Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Jesus taught with authority and backed His words with power. The Beatitudes show how to approach God and possess the kingdom: poor in spirit, hungry for righteousness, meek like Moses, merciful and glad in persecution.
How does the service open?
Short answer: Psalm 95—come let us sing to the Lord—worship, and prayer recalling Cornelius and all who sought Peter.
▶ 0:01 Good morning and welcome to vine cluster church. We are going to go over the scriptures this morning in Psalms 95. It reminds us and says oh come let us sing to the Lord let us shout joyfully can you shout unto Jesus. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving the Bible says that just coming to church and it shows for to the world that people are gathering in his name very important. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving are you sad are you upset you got problems in life everybody does but when you come to these doors you can be thankful to God for something. And when you do that it’s a powerful powerful experience that happens in your life let us shout joyfully to him with Psalms again shout can you hear and shout again.
▶ 1:04 Amen. For the Lord is great. He is a great guy come let us worship and bow down let us kneel before the Lord our maker he is our God and we are the people of his pastor and the sheep of his hand amen. Last week we reminded everyone you know the scriptures say to believe he who believes in him will have eternal life and we’re reminded that we got to believe in all of him the shepherd the king the Lord the savior. We remember that. In first Corinthians 14:3 says he who prophesies speaks edification exhortation and comfort to men but if all prophesy and an unbeliever or uninformed person comes in he is convinced by all he is convicted by all so this morning we also want to remember that vine cluster church we have uh ties to a uh.
▶ 2:18 The Holy Spirit being filled with the Holy Spirit we have ties to prophecy the prophecy that edifies and builds the church we do these things we want to exercise these things they are in the scriptures. So this morning I encourage you in between songs. It’s good to prepare and bring something but if God puts something on your heart there will be time in between songs where we’re praising God we have an opportunity to praise God you can use it as an opportunity to prophesy unto. God and encourage build up the body this morning so with that I invite you to stand as you begin worship and thank you again for joining us let’s worship together. Oh I gotta feel it everything’s gonna be all.
▶ 3:30 All. You’re standing at a mountain. That you know you cannot find. There’s no need to run away. There’s a voice. I dare to believe. That miracles happened. Don’t be afraid stand up and say I dare to believe.
▶ 4:32 There’s a miracle inside you. It’s just a mustard seed of faith. By the mighty hand of God. Deep inside you. Come breaking through the ground. So dare to believe. That miracles happen. That mountain is still. So don’t be afraid stand up and say I dare to believe.
▶ 5:28 There’s miracle inside you. It’s just a mustard seed of faith. But by mighty hand. They can never keep you down. There’s a voice that’s deep inside you. Calm breaking through the ground. So dare to believe. That miracles happen. That mountain is still blue. And. Be to stand demons up and say I dare to believe God that.
▶ 6:33 Don’t be is. Stand up and say I dare to believe. Look what the Lord has done. Look what the Lord has done. He touched my mind he saved me just in time oh I’m gonna praise his name. These days. Come on and praise him what the Lord has done. Look what the Lord has done what the Lord has done what the Lord has done. Each day is just the same.
▶ 7:30 Come on and praise him what the Lord has done. Oh a lame man was sitting outside the gate making arms for those who were in. And Peter and John came upon him the lame man was expected from him. Silver Peter said to wrinkle have I not but such as. Look what the Lord has done. He and my body he touched my mind he saved me just. It’s just the same.
▶ 8:28 I want to praise him with what the Lord has done. Oh God’s not dead he is alive. Me. I feel him all over me.
▶ 9:46 But I got it. And something about the holy. I can’t explain but I got it. He is alive God’s.
▶ 10:58 He is. We is you Jesus hallelujah. Oh.
▶ 12:20 Let the spirit of God give you some wisdom and some understanding. Christ chose 12 men. And gave them authority to cast out demons heal the sick and to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. But when Jesus. Was arrested and nailed to that cross they all scattered and ran. Peter denied Christ three times. But after the resurrection Jesus brought those same 11 apostles back to him and he opened their understanding to understand the scriptures. And then he filled them with the power of the Holy Spirit to be witnesses unto him to the ends of the earth. And church listened to the wisdom of the spirit of God.
