▶ 0:00 And we see here that Jesus said he that believes on me shall not perish but have everlasting life and then what he says was it but it is the same statement as John 3:16 he that believes on me but instead of saying shall not perish but have everlasting life Jesus said as the scripture said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water so a believer not only has everlasting life but a believer can have everlasting waters of the spirit flowing out of them the same believer in John 3:16 is the same believer here in John.

▶ 0:44 Chapter 7 verse 38 amen and he said plainly this he spoke of the spirit to come because Christ had not been glorified yet guys hadn’t died lay down his life rose from the grave and ascended yet and so the Holy Spirit had not been poured out to every one now at that time but now it is poured out on all flesh and all of us can have the rivers of the spirit pouring out of us amen not only that Jesus said this when you get arrested when people oppose you and you get arrested don’t take any thought for what you’re going to say because in that hour the Holy Ghost will speak through you that river will come out of you when you need that river it will come out of you and it will come out of you in the words of the law amen words of truth aren’t you glad you’re a believer these promises are powerful then in acts we’re going to find there is a fulfillment of this promise of someone being arrested Stephen and God given him the words to say in front of his opponents so let’s go to acts.

▶ 2:05 In acts chapter 6 we find that Stephen was chosen to be a deacon and served tables to the widows and the orphans who did not have families if they had a family it was the family’s responsibility to take care of the widows and the orphans and they never took care of anybody but widows and orphans some lazy bum not working there was no welfare for them they put him to work are you with me but people who had no source the church federman took care of him and so d sivan was called in to be a deacon and served tables so this guy is serving tables and helping distribute the food to the poor and the Bible says that he was also full of faith and power and did great wonders and miracles among the people can I hear an amen he wasn’t just a table server and to be a table server back then you had to be filled with the Holy Ghost and have a good report from the neighbors and the community and the family round about you not just anybody was chosen to serve tables like today.

▶ 3:12 Are you there yeah we just put anybody doing anything but not the early church hmmm you know the early church could be right hallelujah being filled with the Holy Ghost and having a good report in your character is very important is that an amen alleluia we’re getting away from that but real preachers are going to stand up for Christian character. You agree on this nonsense we’re a powerful people we have the Holy Ghost in us let’s act like it is that a good amen so. He’s doing good he’s preaching the gospel people are getting say people are getting healed people getting miracles are happening things are happening and then there’s some for groups that don’t like it and all he’s doing is doing good I mean have you ever heard of anybody wanted to stone somebody for helping the poor.

▶ 4:12 Huh it’s crazy he’s helping the poor and he’s preaching the gospel and he’s bringing deliverance to people but they don’t like it there’s people who don’t like the gospel of Jesus Christ they want to get off into another gospel but the gospel of Jesus Christ that he was born of a virgin promised to come he preached the kingdom of God he did signs and wonders and miracles he laid down his life because no one could take it from him he laid it down can I earn amen and he picked it back up again that fleshly body on the third day picked that back up again when his spirit went back into that fleshly body that body came alive and he arose and then forty days later he ascended back into heaven that’s the gospel and because of his death barrel resurrection we are forgiven of sins and we can walk in new lives we can walk as as righteous people in this earth if can I earn amen the church is not a man-made thing the church is a living organism created by God and empowered by God and the church is the many member body of Christ and you’re looking at it right here and it’s all over the world now.

▶ 5:27 One of them group one of the groups is called the Freedmen synagogue they made their own synagogue because they used to be Jewish slaves and then they worked their way and they paid their way out or whatever and so they had their own little group over here freed Jews. Their own little group sound like America. Then you got another and these four groups united to oppose Stephen all right then you got. Serene the city of socrates philosophy socrates philosophy is you only need mental reasoning you do not need theology you do not need scriptures that was socrates basic theology you can think things through you can think what’s good and do good with your own mind the only problem with socrates is everybody thought different homosexuals said homosexuality was good drunkard said drunkards are good pedophile said pedophiles good somebody a deity.

