Pastor David G. Kincer follows the Father’s business after Jesus was filled with the Spirit: led into the desert, tested by the devil, and returned in power. Testings work patience and show where we are. The early church prayed in unity, spoke with great power, rejoiced in persecution and grew as the word transformed people.

▶ 0:00 After Christ is filled with the Holy Ghost the next business venture to fulfill all righteousness. Is. He was led by the Holy Ghost to the desert. The dry parched desert. To be tested of the Devil for 40 days and we have the last ending of that testing when Satan came and said if you’re the son of God make these stones bread because he had he had been fasting. And Jesus who knew he was the son of God. Remember Satan’s a liar and the father of lies said man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God so Satan takes him to a high part of the temple and tells him jump off because if you’re the son of God God’s not gonna let any harm come to you and Satan quoted scriptures to him and Jesus.

How did Jesus answer Satan?

▶ Watch this part (1:15)

Short answer: He knew He was the Son of God and said, you shall not test the Lord your God, even when shown the riches of the nations.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:15 Knew he was a son of God and just told him thou shalt not test the Lord your God and so he took him on a high place where he could see all the nations of the world and the riches and the wealth and the permissiveness of the nations and said hey you worship me and I’ll give you the riches I’ll give you all these things the nations have but Jesus who knew he was the son of God. Said Satan it is written thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and only him shall you serve well that’s the last three tests that we know of and Jesus conquered the testings now there were no crowds out there in the desert and let me tell you when you’re going through your deserts you’re not gonna have a lot of friends.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 4:5-12 (NKJV)

Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’ ”

Do people only love success?

▶ Watch this part (2:16)

Short answer: People love you when God is using you; in a dry time they go find someone else.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:16 People like success we’re gear for success I mean if you’re prophesying in the church and God used you know that man people just love you you go through a dead time a dry time and there go they want to find somebody else it’s got to life am I right yeah there was no crowds out there in the desert and where was the play first place the Holy Ghost took him not to do miracles not to preach the gospel but to what pass the test. Are you with me then when he came out of that wilderness and there in that wilderness remember Jesus experienced all the affections all the passion all the desires that we do. Without sin so he knows he can stand before the father and he can plead our case because he understands mankind he came in the flesh aren’t you glad of that yeah.

How did Jesus come out of the desert?

▶ Watch this part (3:21)

Short answer: He went in full of the Spirit and returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, without sinning for 40 days.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:21 And he did it without sinning for 40 days in Luke 4:14 Jesus returned in the power the spirit the Galilee folks he went into the desert in the power of the spirit and he came out of the desert in the power the spirit. And. Fame of Jesus went to all the regions around about in Matthew 5:1 it said great multitudes came to him. Great multitudes came to him for two things they wanted to hear what he had to say and they wanted themselves or people they knew to be healed of physical afflictions. In that a good reason to come to Jesus today we need to hear what he’s saying and if we have any kind of affliction whether it be physical spiritual emotional mental he can’t heal us.

▶ 4:33 We got to decide what kind of church were going to be you know we’re small enough now you don’t have to worry about offending anyone. If somebody does something out of order and all that we can deal with you’re not to worry about offending anybody remember Gideon had to let thousands on ten thousands go and God chose 300 to conquer a mighty army. So don’t get down when things get low attendance just realize that God can show himself supernaturally the Bible says he can say by many or he can say by fear. But we got to seek him just like these people did.

Does Jesus pray for us in testing?

▶ Watch this part (5:27)

Short answer: Satan asked to sift Peter like wheat, but Jesus prayed that his faith fail not, and He intercedes for us now.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 5:27 Peter Jesus said Satan has to sift you like wheat but I’ve prayed for you that your faith fail not sift you like wheat they would take the wheat and they would beat it. To separate it from the stalk and from the outer covering and so Satan wanted to beat the not to not for good for bad he wanted to destroy Peter. But look at this look at that this is very important and he wants to destroy you. Jesus said what I have prayed for you that your faith fail not see Satan wanted to destroy peters faith in Christ. But Jesus says I prayed that your faith fail not that’s what Satan wants to do he wants to destroy your faith your commitment your love for Jesus Christ.

