Restoration's Unlimited Amount Part 2: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
After the glory of the resurrection, God sent His word to the nations; whoever touches His people touches the apple of His eye. When He dwells among us we sing. He inherits a people who freely serve Him, hears their cry, delivers them, and delights in them as they grow.
What was the glory?
Short answer: Death, burial and resurrection—after it He sent me to the nations; whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye.
▶ 0:00 The Lord of hosts says after the glory. Now, what was the glory? Death, burial, and resurrection. Yeah, Thompson’s got it. He’s listening to me. Okay, after the glory, he sent me unto the nation. Which spoil you, they capture you. You are the valuable possession of God, and the nations they do everything they can to distract you from serving your God. For he that touches you touches the apple of his eye. Man, how many know you protect your eye? Anything come close to it, that eye blinks, and you Yeah, that Yeah, and that’s God says, “You’re the apple of my eye. I’m going to do everything in my power to keep you from being harmed.” And anybody that touches you are touching the sensitive part of my personality, my person.
▶ 0:56 And that’s my people. Now, look at this. He sent me to the nations. I will shake my hand upon them. Who’s them? The nations. Okay, watch this. Watch the power of God. And they shall be a spoil. Who’s they? The nations. Who is the spoil here? See, taken captive in war. The nations. Those that had us captive are now won to Christ by the very people that they once had captive. See, the reverse of the captivity.
▶ 1:52 Do you guys see that? Now, this is a powerful promise. Let me give you an illustration of this. How many of you have ever read the book Through Gates of Splendor? Rest of you consider yourself illiterate. You need to read some of these books. Gates of Splendor, Peace Child, Lords of the Earth, some of these up-to-date stories about what God has done. Gates of Splendor tells us about a story of a man by the name of Jim Elliot who flew an airplane into South America to an a a a remote place to reach a tribe of people down there. Okay? And four guys went with him. They landed there in a place and and they put up trinkets and all this to get the people to come and then finally they make contact and all that and to make a long story short, this tribe killed all five of them.
Scripture in this part
Zechariah 2:8-9 (NKJV)
For thus says the LORD of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me.
— Zechariah 2:8-9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:00What story from 1955?
Short answer: A headline event of God’s power—there are many up-to-date stories.
▶ 2:56 They all died. It made the headlines. I mean, I’m a This is in 1955. And it made the headlines in the newspaper. I remember reading it as a kid. Well, Jim Elliot’s wife, Elizabeth, two years later goes down to South America herself. She goes into this tribe. And what she found out could have saved the lives of these men if they were knew. How many of you know the Bible says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge? This is a very small tribe. There was only about nine men in the tribe to begin with. Full-grown men. And they killed five of our missionaries because they wouldn’t defend themselves, you see. They come to preach the gospel to them.
▶ 3:48 But this is what she learned. She learned that those men killed them because they felt those men threatened their tribe, and they had to do everything they could to protect their tribe, their people. But a woman was no threat. And so she went right in. They welcomed her she lived with them. She translated the Bible into their language over a period of years. The tribe came to Christ, and these men that had killed these missionaries and her husband were brought to Christ. And the man that had killed her husband was brought to the United States, given a testimony of the whole thing. There’s a follow-up book on it, a couple of them. It’s an outstanding story, but you see those that spoiled the Christian missionaries wound up being the spoil of the wife of that Christian missionary.
▶ 4:50 Hallelujah. That’s the power of God. See, there’s a lot of up-to-date stories on this. So the servants is us, where we were once spoils of the nations, now we’re serving the nations and taking them as spoil. Hallelujah. Powerful. And see, Zechariah saw all this right along with the other prophets. And I know most of you when you read these prophets, you don’t know beans of what you’re talking about. Now, when you read it, you’re going to get some understanding. Could that be an amen? Now, Proverbs 2:8, ask of me and I will give you the what? Nations for your inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
▶ 5:44 We ask for so little. This is a big ask. And see, to do that, I’ve got to avail myself to be a part and let God use me and I don’t know. I can’t just go, “Well, you know, like, you know, I got I got uh Michael Vick wants to be a football player, but he doesn’t want to practice and you know, I you know, he just wants to be a football player, you know, he wants the Eagles to win and and so forth and all that, but he doesn’t put any activity into it. I mean, you know, you’re going to lose. In other words, we can’t just pray. We got to become part of the team. Amen? Hallelujah. That was promised to Jesus, by the way, from the Father. How many of you know when the Father promises the Son something, he’s going to back it up?
How do we acquire God’s presence?
Short answer: Sing and rejoice—when He dwells among us we praise.
