The Blessing— September 12, 2021: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
A younger speaker teaches that God’s blessings of fruit, peace and protection in Leviticus 26 come with a condition: if you walk in His statutes and keep His commandments. Abimelech, Zechariah and Elizabeth, and Daniel show the blessing; Judas and Ananias show the curse. He urges fighting for God’s law in the nation, tells Walt Heyer’s story, and closes with 2 Chronicles 7:14 and communion.

What is prayed before the message?
Short answer: For resurrection power that transforms, to rise and not stay dead in sin, and to be better Christians than yesterday.
▶ 28:43 Changes. Oh Jesus we come before you this morning God we pray that you would walk into the room Jesus Lord God Lord that we would hear your voice Jesus have a chance to respond. God Lord we pray for that resurrection power Lord that does the transformation Jesus Lord give us power to rise with you God Lord not stay dead in sin but Lord Jesus to rise up God Lord Jesus we pray and we ask for your powerful presence your powerful word God to stir our hearts God Lord to be better Christians than we were yesterday. Jesus Jesus you there’s so much hope in you God.
How can a nation, family or individual be blessed?
Short answer: Not by a seed offering or Christian radio; the promise of blessing in Leviticus 26 is fruit, bread, peace and protection.
▶ 29:38 Lord God I pray that you come come in this room right now Jesus. In your precious name. Everyone said. You may find your seats this morning. The blessing this morning we’re gonna get right into the word and how important it is like we’re just praying about having commitment toward Christ. And how important Jesus is in all of this and his voice and his word. So how can a nation be blessed how can a family be blessed how can an individual be blessed and how can the church in America and a church be blessed. Is it revival is it prayer is it wealth is it government.
▶ 30:34 Is it a seed offering and other things that you can think about listening listening to the Christian radio or having good friends what how can a nation an individual a church a family be blessed. And we have a promise of blessing in Leviticus chapter 26 verse 4 says that you’ll have plenty of fruit. Produce and bread and of course we need the bread of life that is Jesus Christ we need his word to grow as Christians and also in your natural life you need fruit and produce and food to eat so that you can sustain your body. It says that this promise of blessing goes on it says that we will dwell safely and there will be safety where you where you live naturally and both spiritually you’re not afraid of Satan you’re not afraid that you’re going to leave God or or you’re scared or something like that you’re not afraid at all the kingdom of darkness right amen.
Scripture in this part
Leviticus 26:4-6 (NKJV)
then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.
— Leviticus 26:4-6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 30:34What blessings does God promise?
Short answer: Peace in the land and home, ridding the land of evil beasts, and keeping the sword from you.
▶ 31:39 There’s a blessing. You’re not afraid. It’s good get he will give peace and we want peace in our country we want peace in our home we want peace in our lives in our spiritual man in the church. That would be wonderful. If all of us could speak and agree and unite. Around truth we want peace. Peace is one of the fruits of the spirit. He says I will rid the land of evil beasts. And uh you know we got homes these days so you know there’s nothing running around trying to grab you around here but in other nations God can help. Those that are poor and don’t have American situations like we have you got to remember God is the God of everyone.
▶ 32:36 And also we have you know organizations that have tons of money they can invest and advertise their message of sin and they can pour. They can spend money on magnificent buildings and look like they are just so wonderful but really they are passing on and promoting evil. And so God will help us in that case he keep the sword from you and of course we don’t want God’s judgment on our land naturally and spiritually when you stand when you stand before God you want to say you want him to say well done my good and faithful servant amen. You will chase your enemies and when he’s talking about you here he is talking up to the Israelites the people of God and he’s talking to the church in this blessing you will chase your enemies.
Scripture in this part
Leviticus 26:6 (NKJV)
I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.
— Leviticus 26:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 31:39Is the church on the run?
Short answer: He feels we’re running, but God promises five shall chase a hundred and your enemies shall fall before you.
