From the sermonPowerful Revelations Part 2 · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

In this second lesson, Pastor David G. Kincer teaches from Revelation 2:8 through 3:14 about the first and last, the word as the sword of the Spirit, the seven spirits of God from Isaiah 11:2, the key of David, and Jesus as the beginning of the creation of God. He closes with the throne room of Revelation 4:1–8.

What does he teach from “the first and the last”? (Revelation 2:8)

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: He reads “I am the first and the last, who was dead and I came to life again,” and says “Jesus is the beginning of everything and the ending of everything.” He says “he had to give up his life, and he picked it back up again, that takes deity.”

▶ 0:00 Next, the revelation of the eternal Jesus and his word. Revelations 2:8: “The first, that I am the first and the last, who was dead and I came to life again.” So Jesus is the beginning of everything and the ending of everything. He’s the first in rank, and yet he lowered himself to become one of us, lay down his life for us, and take it back up again. Now, that is a deity. That just makes Allah and Muhammad and Joseph Smith and all them, they’re just nothing. This is real deity, are you with me? Nobody could kill him. He had to give up his life, and he picked it back up again, that takes deity. You try killing yourself and picking yourself back up. Yeah, you’re going to, you’re going to be in the grave. See, that’s God. He’s eternal, he was before he became flesh.

What does he say about the sword of the Spirit and the spoken word? (Revelation 2:12, Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 4:12)

▶ Watch this part (1:02)

Short answer: He says “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” will “separate your fleshly things from your spiritual things,” and that Jesus “created the world by his word.” He says “the Bible says the word will set you free,” and that “prayer will bring you in tune with God, and he will tell you what to do, and then you have to respond to the word.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:02 He was God when he was here in the flesh, he was God when he laid down his life on that cross, he was God when he resurrected himself from the dead, and he was God when he ascended back to heaven, and he’s God when he comes the next time. Amen. Revelations 2:12: “He who has the sharp two-edged sword.” We know that this word of the Lord is called the sword, the sword of the Spirit in the Bible. In Ephesians 6:17, “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Hebrews 4:12: “The word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword,” but we don’t read any further, “piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit.” See, that word will separate your fleshly things from your spiritual things, so that you know there’s a distinct difference and not follow the flesh. The Bible says the spirit is willing, but the flesh is what? Weak. Well, the word comes and separates the two so you can make the choice, and he is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

▶ 2:10 He knows why you’re doing what you’re doing, that word exposes your motives. Is that powerful? Yes. And he chose the foolishness of preaching to save, what? All that believe. That word is very powerful. He created the world by his word, his spoken word. When he said, “Lazarus, come forth,” out of the grave, guess what? Lazarus came forth. That’s how powerful his word is, and it’s the spoken word that’s powerful. That’s why you need to [unclear] it, sing it, you need to speak it, you need to memorize it. That word is what sets you free. You got a flaw you want to work on, you want to cure, get into the word on that problem, and that word will set you free. But in a Pentecostal, that’s Spirit-filled people, we want the man of God to [unclear] over us and get us free; in the Catholic church we want the priest to sprinkle water over us and get us free; but the Bible says the word will set you free.

▶ 3:19 Amen. And so you got to be in the word, and you got to speak that word. We’re looking for some prayer, oh, we go to a prayer meeting and I’ll get free. No, prayer will bring you in tune with God, and he will tell you what to do, and then you have to respond to the word. Are you there? That’s the revelation. Isn’t that powerful? Isn’t this powerful? If we get our eyes on Jesus, it will revolutionize our life. Now, here are some of Christ’s powerful possessions. This is what Christ possesses. Are you ready for this?

What does he say we inherit from Christ? (Revelation 2:18, Revelation 3:1, Romans 8:17)

▶ Watch this part (4:12)

Short answer: He says “we are joint heirs with Jesus Christ, what he inherits we inherit,” but that “we will never be God, but we will take on his nature.” On Revelation 2:18 he says that “darkness is the absence of light” and “a Christian should never be in what? Darkness. Why? Because Jesus is there.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 4:12 No, you want to go home? And remember, if Christ possesses it, the Bible says we are joint heirs with Jesus Christ, what he inherits we inherit. Wow. Now, we can’t be God, let’s don’t be ridiculous here, you know, we never will be creators, we will never be God, but we will take on his nature and possess the things that he possessed while he was here in the flesh. Revelations 2:18: “I am the Son of God,” or he is the Son of God, God, Jesus is the Son of God, “I’m the one who has eyes like a flame of fire.”

