▶ 26:55 Afterwards that they got more more than they lost because David sent presents to all the elders of Judah and there was spoil that he took for himself that was more than what was stolen from just his city and I’m not content with restoration today I want abundance I want more I want to see the demonstration of your power in the church in the community in our bodies I want to see healing for those who are sick I want more I want your power Jesus please don’t pass us by again today I feel that you’re here your presence is here inhabiting our praises and I want more please I humble myself to say why we want more we want more than just what we lost we want more than just what we’re looking for in our feelings today Holy Spirit intercede for us now because we don’t know what to pray we don’t know what to ask for Jesus but I know I’m not content with just what was taken from me I want more I want abundance

Short answer: A song about a man saying grace in a diner: whether you believe in Him or not, in the end everybody talks to God.
▶ 32:18 Oh we need you we need. You you may find your seats this morning. We’re going to play a special song this. The uh that we could play out in the community but I just want to share it this morning um and I’ll try to improve it next.
▶ 33:13 Time he was saying grace over a Tuesday blue plate special when a man in the next booth said don’t you watch tv don’t you know that God’s a me hate to see you waste your breath there ain’t no use talking to a ghosts that don’t exist the praying man said amen and looked up from his place said may not talk to God right now but there’s going to come a day whether you’re a farmer in the field. Praying for the rain or you curse him at the gravide cuz he called a l one’s name you can thank him you can blame him either way you’re going to face him whether you believe in him or not.
▶ 34:17 In the end everybody talks to. God everybody talks to. God the man in the next booth went quiet cuz he didn’t have a comeback so he shrugged it off and paid his t shuffled out the door and the praying man he prayed for the man who drove. Away hoping he would see the light before it got too l. But how was he to know he touched an unbeliever. Soul got that conversation two red lights down the road.
▶ 35:12 Whether you’re a farmer in the field praying for the rain or you curse him at the gravide cuz he called a lov one’s name you can thank him you can blame him either way you’re going to face him whether you believe in him or not in the end everybody talks to. God everybody talks to. God you can thank him you can blame him either way you’re going to face. Him whether you believe in him or not.
What does it mean to save yourself?
Short answer: From Peter in Acts 2: save yourselves from this perverse generation; God doesn’t want to take 40 years to bring change, so don’t be the reason your life drags out.
▶ 36:06 In the end everybody talks to. God everybody talks to. God. Amen serving God in every season last week we talked about deliverance this week we’re going to be talking about saving yourself and we know that famous scripture that Peter spoke in acts chapter 2 save yourself from this perverse generation. Amen when we look at Joshua in Joshua 18:10 Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord and divided the land to the children of Israel according to their division visions so to understand where we’re at right now uh Israel has come out of Egypt and they came to the promised land with.
▶ 37:08 Moses and they already rejected the promised land they got discouraged and they had to they had to dwell in the wilderness for 40 years okay last week we learned that God does not want to take 40 years to bring a change in your life he wants to do a quick work in your life and we don’t want to get so uh we don’t want to we don’t want to drag this out don’t be the reason that you’re your life is dragging out your relationship with God it doesn’t have to be that way God wants to do a quick work and change in your life do we understand that this morning and so here they are he’s with the people of Israel that have come out of the wilderness after 40 years of being in the wilderness and they finally are starting to get the promised land that God has promised promis them so Joshua here is dividing the land he’s in charge he’s their hero and at certain stages in your life you need a hero you need a guy like Joshua Joshua here he is an example God is with him he’s a good man God is speaking to him and God is using him but you as the people of God must make a transition to become an example to become someone who God is with the scriptures say you remember when Jesus ascended into heaven he said God is with you even to the end of the age he’s with you
Scripture in this part
Acts 2:40 (NKJV)
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”
— Acts 2:40 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 36:06Joshua 18:10 (NKJV)
Then Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD, and there Joshua divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions.
— Joshua 18:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 36:06Do I need someone else to talk to God for me?
Short answer: No; we have to transition to communing with God ourselves, setting aside time in our busy schedule.
▶ 38:39 you don’t have to look to somebody else that’s an example and and as God is with them and you know you can have that too God wants you to God God wants to bring you to that place God. Uh we have to come to a transition in a place where we are communing and speaking with God. Ourselves that means you got to take time you got to set aside time during the week and our busy schedule I remember I was a young person I never had time for anything never had time for God right you have to make time you have to make time for your family you got to make time for your work you got to make time for uh you know taking a break you got to make time for God just like anything else.
What happened after David killed Goliath?
