The enemy brings chaos—often through broken homes and childish ways. But God set the world in order by His Word and wisdom, and in Christ all things hold together. He brought order and peace to the thief on the cross and the sinful woman, and He can bring order to your life.

How do we honor the King?

▶ Watch this part (22:26)

Short answer: By humbly admitting He is King and respecting His authority.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 22:26 Jesus. Thank you. Jesus in transition here we want to just want to invite you every one of us just to lift up our voices and give our king honor this. Morning maybe it’s us just admitting that he is the king maybe it’s us just uh honoring him as king this morning let’s just take a moment here and with some like the scriptures say fear of God coming before him with humble.

▶ 23:15 Humility and just saying God you’re my king right now let’s just lift up our voices God we come before you this morning Jesus Lord Jesus we respect your authority God Lord we respect you as our c of the host Jesus Lord Jesus we come before you Lord you are our king God we want to serve you in your kingdom Jesus Lord God Lord I commit my life Jesus for serving you to serving in your kingdom God thank you this morning this morning respect you this morning Jesus glory jes thank you you may find your seats this morning we have some guests this morning we want to welcome you all at the end we’ll get everybody’s name but I want to say thank you for joining us good to have all of you and um we’re going to get right into the message this morning there’s some handouts if you’d like to follow along and this morning we’re calling it order from.

Where does chaos come from?

▶ Watch this part (24:17)

Short answer: God created the waster; the devil walks about seeking whom he may devour—but we have authority over the enemy.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 24:17 Chaos and we just want to see how God brings. Order from. Chaos and I know I’m using dramatic language but you know that’s. Okay Isaiah. 54:16 says I have created the waster to destroy and 1 Peter 5:8 it gives us a little more understanding it says be sober be vigilant because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour so we have an enemy as you know if you remember our teaching on job uh job and God have a conversation and uh God says hey where you been Devil and uh Satan’s like well you know what you know what I.

▶ 25:06 Do you know I’m walking around to and fr and he God brings up have you considered my servant job and that’s when everything started to go wrong uh but we know that that uh so it’s very important if if you’re living a life that where you’re connected to the world and you have no protection uh from the Devil from Christ you’re going to be in a world of hurt Ephesians chapter 6:12 we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against the principalities against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this age against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places and I bring this up because it says we do not wrestle meaning implying that we should be wrestling right you have to meet the uh enemy or the competition you’ve got to meet them in battle you’ got to do some wrestling and if you don’t wrestle the kingdom of darkness uh but instead you’re inviting it in your life it’s going to affect it’s going to destroy your life.

▶ 26:15 Luke 10:. 19 behold I have give you the authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means what hurt you we uh uh as was said earlier in the service when Jesus was tempted by Satan what did he use he used three scriptures to shut up. Satan and Satan had no power over Christ and Christ has that power like he says in Luke 10:19 he has given authority for us to win to fight to trample upon scorpions and serpents. And also just a reminder when you come in and you give thanks and you praise God the scriptures say enter his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise it’s a weapon it’s a tool that God gives us to fight the enemy use it and also the word as Jesus used is a weapon against the kingdom of darkness.

▶ 27:25 Amen it’s okay if you don’t have to say amen I’ll say amen for. Myself John 10:8 all who ca all whoever came before me are thieves and robbers on the door if anyone enters by me he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture and then he says in verse 10 the thief does not come except to steal to kill and to. Destroy and so I’m bringing these verses up because chaos is coming from the thief and also from us giving into our flesh chaos can come you can hurt your family you can hurt your children you can hurt your spouse by giving in to your flesh Satan will use your flesh flesh against you he’ll use your emotions against you so we have to be on the lookout some natural statistics real quick no uh and this is in the united states um looked it up real quick no father stats 90% of homeless runaway children come from a home with no father no stepfather no adopted father so even stepfathers and adopted fathers have a great impact on children 85% of children with behavior disorders come from fatherless homes 71% of teenage pregnancies come from fatherless homes 71% of high school dropouts 63% of youth suicides

How does Satan bring chaos?

