Sodom in the New Testament: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
In this message Pastor David G. Kincer lays out a timeline of 400-year patterns of God’s judgments, then studies the three New Testament mentions of Sodom (Mark 6, Matthew 11, Luke 17), arguing that Sodom is the example for the end times, that the apostles preached repentance, and that Lot’s wife shows the danger of going back. He closes with his view of conditions in America.
What is the 400-year pattern between God’s judgments?
Short answer: He lays out a timeline in which about 400 years separate the flood, the judgment of Sodom, the judgment of Egypt, the period of the judges, the era of the kings, and then 400 silent years before Jesus came. He says Jesus did not follow the pattern for His return “cuz we’re 2,000 years from that time,” but he says judgment is surely coming.
▶ 0:00 First I’m going to give you a timeline. There, here’s the flood, okay. That’s God destroyed the earth because of violence and sin in the earth, sexual immorality and so forth. At the flood, there’s approximately 400 years between that judgment and the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah, okay? When God destroyed Sodom, then we come over here to the Exodus. Israel was 400 years from Sodom. Abraham and had sons, and then they had sons, and they went down to Egypt for actually 430 years, but approximately 400 years between Sodom and God judging Egypt and literally destroying Egypt to set his people free. Are you with me so far?
▶ 1:00 We find that the period of the judges was approximately 400 years. Everybody doing what’s right in their own eyes. The judges were brought up to judge God’s people. he would He would bring in armies or plagues to correct God’s people, and then he would raise up a judge to lead them out of the captivity, the judgment. All right, that was 400 years, approximately 400 years. Are you getting the picture? 400 years is all of a sudden a prominent figure in God’s judgments. All right. Then we come over here to where they have a king. They didn’t want to judge anymore, and so they wanted a king. They wanted to be like the nations. And this is during the era of the kings is when God, through Jeremiah and Ezekiel, said that his people was like Sodom and Gomorrah. They were sinning. Isaiah, all these, Hosea, all these prophets came and tried to turn God’s people back, to right back to Bible morality. Okay. And so, sure enough, it was about 400 years of the reigns of the kings, and then God took them into captivity, the Babylonian captivity.
▶ 2:31 All right. Now we have 400 silent years from Nehemiah and Malachi, the last two prophets, Ezra, after the restoration of God’s people from captivity. There’s 400 silent years. God didn’t say anything till Jesus came. Interesting. Now when Jesus came, he himself said it will be like Sodom when I come the second time and judge the earth. But we don’t have a period of time, and obviously he didn’t follow the 400-year paradigm, did he? Cuz we’re 2,000 years from that time. But you can rest assured it’s what? Coming. Now notice this. That over here in the law, Moses, Deuteronomy, God told Israel that you’re going to fall away, you’re going to sin, you’re going to serve other gods, and you’re going to go into captivity. That was 800 years before they went into into captivity. God told them what was going to happen, because Deuteronomy also says they didn’t have a heart. He said, “Oh, that there was a heart in them to obey me and to know me.” You see, he was trying to save and trying to uh use a people, and a lot of them didn’t want to obey him and didn’t want to know him. Are you there? And he predicted this stuff 800 years before they went into captivity for their sin. Are you there? Now, see, that’s a supernatural God.
Scripture in this part
Deuteronomy 5:29 (NKJV)
Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!
— Deuteronomy 5:29 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:08 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why does he say end-time predictions are wrong when Jesus compared the end to Sodom?
Short answer: He says Jesus Himself said there would be a falling away and that the second coming would be like Sodom, and that the pre-, mid- and post-tribulation and millennial views all “have a real problem, because no one is connecting it to what God said is the example of the end.” He says the next “Sodom example” comes at the return of Christ.
▶ 4:42 Folks, supernatural gods can predict things before they ever happen. Nobody else. But it’s also coincidental that over here, Jesus himself said there would be a falling away, and we would be like Sodom at the second coming of Jesus Christ. And this is where all your second uh return, your your end time predictions are all wrong. I’ve studied them all. They all have a problem: pre-tribulation, post-tribulation, mid-tribulation, premillennium, postmillennium, amillennium. All these things have a real problem, because no one is connecting it to what God said is the example of the end. We do all this crazy stuff with weeks and Daniel and all this nonsense, and we get God’s people all, we lead them. Okay, now we got the picture of the timeline. When’s the next next Sodom example coming? At the second coming, the return of Christ. Okay, we don’t know how long, we don’t know how many years people try to predict it, but we know that one of the signs is things are going to be like Sodom and Gomorrah. Right? Yeah. Now, so we go to the New Testament now to get the clarification of Sodom judgment. Here we go. First, men of Sodom in the New Testament.
