God says let justice run down like water. Children face injustice from the womb through home, school and culture, while government advocates for adult behavior. God’s pattern is marriage and family; do justly, love mercy and stand for His law.

How does God describe justice?

▶ Watch this part (19:54)

Short answer: Let justice run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream—as essential as water to life.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 19:54 your precious name amen. You may find your seats in his presence and after that we’re going to have a time of prayer. So we’re going to talk about injustice. Start to finish a journey of justice God in Amos chapter 5 chapter 21. He starts out saying I hate or despise your feast days. And he’s talking to Israel here. And though you offer me burnt offerings and your grain offerings I will not accept them take away from me the noise of your songs then what so we shouldn’t be praising God. For I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments. And he goes on to say let justice run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.

▶ 20:55 See God is equating justice to water. And as you know water is essential to life all over the world. And just like water is essential to life justice is that important. Justice in our government justice in your home justice in the choices you make in the way you treat people. And righteousness like a mighty stream righteousness a mighty stream is something that can be partaken of it it brings life to all it has a direction it’s taking its life out to the earth. And righteousness is just like that when you do good and you treat people right when you treat your kids right you treat your parents right when you treat your neighbor right it is it brings life.

Scripture (NKJV)

Amos 5:21-24 (NKJV)

“I hate, I despise your feast days, And I do not savor your sacred assemblies. Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, Nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings. Take away from Me the noise of your songs, For I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments. But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream.

What does God call us to do?

▶ Watch this part (21:50)

Short answer: Wash yourselves, learn to do good, seek justice, rebuke the oppressor, defend the fatherless and plead for the widow.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 21:50 It’s powerful. And God is calling and saying do not. Make the small things the smaller things the priority when you should be making the big things a priority. That is justice and righteousness and Isaiah 1:16 says wash yourselves make yourselves clean put away the evil. Of your doings before my eyes cease to do evil. And then he goes on to say learn to do good. And the question is what is good. Is it our opinion of good most definitely not seek justice or what justice is right. God’s justice is right.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Isaiah 1:16-17 (NKJV)

“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.

Who decides if a baby is viable?

▶ Watch this part (22:42)

Short answer: He describes babies labeled unviable losing their lives, and Texas’ new law.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 22:42 Rebuke the oppressor well who is the oppressor. Today you guys are being labeled as oppressors. But God’s not talking about you. Defend the fatherless plead for the widow. So to begin with we have here a baby in California I’m sorry we have here a baby this baby is nine weeks old and this is what a baby looks like inside the womb and so from a first person’s point of view I’m going to share the situation we have right now in California. And. If you are you know conceived you. An abortion can be performed on you if you are deemed.

▶ 23:34 Unviable unviable. You’re unviable oh wow. Talk about sticks and stones all of a sudden you’re labeled as unviable and you don’t get to live. Who decides whether you’re viable or unviable basically what you’re that they’re saying is there’s no hard-line rule there’s no hard line uh. Week or month. A doctor decides if you are viable on a case-by-case basis. And I’m I’m I’m giving this in the perspective of you are being born into some person’s body some woman’s body because only women can bear children. And this is what you have to go through. Normally you’re deemed viable at 23 weeks normally and if you weigh at least 500 grams that’s about a pound and 23 weeks is about five and a half months.

▶ 24:36 And this is all according to a law firm. So if you do not meet the criteria above and you’re not wanted for any reason by the person you’re in the woman that you’re in you can lose your life. As you know Texas came out with a law that and when they when they came out with that law abortions fell by 60 percent I just want to point that out. So the government is most definitely not on your side in this case if you’re trying to come out of the womb and live you know if you want you’ve got to face some obstacles as soon as you’re you’re not even breathing yet. If you want to live. And God’s opinion in Jeremiah 1:5 before I formed you in the womb I knew you see this kind of talk this kind of statement tells you that God before you were formed before you had eyes before you had a nose before you had a mouth before you had hands and feet which happens very early on before that I knew you.

What does Scripture say about the unborn?