▶ 33:33 Right now I feel like we’re a little bit on the run right we’re running. We’re not chasing anyone five of you shall chase a hundred hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight talking like the the strength and the the abilities that Samson had he had unnatural strength God’s supernatural strength and when we do what it takes to get God’s blessing this is this is how his promise. Your enemies shall fall by the sword before you the church’s enemies your God will protect his church this is his promise. He goes on to say he’ll make you fruitful multiply you and confirm his covenant with you Leviticus chapter 26 verse 9.
Scripture in this part
Leviticus 26:7-8 (NKJV)
You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.
— Leviticus 26:7-8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 33:33What does it mean for God to establish His covenant?
Short answer: To make us fruitful, set His tabernacle among us and walk among us as our God.
▶ 34:26 He’ll make you fruitful as spiritually we need to grow in the fruits of the spirit amen. We want God’s church to multiply amen we want more people to come in and find Christ and know God and he’ll establish his covenant with you. When you think about a road tomorrow if you’re going to work and you have to drive on the road you know you think oh well I’m going to go down this road and this road and that’s how I’m going to get to work well you can only go down the road because it’s established. It’s fixed it’s not moving you can count on it and that’s the way we want with God’s covenant we don’t want a monthly subscription we want a lifetime membership with God’s covenant that we can count on it tomorrow we’re not wishy-washy Christians we have God’s covenant for our lifetime.
▶ 35:25 We want him to establish that covenant with us set his tabernacle amongst us when they set in the Old Testament when the tabernacle was being taken from place to place when they stopped the presence of God would come and rest on the tabernacle and people from uh strangers from everywhere they would look and they would see the cloud during the day and at night it would turn into a pillar of fire and they’re just looking and they’re like holy mackerel what is that. I mean this is something. Amazing and when you see when God puts his tab set like that song says touching heaven changing earth when heaven comes down to his church on earth something it’s a miraculous thing you know when he sets his tabernacle amongst us and that’s what we want God to do.
Scripture in this part
Leviticus 26:9-12 (NKJV)
‘For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you. You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new. I will set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.
— Leviticus 26:9-12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 34:26How do you obtain the blessing?
Short answer: Every promise is prefaced with “if you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments”; the church must abandon the fake stuff.
▶ 36:19 I will walk among you and be your God I’d rather have God walking among me than some on the other side of the planet amen. He’s around he’s looking out for you he cares about your growth he cares about protecting he’s around he’s walking around. Making sure hey don’t do that leave that guy alone. So we have this promise of blessing and how do you obtain the blessing. Is it some seed offering to a minister on the radio you know you can come up with all kinds of ways or thoughts how do I get this blessing. And Leviticus puts it very plainly at the beginning he says if you walk in my statutes and keep my commands. And perform them see this is how simple God is.
▶ 37:15 If you want all these blessings everything I just quoted to you a few minutes ago all were prefaced with this statement if you walk in my statutes. And keep my commandments and perform them then he’s going to do these things. And see that’s so powerful is so important you know if the church in America would abandon. The fake stuff. Would stop making excuses for our sin. And say you know what it’s wrong I need to make an adjustment I need to grow so that I can walk in his statutes and keep his commandments. The church in America and the church worldwide needs to have such great conviction. To do this this is important to Christ this is important to God this is this is top stuff you know the ten commandments isn’t just a you know you know.
Scripture in this part
Leviticus 26:3 (NKJV)
‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them,
— Leviticus 26:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 37:15Are the Ten Commandments just for kids?
Short answer: No; they are for adults, leaders and government. God can’t rain blessings on a church that rejects His commandments.
▶ 38:19 God’s top ten it’s a great song by the way. But it’s not just for kids. It’s for adults it’s for leaders it’s for government it’s for everyone. It’s very important. It’s not just kitty stories it’s we need to apply it so that God can bless us he can’t sit around and and reign blessings on the church when they reject his commandments reject his statutes everything that he’s put in place. And then we want the blessing it doesn’t work like that. So if prayer is not bringing you to walk in his commandments. You got a problem.
