The Gift of the Holy Spirit: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer teaches that the gift of the Holy Spirit has the same requirements as salvation and is promised to all flesh in these last days. He walks through the Spirit’s expressions in Acts—wind, fire, tongues, boldness, signs, guidance into truth—and concludes that the most powerful proof is being changed into a good person and staying that way, with love as the more excellent way.
What are the requirements for receiving the Holy Spirit?
Short answer: The same as salvation: ask, confess, repent, be baptized in water and yield. Acts 2:38: repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost—a gift, like salvation.
▶ 0:00 So we’re going to look at the gift of the Holy Spirit this morning and we’re going to find that the gift of salvation and the gift of the Holy Spirit have the same requirements. Okay you got to ask you got to confess you got to repent you got to be baptized in water and you got to yield to him in Acts 238.
▶ 0:36 Peter said repent turn from your sins and be baptized in water all of you how many all of us these people that don’t believe you got to be water baptized what do you do with these scriptures plus Jesus got water baptized and he has our example what are you going to do tell him he’s out of order he don’t know what he’s doing it says you’re plainly all are to repent all or to be baptized in water and the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission the forgiveness the deliverance of sin [unclear] so the requirement for the deliverance of sin is I gotta turn from my sin that means I got to admit that I’m a sinner I gotta confess that I’m wrong I gotta admit that I’m wrong I got to ask God to deliver me and forgive me and he does and then I get water baptized and then I yield to his purposes okay all of us and then he says this statement and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost is the Holy Ghost of gift that plainly said it’s the gift he gives you like salvation he gives you freely salvation even though you prayed even though you repented even though you confess your sins.
Scripture in this part
Acts 2:38 (NKJV)
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
— Acts 2:38 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:00Is the gift of the Holy Spirit for today?
Short answer: Acts 2:39: the promise is to you, your children and all that are afar off, as many as the Lord shall call—everyone who accepts God’s invitation. John 7:38–39: he who believes, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water; this he spoke of the Spirit.
▶ 2:02 He is the one that delivers and frees you it is a gift amen and so the same requirement is for the gift of the Holy Ghost we got asked for it we got to admit we don’t have it we got to turn from any. Doubt or ideology and our mind that it’s not for today or whatever and we got to receive that gift of the Holy Spirit it got a yield to it when he comes now he goes on to say for the promise is unto you talking to those that are in Jerusalem from all parts of the world and your children your offspring and just to make sure everybody understood and to all that are far off are we a far off from that day yes so is the gift of the spirit for us also.
▶ 3:05 Yeah I mean this guy knows what he’s talking about all right even as many as the Lord our God shall call alleluia and so the baptism of the Holy Ghost being filled with the Holy Spirit is not only for today but the promises is unto every one of us that accepts God’s invitation the word call [unclear] means invited does he invite everyone to the cross to be forgiven yes when we respond we are candidates for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Remember in John chapter. 7. Jesus said he that believes on me out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of life-giving water for this he spoke of the spirit to come for Christ and not being glorified hadn’t died and resurrected yet so the statement is he that believes on me shall have what.
Scripture in this part
Acts 2:39 (NKJV)
For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
— Acts 2:39 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:41John 7:38-39 (NKJV)
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
— John 7:38-39 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:58 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is the difference between having and being filled with the Spirit?
Short answer: Having the Spirit is God’s presence in us—we are his temple. Being filled is like an artesian well flowing out. Some reject the Holy Spirit as not for today, as some reject Jesus as the only way.
▶ 4:17 Rivers flowing out of them the Holy Spirit the same thing in John 3:16 he that believeth on me shall not perish but have everlasting life see the same requirements for the Holy Spirit is the same requirement. For salvation and we believe that if I we believe in the cross him taken my place that I can be forgiven I can be cleansed and I can go to heaven then the same statement if you believe you out of your innermost being flows rivers of life-giving water and this is the difference between having the spirit and being filled with the spirit. Okay being filled with spirits like an artesian well flows out of you having the spirit is the presence of God in you we are the temple of God aren’t we amen yeah the spirit of God dwells in us now.
