Pastor David G. Kincer shows the Levites were set apart to stand before the Lord and minister to him, a calling offered to all Israel and renewed under Hezekiah, who saw God defeat Assyria, while Joash fell after forsaking it. Believers are now a royal priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices, and praise silences the enemy. He closes on the Holy Spirit, who sends, speaks, delivers, gifts and changes us.

What were the Levites separated to do?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: Deuteronomy 10:8: bear the ark of the covenant, stand before the Lord, minister to him, and bless in his name. Standing before someone gives them your attention.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:00 And in Deuteronomy chapter 10 verse 8 read with me the Lord separated the tribe of Levi to number one bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord to number two stand before the Lord to number three minister unto him and number four bless in his name four things. Now you got to remember the presence of God was over the ark of the covenant his mercy seat was over the ark of the covenant his ten commandments his covenant was inside the ark of the covenant and the scriptures were beside the ark of the covenant everything’s there in that holy of holies got it and these Levites were separated and God wants to separate us and to stand before the Lord see when I stand before [unclear] I am giving him my attention.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Deuteronomy 10:8 (NKJV)

At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister to Him and to bless in His name, to this day.

— Deuteronomy 10:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:01

Was this calling only for one tribe?

▶ Watch this part (1:06)

Short answer: No. Exodus 19:5–6: if you obey my voice and keep my covenant you shall be a special treasure, a kingdom of priests. He says that’s a condition; Israel rejected the offer to come up the mountain—are we rejecting it?

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:06 See and they stand before the Lord to minister unto him and him alone. Are you there alright and bless in his name when I teach people like this testimony about the woman powerful see he was blessing that woman by sharing the word all right yeah we can be a blessing to people we got to get out of this the Ichabod syndrome the glory is departed I heard that in the early days drove me nuts every time boy the glory has departed the glory is departed well I don’t know where you’re looking but I had the glory and his name is what Jesus. Now. What we got to understand is this promise was first offered to all of God’s people not just one tribe.

▶ 2:10 Exodus 19:5 through 6 read with me if you obey my voice and keep my covenant there’s those conditions again this unconditional love thing is really something some of a psychologist dreamed up probably a Christian psychologist these are conditions if you obey my voice and keep my covenant alright then you’ll be a special treasure to me above all people.

▶ 2:45 Amen see he’s promising it to all of Israel here in Exodus 19 he said before this I brought you out of Egypt to bring you to myself. Did you get that. That’s how Exodus 19 starts out I brought you out of Egypt not to just deliver you from the slavery in Egypt but I brought you out of that slavery I brought you out of that nation to bring you to me and so he’s offering all of the Israel to come up to the mountain to be with him if you know your Bible is Moses is going to go to the top of the mountain to meet with God and all of Israel has been invited to go to the top of the mountain where the presence of God was the voice of God was the fire was there in the midst of it was God and he said to them if you will obey my voice I will you will be a special treasure to me above all people alright then he says read with me and you shall be come on read and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation p the priests the Levites ministered unto the Lord.

▶ 4:08 Are you there. Alleluia he offered it to all of Israel and all most of you know your Bible and you know that Israel rejected it he says oh no Moses you go up to the top of the mountain and we’ll listen to you we’re not going to go up if we go up to hear God will die and so they rejected the offer and we have to ask ourselves today are we. Rejecting the offer from God to minister to Jesus Christ are we like Israel oh no I’m not going to worship oh no I’m not going to praise oh no [unclear] that’s not my nature I wasn’t raised that way [unclear]. we gotta ask ourselves that.

Scripture (NKJV)

Exodus 19:5-6 (NKJV)

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

— Exodus 19:5-6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:10

Did God’s order change later?

▶ Watch this part (5:05)

Short answer: 2 Chronicles 29:11: Hezekiah said do not be negligent; the Lord has chosen you to stand before him, serve and minister to him and burn incense—a thousand years later. God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 5:05 1000 years later around 700 bc in second Chronicles 29 1 through 11 we have a confirmation that is still the ordained order of God. All right read with me king Hezekiah said do not be negligent the Lord has chosen you Levites to stand before him to serve him and you should minister to him and burn incense a thousand years later God hasn’t changed he’s the same yesterday today and forever. And these people that want to pigeonhole God into a certain dispensation and a certain age get over it and get out of it God is the same yesterday today and forever his principles started back in Genesis 1 and they maintained throughout the Bible are you with me alleluia now we got to ask ourselves again and we need to examine ourselves are we neglecting to minister to Jesus Christ.

