Leviathan and Lucifer: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
In this message, Pastor David G. Kincer teaches that Leviathan in Isaiah 27 and Job 41 pictures Satan, “king over all the children of pride,” and that Jesus destroyed his power over believers. He then teaches on Lucifer in Isaiah 14, the stars of God, angels and the destroyer, and the believer’s authority, ending with the saints taking the kingdom and Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
What is Leviathan, and can anyone overcome him? (Isaiah 27:1, Job 41:1–10)
Short answer: He says Leviathan is a serpent: in Isaiah 27:1 the Lord “will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,” “the twisted serpent.” Turning to Job 41, he says “any hope of overcoming Leviathan is false” and “man cannot defeat this snake.” He says God hides mysteries by switching between the natural and the spiritual, and “only the Holy Ghost can reveal them to you.”
▶ 0:00 We’re going to ask ourselves, what is Leviathan? Okay, and we, of course, will go to the Bible to find out what Leviathan is. Uh, they made a movie about it, and this has nothing to do with that movie. Isaiah 27, verse 1: “In that day,” now remember that “day” is mentioned over and over and over and over in Isaiah, speaking of the future events of God. “In that day the Lord,” the Lord is Jesus Christ, “with his severe sword, great and strong, will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent.” So Leviathan is a serpent. Okay. “Leviathan the twisted serpent.” Again, Leviathan is a serpent, “and he will slay the reptile that is in the sea.” So we got a bunch of snakes being talked about here, and, uh, we find that Leviathan is a serpent, okay, a snake.
▶ 1:26 Then we’re going to go to Job 41, where God himself, talking to Job, gives us great details about Leviathan, thorough details. Job 41: “Any hope of overcoming Leviathan is false.” That’s a false hope. Man cannot defeat this snake. “One shall be overwhelmed at the very sight of him.” He’s just going to be terrorized just by looking at this snake. “No one’s so fierce that he would dare stir up Leviathan.” No human being got enough courage, enough military strength, the warrior, to overcome and stir up Leviathan. And then God switches. Now remember, Isaiah would be talking about a nation or an Israel, and then he would switch to the future. Okay, and this is how God hid his mysteries in the Bible, and only the Holy Ghost can reveal them to you. You can’t go to college and get this stuff, it’s not an intellectual thing, it is a spiritual thing. All right.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 27:1 (NKJV)
In that day the LORD with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in the sea.
— Isaiah 27:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:19Job 41:1-10 (NKJV)
“Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower? Can you put a reed through his nose, Or pierce his jaw with a hook? Will he make many supplications to you? Will he speak softly to you? Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him as a servant forever? Will you play with him as with a bird, Or will you leash him for your maidens? Will your companions make a banquet of him? Will they apportion him among the merchants? Can you fill his skin with harpoons, Or his head with fishing spears? Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle— Never do it again! Indeed, any hope of overcoming him is false; Shall one not be overwhelmed at the sight of him? No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up. Who then is able to stand against Me?
— Job 41:1-10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:43Why does God use Leviathan to ask who can stand against him? (Job 41:10–29)
Short answer: He says God uses this “overwhelming snake” to ask “who then is able to stand against me?”, because Job “was righteous until he blamed God for his problems.” He describes Leviathan’s fire, breath and scales and the failure of swords, spears and arrows, saying “nothing can touch this guy.”
▶ 2:54 So God uses this overwhelming snake to turn it around and say, “Who then is able to stand against me?” Because that’s what Job had done. He had blamed God. Job was righteous until he blamed God for his problems. He accused God. And so, “Who then is able to stand against me?” If you can’t, you guys can’t conquer this snake, then who has the guts to stand up against me? Amen. So it’s, it’s a good illustration, and remember, Jesus said, “I speak to you of earthly things so you can understand heavenly things.” All right, now he goes on, verse 19: “Out of Leviathan’s mouth go burning lights, sparks of fire shoot out, smoke goes out of his nose as from a boiling pot and a burning bush.”
