Scripture in this part
Psalm 37:25 (NKJV)
I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.
— Psalm 37:25 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:54 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does Mrs. Gomez share?
Short answer: Thanks for years at the Vine, and how she shared Jesus with the kids at her new job over the holidays.
▶ 28:26 Is. Me. Okay. I just wanted to say. The vine. Thank you for allowing me to work here for so many years. Um. I didn’t realize how much I learned. From everyone you know and being under Pastor Kincer. Has been.
▶ 29:19 Awesome the stuff that he has. You know. Preach to us and given us uh and allowed me to be able to move on and use everything from from camping from school playing with the kids from cooking. You know and the word has just blessed my life in my new job and every time I like for new year’s and and Christmas I work in a youth care facility and we’re supposed to uh cook for the kids and it’s so funny because they’re young girls there so they don’t know how to cook they you know I I showed them how to put eggs in a foil pan in the oven and they were like wowed by that you know it’s just some funny things like that that happened there that um I’m really you know blessed to know these things and the different games I know how to play I can play with the boys and the card games and stuff that I did at you know the school and at camp belts.
▶ 30:28 So um. I wanted it safe for Christmas and thanksgiving you know it was very special I had to work first year and 30 something years that I had to work on the holidays which I was okay with and uh they finally gave me all new kids I I had a problem with these other kids that we had there they were very um out of hand but I got a whole bunch of new kids and they just happened to be muslims and they were from um. Ghana and you know hades and afghans and it was they were just a bunch of good kids and anyways we had Christmas I had Christmas with them and um it was funny because God came to me in the in the the night and and said well you know what are we going to do for these kids and I’m thinking I don’t have to do nothing they don’t celebrate Christmas and he goes yeah but you know should do something and my cottage was like the only cottage that didn’t have no nothing enough for Christmas so I thought okay well what can I do oh I have Christmas place I’ll take those with the napkins oh I have this runner I’ll take that I’m not using that oh I’m gonna take this and decorations and put this little thing up and I.
▶ 32:01 Did in the morning got it all together took it there the kids were still asleep I was able to decorate in there and I made them. You guys you know I know some of you are Christians right who’s a Christian here and one of the guys raised up to them I go well I’m a Christian too can I pray for the breakfast. And he said yes and so I was able to pray and then after I finished praying they were clapping and thanking me and I was like wow that’s amazing and I just felt.
▶ 32:53 It’s so awesome to be you know doing what God wants us to do and that’s sharing him with others after Christmas I had five days off and I went back and they still thanked me for one of the boys there was leaving topic and he told me miss I just I’m leaving tomorrow and I just wanted to say thank you for sharing Christmas with us and I was like son it was my pleasure I go I just pray you have a good life and you do what is right and and you know just be good and he says I will miss and so I just want to thank God for the opportunity to do these things and and giving me. You know. The goodness to want to do these things for these kids and I just and I know I got it from you guys I know I got it from outside the vine and um I’m grateful and I give God the honor and the glory.
▶ 33:53 And that’s it guys. Amen starts clapping effect. That’s excellent. Thank you for sharing that mrs Gomez that was awesome oh there’s Kristen I mean that’s wonderful oh miss Ambrose hey thank you I know you guys are doing great things over there too. It’s awesome God is good where’s sweetsie where’s me all right since Christina you’re there um go ahead and and you can share. Can you guys hear me yes Billy.
What do Blake and Christina share from Texas?
Short answer: Their move, plans for a church and school, community outreach, and seeking God’s guidance and provision.
▶ 34:50 Okay. Hi Billy. Yes I can I can hear you and see you perfect. Go she’s going to share and thank you everyone for joining. All right. Well I’m going to have pass it off to Blake. First so uh early last year we moved to texas and we moved to an area that you know I grew up in uh so I had a vision uh regarding where I wanted marie to to grow up and we definitely appreciate the season and the time at mountainside ministries we learned a lot we we grew a lot we grew stronger in the Lord due to the teaching the preaching and working with children. That was very beneficial to us once we moved out to texas uh we had to face battles uh one of the battle that the Lord got us through is the the kobit uh I got coveted that was one thing it was a mild case of it uh and but we got through that and then also the religious exemption I got a religious exemption that was approved.
