Six Irrational Beliefs: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Pastor David G. Kincer shows six irrational New Testament beliefs—the Sadducees, the Pharisees, the resurrection already past, circumcision for salvation, marriage in heaven, and a natural kingdom—then six questionable doctrines today: the imminent return, a pre-tribulation rapture, staying out of politics, all religions leading to God, America in prophecy, and faith alone. We are saved by his love unto good works.
What did the Sadducees wrongly deny?
Short answer: Acts 23:8: the Sadducees, from whom the high priest came, said there is no resurrection, angel or spirit—though Job and the Psalms speak of the resurrection, angels appear throughout the Bible, and the Spirit came on Samson and David. Extreme people get an idea and distort scripture to fit it.
▶ 0:00 In the New Testament the New Testament is going to. Expose. Six. Unreasonable. Illogical. Irrational and extreme beliefs first we’re going to go to acts. 238 Acts 238 says the Sadducees which is a religious group of the Jews back then like the catholic and the protestants are today the Sadducees say there’s no resurrection angel nor spirit now the Sadducees is the group the religious group that the high priest came out of so the leader of the temple in Jerusalem was a sadducee and they didn’t even believe in the resurrection which if you go to the Old Testament scriptures job says I know my redeemer lives and I will stand before him in the last days and I will see him for myself not another and in the Psalms God will not leave my soul in the grave and there’s other scriptures of the resurrection but like extreme people they just get an idea and then they distort things to uh fit their idea their belief no angels angels visited Abraham angels visited.
Scripture in this part
Acts 23:8 (NKJV)
For Sadducees say that there is no resurrection—and no angel or spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.
— Acts 23:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:00What was the Pharisees’ problem?
Short answer: Matthew 23:3: the Pharisees taught right doctrine but didn’t live it. Matthew 5:20: unless your righteousness exceeds theirs you won’t enter the kingdom. Jesus warned of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees, who teach the doctrines of men and honor him with their lips while their hearts are far away.
▶ 1:30 Lot you know angels are all through the Bible both new and Old Testament and yet they say there’s no angels the spirit the Bible says I will pour out my spirit on all flesh in the last days they didn’t believe in that just like a lot of people don’t believe in it today and the spirit of the Lord came upon Samson the spirit of the Lord came upon David spirit of the Lord came up this person that person and so forth. Yet they did not believe in the Spirit but the Pharisees confessed all of these the problem with the Pharisees in Matthew. 23:3 is the Pharisees and scribes say the right stuff they believe in the ten commandments they believe in angels and resurrection and spirit they just don’t do.
▶ 2:24 It they commit adultery they steal they lie and know they dishonor their parents they taught the right doctrine they just never lived it Matthew 5:20 says except your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees you won’t even enter the kingdom of heaven and so righteousness is part of God’s plan to get into the eternities not just believing like the Pharisees did but doing what God said to do in Matthew 15:9 and 16:12 Jesus said beware of the doctrine of the Pharisees and the scribes and the Sadducees beware of those doctrines so doctrine is important and Jesus said they teach for doctrines the doctrines of men they come up with their own.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 23:3 (NKJV)
Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.
— Matthew 23:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:11Matthew 5:20 (NKJV)
For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 5:20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:36Matthew 16:12 (NKJV)
Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
— Matthew 16:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:24Matthew 15:8-9 (NKJV)
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
— Matthew 15:8-9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:17 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What was the error of Hymenaeus and Philetus?
Short answer: 2 Timothy 2:17–18: they strayed from the truth, saying the resurrection is already past. He says you can’t stray from something you weren’t with, so once-saved-always-saved is bogus. Some saints rose when Jesus rose, but Christ died for the whole world, so there must be another resurrection.
▶ 3:18 Concoctions instead of the scriptures he says these Pharisees they give me lip service they profess me with their mouth but they don’t know me. Their heart their mind their emotions are far from me and so we are to exceed the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees and not be fooled by that kind of doctrine unreasonable irrational. Teachings the second one is 2 Timothy 2:17 Hymenaeus and Philetus have strayed from the truth you see now that. That really is a scripture that says once saved always saved is. Bogus you see you don’t stray from something you weren’t.
