In “Seven Last Plagues Part 3,” Pastor David G. Kincer concludes the series by saying wars and plagues are not the sign of Jesus’ coming, that Daniel’s delayed answer shows spiritual warfare in the heavenlies, and that the seals, trumpets and bowls describe one big event. He also warns about date-setting and the history of the rapture theory, and says God loves all nations.

Are wars, rumors of wars and earthquakes the sign of the end?

▶ Watch this part (0:01)

Short answer: He says Jesus told us not to be troubled by wars and rumors of wars, because “such things must be” and “they’ve been happening since creation.” He says we don’t have to “stretch anything” because Scripture “just says what it says.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:01 “Watch. Be alert, lest any man deceive you.” And the first thing he says: “False Christs will come and false prophets, and when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not” what? Now here’s [unclear] Lindsay telling the people, “Oh, look at all these wars going on and all these volcanoes and all that just this week.” And yet Jesus said, what? “Be not” what? Don’t even pay any attention to it. “For such things must be.” They’ve been happening since creation, and they’re going to keep happening. Yes. See, if we just read what it says, we get it. And he says, “For as a result, nations shall rise against nation, there’ll be earthquakes, famine and pestilence,” that’s the [unclear] there, “heavenly signs and troubles, and brother will betray brother to death, father and son, children their parents.” Don’t be troubled; “these things must be” has nothing to do with this end time. Just letting it sink in. I’m amazed that we got to interpret a scripture that needs no interpretation. It just plainly says it.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Mark 13:5-13 (NKJV)

And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Is there salvation at the end, and what is the sign of Jesus’ coming?

▶ Watch this part (1:27)

Short answer: He says “there’s preaching at the end, and there’s saints preaching at the end,” because God chose “the foolishness of the preaching” to save the lost, “not miracles.” He says the sign of Jesus is not wars or plagues but his coming, and “the end is when he comes.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:27 “You’ll be hated of all men for My name’s sake, but he that endures to the end” (that’s what Revelation is talking about) “shall be saved.” Is there salvation at the end? Is there salvation at the end? So there’s preaching at the end, and there’s saints preaching at the end, because God’s chosen the foolishness of the preaching to what? Save the lost, not miracles. Preaching. “After the tribulation in those days the sun and moon dark, stars”; we already read that the heavenly powers are shaken, and then the sign of Jesus. So when’s the sign of Jesus down here? When he comes. What is not the sign of Jesus? Wars, rumors of war, earthquakes, pestilence, plagues. Have Christians been hated ever since Jesus brought the message? Oh, absolutely. Your own family members will hate you if you really serve Christ, and that’s what it says here, and that’s happened what? Through every generation. He says don’t be bothered; these things will happen, the end is what? Not yet. The end is when he comes. Are you there? Now, isn’t that clear? You don’t have to stretch anything, you don’t have to fumble anything; it just says what it says, doesn’t it? Hallelujah.

Why did Daniel wait 21 days for an answer to his prayer? (Daniel 10:12-13)

▶ Watch this part (3:13)

Short answer: He says the angel told Daniel his words were heard, but “the prince of the kingdom of Persia” withstood the angel for 21 days. He says it was “wasn’t a human being” but “a prince in the spiritual heavenlies,” so “there was a war going on in the spiritual arena.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:13 “Fear not, Daniel, from the first day you set your heart to understand, your words were heard before God, and I am come for your words.” This is the angel Michael. Okay, “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia,” there was like 21 days. Daniel was praying and no answer, because what? “The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood.” Yeah, it’s 21 days, because it’s written right there. If I would have read it, I... okay: the prince of the kingdom of what? Persia withstood who? Michael, one of the chief angels, for how many days? 21 days. So Michael couldn’t get to who? Daniel, to give him his prayer request. Now, was Cyrus or, not, Darius, the king of Persia at that time, is that who was withstanding Michael? No, no, wasn’t a human being. It was a prince in the spiritual heavenlies, in wicked places, that was withstanding Michael. There was a war going on in the spiritual arena. Are you there? Hallelujah.

▶ 4:59 I’m sorry, that’s the angel. “Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, and I remained there with the” what? “Kings of Persia.” Kings, seven heads, 10 horns, had nothing to do with the human king of Persia; had to do with what? The spiritual kingdom who was influencing the kingdom on earth of Persia. Now, folks, you can’t get any plainer than that. Hallelujah. And John is showing us the spiritual powers being destroyed in Revelation, just as Jesus said they would be. “On My servants and handmaidens,” Acts 2:18, “I will pour out in those days of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord. And it will come to pass that whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

What does Acts 2:18-21 say about the sun and moon turned to blood?

