginning of his ministry destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up he said it at the beginning three and a half years later. The apostle said he spoke of the temple of his body when he was risen his disciples what remembered he will bring all things to your remembrance.
▶ 15:59 Aren’t you glad you don’t have to worry about memorizing everything yes the Holy Ghost will bring it to remember his disciples remembered and believed the scripture and Jesus words three and one-half years later. Do we need the Holy Ghost to teach us absolutely we can hear great sermons and it doesn’t mean a hill of beans if the Holy Ghost is not opening our spiritual mind we’re just hearing it [unclear] go away feeling good because we heard a great message [unclear] if they do any dramas or theatrics or give some example oh man you see that example it’s not the examples it’s not the stories it is the Holy Ghost birthing you in truth. Now.
Scripture in this part
John 2:19-22 (NKJV)
Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body. Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.
— John 2:19-22 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:13Do we need Hebrew and Greek?
Short answer: First Corinthians 2:13: we speak what the Holy Ghost teaches, comparing spiritual with spiritual. He met a seminary-trained man who knew Hebrew and Greek yet didn’t understand.
▶ 16:53 Holy Spirit’s teaching power continued here 1st Corinthians 2:13 we speak things still in the same chapter not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth but which the Holy Ghost teaches he makes it very clear that this stuff is taught and filled by the Holy Ghost which Holy Ghost the one with us or the one that’s to be in us the one to be in us. Comparing spiritual things with spiritual not natural science not hebrew and greek and now back in the old days everybody [unclear] the Greek word here means you know agape versus eros love [unclear] agape love is God’s love or the rhema word the living word versus the logos word the human word oh we [unclear] didn’t even know Greek and Hebrew but oh we were good at telling everybody what the Hebrew and Greek words mean.
▶ 18:06 so what are the people in the mountains of Peru gonna do if they got to know Hebrew and Greek it doesn’t make sense does it I met a man I. Always mingled with other churches and I met a man in another church in a leadership conference and he told me that he went to Bible seminary Bible university to learn Hebrew and Greek so he could understand the scriptures thoroughly and folks he didn’t understand anything about the scriptures there was another person there that barely graduated from high school. That knew the scriptures very well. Because he had the Holy Spirit teaching it and this poor guy and even after I shared with him that you need the spirit to reveal these things it isn’t the Hebrew and the Greek [unclear] he couldn’t comprehend it because he’s into the natural intellect.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 2:13 (NKJV)
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
— 1 Corinthians 2:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:57Why can’t the natural man understand?
Short answer: First Corinthians 2:14: the things of the Spirit are foolishness to him; they are spiritually discerned. The virgin birth and Philip’s catching away can’t be explained naturally.
▶ 19:21 And it’s not the natural intellect that does that the spirit of God has to touch [unclear] mind for us to understand things is that clear yes and so we need this Holy Ghost we need this Holy Spirit alright the natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God all right you you can’t find God by trying to naturally study you got to get on your knees and ask God to open that book up to you you got to get someone’s message and you got to go through the scriptures to see if it’s true then you got to get on your knees and ask God to show you and birth it in you he said he would inscribe his word in our minds and in heart that’s him he has to do it then it’s yours then you can live it you can talk it and you can walk it can I hear an amen.
▶ 20:24 The things of the spirit are foolishness to him that looks at the natural neither can he know them for they are spiritually discerned. See how do you naturally explain a virgin was with child of the Holy Ghost I ask that atheists to explain that ask the Christian to explain that. The only explanation is the Holy Ghost came and she conceived a child the son of God no natural father a natural mother no natural father that was Jesus who was born the only begotten son of God. The rest of us were born in the flesh and we become sons of God he was the only conceived son of God see you can’t explain that naturally that’s impossible.
▶ 21:31 the spirit as I said earlier catching away Philip how [unclear] explain that [unclear] well the writer was drunk at that time you know he just wrote that in there now now there are so many things in the Bible that natural reasoning cannot explain why because they’re supernaturally done and so is your given ability to learn the gospel it’s given to you by the Holy Ghost remember Jesus said I. Came to you you didn’t come to me I came to you all right and we all say boy I came to Christ no he brought us to the father he brought us to himself and you responded you see.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV)
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
— 1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:26 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Does the Spirit ever say no?
Short answer: Yes—he forbade Paul and Silas to preach in Asia. The Spirit gives utterance in languages, heals the maimed and makes unclear things clear.
▶ 22:32 Now for you spiritual ones that all the promises of God are yes and amen to them that believe what do you do with the fact that God wouldn’t allow Paul and Silas to preach the gospel in Asia the Bible says the Holy Spirit forbade them to preach the gospel in Asia man we just want to go to anybody anywhere anytime and then they were going to go to [unclear] and the Holy Spirit said no you can’t go preach the gospel in [unclear]. well there goes your everything is yes. Does God say no there’s a lot of things God says no to that the church is saying he said yes to and it’s not the Holy Ghost saying yes it’s them saying yes. Are you with me.
