Continuing the series on surviving tragedy, Pastor David G. Kincer shows how Job’s friends came with false accusations and doctrines: that only the guilty suffer, that God doesn’t trust His servants and that no one can be just. Satan, not God, caused Job’s losses; reject the lies but not the friends, and pray for them as Job did.

What must you reject to survive tragedy?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: The lies of friends: their false accusations, false doctrines and false solutions. Job was covered with painful boils, marred like Jesus on the cross.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:00 Okay we’re going to be talking about surviving tragedies again and today in this chapter we’re going to be talking about how you have to reject the lies of friends the false accusations of friends and the false doctrines of friends okay if you’re going to get through tragedies you got to channel your [unclear] your fear right like we spoke about last week and you’ve got to handle your friends correctly now we’re gonna go to Job again you’ll see four people up on the screen and the artist drawing where Job is out on the ash heap contaminated with boils all over his body I don’t know if you ever had a boil but they’re very painful you can’t do anything till that core gets ripe and it just throbs with every beat of your heart and then when you slice that boil.

▶ 1:04 That core shoots out like a volcano and they hurt they’re very painful and he had him all over his body okay no artist ever does Job. [unclear] neither did they ever dip licked Jesus on the cross marred more than any man we just can’t imagine the the condition that these two men were in and on your screen you’re gonna see four men and these. Friends three of them are Job’s friends. With false solutions false accusations yet his friends believe in Jesus and the scripture.

How did Job’s friends first respond?

▶ Watch this part (1:57)

Short answer: They didn’t recognize him; they wept, tore their clothes, sprinkled dust and sat with him seven days without speaking a word.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:57 Yet they’re gonna come with false accusations they’re gonna come with false doctrines and false. Solutions to jobs problem. The fourth guy you see here isn’t Job’s friend the guy kneeling down in front of Job talking to him is not Job’s friend the three back here on the left are Job’s friends all right in Job chapter 2 verse 11 joe’s threes friends heard of a harm a Job was experiencing and they came for two reasons one was to mourn with him like we do at a funeral we go to grieve with the grieving family the other one was to comfort him to ease the pain ease the grief ease the distress ease the worry ease the fear that they come to comfort console.

▶ 2:59 [unclear] when they came to their friend that could not even recognize him that’s how sick Job was. So they lifted up their voice and they wept and they rent her clothes and they sprinkled dust on their heads for seven days this is the mourning part the grieving part. But none of them spoke one word during the seven days no words of comfort yet before they saw that Job’s grief was very very great remember he’d just lost his children he had just lost his source of income he had just inherited a lot of widows and orphans because Satan killed his employees Job had a big responsibility on his shoulders and yet he had a lot of grief and affliction because of what Satan did to him.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Job 2:11-13 (NKJV)

Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, each one came from his own place—Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. For they had made an appointment together to come and mourn with him, and to comfort him. And when they raised their eyes from afar, and did not recognize him, they lifted their voices and wept; and each one tore his robe and sprinkled dust on his head toward heaven. So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.

— Job 2:11-13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:57

Do only the guilty suffer?

▶ Watch this part (4:03)

Short answer: His friends asked, who ever perished being innocent? But Jesus, Abel and Stephen were innocent and perished. Tragedy comes to good people; their claim is a false doctrine.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:03 Then we go to Job chapter 4 and they start talking comfort and when they start talking comfort they start talking lies. All right. Job for seven they told Job now here’s Job with boils all over him he can’t even be in his house cuz he stinks from this sickness and the pain and everything and he’s lost his children he’s lost the source of his wealth to remember he was a wise man so he had things stored up he still could eat jobs. Problem lasted a little less than a year the best I can figure out all right but he lost his source of income and his wife wanted him to just die and get out of her hair and they.