▶ 5:15 Some reject this gift saying it’s not for today just as some people reject the gift of the Lord Jesus saying all roads lead to the same God that Jesus is not the only way the only truth and the only life some people reject Christ the muslims say he didn’t even die on the cross and the Bible says if it’s no shedding of blood there’s no. Remission of sins yes well I mean where is their head and so they reject Jesus just like some people reject the Holy Ghost they want to see it’s not for today or or they get it when they’re water baptized and I’m [unclear] you get it when you get it and just because Jesus got it when he was water baptized doesn’t mean you got it when you were water baptized you get it when you get it get it.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV)
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
— 1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:08 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Hebrews 9:22 (NKJV)
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
— Hebrews 9:22 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:38 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What did Joel prophesy?
Short answer: Acts 2:16–18 quoting Joel 2:28: in the last days I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy, young men see visions, old men dream dreams. “Last days” means it continued through Acts to today. Everyone is a candidate, and women prophesy too. Visions and dreams carry a message.
▶ 6:11 Now. The promise was made over 800 years before acts chapter 2 their 800 years God prophesied that he would pour out his spirit upon all flesh in acts chapter 2 verse 16 Peter is quoting from Joel the prophet Joel chapter 2 verse 28 and this is what Joel said and this is what Peter is repeating after they were filled with the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 they spoke in 15 different languages and that day there was a mighty wind there were cloven cloven tongues as a fire that appeared I mean something miraculous happened that day and Peter stood up and explained that this is that spoken by the prophet Joel it shall come to pass in the last days now please remember.
▶ 7:15 It doesn’t say last day it says last days. So this event did not stop on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 it continued on through the book of acts and it continues on through the centuries up to our day are we in the last days yes and we don’t know how long these last days are Jesus said only the father knows only the father knows this is where the Jesus only people and the muslims really miss it. [unclear] say there’s just one person up there and there is but he has three distinct personalities and God the father only is the only one that knows when the end is coming in that what Jesus said can Jesus lie can he lie no.
▶ 8:15 So let’s give God the father credit for being God the father let’s give God the son credit for being God the son and let’s give God the Holy Ghost for being God the Holy Ghost could that be an amen. Hallelujah. Okay in the last days and we know we’re in the last days because acts chapter 2 started it this is fulfilled in the last day I will pour out my spirit on special people. [unclear]. Know I will pour my spirit on all flesh how many of you here this morning are here in the flesh yeah it means you’re alive if you weren’t in the flesh you’ve been a grave. There’s nothing wrong with the flesh oh yeah I will pour it out on all flesh everyone is a candidate.
▶ 9:15 Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. So one of the manifestations of the outpouring of the spirit is what prophecy and both males and females can what. Prophecy now for those who believe women have got to keep quiet in the church they misunderstand that scripture totally how in the world can God fulfill this if women can’t speak in the church. Duh. You see how simple it is. Alleluia he’s going to pour it out on what all flesh men women the eskimos the africans the chinese South America is going to pour it out on what all flesh including the islands of the sea the Bible says amen and so we should be looking for an all flesh manifestation of the Holy Ghost amen.
▶ 10:18 Instead of what these books and these people try to tell us things are they twist the scriptures as the Bible says to their own destruction and the destruction of others will see visions and dream dreams. Okay visions are there to teach if you’re seeing a vision and there’s no message you just had a nightmare all right you didn’t have a dream of spiritual dream you had a nightmare I don’t care if you’ve seen an angel or whatever if there’s no message it’s no vision it’s no dream from the Bible got it because God interested in getting his message out alright so that was a hundred years now folks we serve a God that can predict something a hundred years before it happened and then do it on the very day of Pentecost this has happened on the very feast of Pentecost all right he predicted it and then he does it that Bible is a very supernatural book now.
Scripture in this part
Acts 2:16-18 (NKJV)
But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.
— Acts 2:16-18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:28Joel 2:28 (NKJV)
“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
— Joel 2:28 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:33How did the Spirit express himself at Pentecost?
Short answer: He says the Bible never calls tongues the evidence of the Holy Spirit, though tongues are a proof. Acts 2: a mighty wind, cloven tongues like fire, 120 filled together, speaking in the languages of the Jews gathered—a sign to unbelievers. Peter preached and God added about 3,000.
▶ 11:24 We’re going to look at expressions of the Holy Spirit remember he said I don’t want you to be ignorant of the gifts of the spirit and the Holy Spirit and he says I give to one. word of wisdom to another word of knowledge to another discerning of spirits to another faith to another [unclear] on down the line so let’s look at these expressions these manifestations of the Holy Spirit and and what I’m trying to do is neutralize the thinking in America about the [unclear] of the Holy Ghost, those Pentecostals and charismatics the tongues are the only evidence of the Holy Ghost that’s not true and it’s not even in there it anything say in the Bible that tongues are the sign.
