Zechariah saw Jerusalem measured—a picture of the church, too large to wall in, protected by God as a wall of fire. The people gather to Jesus, not denominations. We must change, confess our sins and let the Spirit bear fruit, trusting God to deliver.

Why measure Jerusalem?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: Jerusalem is the church—unwalled, beyond count like the sand; built on her ruins.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 0:00 In Zechariah 2:1-4, the messenger came and measured Jerusalem. Now, from past lessons, when God is prophetically talking about Jerusalem, who’s he talking about? The church. Okay? Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls. When he got done measuring it, his description was this is a growing city. Can’t have walls where there’s it just keeps growing, keeps expanding, keeps extending its borders for the multitude of people that are in the church, in the kingdom of God. Remember God told Abraham that he would multiply his seed as the stars of heaven and as the sand upon the seashore which are innumerable to humans.

▶ 1:01 But God knows them all. God has the number. And just like the sand of the seashore keeps increasing and the stars now the scientists found out is still increasing. More stars are being made. The universe is expanding. So is God’s kingdom. So is God’s church. In Jeremiah 30:18, Jeremiah spoke of this when he God through Jeremiah said, “I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents.” Jacob’s is referring to the whole 13 tribes of Israel. Now, some of you saying there’s 12. You need to recount them. Joseph was divi divided into two tribes, Ephraim and Manasseh.

▶ 1:56 So there’s 13. That gives people a lot of problems over in Revelations where he says out of all the tribes of Israel and two of them are missing. So anyway, or one of them is missing, I’m sorry. Out of them are uh he will bring the captivity. I will have mercy on his dwelling places and the city shall be built upon her heap. Now see the city is what? Jerusalem. The church and it’s referred to as what? A her all through the Bible, God’s people, the church is referred to as a her in the New Testament, it’s the bride. You see, all of these terminologies God gave us so we could understand what he was doing.

▶ 2:53 So the and it’s going to be built on her heap, her ruins. Now, how many of you come out of a life of ruin? Yeah. A life of sin. You see, he takes the ruin life. If nobody gives up hope like it was prophesied today, there was no hope of these dry bones in Israel. People in this world, they they mess up. They make bad decisions and it looks like there’s no hope. Their lives are ruined through drugs or alcohol or sexual permissiveness and veral diseases and all kinds of bad decisions. But God says, “I’m going to raise them up out of that ruined life. I’m going to take that ruined life and I’m going to make it good again.” Isn’t that powerful? Now, he also says, “The palace, which is the fortress, shall remain after the manner thereof.” We know that Jerusalem has not been a fortress for thousands of years.

▶ 3:57 But we know the church, the kingdom of God is a fortress. Isn’t that right? Kingdom is in power. Out of them shall proceed thanksgiving. Them those that come out of captivity those that are restored out of them shall proceed thanksgiving in the voice of them that make merry and I will multiply them and they shall not be few and I will glorify honor them and they shall not be small. Now, we know that there’s 13 million Jews in the world today. That is not a multitude. When you compare 13 million to 9 billion people, we know that 6 million of those Jews went from all over the earth to live in Israel today in the Middle East.

Scripture (NKJV)

Zechariah 2:1-4 (NKJV)

Then I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand. So I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.” And there was the angel who talked with me, going out; and another angel was coming out to meet him, who said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying: ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it.

How large is the multitude?

▶ Watch this part (4:56)

Short answer: Far more than 6 million out of 7 billion—a great multitude no one can number.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 4:56 6 million is not a great multitude when you’re talking about 7 billion people. So, we know it’s not natural Israel. And yet, God will finish his prophecies and fulfill them to natural Israel. But Israel has to come to Christ just like everybody else. Okay? But we know this Bible is powerful because Israel is back over in Jerusalem in their land after not being there for 2,000 years. God said he would bring them back and he did. So if he brings back natural Israel, will he bring back the church? Yes. If he can rebuild natural Israel, who half of them are atheists today, they’re only Jews by bloodline. They don’t even go to the synagogue.

▶ 5:48 They don’t even worship God. Surely he can build and restore a church in the earth. Amen. Hallelujah. Now, Revelation 7:9 says that there will be up in heaven worshiping Jesus a number that cannot be numbered out of all nations, kindred, tribes, and tongues. And so Zachchariah is just telling us what the other prophets told us. The Lord in verse 5 will be a wall of fire around about her now who’s her? Who’s her? The church. Jerusalem. The church.