What should worship do?
Short answer: Bring you to walk in His commandments: touch God, hear His word and respond.
▶ 39:12 If worship does not bring you to walk in his commandments and worship is an opportunity for us to praise God and where he will fight for us it says he will still [unclear] destroy the enemy and the avenger I mean when you when you live for Christ there are some things that he does for you it’s not just you know he needs his praises. Worship is a time to hear touch God hear his word and respond to it so important so there must be a transition am I just worshiping and hearing some awesome music to entertain myself to have a good time you know am I getting my worship on get my worship on. What is a worship the worship has. It has a goal worship has a goal.
▶ 40:09 So you can touch God so you can hear what he has to say to you. And so you can respond and make that adjustment I’ve experienced it many times and we all have where God will come during a song and he’ll just bring that presence whether it’s love whether it’s conviction whether it is just whatever you need at that time. Amen. And that’s and God is trying to grow you to a place where you can come to a place where you are following his commandments. Fear God amen. So it’s not complicated. And this is so important it’s not complicated the world needs to know the church right now needs to know it’s not complicated it’s simple. We’ve got to follow his commandments if we want a blessing in our country we’ve got to follow his commandments.
How often must we obey?
Short answer: Diligently, a consistent daily thing; Jesus said if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.
▶ 41:06 There must be a transition so how do you obtain the blessing goes on to say in Deuteronomy 28 verse 1 I’m just going to share a few more scriptures that can confirm this if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord so he puts it a different way not just following his commandments once it’s diligently it’s a consistent daily thing a weekly thing it’s something you do and we’re working on all the time. To observe carefully all his commandments which I command you today the Lord will set you high above all the nations of the earth you see there are rewards. There is a blessing. When we follow these things. All these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey I mean he he confirms it verse 1 verse 2 he’s confirming what he’s saying saying the same thing in Matthew chapter 19 verse 17 Jesus Christ read letters and as we learned have been learning everything is red letter right.
Scripture in this part
Deuteronomy 28:1 (NKJV)
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
— Deuteronomy 28:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 41:06Matthew 19:17 (NKJV)
So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
— Matthew 19:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 42:15What does Abimelech’s story show?
Short answer: God withheld him from sinning because he feared God and did right; God protects righteous nations.
▶ 42:16 But you know this when Jesus was on the earth in the flesh. These are the words he spoke in Matthew 19 verse 17 if you want to enter into life. You want to have a good life you want to have peace you want to have that joy you want to have that life keep the commandments this is Jesus himself saying this. So what’s the proof. We’re going to look back at Genesis chapter 20 verse 2. The story of Abimelech. King Abimelech and I want to point out that he was king does anybody know what he was king of real quick if you know rita she’s going to shout out he was king of gerar but later on it says he is the king of the Philistines. Can you believe that. King of the Philistines.
▶ 43:09 And I’m going to show why that’s important in a moment he took Sarah. Abraham came to the land he said this is my sister the king sent and took Sarah and God came to him in a dream and he said you are a dead man. Talk about threats. Imagine getting that dream. Wake up. And he starts to. Have his debate with God not debate but this conversation he says Lord will you slay a righteous nation a right what a righteous nation. In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this see in his mind he didn’t do anything wrong he didn’t know because they didn’t know it was his wife and he was just you know hey let’s go on a date.
▶ 44:10 Oh I’m sorry I didn’t show the scripture and God’s reply was. I also withheld you from sinning against me I did not let you touch her restore his wife and you shall live so God came to you know he didn’t say you got you’re not a righteous nation shut up. He says. Because you have shown fear of God because you have respected. What is right. And done right things. I have withheld you from sinning against me it’s very important and it’s powerful can you believe that the philistine the king of the Philistines who later was fighting Israel in the days of David.