▶ Watch this part (6:22)

Short answer: He says Acts 2 uses “the same terminology” as the signs in Revelation, to say that God is “filling people with his Spirit,” using young people “both male and female” to prophesy, and that people are getting saved. He says it is “the same illustration,” and “we got a real God, and he’s in charge of this earth.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:22 You see, he uses the same terminology to say God is doing great things. When this moon and sun are turned to blood, God is filling people with his Spirit, God is using his young people, both male and female, to speak the Word of the Lord through prophecy, God is doing things in the earth, and people are what? Getting saved. And he uses what illustration? The moon, the blood, the moon, the sun, signs in the earth, signs in the heavens. He uses the same illustration, but do they ever quote this? No. Hallelujah. I don’t know about you, folks, but we got a real God, and he’s in charge of this earth.

Is the first seal the antichrist, and what does he say about the famine in the seals?

▶ Watch this part (7:37)

Short answer: He says “the seal is not the antichrist,” because “the Bible says it’s a conqueror on the horse” and “you can’t put in the word antichrist when the Bible doesn’t put it in.” He says killing each other is “not new,” and that the price of barley and wheat shows “plenty,” not famine.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 7:37 Now, here it is, the great tribulation, that blinking thing says what? Great deception. See, Jesus said, first thing he said: do not be what? Deceived. Now watch closely here. Here’s the seven seals, here’s the seven trumpets and here is the seven bowls, from their theory, one of their theories. Okay, first of all, the seal is not the antichrist. The Bible says it’s a conqueror on the horse, not an antichrist. You can’t put in the word antichrist when the Bible doesn’t put it in. Isn’t that right? Okay, secondly, they got anarchy, chaos going on, lawlessness, and it doesn’t say that; it says that they kill each other. Have we been killing each other since Cain killed? Yeah, that’s not new. You see how? And then they got a famine, and remember when we search the Scriptures, the price of barley and wheat, we found that there was no famine at all. In fact, there was what? Plenty. You could eat for a month on a day’s wages. Remember when we search the Scripture? Are you there?

Scripture (NKJV)

Revelation 6:1-8 (NKJV)

Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

As it was in the days of Noah and Lot, was there a famine?

▶ Watch this part (9:03)

Short answer: He says Jesus’ comparison to Noah’s and Lot’s days shows life “going on as normal,” with people “getting married,” “buying,” “selling,” and “violence was in the earth, but not famine.” He says Sodom had “abundance of bread, abundance of idleness.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:03 But boy, you know, we just interpret it; that’s when you get into trouble, it’s when you start interpreting, especially because you want it to fit into your idea. Now, to prove this, Jesus said, “As it was in the days of Noah and the days of Lot, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man.” Was there any famine in the days of Noah? No, life was going on as normal. They were getting married, they were buying, they were selling, they were just living there. There was no big thing. Violence was in the earth, but not famine. They were killing each other, but not famine. So was as in Sodom and Gomorrah: abundance of bread, abundance of idleness, and they committed sexual immorality and worshiped false gods and all the rest.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 17:26-30 (NKJV)

And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

— Luke 17:26-30 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:20 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

Are the seals, trumpets and bowls one big event? (the sixth seal and the day of wrath)

▶ Watch this part (9:56)

Short answer: He says the sun, moon and stars cannot be both gone at the sixth seal and still there, so “this is one big event.” He says the sixth seal and the seventh trumpet both say “the day of the wrath has come,” so “how can you have two days of wrath coming?” and the seven last plagues are “summing up the one big event.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:56 Now, a quarter of the people slain. All these red things is where people are dying. The rivers, here, all these red illustrate over here; a third of the people are dying. So people are dying one way or another, and it says the martyrs, and then over here you got the martyrs drinking blood, the people that killed the martyrs. And then you got the earthquake, which is in a gray area here. You got the sun darkened, the abyss opens and darkens the sun again, and over here darkness. You got darkness in all three areas, probably because it’s all one big thing. Are you with me? All right, then you got the sixth seal, where he says the sun and moon are turned to blood, darkened and turned to blood. And how, you know, if the sun’s gone, the moon don’t have light either; that’s a no-brainer. The moon gets its light from the sun. Okay, but it says that the heavens are rolled away like a scroll, just like it says in Isaiah that the heavens are going to be rolled away like a scroll.

▶ 11:19 Well, how many know the sun and the moon are in the heavens? How many know the stars are there? Now, how many know if this is literal, if this is actual what happened, we can’t have any more sun, moon and stars? They’re gone, and yet we have them. See, the sun’s hot, the sun’s dark and the sun’s gone. So this tells us what? This is one big event. Hallelujah. I tell you, it pays to read the book instead of all those books, but all those books drove me to find the real truth in the book. Now, it says right here at the sixth seal, “the day of the wrath has come.” At the sixth seal, the day of the wrath has what? Come. Well, what’s all this other stuff here? That’s all one big thing; this is part of the day of wrath. Down here at the seventh trumpet he says the day of the wrath has come, same statement. Well, how can you have two days of wrath coming? It’s obvious it’s what? One big event. And the seven last plagues are summing up the one big event, and it means the other events are taking place all the time, and these things are going to be a great crescendo at the end, a great ending.