▶ 4:00 It rushes. The Bible says that he caused the depths of the sea to boil when he opened his mouth with fire. His breath kindles coals, a flame goes out of his mouth. Verse 26: “Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail.” Can’t pierce this snake. “Nor does a spear, a dart, a javelin,” and back in verse 7, even, I passed over it because I wanted to stay on the topic back there, the harpoon, the javelin, the dart, the spear cannot pierce his skin. His scales are so tight and so hard, nothing can touch this guy. “He regards iron as straw.” You know, you throw a war axe at him and it just breaks like a straw. “Bronze is rotten wood.” The arrow cannot make him flee. So he has used up the weapons of a man. A man’s weapons cannot hurt this reptile, this serpent. “Slingstones become like stubble to him.” They sling them at him and they just break like a clod of dirt. “Darts are regarded as straw.” They throw a spear at him, just like throwing a piece of straw. That’s how vicious this animal was, this snake.
Scripture in this part
Job 41:10 (NKJV)
No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up. Who then is able to stand against Me?
— Job 41:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:03Job 41:19-21 (NKJV)
Out of his mouth go burning lights; Sparks of fire shoot out. Smoke goes out of his nostrils, As from a boiling pot and burning rushes. His breath kindles coals, And a flame goes out of his mouth.
— Job 41:19-21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:45Job 41:26-29 (NKJV)
Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail; Nor does spear, dart, or javelin. He regards iron as straw, And bronze as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee; Slingstones become like stubble to him. Darts are regarded as straw; He laughs at the threat of javelins.
— Job 41:26-29 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:26Is Leviathan a real creature, and who is king over the children of pride? (Job 41:33–34)
Short answer: He says Leviathan, talked about “five times in the Old Testament,” is “the natural snake that can breathe out fire,” and tells hearers not to believe “versions of the Bible that say it’s a crocodile.” He says the “switch” comes at the end of Job 41, where this snake is “king over all the children of pride,” illustrating that “nobody can stand against him.”
▶ 6:05 That Isaiah said God would destroy in that day. What day, and what would God do? Destroy him. Okay. “He laughs at the threat of javelins.” Now, you got to remember, all water animals survived the flood. You say, “Well, we know dinosaurs got wiped out back there.” Well, any monster in the sea would be fine. So get away from that. God does know what he’s talking about, all right. Now, natural scientists don’t believe that, but God is literally talking about, and Leviathan’s talked about five times in the Old Testament, five times, and God is using the natural snake that can breathe out fire, nothing can oppose him, to illustrate. And don’t believe these, these, um, versions of the Bible that say it’s a crocodile or something. Just accept it the way God said it, okay? And that’s the way he’s saying it, and it’s important that you do, because the spiritual truth lines up with this, all right.
▶ 7:37 Verse 33: “On earth there is nothing like him, which is made without fear.” This snake fears nothing. “He beholds every high thing,” and here comes the switch from the natural snake. “He is king over all the children of pride.” He is king over all. Now here’s the switch. Now he’s switching. This snake cannot be king over humans at all, can it? They can’t rule them, can’t have any effect on them. And so he’s using this terrible creature to illustrate how people cannot stand before God, and like it was said this morning, nothing is impossible with God. He will save, he will deliver, he will, nothing can stop him. Okay, he is a Savior, he is a Deliverer, he is a Healer, and nobody has authority to stand against God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Is that an amen? Yeah. So he’s using this bad snake to illustrate how powerful Jesus Christ is, okay, that nobody can stand against him. And then he’s using this snake to illustrate that there is a king over, in the spirit world, over all the children of pride. Now, the word “pride” there in the Hebrew has a two-fold meaning. It is a pride of lion cubs, a family of lions.
Scripture in this part
Job 41:33 (NKJV)
On earth there is nothing like him, Which is made without fear.
— Job 41:33 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:37Job 41:34 (NKJV)
He beholds every high thing; He is king over all the children of pride.”
— Job 41:34 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 8:03What does pride have to do with Satan as a lion? (1 Peter 5:8, Proverbs 16:18)
Short answer: He says pride has a “two-fold meaning,” “a pride of lion cubs” and being proud, and that Satan is a “lion king” who “has a pride,” children and offspring. He cites 1 Peter 5:8, “your adversary the Devil is as a roaring lion,” and says “understanding Leviathan helps us understand Satan” and that “people are so proud they won’t bow their need to God.”