▶ 36:02 Um so that was uh very very good for us in that regard I don’t I think a lot of people. I know the medical workers and also the the front line people when it comes to the the policemen and the doctors and so forth they’ve had they have to face it now the next wave is the private companies they’ll have to face it but there is hope to get through it we’re not against vaccination. In any way shape or form but we come from the standpoint that the government does not have the power to take away your god-given right to provide for your family. Um and that’s our stance on it so also I had a also I had the privilege to to uh preach in front of the church that we that we go to twice on two separate occasions um we’re involved with the youth uh so we’re we participate a lot in that regard and we’ve learned a lot from mountainside from the standpoint of having a stronger understanding of God’s word and sharing that with others and also the Lord has opened up a door to where uh we are in the process of building a church and a school.
▶ 37:15 Right now we’re working on the floor plans for a church a school to be built out and then we’re going to let the Lord take it where it is from that point. And we’ve already got that in the works so we have been very blessed this year. There’s a lot of the community outreach is very strong the community is very strong. And from my understanding they don’t have much knowledge on private Christian schooling they’re not equipped on how that works um. Church people that that go to church is strong but other than that uh there’s no other way to reach people so there’s a high demand for for Christian teaching for children.
▶ 38:19 And we have a heart and a desire for that but also teach and preach God God’s word as well and let the spirit run free. Awesome. Thank you Blake. Christina did you want to share as well I’m sorry I’m keeping this muted in case of any feedback so um if you don’t hear us you got jim he’s saying amen a lot. And miss woods and everybody so uh yeah. Go ahead yes we’re we’re under uh from our standpoint the the administration that we have in power uh it’s a it’s a wicked administration that it’s ungodly with what they’re doing uh they’re firing people that have been on the front lines and fighted covid the whole time and now they’re going to fire them if they don’t take a vaccination and they’re not looking at alternative ways to to fight covey 19.
▶ 39:17 They’re just telling you to get vaccinated get more and more medicine within you and they no government official can take away your god-given right to choose and your god-given right to provide for home uh and your god-given right to where you want to worship and down the road you go. Right. Hallelujah. Thank you Blake miss. Uh they’re they’re asking for marie is she there. He’s here yes. Yes we we enjoy seeing all the posts on facebook everyone’s. Faces and that’s a big encouragement for us. She got some some pain on her face.
▶ 40:15 She’s looking. All right Christina would you like to share. Uh. I mean it’s. What everything Blake just shared in about one to two minutes like. Oh my gosh it’s been God’s God’s been amazing and um. I mean when you’re going when you’re trying to figure things out it’s and you’re bringing things from the floor up basically the ground up building things.
▶ 41:11 Uh we’re just we’re asking for God’s guidance and for his provision and just we need everything from him because we can’t do it let’s put it that way we can’t do it on our own yeah so you know from our own testimony uh if you seek after the Lord trust and obey him and fear him he starts to open doors that you never even thought that that would be open. Yes so my testimony is. We’re alive and kicking. We’re still breathing. All right. How’s everyone doing out there.
What is Billy’s testimony?
Short answer: Reconnecting with the church family he has known since 1974, and returning to serve God after years away.
▶ 42:09 It’s good to see y’all. Well uh it’s great to be reconnected with the family that uh that I’ve known since 1974. It’s it’s uh crazy um. I’ve been sitting here of course I was starting to take Christmas down to my house and I tony needy uh. Were telling me about this so I was like yeah this would be awesome but uh you know I go down this journey of of you know where my where my relationship with God started and you know it started. 1974 on on first street and first in euclid um. I uh I was raised a catholic and I know I think I’d recognize a few bodies out there but most of you all know uh know me from a young man and I uh I served God I had a battle.
▶ 43:08 As some of you know that I I dealt with to serve the Lord um. But I fought that battle and and uh. Uh he was always faithful to me and he was always there with me through the through the toughest times of my life as a teenager uh um. You know trying to trying to serve God my parents were. Were not very uh to put it kindly I guess they were not very fond of me uh leaving the catholic church and going to the vine and but you know God always stood there with me and I and I fought the fight and and uh I always came through and but I as I grew up and left left la habra and joined the military and traveled around the world and served my country and got married had kids and straight.
▶ 44:00 Away a little bit came back straight away but you know God was always always jerking my neck back and he’s always been faithful and he’s always been there for me and I I always knew when when things got tough it was because I wasn’t serving him uh I’ve had an absence for a few years and I. I woke up one day and I just knew that my life. My life would never be right if I wasn’t serving God. And things would never be good and things would never be easy. Of course when we’re serving God it’s things can be tough. But when you’re not serving him they can definitely be so tough those days I just didn’t want to wake up.
