It’s a Miracle: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
In this message Pastor David G. Kincer defines a miracle as something only God can do and gives two purposes for miracles in Scripture: to get people’s attention and to meet needs. He explains why some refuse to believe even after seeing one, shows from John the Baptist that miracles are not required to believe, and calls repentance and the new birth the greatest miracle. He then teaches the story of the woman caught in adultery in John 8, and closes with a trust demonstration on faith and a call to believe for miracles in marriage and in salvation.
What is a miracle, and how does he describe the parting of the Red Sea? (Exodus 14:21-22)
Short answer: He defines a miracle as “something beyond mankind’s ability to do. Human beings can’t do it, only God can do it.” He says it is not “the miracle of science. That’s not a miracle if mankind can do it.” He argues that “an army will not drown in one foot of water,” and that “God miraculously made the bottom of that sea dry.”
▶ 0:00 A miracle is something beyond mankind’s ability to do. Human beings can’t do it, only God can do it. It’s called a miracle. We’re not talking about the miracle of science. That’s not a miracle if mankind can do it. That’s not a miracle. A miracle is something only God can do. And just for starters, these scientists say that the day the Israelites crossed over, it was at a place where there was one foot of water. Anybody with any brains between their ears knows that an army will not drown in one foot of water. God parted the Red Sea.
▶ 0:46 The sides of the water congealed, they coagulated like buttermilk, only thicker, and they stabilized, and Israel went across on dry land. It didn’t take any time. God miraculously made the bottom of that sea dry. It takes days for a lake to become dry after the water’s gone. And then God destroyed the Egyptian army in that sea, because He miraculously, supernaturally, beyond mankind’s capability, parted those waters. Hallelujah. Same with creation. Scientists can say all they want, but when God spoke and said, “Let there be light,” there was instant light.
Scripture in this part
Exodus 14:21-22 (NKJV)
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
— Exodus 14:21-22 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 0:44 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why does he say creation was instant, and what are two purposes of miracles? (Genesis 1:3; John 2:23; John 6:2)
Short answer: He says when God said “Let there be light,” there was “instant light. Not a million years, not two million years, it was instant.” He says “He is a miraculous God,” and “miracles are part of His forte.” He gives two purposes: John 2:23, “when people see something done that human beings are incapable of doing, it gets their attention. If their heart is not hard, they will believe,” and John 6:2, “He wants to meet their need.” He says if a person is blind and “doctors can do nothing for him,” then “Jesus comes along and opens those eyes, that is a miracle.”
▶ 1:35 Not a million years, not two million years, it was instant, because God, when He speaks, bang, it happens. When He said, “Let the dry land appear,” bam. When He said, “Let the plants bring forth,” bam. It wasn’t even a day, He just did it one day and waited the next day to do something else. See, He is a miraculous God, and that’s the God of the Bible, and that’s the God that we Christians claim to know, and He is a miraculous God, and we forget that miracles are part of His forte. So us Catholics, us Protestants, Jews, and Muslims need to buck up to the Bible and let God be God. The purpose of miracles, John 2:23: “Many believed in His name, Jesus, when they saw the miracles which He did.” When people see something done that human beings are incapable of doing, it gets their attention. If their heart is not hard, they will believe.
▶ 2:57 The second reason is He wants to meet their need. John 6:2: “A great multitude followed Jesus because they saw His miracles which He did on them that were diseased.” You see, they followed because they were doing miracles, they believed because they were doing miracles, and when He healed these diseases, He met a need. Leprosy could not be cured back in those days. In fact, it can’t even be cured today. You say, but Jesus, who is God, can do what humans cannot do. If a person is really blind, doctors can do nothing for him. Jesus comes along and opens those eyes, that is a miracle. That is the power of deity.
Scripture in this part
Genesis 1:3 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
— Genesis 1:3 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:35 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 2:23 (NKJV)
Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did.
— John 2:23 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 2:34John 6:2 (NKJV)
Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.
— John 6:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:04Does he say miracles ended with the New Testament, and what does he share about his mother’s tumor? (Hebrews 13:8; John 4:49-50)
Short answer: He says, “America has fallen away from even thinking about miracles. Even this church, we don’t come expecting God to do a miracle.” He says “God is a God of miracles, and it wasn’t just for the New Testament time,” and that when God does not answer, “you better pray anyway, because you never know when He’s going to respond.” He reads John 4:49-50, where the nobleman’s child lives. He tells of his mother’s liver tumor, which he says shrank until “the doctor said, ‘Lady, that tumor is gone. You got a miracle,’” while his atheist brother “just said, ‘No, it was the one chemotherapy that’s what did it.’”
