The final message in the Job series shows how Job responded when God spoke from the whirlwind: he acknowledged God can do everything, admitted he spoke what he didn’t understand, heard God, and repented in dust and ashes. When Job prayed for his friends, God restored him double; we too must confess, hate evil, forgive and change our behavior.

Who brought Job’s trouble?

▶ Watch this part (26:01)

Short answer: Satan, who was given permission; he is like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, as with the lying spirit in the prophets.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 26:01 God and it’s very important to this part is very important so that we know how to respond to God how should we be responding to. God and to these kind of situations we want to be reminded that Satan was given. Permission uh I have a picture of wolf and sheep’s clothing that’s what Satan is sometimes he seems like he’s a friend but he’s. Not Isaiah chapter 5416 says that he’s created the waser to destroy Satan was created by God to destroy because God cannot do evil God cannot lie he doesn’t know how to do all these things there’s a story in the Bible of a king.

▶ 26:58 That uh God is up in heaven and he’s having this conversation about how who’s going to who’s going to who’s going to hurt this king or who’s going to bring judgment upon this king and then one you know evil spirit comes up and he’s like I’m going to be a lying spirit in his prophets you guys remember that story I don’t remember who it is exactly but that’s that’s you know God has got to bring judgment down and he uh has these conversations with the kingdom of darkness and this is what’s going on so go uh he created the waser to destroy Satan is that destroyer John 8:44 he was a murderer from the beginning there’s no truth in him he is a liar and the father of it in John 10:10 he says he’s the thief that comes to kill to steal to destroy and if you know that verse Jesus says but I have come to give you life and to give you life more abundantly.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Kings 22:22 (NKJV)

The LORD said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the LORD said, ‘You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’

How did Job end up accusing God?

▶ Watch this part (28:00)

Short answer: Talking with his friends got him accusing God without evidence; watch your friends and deal with thoughts in your mind.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 28:00 So Job had accused God but did not have any evidence of his accusations with his friends he got to talk with his friends and his friends got him accusing God so we got to watch out what happens with our friends and what happens with what the things that we say uh you know keep those thoughts in your mind deal with them in your mind before they get out here. Right cuz uh words can uh cause a problem they can cause a problem in as a spouse they can cause a problem as a parent as a child to a parent everywhere you go your words are very important what comes out of your mouth and we have to be careful of making accusations without any evidence you know Job was accusing God but he didn’t have any evidence and people accuse people all the time without any evidence they’ll accuse spouses children and friends or what not without evidence and that’s also.

Can we hide from God?

▶ Watch this part (29:02)

Short answer: No; He has seen it all. You can lie to a police officer, but not to God.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 29:02 Important uh the problem is that when you stand before God he’s seen it all you know if you’re not honest and you you look at the police officer and you say I didn’t do nothing and you’re lying through your teeth right you’re not going to be able to do that with God he’s going to say oh well what was this and you’re going to be like yeah that was. Me I never said such thing and he he shows you what was that he’s going ah that was. Me so we can lie and we can try to not get caught in this life but it’s not going to be the same with God and that’s what we got to deal with now we got to be honest with God now don’t wait till you get up in heaven and try to be honest with God because we’re all going to be honest with God the evidence will be there just deal with it now.

What did Elihu say?

▶ Watch this part (29:56)

Short answer: The young man who listened said surely God will never do wickedly, and asked if Job thought his righteousness was more than God’s.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 29:56 Amen. Elihu in chapter Job chapter 34:12 he was preaching to the friends and to Job and Elihu is the he was the young guy in the group and he was just listening to everything and then at the end he’s like hold on here you guys are not saying the truth and one of the things he said was surely God will never do wickedly nor the Almightyy pervert justice and eloh who showed Job it was wrong for him to accuse God.

What is the key to responding to God?

