What does Mrs. Barnes share?
Short answer: Never think you lack God’s Spirit; share God on Facebook—His word does not return void, so blow the trumpet.
▶ 30:55 Can you guys hear me. What happened. Can you guys hear us. I can I can hear you I can hear you okay all right mrs Barnes are you ready to share today. Sure okay okay all right I’m gonna have to hold on let me uh hand it over to you now I know there’s a little delay but this is mrs Barnes all the way from north carolina folks so go ahead mrs Barnes I just want to say I appreciate appreciate the body of Christ and even though I’m not their present I feel like I am their present because I just. I just appreciate is michael I appreciate you so much and I just want to encourage you that you are a great job and God is just speaking through you and you are ministering to me when I listen to you and I know to others and I know the sacrifice it is and because you’ve got your little kids and you’ve got responsibilities.
▶ 32:05 But never never think that you lack because you don’t lack God’s spirit looking mildly on your behalf when you open your mouth and I app so much but I would just like to share a little bit God has been speaking to me about sharing being more open to others around me and I have a really hard time doing that but I’ve been opening my mouth here and there but I I do like. I do like to share the word online and uh I I am a novice at it I mean I’m not very good not like Mr. Kincer I’m not comparing myself to him I’m just saying that he’s very skilled in it and and I’m I’m trying I’m working at it but um this song really hit me when it said his truth is marching on and it’s amazing how his word is so powerful and you can just say the simplest things and people will just their mouths will drop open and say oh my God I’ve never heard that people are lacking for for the truth they’re lacking to hear it and and we need to open our mouths in some way if it’s not printed on your t-shirt or printed uh online on.
▶ 33:22 Facebook about God and God will use it because his word does not turn void and now’s the time. And now is the time God wants us to blow that trumpet and blow it loud and because he he wants to reach people he loves people and it says dear children let us not love with words or speech but with actions and fruit so let’s join in together and start sharing God’s word more and I just want to tell that you guys I love you so much and I appreciate the vine church it’s it’s amazing we’re so far away but that love is still there that connection is still there and uh we’re going forward. Amen hallelujah. Thank you thank you.
What does Billy share?
Short answer: A song that opened his heart to seek God, and reaching people in the military and at his job.
▶ 34:16 Excellent. Billy were you gonna chime in just now I think I saw you. Mr mr Jacks I can’t say Billy everybody what am I doing I’m young can you hear me we can hear you yes okay all right praise God go ahead so uh I’m uh I’ve been sharing with tony and edie and uh lately uh I’ve I’ve been able to go down and spend some some precious and great time with them uh it’s uh there’s been a song that’s been on my heart for the last couple days I seek ye first the kingdom of God um and I I’m sure most of you know that. My uh my days at the vine as most of you know go way back it’s been what 47 years now and and uh I was raised in the catholic church and God yanked me and and placed me in the vine and it was the the best blessing that’s ever happened in my life and um.
▶ 35:22 This song. I’ve been singing off and on for the last couple days has has been. Has been opening my heart to seek God more and more and more you just I just we can’t get enough of him and of his word um we think sometimes that we we know a certain thing in in in his word and there’s just so much more to that to that one subject whether it be praise worship forgiveness whatever the subject is and I’ve.
▶ 35:54 I’ve been able I’ve been blessed God’s blessed me with the with the opportunity to reach out to people I’ve been all over the world and and and and teaching people in the military and now in my job and and now that I’ve that I’ve been able to to reach out to to some people at work of course it’s a little hard sometimes but I’ve been I’m talking a few people here and there and I was talking to some some young people last night and um and the subject was you know they’re they’re they’re going to church and you know they’re they’re committed to their church but yet they’re still doing some of the things that God’s word does not we’re not supposed to do those things and we were talking about the big subject I’ve been talking to tony and edie about this is alcohol um you know people people want to continue to do these things but you know God’s word does not allow us to do those things and we’re not supposed to do those things and and I was talking to a young lady last night she and I really opened her eyes on it and she says you know I never I never thought about it that way um I thought drunkenness was just going out and get drunk it was not just consuming the alcohol.
