From the sermonThe First Eight Days of Jesus Christ 01/12/2020 · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

Pastor David G. Kincer looks at Jesus’ first days: circumcised and named on the eighth day, presented with the poor man’s offering, while the religious leaders who knew the prophecy did nothing. God was never interested in a building; the shadow laws pointed to the reality in Christ, and what God wants is a righteous life.

Where did Jesus spend His first 40 days?

▶ Watch this part (0:01)

Short answer: Centered around Herod’s temple, with its courts, altar, laver and holy place.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:01 Okay we’re gonna continue. Talking about the birth of Jesus Christ and Jesus is going to spend his first 40 days centered around this temple this is called Herod’s temple. My pointer is gone but there is the court of the Gentiles if you’re not a Jew you had to be out here and then there’s the women’s court which is very large. And. Then you got the men’s court called the israelis courtyard which is very small and then we have this big discussion about women today. It was obvious there was more women coming to the house of God back then and there was men.

▶ 0:59 And then you got of course the altar where they sacrifice the animals the laver where they washed their hands and their feet to go into the holy place and in the holy place there was the candlestick on the left side the seven spirits of God the table of showbread on the right side the unity of the body of Christ and then the altar of incense just before the holy of holies which is prayer and praise unto the Lord and then. The veil is written. And all of us now can go into the holy of holies where the word of God is and the presence of God is amen we don’t need somebody telling us we can go directly into God ourselves now and so Jesus is going to be focused around this temple for the next 40 days thank you sir. And. Just take note that this is a very small temple with the courtyards and the Gentile courts and all Jesus said go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come into my house so that my house may be full well.

Was God interested in a natural building?

▶ Watch this part (2:05)

Short answer: No. Not many people fit inside; God was never interested in a natural building.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:05 There’s not very many people going to fit in here at one time so the logic explanation is he never was interested in a natural building that’s just plain logical and why people believe he’s going to build another temple over in Israel just blows me away when the Bible says plainly he does not dwell in temples made but han. We don’t even understand the basic prophecies of the Bible you know we come up with these ideas and we repeat them so much we think they’re truth are you with me okay it’s obvious a natural temple is not going to fulfill the purposes of God can I hear an amen you’re not going to get billions of people into this temple let alone thousands now this gold there was more gold if I remember other accounts of this and this little rim but that gold will reflect from the sun all day long and these Jews worship this temple.

Do people worship buildings today?

▶ Watch this part (3:18)

Short answer: Yes. People want a nice building, lights and well-orchestrated music, basically to be entertained.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:18 Just like people today worship a nice building nice music we got to have psychedelic lights going on and well orchestrated music and all that and to be entertained basically in America right now when we go to church. That’s the same thing that you’ve had the building if they got building and today if they got a building they got our conditioning and a nursery and all the fine ingredients that makes my life comfortable then and and and I can feel the music then I’m just a bless. The same problem they had back there they literally worshipped this temple that God doesn’t dwell in. Alright so the first eight days of Jesus when eight days were accomplished for the circumcision of the child his name was called Jesus.

What did Mary and Joseph offer?

▶ Watch this part (4:15)

Short answer: A pair of turtledoves, the offering of the poor instead of a lamb.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:15 Jehovah saves. Which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb and they offered turtle doves and which in the Old Testament if you were poor instead of giving lambs and goats or or cows or whatever you could offer turtle doves and pigeons because you were poor so obviously mary and Joseph for what poor obviously the wise men have not came yet. Right because they brought gold frankincense and myrrh all were very valuable thing they could have afforded anything kind of sacrifice so the wise men aren’t there yet and besides they’re still in. Israel after the wiseman left they flew to Egypt okay so the wise men are not there yet now we all know that mary Joseph.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 2:24 (NKJV)

and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”

— Luke 2:24 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:15
Scripture (NKJV)

Leviticus 12:8 (NKJV)

‘And if she is not able to bring a lamb, then she may bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons—one as a burnt offering and the other as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.’ ”

— Leviticus 12:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:15

How did people respond to His birth?