Scripture in this part

2 Chronicles 29:11 (NKJV)

How did the Levites respond?

▶ Watch this part (6:30)

Short answer: 2 Chronicles 29:26–30: the Levites stood with David’s instruments and the priests with trumpets; the king and assembly worshiped, sang praises with gladness, and bowed. Music is ordained by God since Genesis 4.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:30 They had been neglecting that’s what king Hezekiah said you know stop neglecting you’ve been ordained for this purpose you’ve been chosen for this purpose. Alleluia have you been neglecting. see the word’s only as good as we apply it ain’t that true yeah now. Same chapter we’re going to go to verse 29. How did they respond we’re going to ask this question how did the Levites respond and minister to the Lord. Okay how do they stop being neglectful and they got up did what they were called of God to do the very first thing in verse 29 the Levites stood. With the instruments of David and the priests with trumpets I want to reiterate to you how important music is in God’s kingdom.

▶ 7:33 Not just something we do to let people who have musical ability release their talent. It’s ordained folks God ordained it at the beginning they could play the flute they could play the harp not only could they play them they could make them and unlike the atheists and the evolutionists who say man came out of a cave [unclear] no they could talk they could converse they could play musical instrument they could build tents they knew the value of gold they knew the value of precious stones these people were not some some prehistoric people from a monkey they were created intelligent can I hear an amen. They could communicate to each other and it [unclear] and it wasn’t sign language God ordained music in Genesis chapter 4 go read it.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

2 Chronicles 29:26-30 (NKJV)

The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. Then Hezekiah commanded them to offer the burnt offering on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD also began, with the trumpets and with the instruments of David king of Israel. So all the assembly worshiped, the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded; all this continued until the burnt offering was finished. And when they had finished offering, the king and all who were present with him bowed and worshiped. Moreover King Hezekiah and the leaders commanded the Levites to sing praise to the LORD with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

Scripture (NKJV)

Genesis 4:21 (NKJV)

His brother’s name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who play the harp and flute.

— Genesis 4:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:34 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

Is worship deeper than praise?

▶ Watch this part (8:40)

Short answer: He says no—the same Spirit brings both, and there are twice as many accounts of praise and thanksgiving as of worship. Worship is adoration; praise is bragging on God; you can be glad.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:40 next the king and the princes and all the assembled people there worshiped and gave thanks to God the king. The princes the sub leaders and the peasants the rich the poor they all came and they worshipped worship means to adore give adoration to see praise means to brag about see. worship is adoration. So the whole assembly when the music played the whole assembly begins to what worship and give thanks to him. You know you give thanks to God you’ll get your mind off your problems.

▶ 9:34 There’s a lot of things you can be thankful for you know you need to speak it. They sang praises with words and gladness. Alleluia I like that word gladness when I was over in Africa there was a with a ministry team they were emphasizing that worship was the deep life and I confronted that and I said no way the same spirit that brings worship is the same spirit that brings praise and there is over twice as many accounts of praise and thanksgiving in the Bible as there is worship and they’re both good when God’s doing it don’t tell me that this worship is the deeper life movement amen. I. Don’t have to be repenting all the time and in examining myself all the time I can be glad I can be happy I can rejoice amen and they.

What follows when God’s presence comes?

▶ Watch this part (10:38)

Short answer: 2 Chronicles 30:22, 27: the Levites taught the good knowledge of the Lord and their prayer came up to heaven. He comes to talk to you and set you free, not just to make you feel good.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:38 Bowed their heads can you bow your knee to Christ can you do it publicly start at home get used to it. It’s good for you to bow the Catholics beat the tar out of us protestants in the bowing department [unclear] bowing every five minutes on their knees the Protestants [unclear]. See this is how they responded they are ministering unto the Lord with what we’ve been teaching you praise worship lifting your hand singing and clapping the hands and all these things in second Chronicles 30 verse 22 it continues into the next chapter the Levites taught the good knowledge of the Lord the word of God whether it comes through teaching like I’m doing now when it comes to prophecy whether it comes through prayer the word of the Lord is what God wants to bring when his presence comes you guys got that in your noggin it isn’t you feel so good haha.