▶ 5:04 Come and they tell this to joe who ever perished being innocent what are they implying Job of all this stuff happened to you because you did something wrong you are not an innocent man. Now I submit to you was Jesus an innocent man did he perish was Abel an innocent man did he perish was Stephen an innocent man did he perish these guys don’t know what they’re talking about they just want to attack and blame Job they got this this this belief that only good things happen to people who believe in God and follow God only good things that they got this belief it’s here today it’s in America today so it’s always been here and so now they’re blaming Job for doing something is why all of this tragedy came and folks.

▶ 6:08 All through the Bible and you know in your own life tragedy came to good people then they’re right it’s a false doctrine it’s a lie and you got to overcome these are his friends folks these are his companions in. Verse eight they tell Job they the plough iniquity will and sow wickedness will reap iniquity and reap wickedness and the Bible does say you’re gonna reap what you sow. But they don’t understand the full doctrine of God let me give you an example in Psalm 73:3 the wicked prosper and are not troubled or plagued as other men the same thing it says in Job 21 the 21st chapter you know where the wicked you know that they prosper nothing happens to the kids nothing happens to them and then it gives us the answer God has a day of wrath which is coming a day of judgment that they’re gonna be judged in that right.

Scripture (NKJV)

Job 4:7-8 (NKJV)

“Remember now, who ever perished being innocent? Or where were the upright ever cut off? Even as I have seen, Those who plow iniquity And sow trouble reap the same.

— Job 4:7-8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:03

Who caused Job’s tragedies?

▶ Watch this part (7:16)

Short answer: Satan killed Job’s children and employees and plagued him with boils, not God. God may allow things, but God cannot do evil.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 7:16 These guys do not know their scriptures because they do not know their God if they knew their God they would know God’s nature. Are there now we go to verse 9 by the blessed of God these people that sow wickedness and plow iniquity they will perish well Job is perishing with his sickness and all that and they’re saying God did this. God did this and a lot of people believe that if anything bad happens God did it to straighten you out and secular people especially atheists they want to blame God for all the troubles in the world that they don’t even believe in they don’t even believe in God. Are you there now.

▶ 8:12 The truth is who killed Job’s kids Satan who killed jobs laborers Satan his employees Satan did you see who plague Job with boils Satan did not God God cannot do evil the church world doesn’t get this a lot they want to blame God for things God did not do God may allow them but Satan is the one that does these things okay he created the waster to to destroy.

Does God trust His servants?

▶ Watch this part (8:51)

Short answer: They said God puts no trust in His servants, but God opened the door for Job to be tested because He trusted him, and Jesus trusted the apostles with the gospel. Angels are spirits, never women.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:51 Are you with me and see there they’re telling Job these lies and here they’re that they’re supposed to be comforted in him and they’re accusing him they’re blaming him and tell him though boy you did something really bad this is why this is happening to you God puts no trust in his servants verse 18 God doesn’t trust his servants in Job 1515 they say it in a different way God does not put snow trust God put snow trust in his saints and and they and they come up with this big illustration in the visions of the night I saw a spirit I couldn’t make out the form I couldn’t make out what it was but that spirit spoke to me and it said God puts no trust in his servants God puts no trust in his saints and what.

▶ 9:48 Do we got out there in the in the Christian world people see in 19-foot Jesus came through the wall and he said there are female angels and and the naive church goes oh wow what a Revelation. Angels aren’t men or women they are spirits. Are you there and never is an angel referred to as a woman. Never. But we saw something I had this vision God spoke to me and especially women they get all oh wow are. You there he didn’t see anything he had a nightmare and he dreamed up this statement because God himself told Satan have you considered my servant joe he’s perfect upright he shuns evil.

▶ 10:55 Who opened the door for joe to be tested. God did why because he trusted Job he knew Job would stay faithful through thick and thin you tell me God doesn’t trust his saints I tell you you’re way off base all right are you with me. The apostles did Jesus trust the apostles to go out until the world and preach the gospel did he trust them with the gifts of the spirit and the message of the kingdom yes he did didn’t he did he trust the prophets yes he did did he trust mary to have a baby. Birt conceived of God to raise that child yes he did and Joseph did he trust John the baptist to be the forerunner of the Christ yes he did does God trust his people yes.