▶ 4:10 Weren uh with you have to be with it to stray from it and these guys strayed from the truth and this is how they strayed from the truth they said the resurrection is already passed and they weren’t quite about it they didn’t keep it to themselves they went out and [unclear] people and destroyed their faith and the rational thinking is when Jesus died on the cross the graves were open of the patriarchs of old scores of the patriarch’s graves were open the Bible says and when Jesus rose on that Sunday morning these saints of old rose also and they appeared to many in Jerusalem they went and knocked on door they talked to people and so they had a rational reason as well the resurrection’s already passed but the irrational thinking is you’re going to take a few a few scores of patriarchs are going to make it in the rapture and the everybody else is going to stay in the grave it doesn’t make sense does.
Scripture in this part
2 Timothy 2:17-18 (NKJV)
And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.
— 2 Timothy 2:17-18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:48Matthew 27:52-53 (NKJV)
and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
— Matthew 27:52-53 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:39 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Must you be circumcised to be saved?
Short answer: Acts 15:1 taught circumcision was required, which would leave women out. Circumcision was a shadow of water baptism (Colossians 2:11–12). Ananias told Paul to be baptized and wash away his sins (Acts 22:16), and Acts 2 calls for repentance in Jesus’ name for remission of sins and the Holy Spirit.
▶ 5:18 It that’s irrational there has to be another resurrection Christ didn’t die for just the patriarchs of old he died for the sins of the whole world the people of the whole world and he will resurrect them and so here two people united together to go and teach a doctrine that was extreme and totally irrational but they could use scriptures to prove it they’re thinking but if they balance the scriptures out it doesn’t work it is extreme and it is irrational in Acts 15:1 certain men from Judea taught the brethren except you be circumcised after the manner of Moses you cannot be saved now we know that circumcision is the cutting off of the foreskin of the male.
▶ 6:15 Genital now the problem with if you got to be circumcised to be saved what do women. Do you see they can’t be saved or they’re so pure and us men are so bad that we have to have a little extra thing thrown in to get us. Saved you see see it’s irrational it’s unreasonable it’s. Extreme. And they ignored the Scriptures circumcision was a shadow law of water baptism. Paul made it plain in Colossians 2:11 you have put off the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ buried with him and risen with him in water.
▶ 7:17 Baptism you see circumcision was a shadow law pointing to water baptism that would be used of God to cleanse you from your sin am. Amen in Acts 22:16. Paul Ananias came to Paul there after his eyes were blinded now they’re open and Ananias said Paul what are you waiting for rise up get water baptized to wash away your sins and you shall be filled with the Holy Spirit and you call on Jesus in Acts 2 repent every one of you in the name of the Lord Jesus. Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the Holy Spirit it’s a package deal repentance Holy Spirit forgiveness.
Scripture in this part
Acts 15:1 (NKJV)
And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”
— Acts 15:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:55Colossians 2:11-12 (NKJV)
In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
— Colossians 2:11-12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:15Acts 22:16 (NKJV)
And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
— Acts 22:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:33Acts 2:38 (NKJV)
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
— Acts 2:38 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:04 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Is there marriage in heaven?
Short answer: The Sadducees tried to trick Jesus with the woman married to seven brothers. Jesus said they don’t know the scriptures or God’s power: in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are as the angels. No marriage, sex or virgins in heaven, and no reincarnation—it is appointed once to die, then the judgment.
▶ 8:15 Deliverance but they ignore these scriptures and these teachings in Matthew. 22:9 here’s the Sadducees again they come down to trick Jesus and they said Jesus you know there was this guy now remember they don’t believe in a resurrection so publicly they tried to trick Jesus and they said there’s this guy that he married a woman and he died and his brother married her and he died and the next brother married her and he died and so forth now in the resurrection whose wife is she going to be and they thought they had Jesus because to them. You’re going to be married in heaven and a lot of people believe that malarkey. Today and Jesus says you are you are very mistaken because you don’t understand the scriptures and you don’t understand the power of God in the resurrection they don’t marry they are not given in marriage they are as the angels angels are spirits there’s no marriage in heaven there’s no sex in heaven there’s no virgins in heaven for you men so get over.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 22:23-30 (NKJV)
The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, saying: “Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.” Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.
— Matthew 22:23-30 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:25 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV)
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
— Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:42 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Can believers still hold extreme beliefs?
Short answer: Acts 21:20: thousands of Jews believed in Jesus yet were zealous of the shadow laws—circumcision, sacrifices, diet and the temple. Wanting to keep old rituals, they seized Paul to kill him until the Roman soldier stepped in. Believers can hold extreme beliefs they’ll kill over.