▶ 13:15 After they had their understanding opened and after they were filled with the power of the Holy Ghost you never find recorded that these apostles ever left Christ again ever had a nervous breakdown ever committed some kind of hell sin and never ran off with the church secretary or any of these things that you hear of today and the spirit of God would say unto you that the spirit. Baptism. Is a baptism of truth for his name is the spirit of truth and he will guide you into all truth and he will be Jesus will baptize you in the power of the Holy Ghost and you will be like those apostles who were never moved again to depart from Jesus Christ.
▶ 14:18 Jesus Christ. Jesus. We. Make your spirit rise within me. Let your spirit rise within me. You set my feet and dancing my heart rejoice in my mouth singing out your brain. Let your spirit rise within me.
▶ 15:10 Let your spirit rise within me you set my feet at dancing my heart rejoicing my mouth singing out your brain oh let your spirit rise within me. I’ll let your spirit rise within me you set my feet at dancing my heart rejoicing my mouth singing out your brain. For you alone are great God and worthy to be praised. You alone are great. And worthy to be praised. My heart rejoicing my mouth.
▶ 16:09 Let your spirit rise within me. Let your spirit rise within me you set my feet and dancing my heart rejoicing my mouth singing. Our great God worthy to be praised. You alone are great. And. Let your spirit rise within me you set my feet at dancing my heart rejoicing my mouth singing out your praise. Let your spirit rise within me. Let your spirit rise within me you set my feet at dancing my heart rejoicing my mouth singing out your brain my mouth singing out your brains.
▶ 17:13 My mouth singing out your praise. Your praise we praise you Lord. Thank you thank you thank you Jesus. Fill us with your spirit God fill us with your Spirit Lord. The psalmist wrote.
▶ 18:14 I saw the wicked. Live without any problems. They prospered they had health. And I saw that many of God’s people were going through problems and difficulties. And the psalmist said I understood it not I didn’t understand how this could be. Until he went into the house of the Lord and when he went to the house of the Lord where God said there I will meet with you and there I will speak to you then the psalmist came out of the house of the Lord understanding that God was saving the wicked for the end when he would judge them and he would bless his people going through their trials and tribulations oh church of the living God it is not just something small when you assemble together when you assemble together you are my house and there I will meet with you and there I will speak with you I will open your understanding I will fill you with the power of the Holy Spirit and you will walk in this world as a son of God knowing where you are going and being a light to everyone around you oh enter in says the Lord worship him pray to him seek him and you will find him.
▶ 19:56 Every praises to our God. Every word of worship in one a core. Every praise. Every praise. Is to our gods. Is. Is to our God. Sing hallelujah to our God oh glory hallelujah.
▶ 20:53 To our God. Every praise. Every praise. Is to our God. God my savior. God. Yes he is. Every praise. Is to our God. Every word of worship in one a core. Every praise. Every praise is to our God.
▶ 21:51 Hallelujah. Sing hallelujah. To our God oh glory hallelujah. To our God. Every praise. Every praise. Every word of worship in one. God my savior. God my savior.
▶ 22:45 God my healers. Yes he is. Yes he is. Every word of worship in one a court. Every praise. Every. Praises to our God. Lord we worship you. We. Jesus.
▶ 23:40 Your praise. Jesus. By him you are enriched in everything. In all speech and all knowledge. Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you so that you’re not lacking in any gift while waiting for the Revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will strengthen you to the end so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ God is faithful and by him you were called to the fellowship of his son the Lord Jesus Christ first Corinthians 5:9 amen.
▶ 24:52 Great. Is a Lord and most worthy of praise. In the city of our God the holy place. Is the Lord in whom we have the victory. He ate us. Lord we want to lift your name on high. Lord we want to thank you for the work you’ve done in our lives Lord we trust in your unfailing love.

▶ 32:46 The angel came and told them to go seek out Peter and laura when they all came it was not just Cornelius but everybody that came with Cornelius and sought to get an answer receive the Holy Spirit Jesus. God when we seek after you God you’re true to your word you come and you fill us with your spirit God like the prayer and that song says Jesus here’s our cup God we pray that you fill us. Lord fill us with your spirit Jesus. God we seek for that this morning we ask for that this morning Jesus. And God Lord we will keep seeking you until we get filled with your spirit again we thank you Jesus. In your wonderful name everyone said amen.
