From the sermonSix of Seven Seals — Part 1 · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

In this first message on six of the seven seals, Pastor David G. Kincer begins from the idea that people with charts and predictions missed Jesus’ first coming and may be wrong about the second. He asks what the book with seven seals in Revelation 5:5 is, then starts the four horsemen: the white horse and whether it is the Antichrist, what the Bible says about “antichrist,” the rider of Revelation 19:11, and the red horse, closing with Mark 13:7 on wars and the end.

Why does he say we can be wrong about the second coming the way people were wrong about the first?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: He says the Jews and the preachers who had “their charts” at Jesus’ first coming “missed every point,” because they looked for a son of David to restore the kingdom from Rome, and “the Messiah wasn’t coming to restore the natural kingdom from Rome to them. He was coming to put a kingdom in people’s lives.” He says “we can be wrong today,” and “they did not know the Messiah was God Himself when He came the first time.”

▶ 0:00 Seriously, okay, we’re going to get into the Bible this morning, and we are talking about the book of Revelation, and today we’re going to be talking about six of the seven seals. Now, the approach to Revelation is strictly from the book of Revelation, and you’ve got to remember this, please. Get this in your cranial vacuum what I’m going to say. The Jews and the preachers, when Jesus came, had their charts. They had it all figured out what was going to happen, how it was going to happen, and they missed every point.

▶ 0:42 Do you realize that? You see, the Jews had it wrong the first time Jesus came. They were looking for a son of David to restore the kingdom to them from Rome, and the Messiah wasn’t coming to restore the natural kingdom from Rome to them. He was coming to put a kingdom in people’s lives. See, they were totally wrong, and we can be wrong today. They did not know the Messiah was God Himself when He came the first time. They didn’t have that in their charts and their predictions. They did not know.

What does he say defiles us, and what did the religious teachers of Jesus’ day miss? (Mark 7:15; Matthew 11:14)

▶ Watch this part (1:25)

Short answer: He says “it is things within that defile us, and not what we eat or what we wear,” and “it’s what comes out, those words and those actions, that’s what defiles us and condemns us.” He says they “had doctrines of clothing, Sabbath day’s journey,” and “the washing of hands and dishes,” and of the Sabbath rule says “it’s not in the Bible, they made it up.” He says they “didn’t know that John the Baptist was Elijah that was to come in the spirit,” and “they wanted and tried to kill Jesus, God Himself.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:25 It is things within that defile us, and not what we eat or what we wear. See, Seventh Day Adventists, they’re still into the food program. The holiness people are into no jewelry and no makeup, and you know, look pale and don’t go to hell. You know, and it’s not what we eat. We can eat pork, we can eat what, it has nothing to do with our character and nothing to do with our spiritual man and nothing to do with sin. See, it’s what comes out, those words and those actions, that’s what defiles us and condemns us.

▶ 2:10 They had doctrines of clothing, Sabbath day’s journey, you can only go so far on the Sabbath day, it’s not in the Bible, they made it up, the washing of hands and dishes and all this stuff. You see, they had all of these doctrines, and when Jesus came, they missed it totally. They didn’t know that John the Baptist was Elijah that was to come in the spirit, the forerunner of Jesus, and they cut off his head. They wanted and tried to kill Jesus, God Himself, which violated the Ten Commandments they claim to believe in. Amen. And a lot of these theoretical people about the second coming, they don’t balance their checkbook, they don’t stay married, they violate the very book that they say that they believe in, but yet they got this second coming all figured out.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Mark 7:15 (NKJV)

There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 11:14 (NKJV)

And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come.