▶ 11:52 Now when his presence comes you will feel good and you may feel repented but he comes to talk to you he comes to say something to you to strengthen you set you free how many know the truth sets you free alleluia. Verse 27 their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place which was in heaven they prayed amen this is what the church is all about excuse me all about. So the Levites responded with what standing playing music singing with words of joy. And they worship they like we did today we took time for worship we had time for joy and then that’s a balanced system and they.

▶ 12:56 Gave thanks to God and I don’t care how bad your problem is you got a lot more things to be thankful for than you have a to be depressed about and one of the greatest things Jesus said rejoice because your name is written and a book of life I mean that’s a big-time thing oh yeah. And then they bowed they bowed their head here they’re still standing so they bowed their head you can kneel as a bow and they prayed and they had the word that’s how the Levites responded church. That’s New Testament church order. Are you there.

What happened when Assyria came against Judah?

▶ Watch this part (13:50)

Short answer: 2 Chronicles 32: after Judah ministered to the Lord, Sennacherib came; God sent an angel who cut off the leaders in Assyria’s camp, and Sennacherib returned shamefaced and was killed by his own sons.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:50 We have music to bring the presence singing to bring the presence not because we like country music or we like modern contemporary music and the church has it all we like the music a meeting with music is empty a meeting with the presence of God is a life-giving force and will change your life the results. Say they didn’t know it but Assyria had just attacked Israel and took them into captivity and then Assyria went down to Egypt and. conquered Egypt and here they are worshipping and praising God now they all know that Assyria is going to come and attack this so here comes Assyria with a great army and let me tell you folks you don’t know your future troubles.

▶ 14:49 But you can be sure our future victories when you take time to assemble together and worship and pray seek the face of the Lord and praise him amen amen yes hallelujah. so here comes Assyria Sennacherib king of Assyria in second Chronicles 32 to enter Judah [unclear] 45 cities including Jerusalem to win them to himself he was feeling pretty good about himself he just conquered Israel they conquered Egypt he conquered other lands and he took people from one nation and put him in another nation and that nation they brought him and put him in a the nation he conquered and all that they did a a big. Immigration program there. Verse 19 the Lord sent an angel who cut down a hundred eighty-five thousand men of valor.

▶ 15:53 Men that were leaders men that were captains now aren’t you glad you were a sergeant in the Marines [unclear] in the camp of Assyria see they humbled himself and ministered to him as God ordained from the beginning and God came to their defense. That’s hot stuff folks oh yeah and you’ll be shocked at how many battles you prevent yourself from even going through and you’ll be shocked at how many battles you win just because you take time to come and assemble and lift your hands lift your voice and sing praises unto God pray and seek him amen.

— 2 Chronicles 32:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:48 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What happened when Joash stopped ministering to the Lord?

▶ Watch this part (16:49)

Short answer: 2 Chronicles 24:17–24: after Jehoiada died, young flatterers turned Joash away; a small Syrian company defeated a great host because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:49 This thing is powerful as you’re going to see at the end of this. Sennacherib returned shamefaced to his land and was assassinated by his own children he messed around with the wrong people. They couldn’t defeat him but God did it now alleluia. Next we go to 2nd Chronicles 24:24 the results are not ministering to the Lord just about a hundred years before a king by the name of Joash he was young when he became king and he followed the instructions and the counsel of Jehoiada the man who was connected to God and as long as he followed jeho des council. Israel was blessed and the king was blessed and then johor dad died and here come the young prince’s.

▶ 17:50 These young know-it-alls. oh King Joash you are the great king you are an outstanding leader oh we want to read all your books we want to listen to all your tapes and by the way we got to get rid of this temple worship. We got to get rid of this ministering unto the Lord thing are you out there the young ones you got to watch these young self-appointed ministers. They get a little knowledge in the Bible and think they’re Moses or apostle Paul. And they don’t. Seek God for that spirit of the word and joe ash fell for it I mean the young men are really elevating him and they’re all young and everything you know young oh yeah oh yeah.

▶ 19:01 Anyway. after Joash forsook the Lord the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men and defeated a very great host because the Lord delivered his own people into the hands of pagans. because they what forsook the Lord God of their fathers. they stopped ministering to the Lord listen to the young whippersnappers this is the way it’s done. They executed judgment against King Joash and the whole nation see when the nation is silent they’re just as responsible as the leaders that are leading them are you understand that.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

2 Chronicles 24:24 (NKJV)

For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men; but the LORD delivered a very great army into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.

