Ahab gathered 400 prophets who told him what he wanted to hear, while Micaiah alone said whatever the Lord says to me, that I will speak. A lying spirit led Ahab to his death. Today people heap up teachers for itching ears and call God’s word hate; the answer is to consume Christ and have His word written on our hearts.

How do we come into God’s house?

▶ Watch this part (0:14)

Short answer: Like the tabernacle pattern: gates, altar, laver, holy place; we are the temple and want the manna, His word, inside us.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 0:14 It’s important when we come into God’s house that we have some similarity to the uh house of the Lord is set up uh in Moses’s time uh they came into the gates through the door. Okay and uh the altar was there for burnt offering and the laver for washing and before they went into the holy place they put on the priestly garments and inside that holy place was the seven candlesticks with which are the seven spirits of God the altar of incense and prayer the table of showbread and then the other room had the holy of holies where the presence of God rest ed on the ark of the covenant and the ark of the covenant the has the same cubic.

▶ 1:07 Feet as you and me and God wants to rest as he has said many times on. You we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen and so we want to come in with a a direction to head where he is resting on us you don’t want to sit sit outside of God’s house and if we come into God’s house we should have that goal to have him rest on us and his word also was was sitting there you had the ark of the covenant with a copy of the scriptures we need that word that living word in. Us inside of the ark of the covenant there was also.

▶ 1:57 Mana the Aaron’s rod that budded and the tablets of stone and we’re going to learn more about that mana today we want to have that mana inside of the ark of the covenant inside of us you don’t want it outside you want it in you your word have I hidden in my heart that I have not sinned against God first Kings chapter 22:3 going to the story the history okay when when I talk about the Bible these are things that actually happened these are kings that actually reigned in Israel in Judah this is our his the history of the world Ahab was a king and he said to his servants ramoth and gilead is ours but we hesitate to take it from. Syria and he said to Jehoshaphat will you go with me to fight at rth.

What is the story?

▶ Watch this part (2:52)

Short answer: Israel and Judah unite; Jehoshaphat says I am as you are, and asks for counsel before war.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 2:52 Gilead and so Israel and Judah here are uniting it’s been a while since they were united because is that after Solomon they were divided in Rehoboam’s reign they were divided and u Jehoshaphat replied and said I am as you are and my people as your people so they joined up together and uh before Jehoshaphat would commit he said I want you to inquire of the Lord inquire for the word of the Lord what does God say about this plan this idea and Ahab gathered the prophets together about 400 men and said to them shall I go against Ramoth Gilead to fight or shall I.

▶ 3:45 Refrain so they said go up for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king and Proverbs 24 verse 6 it says for by wise counsel you will wage your own war so here they are waging a war here and he’s getting counsel from uh the prophets it says and it says in a multitude of counselors there is safety so these prophets were not really prophets they were 400 hired people to uh you know mouth exactly what Ahab wanted to hear okay I don’t know where you get people like that I don’t have the good example but they all just agreed with whatever uh Ahab wanted to. Do they were full of hot air they were not prophets they were enjoying the position and the funding and uh they were not real.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Kings 22:4 (NKJV)

So he said to Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to fight at Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”

Were the 400 serving another god?

▶ Watch this part (4:48)

Short answer: No; they claimed to speak for the Lord but were not wise counselors.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 4:48 Prophets and here they are they’re professing and saying that the what the Lord so they’re not they’re not uh saying it’s another God they’re not serving another God they are trying to speak for the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob right and they’re saying the Lord says this okay and it’s important to understand that because uh in our world we have a lot of religions but we also have uh christianity and all of us are saying a lot of things but is it. Truth okay that’s very important and in Proverbs 24:6 for wise coun who wage your own war and a multitude of counselors their safety here he had a multitude of 400 men that all agreed with him were they right no why because they weren’t.

▶ 5:42 What wise they were not wise and you got to remember that scripture you can’t just have a multitude of counselors agreeing with you you need a multitude of what wise. Counselors in Deuteronomy 18:21 says how shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken how how do we distinguish between uh you know this prophet says that prophet says how do we know what is true and he gives us the answer here when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord if the thing does not happen or come to pass that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken you shall not be afraid do not be afraid of that prophet do not fear his word do not you know don’t let it get.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Deuteronomy 18:21-22 (NKJV)

And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

How do we tell truth from fraud?