▶ Watch this part (25:44)

Short answer: Before I formed you I knew you; the law required life for life when a pregnant woman was harmed.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 25:44 I’ve. And before I formed you I knew you. And he says you. Right he labels you as a person. Exodus 21 verse 22 if men fight and hurt a woman with child going to the law here in Exodus she gives birth prematurely and harm follows you shall give life for life eye for eye tooth for tooth burn for burn and this law is saying. That baby in the womb has just as much right to life and I will defend that life God’s law defends. The baby and the woman. This is God’s justice this is God’s opinion not I don’t want to call it an opinion let’s call it a law his commandments right these are these are important things.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

What are a child’s chances of a two-parent home?

▶ Watch this part (26:49)

Short answer: Falling from 73 percent in 1960 to 46 percent in 2014, and government doesn’t advocate for children.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 26:49 So going on you’re trying to grow up as a person. And you are. Your chances of getting in a two-parent household is very low so in 1960 you had a 73 percent chance and 1980 you had a 61 percent chance and and in 2014 you have a 40. Six percent chance now there’s a lot of you know reasons why divorce happens or there’s not two parents in the home but I mean half of the half of the country that’s a lot. And it shouldn’t be we’ve got to make. Marriage and staying together important again. Children from intact two-parent families do better on every measure on every level.

▶ 27:46 Children do better and so people ask this question should the government advocate for children. Does the government advocate for children at this at these two stages no. It doesn’t advocate for children while they’re in the womb it doesn’t I mean you have to overcome obstacles. It doesn’t advocate for children and when you’re breathing and you’re in a home now you’re with somebody’s got to take care of you you’re dependent on someone. The government is advocating for parents bad behaviors. Because we live in a democracy and the democracy says that. The government should support our bad behaviors see that’s the problem with democracy. Whatever the majority says happens.

▶ 28:39 And there’s no standard. Of right and wrong. And that’s why people have been trying to stand up for you know God creating us people have been trying to stand up for creation you know they’re teaching evolution if we didn’t come from God and there is no law no right and wrong then we really don’t need to follow right and wrong. So right now the government is advocating for adults bad choices and bad behaviors. As a child your voice is suppressed. And I say that because children don’t even learn to talk until they’re like you know. One or two so and they’re in the womb for nine months and they’re you know crying and screaming for milk for about a year without no voice.

▶ 29:36 And so who stands up for them and then they get a voice and what are they saying they’re saying google gaga and they don’t know what’s right and wrong they don’t know what truth is they’re not an adult yet their mind has not uh. Matured they’re not 20 years old. So stan your children’s voice is suppressed that’s why I say that and we got to stand up for children. First Corinthians chapter seven verse two nevertheless because of welcome guys good to see you because of sexual immorality let each man have his own wife and let each man have her own husband it says in first Corinthians. And I bring this up because this is God’s solution right to the whole problem it’s to get married and some of us don’t like that solution I can’t stand women I can’t stand men.

What is God’s pattern?

▶ Watch this part (30:38)

Short answer: Marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled; husbands and wives must love one another.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 30:38 I’m not you know I’m saying figuratively. You know some of us have. Whatever your state is right now but if you want to have kids and if you want to be sexually active you’ve got to follow God’s pattern this is the pattern he’s set up Hebrews 13:4 marriage is honorable among all and the bed undefiled but fornicators and adulterers God will judge it’s important God has set up a pattern and a commandment for us to follow. And his way is the best way as much as we may not like it oh my gosh I gotta put up with this person. You know marriage isn’t easy amen. It’s not easy. And you think God this is your solution.

▶ 31:35 But it is and it is the best solution and both. The husband and wife need to love one another. It doesn’t work when one loves and the other does not. We got to make loving each other a priority again we’ve got as Christians we really need to be an example of what a marriage should be the world is getting some people in the world are getting married. And they’re going through problems and stuff but us Christians we should be leading the way you know how should we behave be behaving in marriage she’ll be loved we should be loving each other we should be examples of marriage. Ephesians 6:4. Your and you fathers do not provoke your children to wrath but bring them up in the training and ad munition of the Lord and I’m talking about why it’s so important what God sees as important what is justice to God is for us fathers.

How do we raise children?