▶ 45:02 Way back here in Abraham’s day they were living a life that was right. That’s powerful. And God kept them from judgment and warned them and he responded right and restored back Abraham’s wife see God’s not going around to righteous nations and and judging he he has. He blesses those righteous nations he is looking out for his righteous people whether you’re a nation a family a church or a people God is looking out for you and wants to bless you. If you’re following his commands. So God stepped in so leaders and government individuals and homes are willing to heed God’s word can be kept from judgment this is very important.
Scripture in this part
Genesis 20:2-7 (NKJV)
Now Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, “Indeed you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife.” But Abimelech had not come near her; and he said, “Lord, will You slay a righteous nation also? Did he not say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she, even she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and innocence of my hands I have done this.” And God said to him in a dream, “Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her. Now therefore, restore the man’s wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”
— Genesis 20:2-7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 43:09How was Pharaoh different?
Short answer: When Pharaoh took Sarah there was no dream or warning; God came with plagues.
▶ 45:58 Now in Genesis 12 the same thing happened with Pharaoh this happened twice Abraham went to Egypt. And Pharaoh took Sarah. There was no dream. There was no God warning them it was God came with what plagues. And Pharaoh and Egypt you know the leaders they start getting plagued like what is going on what and somehow they found out and they said get this guy out of here give his wife back. You know it was different and I’m just I’m pointing that out it was different for Egypt there was no claim from Pharaoh that they were a righteous nation. And God approached them differently.
▶ 46:52 But you see when Abimelech claim you know I I’ve been doing what’s right I fear you God God stepped in and that’s what we want amen I’d rather have a warning from God or or a good nation or a good home or a good person I’d rather have a warning from God before he brings his judgment down amen that’s a blessing. Now I also want to point out here and take a moment this is a side track issue but I think it’s very important Genesis chapter 20 verse 9 what have you done to us how have I offended you this is Abimelech talking to Abraham and down at the bottom it says what. What did you have in view that you have done this thing and Abimelech is asking Abraham why. Did you deceive us what is wrong with you.
Scripture in this part
Genesis 12:17 (NKJV)
But the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.
— Genesis 12:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 45:58 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What do Zechariah and Elizabeth teach?
Short answer: They waited, still lived righteously and blamelessly, and God heard their prayer; you may not get the blessing tomorrow.
▶ 47:45 As mrs gomez would say you knucklehead. And this is what his response was because I thought. Surely the fear of God is not in this place. And that struck me because sometimes you think people aren’t going to respond. People aren’t willing to hear God’s word people have no respect or fear of God but that’s not for you to decide. You’ve got to give people an opportunity. To respond. To God’s word to God to the fear of God you know you stan Abraham could have stood up there said this is my wife and that whole nation could have been against him but at least you know he could have told the truth and we can come to to people with the truth and say this is what the scriptures say repent turn your sins are going to take you to hell it’s the truth.
▶ 48:50 And there are some people that are going to reject it but some will respond like a bim elected and say. Okay and respond right amen. Zacharias and Elizabeth in Luke chapter 1 verse 5 they were both righteous before God walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless and they were older. And an angel of the Lord appeared to him. And said do not be afraid zacharias for your prayer is heard your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son and you shall call his name John so here I’m pointing out right now we have an old couple they’re a family they’re married they don’t have any kids and they have been waiting a long time we don’t like to wait I don’t like to wait.
▶ 49:52 My family knows when they are with me and you know and we’re not at church I am a little impatient. But they had to wait. And they had to settle in and just say okay we’re not going to have kids it’s not going to happen but we’re still going to serve God anyway and they still lived righteous they walked in his commandments and they lived blamelessly amen and God came to this couple and the angel came to them to Zechariah said your prayer is heard how many guys want your prayers heard I want my prayers heard. Oh finally you heard my prayer it’s been like 50 years. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son and you shall call his name John. So talk about a blessing here I mean.