▶ Watch this part (6:39)

Short answer: The May 21, 2011 prediction, the Mayan 2012 movie, and Sam Bankman-Fried as examples of what is fake.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 6:39 You uh we have a picture here of a judgment day in on may 21st 2011 there was a uh there was a big thing that came out uh a guy on the radio said that he knew when judgment day would be he had the exact day and it started to uh share with the whole world about that day and he was as you know he was what. Wrong why because we’re still here or maybe it’s a simulation I’m joking no we’re still here amen and so uh it’s a good example do I believe that prophet no I’m not afraid of what he says because he already made his prediction and it what didn’t come true now a lot of people are talking about the end second coming and they’ve got dates out out you know 00 years so they’re going to be dead and gone before even comes so you know you got to take it with a grain of salt you got to there’s certain things you’re looking for before the end all right 2012 this is a movie about the Mayan calendar and they had their prediction of the end of the world so it’s not just Christians also we have scientist and other religions have very similar things so real or fake I have Sam Bankman-Fried here he was the CEO of FTX that uh basically he bamboozled

What did Jehoshaphat ask?

▶ Watch this part (8:10)

Short answer: Is there not still a prophet of the Lord here? Ahab hated Micaiah because he did not prophesy good.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 8:10 people out of money um and he was a fraud. So it’s important for us to realize what is truth what’s real and what is a fraud and what is a lie in 1 Kings chapter 22:7 Jehoshaphat said is there not still a prophet of the Lord here that we may inquire of him and so Jehoshaphat Jehoshaphat knew real quick. That this man these men were not prophets of who of the Lord he could he could see that and Ahab replied and said uh you know I’m really summarizing the Bible here u taking out a lot of things so you know it’s important for you to go and take this message this little paper you can look up these scriptures and you can study it later you can see if I’m all you know lying to you or not see if I’m.

▶ 9:10 Lying and uh get the message into you because we’re going to go through this message and you’re going to pick out certain things not remember anything uh but if you take it home and you just use it to look up these verses and review it and pray over it it’s it will really be powerful Ahab said my m. Mah uh is the prophet but I what I hate him he does not prophesy what. Good morning. Welcome he does not prophesy good concerning me but evil and so here I have a duck here you know you got you have a fake duck and you got the real duck and the real duck is looking at the fake duck like hey what what are you who were you uh right here we have a lady who is in Finland and she was a um a government official and she’s part of a church and she believes in the Bible and uh she.

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Kings 22:7-8 (NKJV)

And Jehoshaphat said, “Is there not still a prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of Him?” So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the LORD; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say such things!”

— 1 Kings 22:7-8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:10

Is God’s word labeled hate?

▶ Watch this part (10:16)

Short answer: People call God’s word intolerant, judgmental and hate speech, like the Finland lawsuit.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 10:16 Posted um tweeted a Bible verse in response to uh her church uh supporting an an event a certain event and uh she was sued for it. So that hatred is out there and I bring up Finland because it’s happening there you know could it happen here for sure you know it’s just a matter of who’s when the laws change right uh if the laws change in America in california you know they’re making all kinds of dumb laws you know if they change then uh that hate is going to affect us but you notice here that Ahab says I hate him and he does not prophesy good concerning me but evil so here Ahab is saying that what m Micah a is saying is evil now that’s like people calling God’s word intolerant we have that today right people will call God’s word intolerant judgmental and hate speech and thus they label his word as.

What about Zedekiah’s horns?

▶ Watch this part (11:26)

Short answer: A big theatrical lie; we need more than theatrics.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 11:26 Evil and Ahab is doing the same thing here twisting he’s twisting the truth and trying to label the word of the Lord as. Evil 1 Kings chapter 22:11 Zedekiah one of the 400 prophets he made horns of iron for himself and he said thus says the Lord with these you shall gore the Syrians until they are destroyed because that’s who they had to go down to routh gill iad to fight against and so he said he you know he made horns and you know he went down can you imagine this you he goes to the silver smith or whatever the blacksmith he said all right I need some horns made and I need you to go down and I need you to make them elaborate and I need and he gets these horns and he’s you know uh maybe he had some kind of thing I don’t know and he’s he’s with these horns and he gets down there and he’s waving his arms around and thus and h and it’s a bunch of theater.