▶ Watch this part (30:29)

Short answer: Job answered the Lord with his mouth; open your mouth, worship and exalt Him. David said I will bless the Lord at all times.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 30:29 In Job chapter 35 Elihu said do you say that your righteousness is more than God’s you’re saying you’re better than God and so Job we get to the part where he is responding to God in Job chapter 42:1 he answered the Lord so last week talk we talked about God talking back and answering Job through the whirlwind you remember that and here Job gives his response and this is very important we have to stop and read this and see how can I apply this to myself how can we apply this you know worldwide people you know in our relationships our lives and and to God we want to remember in Luke 11:2 Jesus in red letters said when you pray say and then he said the lord’s prayer right our father and heaven hallowed be thy name so we want to be reminded that using your mouth is important your mouth not my mouth not a minister not some pastor not your friend’s mouth it’s your mouth I used to tell the kids all the time when we were praising God I can be up here and I can worship and I can touch God but if you guys don’t do it you’re not going to get it you’re not going to experience exp erience it you’re not going to have a you know

▶ 31:59 him speaking to you you’re not going to have the same experience oh you don’t believe God is real well why don’t you open your mouth worship him exalt him let him come to you oh I’m not going to do that well come. On right here the key is in whose mouth my mouth your mouth amen David Psalms 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times David made many mistakes he committed big sins he repented from them and turned from them but David what did he do he blessed the Lord at all times and so whenever he made these mistakes he would come back to God he would pray he would worship he would ask for forgiveness he would repent and turn and God would come and even though it was a tough word from nathan if you remember the response from nathan David still responded and he still kept blessing the Lord at all times amen and so even when we mess up remember Christ died for who the church.

What is the first step of restoration?

▶ Watch this part (33:12)

Short answer: Acknowledge that God has the power to restore you, like repairing his old Nissan Sentra the insurer almost totaled.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 33:12 Not just the sinner the church now you’ve accepted Christ we’ve accepted Christ so now we’re moving on we’re becoming Christians but Christ also died for us. Amen and he wants to keep cleansing us and making us. New so it’s the mouth is very important so step number one for restoration you see this car up here. Right at my work I work for insurance company they have a department called total. Loss. Right and that department they assess your car and they say are we going going to fix this or are we going to total loss it are we going to.

▶ 34:05 Just uh get rid of this car uh I remember I got in an accident it was very light accident and I went to my insurance company and and they almost did a total loss of my car because it’s it’s not even worth anything it was a little Nissan Sentra old uh but luckily they they paid to repair it and everything but you see you look at this mess right and there’s worse messes than this and you say to yourself that is a what total loss but God does not look at you the same and God can restore you back to the original mint commission condition out of the factory and he can take every piece that’s broken every piece of plastic that’s been mangled and he can repair it back new and so so restoration is being fashioned back into that condition that we were designed for amen and God Christ can do that one of the first things we need to do is agree and say that God is almighty he does what is right and he has the power to.

What did Job acknowledge?

▶ Watch this part (35:19)

Short answer: In pain and loss he said I know that You can do everything and no purpose of Yours can be withheld; Abraham had the same faith.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 35:19 Restore this piece of junk back to its original condition so he has the power to restore my life back to what I was designed and created for amen that’s number. One Abraham had the faith that God had the power and would do what he. Promised and so this world unbelievers and Christians uh you know people that say they’re Christians people that aren’t living doing what’s right and uh but say oh yes I’m saved we stray from our purpose and we get what we get uh harm and and and crashes in our life but we can be. Restored and let me tell you this if Job who was blameless and upright amen if he needed restoration don’t we need restoration don’t we need it I need it I look at Job and say I you know I’m nowhere near that guy we need rest.

▶ 36:29 Ation it’s not good to be silent Job 42:2 I know that you can do everything and no purpose of yours can be withheld from you so here Job is acknowledging he’s agreeing that God can do this change and restoration you got to remember at this point in his life he has boils on his skin he has lost all of his wealth he might have some stored up in the bank accounts he might uh he’s got widows that you know all died from the people that the husbands that died in his workforce he’s got orphans he’s got people he’s trying to take care of he’s got a wife that hates him he’s got. Uh now we just need the story of the woman right whose husband hates.