▶ 12:18 Of the Holy Spirit it doesn’t say that all right but tongues is a proof of God aren’t they yeah yeah they are so let’s look at the expressions ready Acts 2 as we’ve been talking about a mighty wind and fiery tongues now that’s in a brownish color because that shows the power that mighty wind was a supernatural thing in that room wasn’t happening anywhere else those cloven fiery tongues was a supernatural event a miracle a sign and then. 120 people there it was a group manifestation a group got filled they spoke in 15 different languages there and they didn’t need an interpreter because they spoke in the languages of all the Jews that came for the feast of Pentecost they spoke in their different dialects their languages and those people understood them and that caused a lot of them to believe because tongues are a sign to the unbeliever.
▶ 13:28 Could we use a dose of that in the world today yeah. Now. Peter got up and spoke the gospel and three thousand were added to the church. We got to remember this that God added to the church you didn’t just go through some form there was an a spiritual awakening in people they responded God drew them into the church could that be an amen that’s why getting elephants and skydivers to get people to come you know doesn’t work why because God has got to do the work inside of people and bring them into the church. Well that’s good preaching.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 12:8-10 (NKJV)
for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
— 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:24 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 2:2-4 (NKJV)
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
— Acts 2:2-4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:24 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 2:41 (NKJV)
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
— Acts 2:41 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:39 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What happened when they were filled again?
Short answer: Acts 4:8–12: Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said there is no other name for salvation—not all religions lead to God. Acts 4:31–33: the place was shaken, all spoke the word with boldness, they were of one mind, and the apostles gave witness of the resurrection with great power.
▶ 14:22 And it’s the church has a responsibility to have the manifestation of God’s presence of the Holy Ghost to draw people yes they can reject it yes they can turn him off but it’s our responsibility to come and allow God to move on people by his Holy Spirit could that be an amen. So we got one two three four expressions right there on the day of Pentecost in. Acts 4:8 Peter the Bible says filled with the Holy Ghost spoke. To the people that Jesus is the only way to salvation he said there is no other. Savior but Jesus Christ now folks that means not all religions lead to the same God the only way to get to God the father is through who Jesus Christ let’s don’t argue about it let’s just accept it could that be an amen jeez we want to argue about so were so many worthless things and so he spoke the word of God see he spoke the word of God here.
▶ 15:37 And Acts 4:31 and they were in the room praying they had just been persecuted they were in a place praying the place was shaken here’s another manifestation of the supernatural power of God and you know this building just started shaking and nothing else around us and no earthquake how many know that’s a manifestation of God yeah and then they all it didn’t tell us how many were in this room but all that were in the room did what spoke confidently the word of God isn’t it beautiful they spoke the word of God confidently and they had unity now that would be a novelty.
▶ 16:25 Unity they were one mind one purpose my Lord you guys realize it’s going to take the Holy Ghost on a movement of God to get us in unity yeah some of us is so thick-headed like me it takes a spiritual sledgehammer to even jar your brain thinking to change your ways in that true we’re so set in our way and the Holy Ghost can do that and then mighty signs and wonders were done by the apostles to show forth the power of God’s resurrection so we here we have three and unity is man do we do we need to be in unity oh yes wow.
Scripture in this part
Acts 4:12 (NKJV)
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
— Acts 4:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:22 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 4:31 (NKJV)
And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
— Acts 4:31 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:37What did the Spirit do through Stephen?
Short answer: Acts 6:8: Stephen, a deacon—no apostle—did great wonders and signs. They could not resist the wisdom and spirit by which he spoke. Acts 7:55: full of the Holy Ghost he saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God. God pours out his Spirit on all flesh, even a “nobody.”
▶ 17:11 Acts 6 and 7:55 Stephen full of the Holy Ghost had faith that was one of the gifts of the spirit he had power he did great the Bible says signs and wonders great ones and he was just a deacon he wasn’t an apostle he wasn’t a prophet he wasn’t a teacher or anything he was a deacon and here he is speaking the word of God and doing signs and wonders but God said I’ll pour out my spirit on what all flesh you don’t have to be an apostle you don’t have to be a prophet when he chooses you to do things he can do them through you and he chose Stephen a nobody and the upper echelon here.