▶ 12:31 Baloney it’s a big. Theatrical. Uh. Lie he didn’t hear from the Lord he’s not going to win against the syrians and we got to be careful with all the theatrics is it truth is it truth we got to be more than just theatrics. Amen all the prophets prophesied and they agreed these 400 men and they said to Micah a let your word be like the others and encourage the king.

1 Kings 22:11-12 (NKJV)

Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made horns of iron for himself; and he said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘With these you shall gore the Syrians until they are destroyed.’ ” And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper, for the LORD will deliver it into the king’s hand.”

What is the first solution?

▶ Watch this part (13:12)

Short answer: Whatever the Lord says to me, that I will speak, even if you’re one in 400.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 13:12 And here’s the first solution to all this mah says whatever the Lord says to me that I will speak and that’s very important it doesn’t matter if you’re the minority you’re one in 400 it doesn’t matter matter m is one or 400 here you know just because the majority all agrees on something doesn’t mean they’re right doesn’t mean it’s truth it’s that simple but he had an attitude of you’re not going to tell me what to say I’m going to say what God has put on my lips and that’s very important Romans 12:2 do not be conformed to this world but be transformed you see we’re not to conform to the world remember we’re trying to get people to rise to God’s level I can thank.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Where did the lying spirit come from?

▶ Watch this part (14:13)

Short answer: Micaiah saw the Lord on His throne; a spirit would be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets, because Ahab refused to turn.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 14:13 You and so they had this pressure on him to conform to the message of the day and he said no and it only took one right it only took one time for Ahab to hear truth ah uh mah he had his opportunity and he gave him the truth. Here to skip. That 1 Kings 22 verse 19 maayah said I saw the Lord sitting on his throne and said who will persuade Ahab to go up that he may fall at routh gilead so here we have the complete opposite the prophets prophesied yes you’ll have success but mah is giving the truth here and he’s saying that God is going to bring judgment on Ahab and God is allowed to bring judgment okay when he determines that you have crossed the line too many times which Ahab did he’s going to bring judgment on.

▶ 15:22 You who will persuade Ahab to go up and a spirit said I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets the Lord has declared disaster against. You Ahab refused to turn away from idolatry and sin and despite witnessing God’s power if you remember Ahab he was there when Elijah called what do you remember he called fire from heaven and consumed the altar with the burnt offering on it and he saw the fire come from heaven and he saw how the the priest of Baal did nothing could not bring anything from the God of Baal.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Kings 22:19-23 (NKJV)

Then Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by, on His right hand and on His left. And the LORD said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ The LORD said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the LORD said, ‘You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’ Therefore look! The LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the LORD has declared disaster against you.”

Is this happening today?

▶ Watch this part (16:16)

Short answer: They will heap up teachers to suit their desires; many false prophets will arise and the love of many grow cold.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 16:16 But Ahab witnessed this and despite witnessing it and despite seeing God’s power he still had Naboth killed an innocent man for his vineyard God has every right to judge 2 Timothy 4:3 for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but according to their own desires because they have itching ears they will heap up for themselves teachers and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fable. In second Timothy uh this is Paul writing to Timothy we have to be careful as Christians and this world has to be careful that we do not succumb to uh pushing out the truth because we have our own desires you see that’s that’s how you know real quick when you have your own desire and you don’t want to listen to the truth you know real quick that you’re doing what this scripture say.

▶ 17:30 Says you’re heaping for yourself your own teacher you see Ahab he hired his own prophets that would tell him what he wanted to hear that’s happening today they will turn their ears away from the truth that is happening today in california and throughout the world people are turning their ears away from truth let me find the person that I have given a good review to because I am the one that I am the customer. That’s that’s one of the problems we have in our church in the church world today right we treat the church like it’s a business and it should be given a five-star or fourstar review and based off of that that is uh what we want produced that’s the kind of church we want produced and that’s the wrong way of looking at this that’s the wrong way of looking at God’s house you want to find a place where God’s truth is spoken.