▶ 9:43 It and there’s no. Reincarnation it’s appointed a man wants to die and after death the judgment you don’t come back as anything you had your chance here and that’s why we need the scriptures that’s why we need the Bible to keep us solid in knowledge and understanding and on the right. Track then we have in acts. 21 Paul goes down to Jerusalem to keep the feast he’s in there shaved his head and he’s keeping the feast and worshiping. God and uh these Jews began to recognize who he is and he had been talking teaching the Gentiles and telling the Gentiles that they don’t need to be circumcised and you know they don’t need to keep these shadow laws and so forth and so these thousands of Jews which believe what kind of Jews were they believers what did they believe in Jesus Christ the savior they believed in Jesus were they saved yes they were saved folks he said there’s thousands of them and they’re.
▶ 11:02 Believers okay but what is their irrational. Problem they are all zealous of the law zealous of what law civil law no wise laws no spiritual laws no they’re zealous of shadow laws they want to keep their circumcision that Paul was saying we don’t do now they want to keep sacrificing animals which Paul said we don’t do that now Jesus is the sacrifice they don’t keep the diet. Anymore you see the diet was an illustration of righteousness Christ our righteousness he makes us righteous we don’t need to not eat shrimp or catfish or pig we can eat it now we we don’t have to abstain from it because it was a sh.
▶ 12:00 Aot the temple they were zealous of the temple the temple was just a building we are the temple of God Paul taught all these things and so they got mad they they still they wanted to believe in Jesus but they wanted to keep their old cultural rituals and and and and beliefs so they rejected the truths that worked and they wanted to keep they wanted to believe in Jesus but keep. These uh example. Laws and they actually went and seized Paul and they were going to kill him until the roman soldier stepped in and so believers can be. Believers and they can still have some extreme beliefs in their life and believes that they will kill you over.
Scripture in this part
Acts 21:20 (NKJV)
And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord. And they said to him, “You see, brother, how many myriads of Jews there are who have believed, and they are all zealous for the law;
— Acts 21:20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:38 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why did many miss Jesus as King?
Short answer: Mark 15:2: Jesus was the King of the Jews, but they wanted a natural kingdom restored and said “he’s not our king.” Pilate gave in and washed his hands. Even the apostles asked about restoring the kingdom to Israel (Acts 1:6), forgetting the kingdom is within you (Luke 17:21); in John 6 they tried to make him king by force.
▶ 12:59 They’re going to kill Paul the last one Mark 152 Jesus was brought before Pilate and Pilate says are you the king of the Jews he was arrested for saying he was the king of the Jews was he the king of the Jews yes was he the king of every nation yeah he was saying the telling the truth but the Jews did not believe that they’ve believed that a king was coming that would set up their natural kingdom again restore their natural kingdom and rule here on earth that’s what they were looking for they were looking for that kind of king and Jesus didn’t come that way but he was still what king of the Jews and so Pilate believed.
▶ 13:51 Jesus Jesus convinced Pilate that he was king of the Jews and Pilate went out to the people and he and he brought Jesus out and said said behold your king and they go well he’s not our king and then Pilate again says this is Jesus king of the Jews this is your king and they go no he’s not our king and he was their king so he says what would you want me to do with the king of the Jews and they said.
▶ 14:26 Crucify and so Pilate knew and Pilate’s wife told him don’t mess with this guy she had some dreams and stuff and she says don’t mess with this guy so Pilate went and gave into the crowd and then washed his hands like some kind of ritual is going to uh save him from a bad decision in Acts 1:6 the apostles are caught up into this thing here’s Jesus he he was resurrected he came back to visit the apostles he’s teaching the apostles he’s there on the last day and before he ascends they say are you going to at this time restore the kingdom to Israel give us our natural land back our our borders back see why cuz they were looking that’s what they were looking for they were looking for a prophet they were looking for a messiah and they were looking for a king because the scripture said they were going to come they had no idea that all three was in Jesus Christ and then they forgot these apostles that in Luke 17:21 Jesus said the kingdom of God is within you what he saying I come to rule and reign in your life over.
▶ 15:44 You okay they forgot about. That in John. 6:14 Jesus had just fed the multitudes with a few loaves and a few fishes. And the people began to say this is that prophet that should come into the world I told you the Jews then were looking for the prophet that was promised like Moses the messiah that was promised to save the world and the king that was promised to come they were looking for them and here they realized that Jesus is the prophet and Jesus is the king and Jesus perceived that they would take him by force to make him a king and so he departed from him so they could not do that you see they were so stuck on their interpretation of the Scriptures.