▶ 50:49 You may not get the blessing tomorrow. Okay you put you follow his commandments follow his word and you’ll come out on top. At some point. Maybe not tomorrow maybe not in a week it’s going to take some time but you will be way better off. God looking out for you amen I mean when you think about Peter and Paul and the apostles they had to go in prison they had you know they were persecuted there’s going to be that persecuting but God gave them peace gave them joy through that all of that and see that’s so important we’re not just you know when the natural blessings aren’t there we can have those spiritual blessings amen or at least you know that you were standing up for truth at least you know you have peace I have you know in my conscience I have peace for the things I’ve stood up for I’m not going to be wrestling with that anymore I’m not going to be wrestling I should have I have peace.
Scripture in this part
Luke 1:6 (NKJV)
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
— Luke 1:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 48:50 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Luke 1:13-16 (NKJV)
But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.
— Luke 1:13-16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 49:52 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Can one young person follow God alone?
Short answer: Yes; Daniel purposed in his heart, and God gave him favor and wisdom ten times better than the magicians.
▶ 51:59 And you can have peace when we follow his commandments and so it goes on to say in Luke you will have joy and gladness you’ll be great he will be great in the sight of the Lord he will fill with the Holy Spirit we’re talking about John the baptist. He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord of God so you have this great blessing here because these two people decided to. Walk in the commandments of God live blamelessly so I encourage you these principles work you know not everybody in the church is going to be persecuted you may be someone that God wants to bless. And these principles are important and work individuals Daniel chapter 1 verse 8 the proof in the scriptures here Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king’s portion of delicacies nor the wine which he drank so he purposed in his heart to do what was right basically he purposed in his heart to follow God’s commands even though he was in a pagan nation brought over he was made a eunuch and he had to deal with this situation.
▶ 53:08 But as an individual he decided that he was going to follow God’s commandments he purposed in his heart it says God brought Daniel into favor. Good will God gave them knowledge skill in literature and wisdom; Daniel had knowledge he had understanding of all visions and dreams. In all matters of wisdom and understanding about the king which the king examined them he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers so here we have a young man an individual or a young woman. That said I’m going to follow God’s commandments I’m going to follow God’s word like it says in Psalms 119 how can a young man cleanse his way by taking heed.
Scripture in this part
Daniel 1:8-9 (NKJV)
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs.
— Daniel 1:8-9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 53:08 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Daniel 1:17-20 (NKJV)
As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. Now at the end of the days, when the king had said that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they served before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.
— Daniel 1:17-20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 53:08 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How do you obtain the curse?
Short answer: Walk contrary to God and He will walk contrary to you; Judas stole and Ananias and Sapphira lied.
▶ 54:01 To God’s word as a young person as an individual you know if you don’t have a family you can still follow these principles and there is a blessing in these principles how to obtain the curse we all know that that’s really easy. That’s not hard. If you walk contrary to me then I will also walk contrary to you people in the church that have accepted Christ and Christians or if you call yourself a Christian and you start walking contrary to God and his word and his commandments he’s going to walk contrary to you. He is going to butt head you guys are going to butt heads. And you’re going to be saying what is all this why is this happening what’s going on just take a look are you following his commandments and maybe you’re following his commandments and you’re still.
▶ 54:57 Having trouble but be patient. Judas John chapter 12 he walked contrary to Jesus he was a thief. If you guys remember the story about the the perfume and he was saying why hasn’t this been sold and given to the poor. And it says that he did not care about the poor he cared because he used to steal the money from Jesus’s funds. From Jesus. I mean my goodness. Uh and people steal from the church and people steal from other people it’s wrong you’re walking against God contrary to him he betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver here he is again he wants that money.
▶ 55:51 So you know God’s commandments not as important as that money. And of course you know his end if you don’t know his end go and find out that’ll be your homework for today. Acts 5 we have Ananias and Sapphira husband and wife they both lied about giving all their proceeds of land they sold a piece of land for a hundred thousand dollars and they said I came to the church and they’re like we give or here’s our fifty thousand dollars from our pros all that we sold our land we’re giving it all the Lord all the Lord. And of course they’re hot they’re holding back 50 and they don’t want to tell anybody about their you know just keep this between us. And uh Peter is like you’re lying. And of course they died you know that story.