▶ 6:35 Who is righteous and holy has to tell you what is right and good and we have to adhere to it can I earn amen is that philosophy in the earth today oh yeah you guys think your way through things yes I can do all you know they say well you know I can put do anything I put my mind to all the movie stars all the athletes all you put your mind to it you know well try to be a present in united states. There’s only one ever for years there’s gonna be a lot of disappointed people in there yeah we need to put our mind to the scriptures could that be an amen they’re solid always right they never waver the same yesterday today and forever and the scriptures will go into eternity with us not our wealth or anything else the scriptures will go into eternity with us so.

▶ 7:31 Then you got the group from Alexandria [unclear] had the biggest library in the world hundreds of thousands of books the intellectual center of that time and here you got the intellectuals and you got the socrates people and you got the freemen all opposed and steven who is doing nothing but good he’s just doing good. And then you have the province of asia minor the roman state and so you bring in the Romans with their gods and their philosophy and all these four philosophies bound together and they stirred up the people and they opposed steven. They resisted him they didn’t like his message they don’t care if he was feeding the sick I mean healing the sick and feeding the poor or whatever they did not like the gospel of Jesus Christ born of a virgin the messiah to come preach the gospel of the kingdom died on the cross gave his life for you and I no one could take it he laid it down he rose up the third day and he preached to his apostles for forty days and then he ascended into heaven and he’s coming back again they didn’t like that gospel.

▶ 8:52 Hallelujah. But that’s the gospel were given to preach. You’re not gonna be healed set free or anything attain to anything without that gospel and we got to stop getting tried sidetracked Paul said I preach Christ and him crucified amen and we need to keep preaching Christ and him crucified in that right don’t forget the powers in the blood the powers in the death of Christ and the powers and the Christ in us in you the hope of glory Christ in you the hope of glory he comes and he dwells with us and we’re a powerful people. Alleluia. Now. This is one of seven responses to the gospel of Christ opposition we’re going to go into the seven in the next slide so they brought him to the Sanhedrin the authorities all right and they brought false witnesses with them if you believe everything you hear out there without going to the sources and getting the information you’re going to be believing a lot of nonsense.

▶ 10:03 In that right there are people that lie they falsely accuse people of things they don’t even know and that’s what they did they set Stephen up but look what the scripture says. They were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which Stephen spoke. That wisdom is the first gift of the Holy Ghost the word of wisdom word a knowledge is second they’re the two highest gifts Stephen had knowledge because when he preached the message he preached from Abraham down to Moses this tabernacle down to Solomon’s temple and the exile in Babylon with the destruction of the temple and then he says God doesn’t live in buildings made with hands.

History and he says you guys you made idols during this whole time and worshiped other gods during this whole time you were claiming the worship God and then Stephen said this powerful statement you always resist the Holy Ghost just as your forefathers did he had that word of wisdom in fact when you look at Stephen he had all the gifts working except in the in this chapter just this chapter just this recording except tongues and interpretation he that had discernment of spirits because he knew what these people were doing he discerned their spirit he had faith the Bible said he had faith and he did signs and wonders and miracles before the people the healings and miracles I mean he was doing any prophesied that this temple is going to be destroyed because God doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands he’s building a church a living house of a people and he’s going to dwell in them amen alleluia and they liked it they wanted to hang on to the shadow laws they wanted to hang on to incense and and holy water and killing animals and shedding the blood and weren’t certain clothes so you look righteous they wanted to hang on to the shadow laws that pointed to the real laws that Christ fulfilled is that an

▶ 12:31 amen and they wanted to hang on to that natural temple and there’s Christians today they’ll actually believe there’s going to be a natural temple built back over there enjoy in Israel. When the Bible plane they don’t live in temples made with hands he’s not interested in natural temples he’s interested in bringing the Jewish nation into his spiritual temple amen. Hallelujah. Are you glad you come to church today. Amen. Now you always resist the Holy Ghost and church that’s the problem we can resist people we can resist people that disagree with us but are we resisting them or are we resisting the Holy Ghost that’s speaking through them if it is the Holy Ghost speaking and if where is this thing the Holy Ghost it’s way bigger than you disagreeing with your brother and sister wow that was good did you catch that we got to get tuned in here are they speaking from the Holy Spirit is this the word of truth is this truth that.