▶ 37:23 Her to balance that out but here he says I know that you can do everything that no purpose of yours can be withheld from you isn’t that an excellent acknowledgement here he is he’s in. Pain and he’s saying God you can do you can restore everything. Back amen it’s a powerful uh powerful acknowledgement that he’s doing here see it’s easy you if you’re you’re a billionaire and uh you’re doing great in life yeah I agree with you God yeah whatever you say but when you’re in Job’s situation this statement is different right. Amen Romans 10:9 if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved for the heart for with a heart one believes into righteousness with a mouth confession is made into salvation so again that mouth it’s very important I remember going with um.

Do I need someone to lead me to God?

▶ Watch this part (38:28)

Short answer: No; in the new covenant all shall know Him from the least to the greatest, so nothing keeps you from going directly to God.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 38:28 Someone witnessing on [unclear] street and we were young you know we didn’t know what we were doing and we uh talked with a girl and uh she you know the other person that I was with she’s like you know trying getting you know saying okay well let’s pray the sinner’s prayer so she starts praying the sinner’s prayer I’m like wait a second no she’s got to do it you know it can’t be us praying the prayer over somebody they have to do it with their own mind mouth and when she did that God came in a very small way but you could see it on her that when she said and confessed when she admitted God came to. Her and so it’s very important that your mouth is the mouth that is saying these.

▶ 39:19 Things also remember the new covenant in Ezekiel says that all shall what no me from the what the least to the greatest so there is nothing keeping you from going directly to God if this morning you may think that you there is uh something blocking you you know maybe it’s your sin okay you need to repent from your sin yes you need to ask and admit but you can go directly to Jesus you can go directly to God the father I I am you don’t need a minister min you don’t need a priest you can get on your knees and you can access God directly is very important there is nothing stopping you but yourself number two confess verbally admit your error your sin your mistake here is Job in 42:3 he goes on to say I have uttered what I did not understand things too wonderful for me which I did not know my accusation to you God was.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Jeremiah 31:34 (NKJV)

No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

— Jeremiah 31:34 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 39:19 (quoted; reference not named in the message)

What is the second step?

▶ Watch this part (40:35)

Short answer: Admit exactly what you did wrong; Job said I uttered what I did not understand. If we confess, He is faithful to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 40:35 Wrong I have uttered things I didn’t I didn’t understand what I was saying God so here he is he’s acknowledging exactly what he did wrong you know I was yelling at you this morning and that was wrong honey I’m. Sorry. If we confess our sins 1 John 1:9 he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all. Unrighteousness and so we know Job didn’t know about God’s conversation with the Devil I I don’t even know if he ever found. Out I don’t know how this book was written though right somebody had to know for the book to be written so who was it.

▶ 41:27 But uh at this point uh maybe God sure we don’t know but you know he he didn’t he didn’t know what was happening at the beginning so can we admit that we’ve messed up I was wrong when I did this will will God cleanse us from all sin even the unpardonable sin and I say that because it says he’ll cleanse us from what all. Unrighteousness so does that does that include the unpardonable sin yes God Jesus’s power is total it’s everything so don’t think you’re beyond saving or beyond forgiveness oh I’ve done too much bad in my life or I’ve murdered somebody or I was this or I was that God can turn you around God can forgive all your sin you don’t understand I’ve been sinning since I was 10 years old since I was 5 years old as long as I can remember it doesn’t matter Christ his blood covers.

How do we hear God today?

▶ Watch this part (42:36)

Short answer: Probably not audibly; in your conscience and in the Bible, which pricks you. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 42:36 All people need to understand that we also need to understand again that we have direct access to God when you go home there is nothing stopping you from accessing. God uh there is something actually it’s called you know what we want to do our flesh our desires right we don’t got any time I don’t got time for God look at what all this stuff I got to do. Amen number three we have to see with our spiritual eyes what our natural ears are hearing Job 42:5 he says this I have heard of you with the hearing of the ear but now my eyes see. You and so God is talking to him through the whirlwind it was it a tornado I don’t.

