Pastor David G. Kincer compares King David with King Jesus. David sinned but repented; Jesus died for all sin. Both were betrayed by close friends and opposed by leaders, yet God’s plan prevailed. God stopped David’s plague when he repented and can stop any pandemic. He closes with the prayer to restore the joy of salvation.

What is the opening prayer?

Short answer: Do not keep silent, O God; pursue them with Your tempest, that they may know Your name alone is the Most High.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:01 Good morning welcome everyone thank you for joining us and for joining us online it’s good to have everybody in the room God bless you we’re going to start this morning with a Psalm. Of Psalms 83. It says do not keep silent o God do not hold your peace do not be still. Oh God for behold our enemies make a tunnel they make. They’re making a mess. Those who hate you lifted up their head they take crappy counsel against your people they’ve consulted to get together against your sheltered ones. They have said come let us cut them off from being a nation that the name of Israel may be remembered no more or do you want to say the name of the church.

▶ 0:57 That the church may be remembered no more verse 13 says. For verse 15 pursue them with your tempest write them with your storm. Fill their faces with shame that they may seek your name o Lord. The first part of this verse is talking about how the church is asking God not to be silent not to hold us peace. That people have taken crafting council against the church that’s us. And there’s ideologies out in America today in the world that. Are in opposition to the church. And the scripture asks God to pursue them fill their faces with sin that they may seek your name not that they need to destroy but they may seek God’s name amen.

▶ 1:56 Let them be confounded. Let them be put to shame and perish that they may know that you whose name alone is the Lord are the most high over all the earth. It is still preached that Satan is in charge of all the earth but I. Submit to you today in many verses all over the scriptures Jesus Christ the Lord is still. In charm of all here and this morning I want us to surrender ourselves to ask God to come and not be still we don’t want him to be silent. We want him to come and pursue the enemy with the tempest and fill the faces of shame that they may seek his name let’s lift up our voices this morning as we play one chord and ask God.

▶ 2:53 Let’s lift up his holy name and then we’re going to pray and ask God and come with his power come with us. Awesome and great power and bring shame on sin let’s lift up his name this. Morning. Um. We.

▶ 4:12 Jesus. That he would not be silent that he would not be still and then he would come with this tempest and bring shame on sin. That people would turn to him and seek his face let’s pass for that this morning God we come before you Jesus this morning God we pray Lord God that you come with your mighty hand and your power God Jesus Jesus we need you Jesus God we need your strength Jesus we need your word to be heard Lord we need your word to be spoken Jesus we want the truth Jesus to be spoken throughout our on.

▶ 5:09 The countries in our country. Do not keep silent oh God do not keep silent. Jesus. So.

▶ 6:14 Down. There. Is. Me. Oh.

▶ 7:28 Oh. Oh. Oh.

▶ 8:52 Oh. Is. I am going. To.

▶ 9:58 In these. Waters. Is. Every. Day. Is.

▶ 11:00 Every day. Is. Say.

▶ 12:22 Oh. Is precious. Jesus. Lord I need. You. Oh.

▶ 14:42 So. As the pastor prepares to come because I can just take a moment and go to the Lord one more time father as we come together this morning. Lord we just pray for your spirit to flow through this place as we continue on in this service and Lord as the pastor comes with his message once again we ask you to speak to our hearts we thank you and give. For joining with us live in our service. Or maybe you’ll watch it later recorded. We are speaking out of second Samuel. About the story of Absalom. Conspiring against his father the government to overthrow them.

What is the comparison?

▶ Watch this part (15:38)

Short answer: King David as an example of King Jesus; God promised to establish David’s seed and kingdom forever.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 15:38 Today we’re going to. See the example of king David. Compared to king. Jesus. But first we’re going to go to Philippians 1:6. Being confident of this very thing. That he who has begun a good work in you. Will complete it. Until the day of Jesus Christ now this verse has worked for me all through my Christian walk. I’ve gone through some very difficult times without blinking an eye because I knew Christ. Cannot lie what he promised is he will perform and he promised that good work he began in me in spite of me and my failures he’s going to finish it he’s going to complete it and in.

▶ 16:42 Second Samuel 7 12. God came to king David through the prophet and said this powerful statement I’m going to set up your seed after you David and I’m going to establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name that’s Jesus building the church and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever David’s kingdom wasn’t going to last forever David’s rulership wasn’t going to last forever but the king coming like David. He is going to be a king who’s going to sit on the throne and he’s his kingdom is going to be eternal and he says this powerful statement I will be his father and he shall be my son God himself conceived.