Scripture in this part
Psalm 95:1 (NKJV)
Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
— Psalm 95:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:01 (quoted; reference not named in the message)1 Corinthians 1:5-6 (NKJV)
that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,
— 1 Corinthians 1:5-6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 23:40 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What have we learned so far?
Short answer: Jesus went to people, involved believers, called sinners to repent, and came in demonstration of Spirit and power.
▶ 33:42 You may find your seats this morning. And invite Pastor Kincer. Share God’s word. It’s good to be in God’s house amen. Wow. How encouraging it is presence and spirit of God amen. Good morning everyone. Uh we’ve been talking about a typical Jesus gathering at Jesus church service. We found at the beginning that Jesus went to the synagogues where they didn’t like him he went to the temple where the priest wanted to kill him. He went to the villages and the towns he went to foreign nations decapitalis and uh seraph phoenicia.
▶ 34:38 And he also had them come to him. And we found that he involved believers how many of you are believers amen. Only four of us. Wow. Anyway. The promise is unto believers. He said believers can speak in tongues believers can lay hands on the sick and they will be healed. Amen believers can cast out demons and believers will be protected from the dangers of this life whether it’s bad food or wild animals he will protect us. Believers have a key. To the things of God not just apostles evangelists and pastors and teachers.
▶ 35:30 His goal we found was he come to the earth to invite sinners to repent. Sinners to repent change their thinking and turn to him and do right bring forth the fruit of repentance he come to save that which was lost if you have lost your salt flavor he’ll restore it if you have lost the light to the world he’ll restore it if you have lost your faith he’ll restore it he come to restore. Whatever you’ve lost don’t quit. Get up. Hallelujah. And he come to give us abundant life both now in this world and in the world to come the spirit world and he come to judge regardless of what they tell you out there Jesus said I did come to judge and my judgment is just.
▶ 36:29 Amen did he call sinners sinners. Yes did he call the priests who and the scribes and the Pharisees who weren’t really serving God that they were two times more they were converting people two times more the child of hell than themselves yes he made a judgment. Hallelujah so he came for these reasons we found also in his in the last message that his basic message was to repent. Bring forth the fruit believe on him follow him come to him. And he would back it up with demonstration. Of the spirit and power wow. Paul said I don’t come to you with men’s intellect. It’s not my great ability to put a message together it’s not my great ability to speak.
How did Jesus teach in the greatest sermon?
Short answer: With authority, not like the scribes, and backed it up with performance.
▶ 37:26 It’s the spirit and power I come. And demonstration of it with the healings and the demons cast it out in the miracles. Today we’re going to take a look at the greatest sermon the greatest speech. That most people. Recognize as the greatest even if they’re not Christians is the sermon on the mount we’re going to take a look at the beginning of it and before we go to the beginning I want to take you to the end of the sermon on the mount. At the end in Matthew 7:29 it says Jesus taught with authority. Jesus taught and he had the power to back up and perform.
▶ 38:20 What he said not like the scribes and the Pharisees not like me not like you. When he taught he taught with authority. And backed it up with the performance. Hallelujah. This is important this is what it says at the end of this sermon on the mount it also says that the congregation there which was thousands. Was amazed. They were moved they were stirred in their thinking in their spirit many of them followed they turned and they followed Christ and some didn’t. But all of them were stirred. They were affected by the authority.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 7:28-29 (NKJV)
And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
— Matthew 7:28-29 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 37:26 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What mistakes does he see in Killing Jesus?
Short answer: Bill O’Reilly missed the supernatural Jesus and called Him a stone cutter, not a carpenter.
▶ 39:13 Of the word that he spoke. Oh they’re very powerful. Very very powerful. Now. Bill O’Reilly wrote a book called Killing Jesus. I liked it I read it but he made some mistakes in it and his mistakes were trying to figure out spiritual things with the intellectual mind. You can’t do that he said that the people could not hear Jesus talk and his teaching because they didn’t have a pa system. Now you’re telling me that the Jesus that opened blinded eyes open deaf ears raised the dead could not project his voice to the last person in that crowd come on I go bill you’re missing it you can’t rely on intellect.