▶ 6:25 And it’s so powerful now remember Jesus is up in heaven interceding on our behalf right now before the father and not what Revelation says yes now he prayed for Peter and Jesus knew his prayer was so powerful and would be answered that he said this statement when you turn back not if you turn back you’re gonna fail Peter you’re gonna deny me three times and you’re gonna go back fishing and you know he says when you turn back when you come to your senses. Strengthen your brethren amen. How many have lost their senses before in your christianity had to come back yes that’s because Jesus is prayer he’s not letting go of anybody he is interceding for you and his prayer is so powerful that he knows the outcome you’re gonna come to your senses and when you do encourage the brethren strengthen the brethren go to church to provoke one another to love and to good works ah help your brethren could that be an amen.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 22:31-32 (NKJV)

And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Can Satan stop God’s work?

▶ Watch this part (7:38)

Short answer: Satan hindered Paul but couldn’t stop him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 7:38 Now. Paul said we desired to come to you [unclear] the Thessalonians but Satan hindered us that’s in first Thessalonians 2:18 Satan hindered but couldn’t stop because Paul 40 years later wrote another letter to the people the church in thessalonica and he said when I was with you so he might have been hindered but he wasn’t stopped to reach in the goal and you may be hindered but Satan cannot stop you from reaching the goal this is how powerful this thing is and of course the testings of your faith works patience that you may be perfect and entire complete lacking nothing so joy over every different test that you go through.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Thessalonians 2:18 (NKJV)

Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us.

— 1 Thessalonians 2:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:38

What do testings produce?

▶ Watch this part (8:39)

Short answer: Patience, and when patience has its complete work you are complete, lacking nothing. Testings show what level you are at so you can change.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:39 We don’t look at it that way do we oh my here we are again. You see these testings works patience and when patience has its a complete work you’re going to be complete and entire lacking nothing could ever be an amen see testing is to show you what level you’re at so you can go to the next level man I’m weak in this area I got it I gotta get into the word I got to get into God I got a I got a move up a level he doesn’t come to show you how weak you are so you give up he comes to show you what level you are so you can grow up.

▶ 9:23 Yeah that was a bell ringing statement right there it’s all in how you look at it’s all how you understand testings come to show you what level of christianity you are at so you can change it not give up and that’s scripture there is no temptation our tests come upon man that’s not common that God will not with the tests the temptation make a way of escape that you can bear up under you can handle it why because he wants to show you what you can handle and Satan can never come and test you with what you can’t handle remember they had favor with everybody and everybody was afraid of them remember we read that well that didn’t last very long.

▶ 10:16 You think people are gonna like you boy we like it when people likes us but when people don’t like us oh we don’t like that we don’t like people not liking us they actually feared the church at the beginning but just a short period of time went by they realized they were in a war with light versus darkness right versus wrong darkness and wrong are opposing what’s right religious and civil leaders opposed and the persecution. The mistreatment begins. Peter and John healed a lame man and spoke Jesus to the people when he healed the lame man at the gate beautiful the people go wow man and they’re they’re jazzed about this so Peter stood up and preached to them and 5,000 people believed and got baptized that day 5,000.

▶ 11:15 So we got eight thousand people just shortly recorded that plus thousands as are added every day. The priests including the high priest the temple captain including some Sanhedrin and the Sadducees the Sadducees were sad you see because they didn’t believe in spirits they didn’t believe in life after death they didn’t believe in angels and that’s why they were sad you see. They were grieved that they taught the people through Christ Jesus the resurrection from the dead they didn’t believe in a resurrection and believe in angels or anything like that and so they arrested them and when you go against traditional religion they’re not gonna like you.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

James 1:2-4 (NKJV)

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

— James 1:2-4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:39

Why did the leaders marvel at the apostles?

▶ Watch this part (12:13)

Short answer: They were unlearned men who had not gone to the leaders’ schools, but they had been with Jesus.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 12:13 So these Sadducees in these temple leaders took knowledge and marvelled that the apostles were unlearned and ignorant men what they meant was they didn’t go to the Sadducee [unclear] or a Sadducee university or the Pharisee university or the gration university he rode in university all these Jewish. Denominations they didn’t go there to their to their college. To learn the word and all that and learn their human doctrine and so they called them ignorant men but they also took knowledge that they had been with Jesus they were with. The Jesus university professor Jesus was t in them directly are you that and the professor Jesus teaches you right where you go wrong is when you listen to how men interpret scriptures instead of Jesus telling you what they say.

▶ 13:16 That was a good statement. People would just believe what they’re been told instead of going to Jesus this is why it’s important that all mankind. Hear Jesus I. Guarantee you you spend time with Jesus and to the time in this word spend time with Jesus through worship through prayer and all that you will amaze people too with the knowledge he will give you. Hallelujah. They threatened the apostles to speak no more about Jesus so what the apostles do they go right back to the converts they go right back to the temple there in the temple there in the temple there right here they are they’re getting judged and threatened they come right out into the courtyards where all the converts were simple together praising God hallelujah.

