Why not remember the former things?
Short answer: God says do not remember the former things nor consider the things of old, because I will do a new thing.
▶ 0:00 Then it tells us what not to remember the former things nor consider the things of old. And. Then it tells us why we’re not to remember and consider the things of old I. Will do a new thing I will bring rivers in the desert to give drink to my people my chosen. Now water God’s people doing in the desert the desert is a dry place it lacks water. The desert is a place where. It’s not very fruitful it’s not very prosperous things are not very successful in the desert and it’s lacking water so what did God say I’m gonna do a new thing and that and that new thing I’m going to do is I’m going to bring rivers in the desert that you’re in the difficulties you’re in the problems you’re in whether you got them there or someone else got you that the situation’s you are in.

— Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:00What does God promise in the desert?
Short answer: If you feel empty and dry, He will make rivers in the desert to give drink to His people.
▶ 1:16 You feel empty you feel dry I am gonna come and I am gonna bring a rivers in that desert that you are in to give drink to my people now God can bring a river. Like he did with Gideon’s army. But if they don’t get down and drink of that water. Or. Lap that water with their hand or get a dipper like down south and dip it in and drink it. Nothing’s going to happen. God’s people have to drink of the water that he brings in your situation I.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 43:19-20 (NKJV)
Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen.
— Isaiah 43:19-20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:16Can a church on fire go dead?
Short answer: Yes. He left a church on fire for God and came back to find it dead as a doornail.
▶ 2:12 Remember I was in a church that was really on fire for God I had to leave and go back to the east for a season when I came back that church was deader than a doornail and they were praying for revival and God gave me a prophetic word said what do you praying for revival for I have brought revival the waters there all you got to do is put your bucket in and drink it put the bucket in and wash yourself and the presence of God came and just changed that whole mentality around life came and it stayed you see we got to do you know we pray and God answers but we don’t reach out and possess it you understand we got to in this case drink of the rivers and it’s plural there was a river for sin there’s a river for cleansing there’s a river for.
What is the river for?
Short answer: There’s a river for wisdom, knowledge, understanding and love, for body, mind and soul, if you will reach for it.
▶ 3:13 Quenching your thirst there’s a river for wisdom knowledge understanding there’s a river for love there’s a river for everything your physical body your mind your soul and if you will reach out and drink of that river. You don’t have to remember the former things or consider the things of old anymore because God has come and changed your situation. And he says that my people my chosen when you drink you become his chosen you have not chosen me I’ve chosen you and ordained you that you might go forth and bring forth fruit it’s our choice. My chosen people are the ones that respond and drink but the rest are his people. He goes on to say these people have I formed for myself I’ve shaped them I’ve made them they shall show forth my raise now there’s no greater praise in the Bible that you can show God then letting your light shine before men that they may see your good works and what glorify praise honor your father which is in heaven you see he has an ulterior motive for blessing you he wants to win others to Christ through you.
Why does God blot out our sins?
Short answer: I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins.
▶ 4:44 Amen. So. The next part says I’m the one that blots out your transgressions I’m the one. That will not remember your sins and why does he blot out your transgressions. Why does he not remember your sins for his own sake what’s sake the sake of you bringing his praise his honor to the world around you could that be an amen. But we got a drink. We have to humble ourself and drink and we got to keep drinking after we drink we got to keep drinking is that any men.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV)
“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.
— Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:44Who is the sheep of His pasture?
Short answer: Everybody. All lands, every nation and culture, are called to make a joyful noise; black sheep, white sheep, lukewarm sheep.
▶ 5:42 These people have I formed for myself what people. Psalms 100 make a joyful noise unto the Lord and who is to make the joyful noise all ye lands all the nations every culture every language. Every tribe every tongue every nation. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord the Lord he is God he has made us you see these people have I formed for myself he does the shaping it’s not Bible seminary it’s not reading a lot of books and you need to read books it is him. Intervening in your life and personally shaping you and to a person that shows forth his praise in the earth could that be an amen.
▶ 6:48 We are his people the sheep of his pasture who is the sheep of his pasture everybody. Some of us are black sheep some of us are white sheep some of us or lukewarm sheep some of us a warm sheet someone was a cold sheep some of us are doubting sheep but we’re all his sheep and this river comes for you to reach out and drink of it and be transformed and changed by God himself. It says in the New Testament in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 if any man be in Christ he is a new creation a new creature old. Things are passed away you see remember not the former thing don’t consider the things of old your sins your failures your mistakes your doubt your unbelief he says if any man be in Christ Christ is the river of life the tree of life you become a new creature made by God.
Scripture in this part
Psalm 100:1-3 (NKJV)
Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
— Psalm 100:1-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:42Isaiah 43:21 (NKJV)
This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.
— Isaiah 43:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:42What happens when we forget the old life?
