From the sermonJesus Christ and Apologetics · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

Pastor David G. Kincer teaches that God doesn’t need defending—we need to preach the gospel. Watching Jesus answer the Sadducees’ trap about marriage in the resurrection, he shows Jesus used Scripture and revelation: we will be like the angels, and “I am the God of Abraham” proves the dead live. Like Job, we can know God personally rather than by intellect.

What war is going on?

▶ Watch this part (0:00)

Short answer: A continual war for you: God, Satan and people who don’t know God all trying to capture you. This message looks at apologetics, Jesus style.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:00 Continue we are in a big warfare for mankind. Everybody is trying to capture you and God is trying to capture you he’s trying to get you on the right side. Satan is trying to get you on the wrong side and people that don’t know God are trying to get you on their side all right so there’s a war continual war for you and you need to know this stuff and understand it so. Today. We will continue. With our teaching on the warfare for mankind and we’re going to look at apologetics.

What is apologetics?

▶ Watch this part (0:56)

Short answer: Arguments defending the Bible and what people believe is true. He recalls a Bible study that listed his own church as a cult, and says young Christians are vulnerable to intellect-based recruiting.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 0:56 Jesus style and maybe you do not know what apologetics is everybody knows its arguments about the Bible and truth trying to defend the Bible and defend the truth and all this and it’s basically what they believe is true. All right it’s also called heresy hunters when I was in Denver. Colorado as a young Christian one of the fellow workers invited me to a weeknight Bible study and I went and they were teaching on cults and they listed the Assembly of God church the church I got saved in the church I got baptized in the church I got filled with the Holy Ghost in as a cult I sit there and [unclear] wow that’s something. So whatever people decide as a cult is a cult so you got to know what a cult is but anyway we have heresy hunters and a lot of young Christians are caught up in this nonsense all right they’re so vulnerable and you know the Jehovah’s Witnesses they get most of their recruits from young Christians that don’t know the Bible that don’t know Jesus yeah and through intellect they capture them so does the Mormon and now we’re going to make a statement does the only supernatural God need defending.

Does God need us to defend him?

▶ Watch this part (2:27)

Short answer: No—preach the gospel and let him do the work: the virgin birth, the kingdom, the miracles, the death, burial and resurrection, and admitting wrong, turning and getting water baptized for the pardon of sin.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 2:27 Does he need us to protect him. Okay or do we just need to preach his gospel and let him do the work yes the gospel folks don’t get distracted from the gospel. Hallelujah the virgin birth the teachings of the kingdom of God that Jesus brought the miracles the death burial the resurrection of Jesus Christ and admitting it wrong turning from wrong and getting water baptized for the pardon of sin is the gospel. Eternal life is the gospel you got me don’t get people get you distracted from that hallelujah now. We’re going to look today that Jesus is going to expose a doctrine of manmade religion.

What does the card trick show?

▶ Watch this part (3:24)

Short answer: Trick questions try to make people look superior; the card was never in the group. Apologetics can deceive you into believing what isn’t the gospel of Christ.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 3:24 Only using what scripture only using what scripture and irrefutable revelation so we’re going to watch Jesus. Answer the apologetic religious people all right look at this quickly do what it says. Was your card missing. Yes. [unclear] some of you are a little slow. Now is your card missing now I look like a magician don’t I wow I look like [unclear] oh yeah that’s what trick questions and statements do they’re trying to justify themselves to look good to look right to look like they’re superior to you alright the truth is your card was never in that group.

▶ 4:52 It wasn’t there to begin with see we deceived you into thinking that and that’s what apologetics do they deceive you into believing what they want you to believe when it’s really not the gospel of Christ that makes sense. alleluia now listen I’ve met Strobel and that other guy on apologetics anyway I’ve met him and they’ve asked me how do you know the Bible is true and I could answer them could you answer them. Without going through history and find it out how many copies of the Bible [unclear] and was Jesus mentioned in any records other than the Bible [unclear] could you answer them I could at a young age.