▶ 43:28 Know but God is talking to him through this whirlwind and his voice is audible and you can hear. It and we’ve got to hear that voice in our heart uh you will most likely in your life will not hear an audible voice from. God but you can hear in your conscience you can hear when you read the Bible his h that word will prick you in your heart it will cut you in your heart it will affect. You amen you guys all know what I’m talking about we’ve experienced this before John chapter 89 they heard it being convicted by their own conscience went out one by one being at the eldest even unto the last Jesus was left alone and the woman standing in the midst if you remember the story of the woman who was caught uh committing adultery they brought her out and said Jesus what must be done with this woman they said our law says she should be stoned and they asked Jesus are you going to stone.

▶ 44:35 Her and Jesus replied and said he who has no sin cast the first stone. Right and it says they were what convicted in their conscience see their spiritual eyes were open at that time they’re open to their sin they recognized what they did was. Wrong. Uh I don’t want to get into all that. But we’ve got to recognize with our spiritual understanding that we have done something wrong we’ve got to have that conviction in our hearts.

Why didn’t good preaching turn the Pharisees?

▶ Watch this part (49:49)

Short answer: Their hearts were hard; Jesus called them whitewashed tombs. When God showed up in the transfiguration, Peter and John wanted to serve Him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 49:49 Preaching in Luke 11:52 Jesus is talking to the scribes and Pharisees and he says woe do you hypocrites wo do you you make a you make a a convert twice the son of hell than yourself wo woe to you you whitewashed tombs you’re clean on the outside but inside you’re dead man’s. Bones right we remember that Jesus is talking to the scribes and Pharisees they did not listen to. Christ they began to assail and become hostile toward Christ they began to oppose him vehemently to cross-examine Jesus about many things lying and wait for him seeking to catch him and something he might say that they might accuse Christ see this is how they responded to Christ they didn’t rep repent at Christ preaching they didn’t uh the friends didn’t repent at elu preaching and we don’t repent.

▶ 50:53 Either at good preach at preachers good preaching but when God showed up. They repented now I want you to understand something do you know we know that Jesus is God right so what was the deal you know Jesus is preaching to them and they are not turning right their hearts are. Hard in Matthew chapter 17:2 it says that Jesus was transfigured before them his face shone like the sun and his clothes became as white as the light and Peter responded immediately and they’re seeing this go on Peter and John and they say Lord it’s good for us to be here if you wish we’re going to make three tabernacles one for you one for Moses one for Elijah you guys remember that story right so Jesus he he takes off the veil that he’s got on right Jesus is you know he’s walking around he’s very unassuming he doesn’t look like the savior there’s no you look at the man you’re like that’s the savior.

▶ 52:07 Him but you see what he said was truth what he said was. Right and when people were healed it was like wait a second whoa and then when they saw this trans. Transfiguration immediately Peter and John they they they didn’t even wait for God to ask him for anything they wanted to serve and honor Jesus Christ see we need that encounter with the transfigured Jesus Christ you need the encounter with God you need God involved when you’re repenting when you’re asking for forgiveness you need God to.

Is reading the Bible enough?

▶ Watch this part (52:59)

Short answer: Atheists can read it and say who cares; people need an encounter with the King of kings, and to invite God to do what psychiatrists, pastors and teachers can’t.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 52:59 Come. Amen we can’t just read these words on a page and and and we need that word to open up to us and let that living word touch us you know people can read atheists can read the Bible and they’re like I read the Bible and who. Cares they need to have a meeting with an encounter with the king of kings and the Lord of lords you remember that when when Paul met Christ on the road to damascus amen that was that trans transfigured Jesus Christ sitting on the right hand of the father he was bright as the son that was Paul’s moment we need to have that moment and we need to keep having those moments where we encounter. Christ Americans need that that meeting with.

▶ 53:54 God. So we need God involved in everything we decide in christianity so we’re m we know we’re making the right decision God responded to Job in a whirlwind his voice was audible for everyone to hear and so everybody’s jaws are dropping right and they’re like yes we’re going to repent we’re going to repent in dust and ashes we’re going to we’re going to do handstands we’re whatever you h if you say jump how high. Right you know we’ll we’ll do it you’re real I’m sorry I didn’t know and understand I made a mistake and God’s like yeah you. Better and so in church it’s important it’s very important for.