Short answer: All things become new; you become a light to the world and salt of the earth so others can drink of the same river.
▶ 8:08 Remembering not your old life all things are become new you become a light to the world a salt to the earth to bring honor and glory to God so that they can come and drink of the same river that you drank off alleluia. Didn’t Paul said that you. Believers are the epistles known and read of all men. They may not be reading the Bible but there reading our life and when our life reflects the life of Christ it draws them to him and that’s why he said these people have a formed for myself and I blot out their transgressions for my sake I want the whole world to come to me.
▶ 9:07 So. We have a new thing that new thing is the rivers plural. Whatever situation you are in there is a river that he will bring for you to drink up. And once you drink it you become. Made and shaped by God himself into a different new creature to bring praise a light to the world a salt to the earth now in Revelations he tells us let him that is thirsty come come see I got these. Banners on the wall draw nigh to God and he will what draw nigh to you he that comes to me I will in no wise what okay I don’t care what situation in I don’t care how doubtful you are how angry you are how sinful you are he will not cast you away he wants you to drink of his river and he wants to change your life but you.
Scripture in this part
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:08How do you drink of the river?
Short answer: You have to come and humble yourself; you may have to kneel or lift your hands if pride is your problem.
▶ 10:18 Got to come and in coming you got to humble yourself you may have to bow down on your knees you may have to lift your hands if that’s your problem that your pride is keeping you from raising your hand bowing on your knee. Crying out to God we all have different sources of pride and God knows them and he knows how to come to you and help you break that outward man they’re getting you to humble yourself and you can drink of the water of life freely there’s nothing you have to do but humble yourself that’s it hum yourself respond you can’t buy it with tithes and offerings you can’t buy it with good works as nothing you can do to get this river except just humble yourself and drink of it.
Where do the rivers flow from?
Short answer: Out of your innermost being rivers of living water will flow: the Spirit who was to come.
▶ 11:14 It says in John 7:38 out of your innermost being rivers of water will flow this making of the spirit which was to come and just before that he said I’m gonna give you waters to drink of that you will never thirst again you just keep drinking it will be a well of water springing up from your innermost being and you can just get water will go wherever you are and you can keep drinking of it very powerful now. Remember God said I formed these people for myself you say I made them so let’s look at people that God brought the river to let’s look at some of them you remember the prostitute Rahab on the wall of Jericho her house was on the wall she had to let the spies down she was a pie on the wall she had to let him down by a cord a rope so they could escape and get away from the Jericho military and she had heard as we heard today about.
Scripture in this part
John 7:37-39 (NKJV)
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
— John 7:37-39 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:14How was Rahab saved?
Short answer: She heard how God parted the Red Sea and the Jordan, put the scarlet cord in her window, was saved with her household, and came into David’s line.
▶ 12:26 God parting the red sea and parting the Jordan river and destroying the moabites and all the armies on the east side of the river of Jordan and fear came upon them the spirit they had no spirit their own human spirit they had no spirit to fight anymore. And she asked these spies I. Have hidden you I’ve protected you now give me one thing that me and my family would be spared from the God of Israel and those spies says your wish is granted if you hang this cord and the window you will be spared now folks her house is on the wall and the walls come tumbling down God already said that walls fallen and God’s.
▶ 13:24 Spy said you’re gonna get saved if you put this cord in your window. They created a miraculous miracle that God had to do to fulfill. Because as you know the excavations of Jericho those walls fell flat they fell right over and the army walked right over those walls so either God left that house standing for a period of time and the spies told him if you bring your mom your dad your brothers your sisters anyone into this house they all will be spared you see how it important it is for us to be a light in our own home in our own community. Because our connection with God can help bring salvation to others amen.
▶ 14:21 Now folks that lady was saying and everybody in her home and she became the great-great-grandmother of David. Who Christ was born through David’s bloodline she got into Christ bloodline by drinking of the river of God in her desert amen. Instead of sticking with she was a prostitute she was having sex with men for a living she was a sinner and she was an unbeliever but she heard and she responded she drank and the river changed her life she went from a prostitute to a very available maiden in the kingdom.
Scripture in this part
Joshua 2:9-11 (NKJV)
and said to the men: “I know that the LORD has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.
— Joshua 2:9-11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:26Joshua 2:18 (NKJV)
unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household to your own home.
— Joshua 2:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:24Matthew 1:5 (NKJV)
Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse,
— Matthew 1:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:21How was Naaman healed?
Short answer: He dipped seven times in the Jordan and his leprosy was healed; he didn’t remember the old leprosy anymore.
