Avoid those who cause divisions leading others into sin. Love is obeying God’s word. Believers shouldn’t sue each other; the unrighteous won’t inherit the kingdom, but such were some of us before we were washed. All things are lawful but not all profitable, and a believer’s presence has power.

Whom should we avoid?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: Those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to doctrine—causing people to sin is a grievous division.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 0:00 Romans 16:17, “Mark, look at those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you’ve learned and avoid them.” Now, here’s another hell sin because the word offense there is you cause someone to sin. And when you cause someone to sin, a hell sin, it becomes a hell issue, doesn’t it? Yes. So this divid this division here see this kind of division in the church is much grievous much more grievous than the division we talked about for the last four weeks where we get got second coming differences and you know uh whose ministers the best minister differences. See those are not hell sins. See, I’m a Baptist or I’m a Presbyterian or, you know, I’m a Wesley Methodist or I’m a Catholic because, man, they’re cool.

▶ 0:56 See, and and we divide. But none of those are hell sins. This is a much more grievous division because the division is about causing people to sin. And that’s when the church has to what? Step up. So you got two kinds of judgment here. One is where the church gets involved and they excommunicate the person because of hell sins that is going to influence the church and cause other people to sin. And then you got your personal where you you know maybe offended or hurt. But it’s personally done where you got to react personally yourself. If the church doesn’t or the church hasn’t done anything yet, you got the responsibility to do what’s right and not eat with them and avoid them.

▶ 1:59 See, if you avoid that guy that’s sponging and everybody avoids him, he can’t sponge no more. He’s either got to go to another church and make suckers out of them or he’s got to go get a job. 1 Timothy 6:3, if any man consent not to the good words of Jesus and godliness, godliness is pleasing God, living the life that pleases God, doing good. I I want to please God. And when I don’t please God, I repent. I feel bad. I correct it. I work on correcting and I keep moving forward. So what’s godliness? Pleasing God. Say pleasing God. Not your little group, not your little buddies, but pleasing God. So there’s two things here.

▶ 2:52 The good works of words of Jesus and godliness. And then he he describes these people who don’t embrace the good words of Jesus and don’t embrace godliness. He says they are proud. They know nothing. They’re doing about questions and stripes of words. Isn’t that the truth? They’re always coming up predestination and all this the dispensationalism. All these words are not even in the Bible. Bible don’t even make an issue out of them. St. Augustine, you know, said this, you know, Calvin said that. Wesley said this. They always got all these questions. They always got all these arguments. They love to argue. And Paul said, “These kind of people are proud. He’s describing who they are and and and they’re always quarreling over words and they’re jealous and envious and they they cause division and they cause verbal railings and evil suspicions.

▶ 3:52 Oh, is that church really a real church? I don’t know. Is that pastor? He doesn’t preach pre-tribulation rapture. Is he really connected with God? See, they cause suspicions. Back there when the vine had their first big split, people would would just go up to old people. Then the split would go up to other people and say, “Well, you just don’t know, Dave Kzer.” Wow. Suspicions. I mean, they just left it open. That’s what these people are. And then we want to go love them back. You know, well, I want to love you, you know, we want to have them over for dinner, not Paul. You know, see, this is another individual expression.

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Timothy 6:3-5 (NKJV)

If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

What is love?

▶ Watch this part (4:43)

Short answer: Walking after His commandments—obeying God’s word; Steve Williams’ parents pushed him to college.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 4:43 You got to make a decision on your own to obey this principle. The church may still be letting them come, but it’s not to your profit to be around these people. Can I hear an amen? Just because they’re coming to church doesn’t mean they’re walking in the light and walking in the truth, does it? Because people come in as a mission field. And we got to change them and and and and direct them. Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness, from such withdraw thyself. The word gain there is monetary gain. You know, well, you know, I I making good money and you know, hallelujah, I got a an inheritance, so I’m godly. I’m pleasing God. Oh, you know, working is pleasing to God.

