Then he gives Jesus Christ’s counterattack to Satan’s weapons: God restores and heals those on the path, the rock and among thorns, and restores the years the locusts have eaten.

What is the good ground in the parable of the sower?

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:00 Responsibilities they don’t find time they don’t balance their time and some of them get involved in lustful pleasures alcohol drugs sexual sin and so forth. So it’s imperative that we balance our natural time with spiritual time or else we’re not going to be fruitful then that brings us to the good soil all right the good ground the seed sown on good ground are they that having heard the word all right they believe it they receive it with joy into an honest and good heart. They understand the full word.

Scripture (NKJV)

Luke 8:15 (NKJV)

But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.

— Luke 8:15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:00

Is the parable of the sower about people who never heard the gospel?

▶ Watch this part (0:52)

Short answer: No. All four heard the word. The parable is about those who heard the gospel of Jesus Christ: born of a virgin, signs and wonders, laying down His life for the sins of the world and raising that body back up on Sunday morning.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:52 The parts that these guys miss they understand it and here’s a real kicker they keep the word and they bring forth fruit with patience now what’s common to all four and blue all four heard the word this parable is not two people who has never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ it’s two those who heard the gospel of Jesus Christ born of a virgin promised in the Old Testament to come the messiah. Did signs and wonders. Healings miracles walked on water multiplied the bread preached the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Lay down his life because no one could take it he laid down his life that body that God lived in died for the sins of the world and he raised that body back up again on Sunday morning alright.

▶ 1:56 That’s the gospel. They all of these people heard the gospel but there’s more to the gospel than the message of Jesus coming [unclear] born of a virgin healing miracles doing [unclear] and rising from the dead for the sins of the world he ascended into heaven he’s coming back again and he poured out his spirit upon the men to build and edify and comfort the church so all of these heard the word how many of you this morning I’ve heard the gospel of Jesus okay well you just did I just gave it to you that is the gospel the good news of Jesus it’s a gospel of righteousness all right these guys didn’t believe on the past.

Is believing the goal of the gospel?

▶ Watch this part (2:52)

Short answer: No. Belief is a process to the goal; demons believe. The goal of the gospel is to be delivered and set free from sin to do good, to live good.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:52 Neither did they receive the word on the pass with joy but the good ground. Did things that the first three let. See these things are lacking in the first three number one it fell on good ground which is a honest and good heart it fell on an honest and good heart. That’s a bit member the goal of the gospel is to be delivered set free from sin to do good remember. Belief is not the goal demons believe and they’re not going to have it belief is a process to the goal and the goal is to do good to live good so these guys when they received they’ve received it with a good heart they wanted to.

What does it mean to come to God with an honest heart?

▶ Watch this part (3:59)

Short answer: The good-ground hearers admitted they were sinners, admitted they needed a Savior, and their intentions were not deceptive. He tells of a young man named David whom God touched at the altar, but he did not want to give up his girlfriend or drugs, and he later overdosed.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:59 Confess their sin term for their sin and do good and they had an honest heart they came honestly they admitted they were sinners they admitted they needed a savior their intentions were honest they were not deceptive let me give you an example. Forty years ago when I was in church at Living Faith in Santa Ana yeah a family member. Brought a another family member to church they had just gotten to an auto accident almost died and they came looking for. Answers. To church I watched that young man he was young man in his early 20s and his girlfriend come to the altar watch that young man pray the sinner’s prayer I watch the spirit of God move up on him broke him tremendously.

▶ 5:00 God came to him with the answer the leading lady very questionable. But I watched God touched that young man they left that day next Sunday they come back and you could tell they were indifferent and anyway they didn’t I didn’t see him anymore after that and then about four months later I get a call saying that David overdosed his name was David. He’s dead and the family wants you to be part of the funeral. See even though God touch David with his convicting presence his spirit the Holy Ghost convict you of sin of righteousness and the judgment to come God’s involved in the salvation process.

▶ 5:58 David did not respond with an honest heart he didn’t want to give up that girlfriend and he didn’t want to give up drugs because the girlfriend still wanted to party. See that’s not an honest heart you got to come to God not to just keep you safe from automobile accidents or whatever you come to God because he’s God. Period amen and that’s an example of dishonest heart I can tell you another story. In the harbor when we had the there there was a couple that came to me and they were from the parole department and the.