▶ 5:05 You know, I don’t care what kind of darkness is in you, I’m going to come and see right through it, and when light comes, what happens to darkness? Yeah, it’s gone. See, darkness is the absence of light. Darkness is nothing, light is everything, and the absence of light, you got what? Darkness. So a Christian should never be in what? Darkness. Why? Because Jesus is there. “And his feet like fine brass.” Revelations 3:1: “He who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.” The seven spirits of God are best described in Isaiah 11:2.

What does he say the Spirit of the Lord and the Spirit of wisdom give us? (Isaiah 11:2, Luke 24:49)

▶ Watch this part (6:04)

Short answer: He says “the Holy Ghost has got a lot more to it than tongues, and greater things than tongues,” and that “that Spirit will cause us to rule on earth,” meaning “we rule over sin.” He says “wisdom is the principal thing,” and “the wise man foresees the evil and avoids it.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:04 “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him.” Spirit of the Lord, Lord is all controlling, all powerful ruler. “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him.” The Holy Ghost comes upon us. He said, “You go in and tarry in Jerusalem till you be endued with” what? Power from on high. Well, one of the attributes of that Holy Ghost, and us Pentecostals, we mess it up because we, you know, have promoted for years of charismatics that tongues is the initial sign of the Holy Ghost, and, no, let me tell you, the Holy Ghost has got a lot more to it than tongues, and greater things than tongues. And the Bible says don’t forbid to, what? Speak in tongues. But, folks, there’s bigger things than tongues right here. That Spirit will cause us to rule on earth, as we will see later. Spirit of the Lord, the rulership part of the Spirit. When a guy rules, that means things are under his control, right?

▶ 7:09 Your tongue. Hallelujah. Your sexual desires. See, we rule over sin, the Spirit of the Lord, very important. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have that part of the Spirit than tongues, and I speak in tongues, but this is much more powerful. The Spirit of wisdom: wisdom is the principal thing, and in all your getting, get understanding. Wisdom makes you wiser, the word of God makes you wiser than the heathen. Are you there? The wise man foresees the evil and avoids it. See, Christians see where this decision is going to lead to, and they don’t make it. See, how many would like wisdom? How many read in James about the wisdom from above?

What does he say about wisdom from above, might, and the tractor? (James 3:17, 2 Timothy 1:7)

▶ Watch this part (8:06)

Short answer: He says the wisdom from above is “first pure, then peaceable,” and quotes “I have not given you a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind.” He says “Christians are wimps” because “they don’t ask God for these things,” and illustrates with a tractor: “The Christians have got the tractor and they don’t have the attachments.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:06 Yes, that’s the wisdom you need to be asking for, and he says ask wisdom and God will give it liberally. The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable. It’s first, what? Pure, then peaceable, it’s easy to get along with. See, it’s kind and it’s, uh, quick to submit and cooperate, it doesn’t have to be in charge. Hallelujah. Has no partiality, no hypocrisy. The wisdom from above is beautiful, church. Understanding: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,” and understanding. The Spirit of counsel, the Spirit of might, strong. “I have not given you a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind.” I have given you a spirit of strength, and yet Christians are wimps. Why? Because they don’t ask God for these things. Most of them don’t even know these things are available.

▶ 9:11 It’s like this tractor we have out here, you know, the tractor is great, but without the attachments it’s worthless. Without the attachment you’re just riding around, but you put a grabber on there and you can move big rocks, you put a bucket on there and you can move lots of dirt, you put a [unclear] on there and, man, you can level things that are rough and uneven, you put a plow on there and you can have a harvest. The Christians have got the tractor and they don’t have the attachments. Could that be an amen? They’re worthless, they can’t do anything but just run up and down saying, “I’m a Christian, I’m a believer.” Boy, that was good. Even has a horn on it, we’re good at that, “Hey, come, I can’t do anything but here I am.”

Scripture (NKJV)

James 3:17 (NKJV)

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

James 1:5 (NKJV)

Scripture (NKJV)

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

Scripture (NKJV)

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

What does he say about the key of David and the keys of hell and death? (Revelation 3:7, Revelation 5:5, Revelation 1:18)

▶ Watch this part (10:11)

Short answer: He says “the fear of the Lord is to depart from evil,” and that Jesus is the one “who opens and no man shuts.” He says “when he does something, nobody can come against it and change it,” that “he has the keys of hell and death,” and that “Jesus has been given the responsibility to build a church.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:11 You see, Jesus possessed these things and we can possess them. The Spirit of knowledge and the Spirit of the fear of the Lord. Boy, the Spirit of counsel is a good one too, you ought to hear the advice you guys give each other. We need that Spirit of counsel, believe me. The fear of the Lord is to depart from evil. How many need the Spirit of the fear of the Lord? You struggle with evil, you struggle with sin? Yeah, we need that, it’s promised to us, hallelujah, to empower us. Revelations 3:7: “He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no man shuts, and shuts and no man opens.” That’s Jesus. When he does something, nobody can come against it and change it. Revelations 5:5: “Weep not. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has prevailed to open the book and loose the seals thereof.”