▶ 9:30 And it also is being proud. You see, people are so proud, they won’t admit their sins and God forgive them and deliver them, they won’t admit it. People are so proud they won’t bow their need to God. I mean, what do they think they’re going to do in heaven? The angels and the elders are all kneeling, and a number that can’t be numbered are kneeling, and you’re going to stand there and say, “Huh, no”? Now it’s pride. Pride comes before a fall. Yes. And so he is over this king that he’s talking about, and illustrating by the snake, is over, he is ruling over the children of pride, being proud, and the offspring of the lion. This next side says Satan is a lion. King, he is a lion king, he has a pride, he has children and offspring, and he is a king of a certain area.
▶ 10:34 It says in 1 Peter 5:8 that we’re to be sober and vigilant, because “your adversary the Devil is as a roaring lion, walking about seeking whom he may devour,” may destroy. Okay. The New Testament is the revelation, the amplification that opens up the truths of God in the Old Testament, and the Old Testament expands those truths because they were there before, but the New Testament opens up the door so we can expand these truths. You got it? So understanding Leviathan helps us understand Satan, all right. He is a lion king over the proud, the pride. John 12:31: “Now shall the prince of this world be cast out.” Who is he talking about? Satan. So he is a king, he is a ruler, okay, and he’s a ruler over this world.
Scripture in this part
Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV)
Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.
— Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:57 (quoted; reference not named in the message)1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
— 1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:35Who are Satan’s children? (John 12:31, Ephesians 2:2, Matthew 13:38, Psalm 10:4, John 3:19–20)
Short answer: Citing John 12:31, Ephesians 2:2 and Matthew 13:38, he says Satan is “a ruler over this world” with children, and “we know them because they disobey the word of God.” He says those who “reject Christ and reject the word” are “our biggest opposition,” that they do not admit their wrong, and that people who accept “a Jesus that does not reveal their sins” have “the wrong Jesus.”
▶ 11:51 Now, Satan has children of pride, a lion’s cubs, he has a family, he has children. Ephesians 2:2: “The prince and power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience.” So Satan is a king of the air, this earth, and he has children, and we know them because they disobey the word of God. Okay, they’re under the control of Satan, they follow Satan’s rules. Got it? All right, Matthew 13:38: “The tares are the children of the wicked one. The enemy that sowed them is the Devil.” See, he has an offspring, and those offspring of his, those children that reject Christ and reject the word, are our biggest opposition in this earth. They oppose us constantly. Psalm, uh, 10:4: “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God.”
▶ 13:09 So, see, these are children of the wicked one, and they’re wicked because of their pride. They will not admit their wrong, that’s pride. They will not ask Jesus to forgive them of their sins and come into their life and make them a light to the world. See, they want to sin. The reason atheists don’t want to believe there’s a God is they want to sin. I mean, I would tell my atheist brother that, you know, yeah, it’s, you just want to do what you want to do, because when you come to Christ, he will reveal your sins. That’s what John chapter 3 says, isn’t that right? That their sins might be made known. They come to Christ, they won’t come to Christ lest their sins be made known. And that’s why people, and people that accept a Jesus that does not reveal their sins have the wrong Jesus. Now that was a good statement. You know, there, there, there are people out there that believe in Jesus, but their description of Jesus and definition of Jesus is not the definition of Jesus in the Bible. And you got to, you see, you got to find the source of things. You know, a lot of people out there say, “I believe in Jesus.” What Jesus do you believe in? Hallelujah.
Scripture in this part
John 12:31 (NKJV)
Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
— John 12:31 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:51Ephesians 2:2 (NKJV)
in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,
— Ephesians 2:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:00Matthew 13:38 (NKJV)
The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
— Matthew 13:38 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:34Psalm 10:4 (NKJV)
The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.
— Psalm 10:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:01John 3:19-20 (NKJV)
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
— John 3:19-20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:54Did Jesus destroy Satan’s power over believers? (Hebrews 2:14, Romans 16:20)
Short answer: He says Jesus “destroyed Satan” on the cross: reading Hebrews 2:14, he says Christ “reduced him to zero, neutral, over anyone that will believe in Christ.” He says learning this “revolutionized my life,” that Satan “has no jurisdiction over me” and “all he can do is ask me to do something bad,” and citing Romans 16:20 he says “I need him under my feet now.”