▶ 16:42 To a natural kingdom being restored and a natural king over them they could not see Jesus for their own interpretation of scriptures and I submit to you isn’t that true today. Let’s look at six questionable doctrines today all. Right if believers could be. Fooled and could be extreme in the new. Testament and they could be. Irrational in the New Testament during Christ time the apostles time is possible we can be extreme and unreasonable.
Scripture in this part
Mark 15:2 (NKJV)
Then Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” He answered and said to him, “It is as you say.”
— Mark 15:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:59Acts 1:6 (NKJV)
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
— Acts 1:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:47Luke 17:21 (NKJV)
nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
— Luke 17:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:33John 6:14-15 (NKJV)
Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.
— John 6:14-15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:49What does he say about the imminent return and pre-tribulation rapture?
Short answer: He says Jesus comes at an appointed time, after unfulfilled prophecies: a coming move of God, natural Israel grafted back in so all Israel is saved, and the gospel preached to all nations as a witness with signs and wonders. Jesus said in the world you will have tribulation, and he comes after the great tribulation.
▶ 17:35 Today yes and how many don’t want to do that I I don’t want to do that God help me deliver me from extremism and and deliver me from un being an unreasonable person that won’t accept the truth because I got some cocky ideal in my head of what’s. Right and that’s what Paul said said deliver us from unreasonable people and that could be. Me you looking in the mirror deliver me from my unreasonable. Self so let’s look at the imminent return of Jesus number one the Bible says he will come at the appointed time how many you know if there’s an appointed time it’s not just any time.
▶ 18:30 Ain’t that right if you’re waiting for the airport the plane at the airport how many you know there’s an appointed time it’s going to depart it’s going to arrive. Yes all right now Paul said we could hasten the coming of the Lord did you know that how do we hasten it by. Righteousness and what does that tell us that tells us there is a move of God coming folks. God’s not done visiting this earth there is a move of God coming where the church is going to live up to being a light to the world that people see our good works. Hallelujah that’s not the only problem with the imminent return and this is a very popular teaching out.
▶ 19:24 There the Bible says that all the prophecies will be fulfilled before before Jesus comes well there’s some prophecies that haven’t been. Fulfilled let’s take the olive. Tree the olive tree the natural branches were cut off in Romans and the wild olive the Gentiles me and you were grafted in to Jesus the olive tree and he said if you can be grafted in then the natural branches that were cut off could also be grafted back. In a’t that what it said and then he makes this statement so that all Israel shall be.
▶ 20:17 Saved now folks Israel has their nation back their natural land back but like 60 70% of those in Israel are atheists they don’t believe in God but here we see that God’s going to visit natural Israel and what bring them to the savior Jesus Christ and graft them back in so again there is a visitation of God coming on the earth that’s going to draw in the Jews the Bible says that the gospel will be preached to all nations the gospel shall be preached to all nations as a witness.
▶ 21:01 All right in Hebrews it says that God bore witness with the apostles through signs and wonders and different miracles and gifts of the Holy Ghost and we see the apostles going out and you know they’re raising the dead and and and they’re being stoned and coming back to life and all kinds of miracles all kinds of signs and wonders are happening back in the early church but the Bible says there’s going to be a witness of the gospel before Jesus comes we’re talking about a river that’s going to flood this earth with signs and wonders bringing witness that the gospel of Jesus Christ his death his burial his resurrection he born of a virgin he is the savior he is the healer he is the miracle worker that the world is going to come like they did at the early church time church raptured before the great tribulation this is the problem you got Jesus said in the world you will have what tribulation.
Scripture in this part
Romans 11:23-26 (NKJV)
And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
— Romans 11:23-26 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:13 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Matthew 24:14 (NKJV)
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
— Matthew 24:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:50 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Matthew 24:29-30 (NKJV)
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
— Matthew 24:29-30 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:08 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Should Christians stay out of government?
Short answer: He says the teaching that civil government is Satan’s to give is destructive. Scripture says when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice, and he who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God; why turn government over to the children of Satan?
▶ 22:09 H Jesus said through much tribulation you enter what the kingdom. H and when Jesus talked about his second coming he plainly. Said after the great tribulation of those days you shall see the sign of the son of man coming in heaven civil government is Satan’s to give they take this out of Jesus when he was in the desert and Satan came to t tempt him in the last one was if you worship me I’ll give you the kingdoms of the world for they are mine to give and so as a big do especially in the fundamental circles big doctrine to stay out of politics. They’re of the Devil but when you go to the Bible it says when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice oh the righteous.