What does Jesus say in Mark 6:11 about those who reject the preachers? (Mark 6:11)
Short answer: He says Jesus sent the apostles out and said that for people who would not receive or hear them, it “shall be more tolerable” for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city. He says this shows “there’s levels of judgment” and that those who reject the message and the preachers get a greater judgment than Sodom.
▶ 6:35 Mark 6:11: “Whosoever shall not receive you.” Talking to the apostles, he sent them out to preach the gospel, and he says, “Whoever not receive you, accept you, nor hear you.” You see, you can reject the preacher, hate him, put him in prison or whatever, and you can also reject the message that the preacher is bringing. And he says whoever rejects the message and whoever rejects and mistreats the preacher preaching it, “I say it shall be more tolerable,” more bearable, it be a better word here, “for Sodom and Gomorrah in the” what? “Day of judgment than for that city.” Wow. Did you hear that, church? He sent the preachers out to preach, the apostles out to preach, and he said this statement that it’s going to be more tolerable, bearable in the day of judgment. In other words, there’s levels of judgment, and Sodom and Gomorrah’s people is going to have a lesser judgment than the people that reject the message and reject the preachers preaching it.
Scripture in this part
Mark 6:11 (NKJV)
And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
— Mark 6:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:35What did the apostles preach: psychology, prosperity or repentance?
Short answer: He says the apostles preached that men should repent, and he contrasts it with “psychology,” “prosperity” and “possibility thinking” in America today. He says what is rejected is repentance, “not grace and faith,” and that “if you don’t” stop sinning “you’re like Sodom and Gomorrah.”
▶ 8:03 Wow. And so what did the apostles do? They went out and preached psychology. Right? No. Isn’t that what we’re hearing today in America, a lot of psychology? They would out preach prosperity. Right? No. Isn’t that what we’re hearing in America? “Boy, come to Christ, you’re going to be wealthy and rich.” Ain’t that right? Possibility thinking, purpose-driven thinking, all of this stuff. They preach none of that. What did they preach? That men should what? Repent. What’s the message they’re rejecting? Repentance, not grace and faith. And what do you hear prominently in every church and in every radio and TV minister? Grace and faith. “Come to Christ.” No. “You’re in, man. You believe in Christ, you in.” No repentance. But what was the apostles’ message? Repentance. Said repentance. You got to turn from your sin. You got to stop sinning. And if you don’t, you’re like Sodom and Gomorrah.
Why will it be more tolerable for Sodom than for cities that saw miracles? (Matthew 11:20-24)
Short answer: He says Jesus rebuked the cities where most of His miracles were done because they did not repent, and that it would be “more tolerable” for Sodom in the day of judgment than for them. He says Sodom would have repented if it had seen those miracles, and says the city of Nineveh did repent when told it would be destroyed in 40 days.
▶ 9:27 Hallelujah, hallelujah. Isn’t that clear? I mean, folks, you can’t get any more clear than that. You see, and we got to get it out of our mind that God’s just going to judge homosexuals and sexual immorality people because that’s what Sodom. We showed you in Jeremiah and Ezekiel that God referred to his people being like Sodom and Gomorrah when they did worse sins than Sodom and Gomorrah did. Matthews 11:20, second mention of Sodom. Jesus rebuked the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, for they did not what? Repent. [unclear] Capernaum, they’re going to be brought down to what? Hell, Hades, the abiding place of the dead that don’t know God or don’t didn’t follow God. Why? Because God did a miracle there. He was born of a virgin. He opened blinded eyes. He, you know, multiplied the fish and the loaves and all kinds of things, and they would not repent even though he did all the miracles. You ever hear people say, “Boy, if I could see a miracle, I believe”? He again says it’s going to be more tolerable, they’re going to be more bearable for Sodom in the day of what? Judgment, the second coming, than for you. “For if I would have done the miracles in Sodom and Gomorrah that I did in you and preached the word that I preached in you to you, they would have remained. There would have been no judgment. They would have repented.” how many You know, the city of Nineveh was like that. God was going to destroy it. He went in with the message, “In 40 days God’s going to destroy it,” and the people what? Repented.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 11:20-24 (NKJV)
Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”
— Matthew 11:20-24 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:54Jonah 3:4 (NKJV)
And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk. Then he cried out and said, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!”