▶ 11:55 And folks he trusts us all of us whether we’re ministers are not to be endowed with the divine nature to become mature. Saints after the very stature and the measure of Jesus Christ to come to the fullness of the faith in that right he trusts us is he big enough we saw in the worship today nothing is impossible with God in that right can he do it yes. Are you with me God trusts you. These kind of people want to be teachers of the law but they don’t know what they’re talking about and they don’t know what they confidently affirmed to be true they speak to us so confidently with such assurance and they don’t know what they’re talking about first Timothy 1:7 are you with me you have to overcome these friends they.

Scripture (NKJV)

Job 4:18 (NKJV)

If He puts no trust in His servants, If He charges His angels with error,

— Job 4:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:51

What was the friends’ “comfort” like?

▶ Watch this part (13:03)

Short answer: Comfort that kills: the foolish man is killed, his children aren’t safe, robbers take his harvest; and if your children sinned they died. If God killed every child that sinned, none of us would reach adulthood.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 13:03 Continue in Job 5 with comfort that kills yeah now here you are you’re in misery and everything else and they come and they tell you things that you don’t that’s not comfort at all and this is what they told joe the foolish man is killed his children are not safe his harvest robbers take well who did the robbers just take the harvest off joe who. Children just died jokes who is filled with boils from head to toe dying in an ash heap joe. That’s comfort that eases so no that’s an accusation. The reason this happened to you Job is there’s something wrong with you and this is what a lot of Christians believe today anything bad happens because you did something wrong and you deserve what’s happening.

▶ 14:02 In chapter 8 verse 4 if your children send Job they will die well whose children just died jobs now he’s saying his children died because of sin if God killed every child that sin none of us would get to maturity none of us would become adults would we come on folks this is stupid doctrine and stupid beliefs and it’s foolish comfort it’s not comfort at all it’s ak using it’s attacking are you there. Jove 8 6 and verse 20 God will not cast away a perfect man a pure man and an upright man well Job kept defending himself and saying I didn’t sin to bring this on me and they kept saying you did sin and joba kept saying well show me my sin and they kept saying we don’t know what your sin was but you wouldn’t have this bad stuff happening if you didn’t have sin in your life that’s what they kept telling Job and so they’re here they’re telling you’re not perfect in and an upright and pure because of these problems you’re hiding something Job.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Job 5:3-5 (NKJV)

I have seen the foolish taking root, But suddenly I cursed his dwelling place. His sons are far from safety, They are crushed in the gate, And there is no deliverer. Because the hungry eat up his harvest, Taking it even from the thorns, And a snare snatches their substance.

Can we attain perfection with God?

▶ Watch this part (15:21)

Short answer: They said you can’t, and many churches believe it. But Jesus said, be ye therefore perfect, as your Father in heaven is perfect—complete.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 15:21 Then we go to chapter 11 verse 7 you can’t attain perfection with God. You can’t attain to maturity you can’t attain to completeness in God and that’s what a lot of churches believe we’re saved a sin. Jesus himself said be ye therefore perfect complete as your father in heaven is perfect complete now if he said that and he can’t do that then he lied to us but because Christians don’t want to put in the effort and the work to grow in God you got to be in the word to grow you got to be in the church to grow in that right these are the sincere milk of the word that you might grow they that are planted in the house of the Lord will what grow in the courts of their God and grow to fruitfulness like the palm tree strength like the cedar and lebanon it’s amazing to me how the church can t keep teaching that we can grow in prosperity.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Job 11:7 (NKJV)

“Can you search out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty?

— Job 11:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:21
Scripture (NKJV)

Why does he call some prosperity preachers hypocrites?