Why did the religious groups question Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (5:56)

Short answer: Luke 11 and Mark 12: to catch something out of his mouth. Luke 16:15: you are they which justify yourselves before men. Today’s denominations likewise try to prove they’re right.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 5:56 Alleluia. And I’m going to tell you why today are you interested. now in Luke 11 and Mark 12 scribes Herodians and the Pharisees began to push strongly and to provoke Jesus to speak of many things laying wait for him to catch something out of his mouth to entrap him in his word and try to defame him you see that’s their whole purpose now these three scribes Herodians and Pharisees are three of the Bible recorded Jewish religious groups okay including the Sadducees and the Grecians all right and we have the same thing today we have everybody saying they’re Christians yet we got the Baptist the Presbyterian the Lutheran the Catholics the Pentecostals the holy rollers I mean you know you name it we got and every one of them is trying to prove their right.

▶ 7:02 Are you there we have the same thing here nothing new. These groups were out to prove Jesus wrong God himself is in the earth they are trying to prove God’s wrong because God didn’t agree with their doctrines they’re trying to prove he’s wrong now how silly can you get how blind can you get how insensitive and hard-hearted can you be. Got it. Intellect is only part God uses the mind to get you but intellect is not what he uses to get you. Okay. Jesus sums it up in Luke 16:15 to these people [unclear] speaking to them you are they which justify yourself before men now you’re just trying to make people think you are right that’s your whole goal.

What did they really reject?

▶ Watch this part (8:06)

Short answer: Jesus as Messiah and his call to confess, turn from sin and be baptized for pardon; his resurrection, eternal life and miracles. John 3:34: he whom God has sent speaks the words of God.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 8:06 You won’t admit you’re wrong and it’s a diversion from why they rejected listen to this Jesus Christ as the messiah they rejected him they rejected his truth to admit confess your sin turn from those sins and be water baptized for those sins pardoned. To be freed to be forgiven you had to admit you’re wrong turn from that wrong get water baptized for the pardon of sin that’s the gospel church that’s the gospel are you with me and that’s the power of the gospel it’s about eternal life it’s not [unclear] it’s not about knowing every jot and tittle of the word as a young Christian are you with me alleluia.

▶ 9:09 They also rejected his resurrection he said people going to be resurrected and he was going to be resurrected on the third day after he was killed and they rejected that. They rejected eternal life they rejected his miracles oh you do these things by Beelzebub the chief of devils and you doing these things on the Sabbath if you were really of God you wouldn’t be working on the Sabbath I mean that blind man didn’t care it was the Sabbath or not. Amen. John 3:30 for he whom God has sent speaks what the words of God if you’re sent by God you’re only going to speak his word you’re not going to speak your opinion you’re not going to speak your beliefs you’re not going to speak your church doctrine to say you’re sent by God as a minister you are only allowed to speak his truth his word and

Who reveals the hidden things?

▶ Watch this part (10:10)

Short answer: John 4:25: the Messiah will tell us all things. Jesus is King, Prophet and Messiah; not philosophers but Jesus and the Holy Spirit open our understanding of Scripture.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 10:10 he said [unclear] so they weren’t speaking they weren’t sent by God with it. You got this so far now this is a this is a pivotal turning point in your understanding of God if you can get this today you got to take close attention. Chapter 4 verse 25 of John the woman said I know the messiah is coming all right the Jews were looking for the messiah the Christ the anointed one they were looking for the prophet of what God promised to come and they were looking for the king and guess who was all three Jesus was all three he was the king that was coming he was the prophet that was coming that we were supposed to listen to and he was the messiah and she knew that he will tell us all things you see the New Testament tells us there are mysteries hidden things in the Old Testament.

▶ 11:11 See they’re hidden and Jesus came to what teach us all these hidden things. Amen. Alleluia and without Jesus you’re not going to learn the Bible without his Holy Spirit you’re just not going to get it it’s not intellect it’s going to get you there. things of the spirit are revealed [unclear] the spirit. Who opened their understanding after three and a half years of walking with Jesus and twelve apostles who opened their understanding to understand the scriptures was it the apologetics. Was it Socrates or Plato or all these philosophies of that day no it was who Jesus Christ Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit is what’s going to open your understanding it is a supernatural work because he is a supernatural God.

Should Christians be on the defense?