▶ 44:58 And I woke up one day and I said you know. Christ has never abandoned us. And how can I do that to him. I reconnected with a family that’s loved me since. I was 10 years old. And I thank God that. That he’s brought Jodie Deeney back in my life and I uh it’s been hard because I’ve been trying to find a church and I’ve visited a few churches and I know I’m I’m looking for for what I was raised in uh um but I know that God’s gonna plant me eventually where I where he wants me but as long as I I stay faithful I read his word I I worship and you know I’m constantly talking to people that encourage me and and help me and guide me down the right path and I know all this will work out.
▶ 45:57 It’s uh it’s so exciting to be back in church and serving God and doing the right thing. And I’m excited to see you all thanks for letting me share. I’m in the washington dc area. Wow that’s great. Thank you for sharing Billy. Donna are you are you wanting to share as well. Well I just wanted to add to the things that were already spoken they are so rich everyone’s stories and everyone’s lives.
What does Donna share?
Short answer: Helping with the gospel mini videos, memories of outreach on Birch Street, and the resurrection being greater than a miracle.
▶ 46:51 All of us being a part of each other for so many years is. Makes it so rich. To hear from each other and so I even though Terry and I are kind of sick at home but we didn’t want to miss this for nothing. And um we’re glad we got to tune in. I wanted to share just uh uh. Just very quickly about the thing that I think this year that has been so amazing. At our little church. With a small number and yet there’s large numbers that we don’t see every day or every Sunday is the Revelation of God’s word. How God has been so faithful to our group to reveal his word in such an amazing way.
▶ 47:50 Um I’ve been fortunate to be on the end of helping with the little mini videos that we’re trying to get out there to um people reach them with the gospel message and I think going over those messages. Helps me. Helps it become bigger in my mind because I’m working on it more than a Sunday or more than reading my notes I have to get into it deeper and understand it and anyway if you think about some of those little messages we’ve been putting out and the messages we hear every Sunday. They are life-changing. And. When you think about the one that Jesus is God.
▶ 48:46 Back in the the vine when we went out on birch street I remember our balloons do you remember the balloons and dave said let’s put Jesus’s God on the balloons. And we went and passed passed out tracks and I just remember going I know this is true but this is going to confuse everybody. But but in the recent messages the clarity that comes. Um in that word has been so powerful to where you see how we must understand. That Jesus is God um in the messages about what Jesus didn’t say has been so. Revealing because there are things like cobwebs in our brain that we’ve heard all of our our life and then we go oh Jesus never said that it’s just something people say or something someone else in the Bible that somebody said it but Jesus didn’t say it.
▶ 49:56 All those um amazing. Little tidbits of truth we’ve been so blessed with and um. Obviously God has given our pastor a real. A real understanding of that word and we are blessed to receive it and hopefully we can digest it and give it out to others and that’s what I really wanted to say I so appreciate that word in our midst. Um I’m going to share lastly the little a little saying it’s from um tony perkins I’m borrowing it from him he said that. When Mary and Martha. Were so up you know very crying and upset because Lazarus has died had died and they said Lord if you had been here our brother had not would not have died.
▶ 50:53 They wanted a miracle. But God had something else in mind he wanted something greater and that was a resurrection. And that was. The most powerful thing that’s beyond those women’s minds or anyone else that they could fathom that God could do and that’s how it is as God brings us truth. He can do far beyond what our minds can imagine amen. Now thank you for letting me share today God has been so good to us and we just appreciate each one. All that you do. And we love you. Okay what I wanted to share is Blake you stir this up so you can blame me for bringing this up the Bible says in Isaiah 58 it says a lot but I want to center in on this.
What does Isaiah 58 call us to?
Short answer: Extend your soul to the hungry and be a restorer of the breach.
▶ 51:52 It says if you extend your soul to the hungry. And satisfy the afflicted soul then your light shall drop dawn in the darkness and your darkness shall be as a new day the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in drought and strengthen your bones you shall be like a water garden and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail and here’s the key thing I’m trying to get at those from among you shall build the old waste places you shall raise up the foundations of many generations and you shall be called the repair of the breach the restorer of streets to dwell in the Bible says in king James restore right paths to walk in and it says this is what you have to do if you turn your foot away from this if you turn away your foot from the Sabbath from doing your pleasure on my holy day and call the Sabbath of the light the holy day of the Lord honorable and you shall honor him not doing your own ways nor finding your old pleasure nor speak in your own words and then here’s the provision he will give you then you shall delight yourself in the Lord and I will cause you to ride on the high heels of the earth.