▶ 14:47 And so we see then that the Devil is Leviathan, and in that day Jesus is going to destroy his power. Okay, and destroy him. We’ve got to understand that he’s already done that. When he came, Jesus destroyed Satan, and so does his people. It’s very plain, and when people get up and say that “Satan’s followed me” and “Satan did this to me,” they don’t understand the power of Christ in your life, the atonement, the deliverance that Jesus did on that cross. Okay, Hebrews 2:14: “Through death He destroyed him that had the power of death, that is, the Devil.” So when Christ died on the cross, he destroyed the power of Satan, reduced him to zero, neutral, over anyone that will believe in Christ. Yes, yes. Hallelujah.
▶ 16:04 Now, when I was a boy, you grew up in church, Satan was in control. You know, “Satan made me do this, Satan made me do that, Satan, Satan, Satan, Satan.” I learned that Satan was destroyed, it revolutionized my life. Instead of looking to Satan, I started looking to the author and finisher of my faith. “He that began a good work in me will” what? Finish it. Hallelujah. And Satan has no jurisdiction over me. None. Period. Are you there? All he can do is ask me to do something bad. He can have no power over me to make me do it. Got it? He can just suggest. Romans 16:20: “The God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet.” At the rapture? No, I don’t need him under my feet at the rapture, I need him under my feet now. And he said he would do it, what? Quickly. And so God’s people have authority over Satan in the kingdom of darkness. And as I was teaching in the home Bible study, fasting and prayer is what raises that level of authority. When you come in contact with the kingdom of darkness and demons and so forth, you have authority to control the situation. And if you go to third world countries or you go into these neighborhoods where they are really, you know, down in darkness, you better have some authority. Your little head knowledge isn’t going to work there.
Scripture in this part
Hebrews 2:14 (NKJV)
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
— Hebrews 2:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 15:36Romans 16:20 (NKJV)
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
— Romans 16:20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 16:59Can a Christian be demon-possessed? Is Satan an angel of light? (2 Corinthians 11:14)
Short answer: He says the strong man of the house is Jesus, who “can’t be bound,” so “Christians can’t be demon-possessed” because “Jesus lives in us.” He says “much of the church world don’t understand this and they’re in bondage.” Reading that Satan “masquerades as an angel of light,” he says Satan imitates, while Jesus said “I am the light of the world.”
▶ 17:59 Are you with me? Yes. Yeah, hallelujah, church. Do you understand this? Yes. Do you realize the strong man of our house is Jesus, and Jesus said that the strong man of the house can’t be bound, and so Christians can’t be demon-possessed. They can’t overpower Jesus who lives in us. See, we get that Spirit of God when we get saved, it’s different than the baptism of the Holy Ghost, but it’s still the same Spirit, and we have authority, and Jesus lives in us, and Satan cannot come in and control us. Amen. True. Now, much of the church world don’t understand this, and they’re in bondage, you know, it’s horrible.
▶ 18:56 Now, 1 Corinthians 11:14: “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” Okay, he masquerades as an angel of light, he imitates. All right, he’s not an angel of light. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world,” and then Jesus turned and said, “You’re the light of the world.” See, we’re not imitators, unless we are saying we’re serving God and we’re really serving the Devil, then we become imitators. You see, masquerade, we’re wearing a masquerade. Now, Satan, the Bible says here, disguises himself as light, all right. And remember this, because we’re going to be talking about Lucifer here in a minute, and light is truth and right. He disguises himself as light to those who are deceived by him, and they become his children and his slaves, and Jesus came to deliver us from the slave master, Satan, to sin, and set us free and put us under the slavery of Jesus Christ. And why is it important that we be slaves? Because the slave master will protect his property. He won’t let anybody touch his investment. So being a slave of Jesus is good.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 12:29 (NKJV)
Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
— Matthew 12:29 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:102 Corinthians 11:14 (NKJV)
And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
— 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:00John 8:12 (NKJV)
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
— John 8:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:18 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why does he say it is good to be Jesus’ slave? (and do angels have wings?)
Short answer: He says a slave answers “Yes, Master” and “he protects his property,” and that “there’s a difference between Jesus the Savior and Jesus the Lord.” In a short aside he says “angels do not have wings” and that “tradition is more powerful than scripture.”