What happens when people come to church under false pretenses?

▶ Watch this part (6:44)

Short answer: He tells of a couple sent by the parole department who went through everything, but when the parole period was over she stopped coming. Four years later she had lost her kids anyway; she came with deceit, not an honest heart.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 6:44 Judge ordered them to get secular help or a church help or they’re going to take their kids from them and they’re gonna put them in jail for neglecting their children so they come and I say sure I’ll help you and so forth yeah they went through everything they said the sinner’s prayer as time went by and they got baptized and so forth and then about a year or so later she came up to me she was we have a rotated nursery and she was part of the nursery rotations I can’t be a nursery anymore I’m too busy or real quickly the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said she’s not too busy she just don’t want to be here now the parole period was over and sure enough I never seen her again or the husband until four years later we were doing a park outreach and I saw this woman I would came over to that area to make sure the sound was right and all that and and I did not recognize her as the woman that I knew four years ago she was just totally different just skin and bones and everything and she acknowledged who she was and I go wow I would never have recognized you and she wanted help she went into drugs she

▶ 8:14 lost her kids anyway. See she didn’t come with her honest heart she come with false pretenses she had deceit in her and I said lady our church gave you a lot of help four years ago that’s all we can do you’re gonna have to find somebody else you rejected the very source of the end person that we helped you for we done our part now you’re gonna have to find some other help.

Should you come to God just to save your marriage?

▶ Watch this part (8:50)

Short answer: No. You come to God because you are guilty of sin and need to repent and change. If your marriage stays together because both repent, you are fortunate; if the other one won’t, that is not God’s fault.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:50 I’m not going to enable someone okay. That’s coming together I’ve seen many people come in one in their marriage salt you don’t come in to God wanting your marriage saw you come to God because you are guilty of sin you need to repent you need to change and if your marriage stays together because both of you repent and change then you’re one of the fortunate one if your marriage still falls apart because the other one don’t want to revenge and change you know that’s not God’s fault are you with me you don’t come to God deceitfully you come honestly did we understand that and see these people on good ground had an honest heart from the beginning they were honest about wanting to serve God and repent and do good you see and so these others lack that they understood now these understood up to.

What set the good-ground hearers apart?

▶ Watch this part (9:57)

Short answer: They obeyed the word: when God said pray, they prayed; they read and studied; they went to church; husbands loved their wives and fathers raised their children in the Lord. Their thing was action, so they brought forth fruit.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 9:57 The trials and mistreatment. These understood up to the time of balancing your time between God and natural life but these people understood at all. All right and the big kicker is they obeyed the word when God said prayed they actually pray when God said seek you out of the book of the law and read actually read and study the but they actually went to church because the Bible says forsake not the assembling of yourself together even the more so as you see the day approaching provoking one another to love him to good work they obeyed the work husband love your wife as Christ loved the church they did it wise respect your husband submit to him and love your children husband our fathers raise your children up in the nourish and the nurture and admonition of the Lord so they obeyed the word.

Why does fruit take patience?

▶ Watch this part (10:56)

Short answer: Patience is standing in the midst of mistreatment and difficulties without complaining or retaliating. Like a farmer waiting months for the harvest, you can’t speed up the fruit; it takes time for God to make us fruitful.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:56 They’re their thing wasn’t on belief in faith their thing was action and so what happened they brought forth fruit. But it is important that you finish the sentence they brought forth fruit with what patience see patience is standing there and the midst of mistreatment abuse difficulties without complaining. Without retaliating just waiting now I mean you know when a farmer plants seed in his farm he’s got a patiently wait till the fall he’s got to wait months for that fruit to produce he isn’t rejoicing over the sprout that comes in the ground or the seed that was sown in the ground he is waiting for what the fruit and he has to heart patiently wait and if they’d done their holy and and all that and fertilizing they got a lot of time now on their hands.

What does “saved by hope” mean in Romans 8:24?