— Matthew 11:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:33 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What does he say about preachers who predict the end time and the day or hour? (Matthew 24:36)

▶ Watch this part (3:10)

Short answer: He says preachers “have made millions of dollars selling you a bill of goods, claiming to know the inside of the end time, when Jesus Himself and God Himself said twice, no man knows the day or the hour.” He says they “still predict the day,” yet “Nobody knows but God Himself.” He says some in Jesus’ day thought He was an old prophet risen from the dead, and “this is what happens with the second coming teaching. We wind up leaving Jesus Himself, the most important person in the Bible, the goal of the Bible, and get into our petty little doctrines that mean nothing.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:10 And let me tell you something: preachers have made millions of dollars selling you a bill of goods, claiming to know the inside of the end time, when Jesus Himself and God Himself said twice, no man knows the day or the hour. They still predict the day, they still, still, still predict the year and the month and everything else, and it says plainly, what? Nobody knows but God Himself. And you buy their books, and you got the book to read yourself, and they’re making a fortune.

▶ 3:50 Literally, some believed Jesus was an old prophet risen from the dead. Look at that doctrine they conjured up. Well, this is one of them old prophets, I don’t know which one, but it’s one of them that raised from the dead. And they believed Jesus was a sinner. They called Him a sinner, and He’s God, and God cannot what? Sin. The Bible says there was no sin in Him. And this is what they said: if we leave Jesus alone, all will believe on Him. Well, duh, that’s the whole point. We’re supposed to be believing and trusting in and following Jesus Christ, but they wanted people to believe in their group, their doctrine, and leave Jesus. And this is what happens with the second coming teaching. We wind up leaving Jesus Himself, the most important person in the Bible, the goal of the Bible, and get into our petty little doctrines that mean nothing.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 24:36 (NKJV)

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

What did the apostles and John the Baptist misunderstand about Jesus? (Matthew 16:22; 17:4; 11:2-3)

▶ Watch this part (4:56)

Short answer: He asks, “if they missed the first time, could it be possible we don’t know beans about the second time?” He says “even the apostles did not understand that Jesus was going to die,” that Peter said “you can’t die,” that they “wanted to be number one,” and wanted to build three tabernacles at the transfiguration: “these are the apostles, the chosen twelve.” He adds that John the Baptist later sent his disciples to ask “Are You the One?” and asks, “just because we hear something, does that mean we got it?”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:56 Are you with me now? My point is this: if they missed the first time, could it be possible we don’t know beans about the second time? See, they knew the Messiah was coming, just as we know Jesus is what? Coming again. We know that it says over and over He’s coming the second time. And so with that introduction, we’re going to be studying this book of Revelation. Even the apostles did not understand that Jesus was going to die. He told them He’s going to die, and they still didn’t get it. Isn’t that right? So just because we hear something, does that mean we got it?

▶ 5:42 No. No, in fact, Peter said, “Well, you can’t die. We’re not going to let you die.” They wanted to be in charge of others, the first, you know, they wanted to be number one. They wanted to build three tabernacles when Jesus was transfigured. They wanted to build one for Jesus, one for Moses, and one for Elijah. See, they got it all wrong, and these are the apostles, the chosen twelve. John the Baptist, after declaring that Jesus was the One to come and take away the sins of the world, check this out. After John the Baptist declared and baptized Jesus, then a little bit later he sends his disciples to Jesus and said, “Are You the One?” And yet in this day and hour, these guys are proclaiming they got all this knowledge.

Scripture (NKJV)

Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 11:2-3 (NKJV)

And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”

— Matthew 11:2-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:24 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What does he say about prophecy writers who keep revising their predictions?

▶ Watch this part (6:37)

Short answer: He says the author of a popular end-time book “has changed his theory twelve times that I know of, because he predicted some things that did not happen, so he had to rewrite his book, and people bought it again.” He then introduces today’s topic, “six of the seven seals,” and notes that Daniel “was told to shut up the words and seal the book.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:37 And the guy that wrote The Late Great Planet Earth, Hal Lindsay, has changed his theory twelve times that I know of, because he predicted some things that did not happen, so he had to rewrite his book, and people bought it again. And they just keep buying it, like Hal Lindsay got some kind of personal insight that no one else has. Are you with me? So with that in our cranial vacuum, we don’t have a cranial vacuum anymore, we got something in there, you know, let’s just keep this thing simple. All right, what are we teaching on today? Six of the seven seals. You remember in the book of Daniel, Daniel himself, that they use to twist Scriptures and get these ideas, was told to shut up the words and seal the book.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Daniel 12:4 (NKJV)

