From the sermonThe Fifth Group, Part 2 · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

Continuing The Fifth Group, Pastor David G. Kincer says God’s own people can bring His correction and are destroyed for lack of knowledge, while followers of Christ have great promises of protection (Exodus 15:26, Psalm 91, Luke 10:19). Using the book of Job he teaches that Satan is the destroyer, not God, and says the wise will understand what God is doing in the last days and must turn from sin, not only pray and worship.

Can God’s own people be evil and bring God’s correction? (Isaiah 30:10)

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: He says God’s people can be evil and bring God’s corrections, like the religionists who had Jesus and Paul killed. He reads Isaiah 30:10 where people want smooth, pleasant things and want to hear they will prosper and go to heaven “no matter how we live.”

They were harmful to innocent good people in Isaiah 30 verse 10 God speaks to Isaiah and says, the people say to you, do not prophesied to us right things, speak to a smooth thing, pleasant thing, nice thing, prophesize speak to us deceits just tell us lies tell us we’re all going to prosper tell us we’re all going to go to heaven no matter how we live because we are saved by grace and [unclear] come on speak to us nicely.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:10 Don’t tell us about right and wrong don’t tell us to do right what I want to hear. Hosea 4:6 and Isaiah 5:13. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge destroyed by war plague famine natural disaster because I’m lack of knowledge what knowledge that they’re supposed to live right and do right and not hurt themselves or hurt other people. My people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. And we have refugees all over the world because governments aren’t teaching right and the church is so flattering most of the church is so flattering.

Why do people only seek God when trouble comes? (Psalm 78:34-35)

▶ Watch this part (2:06)

Short answer: He reads that when God slew them they sought Him and remembered that God was their rock and redeemer, and says, “I don’t have to wait for him to beat me up.” He recalls hearing that there were no atheists in foxholes and that churches filled for three months after 9/11 before people went back to normal life.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:06 Christians that they’re okay just the way they are with grace and faith that there is no enthusiasm or motivation to do right. Psalm 78:34. When God slew them then they sought him, they returned and sought earnestly for God. When God slew them then they remembered that God was the rock and the most high God their redeemer man I’m glad I don’t have to come to God that way okay I can just hear the message respond to it and know that God is my redeemer I don’t have to wait for him to beat me up.

▶ 2:58 But this is what the scripture says and it’s true I remember my uncle who fought in the second world war he went into Berlin, to liberate Berlin, and he brought back artifacts and things from Berlin but I remember hearing him talking to other adults when I was like nine years old eight years old and he and the subject was about atheism and so forth and he said I never seen an atheist in the foxhole. When those bullets are flying over and those mortars are going off and all this is happening and planes is shooting at you from above and dropping bombs he says let me tell you everybody was praying and when the chaplain came and you had a break except for those that were on guard duty everybody was there they didn’t hear was a Catholic priest they didn’t care was a Protestant they were there and that’s stuck with me as a nine-year-old boy no atheists in foxholes.

▶ 4:06 When deaths on the line and death is that close and this is what this scripture says and you remember 911 when it happened here in America the churches for three months were filled people praying and then they just went back to the normal life I’m glad I don’t have to serve a God that I only go seek him when problems are around he is a God that I can talk to I can fellowship with he instructs me and lightens me he leads me and he guides me hallelujah and when problems come I can be like Peter do I can just go to sleep and wake up when the answer comes I don’t have to get on the 24-hour hotline I don’t have to plead the blood I don’t have to go on a 30-day fast I’m just serving God and he fits me into his plan amen.

What promises does God give His followers? (Exodus 15:26)

▶ Watch this part (5:09)

He reads God’s promise to put none of the diseases of Egypt on them, and says if we repent when He corrects us, He will restore us: “I’m the Lord thy God that heals you.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 5:09 Now there’s great hope and great promises to followers of Christ now I’m not talking about believers a lot of people believe in the Bible they believe that Jesus was a real person died on the cross I’m talking about followers they that obey they and we’re not perfect followers but we have a goal to achieve and please God and our behavior.

▶ 5:47 Tremendous hope tremendous expectation in the midst of this understanding that God correct citizens we have a tremendous door of hope and tremendous promises Exodus 15:26 I will put none of these diseases that I put up on the Egyptians I’ll put none of these diseases none of these academic epidemics on you holy I can go for that Lord I thank you for that yeah I accept that I don’t have to worry about aids I don’t have to worry about these things he says in Deuteronomy 15 I’ll take all sicknesses from you if you do mess up and I have to correct you if you repent if you call me and in your problem in your situation if you call on me and if you repent I’ll restore you back.