▶ Watch this part (12:13)

Short answer: No. The church is divided on many issues, but one sent from God speaks only God’s word. “I’m not on the defense I’m on the offense”—the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 12:13 [unclear] yeah. And. Jesus said I am he I’m the messiah I’m the Christ they rejected it. Okay they rejected it they rejected it they rejected it today there’s a lot of divisions in the church and everybody’s trying to prove they are right baptism of the Holy Spirit baptism in water baptism into the body of Christ six-day creation assembling together healings and miracles tithing second coming oh God are we ever divided there everybody has their own opinion everybody thinks they’re right female ministers expressions of praise and worship all of these things apologetics try to address and they address it from their knowledge.

▶ 13:14 But he who has sent from God speaks what only the word of God and Jesus is going to use the word and irrefutable revelation to address these guys. Why do you believe what you believe they put you on the defense and I’ll prove there’s a God I said I’m not to prove there’s a God you prove there isn’t one put this back in your court prove the Bible is the is the word of God I have to prove the Bible is the word of God that’s your Job you’re telling me it isn’t give me the proof I can give them the proof. But I only will do it when I know they’re gonna listen oh. Yeah don’t put me on the defense I’m not on the defense I’m on the offense the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church I’m on the offense man don’t give me [unclear] defense I’m not defending God my Bible myself or anybody I know him.

How did the Sadducees try to trap Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (14:23)

Short answer: Matthew 22:23–28: denying resurrection, angels and spirits, they used Deuteronomy 25:5 on a man’s brother marrying his widow, inventing seven brothers: whose wife will she be?

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 14:23 And then. [unclear] get into intellectual discussion with you this is a spiritual thing [unclear]. It’s a trick question to trap Jesus but they never were going to address a question that they’re going to use to trap Jesus but never proving Jesus wasn’t the Christ and they never proved that his doctrine to pardon sin was wrong they didn’t even address it why [unclear]. All they could do is try to defend their beliefs are you with me. Matthew 22:23 and Mark 12 and Luke 20 and Acts 23:8..

▶ 15:15 He talks about the Sadducees this religious group of Jews that thinks they got it all they only believed in the Pentateuch the law that’s all they believed and didn’t believe [unclear] the rest of the book how many met Christians that took some of the Bible out there’s a Christian group that totally throws the Old Testament out totally does. It’s not new these people have always been around. Sadducees these scriptures tell us believe that there is no resurrection no. Angels and no spirits and these Sadducees come to Jesus and they question him they’re interrogating him they’re trying to prove he’s wrong and they use.

▶ 16:11 Their theory of no angel spirits no resurrection using an inheritance scripture in Deuteronomy 25:5 they went to a scripture that refers to your inheritance okay. To try to trap Jesus on. Resurrection. That scripture says if a man die having no children his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed into his brother why because God did not want the inheritance passed to an outside family. That’s what it’s there for. Otherwise you know guys could marry have children he dies and then the wife can go back to her family with the property and it becomes theirs then and God in the Bible says your inheritance belongs to you and your descendants how many want that spiritually in your family you want your spiritual inheritance passed on to your children amen.

▶ 17:20 Yes so they try to use this to trick Jesus. Seven brothers the first married died and didn’t have any children and he left his wife to the next brother so he died and yet she had no children and it happened all the way to the seventh [unclear] the Sadducees said see they’re making this story up they’re creating this scenario. All right they’re making it up all right and none of them had a child and so therefore for this reason in the resurrection Jesus. Whose wives shall she be because every one of them had her for life.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Matthew 22:23-28 (NKJV)

The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, saying: “Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.”

How did Jesus answer them?

▶ Watch this part (18:15)

Short answer: Matthew 22:29: you are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God. They’re offended by the word.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 18:15 Gotcha. Now Jesus comes and he addresses this. Question. this challenge to his [unclear] and Jesus is scripturally going to prove that there’s life after death. He’s going to not only prove there’s life after that he’s going to use the Pentateuch that they believe in to prove there’s life after death. First of all Jesus says you’re mistaken you’re wrong you are in error my friend and not only that Sadducee [unclear] you

▶ 19:10 don’t know the scriptures if you had known the scriptures you wouldn’t ask me this question and not only that you don’t know the supernatural ability and power of God did you hear what Jesus said that. your problem is you’re wrong and you won’t admit it. You don’t know the scriptures. You don’t have a relationship you don’t have an experience with the scriptures and you don’t have an experience with the supernatural ability of God is. That a good response is that politically correct today oh no. Now don’t talk that way you’ll offend them it isn’t me offending them they’re offended by the word. Alleluia. [unclear] folks.