Scripture in this part
Leviticus 26:23-24 (NKJV)
‘And if by these things you are not reformed by Me, but walk contrary to Me, then I also will walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
— Leviticus 26:23-24 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 54:01 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 12:6 (NKJV)
This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.
— John 12:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 54:57 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 5:1-10 (NKJV)
But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.” Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband.
— Acts 5:1-10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 55:51 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What happens to nations that walk contrary?
Short answer: The Lord drives out nations because of their wickedness; when we walk contrary as a nation He walks contrary to us.
▶ 56:46 I’m sorry no if you don’t know their end that’s your homework Acts 5 find out what happened it’s not good you’re walking contrary to God. Deuteronomy Deuteronomy chapter 9 verse 1 nations it is not because of your righteousness that you go into possess their land but because of the wickedness of the [unclear] of these nations see the wickedness if you’re when you’re walking contrary nations writing laws like our nation walking contrary to God. It is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord drives them out and this is talking about the canaanites. You know Israel was sent to drive them out because God judged that nation. And the proof is there.
Scripture in this part
Deuteronomy 9:4-5 (NKJV)
“Do not think in your heart, after the LORD your God has cast them out before you, saying, ‘Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land’; but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is driving them out from before you. It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you go in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD your God drives them out from before you, and that He may fulfill the word which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
— Deuteronomy 9:4-5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 56:46 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why fight for the Ten Commandments?
Short answer: They teach how to love God and neighbor; they have been removed from public places, and God’s law in our country needs to be fought for.
▶ 57:39 When we walk contrary to God as a nation he will walk contrary to us. So I encourage you and I want to remind you how important it is to follow his commandments there’s a blessing in it there is a blessing in keeping the ten commandments. And the first the first few commandments talk about how to love God if you don’t know the two greatest commandments in the Bible is what first one is to love God all your hearts soul mind and understanding second is like it love your neighbor and in the ten commandments you have a list of commandments and some of them are for how to love God and some of them how to love your neighbor. And if you’re not a Christian and you don’t believe in God you know keep some of the other commandments we can promote this message you know if we got America to wake up and follow some of these commandments we would be a lot better off.
▶ 58:43 I was reading uh the alliance for religious freedom like the ones that are against us okay like you know anything ten commandments posted they’re like no no no you can’t do that and they say about adultery even though this is not a good thing there is no law against adultery and I was like wow they admitted that it’s not good for this country to be behaving that way and I’ll share it next week but the church. Needs to ch shape up itself. And that starts with us. That starts with the church next door that starts with people that are Christians that believe in God we’ve got to start heading toward the goal of following keeping his commandments so that we can go to our country and say hey.
▶ 59:45 This is what we follow this is what will bless this country. You know you may not believe in God but these down here if we follow these we’re going to be blessed. Amen. And I say that because the ten commandments have been you know removed from public places and stuff but we want to get that back you know if anything to fight for uh I’m realizing it’s God’s law in our country needs to be fought for. And this country represents the people. So I encourage you Christians out there this country is set up to represent the people it is not wrong for us to want to promote this message the message needs to change in our country.
▶ 1:00:39 You know that these commandments are important I mean bill o’reilly I was listening to him the other night he was talking about the ten commandments I was like you talking about the ten commandments uh just a few weeks ago another ten commandments video was posted on PragerU and they’re talking about how important the 10 commandments are. And. I just want to bring this up but how important. It is for this country to get back to following God’s commandments. You know the return our movement that we were having or the the event that we had we’ve got to return back to following God’s commandments. And if our worship session if our prayer session doesn’t bring people to that and bring the church to that we’re missing the mark.
What is Walt Heyer’s story?