▶ 13:48 I’m disagreeing with is this the voice of the spirit I’m disagreeing with or is that that person I’m disagreeing with. Now there. You can win a debate with an individual but you’ll never win a debate with the Holy Ghost he will not lie he is a spirit of what truth oh yeah you can convince some people of anything but you’re not going to convince the Holy Ghost and it’s the Holy Ghost you don’t want to resist say they were resisting the Holy Ghost in Stephen.

▶ 14:32 The Holy Ghost was doing those miracles and wonders and signs and all that through Jesus Christ you see the Holy Ghost was given him the words to say and they were resisting the Holy Ghost and so we see a fulfillment when Jesus said when you stand before people in court I’ll give you the words to say and we see that God dead and then what did they do with Stephen they stoned it shut the message up shut the gospel up so seven people the first one is the opponent’s that we just saw they oppose everything the church does and everything the gospel is about they will mock reject give trick questions mystery pass laws that hinder the gospel of Christ and they can be from unbeliever or believers mouse you get all that all right we’re gonna go to acts chapter 17 verse 32 hearing the gospel some mocked are you guys are crazy resurrection of the dead dying on the cross oh one person sacrifice for the sins of the whole world you guys got to be kidding a second coming where the earth’s gonna be burned up with fire and this guy’s gonna cook come on you guys that’s a joke see they mocked they bit a little bit and some said hey this is heavy stuff man is the deep stuff we got to hear this again and we got to

▶ 16:02 hear it again and we got to hear it again how many you had to keep hearing it again till finally the Holy Ghost got it in and I’m right yes it’s okay to want to hear it again but some followed him now Paul said follow me as a fault of Christ they followed Paul because he was following Christ and they believed how many you know we need to follow Christ and we need to follow people that are following Christ yes don’t mess around with the lukewarm don’t follow them just help them in their need follow people that are falling Christ. Amen and that way you know you’re following Christ it’s especially important for young believers pick people that have the light in them and follow with them you’ll grow much faster than the peers out there telling you ridiculous stuff are you with me now.

▶ 17:04 In Luke 7:30 the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God being not baptized of him I mean oh there’s people today don’t believe in water baptism yeah that’s a big group and the Bible says when you don’t get baptized what are you doing rejecting the council oh God. Repent and be baptized how many every one of you no exception. And if you really get born again and birth by the spirit you want to get baptized I remember when I got. Saved back there and then assembly of God church man I really got saved I wanted the next step what what what’s next what about them what baptize me in water next Sunday I baptized in water what’s the next step get filled with the holding up well give me filled with the Holy Ghost that’s next Sunday I got fuel the Holy Ghost and I’m messing around just keep pursuing.

No no this wait a year to get baptized or whatever to get it done okay it only takes five minutes to tell you why what water baptism is doesn’t take five months and five years. First Corinthians 14:20 for this is so beautiful we covered this last week so I’ll just sum it up when I’m believers and unlearned come into the assembly where the church is assembling if all prophesy the secrets of his heart is made known by who the Holy Ghost we sing by the Holy Ghost we pray by the Holy Ghost we preach the word by the Holy Ghost the Holy Ghost exposes his heart and this guy that he’s talking about these people he’s talking about they are convinced say the word convinced in that what it says in the gospel of John the Holy Ghost will convince you of sin righteousness and the judgment to come you know what he said and so the Holy Ghost convinced this guy not some good speaker trying to mentally get people to accept Christ the Holy Ghost came and convinced that person that this is real and the proof was they didn’t know anything about worship they didn’t know anything about the Bible and it says they fall down they

▶ 19:35 bow down and they worship God. Now folks when’s the last time you’ve seen salvation like that. We’re trying to convince them with the brain the Holy Ghost uses the brain but the goldie ghost goes deep into the inner systems of their spirit and cleans them up convicts them there and they respond and say and what they’re what is the response gods truly in the church don’t we need people coming to church and going out saying that God’s real he was into service today that’s why we need the Holy Ghost the unbeliever is someone that not has heard the word yet or they’ve heard it and I got to keep hearing it they’re not a believer yet they haven’t put their trust in Jesus and the cross and so forth his work of salvation here’s the problem group this is the problem group right here they believe they accept Jesus birth death resurrection and so forth for the sins of the world.

