God’s promises—forgiveness, the Holy Spirit, eternal life, a new heaven and earth—are for all. Abraham was fully convinced and acted; Jonathan believed but didn’t make the transition. The woman with the flow of blood, the Canaanite woman, the sinful woman and the centurion show humble faith that obtains the promises, and Christ has power to perform them.

Are God’s promises for everyone?

▶ Watch this part (28:40)

Short answer: Yes—every race, Jew and Gentile; stick to the faith that works in the Scriptures.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 28:40 Foreign. Thank you for joining us this morning. I brought some handouts if you’d like. And uh. It’s good to be in God’s house this morning we’re going to talk about obtaining the promises last week we learned about God how God is not partial. He is does not show favoritism to one group over another and that his promises are for everyone therefore.

▶ 29:33 Every race Jew and Gentile. There’s no special group he will come to you just like he came to others in the scriptures. I remember his experiencing God at 12 years old for the first time encountering God meeting with him and his presence came it’s powerful. And uh. It was an excellent excellent time in God’s presence I wept and his love came over me gave me a big hug even though I couldn’t see him but I could feel him. And from that day forward I knew Christ was real. And I know that God does not is not partial and doesn’t show favoritism he wasn’t showing me favoritism because I was born in a Christian home and I had a Christian was in a Christian school because there was somebody right next to me who was experiencing the same thing.

▶ 30:36 And he was crying and weeping and he was a stinker. It all depends on how we respond to God and how we respond to the offers and the presence that he comes and what happens how do we respond when he comes amen and this morning we want to talk about obtaining the promises. God is not partial we can all receive the promises but it’s important to understand the difference between God as a wishing a star. God is a wishing well and understanding God. Fulfilling his promises that he has made. Abraham’s faith works the scriptures talk about Abraham and his faith how was accounted to him for righteousness we have to get away from the faith that America is preaching and get back to the faith that Abraham had it’s important to go to the source.

▶ 31:41 Right. We don’t want to make up our own kind of faith we want to stick to the faith that works that’s in the scriptures. God doesn’t promise to heal everyone he’s got a picture of somebody on a hospital bed God doesn’t promise to break you out of jail when you commit crimes he doesn’t promise to reign money from heaven and give you hamburgers from heaven and he doesn’t promise to help you score for your team that’s not what his promises are you know when you’re a kid and you pray for things you pray for things like oh I pray that I would make that hockey goal today you know and God you know maybe he’s smiling and ill hell I don’t know but that’s not what he promised. Okay uh he’s not promising those things but what he is promising.

What has God promised?

▶ Watch this part (32:38)

Short answer: Remission of sins and the Holy Spirit, long life for honoring parents, eternal life, power from on high, a new heaven and earth.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 32:38 Is very important and very powerful in Acts 2:38 says repent let everyone let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for what the remission the removal of sin and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit now this was spoken by Peter but Peter was with Christ he’s a disciple an apostle and these are the things Jesus said Jesus said repent and why to remove sin so Christ is promising that we can be cleansed from our sin if we will repent and be baptized amen so this is a promise it’s a promise to muslims it’s a promise to hindus buddhists it’s a promise to every person on this planet we know in acts chapter 17 it says God commands all men everywhere to what repent.

▶ 33:37 Everyone. I don’t care what your world view is Jesus Christ is the king of kings and the Lord of lords if you are living a life of sin God is calling you to repent. And his promise is that if you repent and baptize you you identify with the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That he will remove and cleanse you from your sin. Isn’t that a great promise it will be well with you and long life how do we get that Ephesians chapter 6 verse 1. Obey your parents in the Lord honor your father and your mother this is the first commandment with what promise. This is God’s promise.

▶ 34:32 You live a life that is honoring your father and your mother even if uh they are not honorable doesn’t matter it says obey your parents in the Lord right. If they’re telling you to do something that’s good and right you’ll obey that if they’re teaching you to do the stuff that’s wrong you don’t listen to that but if it’s pick up your trash pick up your room these are all things to help you grow. You can’t go to God and say I hate my parents because they make me do stuff no. We gotta obey. As you get older you want to live a life that is honorable to your parents do you have a good reputation or are you someone who brings dishonor to your family name to your parents.

▶ 35:26 This is the first commandment with promise. 1 John 2:25 this is the promise that he has promised us and this is a big one huge what is it eternal life. That is. That’s that’s a big one I want more than anything I want to make sure I’m in heaven with Christ and if I’m in heaven I want to be as close to him as possible amen. I do not want to be far from God in heaven. I want to sit with him in his throne I want to every promise that is in Revelations I want part of that power from on high Luke chapter 24 verse 49. It says behold I send the what promise of my father upon you.