Short answer: Affirmed to cross-dress and molested as a child, he had sex-change surgery; in prayer with a psychiatrist Jesus showed up and put him on a new path.
▶ 1:01:34 I want to share about a young about he’s an old man sorry but he has a great illustration here. His name is Walt Heyer. As a child he was affirmed to cross dress by a family member he liked the affirmation oh you look so beautiful he was a boy and he would dress in dresses. And he liked that affirmation. He later was molested by his uncle as a child. He grew up he got married and divorced and after divorce he was prescribed by a doctor to take hormones and surgery to change his sex and did it and this forgot to mention this is his story he tells this story in youtube I can’t share it because it’s like 10 minutes long but you can go and look it up it’s on daily wire walt higher.
▶ 1:02:32 That didn’t work so he had an alcohol alcohol addiction and some other problems and he went to a psychologist and a psychologist led him in prayer can you believe that a psychologist leading somebody in prayer I was like wow I need that psychologist. A psycho. Psychiatrist whatever they call him sorry I think I’m using the wrong word. And Jesus Christ showed up in that prayer. That man that psychiatrist. Praying with Walter. Jesus he says all of a sudden Jesus showed up. He put out his hands. He put out his hands to me and Walter has had a real experience.
▶ 1:03:27 And encounter with Christ. And it brought such a powerful change in his life put him on a new path he got married to someone of the opposite sex. And now he’s helping others in the same boat and that’s just a summary but it just goes to show how somebody. Can you know he’s he’s walking contrary to God’s commandments. Then he has an encounter with Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ comes forgives heals and puts him on the the right path of following his commandments you know and I can’t tell you oh does he uh does he worship in church does he go to church and does he do do the right does he dances you know all of our stuff we got all our things right but I can tell you that he was once walking contrary.
What if we mess up?
Short answer: Humble yourselves, pray, seek His face and turn; God forgives and heals, so don’t give up.
▶ 1:04:28 To God and now he is following his commandments and it is blessing his life and that’s just a good example I wanted to share. In second Chronicles chapter 7 verse 14 we know this scripture but I wanted to preface it this time normally we say what verse 14 says but it says when I shut up heaven and there is no rain or command locust to devour the land or send pestilence among my people if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves pray seek my face turn from their wicked ways I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land it’s a powerful scripture and it’s basically giving you the process when you mess up because we mess up. Like Walter did he messed up he may even have realized what he was doing was wrong.
▶ 1:05:25 But he messed up and we mess up we make mistakes and God brings correction in our lives and when that happens you can come before Jesus like Walter did that somebody prayed for him you know that was my people that was somebody in his people came prayed for this man he met with Jesus. God healed this man and God can heal us and he forgive you when you sin he can heal you when you sin. So don’t give up. If you mess up as the worship team comes don’t give up when you mess up just get on your knees. Ask God for forgiveness ask him to come and change you and heal you because he can do it.
Scripture in this part
2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (NKJV)
When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
— 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:04:28What is the kingdom of God?
Short answer: Not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit; set that as your goal.
▶ 1:06:24 And he does do it many people in this church have experienced that power of Jesus Christ amen. And Romans chapter 14 verse 17 the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness. Peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. And I just want to point out here I I I brought the scripture in because it’s just a simple goal in your life right now if you do not have a goal to become righteous if you do not have a goal to find peace if you do not have a goal to have joy if you do not have a goal to have God’s spirit in you. These are life’s goals right here the kingdom of God see this is where we are going. We are headed to the kingdom of God.
▶ 1:07:21 Amen. And to get there the kingdom of God is righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. So let’s change our mindset. Let’s commit to following God’s commandments. And lastly it says he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. I encourage you this morning. If we mess up we can pray seek God turn from that wickedness and he will hear forgive and heal. If you today would like to commit to following God’s commandments today would you stand with me as we sing I pledge allegiance to the lamb.

I. Pledge allegiance. To the land with all my strength with all I am I will seek to honor.