▶ 37:10 And uh so it really helped me to to seek to seek that subject with her and help and help her out and and some of the others that I work with and you know I’ve been blessed again to be taught by some of the best you know it’s like I’ve said I’ve I’ve only had really one pastor in my life and that’s been dave kinser and I’m just so thankful to God that God has been able to to allow me to to listen to to his to his sermons through the years it’s been a long time and you never forget the things that we’re taught sometimes we don’t we don’t follow through with with those things but we know what we’ve been taught and you know along with tony and edie and and you know some of the teachers at the divine school through the years we never forget those you know we we try to that the things that we don’t want to obey and follow through but we know what’s right and and and seeking those seeking those scriptures and those and those lessons and things that we were taught as young children and even as adults it’s it’s so precious to know God’s word is he’s so good to us he’s so patient with us and I’m I’m just so blessed that that we’re able to do this I was telling tony needy I’ve been you know having a struggle looking for for for a church that God would plant me in here locally here in the dc area but you know I was telling them I said I know that we need the we need the to be around the fellowship and and and
▶ 38:40 planning a church but you know my church has always been the vine and I feel with this I’m just so happy I just I I feel that michael your your your preaching has been just amazing to me and I thank you for your time and your dedication. Um for for this and that’s all I have for now. I don’t know if you can hear the applause. Thank you so much Billy we appreciate you joining us thank you for sharing all that that’s wonderful excellent God’s word is good I was sharing with the kids on Friday a scripture let no one despise your youth but be an example and we’re just encouraging the kids you know you want to be an example right like he was talking about the alcohol and you want to be an example with that kind of thing and in conduct and the way you talk and uh in love and we want to keep that stuff out of our lives amen.
What is shared from Texas?
Short answer: Genesis 18:19 for the new school’s cornerstone, a missionary from Ukraine, and passing faith to the next generation.
▶ 39:49 Amen uh miss Stephanie would you like to sh oh there’s more oh she said no there’s more people online. Uh who else is there on the list Mr. Kincer I see you on there Mr. Kincer would you like to share something. You’re going to have to unmute. Or at least say hello to all of us. Are you there. Hello yeah we’re here hey we are here there they are awesome uh would you guys like to take a moment to share I mean even if it’s just an update or whatever it is we’ll take it.
▶ 40:44 Yeah we so the scripture. Oh. The scripture that um we are thinking of putting on the cornerstone of the new school building. Is Genesis. Chapter 18 19. It’s talking about Abraham and how Abraham. Was to command his children and his household after him that they would keep the way of the Lord that they would do justice a judgment so we want what we’re doing to affect the future generations. And we know and everyone knows this generation is in so much need of knowing God and and experiencing.
▶ 41:36 Jesus to to a level that will affect them for the rest of their lives. So. We also had a there was a guest speaker from a missionary in from Ukraine. Last weekend and just reminded us that um. That. We and all of us we instill. So much uh of a foundation. Of the word of God from our pastor. Uh pastor. Um and everything we’ve learned over the years and we have to we’ve got to move forward with what we know to affect the next generation we can’t.
▶ 42:30 You know can’t just keep receiving receiving receive we gotta take it and run with it and give it to the next generation and that’s that’s our heart desire is to. Touch the next generation and um. And it was neat to see this missionary from Ukraine. Uh you know being everything going on crane. But um. That was exciting and we’re excited we got our first student. A couple weeks ago so. Um that’s been a huge blessing is that does that mean the building is done. No no it’s not going to be done all summer. It’s not going to be done till summer.
▶ 43:22 But um they’re coming to our house for now. Oh wow so we’re still out of our house. Are we having class in Marie’s room. Pretty much. Everybody’s everybody’s uh happy to see Marie in her face. That’s wonderful thank you so much blake you want to share something too. Well we’re really grateful and very fortunate to be able to be in the position that we’re in we are starting a school and uh we are going to let the Lord take our lives make it into his choosing like king David said we have a vision to preach God’s word to teach God’s word and to teach the future generation they are going to need to know who Jesus is so they will not be confused they can live a victorious life and overcome sin and help others overcome sin in their life we need to impact not only our community but the world for Jesus Christ and we believe like it says in Psalms that all nation and all people will turn back to Jesus and bow their knee and confess that he is king.