▶ 11:23 You see, he has the key of David, he came of the root and offspring of David, that’s how we know he’s the real Messiah, that was what was promised in the Old Testament. In Revelations 1:18 we read that he has the keys of hell and death. Hallelujah. Hell and death: my going to hell and dying in the second death, it’s totally in the authority of Jesus Christ, not the Catholic church, not the Protestant church, not Muhammad or anybody else, it’s totally in the hands of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So shut up, this thing’s been solved. David was given permission to build a temple for God and prepare for it, but Jesus has been given the responsibility to build a church. He is the key to the building of the church, do you understand that? That’s the key of David. David was an example, a type of Jesus. Jesus is the real deal.

Does he say Jesus can come back any minute?

▶ Watch this part (12:41)

Short answer: He says “he’s not coming back until it’s fulfilled, every jot and every tittle of the word has to be fulfilled.” He says earlier predictions that Jesus would come before 1960, 1962, 1964 and 1972 all passed, and that “Jesus has a lot of things to do,” including “the great harvest that he promised.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 12:41 Hallelujah. And if he is out to build you up, and he is out to build a church in this earth, and I tell you he’s not coming back until it’s fulfilled, every jot and every tittle of the word has to be fulfilled, isn’t that right? And so with these people, Jesus said that he can come any minute? No, he can’t, because there’s some things he’s got to do, and one of them is his church. Hallelujah. When I was a kid they scared us to death because Jesus was going to come before 1960, and I’m still here. Then it was 1962, then it was 1964, then it was 1972, then it’s this year, it’s that year, the 11th hour, the second hand’s ticking, we’re almost there, I’m still here. Why? Because Jesus has a lot of things to do. Another is the great harvest that he promised, to fill heaven with people, and there’s no greater population on earth right now of all time than in our generation, and you think Jesus wants to come and put millions of billions of people to hell because the church wants to get raptured? No, he wants to bring in the harvest. He said, “Get your eyes on the field, they are ripe for the harvest.”

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 5:18 (NKJV)

For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Scripture (NKJV)

John 4:35 (NKJV)

Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

— John 4:35 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:55 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

How does he explain “the beginning of the creation of God”? (Revelation 3:14, John 1:1)

▶ Watch this part (14:00)

Short answer: He reads “the beginning of the creation of God” and says “people laugh at me when I teach this,” yet “he’s eternal, he was, he is, and he will be.” Turning to John 1:1 he says “we can’t limit him to our human thinking.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 14:00 We got our eyes on the heavens, “Come, oh come, Lord, rapture, fit into our theory.” Amen. These are distractions from Jesus. Revelations 3:14: “I am the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.” Wow. And people laugh at me when I teach this because they go, “Well, how can he be created when he was the Creator and he always was?” Well, you got to understand it, you got to read it like it is: Jesus was what? The beginning of the creation of God. Is that what it says? The start, the first. Okay, and yet he is what?

▶ 14:53 God. He’s eternal, he was, he is, and he will be, he’s eternal. Now, watch how simple it is to understand this. John 1:1: “In the beginning was the” what? Word. At the start of everything was the word, “and the word was with God.” And the word, wow. Now, you explain that in your little human mentality: the word was with God.

▶ 15:39 I’m with Rebecca, and “the word was God,” I am Rebecca. Duh. Yeah. You see, he’s supernatural, folks, we can’t limit him to our human thinking. Jesus is God, Jesus is the Son of God, Jesus is the Lamb of God, he is everything. Now look, “and the word became” what? Flesh, “and dwelt among us.” Okay, this is how Jesus was created at the very beginning, before anything else, before the foundation of the earth was laid, before the sun, the light, the moon, the stars, and all the rest, God said, “I’m going to have to go and dwell in the flesh and die for the world if they make the wrong choice.” That was his first, that’s his plan. People say he had a plan A and then he made a mistake and he got a plan B.

What does he say about Jesus being foreordained before the world began? (Revelation 13:8, Titus 1:2, 1 Peter 1:18–20)

▶ Watch this part (16:43)

Short answer: He says “God don’t make mistakes. He had one plan, plan A,” and that “when God speaks something, it’s as good as what? Done.” He cites Revelation 13:8, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, and says “this was God’s creation to save the world from sin.”