I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! Who has victory over the beast, and what will things be like when Jesus appears?

▶ Watch this part (13:22)

Short answer: He says the people have “victory over the beast” and over Satan, and “if we got victory, we’re still here.” He says it will be like Noah’s and Lot’s days, with normal life, and “all of a sudden Jesus appears,” coming as a thief.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:22 Now, here it says that the people have victory over who? The beast, and victory over who? Satan. Where are we at? If we got victory, we’re still here. Are we giving in anything? Are we quitting? No, we have victory; we’re conquering. And there’s those voices at each one that I told you about. And remember, as it was in the days of Noah, it says they were buying, they were selling, they were marrying and giving in marriage. Is that a normal life, working, marrying? Yes. “And as it was in the days of Noah, and it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man.” And that’s why it’s a thief: things are going to be normal, and all of a sudden Jesus appears. Whoo! All of a sudden something starts happening in the earth from the battles in the heavenlies, that humans can make a decision to serve God or not. Are you with me? Isn’t this a lot of stuff? I warned you it was a lot of stuff.

What does he say about the 1833 sky event and where the rapture theory came from?

▶ Watch this part (14:55)

Short answer: He says on November 13th, 1833 the sky lit up for four hours and people thought the end was here. He says the rapture theory was invented “back in the 1800s” and “wasn’t heard of before that,” and that groups then began to set dates, including 1843, called “the Great Disappointment.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 14:55 On November 13th, 1833, the sky lit up for four hours. You could read a newspaper on the streets of New York at 2:00 in the morning. Billions of stars come buzzing through the atmosphere, one right after another. It was seen from Canada down to Florida and across the United States. Nighttime was daytime. Okay, so what did the people think? The end was here. This guy here created the rapture theory back in the 1800s, John Darby. He invented this theory. It’s very new; wasn’t heard of before that. No church taught it in their creed, it wasn’t in a catechism class, no statement of faith. You can’t find it anywhere till this guy come up with it. And then the Seventh-day Adventists, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Mormons, the Baptists, the fundamentalists all grabbed a hold of it, and they began to set dates. And this guy here set a date in 1843: Jesus was going to come, the end of the world was going to happen. It was called the Great Disappointment. People actually sold their houses, they took a vacation from their job, and they went to watch the end of it all, and then it didn’t happen.

What happens when people set dates for the end?

▶ Watch this part (16:51)

Short answer: He says when the dates failed some “committed suicide, some went into great depression,” and that “all these little cults appeared at that time.” He says modern predictions like “the world’s going to end May the 21st” are wrong, and “he’ll come up with a new one.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:51 Some committed suicide, some went into great depression. They had been, and there were preachers preaching it was a why, but the people would not believe it. The Baptists were strong in it, and it didn’t happen. Then the Mormons predicted it. The Seventh-day Adventists, that’s where they kept their name from, the advent, and all these little cults appeared at that time, the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses and all this. Man, the whole focus of... was on the second coming. Did you guys know that these groups sprung out of this second coming nonsense? Mary [unclear] Eddy and all these so-called prophets: false prophecy. Well, now you know, and you can check it out, it’s in all history books, you can read it, it’s not hard to find. Okay, then we come to the modern world. There’s [unclear] Lindsay and that guy up there is Camp, the top guy. He’s saying the world’s going to end May the 21st, I think it is, of this month. Yeah, May the 21st. That’s after May the 14th; that was yesterday. A great catastrophic thing was going to happen throughout the world, and we just went along our merry way, but they’re still, they’re still saying he’s coming the 21st. And guess what? On the 22nd he’s going to be wrong, and he’ll come up with a new one. He’s come up with them before, and he’s got people believing it.

Why should you read the Bible for yourself and confirm it with someone living it?

▶ Watch this part (18:43)

Short answer: He says “you go to the book for yourself,” and then “confirm what you’re reading in the book with somebody that knows the book and living the life.” He says to get somebody “strong in God because they’ve been walking with God” rather than a writer whose “changed prophecies” earn “millions of bucks.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 18:43 You see, that’s why it’s important that you go to the book for yourself. Could that be an amen? And not just for yourself, but you confirm what you’re reading in the book with somebody that knows the book and living the life, the book is working for them. Amen. Don’t get somebody that’s wimpy and weak-hearted and can’t handle the slightest little problem and all this; get somebody that’s strong in God because they’ve been walking with God, and they walk with a buck, and confirm your truths and your beliefs by them. [Unclear] Lindsay said the rapture would come before 1990, in The Late Great Planet Earth. Well, 1990 came, and he quietly took the book off the shelf and brought in a new one, and he said it will come by the year 2000. Well, the year 2000 came and went, and he quietly took off that book and brought in a new one, and the guy makes millions of bucks from Christians reading his changed prophecies.