▶ 18:30 Matthew 24:1 many false prophets will rise and deceive many and because of law because lawlessness will abound the love of many will grow cold false prophets will arise that’s what’s happening in Ahab’s time false prophets are uh arising and they’re agreeing with this. Untruth and we have lawlessness in our time amen and it’s just going to keep a uh be more abundant so when you see that happen we want to fight against it yes uh but you know let’s not be discouraged like you know God doesn’t have any solutions there’s there’s. Solutions we’ve got to hang on to truth he who endures to the end will be saved and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations and the end will come in spite of all this lawlessness in spite of false prophets God is still going to get this message this gospel preached to the whole world and not just preached it’s going to be preached as a what as a what a witness.

▶ 19:41 The apostles they preached as a witness they preached and they taught and they had the power of God they have demonstration of the power of God along with their preaching and then the what end will come so until that happens you know don’t be shaking in your shoes like the end is coming okay the gospel must be preached as a witness to all. Nations in 2 Chronicles 7:14 we know this scripture so well it’s a well-known scripture it says if my people will humble themselves and pray seek my face turn from their wicked ways I will hear from heaven will forgive their sin and heal their land so Ahab he wanted the healing without turning from wickedness and in America we want the same thing we want the healing of our nation without turning from our wickedness and our wicked ways and it’s not just you know the whole nation we’re talking about God’s.

What did Micaiah see?

▶ Watch this part (20:55)

Short answer: Israel scattered as sheep without a shepherd; Jesus was moved with compassion and taught.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 20:55 People God’s people are refusing to turn from wicked ways and some of the posts I I you know didn’t want to show I have kids here uh express that that’s happening in our church in America today and we’ve got we can’t. Expect God to do all these things when he has to address the wickedness as. Well Ahab did not turn from. Wickedness in 1 Kings 22:17. Uh Micah I’m just going to say Micah because his name is frustrating to say he said I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains as sheep that have no shepherd and the Lord said they have no these have no master let each return to his house in the New Testament Jesus uh had a multitude that came out to the deserted place and Christ was moved with compassion for them and he said these were like what sheep not having a shepherd and if you think about this story about.

▶ 22:11 Ahab in the Old Testament and Naboth and his vineyard and the story of Jehoshaphat and the king of Syria it is an example of Jesus Christ the Pharisees Jesus Christ uh was just like Naboth Naboth was innocent and he was killed Jesus Christ was innocent and he was. Killed they brought uh if you remember nebo’s vineyard they brought uh witnesses against him and their they couldn’t keep their story straight they did the same thing to Jesus. Christ and when when Ahab wanted to go and and get this land it it’s very similar to the Pharisees and the Sadducees and the high priest they wanted to redeem Israel they wanted to get their country back they wanted their kingdom.

▶ 23:11 Back but in 70 ad the temple was destroyed just like Ahab was brought to. Destruction so Jesus said here he came out he saw a great multitude was moved with compassion they like sheep not having a shepherd so he began to what teach he began to what teach. Them and it’s important for us as Christians to come out to Jesus Christ to hear his word what does he have to say what is his teaching not what teaching do I want to hear as we read in previous scriptures you know I’m going fast to this and I encourage you you know to get the lesson uh study these scriptures they’re.

What happened to Ahab?

▶ Watch this part (24:16)

Short answer: He listened to the lying spirit, a random arrow struck him, but Elijah shows there is hope.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 24:16 Powerful Ahab he died in battle he listened to the lying spirit and he went down to Ramoth Gilead and fought against Syria and they lost and Ahab was killed if you remember uh somebody drew a bow at random and shot it into the air and it struck Ahab because Ahab was. Disguised it struck. Ahab in Luke 21:20 when you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies you’ll know its desolation is near then let those who are in Judah flee to the mountains it’s talking about um Jesus here is talking about the destruction of the temple that happened in 70 ad so I’m just you know I’m tying that all together you can read about it later first Kings 18:22 Elijah said to the people I alone am left a profit of the Lord but Baal’s prophets are 450 men so here we have the same thing we have 450 prophets they’re all saying the same thing they’re all telling lies and Elijah is standing before the people he saying hey I got the real deal I’m the real deal and God is going to answer by fire and in verse 39 when all the people saw the fire they fell on their faces they said the Lord he is what God the Lord he is what God and so Elijah addressed whoever the liars were he addressed the people lying.