Could nations avoid trouble by honoring God?

▶ Watch this part (19:58)

Short answer: He asks how many wars and downturns America could have avoided, recalling the 1950s when “In God We Trust” and “under God” were added and, he says, 60% attended church, before the 1960s “God is dead” era.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:58 you can’t be silent got to stand up. How many troubles have we suffered because we forsake ministering. To Jesus and praising him. How many calamities do you go through that you don’t recognize is a direct result of neglecting God oh. But he loves me yes he does that’s why he’s going to discipline you. When a parent the Bible says love the child they discipline them many times correct them ah. How many wars could the united states of America have avoided. By promoting the religious freedom of the first amendment.

▶ 20:56 Seed now that happened in the 50s I was there. God was elevated that’s when we put in in God we trust on our money that’s when we put in one nation under God and our pledge it was in the 50s there was a tremendous move of God sixty percent of Americans went to church every Sunday it was a normal thing. And then the 60s come along and God is dead thing and all that and the church went haywire. How many wars how many problems how many economic downturns could we have avoided by keeping God in the first amendment in America amen. But a lot of God’s people who believe in them don’t minister into him they go to church to show it’s a show hey here I am I went to check listen if you didn’t meet with God and God didn’t teach you anything and come to you personally and speak to you you’ve wasted your time isn’t interesting you come into church for show hidden indecision you coming to church because it’s a large congregation you have great music I told you a meeting with music is nothing a meeting with the presence of God changes everything.

Are all believers priests?

▶ Watch this part (22:25)

Short answer: 1 Peter 2:5: living stones, a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices—standing, lifting and clapping hands, music, singing, shouting, kneeling, dancing. 1 Peter 2:9: a royal priesthood to proclaim his praises.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 22:25 Amen. Now. 700 years after Hezekiah all believers are priests and ministered to Jesus we come to the time of Jesus the apostles first Peter 2:5 you as living stones are built up of what spiritual house a holy priesthood and what did the priests do they stood before God to minister unto him said they stood before God to minister unto him so when we say would you please stand with us we are using the Bible admonition it’s a protocol to come in to the presence of God one of the protocol. To offer up spiritual sacrifices.

▶ 23:17 Spiritual and what are they lifting your hands clapping your hands playing musical instruments singing under God shouting under God speaking the praises of God standing kneeling ah. Dancing. Is it those are all spiritual sacrifices mainly because you don’t want to do. You don’t want to come to church a lot of times when you get up in the morning you have to drag yourself out by your collar. Are you there yeah let’s see they say well if I this is this is what happened in the church I grew through and the church is well if I’m not really sincere God won’t accept it so you know I’m not going to be a phony I don’t feel like worshiping so I’m going to be truthful I’m just not going to worship they don’t know their Bible their brains are in mars so much the Bible says to offer the sacrifice a sacrifice is something you don’t want to do you don’t like to do it but you do it because the king said to do it amen.

▶ 24:39 Alleluia and then when he comes and gets involved it’s not a sacrifice anymore it’s a flow whoo whoo. First Peter 2:9 you are a chosen generation now he’s going to repeat Exodus 19 where God invited all of Israel to come minister unto him and be priests and they rejected it he’s quoting you are a chosen generation that’s what it said over there in Exodus 19 a royal priesthood a holy nation his own special people that you may proclaim the what praises of him minister to him minister to him brag about him you don’t have anything to brag about brag about him amen focus on him and you’ll get your eyes off of you.

▶ 25:36 Alleluia. Who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light if you’ve accepted the cross forgiveness for your sins if you’ve accepted Jesus Christ dying in your place that’s all the condition necessary for you to praise him. Don’t get too deep and too technical and too detailed in this thing it’s that simple once I accept Jesus’s death for me taking my place once I accept Jesus’s blood cleansing me from all my sins I am a candidate to praise him a special people a royal priesthood I can come and stand before Jesus and worship him and praise him and he can talk and commune with me hallelujah and we’re going to confirm that.

What does praise do to the enemy?