▶ 5:35 But that’s not the focus. And remember when Steve Williams gave his testimony, the first one he said, I went to school, I got an education, I learned a career. His second one is God blessed me in my finan. Well, that’s because he prepared himself in the field. Are you there? And see, God had something to work with. You know, you drop out of high school and don’t go get a degree or you don’t learn a job skill. What are you giving God to work with? You know, God isn’t some magical thing. He’s going to snap his finger and make up for your errors. He’s going to expect you to follow the right road and do things in the right way and then he can bless you. Can I hear an amen? And so that was a good testimony.

▶ 6:27 See, one thing his parents did is they pushed him to go to college and get a degree and learn something. Right, Steve? Yeah. Bad parents can have good values when they’re pushing you to do right things from such withdraw thyself. Okay, do we get it? Now, is this to the church or is this to the individual believer? The individual believer said individual believer. It’s your job to judge and know and to stay away for their good and your own. And the church wants to reach them. So the church isn’t going to be just jumping on excommunicating people. See, there has to be a flagrant reason. 2 John 6:11.

▶ 7:22 This is love that we walk after his commandments. Here’s another definition of love. Love isn’t just doing no harm to your neighbor. Love is obeying God’s word. Hallelujah. That’s a definition of love. Many deceivers and antichrist, opponents of Christ, are in the world. How many? Many. A lot of them who confess not that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. See, the people that say Jesus wasn’t born of a virgin, they’re saying Jesus hasn’t come in the flesh. The people that say Jesus did not lay down his life and pick it up again, they are antichrist people. And there’s a threeletter word, threeletter word religion that says Christ has not come in the flesh. Do you know what it is?

Are natural Jews special?

▶ Watch this part (8:15)

Short answer: He says those who deny Christ has come are antichrist; no group is special by label.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 8:15 J E W. And yet we want to act like they’re God’s people because our theologians has told us this stuff. See, your natural Jew does not believe Christ has come yet. They are Antichrist. It’s right here, black and white. See, does God look at a bloodline? No. He’s after all nations. Did God fulfill his word in the natural Jewish nation? Absolutely. Will he make them part of what he’s doing in the last day? Yes.

▶ 9:07 Because he’s after what? All nations. Even those that say he hasn’t come yet. But they’re not special because they’re Jews. Just like Catholics aren’t special because they’re Catholics, and Pentecostals aren’t special because they’re Pentecostals, everybody’s special because God so loved the world. Hallelujah. Whoever transgresses and abides not in the doctrine of Christ has not God. Bottom line, he that abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the father and the son. So how do you know you got Jesus and God? Your desire to please God by obeying his word.

▶ 10:00 See, that’s why I don’t worry about death and where I’m going to heaven or hell. There is a desire in me to please God because God is there compelling me and moving me to do. So I know then when I make a mistake, I just correct it, get up and keep going. Amen. If there come any unto you and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house. So is this the church doing the action or is is it the individual? It’s the individual. See, somewhere you’ve got to wise up. Back in the old vine when I had all these hippies on my hands. A lot of people would come to the service to get a boy or a girl.

How did he protect the church?

▶ Watch this part (10:55)

Short answer: He reaches out to homosexuals, but barred a man preying on others; members were trained to watch for the weak.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 10:55 Okay. I caught one guy, a homosexual, and I reach out to homosexuals. I always have. Uh even back then when they said they were repbate, couldn’t be reached. That isn’t what I read in the Bible. I read it was just another sin. So, I handled it like another sin. But you mess around with the flock, I’m going to move. And this guy, he’d come in with his tambourine dancing all over worshiping God. Then he’d get the young believers, the naive ones and the young ones, 15, 16, 17 year olds over to his house to have a Bible study or to pray and seek God. And he’d give him alcohol or he’d get them smoking marijuana and then he’d talk him into having homosexual sex with him. When that got back to me, there was no three strikes.