▶ Watch this part (16:37)

Short answer: They teach that if you give God will bless your socks off, but reject that the church can mature. Those who say give and you’ll be blessed while living in mansions and not giving are hypocrites.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:37 You give to the ministry and God’s going to bless your socks off you’re gonna be rich it’s amazing how they believe that we can prosper financially and we can prosper in our health we can be healthy people but they reject the fact that we can they reject the fact that God said we can be complete we can be mature we can be people that have the divine nature. In that right and we love to hear oh if I give to God he’s gonna give back to me hallelujah yeah. We love to hear if I believe in God is going to keep me helping you yeah we like to hear that and so they flock to these churches. While they’re not healthy and they’re not getting rich but the leader is sure getting rich alright.

▶ 17:38 It amazes me that we can teach prosperity and these things but not teach that with the church can come to the unity of the faith. He that doesn’t abide in the doctrines of Christ it has not God some were folks we got to come to the unity of the faith before Christ comes or else that bibles a lie. Are you there can God do it absolutely he can do it he is God and look what he has to work with I mean we look at herself in a mirror I go oh how can that be but he’s God he can take something. That’s nothing and make something beautiful out of that nothing and when we have enough humility and humbleness like David I’m just the flea on the dog at the being humble then God has something to work with see when we can say I’m not worthy God has something to work with because it’s gonna take God to do this could that be an amen and God is gonna do this stuff folks he’s God.

▶ 18:57 What do you know that we don’t know you know you’re not the only one interpreting scripture I trust we don’t interpret scripture I trust we let scripture explain itself you think you’re the only one when I said back there in the 70s that Christ would not come in my lifetime I. Was looked at like you are a cult but God spoke to me and he gave me several reasons why he wasn’t coming and they were biblical reasons one was the first one was the glorious church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing a church after the major in the statue of the Lord Jesus Christ he hasn’t brought us there folks since the early church who was that way we haven’t come to that place have we.

— Job 20:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:58

What was the key to Job?

▶ Watch this part (19:59)

Short answer: Job said, I know my Redeemer lives. He knew God, not just head knowledge, and knew about the resurrection and judgment.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:59 See especially young Christians they think because they listen to some things on the internet and they get filled with man’s head knowledge that they know something and they don’t know beans say we we sung this that we read a scripture this morning Job said I know my redeemer lives the key to Job was he knew God. Not a lot of hidden knowledge not a lot of human understanding he knew God amen.

▶ 20:32 Any new doctrines way ahead of his time he knew about the resurrection from the dead he knew about the internal judgment he knew about all this stuff and that was way back there way back there because he knew God chapter 20 verse 5 joy of the wicked and the hypocrite is is short in other words the success of the wicked and the hypocrite is short and what are they accusing Job off yeah they said Job you know you helped the down-and-out you helped people in tragic tragic places and all that now it’s come upon you see now it’s come upon you you had a short time where you prospered because there is something wicked in you that you’ve done and God is punishing you for it do you understand that and then the hypocrite a hypocrite is someone that says something and does another okay and I’ll give you a couple of hypocrites and let me give you a couple of wicked billy gates and warren bitty they are two multi-billion acts they don’t believe in God they’re evil people have they lived to old age do they have health yeah what is this the joy of the wicked is short where do they come up with this stuff and the hypocrite Joel osteen benny

▶ 22:03 hinn now I’ll tell you why they’re hypocrites and I’d say it to their face they say if you give to our ministry God will prosper you God will bless you and no sickness will come upon you God’s gonna increase your money your income okay. Give give press down shaken together and running over will the Lord give back if you give and that scripture is talking about carrick they’re not money but anyway they use it for money and they’ve been doing it copeland there’s another one joyce myers is another one and I can go on and on they say if you give God’s gonna get back okay. Go to their income tax records and see what they give to other ministries so God will bless them.