▶ 20:37 Hallelujah. That means we obey him. “Yes, Master, you want me to pray? Yes, Master. You want me to tithe? Yes, Master.” You see, until you have made Jesus Lord of your life, you don’t do a lot of simple things. Yeah, there’s a difference between Jesus the Savior and Jesus the Lord. You know, you can use a lot of excuses when Jesus isn’t your Lord, but when Jesus is your Lord, you’ll just say, “Yes, sir. Yes, Master. Whatever you want.” Amen. Hallelujah. And then he protects his property. Yeah, he fights for you. Now you see over here this picture, and I couldn’t find a picture without wings, I swear, everybody’s hung up on wings. Angels do not have wings, Martha, do you understand that? Yes. Christmas, we had wings. Tradition is more powerful than scripture. I’m surprised they don’t have Jesus with wings. Anyway, Satan is cast out here.
Who is Lucifer? (Isaiah 14:12–14, Colossians 1:16)
Short answer: He says Isaiah 14 is about the king of Babylon until verse 12, where “he does a big switch” to “how you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,” which he says means “the shining one.” He says Jesus created all things, “so he created Lucifer,” and that Satan weakens nations “by getting them to sin.” On “I will be like the Most High,” he says “when we make our own rules, we are saying we’re God.” He says sin begins in the mind: “the heart’s the head, the mind.”
▶ 21:49 And in Isaiah 14:12, we’re going to be talking about Lucifer, all right. Now, in Isaiah 14 he’s talking about the kingdom of Babylon. He talks, and he talks, and he talks, and he talks, and then he comes to verse 12 and he does a big switch on everybody. He just totally does a switch and comes up with this statement: “Oh, how you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer.” Lucifer means the shining one, the light. Okay, some people have “the morning star.” I can’t accept that, because who is the morning star? Absolutely, it’s over and over in the Bible, he’s the morning star. But he’s “son of the morning,” okay, he’s an offspring of the morning, who created all things. Who did? Jesus. He created all things with the Father. So he created Lucifer, he’s the offspring. “You are fallen from heaven. You have weakened the nations.” You who weaken the nations. How does Satan weaken the nations? By getting them to sin, by getting them to reject God through his who? Children. He doesn’t appear, he just gets the people that are in his kingdom to weaken the nation through sin.
▶ 23:23 Verse 13: “You have said in your heart.” Now, when we did these motions to that song, we put our hand over our heart where it said heart. Where should we have put our hand? The heart’s the head, the mind. All right. Hallelujah. “You have said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven.” Isn’t that where we began, our wrong? It doesn’t begin down here, it begins where? Right here. “Well, I think I’ll, uh, go steal Mr. Barnes’s Jeep.” It doesn’t begin down here. “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.” Exalt above what? The stars of God. So we got to understand what the stars of God are, and it’s not these lights up in heaven, all right. “I will be like the Most High.” Duh. Here he is. “I will be” what? Like the Most High. How did Satan trick Eve? “If you eat of this fruit, you will be like God.” See, when we make our own rules, we are saying we’re God. Yes.
Scripture in this part
Isaiah 14:12 (NKJV)
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!
— Isaiah 14:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 21:50Isaiah 14:13-14 (NKJV)
For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’
— Isaiah 14:13-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 23:23Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
— Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 22:39 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Genesis 3:5 (NKJV)
For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
— Genesis 3:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:43 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What are the “stars of God” and the “mount of the congregation”? (Revelation 1:20, Psalm 48:2)
Short answer: He says “the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches” and that the “mount of the congregation on the sides of the north” is Mount Zion, which in Psalm 48:2 he ties to “the church.” He says the foursquare city is “the bride of Christ,” and “we don’t need gold in heaven, we got Jesus.”
▶ 25:05 “I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north.” Now, you already know what that is, because we’ve talked about it before, but we’ll bring it out again. So he wants to say he wants to rule over the stars, and he wants to rule over the congregation on the sides of the north. Revelation 1:20: “The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches.” Hallelujah. Psalm 48:2: “The joy of the whole earth is Mount Zion.” Who’s the joy of the whole earth? Mount Zion. And that’s not a mountain over there in Jerusalem, a mountain can’t be the joy of the whole earth. Now, who is Mount Zion? The church. “On the sides of the north, the city of the great King.” What did John see coming out of heaven? The foursquare city. It was called the New Jerusalem, the city of God, the bride of Christ. You see, that’s us. And people that are really intellectual in God’s word literally think of four-square buildings coming out of the sky.