Is there marriage in the resurrection?

▶ Watch this part (20:05)

Short answer: Matthew 22:30; Luke 20:35–36: they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels; those counted worthy cannot die anymore and are children of the resurrection.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 20:05 Alleluia now he’s going to address. The marriage first okay they brought in the marriage and they brought in a resurrection he’s going to address the marriage first he says in the resurrection and the resurrection is supernatural they didn’t believe in it how you don’t die you don’t come back to life [unclear] that’s what the gospel is all about you do die and when that trumpet sounds those ashes those dust particles are going to come up and come back together and be a physical immortal body and your spirits going to rejoin that body and you’re going to live forever an eternity with an immortal body that’s a supernatural power of God and that’s the power the gospel that you can live forever. [unclear] in the resurrection they neither marry or not given in marriage you don’t know the scriptures you don’t know God they don’t marry and given in marriage they’re like the angels of God in heaven.

▶ 21:14 In Luke same same story children of this world marry and they’re given in marriage me and Becky married we had two boys and one day they will get married they marry and given and marriage you see okay through a sexual relationship. Children of this world marry and given in marriage and but look at this but they which shall be accounted worthy say the word worthy. and I submit to you is faith alone make you worthy. Yeah faith without works is dead it abideth alone. It needs the backup of action.

▶ 22:09 It doesn’t do your wife any good for you to believe in God when you’re going out with women and hanging around [unclear] bar and getting drunk spending the money and all that your faith doesn’t help at all does it. Hallelujah. Don’t forget that worthy to obtain that world so there’s this world that we’re in and then there’s the spirit world that we’re going to amen. Two worlds. Even the resurrection from the dead you see in that world your body that died and went to dust is going to be resurrected [unclear] with your spirit. If you’re counted worthy. Alleluia.

Did angels have relations with women in Genesis 6?

▶ Watch this part (23:03)

Short answer: He says no: spirits don’t marry or have sex, and holy angels obey God’s word, so they could not have done that—nor can demons.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 23:03 The Revelation the things hidden that Jesus came to reveal. how many know in first Corinthians 12 it says you can speak by doctrine or [unclear] by knowledge by prophecy or by. Revelation. How many ministers even know that scripture. Most of them speak by doctrine. What they were told in seminary to speak they don’t get on our hands and knees and ask God to open those scriptures up to them are you there. These in the next world neither marry nor are given in marriage there’s no sex or relationships in the spirit world the spirit doesn’t need sex to.

▶ 24:05 Expand to multiply. God made the angels just like he made the earth by his word I want angels I want spirits to minister to the people that serve me angels boom angels came got it spirits no sex they don’t get married and they don’t come down to earth and have sex with women it amazes me how dumb these people are to believe in Genesis 6 that angels came and had sex with women. Okay if they did that they would have violated. The. Sixth commandment thou shalt not commit adultery. And how can a holy angel violate the word of God the Bible says their holy and they obey his word they obeyed more than that they obey his command are you there and demons can’t have sex either.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Genesis 6:2 (NKJV)

How are we children of God?

▶ Watch this part (25:11)

Short answer: Not conceived—Jesus is the only conceived Son—but changed: if any man be in Christ he is a new creation.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 25:11 These people that come up with this stuff Jesus is going to expose all this right here [unclear] alright. He says neither can they die anymore they have an immortal body they’re going to live forever they are equal to what angels who are what spirits that have no sex now we have a body but we’re equal to angels we don’t have to use sex to multiply and all that in fact it’s not even though you’re not even interested in sex in heaven there is an intimate relationship with Jesus that’s far above physical sex are you with me now [unclear] and they are the children of God being the children of the resurrection see we are the children of God not conceived by God.

▶ 26:05 Who is the only conceived child of God Jesus Christ we are children by change. See the Bible says we are changed. metamorphosed into his image we are transformed we are changed if any man be in Christ he is a new creation we are a changed people that makes us children of God Jesus is the only conceived son of God. Got it if you got to give the Lord a clap offering yeah. Hallelujah. You understand the difference amen now. Isn’t this good now I could handle apologetics when it’s done this way.