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 16:43 God don’t make mistakes. He had one plan, plan A. They could have ate of the tree of life and live forever and still replenish the earth and so forth, but they made the wrong choice, and God prepared for that, and so when Jesus came 4,000 years later and was birthed, then that creation happened, when he was created in that womb, birthed in that flesh, then that he is the first. He was, it was done before anything else, and then it was fulfilled, do you get that? And I’m going to show it to you again, you see, when God speaks something, it’s as good as what? Done. Now, Revelations 13:8, “the Lamb slain from the” what? Foundation of the world. But he wasn’t slain until when? 4,000 years later. Yes, but God said this is what’s going to happen, he created Jesus to come in the flesh and die on the cross before anything else, and he was God, but it did not take place till he came in the flesh and dwelt amongst us.

▶ 18:00 Do you see that? Do you? Hallelujah. Okay, Titus 1:2: “He gave us the hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” When did we have eternal life? Before the world began. See, it was in his plan, and we can appropriate it today. Why? Because he ordained it before the world began. See, he ordained Jesus to come in the flesh and die before the world began, the first of the creation, the first in his plan, with Jesus dying, his blood was shed before the world, before the foundation of the world was laid, before “let there be light,” before there was water covering the earth, Jesus was destined to die. Do you get it, church?

▶ 19:01 And that’s why it has to happen. 1 Peter 1:18: “We are redeemed with the precious blood of Christ as a lamb without blemish and without spot, who truly was foreordained,” determined beforehand, “before the foundation of the world.” Amen. See, that’s why he was the first of creation. It wasn’t that he was a created, a new being, this was God’s creation to save the world from sin. That was his first act. Aren’t you glad of that? Aren’t you glad that he had a plan already prepared if we made a wrong choice? Hallelujah.

What does he say about the throne room? (Revelation 4:1–8)

▶ Watch this part (19:52)

Short answer: He reads “a door standing open in heaven” and “come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this,” and says the “seven lamps of fire burning before the throne… are the seven spirits of God.” He says “an elder is an overseer in the church,” and that angels “don’t have wings,” adding “we believe that because it’s been passed on for generations.”

▶ 19:52 Yes, slain before the foundation of the world, the first of the creation of God. That’s why he can be eternal and yet the first of creation. Now we go to Revelations 4:1-8: “After these things,” after the seven churches, in the seven attributes of Jesus Christ, “I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.’” After what? The seven churches, the seven attributes of Christ. “Immediately I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.”

▶ 20:46 And here’s a picture of all this, and, uh, we got the elders sitting around the throne, we got the four beasts here with a cow head and a lion head and a human head and so forth. Here’s the elders on both sides with their little crowns, just thinking how great they are, man. Hallelujah, they arrived. Then you got all these angels, and look at that throne, the lightning bolts coming out of it.

▶ 21:23 “And he who sat on the throne was like a jasper,” that’s the upper left-hand corner, it’s a couple of jasper stones I put up there, “and a sardius stone in appearance,” sardius is over on your right, and of course the light and the lightning bolts block out this image in this illustration. Uh, “and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.” It’s a wonder the church don’t have emerald in the church, you know, we always make idols out of everything, I’m surprised we haven’t brought in the emerald thing yet. “Around the throne were 24 elders sitting on their thrones, clothed in white robes, and they had crowns of gold on their heads.” They’re feeling pretty good right now. “And from the throne proceeded lightnings.” An elder is an overseer in the church, like the Sanhedrin and Jews and so forth. “Before the throne, or from the throne, proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices.” We sing about it this morning in the revelation song. “Seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God. And before the throne was a sea of glass, and in the midst of the throne and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes in front and back. The first had a head of a lion, the second like a calf, the third the face of a man, and the fourth was like a flying eagle. And the four living creatures each having six wings, full of eyes round about within.” Now, see, the seraphim, the creatures, the cherubims, have wings, but angels, what? Don’t have wings. Hallelujah. But we believe that because it’s been passed on for generations.

Scripture (NKJV)

Revelation 4:1-8 (NKJV)

After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added by hand, and obvious caption errors were corrected; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: several words were garbled in the captions and are marked [unclear] (about 2:46, 3:07, 9:32). The captions give “Revelations 55” for Revelation 5:5 and “22” for Revelation 2:12, and the 1 Peter 1:18 passage runs through verse 20; the transcript keeps his words. The remarks on other religions’ founders (about 0:20), Pentecostal and Catholic practice (about 2:50–3:10), tongues (about 6:10), church predictions and the timing of Christ’s return (about 12:45–13:55), and Jesus as “the beginning of the creation of God” (about 14:18–17:30) reflect his views as preached.