▶ 26:42 God uses natural things to what? Illustrate spirits, and he tells us while he’s doing it what he’s doing. Now, how many rather see the church coming out of heaven triumphantly with Jesus Christ? Yes. And some four-square city with streets of gold? Baloney. We don’t need gold in heaven, we got Jesus. Hallelujah. So the city of the great King is the mount of the congregation on the sides of the north, so Satan wants to rule over the people that God formed for himself. Okay, Isaiah 14:15: “Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit.” Sheol is, uh, the abiding place of the dead, and Satan’s going to be brought down to the lowest depths of the pit. Say, “Pit.” Pit. Yeah. Revelation 20:2: “The angel laid hold on the dragon.” Okay, and what was the dragon back in Isaiah? Leviathan, “that old serpent,” who is the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

— Revelation 21:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 26:18Is it all the same Satan? (Isaiah 14:15, Revelation 20:2, Revelation 9:11)
Short answer: He says Leviathan, “that old serpent,” the serpent in Eden, the tempter of Jesus and the accuser in Job are “all the same person.” He says Satan is a spirit and “he doesn’t have horns and he doesn’t have scales,” that the king over the bottomless pit is “a destroyer,” and that Isaiah 14:15 sends him down “to the lowest depths of the pit.”
▶ 28:01 Satan had deceived Eve, the Devil who came and tested Jesus. You see Satan, who stood before God in heaven and accused God that if God would let bad things happen to Job, Job would curse him and deny him. You see, it’s all the same person, and he’s a spirit. He doesn’t have horns and he doesn’t have scales, he is a spirit, all right. God uses these illustrations so we can understand it. “And cast him into the” what? Bottomless pit. Isn’t that what we read back there? The deepest pit, “to deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished.” So Jesus destroyed Satan on the cross, and he’s going to destroy Satan in that day before he comes. Remember, he said there’s going to be a time of no war, the lion will eat straw, kids will play on the viper’s nest.
▶ 29:23 Revelation 9:11. He talks about locusts coming out of the pit with scorpion tails. They come from the bottomless pit, and they had a king over them. Now, doesn’t it, isn’t it easy to understand now? Okay, there’s a king over the bottomless pit. Who is he? Satan. Yeah, all right, “which is the angel of the bottomless pit.” See, Satan is a spirit. Satan is an angel. Angels are spirits, no sexual organs, even if they, uh, materialize, they’re not sexual beings, they’re just materializing so you wouldn’t be scared to death, all right, look like somebody you know or like you. “Whose name in the Hebrew tongue is” what? Abaddon, which means destruction. But in the Greek it’s [unclear], which means destroyer. So the king over the bottomless pit is a destroyer, causing destruction. Amen. And he’s the ruler over the bottommost pit, and that’s where he’s going, and then he’s going to be thrown into the lake of fire.

The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.
— Isaiah 11:6-8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 29:16Did God create the destroyer, and what do angels do? (Isaiah 54:16, Hebrews 1:14, Revelation 12:4)
Short answer: Citing Isaiah 54:16, he says God “created the waster, the destroyer, to destroy,” and that God “cannot do evil,” so he used a destroying angel in Egypt. He says Satan “wants to rule over the church” and took “one third of the stars” with him, and that angels are “ministering spirits” who “come to strengthen you” and “encourage you.”