▶ 3:57 And in my humble opinion, America has fallen away from even thinking about miracles. Even this church, we don’t come expecting God to do a miracle. We just come to see what fantastic message we can hear, or what deep presence of God we can feel, or we just come because it’s our duty. But we need to come with purpose. Could that be an amen? And we need to remember, God is a God of miracles, and it wasn’t just for the New Testament time, like fun. A lot of fundamentalists want to say God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He did miracles then, He did miracles now, He did miracles in between. He’s a God of miracles. Is that Bible? Absolutely. And see, we forget that, especially if we ask for something that only God can do and He doesn’t answer, then we just sort of slough it off and forget about it. Yeah, God doesn’t always respond to our prayers, but you better pray anyway, because you never know when He’s going to respond.
▶ 5:09 John 4:49: “The nobleman said unto Jesus, ‘Sir, come down before my child dies,’” and Jesus said unto him, “Go your son lives.” See, He met the nobleman’s needs. He brought that child back to life. All right, that’s miracles, that’s the purpose. Now remember, a miracle is meeting a need beyond human abilities. Now, even though God will do a miracle, some won’t believe after seeing a miracle. My atheist brother was one of them. He always said, “If I could see a miracle, I would believe.” Well, my mother got cancer. She was dying. They opened her up, she had a tumor the size of a grapefruit in her liver.
▶ 6:12 You cannot operate where the liver is, and so they sewed her back up and told her to go home, she’s going to die in so many days. Okay, she took one dose of chemotherapy, and the pain and the agony was so bad she says, “Forget it, I’m not going to go through that.” One year later, as she visited the doctor, that tumor kept shrinking, kept shrinking, kept shrinking, kept shrinking, until the next year the doctor said, “Lady, that tumor is gone. You got a miracle.” Doctor verification. My atheist brother would not believe. He just said, “No, it was the one chemotherapy that’s what did it.” You see, if you don’t want to believe, you’re just not going to believe, and I’ll show you why people don’t believe.
Scripture in this part
Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
— Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 4:37 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 4:49-50 (NKJV)
The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!” Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
— John 4:49-50 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 5:09Why do some people refuse to believe even after seeing a miracle? (John 12:37; Acts 4:16)
Short answer: He cites John 12:37, “Though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him,” and Acts 4:16, where the Jewish leaders say they “cannot deny it” but want to threaten the apostles. He says “this is what every nation wants to do with Jesus in the Bible. They want to get rid of anybody that really speaks the Bible and speaks in His name.” He says “Americans are really dumbed down right now, not to rock the boat,” and “there’s been four great awakenings in America, there will be another.”
▶ 7:05 And so a lot of people, even though they see a miracle, they will not believe. We have that recorded in John 12:37: “Though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him.” Acts 4:16: “A notable miracle has been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.” This is the Jewish leaders talking. “But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them that they speak from now on to no man in this name.” And see, this is what every nation wants to do with Jesus in the Bible. They want to get rid of anybody that really speaks the Bible and speaks in His name. Now, if you’re just a Christian that doesn’t believe in miracles and power, and they don’t care about you, you’re not a threat to any people. But if you get serious with God, they’re going to threaten you, and they’ll follow up on the threats.
▶ 8:13 Most American Christians don’t have to worry about it, because we’re not out proclaiming anything supernaturally or real truth that goes against the grain. Americans are really dumbed down right now, not to rock the boat, to just go along with public opinion and whatever, just believe our denominational doctrines no matter what. But God will move again. There’s been four great awakenings in America, there will be another, and we will have a crowd rising and God moving through that crowd again. Okay, so this is the system, you see. Unbelievers don’t want to hear truth, and they want to shut up people that speak the truth. And when a miracle comes, and these Jewish leaders could not deny it, everybody knew this was a miracle. This guy had been by the temple gate till he was 40 years old, everybody knew it. So they threaten him, and that’s what people will do to you. You say a miracle happens, they’ll put it off if they can’t deny it, they’ll just wash it away and cover it up.