Do believers have power over all the power of the enemy? (1 John 4:18; Luke 10:19)

▶ Watch this part (8:56)

Who is the enemy we have power over? (1 Peter 5:8; Matthew 13:38)

▶ Watch this part (9:58)

Short answer: He says the enemy is Satan, who is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, and the tares are the children of the wicked one. He says they want to destroy our family and our nation, “that’s what Satan does he’s a destroyer.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:58 We’re talking about being protected from God’s correction. Now who is the enemy that we have power over Satan. Your enemy is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour okay and in the parable of the sower the tares were the children of the wicked one they’re our enemy the wicked our enemy they want to destroy our family if Satan wants to destroy our family that they want to destroy our nation that’s what Satan does he’s a destroyer okay and by the way, it isn’t God doing these things.

If God corrects nations, is God the destroyer, or Satan? (Isaiah 54:16)

▶ Watch this part (10:49)

Short answer: He says what God did was give permission for Satan to do it: “Satan is the destroyer.” He says Satan does God’s dirty work as the tempter, and “when God wants something difficult done he unleashes Satan.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:49 Now what do you mean it says right there God did it well that’s the way you read it but what God did was give permission for Satan to do it Satan is the destroyer he’s the one that wants you sick destroyed he’s the one to want you to go into war he’s the one who want you to sin and so when God wants to correct the Bible says he created the waster to what? Destroy. he created the destroyer to destroy Satan wasn’t an accident oh I’m messed up this angel fell into corruption he was created corruptly. Alleluia he does God’s dirty work he’s the tempter he’s the one that comes and tries to seduce you to do wrong that’s his job and he’s good at it and the only thing he knows to do is do everything he can to destroy you and so when God wants something difficult done he unleashes Satan and I can prove it in the book of Job.

What does the book of Job show about Satan and suffering? (Job 1:7-12)

▶ Watch this part (12:06)

Short answer: He says God initiated the conversation about Job, and Satan said God had a hedge around him, to show “that followers will follow God no matter if bad things or good things happen to them.” He says Satan used the same things God uses to correct, natural disasters, raiders and plague, “because the Bible says God can do no evil,” so “opponents stop blaming God.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 12:06 Satan came before God and God says, what do you been doing Satan well I’ve been running to and fro in the earth yeah I’m seeking whom he may devour that’s his job and God initiates the conversation and says have you considered my servant Job. Man, I was [unclear] then I go oh my God. And so Satan replies and says well yet but you gotta hedge around about it in that what we read we just read he’ll put no sickness is upon us notre we won’t even be afraid of the terror when it comes when it comes up on other people we’re not afraid let alone be affected by it are you there he says God you gotta hedge around him I can’t touch it do you take the head away and he’ll denounce you to your face you just yeah so God wanting to show Satan and all of mankind that followers will follow God no matter if bad things or good things happen to them yeah.

▶ 13:19 And here’s Job, he’s the guinea pig man everything’s going good he’s got a great family he’s wealthy everything is just oh so good he hadn’t done anything wrong and he turns Satan loose on him what does Satan use fire from heaven, a wind. Natural disasters to kill his kids to kill some of his herds he used the Sabeans, bands of raiders, [unclear] to come and take the sheep from the donkeys or whatever. See, those things that God uses to correct that’s what Satan did he used them and then Satan put the plague of boils on him the plague natural disasters war you got it are you out there.

Job 1:7-12 (NKJV)

And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

Who will understand what God is doing in the last days? (Daniel 12:10; Luke 24:45)

▶ Watch this part (14:24)

Short answer: He says none of the wicked will understand, but the wise shall understand that God is dealing with the nations, so if we obey His word “we can relax.” He says this understanding does not come through college or a seminar but by the Spirit of God, as Jesus opened the disciples’ understanding and then they were filled with power.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 14:24 You see Satan does God’s job because the Bible says God can do no evil God is good and there’s no evil in him so Satan was created to do this stuff. How are you I tried Lord I tried you need to know this stuff so opponents stop blaming God. God is a good God. Daniel 12:10 none of the wicked will understand talking about the end the time of the end none of the wicked will understand the wise shall understand what will the wise understand that God is dealing with the nations around the [unclear] we can relax if we’re obeying his work you see if we obey his word we follow him we can relax we know what’s supposed to happen and we know we’re going to win in the end and the wicked don’t understand it because this kind of understanding doesn’t come to college it doesn’t come through some seminar somewhere by some motivational speaker this kind of understanding comes by the spirit of God God himself Luke 24:45.

▶ 15:48 The disciples had been with him for three and a half years been taught by Jesus personally. Then after Jesus rose from the grave then Jesus opened their understanding that they might understand the scriptures and you couple this and experiencing God with the baptism the Holy Spirit that came in Acts 2 and you got a one-two punch that change those apostles for life their understanding was open and they were filled with power to be witnesses. Yeah and you never see them faltering. Never. And I submit to the church world we need understanding so we need to seek God we need to go to church we need to hear the word and we need to seek God and worship and in prayer to get him to open our understanding.