▶ 17:39 In Mary, and Mary birthed the only begotten son of God and so we see that king David. Is an example of king Jesus so we’re going to look and compare these two. Remember. First comes the natural then comes the spiritual we shared that with you a few sessions ago. The first Adam was natural Adam who brought in sin the second Adam the Bible says was Jesus who conquered sin and delivered us from sin and so king David is compared here in Samuel ii Samuel to Jesus Christ. Also remember in first Corinthians it says that the Old Testament was written.

Why was Absalom’s story written?

▶ Watch this part (18:33)

Short answer: For our example and warning.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 18:33 For our example. And our warning and so the story of Absalom was written for our example so we could learn from. Our teaching upon whom the ends of the world are come so here we go the first thing you’re going to notice about king David is he sinned four times. And yet God accepted him. Jesus. Had no sin in him he did not sin see it was like Adam the first Adam and Adam the second Adam here and the Bible says that God called from heaven and said this is my beloved son and who I am well please. So Jesus is entirely different from David because David.

What sins did David commit?

▶ Watch this part (19:27)

Short answer: His son raped his daughter and David tried to hide it; he had Uriah killed, and more.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:27 Made some mistakes in sin he made four of them. One of the first sins that he committed is his son. Raped his daughter and David as king and judge of the nation never did anything about it never corrected his his son. So Absalom rose up two years later and killed that brother that raped his sister and David again did nothing to absent. David did not do his job now that’s a sin that’s wrong. Then David committed adultery with bathsheba who considered consented to the affair and they both in the Bible were supposed to be put to death nothing was done about it the priests weren’t bringing it to anybody’s attention.

▶ 20:19 The people weren’t bringing it to anybody’s attention and David tried to hide it and he tried to hide it by killing her husband he brought in her husband got him drunk and then figured he’d go home and have sex with his wife and then the baby she was pregnant uh he would think was his that’s how deep David got into this sin all right so when. Uriah would not go to his house because the army was still out in the field and he says that’s not right and he was right one person should not be brought out to enjoy life while the rest of them are fighting. Battles. So David put Uriah on the front lines of the battle and told joab to withdraw the troops from him and uriah.

▶ 21:11 Got overcome by the enemy and died in battle all right. That’s two other sins his third sin was he as king took the senses. He wanted to number his citizenship his citizen want to know how many I’m ruling over oh a little pride little arrogance but he didn’t take it with the census offering joab told him not to do it no one else told him not to do it the priests never said a word who are supposed to know the scriptures the people never said a word and so God came and brought a plague against the nation. And killed. Uh 70 000 people before God stopped.

▶ 22:05 But he spared David the one who brought the sin on. But the other ones. Did not do anything they didn’t raise their voice they didn’t raise any uh correction to what David was doing so when you go over to Jesus Jesus had no sin and he pleased God all right totally different than David David is more like us we are told we are kings and priests in the earth we are told that we can rule in life by one Christ Jesus and we make mistakes like David how many can raise your hand and say yep that’s me. All right. But why was David accepted. Why did God keep accepting David because every time David sinned and he was his sin was brought forth.

What did David do right?

▶ Watch this part (23:01)

Short answer: He admitted he was wrong, repented and turned from it.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 23:01 David admitted. He sent he admitted he was wrong he repented he turned from that wrong he didn’t go out committing adultery anymore or killing innocent men anymore or taking the senses without an offering anymore or whatever you see David is a tremendous example of the power that is then repenting. Turning from your sin admitting confessing your sin the Bible says in first John. 1 9 if we confess our sin he is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. See confessing repenting just works and God still accepts us and keeps moving in our life isn’t that beautiful hallelujah. So God told David he would not die for his sin.

How is Jesus different?

▶ Watch this part (23:56)

Short answer: Jesus died for all mankind’s sin; you can get up, God accepts you, and you move forward.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 23:56 Jesus on the other hand died for all of mankind’s sin. See. David was a divorced man. And this divorced woman slandered him. Talked bad about it. And uh a lot of people today half of America is divorced. Okay some of them are doors because it’s their fault some of them are divorced because it’s the other spouse’s fault. But in the church world we just got this little fantasy thing that boy us Christians get married and everything is going to be rosy posey people can change directions. Am I right and his wife slandered him.