What protects the church?

▶ Watch this part (6:39)

Short answer: God as a wall of fire around her—like Elijah’s servant seeing chariots of fire.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 6:39 A wall of fire. You see the church is growing and increasing. The wall of fire just keeps spreading out. So he is our protector to save us from our enemies. He himself is our protection. We remember the prophet in 2 Kings 6:15. They were in a city there, a little town, and him and his servant. And the army came encompassed the city with horses and chariots. And the prophet Elijah’s servant looked out and said, “Oh my gosh, Elijah, what are we going to do?” And Elijah answered and said, “Don’t be afraid, boy. There are more with us than there be with them.” Now, can you imagine this this servant boy, this young guy trying to learn how to be a prophet and by by being around a prophet, he looks out there and he sees thousands of soldiers all around, chariots all around this city.

▶ 7:46 And he looks and there’s two of them. He goes, “Man, this prophet, he’s he’s he’s losing it.” And then Elisha said, “What? Lord, open the boy’s eyes so he can really see spiritual things.” And God opened the boy’s eyes. And what did he see? Chariots of fire. All around that city between them and the and the army is chariots of fire of God. That army could be there, but they weren’t going to do anything to Elijah because God himself was a wall around Elijah. Church, are you there? Is God the same yesterday, today, and forever? Then will he be that wall of fire for us?

▶ 8:40 Yes. And these opponents that come to destroy Elijah and his servant outnumbered. Elijah said, “Lord, smite this army with blindness.” God smote him with blindness and he led him to the king of Israel. Hallelujah. Captured a whole army. Two boys, two men. Well, one man and of a and a servant captured a whole army. Folks, can God do a big thing in our generation? Yeah, we got to get this thinking right. You got to be careful living your life by the news and living your life by the statistics that are going on. God is bigger than the news and he’s bigger than statistics. Can I hear an amen? How many want your eyes opened?

▶ 9:31 Yeah, we need to see spiritual things. All right. Now, Zechariah goes on to say, “The Lord will be the glory in the midst of her.” Now, who’s her? The church. The glory. The Lord will be the glory. Now remember there in the first couple of verses, the messenger that was talking to Zachchariah went to another angel and another messenger and came back with this first person terminology. The Lord. The Lord. The Lord. So who was that second angel? The Lord. Duh. Hallelujah. The Lord Jesus, the one who’s given all power in heaven and authority in heaven and in earth.

Whom shall the people gather to?

▶ Watch this part (10:30)

Short answer: Jesus—not a denomination; He has power over principalities.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 10:30 Power over the church, power over the principalities and powers of darkness, power over the civil governments of the earth, power over the nations, and power over your life. Okay? So, the Lord, the messenger said, the Lord will be the glory in the midst of her now, let’s look at how we can recognize the glory. The hour has come. Jesus said in John 12:23 that the son of man shall be glorified or honored talking about his death, burial, and resurrection. In John 13:27 and verse 31, Satan entered into Judas. Then said Jesus, “What you’re going to do, do quickly.” And so Judas went out to betray Christ. As we all know the story. Then Jesus after Judas left said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified and honored.” And see Jesus that night was taken captive and died the next day.

▶ 11:31 His honor, his glory was in his death, burial, and resurrection. Hallelujah. And see, Zachchariah told us of this stuff way before it happened. Genesis 49:10, the scepter, the rod of authority, rod of government, rod of leadership, shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh, the Messiah, Jesus, comes, and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. We’re not supposed to be gathering around great book authors today. We’re not supposed to be coming to hear some great speakers. We’re not supposed to be coming for any other reason than for who?

▶ 12:26 Jesus Christ. Unto him shall the gathering of the people be. It’s not my denomination. It’s not some great leader. It’s not some book author or some music group. The church should be focused on one thing when we come to church and that is who? Jesus Christ. Because out of him comes everything. You find Jesus, you found everything. Amen. You need physical healing, he’s the healer. You need saved from sin, he’s the savior. You need understanding of the word, he’s the one that opens the understanding of the word. Everything is in him. Amen. And this was prophesied and Zechariah just picked up the same tone of prophecy that has been going on since the world began.