Short answer: The men of Israel and Judah rose, shouted and pursued the Philistines; you can be used by God too.
▶ 39:31 And you don’t want to just want everybody else being used by God you can be used by God too amen so that’s God’s goal David is another example David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and stone he struck the Philistine and killed him he killed Goliath and sam 1st Samuel chapter 17:52 the men of Israel and Judah rose and shouted and pursued the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley to the gates of Ekron so once David overcame the Philistine then everybody was on board amen they were following their young teenage. Hero but and there’s a time for the we need people that are brave we need a people that are brave in our government we need people that are brave in our community we need that right but somewhere in our relationship with God we can’t just lean on the brave and the heroes and the people that are trailblazing we’ve got to transition to become like that we’ve got to transition to be able to become like David and destroy Satan in our lives to become strong amen God is not just uh wanting uh overcomers just a few people to be overcomers no he wants us all to be overcomers all shall know me from the least to the greatest what happens when you know him you become.
Scripture in this part
1 Samuel 17:50-52 (NKJV)
So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. Now the men of Israel and Judah arose and shouted, and pursued the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell along the road to Shaaraim, even as far as Gath and Ekron.
— 1 Samuel 17:50-52 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 39:31Why did Joseph’s children ask for more?
Short answer: They said they were a great people blessed by the Lord; Joshua told them to go up and clear land for themselves, and Christians need that attitude.
▶ 41:01 Strong all he’s talking to everyone Joshua 17:14 the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua saying why have you only given us one lot and one share to inherit since we are great people in as much as the Lord has blessed us until now that prayer this morning that utterance we heard this morning that hearts cry of the Holy Spirit saying God I want more than just restoration I want an abundance and that’s what these guys are saying we want we want we are a great people we want. More and Joshua answered said if you are a great people go up to the country and clear a place for. Yourself you don’t need me you don’t need Joshua you don’t need the great hero you can pursue this you can inherit this land.
▶ 42:03 Yourself and we want this kind of attitude Christians need to take on this kind of attitude where you saying I want more of God I want more of heaven I want more of God’s promises well they’re available to. You you don’t have to lean on Joshua to be your spokesperson you can go and do it yourself we don’t need someone to pray for us you got a transition from somebody you know coming up to the pastor and saying pray for me pray for no no no you can pray to God you can meet with your God. Amen my cooworker is out for a month and uh he’s he’s the guy that knows everything so I get kind of shaky cuz you have no you know the buck doesn’t stop with with it it doesn’t stop with him anymore it stops with me so you got to you got to find a solution you can’t just lean on everybody else anymore you’ve got to find an answer you’ve got to you’ve got to sit there and say okay we can figure this out I can do this you got to you got to take it on yourself to find an answer.
Scripture in this part
Joshua 17:14-15 (NKJV)
Then the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, “Why have you given us only one lot and one share to inherit, since we are a great people, inasmuch as the LORD has blessed us until now?” So Joshua answered them, “If you are a great people, then go up to the forest country and clear a place for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and the giants, since the mountains of Ephraim are too confined for you.”
— Joshua 17:14-15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 41:01Why was the veil torn?
Short answer: When Jesus died the veil was torn from top to bottom, so we can go into the presence of God ourselves.
▶ 43:19 Amen Mark 15:38 the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom when Jesus died on on the cross and when he gave up his spirit it says that the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom the rocks split the earth. Quaked but that veil was torn and if you know anything about the veil of the temple the temple had two rooms it had the holy place and it had the holy of holies and this veil in Hebrews chap 10: 19 it says having boldness to enter the holiest the holy of holies the second room by the what blood of Jesus when he died on the cross when he shed his blood when he gave up his spirit that veil was torn and here the he writer of Hebrews is letting us know you can come boldly into that room where God is nothing is holding you back but yourself.
Scripture in this part
Mark 15:38 (NKJV)
Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
— Mark 15:38 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 43:19Hebrews 10:19-20 (NKJV)

— Hebrews 10:19-20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 43:19 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Can we be anointed like David?
Short answer: Yes; God has anointed us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
▶ 44:25 2 Corinthians 1:21 he who establishes us with with you in Christ has anointed us at at has anointed us given us his spirit in our hearts as a guarantee God you know not only is David anointed right David was anointed Saul was anointed Saul he I don’t know what he was thinking but David had his anointing we can be anointed too Joshua was anointed we can be anointed we can have his spirit upon us Luke 4:8 the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor to set to to heal the brokenhearted to proclaim the cap liberty to the captives recover your sight to the blind and set liberty those who are.