Scripture in this part
John 12:37 (NKJV)
But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him,
— John 12:37 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:11Acts 4:16 (NKJV)
saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.
— Acts 4:16 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 7:20What does he say the “condemnation” of John 3:19 is, and why should sin be exposed? (John 3:19; Matthew 28:19-20)
Short answer: Reading John 3:19, he says “this is the condemnation,” and that it “includes the punishment.” He says “men love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil,” and “if people aren’t hating you, it’s probably because you’re not walking in too much light.” He says the purpose of Jesus coming, and of sending us to make disciples, is “to expose sin.” He asks what “American mega church pastors” are “afraid to do,” and says, “You’re really going to offend them when they go to hell.”
▶ 9:43 John 3:19: “This is the condemnation.” Some won’t believe even after seeing a miracle. This is the condemnation. This is the punishment. Condemnation is not only the judgment of what you did right and wrong, but it includes the punishment. You’re condemned, you are guilty, you deserve to die, or whatever that punishment is. “That light has come into the world,” Jesus has come into the world, “and men love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.” See, why won’t people come to Jesus? Why don’t they like Jesus? And I keep telling you, use the name of Jesus way above the name of God, because in our generation, God means anything, but Jesus specifically means the God of the Bible, and that name is what will stir men to anger or stir men to be convicted they are wrong. And so they want to do wrong, so they don’t want Jesus to be real, they don’t want the Bible to be real, they don’t want to be told that they’re wrong.
▶ 10:56 He goes on to say, “For everyone practicing evil hates the light,” and that’s true, and they hate the people that follow the light. Have you ever noticed that? And if people aren’t hating you, it’s probably because you’re not walking in too much light. I mean, everybody’s getting along with you? You better check your life. “And they won’t come to the light lest his deeds should be” what? Exposed. What’s the whole purpose of Jesus coming to earth? To expose sin. What’s the whole purpose of Him sending us to make disciples of all nations, teaching them everything that He said to teach? To expose their sin. What is American mega church pastors afraid to do? Expose sin. You see, scared of hurting somebody’s feelings, scared of rocking the boat, scared of offending somebody. You’re really going to offend them when they go to hell, and there’s no bigger offense than somebody that you could have told is doing a hell sin and you didn’t tell them and they go to hell. Don’t you think they’re going to be really hurt when it’s too late? Absolutely.
Scripture in this part
John 3:19 (NKJV)
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
— John 3:19 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 9:43Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV)
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
— Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 11:35 (quoted; reference not named in the message)How does he say John the Baptist shows that miracles are not required, and what is “the way of righteousness”? (John 10:41; Matthew 21:32)
Short answer: He says “many people believe without seeing miracles, and I’m one of those.” He cites John 10:41, that John the Baptist did no miracles, yet was the greatest prophet, “above Elijah, above Elisha, who did miracles.” He says “it doesn’t take miracles to be recognized as a person with a message.” He says John came “in the way of righteousness,” that “righteousness exposes the deeds of evildoers,” and “it’s not the second coming and which way you’re baptized and what formula you use. Righteousness is the message.”
▶ 12:22 On the other side, many people believe without seeing miracles, and I’m one of those. John 10:41: “John the Baptist did no miracles.” And Jesus said he was the greatest prophet up to that time. Up till Jesus came, John the Baptist was the greatest prophet, above Elijah, above Elisha, who did miracles, one did seven, the other did fourteen. John the Baptist, who did no miracle, no physical miracle, was the greatest prophet. Hallelujah. So it doesn’t take miracles to be recognized as a person with a message, does it? Yeah. Now let’s take a look. John the Baptist preached to these people. Matthew 21:32, Jesus said, “John came to you in the way of righteousness.” In what way did John come? Righteousness. Why?
▶ 13:28 Because righteousness exposes the deeds of evildoers. Did Jesus come with the same message? Absolutely. John the Baptist was the forerunner of the message of Jesus, and righteousness is the message. Folks, it’s not the second coming and which way you’re baptized and what formula you use. Righteousness is the message. “And you believed him not.” He’s talking to the Jewish leaders, he’s talking to the Pharisees and the scribes and the Sadducees, and these religious people. He said you didn’t believe his message of righteousness, “but the publicans,” the tax collectors, who were robbers, they took more taxes than the people owed, they were thieves, and that’s in the Ten Commandments, thou shalt not steal, “and the harlots,” the prostitutes.