▶ 36:25 But tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endowed clothed with what power from on high and no matter if you’re from that era or the era before or today’s era we all need this Holy Spirit we all need to be clothed with power from on high to give us strength and what was the thing he said go and what wait in the city of Jerusalem we know that there were how many 500 that heard this message and how many were in the upper room 120. See God is not partial his promise is to everyone but people decide how they are going to respond amen.

▶ 37:18 Amen. 2 Peter 3:13 according to his promise look for a new heaven and a new earth in which righteous in which righteousness dwells God’s promising a new place a new earth and a new heaven so God has got big plans for the world he’s got big plans for you he has eternal life for you he has can clothe you with power from on high he can give you a long life he can cleanse your sin and more I’m just mentioning a few that are obvious. But this is important to recognize God is not some kind of task boy that you can go send you know on your gopher test go get me this God go get me that go get me no no no he’s made what promises. And you can count that God will fulfill and complete those.

How did Abraham obtain the promise?

▶ Watch this part (38:22)

Short answer: He did not waver through unbelief, was fully convinced, and acted on God’s word—circumcision now is of the heart.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 38:22 Going to Romans 4:20 talking about Abraham Paul here is talking about Abraham he did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but he was what strengthened in faith. Giving what glory to God a lot of people have trouble with this they can’t give glory to God they won’t give glory to God then are tired of uh they don’t want to worship they don’t want to give God glory and strength. But being fully convinced that what he had promised he was also able to perform Abraham. Was convinced fully convinced fully persuaded that God would do what he said he was going to do.

▶ 39:15 Therefore it was what accounted to him for righteousness and this kind of faith makes me righteous and we’re going to learn did what that what what Abraham do did he just sit there and say I believe. God made a covenant with Abraham Genesis chapter 17 10. This is my covenant which you shall keep here it is my covenant there’s a promise that we’re making to each other every male child among you shall be circumcised. Which will be a sign of the covenant it is not the goal it is not the answer it is a what sign. I will bless Sarah and give you a what son.

▶ 40:06 So we have a son of promise and we have circumcision I will establish my covenant with you uh with him for an everlasting covenant talking to Abraham so God is making an everlasting covenant and it has to do he was requiring them to circumcise the male children and God is also going to give him a what son. And what are these signs pointing to what is circumcision pointing to what is. The promise the son of promise Isaac what is it pointing to what does it mean today okay. In Romans chapter 2 29 explains and clarifies what this is talking about. Paul says he is a Jew who is one inwardly and circumcision is that of the what.

▶ 41:06 Heart. Circumcision is of the heart not in the letter whose praise is not for men but from God circumcision is the removal of the outer flesh and after you do that it is super sensitive and tender and that’s what God wants to do with your heart he wants to remove your stony flesh I’m sorry your stony heart your hard heart Americans have a hard prideful heart we are the epitome of examples of a hard heart. And God can change each and every one of us if we are willing to respond to him God is not what partial. He can complete his promises.

▶ 42:02 Making giving you a new heart is a promise. Galatians 4:19 my little children for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you so this promise the son of promise his name is Isaac he was promised to Abraham that Abraham and Sarah would have a son Sarah wasn’t able to have children but all of a sudden God comes in and says okay you’re going to have a son and his name his eyes what is it talking about today is talking about God being formed in us Christ being formed in us when there was no life when there was no spirit of God in us all of a sudden we have the new covenant that comes in and says I’m going to give you a new heart and I’m going to put what my spirit in you and my spirit is going to form and grow and become stronger and stronger in you but we have to respond we have to seek this new covenant we have to ask for it how many you want Christ formed in you how many want Christ growing in you and and changing your mind and your heart empowering you I want that I want that.

▶ 43:27 Hebrews 11:1 faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen what was Abraham’s faith. God came to him in Genesis chapter 12 verse 1 he says go get out of your country from your family from your father’s house to a land that I will show you I’ll make you a great nation and bless you make your name great and you shall be a blessing I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you and you all the families of the earth shall be blessed why will they be blessed in him and through him because who is coming out of him Christ is coming out of his his children. So here is the faith here is the actions.