▶ Watch this part (11:59)

Short answer: Hope is expectation: you expect God to do what He said, because you don’t have it yet. You don’t see God or the second coming yet, and you may not see the fruit of love, joy or self-control in your life yet, but God promised it.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 11:59 So they got a part patiently wait. You can’t speed up the fruit and you can’t do it in the kingdom it takes time for God to make us fruitful could that be an amen and so we need patience now I hardly ever hear anyone preach on this scripture Romans 8:24 you are saved by hope hope is expectation you expect God to do what he said he would do you expect it and the reason you’re expecting is because you don’t have it yet and I write the farmer is expecting the corn to produce corn ears at the end of it the tomato plant to produce beautiful red ripe tomatoes that’s what he’s expecting he don’t see it yet.

▶ 12:56 But he’s expecting it. You’re saved by hope for that which we see not you see you don’t see ternal life no man has seen God you don’t see God you know the atheist a back to counter you and belittle using which omigod show me got what the Bible says no man has seen God. We won’t see him till we die and go to heaven or he comes back again then we will see him all right that’s where hope comes in we expect to see him we don’t see the second return of Christ that everybody’s missing all the time because he is not coming until certain things are fulfilled. The scripture said that.

▶ 13:49 Judah and Israel will see eye to eye when the Lord returns to build up Zion Jesus prayed the prayer father make them one as you and I are one it’s the church in unity of doctrine today come on folks there’s something spectacular coming on this earth to separate the church from the people to draw in the people amen we saw Israel become a nation but we haven’t seen and that was prophesied but we haven’t seen Israel turn back to God and it says that they will be grafted back in to the olive tree we haven’t seen that it’s hard to get a Jew to repent and turn to God and accept Christ and so we haven’t seen the second coming and these people that think they know all about it they don’t know nothing because the Bible says no one knows.

▶ 14:44 So back off could that be an amen and we like to get all hyped up about it but the thing of it is you better get ready for a long life here all right so we don’t see the end of the world yet and you may not see the fruit of joy in your life yet you may not see the fruit of love in your life yet the fruit of the spirit love joy peace you may have no peace at all you may be tore meaning tormenting yourself and everybody around you. You don’t see it yet but God promised it are you with me you don’t see yourself having self control which is a fruit of the spirit you lose control but God promised it so you have the heart.

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

Can you become a mature Christian overnight?

▶ Watch this part (15:38)

Short answer: No. There is no microwave popcorn in the kingdom; there is growth, like a baby that gradually grows. Don’t give up on yourself, and don’t let Satan trick you into giving up.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 15:38 Hope the expectation that if I patiently wait and I keep following God and keep going to church and worship and seeking him he will give me self-control. That’s why patience is so important. Don’t give up on yourself and don’t let Satan trick you into giving up on yourself because you didn’t popcorn into christianity there is no microwave popcorn in the kingdom there is growth like a baby that baby gradually grows. Amen. Then with patience they wait for it we’re waiting for Christ’s return we’re waiting for the sons of God to be manifest we’re waiting for this glorious church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing we’re waiting for God to do these things and we’re waiting for him as I pursue him to everybody can have every fruit of the spirit you can’t have every gift the one is given us a gift the wisdom to another gift of word or knowledge to another the gift of healing to another tongue to another interpretation and so forth but when it comes to the fruit everybody can have the fruit of the spirit and this to me is for the pentecostal circles that I got saved in and grew up in missed it they emphasize gifts especially tongues and totally.

Who are the blessed in Luke 11:28?

▶ Watch this part (17:08)

Short answer: Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it. Keeping it is loving God, and the whole Bible is wrapped up in two commandments: love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 17:08 Neglected the fruit of the spirit which is the good works that shines to all men and brings glory to God are you there. We like the hype stuff don’t we oh yeah. So patience is very important. Be patient with yourself be patient with God Luke 8:11 28 blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it. See that’s the ones that are blessed and what are they going to be blessed with the fruit of the spirit remember. Keeping it is loving God Jesus said they that love me if they keep it my word loves me alright and what word do we keep do you remember how to understand the whole Bible in two commandments love God with all your heart soul mind and strength or ability and love your neighbor as yourself.