Scripture in this part
John 10:41 (NKJV)
Then many came to Him and said, “John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true.”
— John 10:41 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:30Matthew 21:32 (NKJV)
For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him.
— Matthew 21:32 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 13:18What does he say the tax collectors and prostitutes show about the greatest miracle? (Matthew 21:32; Exodus 20:14-15)
Short answer: He says the tax collectors and prostitutes “repented and they got baptized,” while the religious leaders “saw the result” and would not repent. He asks what they saw: “They saw the greatest miracle: repentance, forgiveness, cleansing, and freedom from sin.” He says “they didn’t see somebody get a baptismal certificate and put on a church roll.” He says the greatest miracle is God convincing a person “that I was wrong, that I needed to confess my sins, turn from my sins,” so that “He would forgive me, He would cleanse me, and He would free me from those sins.”
▶ 14:29 You see, they took pay to have sex, which violates another one of the Ten Commandments, thou shalt not commit adultery, or sexual immorality of any kind. All right, these two sinners that these religious leaders claim to be above, they heard and responded and believed what John the Baptist spoke, and they repented and they got baptized. But He says when you religious leaders had seen it, see, they saw God moving on these people and changing their life. The prostitute wasn’t a prostitute anymore, the tax collector did not take more than he was due anymore. They saw the result, and after they saw the result, Jesus said you would not repent. After you saw what God did by a message of righteousness, you wouldn’t repent, you wouldn’t turn from your sin and believe his message of righteousness. Isn’t that powerful? What had they seen? What did they see? They saw the greatest miracle: repentance, forgiveness, cleansing, and freedom from sin. That’s what they saw.
▶ 15:59 They didn’t see somebody get a baptismal certificate and put on a church roll. They saw prostitutes changed from prostituting, they saw thieves changed from being a thief. The greatest miracle is the miracle that God can come to Dave Kincer, convince him that he is wrong. He supernaturally convinced me that I was wrong, that I needed to confess my sins, turn from my sins, that He would forgive me, He would cleanse me, and He would free me from those sins. That is still the greatest miracle that God does. So when we say we don’t have miracles, don’t leave this one out. When someone really gets born again, when someone really gets saved, I’m not talking about joining a church and joining a group, I’m talking about being born again, being saved by a visitation of God, that is a miracle. Hallelujah.
Scripture in this part
Exodus 20:14-15 (NKJV)
“You shall not commit adultery. “You shall not steal.
— Exodus 20:14-15 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 14:37 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Why does he say salvation is a miracle only God can do, and why bring people to Jesus rather than a church group? (John 6:44; John 20:29)
Short answer: He says salvation is, in his words, “it’s not just something you make up your mind to do,” quoting Jesus, “No one comes unto Me except the Father draws him,” and “God has to be active in this salvation.” He says, “I don’t care if you’re Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Pentecostal, or whatever, you better be born again.” He says “no man on earth can forgive sins,” and “we got to bring people to Jesus, folks, not to a church group, to Jesus.” Reading John 20:29, he says “if you can’t believe without a miracle, you are very wimpy,” and the Bible says “He’s chosen the foolishness of preaching.”
▶ 17:08 And He is debating with these church leaders, these religious leaders. They saw the miracle and yet they wouldn’t repent and believe the message. Do we need that miracle still going on today? Yeah. Don’t never forget, salvation is, it’s not just something you make up your mind to do. See, Jesus said, “No one comes unto Me except the Father draws him.” God has to be active in this salvation. I don’t care if you’re Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Pentecostal, or whatever, you better be born again.
▶ 17:50 The Spirit had better come to you and convicted you and drew you to Him, and you repented and you committed your life to Him, and He cleansed you, He set you free, He forgave you. Amen. No man on earth can forgive sins. Jesus said, “I’m the one that has authority on earth to forgive sin.” And that’s why we got to bring people to Jesus, folks, not to a church group, to Jesus. And when I go witnessing, I don’t even talk about a church, I talk about the cross, I talk about Jesus. If I can get him to Jesus, then I can invite him to a church.
▶ 18:39 John 20:29, Jesus plainly said Himself, “Blessed are they which have not seen and have believed.” If you can’t believe without a miracle, you are very wimpy. Jesus said the power of My gospel to convict, the power of My gospel to penetrate your spirit and touch your spirit, is enough to cause you to believe. And that’s what the Bible says, He’s chosen the foolishness of preaching, that all might be saved that believe.