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

— Daniel 12:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:31 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

Could we be hearing Revelation without understanding it, like Daniel? (Daniel 12:8)

▶ Watch this part (7:36)

Short answer: He says Daniel said, “I heard, but I understood not,” and asks, “could it be possible, when we read the book of Revelation, we are hearing but we’re not getting much understanding out of it?” He says “we don’t always understand things, and there’s nothing wrong with it.” When Jesus came the first time, “they started understanding as things happened,” and “all their charts didn’t amount to anything,” so at His second coming “we may be totally wrong in saying how He’s going to do it.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 7:36 Are you there? And in the last chapter, when the angel is talking to Daniel, Daniel says, “I heard, but I understood not.” Could it be possible, when we read the book of Revelation, we are hearing but we’re not getting much understanding out of it? And Daniel, who was one of the three heroes of the Old Testament, did not understand what the angel was saying. Could it be possible we don’t always understand things, and there’s nothing wrong with it? And this is the point: when Jesus came the first time, they started understanding as things happened, the virgin conceiving and having a child.

▶ 8:25 See, then as it was preached and as it happened, then they started what? Getting understanding. All their charts didn’t amount to anything, all their programs and all their ideas they come up with had to be thrown out when it started happening. And it could be the same way when Jesus comes the second time. When He starts doing something, we’re going to go, “Oh, that’s what that is! Oh, that’s what that is!” Because God is doing something again, and we can identify it as He does it, and we may be totally wrong in saying how He’s going to do it. Could that be a good amen? Hallelujah.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Daniel 12:8 (NKJV)

Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?”

— Daniel 12:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:44 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What is the book with seven seals in Revelation 5:5, and what other books does the Bible mention? (Revelation 5:5; 20:12; Isaiah 29:11)

▶ Watch this part (9:06)

Short answer: He calls this “a college course. This isn’t for wimps. This is serious teaching.” He reads Revelation 5:5 about the Lion of the tribe of Judah who “hath prevailed to open the book and to loose the seven seals thereof,” and says the Bible tells us “about eight books in the Bible itself,” including the Book of Life and the book of our works in Revelation 20:12, where “everything we did, everything we say is written there.” He then rules out the Scriptures themselves and the judgment book of Israel and Babylon, and raises the sealed book Isaiah saw.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:06 And with that in your head, I told you this is a college course. This isn’t for wimps. This is serious teaching. You know, in college you listen to the professor and then you got to go home and study for hours to get it. Are you there? So we got a bunch of non-wimps in here this morning. You came to hear this tough teaching, hard to sit there. Okay, we got a picture of the Lamb, and the seven seals are open, there, of the book in Revelation 5:5: “The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book and to loose the seven seals thereof.” What book? The Bible tells us about eight books in the Bible itself.

▶ 10:04 The Book of Life, you know, if our name’s in there, we go to heaven, if it’s not, we’re in trouble. The book of our works, in Revelation 20:12, everything we did, everything we say is written there, and if we’re in the Book of Life, we’re not judged out of the things in the book of works. Hallelujah. Anyway, we know it’s not that book. We certainly know it’s not the Scriptures, the Bible itself, because Jesus opened understanding to them. We know it’s not the judgment book of Israel and Babylon and Jeremiah, because that was to them. We know that the sealed book that Isaiah saw could be it. This is a sealed book. Isaiah saw a sealed book, but it was sealed, it wasn’t opened, and so it just goes on. He saw a sealed book and that’s it.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Revelation 5:5 (NKJV)

But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

— Revelation 5:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:46
Scripture (NKJV)

Revelation 20:12 (NKJV)

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.