▶ 18:03 Does that give you hope don’t you ever feel like a nobody well I do hey. And so then he saw Jesus he had a vision of Jesus standing at the right hand of the father here’s again the muslims and the Jesus only people they missed the boat that resurrected body of Christ is up in heaven God in the flesh with no blood with an immortal body showing us that we are going to be raised with an immortal body never decay and living forever are you there and he saw two people up in heaven didn’t he two personalities God the son and God the father and the son was at the right hand just like the scripture says two or three times the other the son Jesus sits at the right hand of the father amen and so the muslims can talk about all they want to and how great he was he was a liar.
▶ 19:02 Why that God be true in every man a liar. Alleluia Jesus was God they need to admit it they need to repent from it confess it and stop this nonsense of pushing their religion they need to get to the truth could that be true. So do we alleluia. Alright he spoke the word of God and he did a great job he spoke so clearly they they could not. Debate. [unclear] they could not contest him they had no argument when he got done when Stephen got done they had no argument would you like to speak like that yeah well he was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Scripture in this part
Acts 6:8-10 (NKJV)
And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen (Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and those from Cilicia and Asia), disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.
— Acts 6:8-10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:11 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 7:55 (NKJV)
But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,
— Acts 7:55 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:11Must the Spirit-filled always do miracles?
Short answer: John the Baptist did no miracle but was filled with the Holy Spirit and preached repentance. Acts 11:24: Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Ghost and faith, and many were added. Acts 13:9: Paul, filled with the Holy Ghost, struck the sorcerer blind. Acts 19:6: the Ephesians spoke with tongues and prophesied.
▶ 19:57 Now remember John the Baptist did no miracle but he was what filled with the Holy Spirit and this is a mistake charismatics and us Pentecostals have made is that the Holy Ghost is the power. Well John the Baptist had it and he had the power to preach the gospel and many came and repented and how many know that’s okay you don’t have to be healing and walking on water or anything else you just need to be doing what God empowers you to do amen now. In Acts 1124 Barnabas was a what good man hmm. Full of the Holy Ghost now how do you know the other apostles were good men too it just didn’t say it like this but they were good man.
▶ 20:56 He was full of faith and that’s a gift of the Holy Spirit and many people were added to the Lord how many know that should be a result of a manifestation of the Holy Ghost people being drawn to God hallelujah but he was also what a good man. Alleluia how many would like people to say that of you shame on you man when you’re in the grave and they’re doing your obituary they should be able to say honestly that you were a good man and we should strive for that good person Acts 13:9 Paul filled with the Holy Spirit made the sorcerer blind there was a sorcerer there [unclear] and Paul filled with the Holy Ghost [unclear] God smite you with blindness and man that guy went blind now that’s a supernatural manifestation of God just like it said the gifts of the spirit miracles different from healings is his miracles supernatural events in.
Scripture in this part
Acts 11:24 (NKJV)
For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
— Acts 11:24 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:57Acts 13:9-11 (NKJV)
Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, “O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.” And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
— Acts 13:9-11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 21:37Acts 19:6 (NKJV)
And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
— Acts 19:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:05How does the Spirit guide us?
Short answer: John 16:7–13: the Comforter convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment and guides into all truth—found in the Bible. He says when he was filled, the Spirit drove him to study the Bible daily, verse by verse.
▶ 22:06 Acts 19:6 and Ephesus the Holy Ghost came upon the Ephesians that were in that place and they spoke with what tongues and prophesied. Okay so we didn’t see tongues at every event did we we didn’t see prophecy at every event but we did see speaking at most of the events denver when the comforter John 16:7. The spirit of truth has come he will guide you drive you lead you into all truth. Convince you of sin and convince you of what is right and will convince you there’s a judgment coming so you better do what’s right and then.
▶ 23:01 Now this is an expression of the Holy Spirit he will guide you he will lead you he will drive you move you into all truth and where do you find all truth. The Bible hear you say the Bible yes. How many are literate you can read okay if one person raised their hand oh yeah. Because you know what I’m getting to we can read and we don’t read it we don’t find time to read and study that Bible that we say is the best book in the world number one seller are you out there we got time for everything but that book and that.
▶ 23:55 Shows you don’t have the Holy Ghost. It shows you’re not filled with the Holy Ghost because if you were he would bug you to no end to get into that book I. Know that’s for a fact but then I got filled with the Holy Ghost he forced me into the Bible to study it verse by verse and read it every day I read it during my lunch already before I went to work I man I would just he would not let up and because I kept reading and seeking it I started getting understanding and I started getting understanding that the people who were teaching me didn’t have understanding. Are you there.