▶ Watch this part (26:36)

Short answer: Psalm 8:2 / Matthew 21:16: out of the mouths of babes and nursing infants you have ordained strength (perfected praise) to silence the enemy and the avenger. You don’t have to be Moses or Paul.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 26:36 The purpose and power of ministering to Jesus. Psalms 8:2 and Matthew 21:16 Matthew 21:16 is just repeating Psalms 8:2 okay in fact most of your scriptures in the New Testament our Old Testament scriptures amplified you understand that they didn’t get a new Bible anywhere they use the Old Testament amen. Now. Out of the mouths of baby now you guys know what a baby is right here’s one in case you don’t know that’s a baby okay a suckling is an older child that isn’t weaned from the breast yet when you go to third world countries they’re standing up and stuck in the bread why its food and it’s free.

▶ 27:32 Mommy’s baby oh yeah. In other words you don’t have to be Moses you don’t have to be apostle Paul you don’t have to be the mighty man of God and the ones on fire for God or whatever you can just be you and God has ordained strength in you Psalms 8 and Matthew when Jesus used it he changed it to praise. Yeah and why has the ordained he set you apart to praise him because [unclear] because of your enemy. And they realize you got enemy not just a kingdom of darkness you got enemies in this world and they can be in your own home family and then I right the deeper you get into God the more chances you got to have a family problems because they get threatened.

▶ 28:43 now you may what still silence the enemy of the avenger. It isn’t you got to have some great testimony all the time just be real and then. In doing that I am giving praise to Jesus aren’t I alleluia he says that act was still and silent the enemy and the avenger. So Satan isn’t my problem anymore. don’t tell me Satan’s chasing me [unclear] chasing me I’m a praiser oh yeah I don’t know you’re getting your doctrine from but when you praise him when you seek him when you minister under him he silences Satan he.

Is praise the answer to crime?

▶ Watch this part (29:36)

Short answer: Ephesians 6:12: our battle is against principalities and powers. But in the civil realm good government punishes evildoers; he tells of Detroit police clearing a corner gang, and says you can’t hide behind praise when criminals need punishing.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 29:36 [unclear] he keeps you from the force the force of the enemy cannot affect you. Hey. Are you guys here this morning. Praise is very important in churches who do not allow other people to really praise and worship are. Cheating their people they really are because let me tell you it was in the praise and it was in the prayer after service that I grew the presence of God would come to me and meet me where I was at and honestly they’re preaching was really lacking back then I wanted a lot more I heard the same sermon almost every Sunday in one form or another I needed the whole counsel of God how about you.

▶ 30:32 But that presence that meeting with God changed my life God could reveal things to me the pastor could. God knew me he knew who I was he knew my problems. So he could meet him. Ephesians 6:12 we battle against principalities and powers and rulers of darkness of this age against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places you understand that our battle is with the kingdom of darkness and Satan himself we battle the flesh in the civil realm the courts a good government will punish the evil doer and praise the good doer.

▶ 31:25 That’s what the Bible says and that’s what government is for to defend you with an army to keep some other nation from coming and taking your goods and to protect you from the criminal see the liberals and fifty-two percent of the Democratic Party want to change this nation to a socialist government and to exalt crime they don’t want to punish criminals. Are you there. I. Told you before in Detroit I’ve seen something miraculous takes place I lived in a neighborhood that they’re calling the black ghettos and all that today but let me tell you there’s white people filipinos. Puerto ricans mexican living in the same neighborhood and we’re all connected because we’re poor.

▶ 32:22 As one thing we got in common we’re poor and these kids dropped out of school and they’d be hanging around on the corner on the just one right at the corner of my block when I walked from high school they would be there pitching pennies and reading comic books here they are 16 17 years of age dropped out of school to pitch pennies and read comic books what they’re going to do for you tomorrow are you there but there are a brotherhood oh yeah there you not is they protect each other and here they are girls been and all this and anyway and I seen this an experienced it with my own eyes Detroit brought in what they called the big four that’s where these guys were all 6 foot 6 or higher and they were built like hulk hogan you know a little and they had a black in the car yet a latino in the car and had two lights in each car and I watched this thing transform my neighborhood the big fort now normal cops came they rang all right if the normal cop didn’t do anything the big four come by and they rang.

▶ 33:39 Few days later the big four comes by again and they ran a few days later the big four comes by they turned the corner where they couldn’t see him to come out of the corner they saw the car they ran what they didn’t know the guys hanging out on the corner was they had place three of the big four at strategic locations where they knew these guys were going to run. And I literally saw one of them picked up by the hair of his head and raised up and drugged right over a fence and they resisted arrest they just beat the tar out of them oh. They deserved it I mean I was sitting there on my port I didn’t run I didn’t have any reason to run that or apart they had a reason to run. So what did they do they handcuffed these guys around a telephone pole in the community.