▶ 6:38 Yes. Now, acquiring God’s presence and its results. This is what I told them in the Bible study. We need the presence of God. We don’t come to Bible studies and we don’t assemble together for social reasons. We come, we need His presence and we need His word. And if we don’t have that, we don’t have anything. You see? His presence is not His approval, by the way. I keep telling you that. It is His affirmation. It is Him proving Himself that He’s real, He’s alive. It isn’t Him saying, “You’re you’re okay now. I’m here, so you’re approved. You’re You got the the USDA stamp of approval.” No. You may have some bad things in your life. He comes to say, “I back up my word.
▶ 7:32 Now, listen to me, son. Me and you together, we can change your life.” Amen? Sing and rejoice, oh daughter of Zion. Why is it that all Protestant denominations sing in their church? Because it’s written in the book. You see, they sing. Why? It brings His presence. Now, He does come. I’ve been there in these denominational churches. I’ve told you, I’ve spoken in every one of them. Preached in them. They don’t know what to do when He comes. Hallelujah. We need to know what to do when He comes. We need to know how to release Him. And let Him edify and build and comfort the church of the living God.
▶ 8:24 Rejoice and sing. How many of you know when you’re delivered from captivity, the first impulse is to what? Rejoice, yeah. When Second World War was over, what did we see going on throughout the world? Rejoice and sing. And man, that oh, yeah. Hallelujah. When those Jews got liberated from the concentration camp, they kissed the feet of those soldiers. They were so appreciative. And they thanked them and they praised them. And God says He’ll deliver us out of captivity. And when we do, we should what? Sing and rejoice. And who’s Zion? The church. And there’s that female part again. I come and I will dwell in the midst of you.
▶ 9:19 So, if we want His presence, what’s one of the ways we get it? Singing and rejoicing. Church, we’re lousy at that these days. I’m just being honest with you. This church knows better. We know how to pray in the spirit. We know how to pray with intensity and meaning and we don’t. We know how to worship in spirit and in truth and we don’t. We settle for the form. We got to back We got to butt back up. Am I talking to the right people? Why? Praise is part of the principles that will bring his presence that will change people’s lives. Hallelujah. Ah.
▶ 10:15 When he comes and dwells, when we feel his presence, what are we supposed to do? Sing and praise. Okay. Yes. And let him speak. That’s where prophecy comes in and and spiritual prayers and let him speak. Let him do his work. Many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day. What’s the result of us responding to God? Many people will be joined to the Lord, not to a church, not to a denomination, but to who? The Lord. How many know that’s that will work? When you’re joined to the Lord, that works. And they shall be my people in that day. Do you remember what in that day means?
▶ 11:10 In the end day, at the appointed time, the time from Christ came to the time that he is coming back again. So, are we in that season? Yes. I will dwell in the midst of you and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me unto you. When? When you I dwell in your midst and I’m joining nations. I’m bringing people out of sin. I’m bringing them out of captivity. You’re going to know. Now, in closing, the last part of this chapter is God’s portion and his absolute power. Absolute power again is him independently having the power to do what he said he would do.
Scripture in this part
Zechariah 2:10-11 (NKJV)
“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the LORD. “Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.
— Zechariah 2:10-11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:24Whom shall the Lord inherit?
Short answer: Judah, His portion—people who freely choose to serve Him; give yourself time to grow.
▶ 12:03 It’s unchangeable and it’s unlimited. That’s absolute. The Lord shall inherit who? Judah. Who’s Judah in the prophetic Old Testament? The church. Man, you you guys are getting smart, I tell you. Woo. A in the class. A in the class. His portion. So, who is God’s portion? The church, the people. I shall again choose Jerusalem, the church. You mess up, I’ll restore you. Don’t stay Don’t stay backslidden. You get down on yourself and you think you’re unworthy. He said, “I’ll restore you. I’ll come to my church again.” Isn’t that powerful? Yes.
▶ 12:54 Yeah. How many of you ever needed as a Christian restoration? Yeah. He keeps his word, folks. We don’t have to quit and give up. He will choose us again. He chose us once. He’ll choose us what? Again. And he’ll make something out of us. Those ruined lives. Remember Daniel’s people was written in the book. See? So, Judah, Daniel’s people was also out of Judah was people written in the book like Daniel. The church. Now, people ask me, “Well, why did God create the world?” Well, because he wants you. You’re his portion.
▶ 13:46 You are what he gets out of the world of people that will choose freely to serve him and love him and spend eternity with him. That’s why he did all this. For you. He wanted to fill heaven with people, a created people, that would choose to love him. Freely choose. Hallelujah. And you know, you can choose not to, right? That’s what he gets out of this. Now, watch this. Deuteronomy 32:9, “The Lord’s portion is his people.” Exodus 19:5, “If you obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant, then you shall be a valued what?” Treasure. “unto me above all people.” So, what’s our responsibility?