Does God’s word make us wiser than our enemies? (Psalm 119:98)

▶ Watch this part (16:51)

Short answer: He says God’s commandments make us wiser than our enemies, and people living a permissive life don’t understand that God brings correction: “Sin makes you stupid.” He says a good Bible study, church, prayer meeting and worship will progressively open your understanding.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:51 Alleluia because he said the wise will understand in the end they’ll understand what’s going on. Psalms 119 verse 98 your commandments made me wiser than my enemies. Hallelujah. See I’m not dying from aids I don’t have a sexually transmitted disease fifty percent of sexually active people in America have a sexually transmitted disease why because they don’t understand if you’re going to live a permissive life God’s going to bring correction and you would think that intelligent people would put two and two together and go hey the sexual revolution is not working but they don’t, why, because the Bible says the wicked don’t understand when your heart is wicked it is stupid.

▶ 17:51 Sin makes you stupid. But you get into a good Bible studying into a good church and into a good prayer meeting and a good worship meeting and you will progressively have your understanding opened by God himself. Hallelujah. Tremendous promise to God’s people. Elihu is an example of that in Job 32. Job’s comforters come down to talk to Job and they’re blaming Job, but he had sinned in his life that’s why this happen they’re so dumb they’re so baby level that they don’t understand that God’s in control and he can do anything he wants anytime he wants so they just blame Job, you’ve said you’ve done something wrong chapter after chapter they blame him and chapter after chapter Job stands his ground and

▶ 18:52 until you understand what’s going on, Job could be a very boring book but when you understand what’s going on all of a sudden that book jumps to life so anyway here’s the they’re all older than this guy he’s the youngest say keeps his mouth shut he says you know wisdom should be spoken by the aged and I kept my mouth shut he said I kept my mouth shut but Job you didn’t give an answer and you three knuckleheads you didn’t give an answer now I’m going to speak for wisdom is not always in the age an understanding isn’t always with the age but there’s a spirit in man and that spirit gives him wisdom and he said I got that spirit and I got that wisdom and I got the answer. Why were the Old Testament stories written? (1 Corinthians 10:11)

▶ Watch this part (19:44)

He says we have to open our mouths, speak it and live it, because God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:44 Yeah. Makes me wiser than my enemies wiser than the ancients those in the distant past. The word of God. 1 Corinthians 10:11 all things happen to them as examples all of the Old Testament stories all the Old Testament actions happened to those people as examples for us who are in the last day. They are written for our admonition. What admonition are we talking about this morning God correcting through war, plagues,

Is prayer and worship enough to heal our land? (2 Chronicles 7:14)

▶ Watch this part (21:56)

Short answer: He says “you can’t just pray and you can’t just worship”; turning from our sins is what will heal our land. He says churches are hyped up on music and the presence of God, but “having you know his presence is not his approval,” and we need “a new heart of repentance.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 21:56 Then I’ll hear from heaven you can’t just pray and you can’t just worship we are too much focused on worship and a prayer meeting and a 24-hour hotline and we’re not focused on repenting from our attitudes our sins because that’s what will heal our land if my people we got to pray we got a worship but we gotta turn and the only way to time is we get knowledge and we embrace that knowledge. The churches in America right now are just hyped up on music and the presence that God brings he brings it I visited other churches he’s there when they worship him because that’s a principle but having you know his presence is not his approval.

▶ 22:52 See. If I have a son doing wrong and I go to that son my presence is not taken as an approval I’ve come to correct. You get it but not in America we’re just so how hallelujah oh give us a new song out of Hillsong we need a fresh song the old ones are kind of worn out give us a new song you need to get a new heart of repentance hello there. Praise God. I submit to you that we can know what’s happening in the last days and we can relax because of what we know and we can be a source of change in this earth because of what we know.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added by hand, and obvious caption errors were corrected; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor note: the captions read “Hosea 46 and Isaiah 513” and “Psalm 78 34,” rendered Hosea 4:6, Isaiah 5:13 and Psalm 78:34. He gives “Deuteronomy 15” for “I’ll take all sicknesses from you”; that promise is Deuteronomy 7:15 (shown). He calls the parable with the tares “the parable of the sower”; the tares are in the parable of the wheat and tares (Matthew 13:38, shown). His figure that fifty percent of sexually active people in America have a sexually transmitted disease and his comments about groups and churches are his own and are not verified here. Several words are marked [unclear]. Select any time to jump to that moment on YouTube.