▶ 22:57 They don’t give they live and they drive two hundred thousand dollar car they live in in 15 million dollar mansions they have boats they have airplanes they got everything they’re not giving. That is a hypocrite when you tell people to give and God’s going to bless you then you better be given and look at the money they could give if they didn’t have a twenty five million dollar home there’s a lot of more money that could go back into the ministry isn’t it that’s hypocrisy folks. Are you there and it’s in all circles it’s not just spirit-filled loonies it’s fundamental loonies and mainline churchill mooney is and all the rest when you preach something that you do not observe yourself you are hypocrite is that an amen.

Can people be just before God?

▶ Watch this part (23:59)

Short answer: They said mankind cannot be just. Yet the wages of sin is death and the unjust go to the lake of fire, so we must be able to grow into a righteous life.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 23:59 Chapter 25 verse 4 mankind cannot be just and pure in God now look at the ridiculousness of this all right the unjust are going to the lake of fire and now write the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life what is the way just the lake of fire for eternity so I’ve got to what repent from my wrong behavior. In that right I gotta admit I’m wrong I got a turn from that wrong behavior then Christ will cleanse me of my sin and give me eternal life. And then they turn around and now that’s basic Bible isn’t it isn’t it that I can repent of my sin I who I’m unjust can I repent of my sin admit I’m wrong and God will forgive me and I can live a just life.

Who twists the scriptures?

▶ Watch this part (25:03)

Short answer: The unlearned and unstable twist Paul’s words to their own destruction. Like a motorcycle tire out of balance, you need balanced doctrine.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 25:03 Now look at the irony of that. Mankind can’t be just yet. Unjust mankind is gonna go to hell. It makes no sense does it so can we grow into a righteous life absolutely. Stop making excuses for people living in sin the unlearned and unstable twist Paul’s words and other scriptures to their own destruction and those who follow them and listen to them as destruction 2nd Peter 3:16 I have on the screen here a tire that’s out around it’s out of balance ok. When it goes down the road at wobbles and if you’re in the car you’re wobbling the whole cars shakin I saw this when we were me and mr.

▶ 26:02 Barnes were young and out riding motorcycles and one of my companions wanted to race me so we’re racing down the road and he beat me and he lifts up his hand. But his front tire was out of balance and I watched this motorcycle and he crashed broke his collarbone. Why because the tire was out of balance. And folks that is what it means when it says these people not only are unlearned but they are unstable they’re out of balance they don’t have a balance of doctrine that aren’t a balance of God and their life is wobbly and sooner or later they’re gone a wreck if you keep driving on that tire that’s out of balance the tire will wear unevenly and blow up and you.

▶ 27:07 Crash you need balance doctor can that be an amen see it’s the unlearn they don’t take time to really get before God to learn the Bible they go to the internet whatever tom dick and harry saying things that they don’t have any evidence to back it up they just say things ah. And. Then there’s those that twist we see this twisted scripture up here they just twist it the way they want it to be instead of God making the earth in six days they twist it to say God made the earth and millions of years because they want to support science are you there and I submit to these people did the ax swim. Did it swim is it impossible for an ax to swim yes did did.

▶ 28:06 Jonah’s gourd grow up in one day just like that bam and [unclear] shade did it die immediately yes God spoke growth God spoke again death did Jesus rise from the grave is it impossible to rise from the grave it’s manly impossible did he do it yes he did did he raise other people from the grave don’t tell me God can’t make the earth in six days Psalm says he spoke it and it happened that’s what Psalm says about the creation. But these people they twist the scripture they twist it and they bring destruction to themselves and those that follow. Are you with me so in closing there’s two types of friends in Psalms 18 I mean Proverbs 18:24 a man’s friends afflict him that’s one kind of friend that’s what Job had they come to accuse him they come to blame him they come to attack him with false doctrine false beliefs.