▶ 11:48 That’s it. I said, “You cannot come to this church.” He walked in that next day and I said, “You can’t with his tambourine.” I said, “You can’t come here anymore.” He says, “You can’t do that. This is a public place.” I said, “I’m sorry. This is invitation only. I don’t know if you read your Bible, but the church is invitation only and you’re not invited anymore. He said, “You can’t do this.” I said, “You watch. You guys take this guy out of here.” And they literally lift this little run up and carry him right out of the thing. I went outside. I said, “If you stand out here and make any kind of commotion, I’ll call the police and have them take you away.” and they will take you away. And people say homosexuals don’t recruit. Listen, I work with them.

▶ 12:39 They recruit. They try to recruit me. And they want to jump on us because, you know, we beat up some of them. Let me tell you, a 14-year-old, when that guy groped me and grabbed me and my private parts, I wanted to kill him. That was the grossest thing I had ever experienced. It’s just he was bigger than I was and older. There’s two sides to everything. Hallelujah. See, receive him not into your house. And then I had guys coming in for girls and I I constantly had to have my eyes. I had to worship with my eyes open. I couldn’t close my eyes. And I and after service, I had to keep my eye. And Mr.

▶ 13:30 Barnes was there. We were trained. We had to keep our eye. We might be talking to some person, but our ears and our eyes are all over. Am I right, Tony? Because they wanted to single out the weak ones. They wanted to do bad things to them. We would intervene. He said, “Don’t bid him God’s speed. Oh, God bless you.” Don’t do that. I know God loves you. No, don’t say that. He said, “Don’t give them any kind of word where they think they’re okay. Give them the gospel. They are a mission field.” Could that be an amen, church? And see, this is where the sheep are stupid. I was telling people at the Friday night Bible study over in Walnut that, you know, as a church member, it’s your responsibility to go in there to contribute, not go in there to just get when I go into service, I look I look for people that are on the verge of getting saved or need to get saved or, you know, need to buck up or whatever and single them out and I get into a conversation.

▶ 14:44 I don’t go there to, oh yeah, can I get this thing over with? See, church members are important, but to be important, you got to have some knowledge. And this is Paul’s talking. And I’m telling you, he is not being merciful at all. He’s being direct, isn’t he? Actually, this is mercy because in the end, you can save somebody as he said. And don’t be partaker of his evil deeds. You don’t see anything good about them. If you, you know, just don’t do it, you know, don’t flatter people. Oh, I know. I know you got a right heart. He doesn’t have a right heart. It doesn’t matter what your emotions say.

▶ 15:36 His actions and his mouth are telling you what he is. Boy, that was good right there. See, I told you earlier, a real minister doesn’t let his emotions get involved, nor personal gain, nor personal profit, or his personal opinion. He stays tuned with the spirit, which is in tune with the word. And that’s what the church has got to do. Can I hear a amen? You know, you somewhere you got to grow up to where you don’t come to church for yourself. You come to church for others. And in doing that, God will meet your needs. It’s found in the last book of Job, last chapter, I’m sorry. Hallelujah. One of the best ways to get your needs met is not just pray about them all the time, but take time to minister to others.

▶ 16:36 Wow, that was good, too. You know, everybody’s waiting for the minister. That’s the problem with the mega churches. They all go there to be flattered and they don’t know how and they haven’t been taught how to be soldiers in God’s army. Now, what doctrine is he talking about? This is love that we walk after his commandments. And Jesus Christ has come in the flesh or has not or has. Yeah, Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. They say he hasn’t come in the flesh. That’s why the word Jesus is important. Try not to use the word God much. Use the word Jesus because Jesus is God and Jesus is the word that people hate when they don’t want a real God. And the word God is a word that’s universal to everybody.

Should saints sue saints?

▶ Watch this part (17:30)

Short answer: No—saints will judge the world and angels; get a wise person; why not rather take wrong?