How did Jesus prove life after death?

▶ Watch this part (26:59)

Short answer: Matthew 22:31–33: from the Pentateuch—“I am the God of Abraham I am the God of Isaac I am the God of Jacob,” present tense; God is not the God of the dead but of the living. The multitude was astonished.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 26:59 Total truth total Revelation totally from God now he’s going to talk about the resurrection. He settled them the marriage and heaven question see they assumed if you want to be resurrected going to be resurrected married with your [unclear] they assumed on that as touching the resurrection of dead have you not read what did he tell them at the beginning you don’t know the scriptures have you not read that God spoke in the burning bush saying I am the God of Abraham I am the God of Isaac I am the God of Jacob. He didn’t say I was the God of Abraham I was the God of Isaac I was the God of Jacob. Are you there there’s a big difference was is passed in no more they don’t exist I am is present tense they’re still alive.

▶ 28:00 Amen though the body’s dead they’re still alive boy does he have him and he used the Pentateuch to do it I would have went to a different scripture [unclear] but let me tell you this is slick. God is not the God of the dead but of the living. See eternal life is in the Old Testament however. Yes and that’s what it’s about don’t get me distracted from the gospel thank you. isn’t this good now. when the multitude heard [unclear] he’s addressing the Sadducees but guess who’s listening the thousands following him when this multitude heard they were astonished at his doctrine amazed and they believed and they followed but the Pharisee leaders the Sadducees leaders the herodian leaders the scribe leaders the grecian leaders they didn’t get converted because he answered them so good because they weren’t out to be converted they were out to make Jesus look bad.

▶ 29:24 They’re not wanting him to be the messiah they’re not wanting to change their life they’re not wanting to admit they’re wrong they’re not wanting to get water baptized because then the whole water baptism is public. And confession Christ you have to do that publicly if they did that then they’d be telling the crowd they were teaching them wrong all this time and they didn’t want to admit they were wrong how many know Christians like that I know a lot of them. They don’t want to admit they’re wrong and so they will defend them that they went away even though he gave a great answer and the multitudes heard it these guys did not change until Paul came along and Jesus personally revealed himself to that Pharisee.

How did Job know without apologetics?

▶ Watch this part (30:23)

Short answer: Job 19:25–26: I know my redeemer lives; in my flesh I will see God. Knowing God, not intellect, carries you through anything. John 6:68–69: you have the words of eternal life; we believe and know you are the Christ.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 30:23 And change his life are you there it took a special encounter with Jesus Christ to a vision and a voice to turn Paul around and how many know God is the one that turns you around it’s not your knowledge it’s not people convincing you it’s Jesus coming personally and turning you around. Hallelujah. In this good. Supernatural confirmation of life after death Job 19:25 now for those of you don’t know Job lived about the time of Abraham over 2,000 years or so before Christ [unclear] no law no prophets yet.

▶ 31:16 Abraham was a prophet [unclear] but no prophets. Abraham was a prophet but not the prophets that we know Isaiah Jeremiah and so forth understand. This is what Job said at the time of Abraham 2,000 years before Christ came this is what Job said I know my redeemer lives the emphasis is on what knowing how did he know Jesus lived he hadn’t been named yet. Did he know it by apologetic books they hadn’t been written yet. Are you there. Alleluia I know my redeemer [unclear] the last day he knew about the second return he knew about the second return before Jesus explained it to us.

▶ 32:25 In the end in the last day he will stand up on the earth whoo who will stand Jesus the redeemer is going to come back and he’s going to stand on the earth Job knew this. Without apologetic books without heresy hunters. After my skin has been destroyed after I die and I go to the dust and that’s going to be 3,000 or so years later he said after I die [unclear] after I’m dead and my and my body has been decayed away. Yet in my what flesh my body I will see God how did he know that.

▶ 33:19 No apologetic books. No megachurch ministries to tell him how to think. Are you there. He knew God and when you know God you know the nature of God I would always tell people as a young Christian I can’t answer your question but I know God and he’s not like that the next time you see me I will have an answer for you. Why because I knew God I met him I knew his nature and when someone spoke something opposite of his nature I knew without knowing the scriptures they were just wrong but I would go and get the answer next time I saw those people I had scripture answer for them.