▶ 40:12 Jesus Christ is supernatural. And they hurt. He also made a mistake by saying Jesus was a stone cutter not a carpenter. And he said the reason he was a stone cutter is no trees grew in that area. I go billy. The Bible says they imported wood. Did you read the Bible for this they imported the wood to make the temple they imported the wood to make things cheese yes he was a carpenter one new stone cutter. And it don’t matter what he was he’s the son of God he is God he is the savior he’s everything amen. So I want to prove that they came not to be o’reilly said they just came for the miracles no he is very wrong Jesus did more teaching than anything.
Why did crowds press on Him?
Short answer: To hear the word of God, not opinion—paying attention to every word.
▶ 41:12 You look at the scriptures and you’ll see it’s right so. To prove it Luke 5:11 just just Luke the people pressed upon him to what hear the word of God not somebody’s opinion to hear the word of God in Luke 15:2 all the tax collectors and all the sinners drew near to him to hear him they weren’t offended when he said you’re a sinner they didn’t get offended they were glad to hear that they could repent that they could be forgiven. But the Pharisees and scribes they complained they were offended. He didn’t preach it right. Yeah Luke 19:48 all the people were very attentive.
▶ 42:06 To hear him they weren’t there talking with each other they weren’t there having a picnic out on the mountain they were there paying attention to every word he said. Powerful isn’t it. Luke 21:38 all the people came early in the morning they got out of bed before work to come down to the temple to hear Jesus Christ teach. So Bill O’Reilly you need to read your Bible. The common people heard him gladly aren’t you glad you’re a common person. Now. Let’s get into the sermon on the mount. Teaching with authority.
Scripture in this part
Luke 5:1 (NKJV)
So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret,
— Luke 5:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 41:12 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does poor in spirit mean?
Short answer: Not material poverty—flesh and blood can’t inherit the kingdom; it is knowing you are poor toward God and hungry for Him.
▶ 43:05 These. Scriptures are going to tell us how to approach God. And how to possess his promises. In the kingdom of God all right there’s a way to approach God. And there are promises that you can possess. He starts off he gets up to the mountain the Bible says and when he was set when he was ready he taught them saying and this is the first thing he said blessed are the poor in spirit. For theirs is the kingdom of God is is a mathematical term for equal poor in spirit equals the kingdom of God now I don’t know about you but when I read my Bible that stirred me just like it said at the end of the sermon on the mount and the first thing that I thought it was people that were poor.
▶ 44:10 They have the kingdom and it was a it is still a big teaching it was a big teaching especially down south. When I was growing up and it is a big teacher now that spirituality is poverty. And it’s not in the Bible. Being poor in spirit is totally different than being poor in your natural world okay. So blessed means to be happy. Blessed means to be invid they want what you got don’t you want to be a Christian if people want what you got hallelujah. And well-off and fortunate are those that are poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven now we know the Bible says the kingdom of heaven is righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Ghost and power in the Holy Ghost we know that and there’s other things in the kingdom besides those four so the poor in spirit they possess the righteousness.
▶ 45:14 Which a lot of Christians say you can’t be righteous. You got to sin they tell you before your sinners are going to hell and you need forgiven and you need Jesus the savior and then when you get saved they say you can’t help but sin does that make sense makes no sense and it doesn’t make sense in the Bible. His kingdom is righteousness peace and we’re not in war with God we’re not at war with each other we’re we’re at peace. And joy. Joy. And power. See this Holy Ghost power and the word power in the name of Jesus power okay now so as a young believer I went to find out what was hidden in this verse. All right because Jesus said I come to tell you things that have been hidden from the foundation of the world they’re there in the Old Testament but we just didn’t see him.
▶ 46:20 It says in first Corinthians 15:50 I found that flesh and blood can’t inherit the kingdom of God if flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God then my poverty in the natural world has nothing to do with me possessing the kingdom of God is that an amen. Yeah just good spiritual logical thinking because the flesh and blood could get into the kingdom then people would try to get in by fleshly works and stuff. So. Luke 17:21 says the kingdom of God is within you wow. It’s within us it’s a spiritual kingdom dealing with the spirit of man in job it says. There is a spirit in man. The Bible says we’re a maid spirit body and soul we have an eternal spirit within us.