▶ 14:41 Obey and keep his covenant. Amen. We do have a responsibility. These people that say it’s not by works, they’re lying to you. It’s not by shadow law works and stuff. It is by me repenting, admitting I’m wrong, and obeying the commandments of God. Amen. I can’t work myself into heaven, but I work the works of righteousness because I’m in heaven. Hallelujah. So, we become a valued treasure. Why? Because we are responding to God. You say, “I don’t feel like a valued treasure.” Give yourself some time. Babies, yeah, they’re just cute. Everybody loves them, no matter what they do.
▶ 15:37 But you give yourself some time and you won’t be a baby anymore. Saying the wrong thing and doing the wrong thing, you’ll wind up being He’ll shape you into someone who obeys him and keeps his word, and you’ll be a valuable treasure, not only to God, but to those around you who can see the valuableness in you and want what you have. Hallelujah. Now, arise, Psalms 82:8, “O God, and judge the earth, for you shall what?” “Inherit all nations.” Folks, he’s still after the nations. These people that you don’t like, he wants to win them to himself. You got to remember that. These people that want to put you into captivity and mistreat you and and do He wants to win them. So you got to be careful.
▶ 16:34 Hallelujah. Now watch this. “Be silent, O flesh, before the Lord, for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.” In the Psalms, God gives us a a great description of what he will do to save you. I love it. I love it. Now, God isn’t like this, but he knows you understand what he’s going to say here. When you ask God to deliver you, this is what God’s response is. You ready? Psalms 18:6-8. Number one, “In my distress, I called upon the Lord and cried unto my God.” Number one, see, I I go to who? I go to Jesus and I cry out and I pray to him. Number two, he heard he heard my voice out of his temple.
Scripture in this part
Zechariah 2:12 (NKJV)
And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem.
— Zechariah 2:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:03Does God hear?
Short answer: Yes—my cry came to His ears; He took me and delivered me in my calamity.
▶ 17:25 My cry came before him even to his ears. He actually hears. And when he hears, he gets mad. Then the earth shook number three and trembled. The foundations of the hills moved and shook because he was angry. There went smoke out of his nose and out of his mouth a fiery flame devoured. The Lord thundered in the heavens and the highest gave his voice hailstones, coals of fire. He sounded his arrows and he what? Scattered them. Who’s them? Those that had you in captivity. Those sins or those people or the kingdom of darkness, whoever had you in scatter he scatters them. Now, I like that description. That shows me man, he he ain’t messing around. And all I did was cry out unto him.
▶ 18:18 And he does all this to win me? Wow. He shot out lightnings and confused them. They’re in disorder. They don’t know what they’re doing. They’re like Elijah with that army. They was smit with blindness. They didn’t know what to do. They had to have somebody to lead them. And see, when God scatters them and confuses them, then they are potential people that can be brought to Christ. Remember Elijah brought the army to the king. Are you there, church? It’s powerful. See what Zechariah is saying is really powerful. If we could get this in us and let God birth it in us and act this out, we could be a powerful voice in our nation.
▶ 19:12 He took me, number five, he took me, the one who cried out to him, the one who was in captivity, in distress. I I I was in calamities were upon me. I was in pain. I was in trouble. And he drew me out of many waters. Now, you remember in the teaching on Revelation, what are the many waters? The many waters are the multitudes of nations and people. All right? See, you got to take the Bible to explain the Bible. So, he brought me out of these multitudes of people, many waters. He delivered me. He set me free. All right? From my strong enemy, from them which hated me. How many of you got people that look down on you cuz you’re a Christian? Man, I got all kinds of I don’t know where you guys are, but I just talked to some this week.
▶ 20:04 They They hated my guts when they got through. They even threatened my life. Ah. Ah. For they were too strong for me. How many of you find there’s some things in this world that are too strong for you? How many of you know some people that alcohol’s too strong for you? Drugs are too strong. Sexual is permissiveness is too strong. Anger. You just got to say your peace. Boom. See? This thing is too strong. Well, he comes to deliver you from those captivities that are too strong for you. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t know anything I can deliver myself from. I have to go to him through repentance, admitting I’m wrong, and asking him to change me. THEN HE COMES WITH HIS POWER AND WORKS IT.
▶ 20:55 AMEN? And they prevented or they confronted me. They resisted me in my calamity. You know, like Job’s three friends. All they kept doing is blaming Job, blaming Job, blaming Job. And you know, in the world today, you’re an alcoholic because you were born with alcoholic genes. You know, you’re a homosexual because you grew up in a home that you know, your mother was the dominant one and and you hated and so you you know, your dad was a wimp and so you hate men or your dad was a tyrant so you hate men and you know, come on. My calamity.