▶ 44:43 Amen. Excellent. It is so great to hear that update from Texas amen and uh she’s that’s so true you know we gotta can’t just keep taking in we gotta give it out and I think it’s so wonderful what you guys are doing over there I don’t know if you guys have seen the pictures on facebook and then digging the foundation but just it’s exciting because you can actually build in Texas california you’re not allowed to touch the ground anymore you know to build anything. I’m joking. Without unless you have you know 10 million dollars you know but in Texas you can do stuff amen guys come on I want to hear like a Texas uh you know uh God bless Texas or something what’s the sayings what do you got blake for a Texas saying God bless Texas.
▶ 45:40 Yes absolutely we asked the builder we go is there any permits or what and he goes no. No no permit. But we’re we’re in a very small country town very small so it’s it’s neat Marie yes Marie we can see your teeth that’s wonderful. All right Mr. Kincer are you there still can you hear us. I I can’t see him. Uh she’s saying you might need to take your heads up you might have to unclick on the mute button on your computer um you know there’s a there’s a little mic if it’s muted can you hear us Mr. Kincer he probably is he.
▶ 46:37 Oh okay Stephanie tells me you can hear us but we can’t hear you all right we’re gonna move on Mr. Kincer we love you you gotta get your mic figured out maybe next time uh all right miss Stephanie is here. Well that’s okay when he figures it out he’ll chime in. What. Just take the head. Oh she’s saying unplug your headphones. This is all going to be online and recorded folks. We have miss Stephanie she’s been helping me with the um. Online everything back there so and she was singing you’re probably like who’s that wonderful voice uh singing the verse here and it was Stephanie so I’m going to hand it over your turn thank you thank you.
Scripture in this part
Genesis 18:19 (NKJV)
For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”
— Genesis 18:19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 40:44 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does Stephanie share about Isaac?
Short answer: Isaac was different from Abraham and Jacob, yet God honored him as a patriarch—don’t compare.
▶ 47:33 It’s very encouraging to see everyone online and to see that it’s working and we can hear people it’s like oh my gosh I you think this would come easy to us because we’re young but it doesn’t come easy okay we still gotta struggle with it anyways um I so being in February I started the Bible over again in the beginning of the year so I’m in the Old Testament and I think the Old Testament sticks in my brain a lot more than the New Testament for some reason maybe it’s just the stories I can visualize them much better or it’s just something about it it’s like and there’s so many struggles so many different people different expressions. And. It’s very encouraging but I was going through as I usually do and I was in Genesis.
▶ 48:30 And going from the story of Abraham you know very important. Uh patriarch in the Bible one of the first of promise and then to Isaac of course his son and then to Jacob as we know the story and I was listening to it and just loving every detail and and how God used all of them but I just thought for a moment I was thinking about Isaac and I was thinking. You know. When you compare Isaac to Abraham and Jacob as far as the stories go it doesn’t really see it didn’t really stick out to me in my head that Isaac talked to God a lot compared to Abraham and Jacob so I had to go back through and I had to read the story of Isaac and there.
▶ 49:29 Are a few verses where God does talk to him like tells him you know don’t go to Egypt don’t like leave where you’re at and or um when Rebekah his wife was couldn’t wasn’t having any children Isaac did pray and ask God to you know bless her and things like that so Isaac did have interactions with God but at the same time. As far as so much detail in the in Genesis it’s like Abraham had a bit more interactions and Jacob had a bit more and I guess more struggles you know Abraham had to fight and move and he had to fight for his land and he had to deal with lot and all those things and Jacob oh my gosh she had all these women in his life and all these kids and just I guess more drama for Abraham and Jacob.
▶ 50:21 But I had to stop and really compare and think about Isaac. And I also thought it’s interesting that in the story Rebekah got the prophecy or she she felt her son struggling in her womb and she inquired of God and I all sometimes wonder like why wasn’t Isaac involved in that maybe you know he just wasn’t talking to God at that time or whatever and or maybe God knew that. The prophecy about Jacob being the second boy Isaac sorry Isaac’s sons Esau and Jacob Esau they’re twins if you don’t know Esau was born first technically but Jacob was coming out right after him and the prophecy that Rebekah got before they were born was that Jacob would rule over the first Esau the firstborn and I wonder like maybe God didn’t tell Isaac that because Isaac.