Scripture in this part
John 16:7-8 (NKJV)
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
— John 16:7-8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:35John 16:13 (NKJV)
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
— John 16:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:42 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Does the Holy Spirit change a person?
Short answer: 1 Samuel 10:6: the Spirit will come upon you, you will prophesy and be turned into another man. Saul didn’t remain in the change—you can grieve and quench the Spirit, so maintain the change. Acts 1:8: you shall receive power and be witnesses; let your light shine.
▶ 24:47 Alleluia. Now. In first Samuel 10:6 another manifestation of the Holy Spirit the spirit of the Lord would come upon you Saul and you will prophesy with them there’s that prophesy again and in the Old Testament prophecy was very common with the move of the Holy Spirit on people and you will be turned into another man say that with me turned into another man turned into another man now remember Barnabas was a what good man the Holy Spirit turned him into a good man Saul was turned into another man do you think he was turned into a bad man he was turned into a good man but Saul did not remain in.
▶ 25:41 The chain you see you can grieve the Holy Ghost. All right you can quench the Holy Ghost it’s your responsibility to maintain that Holy Ghost when you get it because he is the source of what the change in our life. Hallelujah. So the change needs to remain say that the change needs to remain now you can’t live on some experience I can’t live on my being filled with the Holy Ghost at that assembly God church and in October back there 40 some years ago I got to what maintain the change. Acts 1:8 you shall receive power when the Holy Ghost is.
▶ 26:36 Come upon you power supernatural ability supernatural power and you’ll be witnesses to the ends of the earth you’ll be proof now Jesus said let your light so shine before men that they may see what your good works Barnabas was a good man Saul was changed into a another man to do good works to cause people to see and bring honor to God. And then what it said alleluia and he says I’m going to empower you to be a light to the world so you got these manifestations guide you into all truth power and turned into another man now let me ask you a question which of these many expressions of the Holy Ghost.
Scripture in this part
1 Samuel 10:6 (NKJV)
Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.
— 1 Samuel 10:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:52Ephesians 4:30 (NKJV)
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
— Ephesians 4:30 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:45 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
— Acts 1:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:41What is the most powerful expression of the Spirit?
Short answer: Being changed to a good person and remaining good. Children want a good dad, not a prophet; spouses want a good spouse. Spirit-filled Christians pay their debts, work and provide. Acts 10:38: God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power, who went about doing good—starting at home.
▶ 27:29 Expresses the most useful power and proof. Now when I was young if you’d asked me that signs and wonders man raising the dead healing the sick gasps. But when you get more knowledge and more understanding you’re thinking changes. Which expresses the most power and proof. Alleluia I submit to you.
▶ 28:05 Being changed to a good person and remaining a good person is the most powerful expression of the Holy Spirit. You see my children need a dad they couldn’t care less if I can prophesy they couldn’t care less that I could speak in tongues and I can interpret them hey kids guess what you got a dad can speak in tongues and he can interpret them how good yeah man I’m prophesied and and I’ve seen miracles uh you know every once in a while God does a miracle I tell you kid then I interested in that at all they’re interested in a good father a father who will get down and play balloon volleyball and soccer and kicked the can or kicked the stick or step ball or whatever hide and seek they’re interested in a dad and a good dad not one yells and screams at them and beats them to death and yeah am I right.
▶ 29:14 A spouse wants a good spouse a good name they could care the least if you’re a leader in the church I’m a [unclear] deacon in the church was so what you’re worthless. At home you are worthless. But our youth leader Sunday school teachers so what. You need to be a good man a good person could that be true I seen for years people speaking in tongues and shaken and all that with a Holy Ghost coming up on women and and I got a word from you and I got a word for you and they needed a word for themself. God always brought me a word to straighten out me.
▶ 30:11 He was interested in [unclear] not [unclear] in the world and anyway I had to work through all this these people didn’t pay their debts these people will go home and scream at their spouse lose their temper yell scream haha and pay their bills didn’t even know how to balance their checkbook they come in. Yeah. And you think that they were in the third heaven all the time and then you see him yelling at their husband and screaming out their kids. Going out on her spouse. You don’t know how many people I saw singing in the church and testifying in the church that got caught and sexual misconduct they weren’t a good father or a good.