▶ Watch this part (32:42)

Short answer: In the training and admonition of the Lord; young women taught to love their children—check your attitude.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 32:42 To bring up train up our children in the fear of the Lord where we are concerned how are we influencing our children. How are we influencing them what are we teaching them by our behavior and by our words Titus 2:4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands. Now fathers don’t have to love their wives but that’s a joke. That they manage young to love their husbands and to love their children. That’s very important love your children. The scriptures say that husbands are to lay down their lives for their family their spouse. And the wife.

▶ 33:35 Loves their children you don’t see you know if you have an attitude toward your children that they are a burden that they are ruining all your fun that they’re ruining your life you better check your attitude and you better change your attitude and if you need help changing your attitude you come to God you come to his scriptures and he’ll help you change. Because that is the truth. So we go on. And. As a girl all girls. Out of all the girls in the u.s 11 percent that’s one in 10 are going to be sexually abused and I want you guys to hear this from a first person point of view you have a two percent chance as a boy to be sexually abused.

What harms children in school years?

▶ Watch this part (34:27)

Short answer: He cites adult sexual contact, early alcohol use and the shift in messages from government and media.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 34:27 In high school you have a seven percent chance of sexual contact from an adult you know people in the school coaches or teachers or yeah adults. And because of this you’re four times likely to abuse drugs four times likely to experience post traumatic stress and three times likely to experience major depress and what it’s saying is this has an effect on people a bad effect and it is not just for us to continue to. Allow the government to promote to advocate for bad adult behaviors because that is what is happening right now. In your home you have a 53 percent chance of parents approving of alcohol marijuana and drugs 22 percent chance of being informed of the risks of marijuana and sex outside of marriage at 60 cents 66 66 chance of parents drinking which is not a good example to your child uh 35 chance of your parents smoking 15 chance your parents using illegal drugs again not a good example.

▶ 35:44 Not what the right way to teach your children that is not God just said to the fathers in the training and fear of the Lord that is not the fear of the Lord. Teaching them all this this stuff the junk that should we got to get out of our lives that’s not what we want to do to our children. And when we do it kids see it when we are an example of something bad they see that and we are teaching our kids to do it you know it’s not like oh I never told my kids that this was okay but you did it and they’re following your example. A five percent chance. Of your parent being concerned about alcohol so that’s very low so five percent of kids are actually you know.

▶ 36:36 Have a good example a chance of using alcohol by the time the average age is 12 years old using alcohol and a 78 percent chance of drinking at someone’s home or sixty six or sixty six percent chance at your own home which should not be parents should be. Making it safe for their children when I was a kid I remember this program it was called dare. And I remember the stickers I remember putting them on my boogie board and some people would have them on their car and the police I was reading about it they would go to a school and they would educate kids on drugs and alcohol and the effects of all these you know even smoking and the effects that it’s gonna have. And uh you know you read about it now and they’re saying this program did not work at all it’s just the results are just not there and yeah I mean my goodness.

▶ 37:37 It may have caused more substance abuse they said when I read about the results and here is the problem you had one source the the police telling you it was wrong and then the rest of the world advertisements. The music was saying that is the best thing on planet earth and it was portrayed in movies and in entertainment like it was wonderful so you had a mixed message you didn’t know who to trust well I’m not going to trust the police officer. I want to do what is fun. Even though it can be it is harmful. It’s a mixed message and they try to blame it that says it doesn’t work but I remember it and I remember. Respecting that the police officers.

▶ 38:29 Actually would say this is not good and for the government to say hey this is not good that is not happening today the opposite is happening. And that was just about 30 what 25 years ago that that was happening the government actually said no to something can you believe that. Today in states they are approving of hard drugs I mean it’s just it’s backwards we should not be. And if you’re someone who is. Drugs have a hold on you. You’ve got to find a solution in Christ for that it is something that God wants to put behind you and he has the power to do it.

What does he say about public school?

▶ Watch this part (39:30)

Short answer: That children are influenced to accept and promote same-sex relationships.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 39:30 So today. We don’t have government going out in there and telling kids that drugs and these kind of things are going to hurt them. Home life this is from a first persons again point of view in eight two years ago in April sb 1004. Uh said that sensitive services are hidden from parents including abortions so my child can and I was in the hospital recently or I was in the doctor’s office and I was reading about this little thing and it said you know we don’t we’re not going to tell your parents. I’m like thinking. What. My daughter. Can go get an abortion they can get transgender hormones they can get sex changes without telling me.