— Luke 4:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 44:25Who is responsible for my relationship with God?
Short answer: You are, ultimately; leaders are responsible to create an environment for you to meet with God and hear Him.
▶ 45:24 Oppressed we’ve got to get away from the thinking that the church building the leadership and everybody else is responsible for our relationship with God you know yeah they have some responsibility but you are ultimately responsible for your relationship with. God leaders have a responsibility to create an environment for you to meet with your God and hear him speak to you and that’s what our goal is is this morning if he anointed Joshua he can anoint you save yourself acts. 2:40 save yourselves from this wicked. Generation and he they said that 2,000 years years ago during their generation but that’s the same thing today we got people that are wicked today I don’t want to run with the wicked you don’t want to run with the wicked you want to save yourself from the wicked generation how do you do that you’ve got to feed yourself you’ve got to guide get guidance from the guider you got to deliver yourself in Matthew chap 611 Jesus and the lord’s prayer says give us this day our daily bread you’ve got to find the food that will feed your spiritual.
How does the Spirit guide us?
Short answer: As you put God’s word into you, the Spirit of truth guides you into all truth and saves you from the wicked generation.
▶ 46:43 Man John 16:13 when he the spirit of truth has come he will guide you into all truth as you’re putting in God’s word into you the spirit with that word will guide you into all truth you just keep at it you ask that spirit to help guide you into all truth and these are the ways you can save yourself from the wicked generation right you don’t have to walk around being influenced by the wicked generation you know the wicked generation’s message is all over the place it’s advertised everywhere you can’t walk around without it coming at your face. Right but you we have to know what truth is. And if you’re having trouble you got to get connected to the spirit of God the spirit of truth put his truth into you and let it do its work in your heart how can a young man cleanse his way Psalms 1199 by taking heed according to your word how do you take heed to something that you have no idea what it says this is the year 2023 we have no excuse there’s technology all kinds of technology you could probably get chat uh gpt open ai to to give you like a summary every day of the some scripture that you could read and have it speak it to you I mean there’s there’s no there’s nothing stopping.

Does a church save you does a denomination save you does a famous person save you a famous speaker or uh no it comes down to you connecting with your God Luke 21:36 watch therefore and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all things that will come to pass and stand before the son of man so Jesus saying is reminding us you got to watch and pray watch meaning you’ve got to warn okay a watchman warns of the destruction coming we have to warn people hey you know the scriptures say that sin is going to take you to hell you know somewhere you got to get that across somewhere we have to share that that’s part that should be part of our lives and also to pray we’ve got to stay connected with God that you may be counted worthy to escape you know we pray when when when problems come you can pray but not also when problems come but says to stand before the son of man you also want to pray to God so you can stand before him with a good conscience even when nothing bad is happening amen so you pray in every situation.

— Luke 21:36 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 48:10How does Jesus teach us to pray?
Short answer: When you pray, say: you have to do it yourself, starting with our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, entering His gates with thanksgiving.
▶ 49:40 And this is how we can save ourselves take time to pray Luke 11:2 he said to them when you pray say so four words tell you very important things first of all. You got to do it not your friend not the pastor not the somebody at the church you don’t need I mean you can call them and they can help you I’m not saying you can’t do that but we want to transition to a place where you have the ability to pray for. Yourself. Amen and he says when you pray say it is important that that you open your mouth that vibrations and sound come out of your face.
▶ 50:35 Amen when you pray. Say and Jesus goes on and he gives us in model prayer and he starts out by. Saying our father in heaven hallowed be thy name great is your name you come in like the scriptures say come come into his enter his gates with what thanksgiving and into his courts with. Praise you know if you want to pray and get mad at God and come into the room be like God I I can’t stand you that’s not that’s not going to work okay he gave it to you what he gives it to us what the model prayer is you come in thankful giving God thanks and then you can pray the rest uh if you need help in prayer you can open up a pongal you can sing a Psalm unto God you can pray a pongal unto God you can open up a proverb and you can pray a proverb God I pray that I would not act like this fool that’s in Proverbs God I pray that I would keep my like I want to follow what you’re saying here you can use that as a guide to help you.

— Psalm 100:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 50:35 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How can a young person be an example?
Short answer: Let no one despise your youth; be an example in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith and purity.