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
— John 20:29 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 18:391 Corinthians 1:21 (NKJV)
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
— 1 Corinthians 1:21 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:12 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What was the trap set for Jesus in the story of the woman caught in adultery? (John 8:3-6)
Short answer: He calls it “a tremendous story.” He says the religious leaders were trying to catch Jesus “in a false doctrine, in not obeying the Word of God,” so “they set up this woman,” and brought her saying, “Moses and the law commands us that such should be stoned. What say You?” He says they “thought they had Him,” and that people “try to find a fault in you,” yet “in the midst of those faults we got a lot of truth, we got a lot of facts, and the power is in the truth.”
▶ 19:22 The greatest miracle continued. John 8:4, now this is a tremendous story in the Bible, tremendous. This is a sinner. Scripture, these, let me give you the background. These religious leaders were trying to catch
▶ 19:47 Jesus in a false doctrine, in not obeying the Word of God. They’re trying to catch Him, so they set up this woman, and they sent a man down there, doesn’t say that, but that’s what they had to do, because she was committing adultery with a man and all this group knew it. So they sent a man down there, and sure enough, she was seduced, she had sex with this man, and then this group comes in and they caught her in the very act of adultery. You see, and so they bring her to Jesus. “This woman was taken in the act of adultery.” They tell Jesus, “Moses and the law commands us that such should be stoned. What say You?” They thought they had Him, because see, He had already said, “I have not come to condemn the world, but that the world through Me might be saved.” He had already forgiven people of sins, they knew this, and so they’re trying to trip Jesus up.
▶ 20:55 That’s a joke, trying to trip God up, you’re on the wrong side of things, folks. So, “What say You?” The law says to stone her, what do You say, Jesus? They said to Jesus, tempting Him that they might have to accuse Him. They really wanted to find a fault in Him, so they could tell the people He’s a false prophet. That’s what they’re after. How many of you know that’s what people do to you if you try to preach the truth? They try to find a fault in you. And believe me, we’re not Jesus. Can they find faults? Oh yeah, not too hard. If you want to look for faults instead of facts, you’ll find faults in us. But let me tell you, in the midst of those faults we got a lot of truth, we got a lot of facts, and the power is in the truth, and we’re growing in our [unclear].
Scripture in this part
John 8:3-6 (NKJV)
Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.
— John 8:3-6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 19:29John 3:17 (NKJV)
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
— John 3:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:39 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does he think Jesus wrote on the ground? (John 8:6-8; Leviticus 20:10; Deuteronomy 19:18-19; Deuteronomy 5:20)
Short answer: He says Jesus “stooped down and wrote on the ground,” then said, “He that is without sin, let him be the first to cast the stone at her.” He says the Bible “doesn’t tell us” what Jesus wrote, but “probably what Jesus wrote was Leviticus 20:10,” that the adulterer and adulteress both be put to death: “Where’s the man here?” He adds Deuteronomy 19:18-19, so the false witnesses are “now liable to them,” and Deuteronomy 5:20, saying Jesus “had already exposed these religious leaders as being thieves, being sinners.”
▶ 21:48 So what did Jesus do? He stooped down and wrote on the ground. He started writing on the ground. Didn’t say a word. Then He says, “He that is without sin, let him be the first to cast the stone at her.” Remember, He wrote on the ground, and then He said, any of you without sin, go ahead, you be the first to cast the stone. Any of you here that don’t have sin? And then Jesus wrote on the ground again. He went down and finished the sermon. Hallelujah. He wrote Scripture, folks, that’s all Jesus knows, and He got back down and He finished His sermon while they were thinking on this. So what did Jesus write? Bible doesn’t tell us, but the Bible tells us that Jesus taught truth.
▶ 23:09 And so the issue here is adultery and stoning, so probably what Jesus wrote was Leviticus 20:10: “He that commits adultery, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.” See, not just the woman. Where’s the man here? Was the man one of them? Had they committed adultery? I mean, bam, boom! That’s sticking the sword in and twisting it. See, they had violated the law of God by bringing one person and not both. Deuteronomy 19:18-19: “If a false witness testifies falsely against his brother, do unto him as he thought to have done, so shall you put evil away from among you.” Oh, these guys are all false witnesses, so what they wanted done to this adulteress is now liable to them. So even if they hadn’t committed adultery, because they brought this in a false way, now they must be stoned also.