— Jonah 3:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:16 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is Sodom’s example for believers, and what does Luke 17:28 say about normal life? (Luke 17:28)
Short answer: He says Sodom is “the example of God’s vengeance and judgment both on unbelievers and believers who reject” the message of repentance. He reads Luke 17:28, that in Lot’s day they ate, drank, bought, sold, planted and built, and says this sounds like “normal everyday life,” not the terrible days described by tribulation teachers.
▶ 11:25 Hallelujah. Now, isn’t this clear? God’s example of Sodom is the example of God’s vengeance and judgment both on unbelievers and believers who reject what the message of repentance, not the message of faith, not the message of water baptism, not the message of the Holy Ghost baptism, was speaking in tongues, not the message that everybody’s got a gift and God has got a purpose for you. Third time Sodom and Gomorrah is mentioned, third time, and it’s in procession, it’s in step by step. Luke 17:28: “Likewise,” similarly, in the same manner, “as it was in the days of Lot.” Where was Lot? In Sodom. Okay. “They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted and built.” Now does that sound like days are terrible, like pre-tribulation rapture people talk about, like post-tribulation people talk about? Buying, selling, marrying, giving in the marriage. The other scripture says. Isn’t that just normal everyday life? Yeah. Eating, drinking, working, not working, still eating. Don’t have to work, you can still eat. Is America in this condition, in spite of our economy problems and everything else? Are we still buying, selling, marrying, giving in marriage, eating? Yeah, yeah. People that don’t work, do they get to eat free? Oh absolutely, no problem. Have five kids, we just raise your salary, raise your welfare.
Scripture in this part
Luke 17:28 (NKJV)
Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
— Luke 17:28 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:16What happened the day Lot left Sodom, and what does it say about the end? (Luke 17:29-30)
Short answer: He says that on the day Lot went out of Sodom “it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed” all of them, and that when Christ is revealed the world will be the same: with natural life going on and people sinning. He says God always protects the righteous, such as the seven thousand in Israel who had not bowed to Baal.
▶ 13:42 But the day Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed how many? All of them. You see, when God removed the righteous, and he always protects the righteous. Remember in Israel there were seven thousand that had not bowed their knee to Baal. No matter how much you read in the scriptures, there’s always that remnant that is there that God is blessing, people that are following God, which the next series will show you. In the midst of this stuff, God comes up with tremendous promises to his people. In the midst of this mess, God makes these promises. “Even so shall it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” When Christ comes back, this is what is going to be happening, just like Sodom and Gomorrah. They were with natural life, but they were sinning, homosexuality, all these sins were going to go into them. Okay, so the condition of the earth is going to be like what? Sodom and Gomorrah. Okay.
Scripture in this part
Luke 17:29-30 (NKJV)
but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
— Luke 17:29-30 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:23 (quoted; reference not named in the message)1 Kings 19:18 (NKJV)
Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”
— 1 Kings 19:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:58 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Does the Bible say the son of perdition is the antichrist, and why does Jesus say to remember Lot’s wife? (Luke 17:32)
Short answer: He says “the Bible never says that the son of perdition is the antichrist,” and that anyone teaching a coming “big bad” antichrist is teaching a lie. He says Jesus’ statement “Remember Lot’s wife” matters because Lot’s wife did not just look back, “she went back.”
