Intro to Bible Economics, Part 1: full transcript and answers
Gray boxes are our own short answers and summaries.
Opening a present truth series on Bible economics, Pastor David G. Kincer teaches that God commands six days of work and a day of rest, and promised supernatural protection to those who kept His feasts. He applies Deuteronomy 15:6 to national debt and to who rules a nation, insists that Christians work, and explains how he keeps the feast days as shadows fulfilled in Christ.
What does Bible economics include?
Short answer: He says Bible economics includes work, leisure, recreation, property, money, saving, debt, medical necessities, retirement, banking, investments, insurance, foreign relations and military expense. He says “you better know about economics if you’re going to survive in this world,” and starts with work and rest.
▶ 0:00 Continuing and present truth we are going to be talking about Bible economics, including work, leisure, recreation, property, money, store or saving, debt, medical necessities, retirement, disability, banking, investments, insurance, foreign relations and military expense and whatever else comes under economics. All right and present truth is you better know about economics if you’re going to survive in this world and so we’re going to be talking about Bible economics. Okay. We’re going to take the first two, work and rest you see the little boy on the screen he’s R&R and he’s relaxing he’s got his dog there he’s fishing and he just got life by the tail all dads aren’t working.
What does the Bible say about working six days and resting on the Sabbath? (Exodus 20:9-11)
Short answer: He reads “six days shall you labor and do all your work,” and says the work here is income: “it is making money.” He says since Jesus said you can lead your ox to water or pull your donkey out of a pit on the Sabbath, the rest day is from earning income, not from every activity.
▶ 1:14 Probably dad and moms working. In Exodus 20 verses 9 through 11. Six days shall you labor and do all your work and work here as income and we know its income because Jesus said it’s okay to lead your donkey and your ox to water on the Sabbath day and he says if your donkey or our ox or something gets in a pit a ditch and can’t get out you can go get him out so it’s okay to play football on the Sabbath day so we know it is income it’s not repairing the screen door it’s not washing the dishes it is making money but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God in it you shall do no work neither your son your daughter your servants your cattle foreigners that are within your gates and then he goes back to Genesis for in six days the Lord made the heavens the earth the sea and all that is in them and rested the seventh day.
Scripture in this part
Exodus 20:9-11 (NKJV)
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
— Exodus 20:9-11 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:22Luke 14:5 (NKJV)
Then He answered them, saying, “Which of you, having a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?”
— Luke 14:5 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 1:43 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Did God intend for people to work from the beginning? (Leviticus 26:2)
Short answer: He says Adam had to work the garden, “He wasn’t sitting there just picking fruit off in a hammock,” and God initiated work right at the beginning. He says on the Sabbath God asked people to take time to hear the word, worship Him and get back in touch with God, and then enjoy life.
▶ 2:24 Therefore the Lord blessed the seventh day the Sabbath Saturday and made it a holy day and so from creation to 1500 BC when Exodus is written here and beyond, we have, You got to work six days you know that Adam had to work the garden. He wasn’t sitting there just picking fruit off in a hammock. He had to work that garden and God initiated work right at the beginning right at the beginning. Leviticus 26 2 tells us you shall keep my sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary so on the Sabbath God asked them to take time to read her word hear the word worship him get back in touch with God then the rest of the day you could just [unclear] and enjoy life.
Scripture in this part
Leviticus 26:2 (NKJV)
You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the LORD.
— Leviticus 26:2 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 3:16Where did the five-day workweek and the weekend come from?
Short answer: He says the five-day workweek came during the industrial revolution when industries realized overworking people was unprofitable, and an automaker adopted it, doubled wages and saw productivity go off the scale. He says Saturday and Sunday became the weekend to please Christians who wanted Sunday off and Sabbath-keepers and Jews who wanted Saturday off.
▶ 3:35 The five-day workweek by the way came during the industrial revolution. The industries realized that working them too much was unprofitable they weren’t productive after a while and so they started working them five days a week and given them two days off and Henry Ford used it he wasn’t the one that invented it like some like your internet says but he caught on his assembly line was unproductive and wasn’t getting things the job done so he came up with also a five-day workweek doubled their wages and gave them Saturday and Sunday off and eight hours a day and his productivity went off the scale and his employees weren’t coming and leaving they stayed they remain they retired from the Ford Motor Company so it was a wise thing that industry bought us brought us and we’re in the tech world generation now that’s the manufacturing industry a revolution were in the technical revolution now.
▶ 4:54 But government used it during the Great Depression along with Social Security retiring people early so that there would be more jobs available ok. And the weekend by the way of Saturday and Sunday worked out this way the Christians wanted Sunday off the Sabbath Christians wanted Saturday off the Jews wanted Saturday off to worship their God so to please everybody, Saturday and Sunday became the weekend oh yeah. Now we’re going to look at a miracle promise, supernatural promise okay.