▶ 53:12 And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. And what I wanted to share was this God wants us to be the restorer of the things that the breach between ourselves and the church throughout this nation throughout all his creation. And what God has been saying to me locally is this we have to come together we have to break down the walls of tradition our own word Bible says not speaking your own words not doing your own thing and Blake and christine I encourage you in that that God has put you there for a reason and is to build the waste places to restore the right paths the path that leads back to God you have to keep that read it for yourself when you have time about Isaiah 58 because there’s a lot more in there besides just what I shared the key is this he’s called us to be those that repair things restore things and make things new the Bible says in acts in closing.
▶ 54:20 The people round about the disciples and the other believers said this to them especially in Antioch where they were called Christians because they were like Christ. They very simply were known as those that had spent time with Jesus. And the story of Mary Martha sums it up that that one was busy about much serving but the other one was what she was what she was she doing she was sitting at the feet of Jesus learning of him and Jesus said that shall never be taken away that’s all I have to say. Thank you thank you jim. All right I would like thank you those that are online in zoom and on facebook. I’ve moved the thing over here so I can talk to both zoom and facebook at the same time uh if there’s anybody else that wanted to share steph were you on the list I thought I thought there was a yes for you is there not a yes huh okay come on.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 58:10-14 (NKJV)
If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday. The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
— Isaiah 58:10-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 51:52 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Acts 11:26 (NKJV)
And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
— Acts 11:26 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 54:20 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is shared about the light of life?
Short answer: Share your testimony; Jesus is the light of the world, and those who ignore Him are lost in darkness.
▶ 55:36 I can’t decide which one I want to share. I’m thankful that we. Decided today to do something different we get in the habit of our routine but this is something unique and I’ve thought about it and I was thinking I was like you know when I really think about it. I don’t know a lot of the testimonies of some of our older people here how they came to Christ back in the day you know before I was born. And I think it’s something we can really encourage each other in because we all come from different backgrounds. And we when new people come you know they just see us as these perfect church people all prim and proper praising the Lord but we we’re not.
▶ 56:38 And when we share our testimonies. I’m just saying it because I want to encourage you guys to share your testimony too when you you first came to Christ because it’s like you were in a different time and even though you were in a different time and there were different um. Issues back then they’re still present today in the lives of the young people here they look different you know they’re dressed up in a different way but they are the same issues and the same struggles that people go through today. So instead of sharing my personal testimony from when I was a kid I I do want to speak this word that. I almost spoke earlier in the worship but I was distracted by zoom so. I’ll say it now.
▶ 57:34 The word of the Lord says that those in darkness have seen a great light and during Christmas we talk about how Jesus came into the world and it’s important to remember that Jesus said I am the light of the world and I am the way the truth and the life and there’s no other. Source. Of light besides Jesus and we’re talking about spiritual things not we’re not talking about you know electricity here we’re not talking about physical lights turning on or fires we’re talking about spiritual hope and light to the world. He says Jesus said whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but not sure if that was my phone uh but we’ll have the light of life.
▶ 58:28 The light of life that is um really profound. I think that growing up in church I was. In the light of life all the time but there was a time in my life when I decided to ignore it and so I had I was I was given a great gift. Growing up in church and being a part of a good Christian home but I also saw the other side and I remember. I didn’t really get it fully and that I was you know ignoring this light until I started this new job and um it was really exciting. It was really exciting for me because I uh had worked so hard to get to this point in my life in my career and I in a way I looked up to these people because I I just thought you know the best of them they had worked hard as well they were and in a way they were role models not spiritual role models but in my career they were role models and then I started to work with them.
▶ 59:42 At this new job and I realized that even though they had accomplished so many great things in their own field. They were so. Lost. They were in darkness they were ignoring that light they whether they had heard about Jesus or not they were choosing not to follow him. And um I didn’t I really it really slapped me in the face. And I realized that I was in that moment I was. If I had continued to see them as role models I would have followed them into darkness. And that’s a scary thought um. But Jesus the Bible also says that he called us out to be separate from this world even though we live in this world he called us to be separate.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 9:2 (NKJV)
The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.
— Isaiah 9:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 57:34 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 8:12 (NKJV)
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
— John 8:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 57:34 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What if God hasn’t freed you yet?
Short answer: Don’t give up—keep knocking and humble yourself; He promises rivers on barren heights.