▶ 30:54 Isaiah 54:16: “I have created the waster, the destroyer, to destroy.” Amen. Who created Satan? God did. What was his purpose in creating Satan? To do what? God, who cannot do bad, will do, and hell and the lake of fire was made for who? Satan and his angels and those who follow him. Okay. So in summation, we read that God created Lucifer, the shining one, an angel, a spirit, to destroy, as God cannot do evil. So when he slew everybody, the firstborn in Egypt, he brought in the destroying angel. He exalted his throne above the stars, the angels, ministering spirits, as it says in Hebrews 1:14, to believers. Angels are ministering spirits to believers. You have an angel, the church has angels, and if God opened their eyes, we would see them. And he wants to rule over the church, he don’t like you serving Christ, he wants you to serve him. He was cast down to earth. Revelation 12:4 says “and took one third of the stars with him.” What are the stars? Angels. He took one-third of the stars with him when he was kicked out of heaven, all right. So two-thirds of the angels stayed, messengers of the church. Do you understand that? Yes, sir. Hallelujah. So when you have an angel appears to you, why does he come? To say something. That’s what angels do. They come, and if they appear and materialize, they have a message for you, they come to minister to you.
▶ 33:22 Didn’t angels come to minister to Christ after the 40 days in the desert? Yes. Yeah, they come to strengthen you, they come to encourage you. And as we read, he will be cast down into the pit and then the lake of fire, and in the meanwhile Satan has authority to test and tempt mankind, and he has authority to destroy unbelievers and the disobedient. If I [unclear] disobey God’s word, that can destroy, it can wind up killing me, let alone destroy my family, my children, my marriage, and then my life. And Satan has that authority when you come into the authority of his kingdom. You’re coming into the kingdom of destruction. Are you there? And Jesus can literally say, set you free from his control and his power. He literally can. That’s Bible. Jesus’s death rendered Satan powerless over his church and obedient believers.

— Hebrews 1:14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 32:15Revelation 12:4 (NKJV)

— Revelation 12:4 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 32:41Matthew 4:11 (NKJV)
Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
— Matthew 4:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 33:23How do believers have authority over Satan?
Short answer: He says “Satan is my problem. Guess who’s my problem? Me.” He says “obedient believers have authority over Satan and his fallen angels,” and urges “a prayer life,” “a word life” and “a fasting life,” saying it “won’t hurt you to fast once a week” so that people in bondage can be set free “through the word and the spirit.”
▶ 34:48 So Satan is my problem. Guess who’s my problem? Me. I’m my problem. I can blame Satan, but I’m the problem. I got Jesus living in me, I got the Spirit of God living in me, he guides me into all truth, he empowers me, and I can grieve him, I can reject him, I can quench him, but Satan has no authority once I believe and embrace the cross and invite Jesus into my life. Obedient believers have authority over Satan and his fallen angels. How long? Quickly. See, that’s why it’s imperative you get a prayer life, you get a word life, you get a fasting life. Won’t hurt you to fast once a week. You will gain authority over the... when you run into people that’s under bondage to the kingdom of darkness, you, through the word and the Spirit, can set them free. So see, fasting and prayer and worship and all this stuff, it’s important. It’s important, that’s how you learn to hear from God and talk to, to God, through fasting and prayer, getting into the word. You’ll start hearing his voice.
Scripture in this part
John 16:13 (NKJV)
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
— John 16:13 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 35:01 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Will the saints take the kingdom? (Daniel 7:18, 7:21, Luke 21:24)
Short answer: He says “Satan’s children are given a time period to rule over believers,” but reading Daniel he says “the saints of the Most High shall take the kingdom,” “right here on earth,” and that “we don’t have to be raptured.” He ties Luke 21:24, “till the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled,” and the 400 years in Egypt to the idea of an appointed time.
▶ 36:07 Satan’s children are in conflict with obedient believers, and they are given, and I’m going, I’m, I’m, I’m summarizing a lot of messages now that I preached to you, and they are given, these, these, uh, Satan’s children are given a time period to rule over believers, all right. And Daniel 7:8: “The saints of the Most High shall take the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever.” There’s a time coming when we will rule. We don’t have to be raptured. There’s going to be a time when this glorious church is going to be a church that the gates of hell cannot prevail against, right here on earth. Daniel 7:21: “The same horn made war with the saints and prevailed against them until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High God, and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”
▶ 37:13 Hallelujah. Now, you remember Jesus said that Jerusalem shall be trodden down till the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Okay, so we don’t know how long that is, but we know in Egypt they were down there 400 years under slavery to the Egyptian government, Egyptian people, until the sin of Canaan came to maturity, the Bible says came to its fullness. Then he brought them out with 10 great judgments and then gave them their promise, and they ruled over Canaan. Then, yeah. Now in our generation, Israel became a nation in 1948, very significant, important fulfillment of prophecy, because the Bible said they would become a natural nation again. And it’s no accident that there was a tremendous visitation of God in the late ‘40s, to parallel with that restoration of Israel becoming a nation. But Israel did not get control of Jerusalem for till 20 years later, 1967. Then they got control over Jerusalem, and guess what happened in 1967?

Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years. And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions. Now as for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age. But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”
— Genesis 15:13-16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 37:30What does he say about Israel in 1948 and 1967, the Catholic Church and the Dome of the Rock?
Short answer: He says Israel becoming a nation and regaining Jerusalem were prophetic, and that in 1967 “God poured out his Spirit on the Catholic Church,” so “God still cares for every kind, every flavor, of believer.” He tells a story about the Dome of the Rock and says “religious people really worship natural things,” while “we can go right to the throne of Jesus.” These are his claims and are not verified here.
▶ 38:58 God poured out his Spirit on the Catholic Church, after he’d already poured out his Spirit on all these other denominations. 1967, he poured out the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues, worshiping God, the power of God on the Catholics. And so we got to take note that God still cares for every kind, every flavor, of believer, doesn’t he? It doesn’t matter if you’re Orthodox, Episcopalian, a Catholic, a Baptist, or whatever. God cares for his people that believe in him, and he made it very plain in the ‘60s, very plain. Now, Israel gave control of the Dome of the Rock back to Jordan’s Muslims to keep peace. You say, “What’s that got to do with anything?” Well, the [unclear] built over the, over that rock, that rock is the foundation stone in the old temple. And religious people really worship natural things. Have you ever noticed that? Jerusalem, a rock in the old temple, it was, it was the foundation stone in the old temple, and when the Muslim leader had the engineers to build the new, they build it, they left the foundation stone outside the new building, and so he killed him after he found out. So the eastern wall, the Dome of the Rock, is on the outside of it, and the Muslims built a mosque there, and Israel, to keep peace.
▶ 40:47 Because when Jordan had Jerusalem, they wouldn’t let the Israelites in to worship. In this natural city, that’s just beyond understanding, why we want to worship in Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock, the Wailing Wall, when we can go right to the throne of Jesus. Amen. We don’t have to make any journey or anything, I can just get on my knees in my bedroom and bam, there’s the throne of God. But religious people do funny things. Yeah, they really do. They really do funny things. So we can be looking forward to something happening to that Dome of the Rock, all right, just like we can be looking forward to something happening to God’s glorious church before he raptures us, becoming a glorious church, a mature bride ready for the coming of Christ, a church that the gates of hell is not prevailing against. Why? Because Jesus already, in his death, put Satan powerless to those who believe.
How does he end? (Revelation 5:5, Revelation 19:16)
Short answer: He says there is “a day when he’s going to work on Satan right here on earth, exalt his church, and bring in a great harvest.” He calls Lucifer “the imitator” and says Lucifer and Leviathan are “a lion without teeth, without claws, without power,” while Jesus is “the Lion of the tribe of Judah” and “the King of kings and the Lord of lords.”
▶ 42:02 He already quickly put Satan under your feet. Quickly. As a believer he’ll do it quickly, and there’s coming a day when he’s going to work on Satan right here on earth, exalt his church, and bring in a great harvest. Amen. So Lucifer is the imitator. Jesus is the real, life. Lucifer and Leviathan are a lion without teeth, without claws, without power. Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and he’s the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Amen. Hallelujah. So let’s give Jesus a big hand for his work on the cross. Yeah.

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added by hand, and obvious caption errors were corrected; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: at about 18:56 he reads “1 Corinthians 11:14” (Satan masquerading as an angel of light); that wording is 2 Corinthians 11:14, shown here. At about 15:36 the caption reads “Hebrews 24,” taken as Hebrews 2:14. At about 36:30 he reads “Daniel 7:8,” but the words match Daniel 7:18, shown here. In the Revelation 9:11 passage (about 30:27) the Greek name was garbled in the captions and is marked [unclear]; the Hebrew name Abaddon is as he says it. “Shilo” in the captions was taken as Sheol and “tears” as tares.