Scripture in this part
Proverbs 29:2 (NKJV)
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
— Proverbs 29:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 23:03 (quoted; reference not named in the message)2 Samuel 23:3 (NKJV)
The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: ‘He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God.
— 2 Samuel 23:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 23:10 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Do all religions lead to the same God?
Short answer: He says popular teachers claim anyone gets into the kingdom, but the Bible says the Lord thy God is one Lord and there is none beside him. Jesus said no one comes to God but by him; either he lied or he is truth.
▶ 23:11 Wouldn’t it be wise to have righteous leaders rather than corrupt leaders. Amen he that ruleth over men the Bible says must be just ruling in the fear of God the fear of God is to depart from evil and yet they don’t want us to be involved in government they want to turn it over to the children of Satan and this is a this is a very destructive teaching and it’s still rampant in America and we’ve exported it to our third world nations we export a lot of our junk through missionaries to third world nations all religions lead to the same God. Oprah Winfrey, Joel
▶ 24:04 Osteen, these people they say this even homosexuals are making it into the kingdom adulterers can get into the kingdom anybody can get into the kingdom when the Bible says the Lord thy God is one Lord there is none other beside thee thou alone art. Thou alone are God there is only one God there’s only one way there’s only one truth there’s only one life and that is the God of the Bible the Jesus of the Bible the way of the Bible and the truth of the Bible there is only one God there’s one way one truth one life Jesus said no man comes into God but by me either he lied.
Scripture in this part
Deuteronomy 6:4 (NKJV)
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!
— Deuteronomy 6:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:22 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 14:6 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
— John 14:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:53 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Is the United States in Bible prophecy?
Short answer: He says he has looked thoroughly and the United States is not in the Bible. America is a great industrial nation that has accomplished much in a short time, but that doesn’t mean it is prophesied.
▶ 25:00 And we are following a lie or he’s truth and he bears witness of the truth by his spirit in us the united states of America is in Bible. Prophecy the brethren have a real hard time with me when they bring up the united states in Bible. Prophecy it is not in the Bible I have looked thoroughly for it they use scriptures and Revelation and the Ezekiel and Daniel. To symbolize and all this America because we’re a are a great nation we’re a great industrial nation no nation has accomplished what America has accomplished in the short time that it’s been a nation that is true but that doesn’t mean it is prophesied in the Bible but none of them are more questionable than saved by faith alone.
Scripture in this part
Daniel 2:44 (NKJV)
And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
— Daniel 2:44 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:28 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Are we saved by faith alone?
Short answer: James 2:24: a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. Ephesians 2:8–9: no work qualifies you to be saved from sin, wrath and the lake of fire, but verse 10 says we are his workmanship created unto good works that make families, communities and nations strong.
▶ 25:58 It does not say that in the Bible number one in. Fact in James 2:24 it. Says you see then that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone not by faith alone. When you go to Ephesians chapter 2:8 for by grace are we saved through faith and that not of itself that is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast they stop. There now folks there is no work that you can do to qualify to be saved from your sin saved from the day of wrath and save from the lake of fire that’s the three things that Jesus saved us from there’s no work that you can do but but when you go on to the next verse it says we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus.
▶ 27:06 unto good works we are his workmanship he is fashioning us to be people that do what good works which God had ordained that we should walk in them what is them good works you see it’s good works that keeps your family together and makes your family healthy it’s good works that makes a community healthy and strong it’s good works that makes a nation healthy and strong yes we can’t buy our way into being saved from sin and having eternal life and escaping the day of wrath and escaping the lake of fire but folks he saved us to be people that are light to the world that they may see your what good works and bring honor to who your father in heaven not you Isaiah 63:9 in his what.
Scripture in this part
James 2:24 (NKJV)
You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
— James 2:24 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 26:07Ephesians 2:8-10 (NKJV)
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
— Ephesians 2:8-10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 26:29What motivated God to save us?

About this transcript
This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: One word at 4:30 was not clear. Caption fixes: Hymenaeus and Philetus, Ananias, Oprah Winfrey and Joel Osteen (named as teaching all religions lead to God). He cites Matthew 22:9 for the Sadducees’ question (22:23–30), attributes hastening the Lord’s coming to Paul (2 Peter 3:12) and “through much tribulation” to Jesus (Acts 14:22, Paul and Barnabas). Unchecked: 60–70% of Israel atheist. Doctrinal positions kept as spoken: once saved always saved bogus, baptism washes away sins, not faith alone, no pre-tribulation rapture, US not in prophecy.