Does God condemn a whole nation because of its government?

▶ Watch this part (19:47)

Short answer: He says “God loves everybody in the world” and “is not picking on any particular race or culture,” and that “a nation is just simply a form of government under which a bunch of people live.” He says God “isn’t going to condemn a nation” because its government is communist, “he loves those people.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:47 Now, I stopped reading them after the first time they’re wrong. How about you? And that’s what the Bible says to do. These guys do make a lot of money; they live in big homes from ignorant Christians sending in money and believing in this nonsense. Folks, God loves everybody in the world. He’s coming to everybody in the world, he’s wanting everybody in the world to come to him. He is not picking on any particular race or culture or whatever; he’s after the whole world. Can that be an amen? And he doesn’t hate one nation above another. No, he loves all the nations. A nation is just simply a form of government under which a bunch of people live, and he isn’t going to condemn a nation in people in China because their government is communist, is he? Why? He loves those people. And we saw him bring down Russia, and he can bring down China. He’s gone.

Why might an answer to prayer be delayed, and do science and the Bible conflict?

▶ Watch this part (20:51)

Short answer: He says answers may take a while “like Daniel because of things in the heavenlies,” so “pray a little harder.” He says “science and the Bible never contradict each other,” and conflicts only come from “extreme science or people in the Bible going extreme ways.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 20:51 We see the people get victory over the beast and over Satan. We see that God protects his people, that God answers their prayer. It may take a while, like Daniel, because of things in the heavenlies, but he shows up. And if you’re going through things and you want God to move a little faster, just pray a little harder, because there could be warfare going on in the heavenlies so that the answer can be released to you. And it’s worth the wait, ‘cause when he comes, nothing can replace it. And this secular reasoning: don’t be fooled by it. Science and the Bible never contradict each other. Never. It was the Bible that said the earth is hung on nothing before scientists even knew that. Ain’t that right? Yes. It was the Bible that said the earth was a sphere, a round, before scientists, in just the last couple hundred years, came up with the fact that it’s a round ball, or 500 years. So science and the Bible never conflict, if it’s reasonable science and reasonable Bible. But when you have extreme science, or people in the Bible going extreme ways, then yes, you got a conflict. Why? Because they’re being ridiculous, they’re being extreme.

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.

What was the mixed multitude that left Egypt, and why do some harden their hearts?

▶ Watch this part (22:32)

Short answer: He says God “separated the people of Egypt from God’s people” and “the plagues didn’t touch God’s people,” and a mixed multitude of Egyptians and others joined them, so “nations in the last days” will join “our ranks.” He says those who choose to do wicked “harden yourself” because they “don’t want to live right.”

▶ 22:32 Jesus is on your side, folks, and the Bible says that he will finish the good work he began in you. And there’s coming a day, just like in Egypt, where God separated the people of Egypt from God’s people. Egypt had darkness in their dwelling; God’s people had what? Light. The plagues didn’t touch God’s people after the frogs; God’s people were kept. And then there was a mixed multitude. I forgot to bring that out there. There was a harvest. A mixed multitude came out of Egypt with God’s people. There were Egyptians and other nationalities living there that joined God’s people’s ranks, and they went out of Egypt with God’s people. And we’re going to have that: nations in the last days joining our ranks, and there’s a great harvest coming. Amen.

▶ 23:32 We are going to be honored in the earth when God starts moving in this realm of revelation, and the people that choose to do wicked, their hearts are going to be hardened, because it’s the foolishness of preaching that saves. If you’re not going to believe the Word of God, you’re not going to believe, even if these things come. You’re going to justify him, ‘cause you don’t want to live right, you don’t want to choose right, you want your own way, and so you’re going to harden yourself. We see it in Revelation, we’ve seen it in Sodom and Gomorrah and Noah’s flood and in Egypt, didn’t we? Aren’t you glad you’re on the side of Jesus? How many of this morning are on Jesus’s side? Yes.

Scripture (NKJV)

▶ Watch at 7:37

Scripture (NKJV)

▶ Watch at 9:56

Scripture (NKJV)

For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added by hand, and obvious caption errors were corrected; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor note: the recording begins mid-teaching, quoting a passage about wars and rumors of wars (it is not named; the wording matches Mark 13:5-13). He names real people (a TV author, a radio preacher who set a date for May 21, the 19th-century originator of the rapture theory, and a 19th-century religious founder) and criticizes several groups (Seventh-day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Baptists, Pentecostal and other fundamentalist teaching) and nations (Russia, China); these are his own opinions. The captions garble some names and a word, shown as [unclear] and not guessed. Select any time to jump to that moment on YouTube.