▶ 15:10 Are you there very powerful let’s look at Naaman he had leprosy couldn’t be cured now either he bought a maid or a maid in Israel soldiers to him and his wife or he conquered a tribe of Israel and took the maid and that’s what they did back there but anyway we got an israeli maiden young lady that is a slave of Naaman the commander of the army and she didn’t get down in the dumps and woe is me and all that for her situation she told Naaman hey if you go down to the God of Israel he’ll hear you and she convinced that captain of the army who was worshiping idols to go down to God.
▶ 16:06 People. For healing and Naaman went down and when he dipped himself seven times in the river of Jordan that leprosy was healed you see he didn’t remember the old leprosy anymore he didn’t remember the old life anymore and he asked to be excused when he went into the idols house because he was protector of the king he had to go in because he had he had the guard the king he said you you look over it I’m not there worship me I’m there protecting my king and the prophet said so be it now folks that’s a radical transformation are you with me when God says he’s going to shape us he’s going to make us he’s going to give us a life that we won’t remember or one that’s exactly what he meant let’s look at this guy here the a man resurrected Israel was at war with the moabitess an Israelite died and they were carrying him to the burial place but a mo of army moab night army came and they got scared and they go oh we’re not going to reach the gravesite that army is going to kill us and so they went over to a light just grave open Elijah’s grave and through this dead man in Elijah’s grave and Elisha had been dead so long that only the bones were left and when that man touch Elijah’s bones what God
▶ 17:36 used for the river he came alive he stood up and those guys are good love mean you can see their eyeballs what in the world is going on there is more power and a dead Christian than there is and any living unbeliever. Now there. Ok then we got the disciples denying Jesus the apostle Peter just denied him said I don’t know him cursed him cursed God wow. I mean that’s audacity. After he’s done miracles and signs and wonders and preached the gospel and seen all this stuff he cursed God and denied Jesus. That was his desert I don’t want to go to that desert how about you.
Scripture in this part
2 Kings 5:14 (NKJV)
So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
— 2 Kings 5:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:06Where did Jesus meet the disciples after He rose?
Short answer: On the shore of the Sea of Galilee, the tree of life by the river of life.
▶ 18:32 But Jesus came after he rose and he appeared on the shore now here’s Jesus the tree of life on the shore of the sea of Galilee. The river of life Peter saw him and the rest of the disciples saw him and Peter. Jumped into that water and swam to the river of life and God forgave him restored him and used him tremendously in his life and the other 12 came following but Peter who couldn’t wait he didn’t want to wait for the boat to get to shore he jumped in and no wonder he denied Christ. See he cursed. And God changed in folks when you drink of that river it is.
Scripture in this part
John 21:4 (NKJV)
But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
— John 21:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:32What did Jesus do when Peter cut off the servant’s ear?
Short answer: He told Peter to put away the sword, stop the anger, and healed the ear of the high priest’s servant.
▶ 19:31 A-changin where you forget yesterday and you are living in today this guy that got his ear cut off he was the bond slave of the high priest who hated Jesus who hated the followers of Jesus who persecuted them who killed Jesus. Wanted to kill Jesus and he sent the servant out with another group of soldiers and so forth to capture Jesus and he had to obey his master. And he comes there and Jesus is so. Sensitive in anybody’s desert. That when Peter got angry of course none of you ever get angry and retaliate somebody want to tech your christianity or attack Jesus that was Peter see I put a post on the website are we out to win souls are we out.
▶ 20:43 Just to prove we are right. Our. Christian debates and political debates to really get a solution or just to win the debate oh harris won the debate and there I she won the debate in my eyes she fell way short because of the issues that she presented were not solutions for America could that be an amen you understand do we go into debates to win the debate I’m gonna show my bride or do we go into a Christian debate to win a soul or to mature so you need to think about that could that be an amen.
▶ 21:37 There’s a big difference. Very big difference so. Anyway Peter rose up in anger cut off the guy’s ear and Jesus said hey Peter put away your sword stop stop the angry syndrome and he picked up that guy’s ear and put it back as if it never happened that was that guy’s wilderness he was a slave of a barbaric. High priests of the Jewish religion was under the domain of his requirements in his request and Jesus met him and healed him. By giving him that river of life are you there folks. Alleluia but that’s not who I want to talk about I can give you a lot more stories than this the transformation of people’s lives in their desert in the Bible but who I want to talk about is Luke 8.
Scripture in this part
Luke 22:50-51 (NKJV)
And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And He touched his ear and healed him.
— Luke 22:50-51 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:31John 18:10 (NKJV)
Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
— John 18:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 21:37Who were the women healed by Jesus?
Short answer: Mary Magdalene, Joanna the wife of Herod’s steward, Susanna and many others healed of evil spirits and sicknesses.