What miracle promise did God give for keeping holidays? (Exodus 34:21-24)
Short answer: He says God gave a miraculous promise if His people would rest, even in plowing time and harvest, and keep the feasts. He notes God said all the males must appear three times a year: “Christianity is not for women only.”
▶ 5:48 That God made he gave us a miracle promise a miraculous promise if his people would rest on holidays not just Sabbath days but God instituted some holidays and he says if you keep these holidays. I’ll do something miraculous for you how many interested in that yeah. Okay Exodus 34:21 through 24, six days shalt you work we just heard that but on the seventh day you shall rest we just heard that and plowing time and harvest time you shall rest but my but my my my fruits in the field I gotta get out there and get it now relax. Rest. Take it easy you shall observe the feast of weeks that’s Pentecost you shall observe the firstfruits of the wheat harvest that’s the last day of Passover and unleavened bread.
▶ 6:48 And you shall observe the feast the holiday the holy day of ingathering at the year’s end and all of these feast days were Sabbath there were seven of them but he said three times in the year I want all your males to appear before the Lord. Males. I’m just letting it soak in, men. Christianity is not for women only. God here plainly says males later he says all Israel but he has to get specific with us males because we’re so hard hot headed and so busy golfing and everything on off days.
Scripture in this part
Exodus 34:21-24 (NKJV)
“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest. “And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year’s end. “Three times in the year all your men shall appear before the Lord, the LORD God of Israel. For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither will any man covet your land when you go up to appear before the LORD your God three times in the year.
— Exodus 34:21-24 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 6:23Why was keeping the feasts a step of faith?
Short answer: He says people had to travel days to Jerusalem and stay eight days, leaving homes, crops, animals and inventory exposed to bandits, so “it’s a serious decision to keep the holiday.” He says God offered a supernatural solution: no one would desire their land while they appeared before Him.
▶ 7:42 Three times in the year not three times they had to leave their home and come to the house of God which was in Jerusalem to keep these feast days okay and look at verse 24 look at this miraculous promise I will cast out the nations from before you and I will enlarge your borders neither will any man desire your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year you say well what’s a miracle about that well how would you like to live over a hundred miles away back in those days where you had to walk for transportation or ride a donkey or something and you had to travel several days just to get to the house of God and then you got to stay there seven days and the eighth there’s really eight days and then you had to travel several days back and your home is not occupied your crops are not being watched over your animals are not being fed and watered.
▶ 9:03 The bandits and the marauders that were the lazy people the crooks that just waited for people to grow things and then to come and steal it so here it is you’re vulnerable if you had a business of making pottery or making clothing you had to leave your inventory. Then all of a sudden it’s a serious decision to keep the holiday. You got to trust God and he’s offering a supernatural solution no one is going to desire your home your possessions your crops your animals nothing’s going to happen to anything if you come and appear before me on these holidays three times again.
What does God promise about lending and not borrowing? (Deuteronomy 15:6)
Short answer: He contrasts how hard it is today to get up on Sunday and drive a mile. He reads God’s promise that if you obey His word you shall lend to many nations and not borrow, and rule over many nations, and says “we have not seen these two things globally restored.”
▶ 9:57 Powerful. Are you out there. We can’t even hardly get up in the morning on Sunday to drive a mile. Yeah. Let alone what these people had to go through. Now look at this Deuteronomy 15:6 as he, God, promised you if you obey my word you shall lend to many nations and not borrow from nations you will reign over many nations rule over many nations and they shall not rule over you. Wow. That is a tremendous promise and I know you guys know all this when you read through there you just got that right out of there.
▶ 10:58 These are supernatural promises that only God can bring to fulfillment. Okay. The truth is. Remember we went through restoration and refreshing all things must be restored spoken by the prophets we have not seen these two things globally restored and yet Christians are predicting the second coming any minute any time without thinking about every jot and tittle of the word must be fulfilled. [unclear]. We not only neglect these things our nation borrows from China our enemy, we’re in great debt to China, we borrow from Russia we borrow money we’re like 18 trillion dollars in debt borrowing from
Scripture in this part
Deuteronomy 15:6 (NKJV)
For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.
— Deuteronomy 15:6 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 10:30Why does he say borrowing from other nations is dangerous? (Proverbs 22:7)
Short answer: He says the nation is about 18 trillion dollars in debt, borrowing from communist countries whose manifesto is out to annihilate capitalism, free enterprise and Christianity. He says “the Bible says the borrower is a slave to the lender,” and nations desire to rule over us.
▶ 12:14 communist country, countries that in their manifesto is out to annihilate capitalism free enterprise and Christianity because it’s an opium of the people. And we borrow money from them and the Bible says the borrower is a slave to the lender. We have communist nations and Muslim nations that desire to rule over us that in the Quran the Muslims must by force conquer the pagans that’s us. And anybody else that isn’t a Muslim. So as a person if I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross and I believe that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh I have offended Allah.