▶ Watch this part (5:19)

Short answer: Zechariah, the shepherds and the wise men responded with rejoicing, praise, worship and gifts.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 5:19 Zechariah the shepherd’s the wise men all responded to Jesus’s birth with rejoicing like this morning praising worshiping and given gifts and when you had the response to step out and worship God that’s given him your gift amen. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise. Olu that is the fruit of your yeah giving thanks into his name amen can you say thank you Jesus yeah see even if you don’t want to it’s a sacrifice do it and things happen. But there were people who reacted differently Herod wanted to kill Jesus he didn’t want another king coming up that’s why Jesus had to flee into Egypt and the priests who Herod brought in now listen to me the priests and the scribes who knew the scriptures.

Did the religious leaders respond?

▶ Watch this part (6:26)

Short answer: No. They knew He would be born in Bethlehem and told Herod, but they didn’t go; people today can quote Scripture but don’t follow it.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:26 Who Herod brought in to find out where the king of the Jews were going to be born and they knew where Jesus was going to be born and they told Herod in Bethlehem out of Bethlehem of Judah shall come the ruler of your people amen and so the wise men left and we’re told by Herod to go down toward Jerusalem I mean Bethlehem we don’t know if they got to Bethlehem or not the scriptures doesn’t make that clear. But it’s a good assumption. But here’s the point the priest did not follow the wise men down there to see king Jesus they knew the scriptures and they didn’t go to worship him and praise him and give gifts unto him they were interested in religion they were leaders of religion but they were not leaders of Christ.

▶ 7:33 And we got the same thing today. People are very religious they know they can even quote scripture but they don’t follow them I. Had a person this week tell me I read the Bible and did nothing for me. Now tell me something brooke you ready to answer my question you and your friend in school do they grade you for reading a problem or do they grade you for exercising the problem. They do you have to do the problem or do they just give you an a for reading it yeah you see we think because we read the word hallelujah.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 2:4-6 (NKJV)

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’ ”

— Matthew 2:4-6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:26

Is reading the word enough?

▶ Watch this part (8:26)

Short answer: No. It’s not just whether you read the word but whether you exercise it, like obeying what dad tells you.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:26 Right it’s not if you read the word do you exercise the word. You got that back yes. See it’s not where you hear dad telling you what to do it’s do you exercise what dad tells you to do are you with me church that’s where the reward comes in that where the power comes in that’s where the light comes in you’re gonna read the Bible to doomsday and it won’t do you any good until you do what it says that’s a good clap offering under the Lord yes. There was a guy up in alaska oh my gosh time is oh my Lord it is 10:00 till 12:00 10:00 to 11:00.

▶ 9:21 No we can’t. We got kids in this we got kids in here. Should I give this story or not I guess I’ll have to pass all right. The woman’s courtyard is for a lot of this is going to go on and it’s the biggest courtyard by the way and I get sick of here and that women can’t do anything in the church and I’m arguing all week long with people who the women can’t speak women can’t rule go again this my gosh do you guys understand that from the first great awakening until the present time it was the women that went out to the missionary field it was a women that went out into the streets to get the beggars and the drunkards off the street that it was women.

▶ 10:15 Good grief look at the evidence instead of one little scripture that doesn t mean what they say it says it’s talking about the wife not a [unclear] authority over the husband and they say women can’t speak and women can’t do this and that let me tell you something you try to boss edie around and see what mr. Barnes does. She’s not under your submission I don’t care if you’re a male or not. Are you there hallelujah women don’t have to submit to men they are under the authority of their husband who has under the authority of Jesus Christ and if they’re not under the authority of Jesus Christ they don’t have much authority to say woman follow me do that yeah it works both ways now oh boy. A quick.

— James 1:22 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:26

Why is the Old Testament important?