▶ 51:33 Favored Esau. God knew Isaac was going to favor him you know God knows all those things he knows like how you think and your personality. But at the same and you you might say well that’s a flaw that Isaac wasn’t gonna was gonna favor Esau but at the same time when you step back and you look at Isaac’s life. He had no flagrant sin. He had self-control. To be able to do that self-control is a is a fruit of the spirit right it’s a big key for all of our lives to be able to overcome sin and not not and to be able to turn away from sin and not do it again and he was given a pattern by his father Abraham Abraham lived this great life and just had so many things going on with God and and every step was just like blessed by God and he was a witness to Isaac his son and Isaac could have rejected that he could have said I don’t want to listen to this I’m over it I’m done I’m gonna try my own thing but he didn’t he followed the pattern and God used him as in his plan even though he didn’t you know maybe connect with God as much as Abraham and Jacob did.
▶ 53:03 And when. The later on in the Bible in Hebrews 11:9. It talks about Abraham and in this chapter he’s talking about all these people in the Bible that were used of God and blessed and they were like right righteous through faith and it says by faith Abraham made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country he lived in tents as did Isaac and Jacob who were heirs with him of the same promise. Isaac and Jacob were heirs they had the inheritance of that covenant with God that promised with God even though it started with Abraham it continued through the sons and that’s a great blessing that is and and they like I said the sons could have rejected it but they chose to follow the pattern.
▶ 54:04 And Isaac. Isaac was. As I’m going to try not to move he was honored as a patriarch in other parts of scripture in Exodus 6. When God is talking to Moses he says I am the God of your father the God of Abraham the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob if God had issue with Isaac he wouldn’t have listed him there right. Isaac was an heir he was part of this group of patriarchs that were given great honor. And again later on math in Matthew uh chapter 22 verse 32 this is Jesus talking and he’s talking to um the Pharisees I believe and he says he quotes scripture and he says I am the God of Abraham the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob God is not the God of the dead but of the living.
Scripture in this part
Hebrews 11:9 (NKJV)
By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;
— Hebrews 11:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 53:03 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Exodus 6:3 (NKJV)
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them.
— Exodus 6:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 54:04 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How do the gifts of the Spirit fit?
Short answer: Diversities of gifts but the same Spirit; the parts that seem less honorable receive greater honor.
▶ 55:09 And it’s just another example where Isaac is included in this it just reminds me that. As a human being. It’s my tendency to compare. Someone to someone else. And to think oh they’re not the same in this regard and Isaac wasn’t the same he didn’t have the same. Exact. Interactions with God like Abraham and Jacob but he still was part of the plan God still used him as a father of Jacob and Esau and carried on the promise to Jacob and we all know you know Jacob became Israel and had his many sons. And it also reminds me. To well before I summarize it let me go to this scripture in first Corinthians 12:4.
▶ 56:09 We’re talking about the gifts of the spirit now this is what the author’s talking about in this scripture and he says there are diversities of gifts but the same spirit there are differences of ministries but the same Lord and there are diversities of activities but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the spirit is given to each one for the prophet of all for to one is given the word of wisdom through the spirit another knowledge another gifts of healing another working of miracles to another prophecy. To another discerning of spirits to another different kinds of tongues and to another the interpretation of tongues he’s talking about how many ways God expresses his spirit through us through different people he gives different gifts or maybe.
▶ 57:13 One person might have multiple but it’s not doesn’t necessarily mean that God is going to treat this person less than the other person. But one in the same spirit we’re still in the same chapter but one in the same spirit works all these things distributing to each one individually as he wills for as the body. Is one and has many members but all the members of that body of that one body being many are one body so also is Christ for by one spirit we were all baptized into one body whether Jews or greeks whether slaves are free and have all been made to drink into one spirit for in fact the body is not one member but many.
▶ 58:10 So he’s saying doesn’t matter the background doesn’t matter ethnicity. We come from different. Past and stories and families but God gives the spirit liberally to all and it comes out in different ways and we can sit there and compare and say you know you may someone could be prideful and think oh well I can do this in the church or I can do this spiritually so that makes me better or higher and God says no we all contribute. But now indeed there are many members yet one body and the eye cannot say to the hand I have no need of you nor again the head to the feet I have no need of you either no much rather those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.