▶ 21:51 They withstand us. We need Jesus to deliver us. Only Elihu of those four men had the word for Job and Job wound up being free. Because the young man had the wisdom. Amen. But the Lord was my stay. He was my support. You resisted me, you blamed me, you put me down, but listen, I didn’t move a 1 in because my support comes from Jesus Christ. How many of met those kind of Christians? People can mistreat them, lambast them, falsely accuse them, they just stand firm. Why? They have learned to make Jesus their support. And when Jesus is your support, it doesn’t matter what the winds of adversity blow up on you, you stand firm and you don’t have to attack back or anything else.
▶ 22:44 You just stand firm. Hallelujah. I love the description of how he describes what he would do when we pray to him. This is powerful. How many like this? Man, I really love to see that fire coming out of his mouth and that smoke coming out of his nose, he’s mad. You know, everybody thinks God’s just this humble, meek little I don’t know, wimpy God up there that just loves everybody unconditionally and doesn’t Man, he gets mad. We see here he gets mad, huh? And when he gets mad, look out, enemy. He’s on my side. Hallelujah. I mean, you know, there’s a time to be strong. Yeah. He brought me forth into a large place.
▶ 23:40 What’s the large place that we read about earlier? The city that had no walls. Jerusalem, the church. Yeah, it’s always increasing. He brings us to his church. People that don’t go to church, there’s something wrong with their relationship. A lot of the promises of God comes from us assembling together. Hallelujah. He delivered me because he delighted in me. You see? You’re that valuable treasure. He did this whole world, this creation thing for you. He delights in you. You say, “Well, I’m not much of a delight.” No, you may not be, but you will be.
Scripture in this part
Psalm 18:6-19 (NKJV)
In my distress I called upon the LORD, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken, Because He was angry. Smoke went up from His nostrils, And devouring fire from His mouth; Coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, and came down With darkness under His feet. And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness His secret place; His canopy around Him was dark waters And thick clouds of the skies. From the brightness before Him, His thick clouds passed with hailstones and coals of fire. The LORD thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire. He sent out His arrows and scattered the foe, Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them. Then the channels of the sea were seen, The foundations of the world were uncovered At Your rebuke, O LORD, At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils. He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the LORD was my support. He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.
— Psalm 18:6-19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 17:25Does God delight in you?
Short answer: Yes—He expected only babyhood at first; is it right to fast? Yes.
▶ 24:33 I mean, you are to him right now, but people may not see why God delights in you because you’ve got some changing to do. But he still delights in you. You see? Our little kids, two and three years old, do they make mistakes? Do they say the wrong thing? Do they Yeah, they don’t know how to talk right. Yeah, they You know, you try to protect them from harm, and they blatantly just disobey, and they get hurt and all of that. Do we still delight in them? Yes. But must there be a change? Yes. Because if that child doesn’t change, they’re going to get hurt permanently. And bad things are going to happen to them. So, he delights in us in our growth levels, what I’m trying to tell you. He still delights in you, wherever you’re at.
▶ 25:25 Can I hear an amen? He loves you. He cares for you and he will work on your behalf. The Lord what? Rewarded me. Are there rewards in God then? Absolutely. Do all of us get the same rewards? Be careful. Uh, he rewarded me according to what? My righteousness. See, my response to him. You see, a lot of Christians think we’re all just no matter how lazy we are, how uncommitted we are, and how unrighteous we are, we’ll all get the same reward. That isn’t what the Bible says. Now, don’t get me wrong. When you’re a baby you and you die and go to heaven, you’re going to get a reward like a mature person because that’s the level you were at when you die.
▶ 26:21 You understand? God didn’t expect any more out of you than babyhood. Hallelujah. But when you’ve been in the church for two or three years, he expects what? Some growth. According to the cleanness of my hands, he repaid me. So, it’s there twice, reward, repaid. Now, Bible morality releases this Jesus absolute power. Now, let me explain this to you. So, I don’t murder. So, I don’t go out on my wife and commit sexual immorality. So, I don’t steal.
▶ 27:15 All right? That’s not enough. There’s more to morality than that. Are you with me? Morals means what? Right. Doing what is right. Doing what He said is right. He said to pray. Is it right to pray? See, Bible morality releases God’s absolute power. If we want His presence in our life, His total deliverance in our life, we’ve got to not only turn from sin, Is it right to praise and worship Him?
▶ 28:10 Yeah. Is it right to fast? Woo. Man, you hit my belly now. Watch out. Yes, He asked us to fast. What does fasting do? It gives us authority. He says, “These come out and have I nothing but by prayer and fasting.” What did the authority comes to move the kingdom of darkness when we pray and fast. That’s why most of us fast one day a week and we pray every day. Should we read and study the Bible? Is that a right thing to do? Yes, it is. You see, too many Christians are patting themselves on the back because they’re not sexually immoral, they’re not killing anybody, and God says, “That’s good. That’s really good.” But, you need to operate these other principles that bring the power.