▶ 51:47 Pray a Psalm you can you can uh start out with a Psalm that praises and lifts up the name of Christ it’s. Powerful we all have we can if you need a Bible I can get you a Bible if you don’t have one we can get you one there’s no there’s no excuse or let’s get rid of the excuses amen let’s get rid put that stuff on let’s we want to become. Strong 1 Timothy 4:12 let no one despise your youth but be an example to the believers in word in conduct in love in spirit in faith and in purity this scripture is very important and this scripture is something you can take that I have that I have held dear to myself all of my life and maybe uh let no one despise your youth how about let no one despise your old age let no one despise your a your middle age okay not just your youth people are always looking down on the youth well because they don’t know anything well now the young people are like oh you don’t know anything cu you’re old you know let no one despise your age.
▶ 53:07 But be what an example I tell you examples in my life growing up were very powerful and very important you want to come to a transition in your life where you are an example like Joshua was he was an example and the scriptures before in the in the wilderness he was in the temple he was seeking God we want to be an example in the way we talk what comes out of our mouth are we lying are we cursing are we you know what comes out of our mouth and Proverbs talks about that says excellent speech is not becoming to a fool you know fools don’t have good talk coming out of their mouth I don’t want to be a fool God changed my mouth amen. In conduct how do we behave how do we behave ourselves what how do we behave out there in the world in the workplace you know do you work hard when you get on your job are you are you kind or are you known as oh don’t talk to that.
Scripture in this part
1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)

— 1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 51:47What did Paul tell Timothy to give attention to?
Short answer: Reading, exhortation and doctrine, and not to neglect the gift; Timothy made it work, and we can too.
▶ 54:17 Person oh or you’ll be lucky to get anything out of them today is that how it is no no we want to be what an example in conduct in love in spirit in love man have you have you seen that guy in love in spirit in faith in purity till I come give attention to reading exhortation to doctrine I’m sharing these things because these it’s it’s being very specific of how we can save ourselves what can we. Do. Amen give attention to reading reading reading what reading the scriptures he’s talking to Timothy Timothy’s got to read the scriptures while he’s involved in the church he’s and and and this is 2,000 years ago and the scriptures were manuscripts and he’s got to read this stuff and today we got it right here where is my phone we got it right.
▶ 55:16 Here we got it easy we can have it printed you can get it shipped to your house in two days or less. Amazon. Okay Timothy made it work if he can make it work we can make it work. Right do not neglect the gift that is in you give yourself entirely to them that your progress may be ev to all I remember. Um somebody came up to me once and said mike you’re you’re doing a half-hearted. Job and uh he reminded of the scripture that says whatever you do do it wholeheartedly as unto the Lord. Amen and this is what we’re talking about here when you want a relationship with God put your whole heart into it do things wholeheartedly when you get on the job do it wholeheartedly when when you’re when you’re dealing with uh treating somebody kind or loving somebody or the way that you conduct yourself do it wholeheartedly don’t do a half hardy job.
Scripture in this part
1 Timothy 4:13-15 (NKJV)
Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.
— 1 Timothy 4:13-15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 54:17How do you save yourself and others?
Short answer: Take heed to yourself and the doctrine and continue in them; in doing this you save both yourself and those who hear you.
▶ 56:28 Amen no do not neglect the gift that is in. You take heed to yourself to the doctrine continue in them for in doing this you will save both who. Yourself and those who hear you and I bring this scripture up because there it says it right there how do you save yourself exactly what it just said here in first Timothy amen. It’s powerful the scriptures are consistent the scriptures explain. Themselves James 4:7 submit to God we have a problem submitting to God we submit to ourselves we submit to our friends we submit to the world we submit to the kingdom of darkness we submit ourselves to all kinds of things and people but we don’t submit to.
Scripture in this part
1 Timothy 4:16 (NKJV)
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
— 1 Timothy 4:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 56:28Is submitting to God a one-time thing?
Short answer: No; you decide to submit every day. Resist the devil and he will flee; draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
▶ 57:29 God and I I uh and you’re going to have to decide to submit every day of your life you know even if you’re doing well you know the next day oh man I really did not submit to God today I I need to work on that you know it’s a constant thing and but you grow and you become better at it and as time goes on so don’t quit submit and don’t quit okay just keep submitting resist the Devil and he will flee from you it’s important that we push back on the Devil all right he doesn’t have power uh unlimited power over you okay remember the scriptures say that we have power over over the kingdom of darkness over scorpions and serpents and over all the power of the enemy we have power over the kingdom of darkness resist the Devil and he will flee from you don’t he only has as much power as we give him draw near to God and he will draw near to you this morning in church we have an opportunity to draw near to God when you go home you have an opportunity to take time to draw near to God and he will draw near to you if you don’t make any attempt he doesn’t have to draw near to you you know if you don’t want God he’s going to go to the person that wants.