▶ 34:13 Alleluia young Christians there’s nothing embarrassing was saying I don’t know but I will get you an answer but don’t try to fake it well there. Is this powerful. Don’t you want to know God like that. Do you know that’s in the new covenant that all shall know me from the least to the greatest from the baby to the mature Christian all [unclear] know me like Job knew.. They see my wife knows me. And. People can say things about me and my wife will say no my husband would never do that why she knows me I can’t hide anything from her are you there.

▶ 35:11 And we can know God and this is the supernatural part. It’s not intellect I learned as a young Christian knowing God by intellect just puffs you up makes you proud and makes you defend your intellect but knowing God an intimate relationship with him. You can go through anything I’ve gone through two divorces two women left me I’ve had children that try to defame my character in my name I’ve had two church splits. Attacking me accusing me of committing adultery. How do you get through that. Apologetics or through knowing God knowing God knowing God that peace that passes understanding are you isn’t that love that you can love your enemies.

▶ 36:15 During this time when they’re attacking you berating you accusing you you can love them you don’t have to attack back I got to do is stand for truth church I’m telling you. Being born again is a real spiritual experience in God and the Protestants are right in that area. the born again is not just believing in Christ it’s Christ coming and working that salvation in you changing you from a sinner to a saint see we’re changed into children of God amen. The Protestants were right when they separated from the catholic church they were right are you with me hallelujah. and Matthew 17:1 Moses and Elijah appeared talking with Jesus.

▶ 37:13 They were still alive just like Jesus said. Look at this when Jesus rose from the grave when he died on the cross the earth shook the graves were open and then on his resurrection day many bodies of the saints arose after he arose and appeared to what many. Confirmation of eternal life confirmation of a resurrection and yet the Sadducees Pharisees Herodians and all these religious leaders would not believe it Jesus rose on the third day just like he said and they still wouldn’t believe it see they’re not out to change their beliefs they’re out to change your belief why do you believe what you believe they’re out to try to get you thinking and try to get you distracted from a supernatural relationship with your God.

▶ 38:15 Isn’t that good yeah that’s why I always take them back to the cross I can answer most every question out there but I refuse to answer until they decide they want Jesus or not I just go right back to the cross I go right back to the gospel when I’m witnessing to people one on one and yeah I kept taking it back to the cross because the gospel is the power of God for salvation to those that believe amen and it doesn’t matter where Cain’s wife come from and all the rest unless you address the death burial resurrection of Jesus Christ water baptism confessing your sins and turning from your sins for the pardon of sin unless you address that what good is the other answers yes amen. John 6:69..

▶ 39:10 In John 6 the multitude left him they followed him for his miracles and then they followed him for the loaves and fishes and when Jesus said you’ve got to know me you got to partake of me not my miracles not my financial prosperity but you got to partake of me they left him and Jesus turns to those apostles and he says are you going to leave me too all right. And. They said these words you. Have the words of eternal life he had the words of [unclear] it’s not apologetics eternal life and we.

▶ 40:02 Have come we have come we have developed we have grown to the place where we believed and what and what. No. You’re the Christ the son of the living God they didn’t just believe they what no why. They had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ they knew him and what kept them from leaving not their belief it was their knowing him when the multitudes in the crowd left their relationship with Jesus kept them with Jesus and they were focusing on eternal life.

About this transcript

This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added from the speaker’s pauses and then corrected by hand, and obvious caption errors (names, Bible references) were fixed; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: Points to check: “John 3:30” for John 3:34; “Sixth commandment thou shalt not commit adultery” (seventh in the Protestant list); “first Corinthians 12” for 14:6 (spoken “12”); Job “about the time of Abraham” and “2,000 years” before Christ; Matthew 27 saints rising alluded to. Sensitive content kept as spoken: his Assembly of God church listed as a cult; Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons recruiting young Christians; Genesis 6 angel view — “how dumb these people are”; two divorces, children defaming him, two church splits, false adultery accusations; Protestants “right” to separate from the Catholic church.