▶ 18:18 Love works no harm to his neighbor so the whole book is how you can relate to God and how you can relate to those around you by doing good to go and doing good to those around you don’t tell me after this message that you’d understand the Bible you do and when you read Genesis 1 and Revelations the last chapter and in between it’s all about showing you in detail how to do good to God and how to do good to yourself and your neighbor amen now you can go and say I understand the Bible. You may not have read it and 35 times like I haven’t studied it for hours but you can understand the Bible because it’s wrapped up in those two commandments in that beautiful so even the least educated person can understand the Bible.

What comes out of a good or evil heart?

▶ Watch this part (19:23)

Short answer: A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things; an evil man out of the evil treasure brings out hurtful things that hurt himself and others.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 19:23 Now. Jesus Christ counter-attack to Satan’s secret weapon. What Jesus Christ answer to these. Weapons that Satan uses to keep us from free and fruitful in. Matthew 12:35 a good man out of the good treasure of the heart see these are on the good ground. Bring forth good things make sense yeah an evil man out of the evil treasure. Brings out hurtful things things that hurt himself and others. And it doesn’t use the word heart that’s very interesting. Because the heart is that mind will emotions and moral standard of your spiritual man that’s inside you you have a spirit inside you that can think you have a spirit inside you then also has emotions as well as the physical body has a mind are you with me very interesting.

Is there hope for believers on the path, the rock or among thorns?

▶ Watch this part (20:38)

Short answer: Yes. Jesus will raise up and restore those lacking a good heart; Satan has no counterattack for that. God says He will restore health and heal your wounds, even when they call you an outcast.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 20:38 So my question is obviously these people here are. Harmful people aren’t they. So is there hope for those still in the past still on the rock and still among thorns. What can they expect and I answered yes Jesus will raise up and restore those lacking a good heart and this is what Satan can’t do a can’t there’s no counter-attack for him he’s got one steady attack just don’t understand get him distracted don’t understand get him distracted but Jesus comes and he has a counter-attack. Jeremiah 30 verse 17 I will restore health and to you and I will heal you of your wounds because they call you an outcast you call yourself a Christian you know you mess up how many mess up yeah I’ve got some honest people here today and boy if you got a if you got somebody that hates Christian you call yourself a Christian see when a cup because you’re lacking of fruit because you’re lacking something there you a new Christian and Satan comes along he’s always telling you’re not a Christian if you listen to him I just never I just learned never to listen to it so.

▶ 22:07 He says I’m gonna restore I’m gonna return you to health I’m not gonna give up on you on the path I’m not gonna give up on you on the rock I’m not going to give up on you among thorns I am going to return you to the healthy good ground attitude of honesty amen. And I’m gonna heal you of your wounds have been wounded by people haven’t been wounded by Christians oh man they they can really slash you up. You see he said I’m gonna heal you and I’m gonna return health to you because they call you an outcast because you got some flaws in your life and yes they can see your flaws but I see your potential and the power of my word that can perform what I said it would do and if we keep seeking him and we keep following him and we keep getting up he will heal us but we got a lot patiently wait for that.

Can God restore the years the locusts have eaten?

▶ Watch this part (23:17)

Short answer: Yes. Even if you neglected God for several years, if you patiently wait and keep serving God, He will restore what was eaten, like you never missed one year of fruit.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 23:17 Joel 2:25 I will restore to you the years the locusts the cankerworm palmerworm and caterpillar has eaten. Not only do we have Satan trying to get us not to understand the word we got these varmints he sins amongst us that. Eat the sprout that comes up out of the ground. They eat the bud that comes on the sprout and if it’s a fruit tree they eat the bud of the fruit and so not only that even after we’re on good ground we got these. Other enemies that want to prevent us from bringing forth fruit and he says I’ll restore what the years that they’ve eaten you came into them.

▶ 24:17 You-you-you caved in and he stopped following me in you did some things wrong and you did it for several years how many neglected God for several years and we got a pretty honest congregation today I’m telling you I’m not used to this most of the time we live through our teeth not me I’m good I’m good he joe to you you see we. We didn’t stop believing in Christ we just didn’t serve we went through a dry a bad time the palmer worm-eaten and then and they eat the bud so it doesn’t bring forth fruit so again we got the what patiently wait for it now this palmer worm cankerworm and caterpillar and locust locust are grasshoppers that swarm.