▶ 24:51 And your family members and your friends and so forth may slander you Jesus on the other hand. He the Bible says about Israel your sins have separated you from your God divorced you from your God so the divorce in Jesus was his people left him for their own gods and their own ways all right very important stuff and he was slandered by Israel by the church leaders by the Jewish leaders you know he casted out demons by belzebub and and all this stuff just they just slandered him mocked him made fun of him. And. As kings and priests on earth through Christ. It’s very possible we can be divorced we can be slandered we can be mocked we can be talked about and we can commit sin repent from those sins get up and keep walking in God no matter if your friends keep bringing your sins up.

▶ 25:56 You can get up God accepts you and you can move on forward. His own children rejected him as we showed you before and Jesus. Came into his own and his own received him not you see Jesus experienced everything that we feel in the area of affection and lust and desires Jesus experienced without sin and became this perfect sacrificed lamb. Our companions. I mean his his own companions rejected him just like our friends can reject us people that we used to go to church with people we used to walk in Christian harmony with. Can reject us and leave us and want to hurt us.

Who betrayed both kings?

▶ Watch this part (26:49)

Short answer: A close friend; if it were an enemy I could bear it.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 26:49 And Jesus the same thing happened the Bible says that. If it was an enemy that did this to me I could understand but it was you my acquaintance my friend we went into the house of God to get there okay another scripture says that he was wounded. In the house of his friend. Now if you know your scriptures Jesus said you are my friends if you do what I’ve commanded you and then he turns it around and he says I spoke to you everything the father told me to speak because you are my friends so those 12 apostles were not just disciples and apostles.

▶ 27:40 They were Jesus’s friends and one of those friends rose up and betrayed Jesus Christ. And had Jesus Christ arrested. And crucified. For 30 pieces of silver. Okay. Judas had a tremendous conspiracy against Christ after becoming Christ’s friend. How many want to be Christ’s friend yes he he reveals to his friends all that the father gives him so let’s get close enough to be his friend amen. Now. We also find that old rulers hated him Paul saw king Saul hated David and tried to kill him.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Psalm 55:12-14 (NKJV)

For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me; Then I could hide from him. But it was you, a man my equal, My companion and my acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, And walked to the house of God in the throng.

— Psalm 55:12-14 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 26:49

Can civil leaders oppose believers?

▶ Watch this part (28:36)

Short answer: Yes, but Saul couldn’t kill David because God had a plan for him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 28:36 He tried to kill him many times. And. Civil leaders can oppose the church they can oppose Christians they can oppose you in fact they’re doing it today. This statement about black lives matters. Don’t this nation understand that Christians are getting persecuted in America mistreated like never before and it’s been going on for several decades. So black lives matter but Christians lives don’t matter if you’re a Christian turn the other cheek buck it up you know. Act like a Christian just love no matter what but how many know we got to speak out the truth yes the truth has to be spoken we cannot be silent Christian. So civil leaders can hate us and mistreat us.

▶ 29:32 Jesus by the way and Saul king Saul couldn’t kill David because God said David you’re not going to die for your sin so you try to kill somebody that God has not destined to die you you’re fighting the wrong battle amen. Amen. Now think of it being on God’s side has a lot of perks to it. Now Jesus was killed he wasn’t just tried to be killed he was killed and these people did not realize they were just fulfilling scripture. They hated Jesus. They were threatened by Jesus and so they killed him fulfilling scriptures that they were supposed to know and they didn’t. Know. The civil leaders the temple leaders and the Jewish community came together.

▶ 30:29 And had Jesus Christ crucified. Fulfilling. Scriptures. When David. Fought. Absalom his son and his army Israelite the Israelites came. The the judeans followed Jesus and benjamin but the rest of the tribes followed Absalom. When David won the battle. The battle was over. It was the Israelites David’s enemies that were fighting him after they were defeated they came and acknowledged him and invited him back on the throne. And David saw that and said this is not right he said these people shouldn’t be coming first it should be the Jews in judea and benjamin that are on my side and so they bucked up real quick and came down.

Can you rebel against Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (31:32)

Short answer: Yes, and realize you’ve lost.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 31:32 But listen what’s that tell us that you can rebel against Jesus. You can rebel against God realize you’ve lost the battle and invite him back into your life. Are you out there I mean that’s powerful. Powerful and a lot of times Christians just take God’s for granted you know hallelujah I’m saved and and so you know they may not go down real quick and welcome the king back and so forth. And uh thank God that no matter what kind of sinner you’ve been no matter what kind of kind of conspiracy you have done against Christ that you can come to your senses and welcome Christ back into your life and he will come that is powerful church.