▶ 23:25 This Holy Ghost is very important folks somebody asked me not long ago how do you keep bringing every Sunday something new and something fresh I said it’s a lot of work and it’s the Holy Spirit that does that I can’t sit around on my duff and not read and seek God and study I have to seek him and I have to but it’s the Holy Ghost that comes and gives you what he wants to say. Hallelujah that’s why you can be fresh all the time and you can too you don’t have to wait for the minister. How do they speak in new languages that they didn’t know how do you explain that they said not for today and you know they got all these arguments about tongues languages when the Bible says languages are signed for the unbeliever folks we need every tool that God has to get unbelievers to come to Christ don’t you agree yes so why do we want to push tongues out they spoke 15 different languages on the day of Pentecost 15.
▶ 24:37 then Paul says [unclear] I speak in tongues more than you all he was around teaching all the tribes and all the dialects and everything else and obviously God gave him their language. And how many you know that’ll wake you up when somebody comes from Russia and they know english and then never studied it and they only know it when they’re preaching. Are you there. Do you ever think of these things. You see they couldn’t speak in that language except when the Holy Ghost gave them utterance that’s what it says in Acts 2 the Holy Spirit gave them utterance when the Holy Spirit didn’t give them the utterance they had to shut up. Amen. And what do you do about healing the sick I mean lepers are cleansed we’re talking about maimed people with no hands or no fingers or a foot or whatever got a new hand [unclear] finger a new foot.
▶ 25:38 You see the natural man can’t comprehend that that’s why the Bible says God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe that’s why the Bible says that the rich man was told that if they won’t believe the preaching of the Old Testament they’re not going to believe if one rose from the dead isn’t that true. Jesus rose from the dead and a lot of people don’t believe in him because they don’t believe the preaching they don’t allow the Holy Ghost to come and convict them and convince them and respond to him they don’t want to respond they want to stay in their sin all right they are spiritually discerned the word discerned of course is to see and understand something that was unclear before how many got a lot of things that’s unclear in the Bible okay this is they’re spiritually discerned if you keep seeking him you keep reading you keep asking he is going to open your eyes to see it clearly.
Scripture in this part
Acts 16:6-7 (NKJV)
Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.
— Acts 16:6-7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:44 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Luke 16:31 (NKJV)
But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ”
— Luke 16:31 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 26:02 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Did Pentecostals see the Spirit as teacher?
Short answer: He says Pentecostals shook and got happy but didn’t let the Spirit teach them, and others stood “like a dead log.” Part of the Spirit’s ministry is to teach all things.
▶ 26:45 Things that are unclear you will see clearly now those are powerful promises and when we think of the Holy Ghost in Pentecostal and charismatic [unclear] we think of gifts of the spirit and tongues and interpretation and prophecy and healings and miracles we never thought when I was in [unclear] we never thought that this Holy Ghost power is to teach him. They would shake you know they would get happy they would do all kinds of things but they would not let the Holy Ghost teach them and part of the ministry of the Holy Ghost is teach you all things. Then the other ones that laughed at Pentecostals and charismatics they didn’t even believe in anything they’re just standing there like a dead log.
What does Elisha’s story show?
Short answer: Second Kings 6:17: God showed the prophet Syria’s plans; when surrounded, his servant’s eyes were opened to horses and chariots of fire. He says we won’t need to be raptured—God protects his people.
▶ 27:43 I’m not going to get emotional I don’t want to get into that emotional stuff yeah he does God have emotions does he weep does he rejoice yeah he has emotions good Lord people. okay in second Kings chapter 6 verse 17 let me give you the story here Syria where [unclear] comes from by the way invades. The Jewish nation and they’re still invading it today no.
▶ 28:33 and [unclear] Elijah the prophet God shows him every act that the king of Syria is going to do if the king of Syria is gonna go up here and attack this city he tells the king of Israel hey the Syrians are going over here and when the Syrians get over there [unclear] nobody is there to attack they said well let’s go down and attack this place Elijah in one place he’s not seeing this army God just shows him all right God just shows him and then Elijah [unclear] goes to the king of Israel and says hey they’re gonna go down here to this it so everybody evacuates everybody gets out and the king gets there and there’s no spoils there’s nothing just empty houses empty places nothing and so the king of Syria goes okay who’s the spy who is telling the king of Israel what what I’m doing and one of the people says well to be honest with you their prophet Elijah he hears what you say in your bedchamber.
▶ 29:40 Even before you bring it to your council and bring it to your generals he knows what you’re thinking before you get up that morning [unclear] do it and he tells the king of Israel so the king of Syria goes where’s that guy at well he’s down there in his house he’s not moving around no he’s right there in his house all this is happening from his house so the king of Syria comes down and surrounds that house.. Okay Elisha has a servant you know a a guy. Growing up to take his place you know [unclear] a trainee yeah yeah and the trainee gets up and he walks out and lo and behold there’s an army all around the city he looks this way he looks that way he runs over there oh my gosh [unclear] and he wakes up Elisha [unclear] says Elisha look at this we’re surrounded what we’re gonna do.