▶ 44:26 That Abraham took first of all God made a covenant with him right that he had to circumcise hit the male children what did he do to complete that covenant he did it. He did it. And God comes to God comes to Abraham and he says leave your country leave your family leave your comfort. And I’m gonna take you to a new land and what did Abraham do he what he did it. It wasn’t like traveling today he couldn’t just hop on an airplane he couldn’t just drive in his uh you know u-haul van and pack up all his stuff he had to gather all his things and travel on foot and go where God told him to go he had to go to a place he had never been before but because he had this kind of faith that says yes I trust in the word that I heard I have faith in that word and I am going to act take actions that line up with that word and that’s what God is asking us today we have the scriptures we have the Bible.

▶ 45:49 How are we responding to those scriptures Abraham didn’t have the the Old Testament Abraham didn’t have the New Testament he only had what God’s word we have a big book to study and read and learn about and get the whole story and you can read God’s word and you ask and open up to you he opens up the word to you and it’s great and it’s powerful but Abraham didn’t have that. You know you ask yourself well why did Abraham get God’s voice why does Abraham get to hear an audible voice you know I I ask these questions you know God why does Abraham get to hear your voice I don’t get to hear your voice like that. You know God comes and he gives Abraham uh clear instructions clear go over here.

▶ 46:45 Because Abraham didn’t have a book we have the Bible amen we’re living in in 2023 we have everything that’s written everything that’s in that happened we have to be responsible to respond to those words. Amen to respond the promises that are already written they they work they are true so they departed to go to the land of Canaan and he took lot his nephew with him. And later on lot was captured. And you see Abraham had faith and he’s saying wait a second God said to go and take me and my family he’s part of my family. I don’t care how many kings have abducted my nephew I am gonna go get him and he got 318 of his trained servants together and he went and he attacked those four kings who had just beaten five other kings and he got his nephew back.

▶ 47:58 Why. Because he had faith and was fully convinced that what God said would happen would happen. Amen. He wasn’t going. To. Just let this promise go he wasn’t going to let lot go he believed that lot was part of the promise part of his family. We’re going to look at Jonathan’s faith. First Samuel 23 verse 14. David stayed in strongholds in the wilderness and Saul sought him every day. As you know David killed goliath dave was at this point he was anointed king as a teenager and Saul hated him because you know they sang the song Saul has killed his what thousands and David his tens of thousands so what do we got here we got a pride issue we also have an issue where God came to Saul and said I’m going to take the kingdom from you and Saul did not want to let go of the kingdom.

Why didn’t Jonathan see the promise?

▶ Watch this part (49:13)

Short answer: He believed David would be king but didn’t make the transition and died with his father.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 49:13 And so he’s seeking after David every day to what to kill David. And Jonathan went to David Jonathan is Saul’s son he went to David in the woods strengthened his hand in God so David and and Jonathan were buddies not just buddies they they they fought together they fought in battles they had each other’s back you know when you go fight in war these soldiers come back and they say none normal people don’t understand. You know these guys I would lay down my life for these guys they backed me up they fought for me they had my back they pulled me out of the ditch. That’s what these you know that’s the kind of brotherhood David and Jonathan had they would lay down their lives for each other.

▶ 50:09 So Jonathan went out in the woods and strengthened his hand and he said to David you’re going to be king over Israel and I will be next to you so see Jonathan was willing to humble himself right he was willing to say okay you’re a king man I acknowledge that I acknowledge God’s anointing. I’m gonna be right there with you and the two of them made a covenant man man this is sounding really good right it sounds good. And David stayed in the woods and Jonathan went to his own house so here Jonathan understood what was supposed to happen he knew what was going to happen he knew what the promise was. But. His faith didn’t line up.

▶ 51:04 I mean he had he believed it he believed it. But what happened to Jonathan. He died he died fighting with his father father in battle. And I would say it’s because he didn’t have faith enough to go and follow the true king. And God is asking us that question today do you have enough faith to follow the true king. It’s not just about believing in Jesus it’s not just about saying oh yeah he is the son of God no it’s believing him enough to go out and follow him where he is to submit yourself to his authority to put yourself where he is take up your cross and follow me.

▶ 52:00 Amen. There’s a big difference. And so Jonathan he he was close but he didn’t make the transition. And we have to make that important transition. So Abraham his faith we see the results of his faith he did exactly what God wanted him to do Noah did what God wanted him to do he built the ark he spent a hundred years of his life or more building that ark. Going out to the woods cutting down uh trees cutting wood putting it all together and you got to remember God can put the knowledge into your mind and into your heart of how to do something he equips you. He could have enabled Noah to understand how to build he may not have known how to do any of that I mean can you imagine him to come into a millennial today and saying build a boat.