▶ 24:37 Are you out there, church? Hallelujah. Did you ever think about what Jesus wrote on? See, when I read my Bible, that’s how I think, that’s how the Holy Spirit drives me to think. Deuteronomy 5:20, “You shall not covet, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, or be a false witness.” Jesus had already exposed these religious leaders as being thieves, being sinners, “the lust of your father he said you will do.” He’d already exposed these people that they were sinners, and now they’re wanting to murder this woman.

John 8:6-8 (NKJV)
This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.

And the judges shall make careful inquiry, and indeed, if the witness is a false witness, who has testified falsely against his brother, then you shall do to him as he thought to have done to his brother; so you shall put away the evil from among you.

‘You shall not murder. ‘You shall not commit adultery. ‘You shall not steal. ‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
— Deuteronomy 5:17-20 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:00John 8:44 (NKJV)
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
— John 8:44 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 25:13 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does Numbers 14:18 add, and why does he say the printed and spoken word matter? (Numbers 14:18; John 8:9)
Short answer: He reads Numbers 14:18, “The Lord is patient, abundant in mercy, and forgiving iniquity,” and says “God is out to forgive, so He wrote this down. Shouldn’t you men who need forgiveness want to give forgiveness?” He says “this is why we need to get the printed word out, the spoken word out,” and to “throw those stupid hobby horse denominational doctrines aside and preach Christ like Paul did, and Him crucified.” Reading John 8:9, he says the accusers, “convicted, convinced by their own conscience, went out one by one,” and “if we don’t speak it and we don’t print it, there’s no conviction.”
▶ 25:33 Numbers 14:18: “The Lord is patient, abundant in mercy, and forgiving iniquity.” That’s in the law. The Lord is what? Patient, abundant in mercy, compassion, compassion to teach, compassion to heal, compassion. Remember the teaching on compassion? Forgiving iniquity. See, God is out to forgive, so He wrote this down. Shouldn’t you men who need forgiveness want to give forgiveness? Whoa, the dagger is going deep. Powerful story in the Bible about how Jesus saves sinners, very powerful. The result of Jesus writing and speaking.
▶ 26:32 See, this is why we need to get the printed word out, the spoken word out. Somewhere we got to get before God until God stirs us for the harvest field. The church has to get together and unite and get the printed word out and the spoken word out, and not our hobby horse doctrines. Throw those stupid hobby horse denominational doctrines aside and preach Christ like Paul did, and Him crucified. Amen. That’s the power of the gospel. John 8:9: “They which heard it and read it, being convicted, convinced by their own conscience, went out one by one.”
▶ 27:25 You see the power of the spoken word, the power of the printed word, has the Holy Spirit backing it up to convince people. But if we don’t speak it and we don’t print it, there’s no conviction. You can say, “I live the life,” that’s fine, we need to live the life, that is a way to evangelize, but the Bible says He’s chosen the foolishness of preaching to save those that would believe. Verse 10, Jesus said to the woman that was caught in adultery, “Woman, where are your accusers? Has no man condemned you?” Judged you and sentenced you to punishment? And she said, “No man, Lord.”

Numbers 14:18 (NKJV)
‘The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
— 1 Corinthians 2:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 27:02 (quoted; reference not named in the message)John 8:9 (NKJV)
Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
— John 8:9 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 27:11John 8:10 (NKJV)
When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
— John 8:10 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 28:00What does “No man, Lord” show, and what does he say Jesus meant in John 8:11-12?
Short answer: He says the woman “recognized Jesus as the forgiver of sin, the cleanser of sin, as the Son of God, as God,” while the accusers left “because they didn’t want their deeds exposed.” Of John 8:11 he says Jesus’ meaning is, “I have a right to throw that stone,” but “I am operating from a higher law of forgiving iniquity, I am operating from a higher law of showing mercy.” He says Jesus told her to go and sin no more “because she recognized Him as Lord,” and “keep following me, you won’t walk in dark.”
