What does Isaiah 52 call the church to do?

▶ Watch this part (0:56)

Short answer: Awake, awake! Put on your strength; put on your beautiful garments.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 0:56 Isaiah 52 verse 1 so we’re gonna look at Isaiah Isaiah. Has got some good words for us Isaiah 52 verse 1 says awake awake. The church we need to wake up wherever you’re at if you’re the church member if you’re non-believer you don’t believe in God or do believe in God if you’re an unlearned or learned person it’s time to wake up why because the sum of money in Esther 4 to 7 the sum of money that Haman had promised to pay into the king treasuries to destroy the Jews in history. Haman was out to destroy the Jews and we have an adversary walking about seeking whom he may devour and that is the Devil so we need to wake up you can’t be going through life just thinking you don’t need to do anything you got to wake up we’ve got to pursue God we got to do what it takes to win.

What did Mordecai ask of Esther?

▶ Watch this part (2:11)

Short answer: To go in to the king, make supplication and plead for her people.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 2:11 Esther 4 verse 8 Mordecai wants Esther to make supplication some more here’s the call Mordecai wants Esther to go in and plead for the people plead before the people and the Holy Spirit is calling the church yes the Holy Spirit is stirring the church and he wants the church to go and petition the king now that doesn’t mean we stop advertising that doesn’t mean we stop preaching the word but we also need to petition the king and say king we need you to make a new law we need you to speak your word we need you to send out your power we need you we need you to do something we need to engage the one who’s got the authority and the power instead of just depending on our own strength.

Esther 4:8 (NKJV)

He also gave him a copy of the written decree for their destruction, which was given at Shushan, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and that he might command her to go in to the king to make supplication to him and plead before him for her people.

Should we stop taking precautions?

▶ Watch this part (3:10)

Short answer: No — keep your security alarms, but don’t leave out the most important thing: petitioning the King.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 3:10 Now I don’t that doesn’t mean you throw out your security alarms at home because you petitioned the king no you keep doing all that stuff but don’t leave out the most important and the most strong thing that we can do and that is to petition the king Jesus. To get him to come up with a solution. Isaiah 52 verse 1 put on strength. Keep going you can do it there you go but those aren’t.

Why put on strength?

▶ Watch this part (3:56)

Short answer: Like a helmet protects the head on a motorcycle, we put on spiritual strength; prayer and praise must not be foreign to us.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 3:56 All right turn around for me sorry. All right don’t get offended oh oh oh this is undone okay his head is protected of course I’m using a bottle but if I had a bat that would work good right his head is protected okay his hands are protected now there’s two things that you guys think about here one you’ve got to put on the helmet number two you’ve got to have the helmet okay you’ve got to have the gloves and you have to put them on all right get away from the idea and the thinking that you don’t need to do anything as a Christian you can’t just believe and then drop everything that God has laid out for you you have to go acquire the equipment and put it on.

▶ 4:56 Right riley you would never go my motorcycle riding without your helmet well some people do but I. Think you guys get okay go ahead and take it off thank you. Put on your strength ozai in the church in. Esther chapter four verse 15 she told the Jews she told Mordecai she said go gather all the Jews and fast for me neither eat nor drink for three days night or day my maids and I will fast likewise see. What else here Psalms 8 verse 2 out of the mouths of babes and nursing in for infants I have ordained strength and what is that strength that he’s talking about he’s talking about praise he’s talking about prayer you see bowing down the world thinks that is weakness see in the natural world it’s weakness for you to bow down before somebody but you see what happens in the spiritual is it is strong and mighty in bringing down strongholds of the darkness.

▶ 6:09 Put on your strengths. See you have to as a Christian you have to be willing to exercise these principles prayer praise when you come into church if it is foreign for you to praise God you are our leaving that God’s equipment that he’s given to you and you’re not putting it on you got to put it on. When we have come into the house his disciples asked him privately why could we not cast it out and God is asking us that question today sometimes we ask ourselves that question why can’t we. Do this why can’t we reach people why can’t we overcome why can’t we this why can’t we that so he said to them this kind come out by nothing but prayer and fasting you see all the advertising all the stuff that we do naturally you know there is something much higher than all that stuff and at some point in the kingdom of God there is nothing is going to come out.