▶ 14:49 There ain’t no big bad uh son of perdition, the antichrist, rising up, folks. Everyone who teaches you that teaching you a lie. It’s just not in the scriptures. The Bible never says that the son of perdition is the antichrist. Never says it. Then he says this powerful statement: “Remember Lot’s wife.” Oh, remember I told you that Lot’s wife didn’t just look back, as that word is, she went back. You wasn’t listening when I said that, huh? Yeah, well, right here: remember Lot’s wife. Why does he want us to remember Lot’s wife? Because the angels came. Her husband was a righteous man. He had two virgin daughters, and he had two daughters married to heathen men, probably had kids by them, probably had grandchildren, and they mocked and laughed when he said, when Lot said, “You know, God’s going to destroy the city.” They go, “You got to be kidding, man. Ain’t nothing like that going to happen. We’re buying, we’re selling, we’re marrying, giving, everything normal.”
Scripture in this part
Luke 17:32 (NKJV)
Remember Lot’s wife.
— Luke 17:32 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:15 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why does he say Lot’s wife went back to Sodom?
Short answer: He says the angels literally grabbed Lot, his wife and their two daughters and took them out of the city, but she decided “I’m not following the angels any further” because she had a home, grandchildren and money in the bank. He says this is exactly what was going on in Sodom: people could even live off welfare.
▶ 16:10 And then the angels grab Lot, his wife, and the two virgin daughters, living still in their home, and took them out of the city, literally grabbed them and took them out of the city. Now the angels had the message, the angels had the authority. They start going down the road from Sodom and Gomorrah, leaving the town, and she decides, “I’m not following the angels any further. I’m not following my righteous husband any further. I’m going back. I got a home back there. I just bought a nice 60-inch widescreen TV. I got grandchildren back there. We got money in the bank, and besides that, I can live off welfare. I don’t even need a Lot.” If you read what we told you, that’s exactly what was going on in Sodom and Gomorrah. You didn’t even have to work. They’d feed you. Are you guys out there?
What does Jesus mean by saving your life and losing it? (Luke 17:33)
Short answer: He says Lot’s wife was caught in the judgment and turned to a pillar of salt because she did it her own way, as in the flood, the judges and the captivity where everyone did what was right in their own eyes. He says “you go God’s way, you’ll live,” and “if you do it your way, you will die.”
▶ 17:26 He said, “Remember Lot’s wife.” What happened to her? She got caught in the judgment and turned to a pillar of salt, just like everything else was salt in that area, and it’s still salt. And this, he explains, “If you seek to save your life,” and that’s what she did, “I’m not going to follow them guys, I’m going to do it my way.” Isn’t that what happened in Judges? They did what was right in their own eyes. Isn’t that what happened at the flood? They did what was right in their own eyes. And that what happened, went into captivity, everybody was doing what was right in their own eyes. No repentance, no Bible morality. They all believed in God, but no Bible morality, no repentance. “And whoever loses his life,” you give up your way of doing things, “you will find it.” You will get life. Isn’t that right? You go God’s way, you’ll live. Repent, turn from your sins, accept Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for the punishment for your sin, you will live. If you do it your way, you will die. Ain’t that clear? Did Lot’s wife die with two angels leading her out? Yeah.
Scripture in this part
Luke 17:33 (NKJV)
Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
— Luke 17:33 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:14 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does he say sin is, and what does he say about sexual immorality and homosexuality?
Short answer: He says sin is “just a Bible word for crime,” a violation of a moral law with a punishment. He says sexual immorality is much bigger than homosexuality because more people commit it, that Sodom’s second sin was pride, “fullness of bread, abundance of idleness,” and that we are to strengthen the hand of the poor by getting them a job. He also says that AIDS is “a obvious judgment on the male homosexuals,” which is his own claim and not verified here.
▶ 18:51 Remember their sins. Sodom’s crimes. Sins is just a Bible word for crime. And so when you use sin, they say, “Well, we can’t use the word sin.” Sin is nothing but the same word as crime. You violated a moral law, it is a crime, there’s a punishment, there’s a hurt that’s going to be done. Are you with me? United States, in Europe today, and at the second coming. All right, sexual immorality is much bigger than homosexuality, because there’s more people committing sexual immorality than there is people committing homosexuality, and how’s he going to single out the homosexuals and just judge them, except for this AIDS thing? You know, that’s a obvious judgment on the male homosexuals, cuz, you know, 90% of the people who have it are male homosexuals, over 90%, 94 or something like that. Are you there? We need to correct our sexual immorality, also incest, adultery, fornication, sex with animals, and all that stuff. Sexual immorality, homosexuality was the second sin. Pride, of course. America has no pride. Right? Fullness of bread, abundance of idleness. Do we have abundance of idleness? We we went through all this. Yeah, we’re lining up. Boy, we’re we’re right there. We don’t strengthen the hand of the poor and the needy. And how do you strengthen the hand of the poor and the needy? Getting them a career, getting them a job, getting them work. That’s right.