▶ Watch this part (11:09)

Short answer: Those things were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 11:09 Review here everything that happened in the Old Testament happened and they were written they were what written for our admonition who’s our admonition upon the ends of the world are come are we at the ends of the world then everything in the Old Testament was written for our admonition can you say amen. These people that say the Old Testament is not for the day they don’t even understand this book. The thing that happened to in Cain and Abel happened for us to learn from the flood was for us to learn from Jonah was for us to learn from everything God could have recorded a lot more in the Old Testament but he only recorded the things that would benefit us in these last days can I hear amen.

Scripture in this part

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

— 1 Corinthians 10:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:09

Are we under the shadow laws?

▶ Watch this part (12:04)

Short answer: No. Let no one judge you in food, drink, holy days or Sabbaths; they were a shadow of things to come. We’re under the real laws.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 12:04 That Old Testament is important all right so let’s go let no man therefore judge you in meat or drink or in a holy day or the Sabbath of new moon’s and I got print over print here which of the shadow of things to come which are what shadow things to come look at this guitar. Boy it casts the shadow but not a good one. All right you can’t even see my shadow I can’t even see there anyway a shadow leads to the real thing the shadow is not the real thing okay it leads to the real thing you got that all right so all of these food things and holy days and Sabbath days and Saturday are all what a shadow of things to come Hebrews 8:5 says this temple was a shadow of the heavenly temple not the reality but the shadow of it and then it says the law is the shadow of good things to come the law when everybody will requite this thing we’re not under law we’re under grace I.

▶ 13:20 Get sick of hearing that excuse the law was what a shadow of good things to come so if I follow the shadow laws what do I find the real laws. Am I under the real laws yes I am am I under the ten commandments yes I am. I’m amazed how people take one little scripture and make a big doctrine out of it. And let me tell you this. The new covenant yeah if you don’t have your new covenant memorized you’re a lousy Christian you should know this new covenant I will put my wat in your minds in your heart laws I will put my laws in your word and in your heart and scribe them in fact now if he’s gonna put his laws in our mind and in our heart and inscribe them there and then tell us we’re not under law.

Scripture (NKJV)

Scripture (NKJV)

Hebrews 10:1 (NKJV)

— Hebrews 10:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:20

What was the problem with the shadows?

▶ Watch this part (14:29)

Short answer: They made a religion out of the shadows; God never intended the shadow laws to be kept forever.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 14:29 We’re not under shadow laws folks were under the real laws and that was the Jewish problem as they made a religion out of the shadows. Are you with me. When you appear before me who has required these things from your hand and Isaiah chapter one. Bring no more worthless sacrifices incense is an abomination to me new moon Sabbath feasts and the calling of the assemblies and the sacred meetings when they blew the trumpet. Everybody gather together if they were the trumpet why I thought I did it uh then the leaders came together if they brother trump in a different way than the armies came together and when they blew the trumpet another way the armies went forth to battle he said I’m sick of your sacred assemblies the trumpet you you you your work these things are worthless to me and he’s the one that told us to do them.

▶ 15:33 Why because they were a shadow the whole time he never intended for the people to keep the shadow laws. Are you there they were to look toward the reality that was coming we look back to the reality that came. Then that’s Jesus Christ who fulfilled them all amen hallelujah. My soul hates them there are troublesome to me I weary of bearing them Isaiah 1:12 through 16. Wash yourselves make yourself clean what does God really interested in you living a holy righteous life that was the purpose of the shadow laws in the Old Testament.

— Isaiah 1:12-13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:29

What did God really care about?

▶ Watch this part (16:25)

Short answer: Not killing animals but us living a righteous life for Him and being a light to the world.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:25 Let alone in the new can I hear an amen he don’t care about in since he never cared about killing animals he cared about us living for him a righteous life being a light to the world and people seeing our good works and bring an honor to God. Put away the evil of your doings before my eyes I don’t care about animals being sacrificed and incense being burned and all that I want you to put away your evil doings and the shadow laws pointed to that but we would rather like candles burn incense do some kind of physical thing. Cease to do evil learn to do good seek justice did we get the message this was written in work the Old Testament in the Old Testament God told him I’m not interested in the shadow’ laws they are there to bring you to a righteous life living in this world now is that an amen.