▶ 7:26 Except by the spiritual principles. See when you walk in for something you have all the words you got the right you got the right format you’ve got the right scriptures you got the right nothing’s going to happen until. The spirit of God comes till Jesus comes to that person and opens up their understanding and that’s what we need. And to do that we have to petition the king when you petition the king you can’t come any way that you want to come to the king you. Can’t walk into the church you know God I got some complaints for you it doesn’t work like that you. Can’t come to the king well you know I’m just sitting down got no respect for the king I’m not gonna listen to the king that’s not how it works.

What are the beautiful garments?

▶ Watch this part (8:23)

Short answer: The fine linen, clean and bright, is the righteous acts of the saints.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 8:23 We would never do that put on your beautiful garments if you guys were gonna go meet the president if you guys are gonna go meet on the king of another nation if you guys are gonna go meet the the governor of california you’d be dressing your best and spiritually you’ve got to put on the beautiful garments. This is Isaiah Esther chapter 5 verse 1 now it happened in the third day that Esther put on her royal robes her royal attire her beautiful garments. Because she was going to go in before the king. And stood in inner court of the king’s palace she stood there. Revelations chapter 19 verse 7 his wife has made herself ready who’s his wife we’re talking about in Revelations we’re talking about the church Jesus has a wife the wife is Jesus wife is the church the bride has made herself ready and it.

▶ 9:34 Was granted to be arrayed and fine linen clean and bright for the fine linen the fine linen the bright beautiful garment is the righteous acts of the saints. Put on some righteousness. Let’s act right. If we want to come in before the king let’s act right you don’t live your life of sin and then come in to God and say God I’m here God I want this God give me a million dollar you don’t shouldn’t be asking for it’s not about a million dollars it’s about the kingdom of darkness being beaten back it’s about the kingdom of God rising up. Luke 24:49 tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you be clothed with power on high you notice how it says gar men’s right there’s a lot of garments that we need to put on beautiful garments and the.

Must we put on the Spirit?

▶ Watch this part (10:40)

Short answer: Yes. It’s here for us but we have to put it on.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 10:40 Holy Spirit is one of them if you don’t have the spirit we’ve got to get the spirit you got to put on the spirit. It’s here for us but we have to put it on let’s get away from the thinking that we don’t have to do anything as Christians. Isaiah New Testament they’re all saying the same thing put on do something get off your butt as mr. Barnes was saying get off your butt. All of you be subject one to another and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble see that’s what they were doing this morning we were humbling ourselves bowing down before the king put on those beautiful garments.

What does shake yourself mean?

▶ Watch this part (11:40)

Short answer: Shake yourself from the dust and arise; unused things gather dust. Get new desires by a new and living way.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 11:40 Next in Isaiah 52 verse 2 shake yourself shake everybody say shake yourself shake yourself from the dust arise what happened shake yourself. Look at this thing it’s covered. There’s a lot of junk maybe you look at you I look ok you start shaking whoa have you ever gone to the carwash you’ve gotten your mat out I mean this happens every time I go to the carwash you start shaking well step back I need to get a big old pressure washer sit here for 10 minutes and and spray off all the junk right that’s what it’s like Isaiah saying shake yourself get up.

▶ 12:36 Arise. From the dust you know what happens when you don’t use something when you don’t use a room in your house have you ever gone to a house that hasn’t been used and walked in what is everywhere dust. You know if you got a Bible that’s been sitting in the same place for 10 years what’s on it does. Or a tool room have you ever walked into a tool shed that hasn’t been used what’s all over the tools does they haven’t been used and see God has given us tools God has given us his word God has given us all these things and are they collecting dust.

Can anyone approach the king anytime?

▶ Watch this part (13:31)

Short answer: Whoever went into the inner court uncalled faced death unless the scepter was held out; Aaron could not come whenever he chose.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 13:31 Shake yourself by a new and living way get some new desires in your heart. Esther 4:11 all know that anyone who goes into the inner court to the king who has not been called shall be put to death and all know except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter. So here’s our story of Esther back to Esther she was afraid to go into the king because everybody knows if you go into the king without being called you can be put to death but you see she’s approaching God the king the right way she’s getting herself ready she’s preparing herself she’s not coming in disrespectfully she’s not walking in I demand. No.