▶ 34:36 And they waited yeah they hid their car and they waited and sure enough you’re coming some ones that got away. Wow then I got them. They resisted arrest you hear the hook aah. They ain’t cook dinner on the telephone vault. Is actually heaven I thought I run on my porch that sawed-off thank God out of ports and said on. He’s pitching teenies and reading comic books and dropping out of school and thinking you’re cool and the brotherhood gain stuff and all that these are all white folks okay we had white gang black gangs mexican game puerto rican gang good. They took him to jail.

▶ 35:34 Indicted them and some of them spend some time in juvenile hall but the big four told them if we catch you in this neighborhood again the same things going to happen it’s going to be worse and maybe take there was no more people hanging on that street corner literally. None. Just like that they cured the neighborhood and what was the neighborhood afraid of the idiots hanging around on the street corner there’s a bully they got nothing to do but pick them on you and steal from you and all the rest are you there so I know the ghettos can be cleaned out when you clean out the muck when you drain the swap. There’s wholesome people that now yes therefore but they have a right to America’s.

▶ 36:32 Goals you know the American dream as anybody else can I hear an amen and they shouldn’t be oppressed by these thugs and these six foot six guys did it the little police couldn’t do it the big four get it. Alleluia. Not flesh and blood the court is what you use the deal with criminal people’s souls people’s spirit you got spiritual warfare too do you understand that you can’t hide behind praise when you need to punish the criminals what I’m saying and you can’t use praise to think that that’s going to cure the criminal you got to do both.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Scripture (NKJV)

Romans 13:3-4 (NKJV)

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

Who sent Barnabas and Saul?

▶ Watch this part (37:30)

Short answer: Acts 26:18: to turn them from darkness to light. Acts 13:2–4: as they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Ghost said separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work I have called them to; they were sent forth by the Holy Ghost.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 37:30 Is this getting into your cranial vacuum yeah okay alleluia and folks their spirit is more important I mean that’s eternity and so it’s imperative that the church does what it’s supposed to do could that be an amen ministering unto Jesus he can unlock he’s the king of our Lord of the harvest see he’s the Lord of the Satan the power of darkness and so when we praise him Jesus can do things ah. Ok Acts 26:17 Jesus said to Saul I’ve sent you to open their eyes to turn them from what darkness to light from the hot power of Satan to God or the power of God God has power Satan has power and we are sinful to turn people from the influence the impact the control of Satan under the control of God that’s the spiritual warfare amen.

▶ 38:32 Na. example Acts 13:2 as they ministered to the Lord and fasted. Certain apostles and teachers were gathered together and they prayed and the Holy Ghost said [unclear] the Holy Ghost said who said it yeah don’t give credit to the one who spoke it oh. Brother so on so he does know if it’s really of God give the credit to who deserves it. Now we’re going to switch. We’re going to switch topic here and it’s going to be on this Holy Ghost the Holy Ghost was there in that meeting we told you when they you worship and you minister to God his presence will come his presence came and the Holy Spirit spoke who is the Holy Spirit.

▶ 39:35 Wow it’s silent in this place. Jesus wept God God is Jesus God is the Holy Spirit God is the one God duh. God said I will pour out my spirit the Bible says God is spirit. Can he be seven million billion places at one time on this earth yes because he’s God. Alleluia. separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them it wasn’t that they graduated from seminary it wasn’t they graduated from Bible college are you there.

▶ 40:30 Is. God the Holy Spirit came and said I’ve called these guys I’ve invited them to ministry I mean though that makes a big difference. So the apostles and prophets and teachers that were there they laid their hands on Saul and Barnabas and sent them away it looks like the big leaders huh. The big leaders you know we do we go through these formatted oh yeah we. Sanctify you we work that word I’m looking for us but nah. Or day we are doing you.

▶ 41:22 [unclear] who sent them the Holy Spirit. They just followed the Bible principle laying on of hands and blessing down like it said and now right and then the kicker is here so Saul and Barnabas being sent forth by who the Holy Ghost not these big famous apostles [unclear] the Holy Ghost came in that meeting because they ministered unto Christ and he spoke they knew he spoke and they were sent out and they were very successful. Alleluia. Look folks the lawyer the scriptural guru in Christ time the ones that memorized the whole Pentateuch the first five books of the Bible [unclear] make you spiritual for sure.