▶ 25:46 And he addressed the prophets of Baal with. Truth he did it during Ahab and Jezebel’s reign and he convinced the people that day that the Lord was God so is there hope of course there’s always hope and the we we want that demonstration of power with the truth amen and we need that as was uh uh said during our worship time we want that demonstration of power the power of God moving in us mark chapter 6:41 when he had taken the five loaves and two fish so here Jesus is and he he looks out to that these people this multitude and he’s saying uh they’re like sheep without a shepherd right and this is the time where he fed 5,000 when he had taken the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven he blessed and he broke the loaves and he gave them to his disciples and the two fish he divided among them all and it says they all ate and were what.

What should we be full of?

▶ Watch this part (26:53)

Short answer: His Spirit and word; unless you eat His flesh and drink His blood you have no life. Don’t keep Him at a distance.

Has we can’t get up here on the pole pulit and say oh you know Jesus died for my sin and now u he approves of of everything wrong and uh all these wrong lies and messages in the world what are we full.

▶ 27:53 Of John 6:53 Jesus said to them I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood you have no life in you whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has what eternal life how many want eternal life amen I will raise him up in the last day my flesh is food indeed and my blood is drink indeed he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him and so are we going around today and saying oh where is is Jesus what’s his address and how can I eat his body and go up to him. And how can I suck his blood like a vampire is that what it’s talking about no are we consuming Jesus.

▶ 28:45 Christ all right we have a choice in our lives are we just going to believe in him and keep him at a distance are we going to say oh look at that bread over there it looks good bye. I believe in that bread I believe it’s good and it is good but you have to go what you got to go up to it and you’ve got to take a bite out of it you got to consume and put God’s word into you you got to come before his house and you got to come before him and take him up on what he has to. Offer he wants to give you a new heart he wants to put his spirit into you you got to consume. Him your word have I hidden in my heart that I have not that I would not sin against you and you’re hiding his word in your heart.

What is the solution to the lying spirit?

▶ Watch this part (29:39)

Short answer: The new covenant promise of a new heart, the Spirit, and His word written on our hearts; He is the way and the truth.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer), likely Michael Silla

▶ 29:39 See this is the promise of the new covenant I will put I will I will give you a new heart I will put my spirit into you I will write my word on your heart it’s a promise. What’s the solution to this lying spirit in throughout the world in America you guys heard any lies. Lately. Yeah so many. Lies you guys hear any truth. Lately you can see you can consume you can have that truth every day when you take time to come for. Christ you take time to put his word into you when you take time to let him make it.

▶ 30:38 Alive he is not. Dead Christ is risen and he’s on the throne sitting at the right hand of the father as Stephen remember he saw him he’s sitting at the right hand of the father and he’s sending his angels to minister to his people. And he’ll make his word alive to you and to me but we’ve got to take time to stop believing in the bread over there on the bench and we got to go up to it and partake of it very important when you go home when you go to church when in your daily life you’ve got to partake and consume Jesus Christ. He has truth that transforms and he has life Jesus said what I am the way.

▶ 1:10:51 Times Peter was always putting his foot in his mouth. But after this experience with the Holy Spirit he was. Transformed and when he got up to preach after he was filled that spirit of God spoke through him and his mouth was no longer something to put his foot in it was something to open wide and let the word of God this the living word flow out of him that’s what this song is saying to change us we may have used to have a mouth a certain way speaking certain things but God changes. Us Lord God we pray for that this morning Jesus spirit of the living.

▶ 1:11:47 God we ofer your presence here. Spirit of the living. God we air your power here to. Rest on us and to. Empower. Us to. Work to us and to. Reveal in us Jesus the king at this time if God has put something on your heart the Holy.

Od father let us have that authority in the church again that believers may come and say what must we do to be saved what must we do we want what you have because when the world is crumbling and all the lies come to the light they will know that the only truth is founding.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: The recording places the message first and the worship set after it (~45:41). He said “Matthew 24:1” for the false-prophets verse (24:11); left as said. He shortens Micaiah to “Micah” on purpose. Select any time to jump to that moment on YouTube.