— Revelation 20:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:11
Scripture (NKJV)

Isaiah 29:11 (NKJV)

The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, “Read this, please.” And he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”

— Isaiah 29:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:43 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

Could the book be Isaiah’s, Ezekiel’s or Daniel’s sealed book, or the book of remembrance? (Ezekiel 2:9-10; Daniel 12:4; Luke 21:20; Exodus 17:14)

▶ Watch this part (10:59)

Short answer: He considers whether it is the sealed book Isaiah saw, the book of woe in Ezekiel, or Daniel’s sealed book, and says “there’s a lot of woes when this book starts getting opened.” He says that in Luke, “when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh,” so “the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD was the fulfillment of Daniel,” and “some of Daniel’s book was open, so I doubt it’s Daniel’s book.” He also considers the book of remembrance in Exodus 17:14 and says, “I doubt it’s that book, because people have been sinning ever since.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:59 The book was locked up and stayed locked up, so maybe that could be it. The book of woe in Ezekiel that Ezekiel saw could be, because there’s a lot of woes when this book starts getting opened, there’s a lot of woes. And then the sealed book of Daniel that I told you about earlier, seal the book, all those things he saw, he said seal it up until the last days, but we got some revelation of Daniel’s sealed book. When Jesus came, Jesus said that the abomination of desolation, when you see that, you know that the time is nigh, in Matthew 13:14 and in Mark. But in Luke it says, “When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.” So we know that the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD was the fulfillment of Daniel. We know that, so at least part of Daniel’s sealed book was opened up, if not all of it, then. And so Daniel’s book could have been fulfilled during Jesus’s birth, death, and resurrection, and the church period, the early church period.

▶ 12:19 Are you with me? Because we have some insight that some of Daniel’s book was open, so I doubt it’s Daniel’s book. Hallelujah. And we also know that Jesus came and all that in that book of Daniel. And then you got the book of remembrance. In Exodus 17:14, Amalek came and attacked Israel and picked on the stragglers and the weak ones, and God says, “I’m going to have a book of remembrance for him.” And a few hundred years later, sure enough, God says, “Okay, it’s time to judge Amalek for what he did back there to Israel and the weak ones and the straggling.” He picked on the stragglers and the weak ones, and He had Saul to rise up and destroy that nation and that king. Are you there? And so I doubt it’s that book, because people have been sinning ever since

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”

— Exodus 17:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:38

What does he say the book in Revelation is, and how can a record in the book of remembrance be erased?

▶ Watch this part (13:18)

Short answer: He says “most likely the book in Revelation is its own book. It’s the book of wrath. It’s a book that explains God’s day of wrath that already has been explained throughout the Scriptures. It’s not a fresh new revelation.” He says “when you do things, God remembers,” but you can get it erased by repenting: “That’s the power of the blood. The power of the blood is endless, and there is nothing it can’t cleanse.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:18 Eve. And yes, there’s a book of remembrance, and He does come to correct and deal with that. Most likely the book in Revelation is its own book. It’s the book of wrath. It’s a book that explains God’s day of wrath that already has been explained throughout the Scriptures. It’s not a fresh new revelation. Are you with me? I wanted you to know there’s eight books in the Bible. See, there is a book of remembrance. When you do things, God remembers. All right, you can get it erased by what? Repenting. Absolutely. “I was wrong.” That’s the power of the blood. The power of the blood is endless, and there is nothing it can’t cleanse. Don’t ever forget that. And a simple humbling yourself and admitting you’re wrong and asking forgiveness and cleansing gets it done.

Who rides the first horse in the seven seals, and does the Bible say it is the Antichrist? (Revelation 6:1-2)

▶ Watch this part (14:13)

Short answer: He says “we feel like we got to interpret the stuff, and this is where we get into our problem.” The first horse is “a white horse with a rider that has a crown and a bow,” going “conquering and to conquer.” He says most interpreters say it is the Antichrist, but “it never says in the Bible that the Antichrist rides a white horse.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 14:13 Hallelujah, that’s the bottom line. Now, let’s go. Okay, here we are, the four horsemen. The seven seals are going to be opened here. And here comes the interpretations of all these things. We feel like we got to interpret the stuff, and this is where we get into our problem. All right, we get four horses. The first one is a white horse with a rider that has a crown and a bow, and this horse and rider, they go conquering and to conquer. See, now they say that this is a war horse and rider, or most of them say this is the Antichrist. It never says in the Bible that the Antichrist rides a white horse.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Revelation 6:1-2 (NKJV)

Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

— Revelation 6:1-2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:45 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What does he say the Bible teaches about “antichrist”? (1 John 2:18; 4:2-3)

▶ Watch this part (15:16)

Short answer: He says “it never says that the Antichrist is some one person that’s going to rise up in the earth,” and “we conjure up these things and then we go to the Scripture to fit them in, and this is our problem.” He says the apostle John “said there are many antichrists” because “they oppose Christ,” saying “Christ hasn’t come in the flesh, He wasn’t the Word that came in the flesh, He wasn’t God.” He says “the Jews who do not believe Jesus has come the first time, they are what? Antichrist,” and adds, “That’s the truth. They oppose Jesus.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 15:16 Never. It never says that the Antichrist is some one person that’s going to rise up in the earth. Never says that anywhere. We conjure up these things and then we go to the Scripture to fit them in, and this is our problem. You see, John, the apostle John himself, said there are many antichrists. You see why? Because they oppose Christ. They say Christ hasn’t come in the flesh, He wasn’t the Word that came in the flesh, He wasn’t God. That’s antichrist. That’s opposing Christ. And so the Jews who do not believe Jesus has come the first time, they are what? Antichrist. Oh, you can’t say that, that’s intolerance. That’s the truth. They oppose Jesus, and God was

Who is the rider on the white horse in Revelation 19:11, and what about the crowns and the bow? (Revelation 19:11-15; 4:10)

▶ Watch this part (16:10)

Short answer: Reading Revelation 19:11, he says “now we got somebody on a white horse,” called “Faithful and True,” and answers the objection about one crown versus many: “when the elders bow before Him, they cast their crowns. He put them back on His head.” He says “you find Jesus came also with a bow and with an arrow,” and “the bottom line is it doesn’t tell us who this white horse rider is.” He says the messages to the seven churches tell them to “be overcomers.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:10 Jesus. Amen. That’s what the Scripture says, and that’s all the authority we have to preach, is what the Scripture says. But now we do have a Scripture in Revelation that tells us about a white horse. In Revelation 19:11, there was a white horse, and “he that sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. And on his head were many crowns, and out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, with it he shall smite the nations that war against him and his army.” Now we got somebody on a white horse, but they say, “Well, the one here is one crown, and over there it’s many crowns.” Well, dummy, when the elders bow before Him, they cast their crowns. He put them back on His head.

▶ 17:03 That’s as good a theory as yours. You think you’re going to get any honor when you stand before Jesus Himself? You’re going to give it back to Him. Why? You wouldn’t have any honor if it wasn’t for Him. So yeah, He’s going to wear your crown, because He’s the one empowered you to get your crown. Hallelujah. He says, “Well, He’s got a bow and not a sword.” Yes, but if you go through the Scriptures, you find Jesus came also with a bow and with an arrow. All right, so He can use the sword, the bow and arrow, they’re both the Word of God. But the bottom line is it doesn’t tell us who this white horse rider is. That’s the bottom line, it just says this guy. Now, does Jesus, is Jesus conquering? Yes. Is He going to conquer? Absolutely. It describes Him in the messages to the seven churches. Did He tell all of them to rise up and be conquerors? Yeah, be overcomers.

He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. What does he say about conquering and overcoming through Christ?

▶ Watch this part (18:16)

Short answer: He says “how do we overcome? Through Jesus Christ,” and asks how many “have conquered things in your life through Christ.” He says “that’s the King of kings and the Lord of lords riding on His white horse. He is conquering, He is going to conquer, and He has conquered.” He says “the Bible never says the Antichrist rides a white horse, or the Antichrist has a crown, or the Antichrist has power to conquer people for God and win people to Christ.”