How did the church pray?

▶ Watch this part (14:17)

Short answer: Eight thousand or more lifted their voice in unity and prayed one prayer; the place was shaken.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 14:17 And they told him what happened and all of the crowd now we got eight thousand people or more praying in unity they prayed one prayer in unity folks that’s called praying in the spirit. Hardly anywhere in the Bible do you see a whole group pray in one prayer but they did here and in that prayer was Lord grant that we can speak the word of God with confidence and that signs and wonders be done that was their prayer and this whole thousands of people were praying one prayer I mean that’s a visitation of God.

▶ 15:03 Now doesn’t mean that we all got to come in and pray one prayer remember the word prayer back there was they thank God they worship God in that and so you’re praying together but you’re praying individually so don’t get caught in these numbskulls that say you know it’s out of order praying out loud together you can pray when you’re praising him when you’re loving him when you’re thinking him all of us can pray audibly at the same time could that be an amen but this is unusual they’re all printing the same prayer wow and then the place shook now they’re at the temple so here’s the Sadducees and the high priests and all that right here and the place shook so the Sadducees and the end of high priests again shook. That whole place is being shaken.

▶ 15:58 And they could feel it and they could see what was going on in the outer court. By the way that lame man was healed right here at the gate beautiful the entryway into the inner court that’s where the lame man was healed. Right in front of everybody. Number three all of them were filled and some had already been filled with the Holy Ghost so they were refilled with the Holy Ghost it’s okay to have more than one experience with the Holy Ghost is that a good amen yes and we need more we need more. All spoke the word of God with confidence what was their prayer Lord grant to us that we can speak the word of God with confidence and all 8,000 people were speaking the word of God with confidence they weren’t timid about it they weren’t speaking in tongues this time they were speaking in their language the word of God.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Acts 4:24-31 (NKJV)

So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things? The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the LORD and against His Christ.’ “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

What came with great power?

▶ Watch this part (17:05)

Short answer: With great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection, and great grace was upon them all.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 17:05 And they would like a visitation like that every hand should have went up we need to get out of the way and he needs to get in the way amen. Well God gave him the prayer and with great power the apostles gave witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ so a lot of people were saved he was given witness of the death burial and resurrection of Christ for the forgiveness of sin and people were getting transformed and born again and great grace was upon them all great grace strong grace not favor divine enablement divine power grace has two meanings one is favor the other and that’s the weak one. The other one is divine enablement.

Did the apostles do signs and wonders?

▶ Watch this part (17:58)

Short answer: Yes, many signs and wonders among the people, and believers were added, multitudes of men and women.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 17:58 Divine power and great strength great grace was upon them all all 8,000 in that beautiful. Going to chapter 5 verse 14 the apostles did many signs and wonders among the people they asked for signs and wonders they got signs and wonders they asked to speak the word of God with confidence they got it they got what they asked for because they were praying in the spirit every one of them on when you get thousands of people praying in the spirit it’s the spirit giving you the prayer that’s why the Bible says to pray in the spirit get out of yourself and your little personal likes and wants and let the spirit start praying and things happen are you with me powerful and they were wanting in one accord on Solomon sports this is Solomon sports right here it goes around all the way around you look down that’s why Peter could them could preach from up here and they could see everything that’s going on so they were in unity in the temple now folks that’s like going to the vatican and in that courtyard of the back end and start doing this stuff I mean they were invading the Jewish religion.

▶ 19:27 Now you got to have something to do that you can’t just go in there on your own that’s got to be backed up by God himself can I hear an amen yes. Now I don’t know if you seen this outpouring in second chapter of x like it really is because most people just take little nuggets out of it and they don’t teach the whole thing but this went on daily daily daily daily for a long time. Multitudes in chapter five were added to the Lord in that the whole purpose Christ came to save sinners both men and women now why is he keep talking about women why do they keep stating women because the Jews pray this prayer Lord thank you that I’m not a heathen and I thank you that I’m not a woman that was their prayer.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Acts 5:12-14 (NKJV)

And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,

— Acts 5:12-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:58

Were women counted in the early church?