Scripture in this part
Ezekiel 16:49 (NKJV)
Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
— Ezekiel 16:49 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:17 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does he say the Bible calls an abomination?
Short answer: He lists sexual immorality, homosexuality, incest, pedophilia, sex with animals, witchcraft, all child abuse, desecrating God’s house, stealing and lying, and says failing to tell people to repent is also an abomination. He says an abomination is “something God detests” because it brings harm.
▶ 20:42 Abominations. Abominations include sexual immorality, homosexuality, incest, pedophilia, sex with children, sex with animals, witchcraft, all child abuse, including the murder of children. The Bible declares is an abomination. When you mistreat a child, whether it’s verbally, physically, sexually, emotionally or whatever, God says that’s an abomination. Not telling people to repent, we just learned, as an abomination. Okay. Desecrating God’s house is an abomination. Stealing, lying, all this stuff, that’s an abomination. Abomination is something God detests. God hates it because it brings harm. Now, they declared openly their sin. They didn’t hide it. And we just found that, as I said, no repentance to the gospel message is their sin. All right, and that’s the way it’s going to be at the coming of Christ.
Why does he say no one predicted these changes in America?
Short answer: He says that in the circles he grew up in, no one predicted laws for same-sex marriage and acceptance of homosexuality, which he says gained “inroads” in churches and politics. He says no one predicted the fall of Russia “overnight,” and that if God can bring that down He can bring down America, quoting the warning not to trust in chariots or horses.
▶ 22:03 Now let me just say, back in those years growing through all that, the people around me and I myself, who became a tongue-talking, spirit-filled believer, wound up in a circle of churches that believed in prophecy, setting people into the body of Christ. And nobody that I read books on, no preacher, no minister that I talked to, and no minister, big mega church on TV and radio, even gave an indication, even a thought, that America would be passing a law for same-sex marriage, homosexuality accepted, that these homosexuals would have infiltrated the churches, the politics, Congress, local city councils, mayors, state, and that one to two of people would gain inroads like they have today. No one predicted it, including us tongue talkers who supposed to be a notch above everybody else, man. You know, nobody. They were all saying, “Jesus is coming, Jesus is coming, Jesus is coming.” Oh man, no one predicted the fall of Russia overnight, just like that. And if God can bring down Russia overnight, can he bring down America? Oh yeah, he’s God, folks. That’s why the scriptures say don’t trust in chariots, don’t trust in horses. Back then, those days, that was the tremendous weapons, the cavalry, the armor was the chariots. He said, “Don’t trust in your army. When I decide to do something, armies don’t even get in my way.” Are you there?
Scripture in this part
Psalm 20:7 (NKJV)
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
— Psalm 20:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:15 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does he say about sexually transmitted diseases?
Short answer: He says no one predicted the sexual revolution would leave about half of Americans with a sexually transmitted disease or over 30 new ones, and he says over 30,000 Americans die of them a year. He says “if it feels good, do it” hurts others, and that accepting homosexuality sentences a man “to a horrible death of AIDS.” These statistics are as he gave them and have not been checked.
▶ 24:37 None of these people were predicting these things. None of these were predicting when the sexual revolution came along. No one predicted that America would wind up with 50% of Americans with a sexually transmitted disease today. 50% of Americans have a sexually transmitted disease or had one, or got more than one, one-half, one and two. No one predicted there were to be 30 over 30 and new sexually transmitted diseases. No preacher was predicting that. No politician was predicting that. Just, you know, “if it feels good, do it.” That was the statement back there. Am I right, you older ones? “If it feels good, do it. I’m not hurting anybody else.” Yeah, you do hurt somebody else when you do these things, and it starts spreading through America. Uh, over 30,000 a year die from sexually transmitted diseases in America, and they make a big issue of a few kids getting gunned down in a school, and they make no issue of over 30,000 Americans dying every year from sexually transmitted diseases. 30,000. Over, and about 27, 28,000 of those, those are AIDS. They die from AIDS. When you say the homosexual is acceptable and they come, you are sentencing that man to a horrible death of AIDS. Nowhere else do we sentence people to a disease. Are we like Sodom and Gomorrah? Oh yeah, oh yeah.