▶ 20:43 But they’re unlearned and the reason they’re unlearned is they don’t read their Bible they don’t study their Bible the Bible says what study to show thyself approved unto God put some effort into it reading is reading studying is a totally different thing you better have your dictionary and your concordance is and your other books out so you can understand what that first sin that’s studying amen and how many Christians do you know that study. Yeah they got time for an angels baseball game they got time to learn how to surf they got the time to run learn how to flat airplane they ain’t got no time to become a disciple of Jesus Christ it just amazes me they are believers all right unlearned and they’re anti disciple because a disciple has to read and study and pray and go to church and get into Bible studies this disciplined one has to learn to be disciplined by doing these things and they’re anti disciples.

▶ 21:52 They just go on to heaven because they believe I’m even over 50% of the church in America right now that is their mentality I’m going to heaven because I believe and I don’t have to do anything else and that right anything else is works and you can’t be saved by work that’s not being saved by works it’s growing by works you got to put some work into it amen. Now. They easily hear false teachers book written they get it they won’t pick up the Bible but a book written that don’t even somebody got a cd they’ll listen to it somebody got a video they’ll listen to it but they won’t get under knees open that Bible and let the Holy Ghost real the word to them there’s no author on earth can expose the word of God to you and reveal it to you and teach it to you but the Holy Ghost in that what the Bible says spiritual things are what.

▶ 22:53 Discerned by the spirit they’re opened up by the spirit and no matter how good a book you read there is no better book than the Bible. And the problem with other books is they put their opinions in it. Are you with me and listen I always have to back this up when I first got saved I read over 30 books a year all right. But I read the book every day and studied it every week I had a study time in a reading time that way I could line everything in the books by the scriptures and I it was important that I did because a lot of stuff in those books were their opinion not in the Bible at all are you with me hello there yeah so. They become false teachers because they pass on false doctrines doctrines that don’t help anybody they the Bible says they’re tossed about by every wind of doctrine have a little wind of doctrine something new comes through oh yeah yeah.

▶ 24:02 And the Bible says they oppose themselves. And folks when you don’t submit to the Holy Ghost you are opposing yourself when you refuse to get into the word and read the word and get into Bible studies and get into church and learn the word you are opposing yourself you are your biggest enemy I don’t go out excuse you God the Bible says you are opposing yourself in that what is that what it says. Hallelujah that’s this group right here their whole doctrine is on belief faith that’s it faithfully faith belief I believe. They divided the churches that’s where most of this division comes from this group right here.

▶ 24:58 They don’t care about the condition of other people in the church they don’t come to church concerned about your spiritual growth level and your spiritual condition. They don’t care at all their carnal the Bible says baby’s. Fleshly they’re just baby Christians whine and crying all time. Feed me what my body love me pat me on the back and that me bur. And they reject discipleship did Jesus say go out into all the world and make believers no he said what go into all the world and make disciples disciplined people that follow the word and follow Jesus can I hear an amen and we’re making just a bunch of babies out there in America right now not every church but I don’t want to go to heaven have to stand before God and say I just I just preached the baby Christians and left them babies no way you got to be accountable for everything you speak I want to be able to say God I preach the gospel amen and not what you want to do stand before him and say Lord I live the gospel and I preach the gospel for you.

▶ 26:19 We need a fulfillment of this people touching God and saying God is in the church not great speakers not philosophers not psychologists but God is in the church exposing the heart and changing lives amen I know people that won’t worship God after 40 years in Christ they just stand there like a statue in this verse when you really meet with God what do you do you worship you don’t have to learn about it you don’t have to be taught about it because God is love and that spirit of love comes to you and does something in you you want to love him back and the humblest thing you can do is get on your knees and say thank you Jesus thank you father amen. The problem is we’re not having that meeting with God we’re having a meeting with the minds.

▶ 27:23 In Acts 21:20. To Jerusalem to. Worship in the temple in Jerusalem at the at the feast and when he gets there the brethren in Jerusalem take him aside and they say Paul. There are thousands of Jews that believe in Christ but they are also zealous of the law what law. Thou shalt not kill that’s our honor their parents know they’re zealous of shadowless the laws that point to what Christ was going to fulfill they still want to burn incense they still want to use holy water they still want to sacrifice land they still want to drink the wine and eat the bread they still want to do these.