▶ Watch this part (20:23)

Short answer: Yes. Women were low in the Jewish religion, but multitudes of men and women were added.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 20:23 Women was subservient women was way down here in the Jewish religion because men were chosen mostly by God in the Old Testament the Jewish males be you know started interpreting in a women can’t do anything. But in Christ Jesus there’s what. No bond no free no male no female no rich no poor were all equal in God and that’s why this the scriptures keep repeating women he shouldn’t have to say that but it’s because of the Jewish outlook on women and there are churches today that have that look on women are you that. Now. The apostles were imprisoned by the same angry Jewish leaders and released by an angel the angel came and took him out of prison so where did they go right back to the court heart and started preaching the gospel so they were arrested again and they were beaten and forbidden to speak about Jesus now what did the apostles do.

How did they respond to persecution?

▶ Watch this part (21:34)

Short answer: They rejoiced that they were counted worthy and taught Jesus Christ daily in the temple.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 21:34 They rejoiced just like it said rejoice when different tests come and they taught Jesus Christ daily where in the temple. Right where the Sadducees these high priests and the and Jewish priests where and and all these religious leaders they were right there and they’re out in their front yard preaching Jesus Christ. And. They went house-to-house when the temple closes the doors they went house-to-house they didn’t stop preaching and that shows you that they didn’t sell their houses. Again that’s twice house to house they didn’t sell their houses to give to the poor they sold their investment they sold their extra stuff are you there no communal stuff we want to bring our ideas into the church and we want to find scriptures to twist to to back it up and that communal living is one of them.

Scripture (NKJV)

Acts 5:41-42 (NKJV)

So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

What made the church grow?

▶ Watch this part (22:39)

Short answer: The word of God increased and multiplied, and even priests became obedient to the faith.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 22:39 The early church did not live in a communal living they lived in their own houses the number of disciples multiplied including the priests and the word of God increased now the priests are starting to get tainted by the new message the very priest that stood against him and imprisoned him and had him beaten now the priests are starting to come to Christ is that worth taking a beating for is that worth being mistreated for. These Jewish priests are turning to Christ. Alleluia powerful powerful but look at this I haven’t highlighted as the musicians come the word of God increase. Did you catch that the word of God increased.

▶ 23:38 How many people do you know that come back from church talking about how the word changed their life or do they talk about how the singer was beautiful and the worship was inspirational and the pastor is such a good man and my denomination is the best of all I’ve only. Are you there how many times have you heard someone leave their service and talk about the power of the word of God. Are you getting the hint these people because of the response to Christ the word of God increase that means it grew stronger and stronger it was enlarging it was growing.

What did new believers do with their magic books?

▶ Watch this part (24:35)

Short answer: They burned them. Don’t pass them on or sell them; destroy it and get it out of your life.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 24:35 It started out at baby stuff but now it’s a powerful strong word of God. Are you hearing this now. Going over 13 more chapters to chapter 19 many believed the preaching they burned their books they had books of sorcery they burned their books because they didn’t want any body I didn’t want to sell the books and they didn’t want to be tempted with the books they got rid of their sin they got rid of the magical books the sorcery books today we need to get rid of playboy books we need to get rid of marks communism books and I write yes we if you’re that you should tear up the socialist books of cominis books the atheist books you should the evolutionist book you should to burn up.

▶ 25:41 Don’t pass them on or sell them destroy it get it out of your life could that be an amen hallelujah. That’s how powerful the word is growing the word is transforming people on the spot. And. The word increased powerfully and prevail didn’t Jesus say I’m going to build a church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it what is defeating the gates of hell the word not man’s teaching. Not men’s opinion the word of God is what’s destroying the gates of hell and the word of God is prevailing people are instantly being transformed and given up their old life of sin and I submit to you if Jesus can heal the sick raise the dead open blinded eyes walk on water feed a multitude with a few loaves and fishes.

Can God heal any sin?

▶ Watch this part (26:49)

Short answer: Yes, he says He can heal same-sex sin, adultery and drug and alcohol abuse, without step procedures.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 26:49 He can heal same-sex sin he can heal adultery sin he can heal drug and alcohol abusers and users he can heal him is that an amen they did not have a seventh step or twelve step or twenty step procedure they had one step procedure the Holy Ghost came with the word of God and the word and the power the Holy Ghost transformed people and changed them. And we got to get psychology out of the church and get the power of the word in. We got to quit honoring preachers and churches and singers and whatever musicians and we got to start honoring the word and letting the word change people’s life and the Holy Ghost empowered them could that be an amen but they had to seek God.