▶ 47:20 So we can be what poor in spirit. If we’re not rich toward God spiritually we are what poor. Toward God spiritually. And I know many Christians that are very poor spiritually. A lot of it is they don’t read and study themselves so they go to a church that teaches the same stuff every year and they have just been corralled into a belief that hinders the expansion of truth in their life did you understand that statement yeah. So poor in spirit is being poor in spirit. Then I found that this statement was made in the Old Testament Isaiah 66 verse 2.
▶ 48:13 God spoke of this before Jesus said it. To this man will I look God said to him that is poor. Of spirit. And a contrite broken spirit and trembles at my word what happened at the end of the sermon on the mount they were amazed they were stirred. See. They were impacted by the word that was spoken. Hallelujah. And that’s why you become a Christian that word impacts you that word changes your thinking. You cannot approach God with a human intellect it’s got to be God revealing himself to you spiritually do you understand that church.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 5:3 (NKJV)
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 5:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 43:05 (quoted; reference not named in the message)1 Corinthians 15:50 (NKJV)
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
— 1 Corinthians 15:50 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 46:20 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Isaiah 66:2 (NKJV)
For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist,” Says the LORD. “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.
— Isaiah 66:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 48:13 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does the poor widow show?
Short answer: She came to the temple to give and hear, not to get—hungry for spiritual things, unlike prosperity preachers.
▶ 49:09 Now. So we find that the poor in spirit was in the Old Testament. So then if you just simply go to the poor widow who came to the temple and Jesus saw her casting in two mites which was all of her livelihood. That’s all the money she had. And she put it in the offering. And Jesus said she was a poor widow she was lacking in natural things. And he says this poor widow cast out more cast in more than all who had abundance. And because she cast all of her livelihood in she didn’t have any more money to buy any. Food but she gave it. She came to the temple folks to give what God asked her to get.
▶ 50:08 Not to get anything. Are you listening to that statement. Didn’t Jesus didn’t the Bible in the Old Testament tell them to come to worship God in the temple yes. Come to pray in the temple come to give for forgiveness and brought for sacrifices for sin in the temple she came to give. She didn’t come to get anything. She had clothes she didn’t ask for clothing from the temple. She had food she didn’t go there for food. She had medicine. She didn’t go there to get him to give her some money for medicine and she didn’t go for counseling. I just letting it sink in.
▶ 51:03 She went to bring. An offering unto God that God asked and that’s prayer. Well let me say this first she like money for daily survival that she knew she’d have to work for the next day. Okay she didn’t have any savings account or anything she had to live from day to day. The poor in spirits seek for daily spiritual needs. Spiritual needs they had yesterday. But those spiritual needs. Are needed today. Just because you ate a meal yesterday your body still needs what a meal today just because you had clothing yesterday you need what clothing today and in the winter time you need winter clothing summertime you need summer clothing.
▶ 52:07 And so it is in the spirit. We need to eat daily of spiritual things and this is what this widow came to the temple to do not like Benny Hinn and some of these uh prosperity teachers saying but she gave all she had and God was going to bless her life you just give me your money and God’s going to bless your life how many of you know they never give their money. Give all you have they never give all they have it’s always you give to us anyway. Don’t be dubbed for that stuff. She came to offer prayers she came to offer worship she came to give her ties. And two pennies is tough to tithe on so she just threw both pennies in.
▶ 53:00 She come to hear the word of God which God said to come to the temple for she didn’t come to get anything but more understanding of God more blessing of God by offering unto him the spiritual sacrifices he asked us to offer amen the fruit of our lips giving thanks and prayer unto him. Spiritual things. Poor are in need of see we we we need spiritual things and we need them. The poor need food and clothing and shelter in the natural the poor in spirit need. The word of God the presence of God the power of God. Hallelujah. So he starts off with a bang. Jeez so if you approach God.
Scripture in this part
Mark 12:42-44 (NKJV)
Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”
— Mark 12:42-44 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 49:09 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Who is promised the kingdom?
Short answer: The hungry for righteousness and those persecuted for it; the kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
▶ 53:55 Poor in spirit humble in spirit that you are hungry for spiritual things. Do you hear me you are hungry and thirsty for spiritual things he is going to give you the kingdom which is righteousness peace and joy and power in the Holy Ghost and he has the power to back up his word and perform it. Hallelujah. And if you choose anything less than that that’s your choice it’s not God’s choice. He goes on to say blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake now the kingdom of God is righteousness peace and joy.