▶ 32:26 And so these things of an example really help us to understand. Christ and his kingdom on Christ’s side of the of the uh slide. When Jesus died and was put in the tomb the disciples his his apostles his friends scattered. And they not only scattered they went and huddled in a room and scared the death shaking in their shoes and their knees were knocking. And so Sunday morning came around. After the Sabbath was over and it was the women that came to the tomb not looking for a resurrected savior they came looking for a dead Jesus. They didn’t even have the understanding that he was supposed to rise from the dead yet.

▶ 33:19 And one of them was a horrible sinner before you see the Israelites welcomed David ahead of his own army Judah and benjamin. These women are a perfect example of that. Hallelujah while the big apostles are hiding out these women went looking for Jesus the Jesus they had been following. Are you with me. Hallelujah. And then when Jesus came into the room and revealed himself to the apostles they returned back to him amen. So we can get cold and dry in our spirit and turn back hallelujah and those who have no knowledge of things because they love him and seek him can find him too.

▶ 34:25 Now David was a warrior. He fought battles David was a king. He ruled a kingdom David was a prophet. He prophesied many things by the spirit of God. King David was a priest he could minister before the ark of the covenant just like the Levites could it’s amazing story. And he was a psalmist. A musician a singer songs of the spirit the Psalms are just totally of the spirit. When we go to Jesus’s side. Jesus was all of these. Jesus sing a Psalm. Plus. Jesus was God in the flesh Jesus was God can I hear an amen.

Did God send someone else to die?

▶ Watch this part (35:21)

Short answer: No. Jesus was God; He died Himself for the sins of the world.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 35:21 Jesus was God God didn’t send down somebody else to die for the sins of the world he died himself for the sins of the world that body that he lived in died for the sins of the world so there we have it now. Remember David committed four sins one of those sins brought a plague. All right. And David was not killed in that plague when the death angel Satan came down. Doing the plague it stopped before it got to David amen. Why. Why did that happen. Going to Ezekiel 14 verses 12 to 23.

▶ 36:24 When I send my four severe judgments upon the land. Whether it be war sword famine economic slowdown. Dry season. Wild beasts. And pestilence or plagues. Plagues on plants plagues on animals pleads on humans. If job. Daniel and Noah were there. They would deliver neither son or daughter. They would deliver only themselves. By their faith. Now. By grace. Now. By speaking in tongues.

Are believers protected from plagues?

▶ Watch this part (37:20)

Short answer: By their righteousness; you have the Bible promise of protection from plague — but don’t be foolish.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 37:20 Now. By their righteousness. Church listen. To the scriptures. If you are really troubled by this COVID-19 this coronavirus that’s been advertised as some kind of horrible disease and plague. If you are troubled you just remember this if you are living righteous God promised the plague would not touch you and we saw that David was righteous but he had some flaws in him how many of you got some flaws in you yeah you made some mistakes so don’t get down on yourself because you made mistakes but you repented of admitted them that is staying righteous before God.

▶ 38:17 And you have the Bible promise. Of being protected from a plague now don’t get me wrong don’t go out there and test God but well I’ll just do what I want I just live normal no don’t forget to sanitize don’t forget to. If you touch things you need to sanitize those hands touching to me is how you’re going to get the virus not through the air okay I went to school I read their books you know I can read the same books doctors do you understand that. Do you understand that yes. Listen. But we have got a a principle that the world doesn’t have if we’re living for God God promised. That he would not plague the righteous so you can tell the difference between a judgment sent by God.

▶ 39:18 And a plague that is just common to man the flu or whatever. You know cancer. Uh whatever it is you can tell the difference by whether it’s affecting people who really live for God or not. If it’s affecting everybody it’s just what common to men you know you’re going to get the flu. Okay. But if it’s God’s involved and he let Satan see it with Satan that death angel that came through for the plague Satan is God’s. Bulldog God’s. Worker of of wrong God cannot do wrong you see so he created Satan to do these bad things ah he created the waster to destroy.

Can God stop a pandemic?