Scripture in this part
Proverbs 22:7 (NKJV)
The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender.
— Proverbs 22:7 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 12:34 (quoted; reference not named in the message)What does he say about Islam and being offended?
Short answer: He says because he believes the Bible he offends Muslims, and that people have been taught by politicians that it is peaceful: “read their book folks read their book read your Bible.” He contrasts this with Jesus, who was blasphemed and called Beelzebub and it “didn’t bother him a bit,” and who did not ask the people to rise up and protect Him.
▶ 13:16 Allah is so easily offended if you draw a cartoon of him he’s offended and his people rise up and kill people and because I believe the Bible I offend Muslims, I offend Allah and they have to do something in the end to change me or kill me. And yet we have been ignorantly taught in America from our politicians that Muslim is a peaceful nation read their book folks read their book read your Bible if you really follow the Bible you’re going to be a righteous person and stand for truth you really follow the Quran you’re going to kill everybody that gets in your way. That’s what all the [unclear] and all those so easy offended, I don’t know what kind of God can be a God that. I mean Jesus was blaspheme, Jesus was called Beelzebub, the prince of [unclear], didn’t bother him a bit, he [unclear].
Can a small minority rule over a majority?
Short answer: He says a small percentage of communists rule over China and suppress Christianity, “the minority is ruling over the majority.” He says in America about seventy percent are said to be Christians, yet humanists and liberals have taken control while many ministers teach psychology and prosperity instead of everyday wholesome living principles.
▶ 14:29 And he didn’t ask the people to rise up and protect him [unclear] you people kill him, get it, get these people that said crucify [unclear]. You know these people that are graduated from Harvard they aren’t as smart as you think they are and when they talk Bible they don’t know beans about it it would be better they just shut up. Are you with me now listen seven percent of the population of China’s 1.3 billion people are communists seven percent and they rule over the whole nation and suppress Christianity and suppress anything that they want to suppress the minority is ruling over the majority and doing what they want to do now let’s switch to America.
▶ 15:34 We have seventy percent so they say Christians in America. Twenty percent of America are humanists and liberals and in the last 60 years they have taken control of America and us Christians aren’t even allowed to talk let alone lead and rule. That’s present truth this is what we’re living in right now they’ve got so many Christians and these mega church ministers and a lot of pastors they don’t teach their people Bible truth they teach them psychology and and prosperity and possibility thinking and positive thinking and purpose driven and all this stuff and they’re not teaching them everyday wholesome living principles like we are supposed to be in leadership and ruling and leading a nation.
What changed in America since the 1950s?
Short answer: He says in the 1950s there was a tremendous spiritual awareness, when “In God We Trust” went on the money and “one nation under God” into the pledge, from the 1948 outpouring. He says since the sixties secular humanists and liberals got a foothold, and today you can’t use the name of Jesus publicly in a prayer while most Christians sit back.
▶ 16:42 In that what he said and. Instead of our nation borrowing money from people. We should be strong like we were in the 50s remember in the 50s I told you I grew up then. There was a tremendous spiritual awareness in the land in the 50s is when they put in God we trust on our money one nation under God in our pledge why I was there there was a tremendous focus on Jesus in God and spiritual things from the 1948 outpouring that we showed you in previous. Lesson and. Then the sixties came along and the secular humanist and the liberals began to get a foothold and they grew and today.
▶ 17:36 You can’t even use the name of Jesus publicly in a prayer. Chaplains cannot use Jesus in the military and chaplains are getting fired out of the military and we’re just sitting back Christians, seventy percent of us just sit back all we gotta love them grace and faith grace faith. Alleluia. Also while I’m thinking about it it is amazing to me that everybody is attacking Trump over his Latino statements and yet he made the same accusation about China and they say nothing and he’s right on both counts.
What does he say about the border, immigration and Christian unity? (Matthew 16:18)
Short answer: He says what’s going on at the borders “is a horrible atrocity,” and China and Russia are a danger to us. He also says most Latinos are Catholics or Protestant Christians, and “if we Christians can unite and stand for what’s right we can turn this nation back around,” because the church is to prevail over the gates of hell.
▶ 18:34 What’s going on at those borders is a horrible atrocity and I’ve been telling you that for years he found to come out and just said it. And China is a big danger to us, so is Russia. And yet the Chinese are only one point six percent of Americans they don’t have a big enough voting bloc yet if you know common sense the Latinos are twelve percent yeah that’s a big voting bloc and the illegals are a huge percent and listen to me most Latinos are Catholics or Protestant Christians. There is a secret, subtle positive to this thing and if we Christians can unite and
▶ 19:31 stand for what’s right we can turn this nation back around are you with me. There can be good and bad things. When God’s involved. If you took the Latino population out folks we’d be fifty eight percent Christian. Are you there and if you took the illegals away we’d be close to fifty percent Christian. So think about that. The church is to be a glorious church prevailing over the gates of hell you remember.