▶ Watch this part (28:56)

Short answer: Not necessarily by possession—through broken homes; we must rise to become wise husbands, wives and fathers.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 28:56 85% of youth in prison come from fatherless homes so Satan doesn’t necessarily have to possess you okay everybody you know oh my gosh that person’s possessed by the Devil you know poss I’m a you’re no Satan doesn’t have to possess you he can cause. Destruction by dismembering and attacking the family. Amen and that’s what he’s doing today now I’m going to pick on the women then I’m going to pick on the men so hang in there don’t give up on me Proverbs 14:1 the wise woman builds her house but the foolish pulls it down with her hands Proverbs 31:30 charm is deceitful and beauty is vain but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised most women can have children but that doesn’t make us good or I can’t say us them good mothers any woman woman can marry a man or partner with a man but that doesn’t make them a good spouse same with the men any man most men can have children produce.

▶ 30:08 Children but that doesn’t make them good. Fathers and a man can marry a woman but that doesn’t make you a good spouse we have to rise from. Just doing what we do to uh becoming like it says here becoming a wise woman a wise man not a fool because if you’re a fool you’re going to cause destruction a wise woman what happened a wise woman will care for and love her children will care for and love her husband America is big on being beautiful on the outside but on the inside we are immature and ugly we have no fear of the Lord to depart from evil and we want to do what we want want to do regardless of the consequences.

▶ 31:00 Men Proverbs 5:15 drink water from your own sister should your fountains be dispersed abroad let them be only your own and not for strangers with you you shouldn’t be sleeping around having sex with whoever let your fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of your youth as a loving deer and a graceful dough let her breast satisfy you at all times whoa whoa and also being en raptured with her love keep you know men men and women we have this sexual desire we have to keep it where in the marriage that God has set up as a solution his own iniquities entrap the wicked man he has caught in the cords of his sin very important we can cause a lot of harm men can cause a lot of harm by being. Idiots uh by not having self-control I’m sorry edit that.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Proverbs 5:15-17 (NKJV)

Drink water from your own cistern, And running water from your own well. Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, Streams of water in the streets? Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you.

What must we put away?

▶ Watch this part (31:56)

Short answer: Childish things—like kids who leave the house in chaos.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 31:56 Please. 1 Corinthians 13:11 when I was a child I spoke as a child I understood as a child I thought as a child but when I became a man I put away childish things now I have three children and uh let me tell you this when you walk into their room uh after a week or so you’re like you’re like holy cow what happened in this room you know if kids they they come to the house and it’s like you know it’s like a tornado just came to the house like I have everything all set uh you know I’ve been washing that dishes are put away and and the kids come in it’s like w oh this is over there that’s something something’s hanging upside. Down right and especially with real toddlers right teenagers.

▶ 32:49 Too they come in the house everything has been moved everything is you go in the bathroom ho what just happen in here. Amen when I was a child I spoke as a child I understood as a child I acted like a child I thought as a child but when I became a man I put away childish things men and women it’s time to grow up. Amen and we become very selfish you know we get married and we never grew up and we are selfish with one another and it hurts it can hurt one another because we act like. Children got to you got we got to go grow from being a child and so I bring that up because kids you know they they’re wonderful in everything but uh if you take your kid mentality into a relationship your kid mentality into your life you’re going you’re going to cause.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 13:11 (NKJV)

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Has God set the world in order?

▶ Watch this part (33:58)

Short answer: Yes—by the Word all things were made; He laid the foundations with wisdom; He is not the author of confusion but of peace.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 33:58 Chaos amen you understand what I’m saying we got to put that behind. Us. Now John 1 chapter 3 talking about the the the word in the beginning was the word the word was with God and the word was God all things were made through him and without him nothing was made that was made in him was life and the light was the son of was the light of men and the life was light of men the light shines in the darkness God has made things made all things made by him through him. Amen Ecclesiastes 1:5 the sun rises the sun goes down it hastens to the place where it rose now we have technology today and we know what’s happening what’s happening the earth is spinning right the sun is is staying in its spot we are rotating around the sun but to us it’s it looks like it’s rising the wind goes toward the south turns around to the north the wind whirls about continually comes again on its circuit all the rivers run into the sea yet the sea is not full to the place from which the rivers came so you have uh evaporation in the ocean.