▶ 54:47 Us to have time where God can. Come to give you an opportunity to encounter God for yourself. To to invite God to come and do what people can’t do to invite God to come do what the psychiatrists can’t do to invite God to come and do what pastors can’t do and teachers can’t do he can do. It. Amen and God can restore us back to our original condition God can restore us back to where we were not we are not missing anything and the last step is forgiving our enemies forgiving. Ourself praying for our enemies to humble themselves before God that they would.

When did God restore Job?

▶ Watch this part (55:47)

Short answer: When he prayed for his friends; the Lord gave him twice as much. Pray for one another and forgive your enemies.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 55:47 Turn. Amen and it’s shown here in Job 42:10 the the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends and the Lord increased all that Job had. Twofold James chapter 5:16 says pray one for another that you may be healed pray for your enemies he prayed for his friends that were accusing him he prayed for the people that were mocking him. Job prayed for his enemies and he also forgave them you have to be you have to forgive. People forgive people let it.

▶ 56:40 Go don’t hold on to hatred don’t hold on to something you know forgive people forgive your enemies pray for them pray that they turn to God and turn to right and see we got to get our eyes off of us and get our when we get our eyes on others we pray for oursel we pray for others we we don’t want to be self-centered here we’ve got. To love our neighbor by praying for them it’s not always about us. Amen Matthew 6:14 basic scriptures that Jesus said if you forgive men their trespasses your father in heaven will forgive you if you do not forgive their trespasses neither will f your father forgive your trespasses and we get upset one another in the church and we get mad and oh this person you know they gave me an ugly look or you know they they hit my car I don’t know what it could be all right they were rude and this there’s a lot of things that we can do to each other.

Is saying sorry enough?

▶ Watch this part (57:56)

Short answer: Confess and make things right, but changing your behavior is better than saying sorry; words are cheap.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 57:56 Right but we have to. Forgive we’ve got to put it behind us confess your trespasses to one. Another you know we we’ve got to go and and uh make things right with one another if we’ve wronged one another and it’s just a simple you know I’m sorry I did this to that person you don’t go you don’t come in a church meeting or a Bible study and say oh my my husband isn’t he hit me this morning and share it with everybody now we don’t want that you know nobody wants anybody hitting but you don’t share it with the whole world okay you don’t share all that stuff with everyone we don’t we don’t do that it’s between us and God or or pastor that can that can handle that now if I gave you two options and I said okay this person is willing to say sorry to you but he’s going to slap you 10 minutes from now and after he slaps you 10 minutes now he’s going to say sorry again and then after that he’s going to slap you.

▶ 59:09 Again. Or after he slapped you the first time he’s going to change his behavior he may not say sorry but he’s not going to do it again which one was better changing your behavior right. So it’s pretty easy to see that changing your behavior is better than saying sorry you know words are. Cheap. Amen we’ve got to change our behavior Job 42:11 as miss Woods comes all his brothers and sisters and those who had been acquainted his acquaintance before came to him and ate food with him so those who had mocked him those who had mistreated him his brothers his sisters maybe they had a quarrel who knows they each gave him a piece of silver each a ring of gold and God blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning.

How did Job’s story end?

▶ Watch this part (1:00:21)

Short answer: He lived 140 years and saw four generations; he got double what he had and had children born to him again.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Unidentified speaker (not clearly Pastor Kincer)

▶ 1:00:21 And after this he lived 140 years saw his children and grandchildren for four. Generations and Job experienced a powerful restoration in his life he got he got remember it says twofold he got double what he had before he had children born to him again his children were restored I’m not not children restored but he was able to have more children his marriage was restored. And he was able to bring all of his enemies back his friends were restored in right relationship with God they repented they turned and so we see here an example of all coming to the unity of the faith to the knowledge of the son of God to a perfect man the full stature of the fullness of Christ Job’s uh going through this affected everyone around.

Scripture (NKJV)

Job 42:12-17 (NKJV)

In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. So Job died, old and full of days.