▶ 54:47 And power in the Holy Ghost here we see righteousness. You’re persecuted they’re mistreated because you’re living right you stand for right you speak right. Theirs is the kingdom of heaven same thing same reward as those that are poor in spirit. Amen. They have the righteousness peace and joy blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. There it is again that’s uh that’s almost identical to the first one poor in spirit blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness they shall be filled you know most Christians do not read their Bible. The word of God the bread of God. Only 15 of Christians when I did a survey decades ago read the Bible regularly.
▶ 55:41 They don’t pray regularly. They don’t worship regularly. And yet they believe. That they have these things that you can only have through approaching God correctly. Could that be an amen we approach God with righteousness. And we get the kingdom of God. We hunger and thirst for righteousness we’re going to be filled with righteousness. Blessed are the pure in heart there it is again righteousness for they shall see God no man has seen God at any time the word there means you experience God you encounter God you know God isn’t this eternal life Jesus said to know God the father and his son Jesus Christ see that’s power when he comes and reveals himself to you you feel that power.
▶ 56:47 You feel that God is invisible but you can feel spiritually his presence. And some people go nuts when it comes you know but he comes to open our understanding he comes to change us could that be an amen. By nuts I mean they do all kind of contortions. Now blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted. You know your spouse leaves you that’s a sad time God is going to come and comfort you during that time and strengthen you your child dies that’s a mournful time he’s going to come and comfort you you’re not by yourself during these times of sorrow. Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 5:6 (NKJV)
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
— Matthew 5:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 53:55 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Matthew 5:10 (NKJV)
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 5:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 54:47 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Romans 14:17 (NKJV)
for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
— Romans 14:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 54:47 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What is meekness?
Short answer: Not passivity—Moses was the meekest yet ground the golden calf to powder; that is standing up for God.
▶ 57:45 Now as a young Christian. I connected this to turning the other cheek. That’s what I did I connected it to turn the other cheek going the extra mile. You want my coat okay here’s my underwear too. And boy was I so far off. When you search out the meek. It is people that stand for God when the crowd is going the other way. Moses was the meekest man in the Old Testament. And yet he stood up against two and a half million people when they decided to do wrong he stood for right.
▶ 58:41 And the Bible says he was the meekest are you there. When they made a golden calf he come off that mountain he beat that calf into tiny pieces and threw it in the water and said drink it. And that causes diarrhea. And he was the meekest man. In the Old Testament the meekest man in the New Testament of course is Jesus Christ he comes into the house of God and they’re in there making merchandise of the house of God man he whipped them he turned over their tables he beat him out of the house of God. He did it twice. They didn’t learn the first time he come back through again later and did it again. I mean let’s not turn in the other cheek.
▶ 59:34 That’s not going the extra mile that’s standing up for God. And when they wanted to kill him before his time to die he didn’t go okay whatever you want he walked right through their mist. Are you there church are you meek enough to stand for God when your friends and your family want to go a different direction. That’s meekness. Can I hear an amen doesn’t the Bible say you will reign in life by one Christ Jesus amen we don’t have to wait for the rapture we have to wait to go to heaven we can rule and reign now we are more than conquerors in this world now the Bible said amen. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy when you’re kind and mannerly to people God’s going to be kind and mannerly to you whether people are or not.

Short answer: Forgive others their trespasses and He forgives yours.
▶ 1:00:33 If you’re willing to forgive people of their trespasses. Jesus is willing to forgive you of yours that’s why kindness mercy is you know you’re not ready to annihilate them. Blessed are the peacemakers. They shall be called the sons of God there’s that peace righteousness. Power peace. Peace. The church today isn’t very peaceful they fight each other they quarrel with each other Jesus went to the synagogues and the temples they won’t get out of their little chorale. They won’t fellowship with anyone spiritually. Out of their denomination am I right yes in fact if you’re not one of us you’re one of the enemy.

Short answer: Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven.
▶ 1:01:32 We are the select of the elect and you. Aren’t going to make it in. Sectarianism. And as the musicians come blessed are you. When they revile you. They persecute you. And say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake falsely for my sake they’re saying things about you that aren’t true because you’re following me. Rejoice now here’s the joy of the kingdom. Rejoice when people mistreat you. Rejoice. When they talk about you rejoice.