▶ 53:04 They’re like how how are things built what is what is pitch what is sealant I don’t what. Amen. But I guarantee you if a millennial today were to hear God’s message about building a boat and then applied themselves God would give them the strength the ability to do it. If they were willing to respond amen. Luke 8:43 in the New Testament people were coming out to David in the Old Testament people were not Jonathan not michaela’s wife but many other people were coming out to David in the wilderness. And in Luke chapter 8 43 we have a very similar thing happening in Jesus’s day people are coming to who to Jesus Jesus said of the uh religious people he said you won’t come to me that you may have what life.

What faith did the woman with the flow of blood have?

▶ Watch this part (54:13)

Short answer: She overcame obstacles, pushed through and touched His garment.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 54:13 But many people did starting with this woman who had a flow of blood in Luke 8:43 for 12 years she had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any she’s at the end of a row. This is her last chance she doesn’t know what else to do she’s desperate. And she said if I can just touch the hem of his garment I know that he’ll heal me I don’t know where she came up with that. I mean where does where do you get that. Right. But she got out of her house she was sick she was hurting she had to push through a crowd to where Jesus was and she touched his garment and the flow of blood stopped and Jesus stops what he’s doing now remember I think I’ve preached this before or mentioned this before he already knows who touched him.

▶ 55:21 He knows her name he saw her coming down from her house she knows he knows where she lives. But he stops and what does he say who touched me. Why. Because he knows that this is going to be written for you and for me and for the world. And the question is are we seeking to touch to know to experience Jesus Christ. Are we coming after Christ where he is are we going and running to and seeking God. Are we leaving our opinions and our beliefs behind.

▶ 56:13 And seeking to touch the king of kings and the Lord of lords who touched me very important question Jesus is asking and then what does he say I perceived I felt virtue power go out of me now people are touching him all around and nothing has happened but this woman. When she touched Jesus Christ power came out of him and touch and and healed her Americans today need this kind of healing we need this kind of healing for our minds. For our spiritual man and if you want any healing from Jesus Christ if you want a healing from from Christ that men can’t do you need to seek Christ you need to put your faith and trust in him get out of your house get out go seek Christ.

▶ 57:22 Find him. Go to his place go to where he is. You know she had to reach out her hand she had to touch his garment she had to overcome the obstacles there’s a lot of obstacles getting in getting to church on Sunday. Amen and some of us got really good every week at overcoming the obstacles if we’re so good at it we can just do it in our no problem we’ve just we’ve overcome the obstacles before uh all of a sudden a new one comes up is like I know how to solve that problem I’m still getting to church. I’m going to God’s house. Amen. But we’ve got to come out from where we are this is an example of faith Jesus says to her what you’re what faith.

▶ 58:24 Has made you well. And as I have just explained her actions that she took. She entrusted Jesus so much that she was willing to even though she was sick pushed through a crowd travel to find and to just touch that part of the hem of his garment. Powerful. A powerful example of faith. 1521. Matthew a woman of Canaan it was not a Jew she was not even part of Israel. She was from another place she came she cried out to Jesus. You know I don’t know how you get your child I don’t know how your child becomes demon-possessed I don’t know how old the child was you know was she old enough to be a teenager where she was playing around with that so was her mom a witch doctor I don’t know doesn’t say but her daughter has a demon and she doesn’t know what to do.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 8:43-48 (NKJV)

Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

What did the woman of Canaan endure?

▶ Watch this part (59:34)

Short answer: Shame and tough words, yet she humbled herself—great is your faith.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 59:34 And Jesus exchanges some choice tough words with this girl this woman. And this woman of Canaan had had to endure some obstacles the shame. That her daughter is demon possessed the shame that she is a sinner she’s living a life of sin Jesus calls her a dog in front of everyone. And she said even the dogs eat from eat the crumbs from the master’s table Jesus I don’t care what you say to me right now I need you. And I’ve I’m guilty of everything you’re saying I’m guilty of but I need you.

▶ 1:00:30 And she’s and he said great is your faith what faith. Has she came to Christ. Endured some ridicule humbled herself. Cried out to him. Do we do that why aren’t we doing that. What is with us Americans what what is wrong with us or we can’t humble ourselves. We can’t come to Christ like this. Luke chapter 7 36 a woman the woman with the alabaster uh. Perfume bottle of bastard she came she she was known throughout the community as a sinner as soon as she stepped in the door everybody looks at her and they give her that look like uh what is she doing here we know her and.