▶ 14:27 Leviticus 16 verse 2 I know I’m jumping around okay but there’s a lot of things in this story that have meaning. Tell your brother Aaron not to come whenever he chooses into the most holy place behind the curtain in front of the atonement cover on the ark or else he will what die. Matthew 27:51 Jesus. Christ died on the cross he died on the cross amen and when he gave up his spirit it says behold the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom I just told you that Aaron was told that he can’t go in whenever he pleases right or he’s gonna die but here we have the veil has been rent in.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 15:20 We can go into the king but I warn you do not go into the king improperly. Put on strength. Put on prayer and fasting put on praise. Put on the beautiful garments of the Holy Spirit of humility. Put on some righteous acts before you approach the king into the holy of holy’s or you shall know me from the least of them to the greatest of them we want to know God. If you remain completely silent at this time relief and deliverance will arise from the king of the Jews from another place. But you and your father’s house profession oh.

Why are we here now?

▶ Watch this part (16:16)

Short answer: Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this — even in 2020.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 16:16 There’s a timer. Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this you know it’s year 2020 and we’ve got gadgets and we’ve got all the latest technology we’ve got all these wonderful things but who knows. See maybe you have been come been born and you’re living for such a time as march 2020. Maybe mountainside is here for a purpose for such a time as this year and this month. Do we have a purpose here. And if we remain silent relief will come from somewhere else do you got do we want to be replaced.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Esther 4:14 (NKJV)

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

What happened when Esther came?

▶ Watch this part (17:16)

Short answer: She stood at the entrance and found favor; the king held out the golden scepter.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 17:16 Do you want God to just pass you right over no I don’t want that. So finally Esther came in and approached the king she stood at the entrance and then the king what did he do he held out the golden scepter and Esther came and she touched the scepter and was accepted she. Risked her life. She risked death.

▶ 18:15 But she was willing to put on the garments she was willing to put on the strength and I. Want I. Would challenge us as a church again to think about what we used to do how we would spend a weekend fasting and praying and with particular purpose that we would ask as a church together that God would move in our city that God would move in our church. And. Whatever it is the goals that we come up with but we want to reach our community and we want to do what God’s will if a community just won’t listen that’s not our job our job is to share what the word is.

▶ 19:15 So I’d like to plan that in the future at some point sometime because when I got this message it was so powerful to me and it’s become really. I’m just sharing with the church I want to let you guys know it I think it’s important I think we need to petition the king amongst other things that we do advertising and all the stuff that a church does to bring people in and reach people we also need to petition our king and also. In Jonah chapter 3 verse 4 Jonah came in to Nineveh and he said in 40 as Nineveh will be overthrown so the people of Nineveh believed God proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them they were not some special people they were complete sinners.

How did Nineveh stay judgment?

▶ Watch this part (20:07)

Short answer: They humbled themselves, fasted and cried mightily to God.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 20:07 Bible says they didn’t know their right hand from their left. So wherever you’re at in God whether you’re miss Esther or you’re one of these Ninevites. Doesn’t matter. We can all come before God and petition him and you see they stayed the judgment they kept it back I think for a hundred more than a hundred years can you believe that. You know how many generations that is in our time that’s three more than three generations that is a beautiful thing. Nineveh a sinful city a sinful place full of destruction or harm in their city completely heat heathen.

▶ 21:03 They were able to stay the judgment of God because they petitioned God and said wait please we’re gonna humble ourselves. And of course they cried out mightily to God prayer there it is again they put on their strength and then they turn from the evil way see they started to do what was right turning from their evil way that’s a good right thing they put on those beautiful garments see this is the the kind of stuff we’ve got to do to get God’s attention and I’m sure I’m missing half of it but I got some of it and we’ve got some of it and we’ve got to remember that and we’ve got to make some time in your daily life you see when you approach God at home you’ve got to approach him in a proper way.

Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