▶ 22:45 There were some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses. Mary Magdalene, Joanna the wife of Herod’s steward and Susanna and many others many many others healed of harmful levels and healed of sicknesses and they ministered unto Jesus of their substance what that means is they brought him food they washed his clothes I made sure he had fresh clothes they made sure he had a place to sleep whatever Jesus needed if he needed a tablet to write something down they were there. The women. But take notice that the river of God came to these women he cast seven devils out of mary. Harmful spirits now don’t always think of devils being possessed when your eyeballs rolling back and and all this stuff you can have an angry spirit.
Scripture in this part
Luke 8:2-3 (NKJV)
and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.
— Luke 8:2-3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:45What spirits are harmful?
Short answer: Anger, hate and violence; Herod’s dynasty was a hateful political power that tried to annihilate the Christians.
▶ 23:50 Anger is harmful isn’t it you can have a hateful spirit. Hate is harmful isn’t it episode literally you can have a violent spirit you want to punch everybody out. Violence is harmful in it. You know we’re always thinking of these demons have to be something really bizarre they don’t have to be they can be very simple and they come from the dark side. But Joanna the wife of Herod’s servant Herod hated Jesus from the beginning their Herod dynasty they tried to kill Jesus when he was a baby by killing every baby from zero to two years old you remember that that’s Herod’s dynasty Herod’s dynasty cut off the head of John the baptist.
▶ 24:49 Herod’s dynasty. Persecute the saints in the book of acts and they killed John James cut off his head Herod’s dynasty was a hateful. Political power that totally tried to annihilate the Christian believers back in their day are you with me and they were part of the roman process the roman government and God comes to this woman right here the wife of Herod’s chief household leader his job was to make sure Herod’s money was taken care of kids taking care of everything and Herod’s house was taken care of and God comes and she heard and she responded she got healed she got changed and though her husband was still in herds corrupt governmental system she followed Christ because she drank of that river.
▶ 26:02 That causes you to forget yesterday because you’re a new creature today are you with me. She didn’t those of course her husband she didn’t leave her husband she served Christ in spite of her husband are you there. Let’s look at another one. X13 one. Very powerful in antioch there were prophets and teachers and he lists him and to save space I only listed the one that I’m interested in okay mana and was brought up with king Herod this guy was raised as a child with Herod’s children and they grew up to adulthood and his best friend in life became the new king and he became a teacher and a prophet in the kingdom of God in that powerful.
▶ 27:13 Though he was in that corrupt political. Form of government and brought. Passed down from the roman empire from the roman government this guy heard the message responded to the message drank of that river and he was transformed from that corrupt government id ideology corrupt government beliefs in the one that became a teacher and a prophet in the kingdom of God now folks that’s transformation. Are you with me now. What’s my point today I don’t care where you’re at whether it’s physical healing you need mental healing you need you need your thinking tain emotional healing you need your emotional be emotionally strong I don’t care if there’s sin in your life.
Scripture in this part
Acts 12:1-2 (NKJV)
Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
— Acts 12:1-2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:49Can religion give you the river?
Short answer: No. You can be Catholic or Protestant all your life and never drink of the river; when we debate, debate with civility and respect.
▶ 28:14 You’re not going to get it through religion you can be a catholic or a protestant all the days of your life and never drink of the river I told you when I went back east I went to a baptist church where the presence of God came in the pre loot but what I didn’t tell you is most people did not drink of that presence when he came. When I walk over to my son’s church and the presence of God was so thick you could cut it with a knife most of that congregation was not drinking of that river. You got a drink when it comes you got to respond when it comes and then he does the rest are you with me. We may hate liberals we may hate capitalists we may hate socialists we may despise progressives we may think that atheists and evolutionists are fools and idiots but we saw today that God can come to unbelievers as well as believers and bring his river and all they got to do is reach out and drink of it and he will change them to a life that they don’t have to remember their old life anymore a totally.
▶ 29:43 Different person a new creature in God are you with me that’s why when we debate we need to debate with civility. With manners and respect because everybody is the sheep of his pasture whether they are a bad sheep lukewarm sheep rebellious sheep or whatever they are his sheep and it’s his job to bring the river and let them drink of it and bring life. Amen now we’re gonna take a communion this morning and we’re gonna sing out of Isaiah your desert shall blossom like the rose. I am shocked that people say aren’t saying there’s no salvation in the communion table because they’re always saying there’s no salvation in works there’s no salvation and water baptism Bible does not say that did you notice that the Bible never says.
▶ 30:46 Baptism doesn’t save you it’s something we made up the communion table doesn’t save you it does because the communion table remind you of Christ’s death and Christ’s death is what saves you. Amen. Baptism is buried with Christ in the water rising up a new creature Christ’s death is what saves us are you with me. Folks we need to drink of the river and he just told us it’s for every sheep in every condition. And it’s for our enemies out there now not all are going to drink you don’t have to drink it doesn’t make you drink but if you will humble yourself and drink he will change your situation.