▶ 13:24 Now in verse six, he says, “Come from the land of the north and the four winds from which I’ve scattered you.” He says, “Come. Come to where? Jerusalem, the church. Now, we know, as I said before, there are six million Jews that went to Israel, but there are two billion people out of every kindred tribe, tongue, and nation today that claim to be a Christian in one form or another. Now, that’s a multitude. Amen. Two billion over two billion of the earth claim to be a Christian. I know a lot of you say, “Well, you know, some of Well, at least they’re claiming.”.

What must we do?

▶ Watch this part (14:20)

Short answer: Change—deliver yourself from alcohol, drugs, permissiveness and anger; confess and He forgives.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 14:20 All right. And you got a lot of changing yourself. So, be careful. How many got some changing to do? Yeah. Be careful. Be careful. And yet, we have to be honest. We need to be Christians, right? Yeah. Now, so that’s about onethird. That’s about onethird of the population. In fact, it is just about exactly one-third. Zechariah 13:9, I will bring the what? Third part through the fire. Refine them as silver is refined, and try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will what? Hear them. I will say this is my people and they will say the Lord Jesus is my God.

▶ 15:15 Not Allah, not Joseph Smith, the Lord Jesus Christ is his name. Amen. So we we saw in Daniel that in the last days there will be a wise people, a strong people, a people that will instruct many, a people that will turn many to righteousness. Here we see in Zachchariah that God is going to bring onethird of his people through the fire. He’s going to work on them so that they can be that wise people, that strong people. And church, whether you like it or not, you would better, it would be better for you to say, “Make me one of the third.

▶ 16:16 Make me that wise person. Put me through whatever you got to put me through that I can be one that instructs many, turns many to righteousness, be a mouthpiece for God, and a source of what he’s doing in the earth today. Can I hear an amen? We don’t want to be just pew warmers. Now, we got to remember a lot of people in church are still babies and and you know, they’re still fine, but we don’t need a Everybody can’t be a baby. We need some grown-up Christians to lead the way. Can I hear an amen? To take care of these babies. Get it? Hallelujah. So one-third Lord make us the one-third.

▶ 17:13 Now Zion’s deliverance and Zion’s spoil. Spoil is the valuable things taken after a war or in a robbery. You take the valuables. Okay. He talks about Zion’s deliverance and Zion’s spoil. Verse seven, deliver yourself, oh Zion. Now, who is Zion in the Bible when he’s talking about Zion prophetically? The church. We showed you that. Now, deliver yourself, oh church. Deliver yourself, oh people of God, that dwells with the daughter of Babylon. Babylon, of course, is the nation that took him captive. Deliver yourself from the captivity.

▶ 18:06 Deliver yourself from alcoholism and drugs and sexual permissiveness and hatefulness and anger. Deliver yourself. Do something. Now what do we do to deliver oursel? First Kings 8:47. Here’s Solomon praying after the temple had been built and the glory of God had came down or is going to come down. When they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive and repent, saying, “We have sinned. We have done wrong.” when they return to you with all their heart, soul and soul in the land of your enemies, forgive, deliver, restore them back.

▶ 19:11 And it says the same thing in the penitute only it’s in the first person there. So, we’re in captivity. Okay? We’re in distress. We got some problems. Maybe it’s a physical problem. Maybe it’s a sin problem. Maybe it’s an emotional failure in your life. You can’t emotionally handle things. Maybe it’s doubt. Maybe it’s just flatout laziness that you have a million excuses for something else keeping you from pursuing God or whatever. You’re in captivity. If we repent, we turn from the sin that got us there. If we admit we are wrong.

▶ 20:05 Isn’t that what First John 1:9 says? If we confess our sin, admit we’re sin, you know, our sin, he is faithful and just to forgive and not only forgive, but what? Cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Well, that’s an Old Testament scripture. It’s all through the Old Testament. That’s where they got all this stuff in the New Testament. It’s from the Old Testament. See, that’s how we deliver oursel. We admit we’re wrong. How many of you have a hard time admitting you’re wrong? A lot of you are lying. I know you. A lot of you are playing it safe right now. You You got to admit you’re wrong. And when you admit you’re wrong and you turn from that wrong, see, you confess it’s wrong and you promise God you’re going to turn from it and you start working on that.