▶ 18:16 Hallelujah. And how do we overcome? Through Jesus Christ. Amen. How many of you are conquering? Have conquered things in your life through Christ? How many things are being conquered right now? They’re not quite down, but they’re being conquered, and how many of you go looking tomorrow for some other things to be conquered in your life? Yeah, that’s the King of kings and the Lord of lords riding on His white horse. He is conquering, He is going to conquer, and He has conquered. Amen. That’s as good a theory as them things that the Antichrist, where do you get that from? Because you’re wanting to build a theory you already wanted to reach, and so you’re grabbing for things, and you just say it means that. You cannot just say it means that when the Bible doesn’t say that. And the Bible never says the Antichrist rides a white horse, or the Antichrist has a crown, or the Antichrist has power to conquer people for God and win people to Christ. Are you with me?

What does he say about the red horse and God “smiting” the nations? (Revelation 6:3-4; Acts 2:37)

▶ Watch this part (19:27)

Short answer: He asks, “Is God wanting to smite the nations, the people? Isn’t that what He did on the day of Pentecost? Their hearts were smitten.” He describes the second horse as “a red horse with a huge sword” given “power to take peace from the earth so that men slaughter one another,” and says “He isn’t slaughtering anyone, they’re slaughtering what? One another.” The theory people, he says, “call this anarchy, the absence of government.”

▶ 19:27 Now, hallelujah. Is God wanting to smite the nations, the people? Isn’t that what He did on the day of Pentecost? Their hearts were smitten. Amen. How many of you had your heart smitten? Yeah, about Christ. Yeah, a change of heart. Absolutely. That fits way more into this Antichrist thing. Can I hear an amen? Amen. Now, the second horse is a red horse with a huge sword. Empowered, he’s been given power to take peace from the earth so that men slaughter one another. He isn’t slaughtering anyone, they’re slaughtering what? One another. The theory people call this anarchy, the absence of government, the disorder and the lawlessness that’s coming.

Does he say wars and earthquakes are signs that the end has come? (Mark 13:7-8)

▶ Watch this part (20:29)

Short answer: He says wars and killing have been “going on since the beginning,” and reads Mark 13:7 that such things “must needs be, but the end is not yet.” He says people call wars, earthquakes, volcanoes and hurricanes “the sign of the end,” but “Jesus said just the opposite.” In his words, “that’s no indication of the second coming,” and when people tell us what to believe, “we interpret the Bible to believe what they told us to believe, and yet Jesus Himself said just the opposite.”

▶ 20:29 But let me submit to you, this has been going on since the beginning. People killing one another, hurting one another, it’s been going on ever since the earth started. In Mark 13:7 it says, “When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled. Such things must needs be, but the end is not yet. For a nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be earthquakes in different places, and there will be famines and troubles. And these are the beginning of sorrows.” But the what? End is not yet. Did you hear that? And what do they say? “Oh, all these wars and earthquakes and volcanoes exploding and hurricanes, that’s the sign of the end.” Jesus said just the opposite. He said, [unclear], wars and rumors of war were going to happen, but what? The end, the second coming, is not yet. In other words, that’s no indication of the second coming. Are you out there?

▶ 21:47 But see, when they tell us what to believe, and when we read the Bible, we interpret the Bible to believe what they told us to believe, and yet Jesus Himself said just the opposite. Are you there? You see, and so people have been killing people ever since.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added by hand, and obvious caption errors were corrected; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: he says “Matthew 13:14 and in Mark” for the abomination of desolation, which is Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14; the captions read “Revelations 55” and “Revelations 2012” for Revelation 5:5 and 20:12, and “Revelations 1911” for Revelation 19:11. In Mark 13:7 he reads “a wars” (“wars”). He refers by name to the author of a well-known end-time book (about 6:37 and 6:50); the name is left out of the answers. One phrase before “wars and rumors of war were going to happen” (about 21:20) is garbled and is marked [unclear]. He applies the word “antichrist” to Jews who do not believe Jesus came (about 15:20), which is shown as he said it. Select any time to jump to that moment on YouTube.