Is the Spirit still speaking to the churches?

▶ Watch this part (42:28)

Short answer: The scribes debated but missed the Messiah. 1 Corinthians 12:29: not all are apostles; the Holy Ghost equips and sends. Revelation 2:7: hear what the Spirit says to the churches. 1 Corinthians 2:13: words the Spirit teaches.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 42:28 these lawyers the scribes. These leaders of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. They were looked up to and I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a Jewish service. But it’s a big debate well I see that script the river well I see that could run earlier a little why the big debate going on doing the rake the baked debate. Are you out there you probably wish you weren’t. These scribes who graduated from Jewish seminary. Okay didn’t even know that Jesus was the messiah and was gone.

▶ 43:25 But oh they can debate take a debate and you know then the Jewish service of men are down here on the main floor and the women they don’t have any fact you in the center yeah they’re there though what evers and these guys are down here no I don’t believe you you die and this is what that verse means in this forever and they talk and they debate in their argue and when you don’t know God that’s what you do you just argue all the time. how many know the Bible says the wise man is a man of few words why because he won’t have to debate he he knows what he just said is the fact he don’t have to do anything else. Are you that you don’t have to give you a long discourse on why he’s right.

▶ 44:24 All right. Hallelujah. They were sent by the Holy Ghost folks not by the apostles and prophets. And you know we need this in America. First Corinthians 12:29 are all apostles prophets teachers workers of miracles healing do all speak with tongues do all interpret know the Holy Ghost. Equips you and send you for what he wants to give you. You can’t just say one would be impossible I’m going to be a pastor you can’t just be a pastor cuz you think you decided to be a pastor the Holy Ghost has got to be involved in this thing’s your salvation it starts with your salvation that’s why us evangelicals and our fundamentalist [unclear] believe in being born again [unclear] the spirit comes makes this stuff real to us there’s a real experience in it there’s a salvation in it you can feel it you can experience it it’s called being born again amen by the spirit.

▶ 45:44 The spirit is still speaking to the churches today all right in. Revelation 2 verse 7 and for the next two chapters seven times the Bible says he who has an ear let him hear what the spirit says to the churches is God talking to the churches and who’s he talking through the Holy Spirit. But in America we just debate about it we debate about the Holy Ghost instead of just getting it and following it can I hear an amen we need to get rid of the debates and just get the truth now in first Corinthians 2:13 we speak not words human wisdom teaches this is the apostles talking we speak not words human wisdom teaches you understand that phrase you’re not going to get this in the natural man.

Scripture (NKJV)

What does the Spirit do?

▶ Watch this part (46:42)

Short answer: Matthew 12:28: Jesus cast out devils by the Spirit—no ritual, as he found confronting witch doctors in Africa. Simeon came by the Spirit (Luke 2:27); Jesus was led by the Spirit (Luke 4:1); we are justified (1 Corinthians 6:11), gifted (12:8) and changed (2 Corinthians 3:18) by the Spirit. John 4:24: worship in spirit and truth.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 46:42 But with the what the spirit teaches. See that’s why we need his presence that’s why we need the Holy Ghost in our midst not to just say well I can speak in [unclear]. Comparing what spiritual things with spiritual. Not science not philosophy spiritual things with what spiritual now I said again the spirit is speaking to churches today God is the same yesterday today and forever is that true. In. Matthew 12:28 Jesus said I cast out devils by the what [unclear] I cast out devils by what the spirit wow.

▶ 47:43 When I was over in Africa they took me out to the Volta region totally different from the Accra area where I’d been ministering tremendous darkness there the witch doctors kind of had everybody in fear I notice right quick I didn’t see people smiling back in Accra in that area people laughed and smiled here there was no walking room but I didn’t connect yet and I was meeting with church leaders in that area and I get out there and we’re talking and all that and they said a statement that just raised their hair on the back of my neck that. These witch doctors had power and they cited a illustration well you know they they put a curse on this person and this person was walked in a few weeks later down the road and lightning struck him and there was no clouds in the sky.