▶ 30:45 and Elisha says [unclear] prayed open his eyes Lord and the Lord opened the young man’s eyes and he saw the mountain full of horses chariots of fire all around Elisha ah. You see there is a spirit world just right there that we can’t see. the third heaven isn’t up there the [unclear] heaven is right here you just can’t see it. And his eyes were open to see it. How many you know with those angelic spirit chariots of fire and [unclear] Syria doesn’t have a chance you know right so what does Elijah do you know he says Lord smite this army with blindness bam.
▶ 31:49 Nobody could see. Now you’re telling me that we have to be raptured out in the last day to be protected from the sin and the violence and everything coming. Folks we have a source of power that’s supernatural we don’t need nuclear weapons. Missiles or anything when God moves in these last days you’re going to see the supernatural manifestation of God and the protection of his people. Without snatching us out. They have taught it so long almost everybody believes that we’re really going to be snatched out of this world and God is going to show his power through his people in that time isn’t that beautiful.
▶ 32:54 So who’s afraid of North Korea who’s afraid of Russia.. Listen. We have a big gun and let me tell you if he could deliver and I could tell you other stories in the present day and I don’t have time but God is the one winning battles out there and deciding who loses are you there hallelujah aren’t you glad you serve that kind of God. Yeah yes okay so he leads the army to the king of Israel then he says Lord open their eyes and here they are right in the middle of Samaria with the king of Israel’s army all around them and the king wanted to kill them all and Elisha says no [unclear] you don’t do that these are captives you feed them you [unclear] them and you send them back and the Bible says the Syrian army came no more why they’re scared to death of Elisha and [unclear] they weren’t scared of the king of Israel and all of his chariots and all the spears but boy they learned a lesson that Elisha and his God ain’t going there again we’ll invade some other land amen that’s how powerful God is that’s how powerful the Holy Spirit is now.
Scripture in this part
2 Kings 6:17 (NKJV)
And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
— 2 Kings 6:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 28:072 Kings 6:18-23 (NKJV)
So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. Now Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” But he led them to Samaria. So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said, “LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria! Now when the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, “My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?” But he answered, “You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set food and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master.” Then he prepared a great feast for them; and after they ate and drank, he sent them away and they went to their master. So the bands of Syrian raiders came no more into the land of Israel.

Short answer: The fiery furnace, Daniel in the lions’ den, Adam and Eve created grown. He knows he’s saved and filled because the Spirit bears witness. Ephesians 1:17: the spirit of wisdom and revelation.
▶ 34:17 Let me submit to you. how do you explain the [unclear]. See how do you explain hebrew children three Hebrew children in a fiery furnace not getting burned up. How do you explain Daniel and the lions den no harm came when everybody before him were eaten and everybody after him was eaten. Yes it’s the Holy Spirit it’s the Holy Spirit supernaturally taking care of his people these things cannot be explained naturally they are spiritually discerned amen I know I’m saved why because I’ve spiritually discerned I felt it I experienced it I know I’m filled with the Holy Ghost because I felt it I experienced it I know in whom I believe why cuz [unclear] the Holy Spirit bears witness it’s a spiritual thing and I don’t need apologetic books to convince me of God and I don’t need science in the Bible to convince me of God I am convinced of God because the Holy Ghost came to me and did what he said he would do and no.
▶ 35:35 Matter which way other people go I’m following the road of truth. Because the Holy Ghost is leading me that way I don’t have to follow the crowd or the eccentrics. Adam and Eve I used to say this to my atheist brother if you could go back to creation you got your big bang I got Genesis 1. Now you meet Adam and Eve. On the seventh day when God rested and Adam and Eve are like six foot and five foot ten [unclear] Eve’s a little shorter I guess or whatever and they got 32 teeth in their head. And. They’re that tall I said.
▶ 36:30 You would say they’re 30 years old and God would say I just made them yesterday. You see the natural man can’t understand this I said well [unclear] they don’t have a navel they don’t have a bellybutton because they weren’t born with an umbilical cord it’s missing how are you going to explain that. I say you go over and cut down a sequoia tree that’s hundreds of feet high. 100 feet wide. And you’re gonna tell your other atheist how old it is by the rings one two three four five. And the tree falls and there’s no rings.
▶ 37:28 It was just made three days ago. totally grown I said that’s the power of the Bible you got no power in anything you tell me it’s all supposition big bang something out of nothing billions of years are you with me. Hallelujah. In closing. Ephesians 1:17 as we get ready with the communion and music may God the father give you the spirit of wisdom the spirit of
▶ 38:22 Revelation in the knowledge of him. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened. Being opened being taught. And the Holy Ghost is saying that to us today. Let God open your eyes. To see truth be taught truth. Don’t be afraid of the Holy Spirit.

About this transcript
This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: A congregant’s name is in the transcript only. Kept as spoken: the prophet in 2 Kings 6 is mostly called “Elijah” (it is Elisha) (28:33–31:52). Points to check: Khrushchev memorized the first five books of the Bible (2:00); Philip transported “25 to 30 miles”; Pentecost “15 different languages”. Sensitive content kept as spoken: Syria “still invading it today”; some who claim the Spirit “act like maniacs”; Pentecostals didn’t let the Spirit teach them, others “like a dead log”; no need to be raptured out; North Korea and Russia; “the writer was drunk” (mocking skeptics).