What statistics does he give about single parents and rape?
Short answer: He says 48% of children are born to single-parent mothers, 30% of Americans never marry, and that a high percentage of children born to single parents become criminals or abusers of drugs or alcohol, in his words from news sources. He also says 93,000 men and boys and 19,000 military women were raped in a year, and only 8% are punished; these figures are as he stated them and have not been checked.
▶ 26:30 48% of children are born to single-parent mothers. 30% of Americans never marry. 49% of women, young women today, live with a man on an average of 22 months, then they go live with another. is the NBC News. Of those 48% born to single parents, I mean uh to single moms, a high percentage of them become criminals, drug abusers, alcohol abusers, high school dropouts, sexually permissive, welfare, and sexually transmitted diseases. And they know this. Fox News, uh, you know, the Center for Disease and Control, all of these people know this. President Obama knows these statistics. Listen to this one. Are you ready for this one? You young ones, listen to this. You young males, listen to this. 93,000 United States men and boys were raped last year. Now is women raping them? This is from the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense and Fox News. 19,000 military women were raped last year, and more than once. 5,000 military men were raped last year, and only 8% are punished. And folks, if they have that many recorded, how many you think happened and no one said anything? Do we have a problem in America? And our Congress is not addressing or telling Americans about these situations.
What does he say about suicide, a sound mind and hope? (2 Timothy 1:7, Romans 8:24)
Short answer: He says 105 people commit suicide every day, 8 and a half of them young people, and that “Bible moral people don’t commit suicide” because God has given a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. He ends by saying “we’re saved by hope,” and that we have hope for America, our youth and our families because God is not a man that He should lie.
▶ 28:51 105 people commit suicide every day. You young hearing that? 105, a lot more than all the shootings in the schools. 8 and a half of them are young people every day, young people. Eight and a half are committing suicide. You see, Bible moral people don’t commit suicide. Are you there? The Bible says he hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of what? Sound mind, a solid mind. Sound mind people don’t commit suicide, and they don’t hurt other people. That was good. See, Christians don’t have a confused mind. We’re not confused. We have a sound mind, a solid mind, a strong mind. 49% of the unemployed are under age 34. That’s really a disaster. That’s really hurting in America, that our young people are the highest of the unemployed. Is this clear? Are we lining up to Sodom and Gomorrah? How many know the Bible says we’re saved by hope? I just gave you that verse a couple weeks ago. Hallelujah. How many Christians have never heard that verse? They always heard you say by faith through grace and not of ourselves, not a work. We saved by hope. We have great hope in his name. Amen. We have hope for America. We have hope for our youth. We have hope for our family, because God is not a man that he should lie. What he says he will do. And he uses consistent, faithful people like you to reach the inconsistent, unfaithful people that need to be reached. Amen. Hallelujah. So Bible morality preaches repentance and repents.

What did Jesus say would be like Sodom?
He says Jesus said that at the second coming of Jesus Christ “we would be like Sodom,” and that Luke 17 compares the days of the Son of Man to the days of Lot.
Scripture (NKJV)Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;

What does he say about end-time timelines and weeks of Daniel?

Does he say there are levels of judgment?
He says yes: “there’s levels of judgment,” and Sodom and Gomorrah’s people will have a lesser judgment than the people who reject the message and the preachers.
Scripture (NKJV)And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

Does he say Sodom was judged only for homosexuality?
He says “we got to get it out of our mind that God’s just going to judge homosexuals and sexual immorality people because that’s what Sodom” was, and says Jeremiah and Ezekiel referred to God’s own people as being like Sodom when they did worse sins.
Does he say miracles make people repent?
He says no: the cities where most of the miracles were done did not repent “even though he did all the miracles,” and he says Jesus said Sodom would have repented if it had seen them.
Scripture (NKJV)Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: “Woe to you, Chorazin!