▶ 1:02:29 Be exceedingly glad not just happy not just bless blessed means to be happy be exceedingly glad here. Excel in being glad for great is your reward in heaven for so they persecuted the prophets who will be before you when you live for God. And people mistreat you. God equates that to be an equal with the prophets of the Old Testament. They preached the gospel no matter what and they were beaten and thrown in jail and mistreated and misunderstood. So when you’re going through. Opposition from people what are you supposed to do.
▶ 1:03:23 Rejoice. Rejoice. Rejoice ye children of the Lord. Doesn’t sound normal. The Bible isn’t intellectually normal the Bible is spiritually normal. You know when you’re doing something that is bringing attention to the Christ in you and that’s why you can rejoice. Hallelujah. Now. Remember Christ had such authority. That believers. In him understood at the end of this message these people were understanding they were stirred and they were changed. Their thinking was changed. While others were amazed but continued and their sin continued in the religion and their unbelief.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 5:11-12 (NKJV)
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
— Matthew 5:11-12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:01:32 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why trust Jesus’ words?
Short answer: He taught short, simple, direct statements and has the authority to back them up—grab a scripture for your need.
▶ 1:04:20 He taught simple direct and specific statements all of those statements are so short. Bam. I have to take 20 minutes to teach it to you one thing. But when he teaches. Ah. Remember. Before we go into the Psalm. That Jesus has the power the authority to perform. What he said when he said I’ll be with you to the ends of the world as a young Christian I took that literally. When he said no harm will come nigh you I took that literally I was never scared of the hillside strangler or the stalkers or anybody else I could get on the freeway without fear.
▶ 1:05:27 Because he said. And there is a Bible called the red letter edition. And everything Jesus said while he was here on earth and somehow he wasn’t is in red letters over in Revelation well the truth is the whole Bible’s red letter. But the red letter edition gives you the words Jesus taught and let me tell you when you find phrases. That I have power on earth to forgive sin then he has power on earth to forgive sin if I mess up I go to him I confess it I turn from it and he forgives me bam it’s over let’s keep going are you there. You see he said it. When he says you can rule and reign in life through his apostle by one Christ Jesus then I can rule and reign in life I am more than a conqueror.
▶ 1:06:29 Amen. And whatever you your need is. You find a scripture for it and you hold on to it and Christ has the authority to back it up and meet your need I don’t care what it is. It’s called the red letter edition and we’re going to sing this. That’s the best song I’ve heard coming out of the Christian world in months. Okay. There I was on death row the verse says guilty in the first degree son of God hanging on a hill hell was my destiny. The crowd was shouting crucify. Could have come from these lips of mine.
How does the service close?
Short answer: The song Red Letters, offering prayer, and thanks for the Easter outreach with another church.
▶ 1:07:21 The dirty shame was killing me it would take a miracle. To wash me clean. Then I read. The red letter. And the ground. Began. Started falling. Started falling. As we sing it again whatever you want from God.
▶ 1:08:21 Grab the scripture. And he has the power to perform it if you want something from God today. By the power of Christ stand with us as we sing it. Thank you God. Thank you God. Started falling.
▶ 1:09:30 I became a free man. Sing the verse. Yeah the holy. Then my soul. Began to shake. The spirit of God. Came upon me.
▶ 1:10:23 And I became a free man. That day. Just lifting our hands to him Lord thank you thank you that you have the power to perform. I lift my hands and surrender to you Jesus. Upon me. I’m a free man.
▶ 1:11:21 Today. Sent his only son to die for me. Is. My destiny. When I read. The red letters. In my soul. Began to shake. The spirit of God.
▶ 1:12:14 Upon me. And I became a free. That day. The spirit of God. Came upon me. I became a free man. We worship God thank you Lord thank you. You are wonderful you are brave. Mighty Lord. We worship you. Began to.
▶ 1:13:30 Shake the spirit of God. Came upon me. And I became a new man. For God’s soul love. Oh I will send his only. Son to die for me. His arms spread wide for the whole wide world his arm spread wide where my should be. Jesus changed. My destiny.
▶ 1:14:29 Let’s sing this last time thank you God for red letters. Thank you God. Let’s set up our hands. Those prison walls. Started. I became a free man. I’d like to ask one of our guests this morning to pray closing service and also to pray for the offering.