▶ 31:12 Husband at home or a good mom or a good wife but they could come in and sing oh they had the voice and they got [unclear] testimonies they knew I’d articulate there were their testimony and I had to scratch my head I’m going how can this be. Christian’s pay their debts Christians work. And people filled with the Holy Ghost are going to pay their debts they’re going to work provide for the home they’re going to be a good husband a good father a good wife a good mother. That to me was the greatest thing the Holy Spirit can do for us alleluia because that works every day healings come I got healed ten years ago from valley fever all right the doctor said you got a miracle I’ve seen this several times before but sign you got a miracle you should be dead.
▶ 32:18 But you know that comes and goes and everybody gets its shadow we got America we got a miracle but you know after 30 days yeah who cares. But if you’re good. It keeps on. Affecting people alleluia. Acts 10:38 God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power okay he had two things didn’t he the Holy Ghost and he had the power I will you shall receive power if the Holy Ghost has come upon you he went about doing what good are we going about doing good. Starting with our home forget the poor. Forget the drug addict and alcoholic are we doing good in our home.
▶ 33:19 Do we have control of our tongue do we have control of our behavior. Amen. Jesus our example he went about doing what good and healing all oppressed of the Devil this is where the power comes in healing all oppressed not possessed but oppress the Devil seduces us the Devil and accuses us and gets us that’s fall into temptation and sin and Jesus went about doing good and healing those that were trapped by the Devil into sin don’t we need that kind of Holy Ghost amen. It can’t be by gimmicks and programs it’s got to be by this supernatural power of the Holy Ghost working in normal people like us and let me tell you he can work in you even with sin in your life and in the mid week and the weekly Bible study I showed you that God invited those sinners to meet with him in.
▶ 34:31 Exodus and he’s still inviting sinners to meet with him and the church needs to understand that and have God here to meet with them amen it’s not how great your pastor is or how great your worship leader is or how great of musicians you got it’s how to greater presence there is for God to draw people to himself now that was good hallelujah now. Second one driven to learn on obey the scripture scriptural truth driven guided he will guide you into all truth you see I got filled with the Holy Ghost and I was ignorant of the Bible and when you got filled with something in your ignore the Bible you can do some strange thing.
▶ 35:24 You see so it is imperative that the Holy Ghost wat drives you to the Bible so that you can want contain in an orderly manner this expression of the Holy Ghost and so he knows how to take the shakes than the jerks out he knows how to get rid of a slain in the spirit and adding to the church folks the end result should be us growing in God and people coming and being added by the Holy Spirit by God to the church it’s real it’s genuine alleluia I submit to you those are the power and the proof that. Expresses what we need.

— Acts 10:38 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 32:18Which is the more excellent way?
Short answer: 1 Corinthians 13:1–3: though I speak with tongues of men and angels, have prophecy and all faith, give all my goods to feed the poor or my body to be burned, and have not love, I am a clanging gong and nothing. Love is the more excellent way.
▶ 36:19 Consistently in the church. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels tongues are a gift of the Holy Spirit expression of the Holy Spirit 1st Corinthians 13 though I have the gift of prophecy which we saw in the expressions and all faith which we saw and the expressions when people were filled with the Holy Ghost and I can move mountains if I feed the poor and faith and feeding the poor is where America is man if you got faith and if you’re helping the poor and the down-and-out you are a spiritual person and your church is spiritual but look what Paul said if I have faith to do supernatural thing if I feed the poor give all my goods to feed the poor or if I give my body to be burned a martyr oh I’m persecuted for Christ and that’s the way the church talks today though the liberals and and and and the humanists they’re just persecuting us and another taken to buy a lot of the schools and prayer out of the schools were suffering persecution for Christ if the American church does not have love.
▶ 37:36 We become as a clanging gong dying dying dying die. Very irritable they’re irritating drive you nuts and it benefits me nothing Paul said I get no benefit from it and I am nothing. Now listen he’s prophesying he’s helping the poor and Paul says I don’t care if you help the poor I don’t care if you prophesied I don’t care if you heal the sick you are nothing because you don’t have love. So which is the more excellent way love.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (NKJV)
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

About this transcript
This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: Points to check: Joel’s prophecy dated “over 800 years” before Acts, later “a hundred years”; 15 languages at Pentecost; healed of valley fever (personal). Sensitive content kept as spoken: Muslims and “Jesus only” groups, “he was a liar” remark about Islam (19:00); water baptism required for remission; resurrected body “with no blood”; “that shows you don’t have the Holy Ghost” if you don’t read the Bible; “forget the poor… are we doing good in our home.” Select any time to jump to that moment on YouTube.