▶ 25:09 The palmer worm is a larva of a moth they lay their egg and then a larva comes out and eats away. A. Scripture used this not just external use it external as nation as people that he sends among us to straighten us out. But he also uses it internal. Internal that means those in your family those in the church do we have that in America today an internal. Opposition in the church world do we oppose one another yeah. Does it happen in the family oh yeah. Patiently wait you just hang in there and keep serving God he will restore what that means is the leaves and the bugs that these guys have eaten and robbed you a fruit they will be restored like you never missed one year of fruit.

Scripture (NKJV)

Does Jesus only save unbelievers, or does He restore the fallen?

▶ Watch this part (26:22)

Short answer: Jesus is not just interested in saving those who don’t believe; He is interested in raising up and restoring those who have fallen. Keep going to church, learn the Bible, pray, fast and pay your tithe.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 26:22 Hallelujah that’s how powerful God is. Isaiah 49:6 it is a light thing that you should be my servant talking this is God talking to Jesus I brought this out last summer. You’re gonna be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob Jacob is the father of the twelve sons the patriarchs and Jacob’s name was turned to Israel father of nations so that’s God’s people I’m going to you’re gonna be my servant to raise up put back up on their feet. Why would excuse me why weren’t they on their feet because remember at the at the mistreatment and the trials they stumbled they fell down they missed the mark he said I’m gonna pick you back up on your feet all right and I’ll restore the besieged of Israel the enemy has come in like a flood he’s trying to distract you destroy you and he says I will restore the the siege of turn back from harm.

▶ 27:40 My people amen powerful so is he going to neglect even if you’re on the path and the rock and in the thorns today even if the cankerworm and the palma worm that a locust has has has ruined areas in your life does God still. Going to finish the good work he begun in you. Amen but you got a what. Patiently wait for it say it patiently wait for it keep doing what God said to do go to church learn the Bible pray at home study your Bible at home fast once a week it’s not gonna kill you geez. pay your tithes you want to rebuke the devourer pay your tithe the simple things work do you know the only thing you can test God in is tithe.

▶ 28:41 Otherwise you’re not allowed to test God you can’t say God perform something. But he says prove me you can test me you can prove me you give your tithe and see if I won’t rebuke the devourer over your family over your finances over your spiritual life is that an amen hallelujah. Yes I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles the unbeliever that you will be my salvation to the ends of the earth so Jesus is not just interested in saving those who don’t believe in him he is interested in raising up and restoring those who have fallen amen those on the pathway I call the doctrines of men the pathway is where men walk and I know men have a lot of doctrine the Bible says about winds of doctrine and doctrines of men and you know the Bible is a book of mists the Bible has contradictions and how can all those animals fit into the ark and I even go on and on and on how can Jesus be God how can you know are you there once saved always saved and I can go on and on and on and on and on doctrines of men and so when the word comes we got all these doctrines especially if we’re into some cult or or some.

▶ 30:02 Intellectual approach the things we got so many doctrines in our mind the word can’t get through but God doesn’t stop he just keeps bringing it amen he is going to help you get through and sift through all these doctrines of men and winds of doctrines oh yeah this is the hard heart of course I know no one in this room had a hard hard stubborn but some of us did and he has to soften that heart and water softens a heart what are the word water the spirit softens a heart I highly recommend getting filled with the Holy Ghost he is the water of God that can convict you of sin righteous he can soften you up to accept the things that you think are too hard amen and don’t forget the water of the word also softens you up all right so that is God’s counter-attack to Satan don’t ever think God is through with you because you’re a hard head.

▶ 31:11 You have doubts about the word and all this stuff God will keep if you keep pursuing him he will make you fruitful how many want the fruit of the spirit love joy peace long-suffering gentleness meekness self-control yam and self-control that was a well I saw that up a good one I loo what did I lack self-control man. You want to bash me I’m gonna bash you back. Yeah you want to talk bad about me I’m come [unclear].