▶ 28:21 Ceremonies that God the shadows I don’t like to call them ceremonies God said in the Old Testament they were a shadow of things to come a pattern of things to come and not the real thing so a shadow is a better word. And they wanted to keep them and they wanted to keep the temple and Stephen said the temples coming down and Paul said the temples coming down and Paul said the shadow laws are gone we don’t do those anymore we don’t use holy water we don’t burn incense we don’t slay animals anymore we don’t wear certain clothing anymore Christ fulfilled all that and they didn’t like it here we have it again the asian Jews started and they stirred up the people including the believers in Christ.

▶ 29:19 And they took Paul out of the temple to kill him and the only thing that saved him was the roman soldier the centurion soldier the captain saw the turmoil and went in and took Paul out otherwise believers in Christ and believers in the Jewish God were going to kill an innocent man simply because he preached the truth the temples coming down did it come down has it been rebuilt and ain’t going to be rebuilt in God sings because God doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands he wants to build us up church and he wants to glorify himself in us in these last days not some stupid building over there and Israel hey man the Bible says we are the Israel of God. We don’t have to take some journey to meet with God to Israel God will meet with us where we are at can that be an amen hallelujah.

▶ 30:20 And Philippians 2:20 I have no man like-minded who naturally cares for your state your condition Timothy or for all seek their own not the things which are Christ Jesus and Philippians I’m sorry 2:20 I have no man that really cares for the condition of the church did you hear that. They come to the assembly they come without any concern for the growth level and the heart condition and the mind condition of those around them wow. Did that sink in. So. Here’s the fourth group they believe and they’re learning and they’re born again these are children child Christians not baby Christians like these guys the Bible gives us four levels of christianity this is the child level there are followers but they haven’t learned to care for the other person yet they only care about themselves.

▶ 31:31 Have you met those kind whatever’s convenient for me you know they don’t come to church to help anybody out invite them over for dinner or fellowship or something to encourage them in the Lord I don’t even think about it back when I got saved that was normal people bought station wagons and and multo seated vehicles so they could bring people to church people now buy what’s that car smart cars I don’t even care about anybody else getting too checked you’re not right. It’s true.

▶ 32:12 We don’t care what we just wanted discernment ooh get over and everything to get over so we can watch football. There is no compassion driving most of the church world in America now that’s not true in third world nations remember I’ve been all over the world preaching the gospel I’ve been in the jungles of south America the jungles of africa have been in china I’ve been in south korea I’ve been in europe I’ve been everywhere and those third world countries let me tell you they’re serious about God and one of the things that why they’re serious is they need God to survive daily for food clothing and everything else when they pray they mean it ain’t no little prayer and prayer are you with me so I’m saying this is what I see in America all right.

▶ 33:04 The number three group they care but they’re unskilled and they’re still learning they’re very involved in the house of God but they make some mistakes how many you know we can live with mistakes now we shouldn’t be afraid to try things because we make a mistake you’ll never ride a bicycle if you’re afraid you’re gonna wreck because you’re gonna wreck. Right we’re gonna make mistakes and the pentecostal charismatic has been picked on long enough that people need to just shut up yes we make mistakes but the Holy Ghost powers there and you can meet with God and that can change you and that’s what’s important can I and we can correct the mistakes. Because somebody shakes a little or hoops or gets a shouting season going on or whatever my goodness I’d rather have an expression of the Holy Ghost in baby form then the Holy Ghost ruled out of the service you agree with that because I can handle the problems that can handle the slain in the spirit stuff it’s it’s easy to talk to him and make him understand.

▶ 34:20 But what we need is a Holy Ghost and let me tell you when that Holy Ghost comes sometimes you think you just stuck your finger in electric socket hmm it’s powerful oh. Yeah. Now. They’re involved and they come to give they’re the ones that come with a prophecy I saw him a spiritual song a tongue an interpretation they come to just give something to the church that day did you come today to give something to the church. Doesn’t mean he’ll open the door but what it means is you’re ready if he does. Now is that good Bible. Yeah he says when you come together every one of you come with a Psalm of him a spiritual song a tongue an interpretation of prophecy we come to contribute and that means we can do things with him after service you know our job with people doesn’t stop at a church service folks me and mr.