▶ 59:07 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable. No on those we bestow greater honor and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty. And so true that is I think throughout my life. I have always been. Taught and um. Believed that every person adds even if it’s just a little thing we think it’s just a little thing every person adds and builds up the body and what we do here it’s it can’t just be done by one person and I never want to be in that position where I think oh I can do this now so I really made it no I I am a piece of this one body and I’m thankful for everyone who contributes.
▶ 1:00:07 And I never want to you know the these scriptures really just to me say we are called even though we are different and we have different expressions just like Isaac had different expression than his father and his son we are called to respect. Each other in those differences and not take each other for granted that is for sure so I just want to encourage you guys in that because it’s been racing through my mind in the last couple months it’s important to love and cherish each other’s differences. If you don’t know Stephanie and I are very close so I feel that that was directed toward me loving each other’s I’m just I’m joking got it it was it was very good um we’re all part of the body and we all need to contribute and we want to help each other out when I go home and the kids and you know I got I say okay it’s time to clean up it’s time to clear off the table it’s time to set the dinner table gotta feed the dog all these things you know if I’m only making brooklyn do everything that’s not fair right so we all contribute even erin she’ll get out there with the dog hi sadie.
Scripture in this part
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (NKJV)
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.
— 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 56:09 (quoted; reference not named in the message)1 Corinthians 12:23 (NKJV)
And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty,
— 1 Corinthians 12:23 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 59:07 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does Miss Woods share?
Short answer: Paul and Silas praised in prison, and after the earthquake cared for the jailer’s higher freedom.
▶ 1:01:34 And she’ll feed the dog and she’ll help clean up too we all contribute and it’s a beautiful thing when the family works together that same thing in God’s house amen all right do I have any others in the room here that would like to share. I’ll give you a moment while I set up the guitar here. And mr Barnes I don’t know oh come on up. Um something that has just been rolling over in my mind over and over again and we all know the story about Paul and Silas how they were beaten and they were thrown into prison.
▶ 1:02:29 And then you know the story the earthquake and when they began to praise the Lord the the prison was shaken and there was an earthquake. And you know I always get caught up in that they were praising oh take the shackles off my feet so I can dance but Paul and Silas at the result of that didn’t say hey Paul didn’t say hey Silas we’re out of here look at our shackles are gone and the prisoners that heard them worshiping and the prisoners that heard them praising when that happened they didn’t leave and the thing that just got me this time you know you see worship now you can see it online youtube and there’s praise and there’s worship and all of that going on and it always precedes the worship always precedes the word because it’s preparing our hearts but I saw something in this story and it just broke me because this is what I want I want this.
▶ 1:03:28 When Paul after the shaking Paul knew some things about the Romans he knew that that prison guard was in trouble because the shackles came up they could have left. And Paul called out do yourself no harm we are all here how many I know if I was released like that I’d I probably would I tailed it out of there but when I hear Paul’s response. Calling out to the to the the jailer and say don’t do yourself harm that jailer was going to kill himself but as a result of him staying in the midst of his prison he reached out and he touched that man that man and his whole family received Christ so worship is not just a preparation for our services and to hear the word it’s a preparation.
▶ 1:04:28 For reaching out and having the spirit of God to be sensitive to to not just their freedom but there was a higher freedom that was necessary and that higher freedom was setting free that jailer who was an enemy he was probably the one that beat him but the love of Christ um you shared a song the wonder of God the wonder of the cross it compels my soul I want that I want that I want to be sensitive like that to people to not just get oh boy I get that feeling you know praising the Lord but but it’s for a preparation to reach out and to love people and um I just it’s just been on my heart and just over and over thinking about that because I always thought of the praise you know you always think of all the shackles on my feet you know but Paul didn’t say hey we’re out of here but there was another time in another uh time when Paul was released by an angel and he left you know the angel open the doors of the prison and he went out and he went to a prayer meeting knocking on the door you know you know that story too but there’s so many different ways you know to be set free they were set free to minister to someone else and that just just touched my heart deeply I want to share that with you.
Scripture in this part
Acts 16:25-28 (NKJV)
But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”