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 17:30 You’re okay. I’m okay. Use Jesus. I tell you, it’s powerful. It works. Now quickly five points on judgment. Chapter six. Saints judge saints matters and don’t go to law before the unjust. Okay. If saints shall judge the world, then they can judge small matters. Yeah, we’re going to judge the world. Do you know how that works? Okay. People say that I tried Christ and it didn’t work. You ever heard that? Oh, yeah. I heard it all the time. Well, there’s people that have tried Christ and it did work. So, up in heaven, he’s got this big host that it worked for. And then he’s got this big host to say it didn’t work. Now, where’s the evidence? Yeah, the people are there.

▶ 18:22 You’re you’re not going to have to say anything. You’re just going to be there. And he’s going to say, “Well, here’s a whole multitude.” You’re going to judge the world. We shall judge angels. See, angels were built against God. They wanted to be like God. And on that day, the same thing. When he throws those angels into that lake of fire for eternity, he’s going to go. These human beings could do it. You could have done it. Hallelujah. How much more are things that pertain to this life? Number four, one wise man, not the least among you, can judge between his brethren. He says, don’t get the new believer.

▶ 19:12 Don’t get the people that don’t know the Bible and know God to judge. Get a wise person. And what’s a wise person? Superior. Thinking, speaking. Emotions and actions. Yes. Doesn’t let his emotions rule him. He doesn’t let his mind rule him. He thinks like God thinks. He lives not according to the flesh, but according to the word. That’s the wise person you want to look for to make decisions. And who do we go to? The wimps of the church. And Paul said, “Don’t do that. Don’t go to the least. Go to the wise one. There’s got to be one wise one in there somewhere. Can I hear an amen? Now, is this good stuff?

▶ 20:04 It is. See, he’s telling you sheep that you got a big responsibility, too. It’s not just the preacher. Now, look at this verses 6 through8. Brother goes to law more, five points. Goes to law with brother and that before the unbelievers. He said, ‘You guys are having quarrels and different. Then you’re going to the heathen courts. Now what’s the heathen courts going to think? What kind of God you serving? You can’t get along. You can’t solve these things. And see, the United States of America is right. A church should be self-governed except where it directly hurts people, where you murder and all that, then it has to move over to the secular. But the church should be governing itself. If we have a superior word and a superior God, then we should be making some superior judgments.

▶ 20:56 Could that be an amen? So there is utterly a fault among you. You know, you guys, you got a problem in your midst. Why do you not rather take wrong? Take wrong. Do unto others as they do unto you, man. That guy borrowed 10 bucks from me and didn’t pay back. See, he borrowed my electric drill and didn’t bring it back. Why not rather permit yourself to be defrauded, to be swindled, to be to be deceived, and to take it be taken advantage of? Why not allow it? Now, it depends on what you’re allowing. You don’t allow somebody to rape you. But in these little matters, remember he said the smallest matters.

▶ 21:52 Are you there? Not the excommunication matters, the small matters. He says, “No.” And then he turns to the ones that are creating the problem. No, you do wrong and defraud your brother. See, you are wrong for not working and sponging off people. You’re wrong for borrowing things and not giving them back. And you people are wrong for supporting them. Now, here it is. Then he goes right into this. Now, this is good. You need to have this underlined in your Bible. This is the scripture for America right now. The answers for America. The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Nanny’s going to give the hell sin list. Okay? They’re not going to inherit the kingdom of God no matter what anybody says.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 6:1-7 (NKJV)

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers! Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?

— 1 Corinthians 6:1-7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:30

Who won’t inherit the kingdom?

▶ Watch this part (22:44)

Short answer: Don’t be deceived—fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves, drunkards; such were some of you, but you were washed.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 22:44 Okay? First, don’t be deceived. Don’t be led astray. Now, see, he said, “Why not permit being deceived when it’s small matters?” Are you there? When it’s what? Small matters. But when it’s serious matters, he said what? Don’t be deceived. Don’t permit it. Neither fornicators. And here’s that fornication word again, which means male prostitutes, idolaters. The exact things he’s listed so far before. Epheminite. The word effeminite is a boy killed by a man for sex. It is a boy homosexual given sexual favors to a homosexual man.