▶ 35:20 Condensation. Precipitation and uh Aaron did a song about that a few years ago two years ago and they did a rap song it was cute. Anyway God has set our world in. Order he has created everything in order the wind without the wind the clouds would just hang out there we’re we need the whole thing everything has its purpose every it’s not a bunch of chaos on earth I mean you know everybody’s always like yeah it’s chaos well that’s because we’re hurting each other but it’s not because the sun isn’t coming up not because the the rain oh my gosh I lost it not because the rain isn’t falling on the earth.

▶ 36:17 All of his processes are still in order God has created a world of order he laid the foundations of the earth he kept he covered the deepest with the garment the wat stood above the mountains you set a boundary that they may not pass over he sends the springs into the valleys he gives drink to every beast of the field the birds of the heaven have their home he waters the hills from his upper chambers the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your works he causes the grass to grow for the cattle vegetation for the service of men that he may bring forth food from the earth and it’s important here I wanted to point this out because Psalms the psalmist or whoever wrote the Psalm is attributing all these things that happen naturally to God’s divine work and power now if you go and you get online and you listen to the youtube guy who’s got his you know atheist channel and there oh the the world and uh everything is set mo and this is this is why no God set it in motion God set the order he is the one who put these processes into place and it says that he did it with.

▶ 37:37 Wisdom there’s a whole chapter on just wisdom and wisdom is talking and says that Jesus the Lord had me at the beginning when he laid the foundations of the earth he laid it with. Wisdom. He appointed the moon for seasons the sun knows it’s going down you make darkness the young lions roar after their prey the sun rises they gather together man goes out to his work that men we need to. Work to his labor until the evening Lord how manifold are your works in wisdom you have made them all the earth is full of your possession. The great wide sea in which are innumerable teeming things they all wait for you that you may give them their food and de season I know I’m beating this with the dead horse here like a dead horse and I’m just quoting scriptures but what I’m saying is the Psalms bring out how God has made a world of order how he has set all of these things in motion 1 Corinthians 14:13 God is not a God of what.

▶ 38:57 Confusion disorder but of peace John 10:10 the thief does not come except to steal to kill and to destroy but I have come Jesus said in red letters I have come that you may have life and that you may have it more. Abundantly. Very important we don’t have to have a life of disorder we don’t have to have a life of chaos God can come to your life and make you. Whole we’re going to look at the thief on the cross.

Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was brought forth; While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world. When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth,

How did Christ bring order to the thief?

▶ Watch this part (39:55)

Short answer: He admitted his wrong and acknowledged Jesus as King—today he is in paradise.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 39:55 And and there’s two thieves on the cross right one of them. Said uh you know if you. Are uh come on help me out here if you are the son of God save yourself and save us you know if you’re going to save yourself save us too get us off the cross so the other thief chimes in and he says do you not even fear God seeing you are under the same condemn ation so first of all this thief this man who is guilty and he knows he’s guilty is saying do you not even fear. God secondly he says we indeed justly for we receive the due reward of our deeds this man this.

▶ 40:48 Thief we don’t know what he did but on the cross he recognizes that what he did was. Wrong we don’t know what was happening in prison while he was leading up to this point while he was leading up to his crucifixion maybe he was having a time where God was speaking to him but at some point he came to a place and said I have done what is. Wrong and we have a hard time with that Americans have a hard time coming to that place where we can admit and say I deserve this. I deserve to be punished but then he says this man has what done nothing wrong the thief on the cross when did he hear that Jesus had done nothing.

▶ 41:44 Wrong did he was he in line the next person to be. Crucified did he hear Pilate say I find no fault with this man you you remember Pilate said. That was he there when it when he heard that and he saw the people say crucify him and he’s thinking to himself I know I deserve this but that man I mean when they brought me in I had a wrap sheet really. Long but they can’t find anything and they’re saying that he deserves to be. Crucified. And he said to jesuslord remember me when you come into your kingdom and so this thief on the cross.