And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

What did the sinful woman do?

▶ Watch this part (1:01:27)

Short answer: She washed Jesus’ feet with tears, through with her sin.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 1:01:27 She starts to weep and she starts to wash Jesus’s feet and everybody’s like what is he doing. Why is she why is he allowing her to touch him doesn’t he know. This woman comes in and as soon as she’s in the presence of Christ she begins to weep. Because she knows she’s a sinner. And she’s humbling herself. She has brought something to bring oil to make Jesus fragrant she’s brought something. She’s humbling herself she’s using her the tears from eyes can you imagine how much she had to weep. She was bawling.

▶ 1:02:20 She had sin in her heart a lot of sin that she had done and she was she was through with it she didn’t want it anymore. And she comes in Christ’s presence she begins to weep and she knows that he has the power to cleanse her and she’s weeping. And he’s she’s drying his feet with her hair. And she puts that oil on his feet. And he says your faith has saved you what faith. That this woman was willing to endure the ridicule. To come out from where she was. To come to where Jesus is and humble herself before.

▶ 1:03:12 Him. This is the kind of faith that will help you obtain the promises this is the kind of faith all these people all these examples that we have this is the kind of faith we need. Willing to humble ourselves willing to uh. Go to where Jesus is. You know we might have to go and administer an outreach to people maybe that’s where he’s at. And he wants to reach people we’ve got to be willing to do it. Amen. Matthew 8 chapter chapter 8 verse 5 a centurion came to him pleading with him saying Lord my servant is lying at home paralyzed.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 7:37-50 (NKJV)

And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, “This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Teacher, say it.” “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?” Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

What was the centurion’s faith?

▶ Watch this part (1:04:11)

Short answer: Humility and belief in Christ’s authority to heal with a word.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 1:04:11 Tormented. And Jesus says oh I’ll come and heal him I mean gosh I got a centurion here a centurion comes and he’s decked out and he’s got his helmet and he’s got his his armor on and he’s got his weapons and I mean he was probably tall he was probably muscular he was this guy was no joke. And he comes to Jesus who we don’t know how tall he was. But this centurion. Like a general or like he got arnold schwarzenegger or some bodybuild some big guy people are afraid of he comes to Jesus and he humbles himself. And he says Jesus. Please. Help me.

▶ 1:05:04 Do you understand how that’s faith do you understand how important that faith is that faith of humility. The centurion stopping what he’s doing the centurion he is holding whatever roman uh uh orders that he has he’s putting him on hold and he’s going to who Jesus. And he’s humbling himself. Amen. He didn’t come and demand he doesn’t come and point the sword at him and spirit you better come over here and heal my no no he came respectfully. Giving honor to God to Jesus said please I pray please. Right. And Jesus is like oh man I’ll respond to that that’s a good I’ll take it and he goes to make his first step in the the centurion says wait hold on.

▶ 1:06:11 And he starts to say Lord I believe you have the authority to heal. With just your words I’m a man under authority I have people over me and I have people under me and I tell this person go and he goes they make commands to me I go and I do it God you can just say the word and it will happen. And Jesus says he’s like wow. Amen. The centurion. Who was not a Jew. It was fully convinced that Jesus had the power to heal his servant with just the words of his mouth.

▶ 1:07:08 And here he is he’s trying to convince the religious Jews and the people in the synagogue that he is the son of God he’s trying to show you know he can’t get them convinced. And this centurion who’s not even a Jew comes down and he says not only do I believe you’re the son of God but I believe you can heal with just the words from your mouth that’s how much faith I have I am convinced that you’re the king of kings and Lord of lords. You see the difference. On one side these guys won’t believe for nothing on the other side this guy is humbling himself he has faith not only that he is who he says he is not only that he can heal but that he can heal with just the word of his mouth.

▶ 1:08:01 He believed in the authority of God and the authority of Jesus Christ his son. You know he’s saying man if I can command my servants to go do stuff if God is God he can sure as heck go you know make commands and make stuff happen. Right. And his servant was healed. You have people in the Bible in mark chapter 9 verse 23 if you can believe all things are possible to him who believes the father cried out and said Lord I believe help my unbelief a lot of people in the scriptures. Even though they didn’t have all the faith and all the belief God still worked in their life don’t exempt yourself don’t throw yourself out because you may not have all the faith.

Matthew 8:5-10 (NKJV)

Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!