▶ 35:30 Barnes man we back in our day we had a service Sunday morning a Sunday night and so and I work five and a half days a week and so me and mr. Barnes had to go out and do our visitation in between services to to encourage people and and pray for them and whatever visit them like the Bible says and encourage them and get them to the house of God and then we had to be in service that night am I right yeah and then on Saturday when I when I was half a day off we’d go out and collect newspapers so we could have money to spend on the youth program but you see you care for people you get a compassion for people you don’t just say gimme sing the song give me a compassion for the lost I pray you get it and you do it it’s not a song it’s an action.

▶ 36:26 Can I hear a good amen there. Was the last time you took somebody and encourage them in the Lord when’s the last time you led somebody to Christ when’s the last time you even tried to witness to Christ someone about Christ think about it. These guys come to give this second group their learned their disciples discipline they’re skillful like caring for people and they are planted in the house of the Lord their fruit is natural they’re not working hard at it anymore it just it’s just natural I’m you know fruit comes what naturally there’s nothing you could do to a plant to make it bring those fruit it’s got to naturally come and that’s what it is they put in the time and now the fruit just keeps producing wow and they’re good. They’re planted they know where their life comes from where the fruit comes from they know what the source is these people are planted in the house of God and then you got the servants the slaves of Christ.

▶ 37:33 Okay. They’re learned they care but they’re leaders they’re not waiting for somebody to start a program they start programs and if nobody wants to join them they go do it themselves they don’t stop for anything they are leaders. And how many of you know the Bible says we’re all kings and priests we’re all leaders are you leading. Are you out there are we kings are we leaders or not is the Bible line is your lo steen the only one that can lead or shoulder or whoever these guys are. They’re going right I can’t remember you know we’re waiting for men and women to do all of our work for us and we’re supposed to have God in us and working in us ourselves I don’t need Joel osteen and I don’t need rick joyner I don’t need any of these people to california or the kansas city prophets or any of these people.

▶ 38:41 Todd Bentley or whatever I need Jesus I need the Holy Ghost and that is sufficient amen. But this group is a little different than the other groups they have a little level of maturity that’s totally different they know how to expose all of these other groups and encourage them to come out expose them and and tell them you know you. But they also know how to love their enemy these people that are fighting against the church. They know that Christ wants to restore them and so they’d hold no animosity no anger no resentment but they’ve got to stand for the truth of God’s word to these people so that the truth sets them free but never with a condescending.

▶ 39:47 Attitude and when never giving up on them are you with me they know how to love the enemy and expose truth at the same time do you know any of these people. We want to step on our enemies when they especially when they attack us personally. I’ll show you. Seven groups folks does God want us all to grow to this absolutely. Absolutely but it’s going to take effort. It’s going to take application. You can’t just. Put God in you’re scheduled at your convenience disciples don’t do that.

▶ 40:42 Disciples get in his convenience. And I’ll back it up in Isaiah 49:6 God talking to Jesus it is too small a thing for you my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob. And he goes on to say I will give you the nation’s the unbelievers of the world and he’s talking to Jesus here God is talking to God in the flesh all right on what God in the flesh was going to do now let me ask you this if he can restore the 13 tribes of Israel and some of you said there’s only 12 no you counted wrong there’s 13. God split up one of the tribes now there’s 13 are you there and that’s why the people try to connect the tribes.

▶ 41:36 Over there in Revelation. Being Jewish people there’s tribes missing folks because he’s not talking about Jewish people he’s talking about the church can I hear an amen yes. Now if God promised that to Jesus Christ is God going to disappoint Jesus Christ in his sacrifice no is he going to back it up yes does God want to restore all these people now someone won’t be restored but does God want to and is our job when we’re when were disclosing this that we do it with a God can restore you God wants to bring you back to him attitude. Hallelujah well is this Bible good or what is this Holy Ghost good or what yes there’s two things necessary the spirit and the living word and Jesus said my word is what spirit when you’re singing the word pray in the word speak in the word you’re in the spirit because the word is spirit and the word is truth and the word is life so.

▶ 42:52 You see this rain coming down here rain cleanses the land first of all it cleanses secondly it softens the hard ground how many got some hard ground in you yeah.