▶ 20:59 You might mess up a few times and maybe more than a few times, but you work on it and you’re changing it. You see, then he will what? Forgive and deliver. That’s how you deliver yourself. By admitting your wrong and returning from the wrong. Can I hear an amen? See, people in America want to get saved and delivered without following the formula. Now, Acts 2:40, save yourself from this corrupt, perverse generation of people. How many know the people in the world are sinning worse and the Bible says they’re going to sin worse until the day comes. Do you know that? Yeah. The wicked are going to grow and the righteous are going to grow to a peak at the end time.

Why not be bumfuzzled by wickedness?

▶ Watch this part (21:53)

Short answer: God prophesied it and will deliver us; ask Jesus to save; the Spirit bears fruit.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor Kincer

▶ 21:53 And so don’t be bumfuzzled because wickedness is abounding. God prophesied it. He told us that was going to happen. People want to go to hell. They want to have pleasure here for a season in sin and the price is hell and they don’t care until they get there. Then they like the rich man in hell wished that change they wish made a better decision. Huh? But it’s too late then. But save yourself from this corrupt generation. So and then he tell he told them how to save yourself. What is it? Say it. Repent. Same word. And be what? Baptized. Water baptized. Everyone, how many of us? Everyone. Ain’t no church can rise up and say there’s another way. There’s no other way. This is it. We got to admit we’re wrong.

▶ 22:46 We got to repent from that wrong. Turn from it, forsake it, give it up. We got to get water baptized. How many have been waterbaptized? Okay, we got that part down. In the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins. So he’ll forgive us and he will deliver us and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you to your children and those that are far off as many as believe and as many as the Lord our God shall call. So what’s the promise? The promise is unto you. He will what? Save you, deliver you, set you free from your trouble, your calamity, your problem, your captivity.

▶ 23:42 He will do it. It’s not in theory. It is a fact. If he doesn’t deliver us, then he’s a worthless God. Yeah, we might as well be serving idols who are worthless. The second thing is he forgives. The promise he would forgive. He would render your record zero. Forgiveness is it never happened. Hallelujah. I like that one. Nothing’s on my record. When I ask Christ to forgive me, it’s blotted out. There’s nothing there. Not even a You know how you erase a pencil writing and there’s still something there? Man, when he blotss out, it’s nothing there. You can’t even see where something was written. And you’ll receive the gift of what?

▶ 24:35 The Holy Spirit. Now, some people, they want to be saved and they want forgiveness, but they don’t want this Holy Ghost. But the promise is all three. To you, to your offspring, and to as many as serve Christ and come to him a far off. Are we a far off from this time that this scripture was written? Is the promise Yes. To us? Is all three to us? Yeah. Then how do we get these things? By repenting, admitting we’re wrong, and turning from those wrongs. When we come to church, we’re supposed to have three things. We’re supposed to be a house of prayer. We’re supposed to pray. We’re supposed to worship and praise him. The second thing because we need him and when he comes or his Holy Spirit comes they have power to do things.

▶ 25:33 All right. Jesus is the savior. You don’t ask the Holy Ghost to save you. You asked who? Jesus to save you. That’s his ministry. The Holy Ghost will convict you of sin, righteousness, and the judgment to come. When you need convincing of things, who do you go to? The Holy Ghost. But Jesus also opens the understanding. So some of their ministries what? Cross over. You never worship the Holy Ghost. Nowhere in the Bible do you find people worshiping the Holy Ghost. You worship who? Jesus. See, you need to know who they are and what they do so you know how to use each aspect of the triune part of God. Hallelujah. See, what’s one of the ministries of God?

▶ 26:28 No man comes to Jesus except the Father draws them. You see, nobody can separate God from Jesus because God is going to bring you to Jesus. You say, “Well, I don’t I don’t serve Jesus, but I serve God.” You can’t because the father will bring you to Jesus. Right. Amen. See, when you know the understanding of the threepart God, you know why you’re talking to the part that you’re talking to and why you need the part that you need. Then you get the understanding and you also get the results. Hallelujah. The Holy Ghost has nine gifts of the spirit. Word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, discerning of spirits, prophecy, miracles, healings, tongues, and interpretation. The Holy Spirit also has nine fruits of the spirit.

▶ 27:22 Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, kindness, meekness, faith, and temperance. If you want to mature, who do you need working in your life? The Holy Ghost. You want to be fruitful, you need what? The Holy Ghost. Expressing these fruits in your life. The Holy Ghost is important. Church, Jesus is important and certainly the father is important. We don’t come to church for a social gathering. We come to church to him and we come to church to be used of him so he can save people and mature people and cause people to grow.