▶ 42:40 This man is acknowledging what that Jesus is. King now Jesus is on the cross and his sign over his head or below wherever it was it said what king of the Jews. And the thief is looking at the king of the Jews Jesus and he’s he’s about to. Die so he knows that the kingdom is not on earth and he says to him remember me when you come into your kingdom this thief recognized that Jesus Christ was the king was the son of God and he submitted and acknowledged Jesus Christ as king. Jesus said to him assuredly I say to you today you will be with me in paradise and that thief is in heaven.

▶ 43:38 Today he is in heaven today he was a real man it’s not just a story this happened and he is in heaven today because he could admit and say yes I did what was. Wrong and and he could say God I submit to you you are my king and I. Pray please let me into your kingdom and so this thief who lived a life of chaos he lived a life of trouble and disorder all his life up to this point God Jesus Christ the king he took all that chaos and he got he brought order and peace.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 23:39-43 (NKJV)

Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

What holds all things together?

▶ Watch this part (44:39)

Short answer: In Christ all things were created and consist; He will never leave us.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 44:39 Powerful I’m sorry I’m. Yelling the thief brought Christ brought peace and order to this thief’s. Life he brought him into the kingdom. Amen surely we can have a response like the thief. Amen Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you nor forsake you the father Christ Jesus he will never give up on you God was speaking to this thief while in prison on his way up to being crucified and on the cross and the thief responded the other thief did not. From prison to the cross somehow he heard of Jesus and he put his faith in Christ enough to acknowledge him enough to admit he was wrong and enough to ask him to join uh request that he joined his kingdom but the point is that he’ll never leave you nor forsake you God is going to be after you till the day you die and it is proven right here with this story of the thief Jesus Christ is right there and he is he hasn’t said anything to this man and God is working on his heart touching his heart God will never leave us nor forsake us.

▶ 46:11 Amen for by him all things were created that are in heaven that are on the earth visible and invisible whether thrones or dominions all things were created through him and for him and he is before all things and in him all things consist they’re held. Together and so Christ our God the father they are holding everything. Together and so no matter what has happened in your life no matter what chaos has come either through your behavior or just life Christ can bring peace and order into your life. Psalms 24:1 the earth is the lords and all its fullness the world and those who are dwell therein a lot of people will say oh you know we think that we are our own we think that we own ourselves we think we’re on some evolution journey that we’re just here we don’t know why no that’s not what the scriptures say we belong to.

▶ 47:22 God we belong to Christ. Whether we want him or not God has set the universe the earth in motion in him all things consist and are held together the atoms that want to break apart are held together by God he can bring order out of chaos our trouble our messed up. ▶ 50:08 Disorder. Hurt pain heartache guilt. Agony maybe she hurt her children maybe she was a prostitute doesn’t say all we know is that she is a sinner she put her faith in Christ came to Christ and he healed her sin he brought order from her chaotic. Life so God is asking us those same questions this morning no matter where you’re at whether you believe in Christ or you do not whether you’ve been a Christian for 30 years or one year how are we going to respond to. Christ how are we going to uh let him address the chaos the trouble that we have in our life whether you brought it on yourself or it came not because of whatever you.

▶ 51:07 Did and what these people did is that they would they would confess the man on the thief on the cross he confessed he confessed that God is almighty and these steps came from our message on job this is what job did he admitted his sins and his faults just like the thief on the cross. He asked he want he asked God to open up his spiritual eyes job said now my eyes see you he repented from his sin and his faults and he prayed for and forgave his enemies. Powerful and this morning God is asking us how will we respond are we willing to confess that God is king on the throne are we willing to admit that we deserve to be punished. Are we asking God to open our spiritual eyes to see and are we willing to.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 7:37-50 (NKJV)

And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Teacher, say it.” “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?” Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 11:24-26 (NKJV)

and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