▶ 23:36 And when people talk about [ __ ] in the New Testament, I said, “Well, you better read 1 Corinthians 6 and Romans chapter 1.” It’s very clear in there, adulterers. You see, is it wrong for adulterers to commit adultery? See, I mean, should I be happy? You know, the the the homosexual say, “Well, you know, God wants me to be happy.” Well, then you know I I’ve had all kinds of women want to have sex with me all my life and that would that wasn’t a bad thing. Some of them were really something. So should I just follow my feelings and not bridle myself because they don’t have to bridle themsel are you there? See their argument has no argument.

▶ 24:28 Us Christina was sharing with someone in the hospital and she had said a good statement to them when they said well you know God doesn’t want us to be you you expect homosexuals to be miserable and and and not fulfill what they were created to be. And they she said well you know heterosexuals have to be miserable and and do it God’s way and get married and have sex. You know they can’t just go out and have sex. Good Amen. Answer. Excellent answer. Nor abusers of themsel with mankind. Now, this word is just direct homosexual. King James says, “Not abusers of themsel with mankind because that’s how they described it in Romans 1.” But the real word there is just plain homosexuality. It’s just a homosexual. That’s the Greek word. Or revilers, people that abuse verbally, drunkards right here.

▶ 25:28 These churches that believe in drinking and you’re going to, you know, it’s just like people that want to say homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle, they are condemning these people to hell. And not only that, they’re condemning them to a horrible death called AIDS. And when the church wants to rise up and say, “Well, you know, it’s okay to drink.” what you’re doing, you’re opening the door for people to be alcoholics, make bad decisions, and do bad things. See, when Lot’s daughters wanted to have sex with their father, did they just go and say, “Lot, we want to have sex with you and have a child?” No. Cuz he he would have said no. So, they got him drunk. See, alcohol lowers your standards. And Paul says these people will not intoxicators will not get into the kingdom that they’re going to go to hell.

▶ 26:25 Thieves, covetousnesses, nor extortioners. All these underlined were listed before in the excommunication list. Thieves weren’t. But we know that if a thief wants to keep stealing, like I caught a guy at the vine back in those days getting into women’s purses. Women would come in and they would put their purse in the room over there, the whole line of purses just lined up. And I’m here in the next room and I see him out of the corner of my eye and I said, “Stop right where you are. Don’t move.” And here this gang banger, you know, he looks at me. I said, “Don’t you dare move.” And you got to deal with thieves. That can’t go on.

▶ 27:18 And I had taught these women not to do that. I said, “We got a lot of weird people coming into this church. You keep your purse in your car or keep it with you.” And so thievery is no good also. Amen. You say, ‘ Man, you really did that. I said, ‘Yes, I did. And that guy didn’t budge. And I had someone call the police. We didn’t have cell phones back then. They had to go in the office and call the police. And he’s he was he was down like this. And he didn’t move. You see, when you need something of God, he’ll give it to you when you need it. Is what I’m trying to tell you. He wasn’t afraid of me. Something moved on him to just freeze after giving those hell sins.

▶ 28:10 Talking to the Corinthians, he says, “Of such were some of you. You were homosexuals. You were adulterers. You were idolaters. See, you were thieves. You were raor verbal abusers. You were young boys that give yourself to homosexual men. You were prostitutes. See, you were meaning they are not now. Hallelujah. You young teenagers get that. No matter what they tell you in public school, God’s word right here shows that they can change. They were not born that way. You are washed. You are sanctified and justified, made right in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the spirit of our God. Remember that’s the power of God that Paul talked about earlier.

Are all things lawful?