▶ 1:00:44 And he called us. He he has the gift to break the chains that bind us there are things in this life that keep us down that keep us from. Overcoming that keep us from uh. Being free. From the bondages and sometimes is ja all in our head it’s not even anyone telling us it’s just on our head. And um it becomes a weighty thing it becomes weighty to try to live in this life without Jesus. But it says seek me Jesus he says and you will find me knock and the door will be opened unto you see people think God is out to get them or God doesn’t care or is or is locking them out but Jesus said when you come.
▶ 1:01:47 I will answer you but don’t give up you know sometimes we are so stubborn we try one we make one inch towards God and he doesn’t do anything miraculous and we’re like oh didn’t work never mind forget it no God says knock keep knocking and part of that is humbling yourself. It’s humbling to admit hey I tried it I tried doing this and I’m wrong that’s humbling that’s hard. Especially in the beginning. And you may think that you’ve had a difficult pass you may think that you’re damaged your bruise your faulted. And you can’t um you don’t like you don’t deserve Jesus in your life and that is a lie that is a lie.
▶ 1:02:43 Or you may think I’ve been going to church for years and he still hasn’t you know freed me of this. Don’t let that hold you back Jesus said knock and keep knocking this is what he says in Isaiah 41. This is a promise I will make rivers flow on barren heights barren means there’s nothing being produced there’s no fruit. But. And we can feel like that we can feel like nothing’s happening nothing’s changing I’ve been going to this church forever and I don’t feel changed God says. He will make rivers flow when you come to him and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert the dry ground into pools of water and the dry ground into springs of water water.
▶ 1:03:43 Rivers this is all referencing to his spirit and you don’t have to understand every single verse that talks about the spirit but know that Jesus has a promise for you to revive you to restore you. To renew you and bring you out of that darkness. The darkness and the waste places and the dry places. Are not meant for you. You are not meant to be in that place. And maybe you took yourself there. Maybe someone pushed you into that but Jesus is stronger than that he’s stronger than what happened. And he can bring you out of that he says springs of water abundance.
▶ 1:04:38 You don’t have to be dry anymore you don’t have to be. Struggling anymore Jesus is the redeemer the savior when we come to him when we come to him he renews us and everything that happened in the past is gone it’s written off it’s overriding. And you can have new living water in him. Thank you Jesus you are so good thank you Lord. Those are online we want to thank you again on zoom at this time you’re welcome to switch over to the facebook audio or whatever’s.

— Isaiah 41:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:02:43 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How are we equipped?
Short answer: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, so the man of God may be thoroughly equipped.
▶ 1:05:39 Better that you like but we’re going to end this morning with some just a minute a little time of prayer and asking God to bless us the church here the vine and uh our community uh where you guys are at you guys are in other states and other places but really what stephanie was just talking about we need that those pools of water to come up where the dry ground is as right now America is. Desensitized to Jesus Christ. We’re numb to God. And uh we need that water that spirit to come up in a dry area amen that is that’s good that’s powerful. And uh we are excited we have some plans this year to have some things for our community to come to and uh we’re excited we’re planning some things but we’re going to take some time to pray this morning and in second Timothy chapter 3 verse 17.
▶ 1:06:49 Or 16 it says all scripture is given by inspiration of God it’s profitable for doctrine for reproof protection instruction and righteousness. That the man of God may be complete. Perfect. Thoroughly equipped for every good work I encourage you um in conversations with people. That are in a depressed state or they’re they’re hurting they got problems going on their life the scriptures say that the script the scriptures say that. All scripture. Has been given by the inspiration of God is profitable for uh making you complete equipping you for the time that you’re in if you’re in a difficult time the scriptures is where is that the scriptures will bring that life that you need.
▶ 1:07:44 And for the plans that we have at this church we need him to equip us with his word amen we need that equipping in your state where you’re staying you need God to equip you and you’ve got to use God’s word to do that. Lastly it says in Psalms 133 as we stand where you’re at at home you can stand and join us this morning uh it says. Verse one be whole how good and how pleasant it is amen for brethren to dwell together in unity. If you remember the story of the tower of babel they were in unity they were going to build that build that tower and God said man I got to stop this because nothing there’s nothing going to stop them now when we’re united as brothers in Christ for Jesus Christ and the gospel and his purposes nothing’s going to stop us and the Devil knows if we start he can’t do anything about it he can’t stop the gospel he can’t stop truth there’s nothing he can do about it but he can try to divide us so this scripture is so powerful behold how good and how pleasant it is so would you stand and we’re going to sing this song in closing.
▶ 1:09:11 You’re my brother you’re my sister. When we’re walking side by side. As long as there is. Side by side.