▶ 58:49 Him amen and there’s a lot of people that want him and there’s a lot of people people that draw near to him and he’s going to them and he’s reaching them if you don’t want him. Fine he’s not going to force. Himself I mean you know there’s another side to that as you know he’s always trying to the Bible says he’ll never leave you nor forsake you he’s always trying to reach out to you. But somewhere we got to come to a place where we are making the effort ourselves to draw near to Christ amen. Cleanse your hands you sinners purify your hearts you. Double-minded Jesus’s blood has the power to cleanse every sin cleanse your hands humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and he will lift you up all these things up here on this uh about worship it’s all about humbling yourself if you can if you can do these little things it’s very humbling but it’s good it’s it’s it’s how we approach God are we willing to open our mouth are we willing to bow are we willing to express some sort of humility toward God and not.
Scripture in this part
James 4:7-8 (NKJV)
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
— James 4:7-8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 57:29What made Israel go back into the wilderness?
Short answer: Discouragement; they wished they had died in Egypt and spent 40 years until all died except Caleb and Joshua.
▶ 1:00:07 Pride and then they they got discouraged several times the cloud by day the fire by night the mana the the the rock which followed them had gone uh they didn’t have it anymore in Exodus 16:3 oh that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt when we saw the pots of meat and we ate the bread to the full oh that we had died oh my gosh I can’t stand this I wish I would have just went back to Egypt I wish I never would have left my old life we get discouraged and people will encourage us to be inour discouraged they will they will continue to discourage us numbers chapter. 1436 the men who went out to spy the land returned made all the congregation complained against him by bringing a bad report of the land so they were there they were at the promised land and they got a bad report the people didn’t even see the the the promised land and they.
▶ 1:01:15 Wow all those people were so close to receiving the promise and they had to go back 40 years years into the wilderness until all of them died except for Caleb and Joshua we got to we got to rise above the discouragement don’t miss out on God’s promise for you stay consistent stay with those who are following God and following truth we started off good until we get discouraged from family and friends and people this is as far as I can go in God I’m just this I’m only that no it’s not true we need a kingdom.
Scripture in this part
Exodus 16:3 (NKJV)
And the children of Israel said to them, “Oh, that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
— Exodus 16:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:00:07Whom will you serve?
Short answer: Choose for yourselves this day; as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, not the world’s rich people and movie stars.
▶ 1:02:09 Attitude. Amen we can go to the top we can reach the top where Jesus is where God is I encourage you this morning do not give up up Joshua 24:15 if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve are you going to serve the gods of the Amorites are you going to serve the gods of your fathers well I’m going to do it this way because my parents did it this way or I’m going to do it this way because this is what my friends are doing I’m going to do it this way because that’s what the famous and successful people are doing who are you going to. Serve choose for your yourselves we can’t blame the preachers we can’t blame the churches Luke chap Luke 10: 19 says the kingdom of God has come near you it’s accessible to you it also says that the kingdom of God is within.
▶ 1:03:12 You somewhere you have to decide for yourself how far you’re going to go in God we’ve got to realize that no one can get to the top and and finish the race but ourselves and Joshua’s reply was as for me and my house we will serve the Lord we don’t want to honor the world the rich people they all have their opinion the movie stars they have their opinion they’re making their money they’re in the tank for sin mostly. A lot of the movie stars the music industry they’re in the they’re in the tank for sin that’s who they honor they all say the same.
▶ 1:04:04 Thing and we honor them but we do not. Honor and serve. God as for me and my house we will serve the Lord they came to a place where there was no more mana from heaven there was no more water from the rock. That’s a miracle for water coming from a rock cu rocks don’t have water. Right the rock followed them in the wilderness and it had water in it there was no more visible cloud by day and pillar of fire by night the presence of God when they came to the land they didn’t have this stuff anymore they didn’t have the miracles anymore there were no more plagues that happened in Egypt there was nothing to get hyped up about look at that did you see that oh my gosh.
Scripture in this part
Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)
And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
— Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:02:09So what do we do?
Short answer: Watch, pray, become an example, submit to God, resist the devil, cleanse your hands, humble yourselves, put God’s word in you and fast.
▶ 1:04:57 They had to make a decision and decide as Joshua said choose for yourselves this day whom you will. Serve so what do we. Do as we learned earlier we watch we. Pray become an example. Amen submit to God and this is it’s not limited to these things these are just the things that I found real quick resist the Devil cleanse your hands humble yourselves put God’s word into you fast pray all these things we’ve got to put this into our lives and in our daily life in our schedule.
Scripture in this part