▶ Watch this part (29:04)

Short answer: Lawful but not profitable—don’t be brought under the power of any; sex in marriage, drink the right stuff.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 29:04 See, all things are lawful for me. You see, it is biblically legal to have sex. You just got to do it in marriage. It is biblically legal to drink. Tang is a great beverage. I highly recommend it. Grape juice. I love it. You know, Coca-Cola. Oh, man. Barnes brought me a root beer when I was working up here this week with some Snicker bars. I tell you, it just Oh, it just hit the spot. He had an art notori. He wanted me to help him ref during a basketball game. So, he didn’t want this old man out there running out of gas. You want me down there? See?

▶ 29:55 See? We can eat and drink. It’s just we’ve got to bridle oursel and eat and drink the right stuff. Amen. All things are not profitable for me. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power, the control of any. When you get intoxicated, you’re brought under the control of the alcohol. See, when you join the sexual revolution, you are brought in the control of unrestrained sex. Does that make sense? Now, the hippies used to use this on me to, you know, say they got permission to do anything and then another one whatsoever is not a faith. I’m taking these drugs by faith, man.

▶ 30:46 So, it’s not sin. I go, “Faith in what?” The Bible says to have the faith of God. God didn’t tell you to do that. See, drugs are not profitable for you. Yes, we can take them in medicine for to heal and and to give get better, but to take them for pleasure, it’s not profitable for you. Are you with me? You’re under the control of them. I think Paul did a great job explaining all this. How about you? And he’s going to spend another chapter on sex because it’s an issue that’s in every generation and the church has to get it right. And maybe we raise your hand and say, “I’m going to take I’m going to follow Paul’s leading.” Yes.

What power do believers have?

▶ Watch this part (31:44)

Short answer: Just showing up and bowing your knee moves heaven—the gospel’s power grew Corinth to thousands.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 31:44 I’m going to stand up and and and also I’m going to start being a contributor when I come to church. And I I was trying to tell I tell all young believers, you don’t know the power you got just because you’re here. See, just because we show up, God will bless. And then we learn to do other things, he will bless more. You may not know the word like me and can pray like me or whatever, but you just doing your part. But I remember when I was a young Christian, I got up early in the morning to pray and seek God and read my Bible. And sometimes I’d fall asleep praying. I worked hard. I worked 12 hours a day and all that, you know, and then, you know, I told somebody in the church, “Oh, man, I fell asleep.” And they put a big guilt trip on me. Well, that’s not praying. That don’t count. So, I talked to God and God said, “Son, you don’t understand.

▶ 32:37 I move heaven when you just bow your knee down. See, I was at the place where just giving God my posture, just just giving God my time, he responded in heaven. Are you there? See, and that’s the same thing when we go to church. That’s obeying a principle to a symbol and God will honor that and move on behalf of you. So you’re important. Let me give you the illustration. Remember the 300 Greeks in the 300 movie in a narrow stretch. See, every one of them was important. Why? Because together they made a force in that front line that the big army could not conquer. And see, you’ve got to imagine yourself a little group of people and every one of you are soldiers.

▶ 33:35 And because you’re there, you have power against the enemy. Amen. Maybe you can’t fight like Hercules yet and all the rest, but you’re there with your sword. And in the spiritual kingdom, you just come with that word and you come with the right heart attitude. God will do things. We’re looking for superheroes and super preachers when we should be should look should be looking for a super Jesus in a simple people. Amen. So can people change? Can adulterers change? Homosexuals, drug addicts, yes and all the rest, we can change. Why? Because the power of God is what did it in the Corinthian church. There’s no recorded healings.

▶ 34:28 There’s no recorded casting out demons. There’s no recorded anything other than the power of the gospel being preached. And the best I can figure out using the scriptures, 15,000 members were in that church in a little over three years or around three years. So, is the word of God sufficient? Is the power of God sufficient? Yes. And that’s where we got to put our faith, folks. And this little church can have an enormous result in the community when we realize this stuff and start becoming a part of the church. Get rid of division and just do what we can do.