▶ 28:25 “No man, Lord.” Lord means chief controller, chief authority, no higher authority, controller of everything. She recognized Jesus as the forgiver of sin, the cleanser of sin, as the Son of God, as God. She recognized His lordship that day. Hallelujah. And so the printed word and the spoken word not only convicted her accusers, but they didn’t recognize Jesus as Lord, because they didn’t want their deeds exposed, they didn’t want to serve Jesus, they left. But the woman didn’t leave. She recognized His authority, His lordship. Are you out there? Isn’t that a powerful story?
▶ 29:35 John 8:11, then these famous words, I love this: “Neither do I condemn thee.” Neither do I judge you and sentence you to be punished. You deserve to die. I am the only one here without sin. I have a right to stone you, I have a right to throw that stone, I have a right to put you to death, because you violated God’s Word. But I am operating from a higher law of forgiving iniquity, I am operating from a higher law of showing mercy, I am operating from a higher law to cleanse you from sin. I won’t condemn you, and I have the right to condemn you. Isn’t that beautiful? Hallelujah.
▶ 30:25 Folks, this is the kind of miracles we need going on every day in America and throughout the world. John 8:12: “I am the light of the world. He that follows Me,” he goes on to say, “shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” So He told her to get up and sin no more, and then He told her, “I am the light of the world, he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Why did He tell her to go and sin no more? Because she recognized Him as Lord, and He’s reminding her, keep following me, you won’t walk in dark, you won’t do prostitution anymore or sexual immorality anymore. Isn’t it beautiful? Yeah, powerful.

John 8:11 (NKJV)
She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
— John 8:11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 29:35John 8:12 (NKJV)
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
— John 8:12 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 30:33What does he say should be preached to sinners, and what was the trust demonstration about? (Hebrews 11:1)
Short answer: He says “this is the kind of message that you preach to sinners,” not “church doctrine to sinners”: “They need to hear sinner sermons, are you with me? They need to hear sinner songs.” He then leads a volunteer through a trust exercise, saying “Faith is the substance, you see, it’s the reality of things hoped for, the evidence, the proof of things not seen,” and asks, “Do you believe I wouldn’t hurt you?” before asking her to fall backwards off the platform.
▶ 31:23 Powerful, man. This is the kind of message that you preach to sinners. You don’t go out there like we tried a few years ago and preach church doctrine to sinners. They need to hear sinner sermons, are you with me? They need to hear sinner songs, and you don’t wait to go out there, you bring sinner songs in the church, and you put something in there for sinners in your messages. Face the congregation. Yes. Do you believe that I’m an honest man? Yes. Do you believe that I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you?
▶ 32:14 Yes. Do you believe in the Lord Jesus? Yes. And His protection power? Okay, walk to my voice. Faith is the substance, you see, it’s the reality of things hoped for, the evidence, the proof of things not seen. All right, here, let me have your hand. You trust me not to let you bump into anything? Yes, yes, yes, yes. Okay, you got heels on? Yes. Now you’re walking like it. Now see, nothing happened, huh? No. You found me when you were blind and you couldn’t see me.
▶ 33:15 Yes, you followed me through this path and you didn’t run into anything, and you couldn’t see if there were obstacles there, right? Yes. Hallelujah. Now, you ready to prove that you really believe? Sir, faith is the substance, the reality of things hoped for, it is the evidence and proof of things not seen. Okay, now, because nothing happened there, do you have the belief and faith to do this next thing I’m going to ask you to do, and nothing will happen? Mhm. See, nothing happened back there, right? Mhm. Okay, and just turn around like this. Okay, and inch yourself backwards.
▶ 34:12 No, with your feet, inch yourself backward. Yes. Okay, right there. Now take one foot and take a step back and see what’s there. Oh, oh. Now put that foot back. No, no, no, stand there. Yeah, right there. Now, do you believe I wouldn’t hurt you? Yes, yes. All right, then I want to ask you, I’m going to let you go, I’m going to ask you just to fall backwards, straight backwards, off that platform. Really? Yes. I’m right here. See, we say we believe, but believe is a reality.

Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
— Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 32:38 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does he say believing is, and is the Bible a book of faith? (Romans 10:17)
Short answer: He says “believe is a reality. It’s not a fictitious thing, it’s not a fake thing, it’s a real thing.” He says faith is being convinced, and “He comes by His gospel, He comes by His Spirit.” He says “The Bible never says it is a book of faith,” that scientists and atheists say it to eliminate the Bible, but “the Bible says it’s a book of truth, and faith comes by hearing truth.” He says “we believe until we can’t see, and then, ‘Hold on here, I’m not going to take that step,’” and “this is where the American church is.”