▶ Watch this part (40:14)

Short answer: David repented and God stopped the plague; He can stop any pandemic.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 40:14 You know he’s not just a fallen angel he was an important part of God’s whole plan. All right so God unleashed Satan to plague Israel and then God stopped Satan. From that plague. When it’s God see David was protected when it got down to righteous David and he was the one that sinned but he confessed he was wrong for doing these senses offering senses without an offering he repented from that wrong and what God counted as righteousness. See we’re always quoting that Abraham believed God and it was counted him for righteousness Abraham also obeyed God and offered his son how many of you could do that he trusts God that much his actions spoke. What his faith was in okay and here David.

▶ 41:09 He repented and God stopped the plague. Before it got to David’s house and he can stop any pandemic any plague you know these science. Let me just talk to you off the cuff is that all right. Our nation is looking to science to deliver us in many areas. But let me ask you this when God wanted to plague Egypt. Pharaoh had the wisest men there the scientists the magicians he had them all they could not stop what God was doing. When God is bringing the judgment there is no antidote for it no cure for it you see the cure was turned to God and what live right.

▶ 42:06 Can I hear an amen. You see. When Daniel. Was thrown into the lions’ den by the wise people of Babylon. The scientists. The lions couldn’t touch him. See science does not have answers when God has determined a judgment. They don’t have any solutions. There’s no vaccine. For God’s plague they can’t stop hurricanes they can’t stop earthquakes they can’t stop any of these things that God wants to do and determined to do. But you can be in the midst of those and be protected because you live for God and I’ll give you an example of that I was in denver going to school for national cash register company to learn computers and how they worked at the beginning back there where the discs were this big and had.

▶ 43:11 A hundred megabytes of storage. While I was there I went to a church assembly God church as the musicians come. I went to assembly God church real fine pastor a little on the extreme side for righteousness you know couldn’t go to rodeos couldn’t watch roy rogers on tv I never understood that and I didn’t even bother him if that’s his conviction that’s fine I had no problem watching roy rogers on tv. And I had no problem going to a rodeo I never did understand that I didn’t care he was a righteous man a good man preaching the good word of God saving souls and all the rest well there was a member in it in this church that had a ranch. Outside of denver it was in denver and a big rain came rain for several days and the river overflowed.

▶ 44:06 And on a weeknight. Service this guy asked for prayer he says if this river overflows it’s going to ruin me I’m going to be bankrupt. I want you to pray that somehow God spares my land well Sunday comes around this guy in testimony time we always had testimony he said folks. Before that river overflooded its banks. It detoured went right around my property it changed course went right around my property and my property was not touched by the flood the river did overflow and create a lot of of destruction you see that I didn’t know it as a young Christian but that was fulfilling Ezekiel here that if you live before God and you might make mistakes but God is going to honor you and he prayed and asked and so God answered him amen powerful and I could tell you a lot of stories like that that’s just the one that came.

Who should we not follow?

▶ Watch this part (45:08)

Short answer: Let no one deceive you; he who practices righteousness is righteous.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 45:08 So. First John 3:7 do not let anyone lead you astray is that a good amen. People want to they want you to follow their level of faith they want you to agree with them. He said don’t do that the one who does what is right is righteous is that an amen not somebody that says the righteous but somebody who does right is righteous even as Jesus is righteous was Jesus righteous by faith or did he live righteous. He lived it or he wouldn’t have been a sacrificed lamb. It had to be a perfect land. He who practices sin is of who. The Devil when you habitually.

▶ 46:01 See if David would have said ah nuts on you God I’m gonna I’m gonna commit adultery more and I’m gonna kill people more and all that. David would not have been accepted he would have been he would have died just like Saul did. Hallelujah so we might make mistakes but we don’t live in habitual sin we don’t practice sinning. And that will protect you from any plague any war anything that God brings because he spares the righteous. So if we come to God today and we admit our wrongs. And repent turn from them he will forgive us cleanse us accept us and bless our life and this is the kind of prayer David prayed created me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me cast me not away from your presence.

▶ Watch this part (47:00)

Short answer: Do not take Your Holy Spirit from me; restore to me the joy of Your salvation.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 47:00 O Lord take not your Holy Spirit from me and restore unto me the joy of thy salvation is that a good prayer. All right if you want God powerful in your life if you’re out there in facebook land and you’ve sinned I challenge you today get on your knees or stand and just admit to God talk to Jesus just tell him you’ve been wrong tell him where you’ve been wrong at ask him to forgive you tell him you’re going to turn from that lifestyle and he will come to you and you will feel his con converting power working in your life so if you want to be like David and be spared from any judgment of God will you stand with me and let’s sing. This.