▶ 48:43 Man my spiritual man was getting stirred and I looked at the good they were talking about how powerful these witch doctors were and I says gentlemen I understand science and I understand this Bible I know the Bible and I know science and I know that thousands of people are struck with lightning every year without clouds it’s called dry lightning it’s called white lightning you don’t need to have lightning I said number two. These witch doctors you talking about have no authority at all they’re just playing games with the people and putting them in fear I said you go get them and you bring them I’ll confront them I’m not afraid of them and I told these witch doctors I said I dare you to touch me without touching me do something to me without touching me put a wart on my nose make my skin turn blue do it show me your power and they said well you’re an American I said what’s that got to do is it either you have you have power you don’t have power well give me I’m an American what you’re saying is that I see through you in paraguay then these guys were witch doctors and they were demonic.

▶ 50:05 And. [unclear] and the local missionary was there they said well you got fire over your door and I knew what they meant you know the Holy Spirit Jesus is in us you know and in their world they interpreted as fire day we can’t bother you because you got fire [unclear]. And I learned I had learned by now that. You got to be careful casting out demons because that those people like their demons they’ll just pick up more later. they like their demons so you got to you got to have the wisdom to respond right at the time are you with me and these guys didn’t want to be cured or anything they loved having authority over people all right and anyway.

▶ 51:12 He cast out devils by what so if you try any other way this Catholic ritual they show in the movie with a bunch of hokey pokey. Hallelujah it’s by the spirit you cast them out not some kind of incense and some recital of something and all that my goodness by the time you get done the demon would be worse than that person. Luke 2:27 Simeon came by the spirit to the temple to see baby Jesus spirit showed him that he was going to see the messiah before he died and how did he come to the temple by the spirit how many know we need to come to the house of God by the spirit of God come with something to contribute come with a purpose I’m going to praise God I’m going to seek God I’m going to make a difference today in the service amen.

▶ 52:10 Luke 4:1 Jesus was led by the spirit into the wilderness where he was tempted of Satan oh I don’t I don’t want that. You’re not going to go anywhere until you go through the wilderness. [unclear] mature unless you go to the wilderness and who leads us there the spirit oh that’s negative that’s a negative confession like we heard [unclear] that’s a negative confession the wilderness are going to be tested and tempted by the Devil and and I’m going to go through problems and God is going to show me how strong I am because I’m going to come out victorious how many know the testing is to show you how strong you or not how weak you are I’m you know God would never bring anything [unclear] you can’t overcome amen so you come out well then I’m stronger than it was last month hallelujah [unclear] are you with me the spirit the spirit does it Acts 11:28 activists by the spirits signified a great famine and it happened he also picked up Paul’s girdle or belt and he said everyone this bill is going to go to Rome and you’re going to be persecuted beaten and imprisoned in all this and Paul already knew he was so I activist was just confirming what Paul already knew but the church interpret it don’t go Paul don’t go oh my gosh don’t go how do

▶ 53:41 you know you can miss. Understanding even when the spirit talks see God was giving Paul a confirmation of what God had already told Paul in Paul replied hey I’m ready to die for Christ you know what he said he said don’t bother me [unclear] I’m ready to die for Christ I’m going up and he did he went up there and he got to minister to Caesar like he was called at the beginning to minister to the kings of the earth and he got to go up there to Caesar and minister to him Caesar didn’t accept it and it cost Paul’s life but God gave Caesar and the government of Rome a chance. First Corinthians 6:11 you’re justified in the name of Jesus and you’re justified by the [unclear] justified means made right made right by not only Jesus but by the spirit.

▶ 54:40 How do you know that’s a big reason to get the spirit. First Corinthians 12:8 the gifts are given by the Holy Spirit you can’t just take them I’ve been in pentecostal churches where people stand up [unclear] God gave me all nine gifts. I’m a young Christian that I’ve read my Bible know better than that number one he’s a novice [unclear] given to novices. [unclear]. word of wisdom word of knowledge faith. Discerning of spirits. Healings miracles.

▶ 55:35 prophecy tongues interpretation is all given by who the spirit you can act like it’s something all you want but unless the spirit has given it to you you’re putting on a show second Corinthians 3:18 we are changed by the same spirit into the very image of Christ how are we changed by the spirit is the spirit important. So when he says I inhabit the praises of my people what’s he saying my spirit’s going to come. God knows how to come and reveal himself to you distinctly for you and church is imperative as a church that we. Apply these principles and let the spirit of God move.

▶ 56:31 John 4:24 God is a what and they that worship him must worship him what and in truth I gave you the truth of praise lifting your hands bowing kneeling shouting unto God singing unto God speaking unto God playing [unclear] all these things I gave you the truth but folks we need what the spirit to back it up.