▶ 29:14 Wow but they were concerned about his conduct their genuinely his friends in the natural they were concerned about his problems they really had a concern you understand I really had a compassion for joe but they couldn’t comfort him and ease that pain and ease that situation at all and then it goes on to say in that verse but there is another friend that sticks closer than a brother that’s the second kind of friend. Zechariah 13 6 this is the Holy Spirit talking through zachariah and the first person of Jesus Christ so Jesus said through Zechariah I was wounded in my hands in the house of my friends that’s Jesus talking where was Jesus wounded in the house of his friends they see these friends that won’t you these friends that afflict you in Proverbs 16:28 the gossiper the slanderer the disc running divides close friends when you get gossipers in the church the disgruntled are not satisfied they’re not happy and they start yapping their mouths they get followers and when they get followers they think they are right and there they go are you there this is happening ever since I’ve been a Christian I’ve I’ve watched church split after church split after church split.

Scripture (NKJV)

Who are Jesus’ friends?

▶ Watch this part (30:46)

Short answer: You are My friends if you do what I command you. He calls us friends because He has made known all He heard from the Father.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 30:46 From these kind of friends they’re not enemies they’re acquaintances they’re people we know. Going to John 15:13. Jesus said you are my friends if you do what I command you. Now he said we can do what he commands us is God capable of bringing us to a place where we can obey him yes we are incapable you can’t do this through head knowledge this is a spiritual thing God working in you and bringing you to a place where you are his friend amen. Greater love has no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friend did Jesus lay down his life for us folks and when we come to him and accept it we can be his friend he’s not just a savior he’s not just a manual God with us he’s not just the captain of the hosts he’s not just God and I can go on down the line of all the attributes of Jesus you can have them all you can meet with them all but one of them is we can grow to a place where we are as friends.

▶ 32:14 In it don’t that just sound cozy a friend a friend doesn’t afflict the friend that doesn’t wound and this is how he describes it I call you friends for all I heard of my father I’ve made known to you he you were my servants you were my you’re my apostles and you were my disciples but today you’re my friends because I have revealed everything the father has shown me to my friends wow was Abraham a friend of God yes. Did Abraham get Revelation way ahead of his time did he absolutely. Now going back down here.

Who wounded Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (33:07)

Short answer: I was wounded in the house of my friends: the church leaders and their followers crucified Christ.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 33:07 I was wounded in the house of my friends God gave Israel the people of Israel his message for the world. God gave them the the secret doctrines and beliefs of God and they blew it. So when Jesus came. It was the church leaders and the followers of the church leaders that crucified Christ Jewish leaders his friend the one that he gave the living doctrines the living word of God to they wounded him just like Job’s friends came and wounded Job and attacked Job and blamed Job. We need to experience all of Jesus the prince of peace the savior everything but we need to come to the place where he’s our friend because that’s where the understanding of the words going to open up he’s gonna tell you his deepest secrets things that you don’t know yet.

How was Job’s tragedy turned?

▶ Watch this part (38:41)

Short answer: God told the friends they had not spoken right of Him as Job had. They offered a sin offering and Job prayed for them, and the Lord turned Job’s captivity when he prayed for his friends. Reject the lies, not the friend.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 38:41 Those that keep his what commandments what commandments love one another don’t do harm one to another. Amen. Wow. Now remember when God came and talked to Job’s friends. God told Job’s friend you have not spoken of me like our good of me like Job has and my anger I’m angry at you and to keep from judgment upon you and I he didn’t say this but he says you got to offer the burnt offering that’s the sin offering they sinned by this false comforting these lion comforts and the burnt offering is an atonement for sin and then they had one other thing they had to let Job pray for them you see at the beginning it said reject the lies the false accusations of friends not the friend.

▶ 40:04 Hello judge hello church yes. reject the false doctrine and reject the lies reject the accusation reject the division don’t reject the friend they weren’t. Forgiven until they did the sin offering and they had Job the one they attacked prayed for them and Job. Tragedy did not turn until he prayed for his friend you see we’re not rejecting friends we’ll reject them the doctrines the attack the false accusation the things that are not true and we’re hanging on like Job. What’s true no matter what.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Job 42:7-10 (NKJV)

And so it was, after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, that the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has. Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.” So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the LORD commanded them; for the LORD had accepted Job. And the LORD restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