Scripture in this part
Matthew 16:18 (NKJV)
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
— Matthew 16:18 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 20:22 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Should Christians work for a living?
Short answer: He says handling finances starts with work: “Christians work.” He says many Christians expect God to rain hamburgers from heaven or expect to be hired because they are Christians, but “you gotta work and you gotta show you can work.”
▶ 20:25 And its followers must start with handling their finances through work many have you heard me say Christians work. And why I say that is this lesson today you know work is the fourth commandment in the ten commandments work and a lot of Christians don’t work. They expect God to rain hamburgers from heaven or something you know I’m a Christian everybody should hire me I’m a Christian man I should be bank president I’m a Christian no you gotta work and you gotta show you can work. [unclear] a good place for an amen you know we’d like to get in the miracles and the presence of the Lord all this stuff oh flatter me and we don’t like message to say be responsible Monday through Friday work.
Must Christians keep the Old Testament feast days? (Colossians 2:16-17)
Short answer: He reads that no one should judge you about holidays, new moons or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, and asks, “How do I observe a shadow.” He says he kept Passover when he accepted Christ’s death for him, unleavened bread when he repented, Pentecost when God filled him with the Holy Spirit, trumpets when he shares the word, atonement when he repents of present sins, and harvest when he leads people to Jesus.
▶ 21:36 Oh yeah. Christians work and I’ve preached that all over the world and I preached it where they weren’t working and I didn’t care if they liked it or not it’s Bible stop feeling sorry for yourself get your butt off the chair and work, mow lawn, clean a pool clean a motel room do something wash cars work. Colossians 2 verse 16 and 17 let no man judge you in meat or drink nor holiday nor new moon or Sabbath day which are a shadow of things to come. These feast days these holidays are a shadow of things to come so is the new moons and all that other stuff I have people ever once in awhile say what does your church to do what kind of special services do you have for the feast and I say and I said well what do you do for a shadow.
▶ 22:43 How do I observe a shadow I said I observe Passover when I accepted Christ death on the cross for me I observed unleavened bread when I repented of my sins agreed I was wrong and turned from my sin that’s unleavened bread so what am I going to do I’m going to put banners in the church and and have the dance company come out and [unclear] days we just go through these and the firstfruits is me keeping the basic fruits of God and I got a lot more fruit I got to bear. Amen we start with first fruits repentance I’m sorry for my sins and then we got to grow to be patient.
▶ 23:37 We got to grow to bridle our tongue and bridle [unclear] and keep these good fruits amen. Pentecost I kept it when God filled me with the power of the Holy Spirit. Blowing a trumpet Isaiah said, Isaiah said, lift up, God told Isaiah lift up your voice like a trumpet and tell my people when I share the word of God with God’s people encouraging them to get up and and and grow in God I am keeping the feast of trumpets are you there ain’t no special service there the shadow has been replaced with the real thing can I hear an amen although the day of atonement is me repenting of my present sins how many make mistakes this week yeah I’ll get both hands I gotta go to God oh God you know yeah I had it again that’s the day of atonement I go back and take care of my present mistakes and offenses.
▶ 24:49 And then the feast of tabernacles the feast of harvest I do when I go out and preach the gospel to unsaved people I have led personally [unclear] 1,072 people to Jesus Christ one-on-one just sharing the gospel and that’s the feast of harvest. Hallelujah and they look at me like [unclear] all this stuff you know we keep Easter with a with a Easter bunny an Easter eggs and although had nothing to do with Passover nothing. We invented Christmas at his birth with Christmas trees and wreaths and has nothing to do with his birth. Absolutely nothing.

— Isaiah 58:1 (NKJV)▶ Hear it at 24:02 (quoted; reference not named in the message)Should Christians take time to rest? (Mark 6:30-31)
Short answer: He says “The holidays are just a good time to kick back.” He reads that Jesus told the apostles to come apart into a desert place and rest a while, and says “if Jesus rested and the apostles rested. Shouldn’t we rest,” balancing rest and leisure with productive work.
▶ 25:44 And why can we do those dumb things because we know how to keep the real thing and we know what the real thing is can I hear an amen. The holidays are just a good time to kick back. Mark 6:30 the apostles told Jesus all they had done and talked he had sent them out and he said to the apostles come apart into a desert place and rest a while if Jesus rested and the apostles rested. Shouldn’t we rest now really we got to balance rest and leisure with work. You got to be productive but we need time to rest their self and we need to work when we work.