▶ 35:11 It’s not a fictitious thing, it’s not a fake thing, it’s a real thing, of things hoped for. Do we hope to go to heaven? Do we hope Christ to empower us to live for Him here on earth, provide for our natural needs? Okay, the evidence, the proof. You see, because Christ can come with His gospel and convict me and convince me, which is faith. Faith is being convinced. He comes by His gospel, He comes by His Spirit, and He convinces Dave Kincer that He will save him from his sin, that He will give him eternal life. See, and scientists say that the Bible can’t be used because it’s a book of faith. The Bible never says it is a book of faith. That’s what scientists and atheists do to try to eliminate the Bible. The Bible says it’s a book of truth, and faith comes by hearing truth. Hallelujah.
▶ 36:24 And how many of us are just like this young lady? We believe until we can’t see, and then, “Hold on here, I’m not going to take that step.” And this is where the American church is. And I keep saying the American church, because from my encounter in Third World countries, Africa, South America, Asia, which I’m going to be going to again this week, God is moving there. Things are happening. People are getting born again, prostitutes are changing their life, drug addicts are changing their life. I mean, things are happening, millions are coming to Christ in these nations every year, and in America we’re getting more and more religious.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV)
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
— Romans 10:17 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 36:18 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What miracles does he say we should believe for, including salvation and marriage? (Romans 8:38-39; Ephesians 5:25)
Short answer: He says that in Third World countries “millions are coming to Christ in these nations every year,” while “in America we’re getting more and more religious.” He lists miracles to believe in, including salvation, being “baptized in the Holy Ghost with power,” wisdom, knowledge, “understanding open up to understand the Scriptures,” and “marrying and staying married is a miracle.” He says “America’s marriages are falling apart like the world’s.” He concludes that “a miracle is something beyond human’s ability,” and “the reason some people won’t believe is because they don’t want their life to be exposed.”
▶ 37:16 And so we need to get back to believing in miracles: the miracle of salvation, the miracle of being baptized in the Holy Ghost with power, the miracle of having wisdom, the miracle of having knowledge, the miracle of having my understanding open up to understand the Scriptures, the miracle to love my wife as Christ loved the church, the miracle of a wife loving her husband and being loyal to him. That’s a miracle. Marrying and staying married is a miracle. Overcome the obstacles in marriage, fighting through the problems, hanging in there, and that’s what the Holy Ghost will do, and that’s what the Word will do. We need to see that, but we’re not seeing it in America. America’s marriages are falling apart like the world’s.
▶ 38:19 Is the greatest miracle the power of the Word to convince you that you not only have eternal life when you die, but that you are an overcomer in this life? Amen. That the love of God is so great that nothing can separate you from His love. Nothing, nothing can draw you back into sin. That’s the kind of faith and that’s the kind of belief that the Bible speaks of. Just remember, a miracle is something beyond human’s ability. Jesus heals the body, the soul, and the spirit, so people will believe and so people’s needs will be met. Some won’t believe after seeing miracles, and some people believe without seeing miracles, and the reason some people won’t believe is because they don’t want their life to be exposed.

About this transcript
This transcript comes from YouTube’s automatic English captions, which supply the timing and the words. Punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing were added by hand, and obvious caption errors were corrected; his wording was not rewritten. “[unclear]” marks a word or name that was not clear. Editor notes: the captions read “John 8484” and “John 88:9” (about 19:20 and about 27:20) for John 8:4 and John 8:9; he says “Matthew 21:31” for the passage about John the Baptist and the tax collectors, which is in Matthew 21:32; the captions read “a noble miracle” for Acts 4:16 (“a notable miracle”); “swed” is written as “sewed” and “great fruit” as “grapefruit”; “rode on the ground” is written as “wrote.” One phrase, “we’re growing in our” (about 21:30), is marked [unclear] because the next word is not clear in the captions. The names in the transcript are the speaker’s own. He speaks about his mother’s illness and his atheist brother (about 5:10–7:00); these personal accounts are shown as he gave them. His statements about Catholics, Protestants, Jews and Muslims (about 1:40) and about American mega church pastors (about 11:30) are shown as he said them.