▶ 40:28 I was like that’s horrible. You are you will be influenced by public school to accept and promote same-sex relationships. And I know this is true. And promoted I say promote because that’s what is happening it’s being promoted uh it’s not seen as a negative thing anymore it’s being promoted to something good and it’s in God’s eyes in God’s word it is wrong. You may be influenced by friends family and others to take hormone blockers and sex change surgeries which have irreversible. And permanent effects. And I bring this up because if you’re raised by a lesbian family or raised by two men that again like I said earlier just you living that way is an example to these kids that’s going to have an effect on them you’re influencing them to live like you do.

▶ 41:38 And all the harm that comes with it they don’t tell you that they are always at the doctor getting something treated because of all of the things that come along with this lifestyle. And also. I lost my train of thought. We’re gonna have to go on the scriptures say in Matthew 8:16 whoever causes it one of these little ones who believe in me to sin it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his necks and he would drown in the depths of the sea Jesus really cares about children he really cares about these young ones because they’re easily influenced they’re going to believe what you teach them and tell them and if something is tasty or something is fun or something is better they’re just going to do it.

What did Jesus say about causing little ones to sin?

▶ Watch this part (42:40)

Short answer: Whoever causes one of these little ones to sin faces judgment; correction brings deterrence.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 42:40 And that is not just. Adults we know. We know the consequences. It is not just because they don’t understand. And that’s why. Jesus Christ is saying here whoever is influencing and causing one of these little ones who believe in me to sin families that are influencing their kids to take these transgender hormones and having sex changes and living that lifestyle that brings harm that is not right. Influencing their kids to do drugs to do alcohol because they are doing it they’re a bad example it is not you’re influencing your kid to sin and God has a big problem with that. Proverbs 21 verse 10 when the scoffer is punished the simple is made wise you know.

▶ 43:39 Going back to the abortion law in Texas when people saw that came out 60 there were 60 percent less abortions because people said okay well we got a law here okay there was a lot of deterrence. Uh when people see that there’s correction for something they will not go along with it the simple who’s more simple than a child children are simple they you know have simple minds and that’s fine but they’ve got to see that wrong is there’s correction for wrong. And that’s just basic raising of your children you know every parent. A good parent will correct their child. That’s just basic parenting amen. And you correct them so they know that that.

▶ 44:35 Action is wrong and they shouldn’t do it they’re made wise. The Bible says that children are a heritage from the Lord they’re an inheritance from God from God God is the one who set up Adam and Eve he’s the one who set up reproduction he’s the one who started this whole thing you know God doesn’t have to go and make every little person he set up the man and the woman to be. Procreate reproduce all day boom it’s happening today there’s babies being born because God set it up it is our inheritance and God is entrusting that with us. To raise them and the nurturing the ass nurture and admonition of the Lord the fruit of the womb is a reward. And we do not treat our children like they are a reward we treat them or we can treat them like a burden and mistreat them.

▶ 45:38 The government is making it difficult to raise children in today’s world to be able to bring in you know. To be able to have a two-parent home with somebody staying home with the kids you got to be making a lot of money. And that’s hard today. The government makes it hard with all the high costs that we’re going I mean I mean I just like from in six months things skyrocket I’m like what what is happening here that’s not good for the family that’s not good for anyone. Amen. God has entrusted parents. To be responsible to take responsibility for their children by 18 you have 50 percent chance of having sex and we all know why that is.

What is God’s solution for young people?

▶ Watch this part (46:35)

Short answer: Let each man have his own wife; prepare your work, get a skill and provide for yourself.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 46:35 By 19 7 out of 10 teens have had sex. The most common reasons for abstaining were it was against my religion or morals and I haven’t found a second is I haven’t found the right person uh third I don’t want to get a female pregnant you see that third one is like logic you know I don’t want to get into trouble but entertainment though all the sources of information out there are not sharing any of the downsides of all this stuff. And it’s happening to a lot a lot of the young people growing up. Fifty percent that is a lot of young people seven out of ten that is a lot of young people they’re not being taught to save yourself for marriage.

▶ 47:29 So going back to first Corinthians. Because of sex women let each man have his own wife and let each woman have her own husband see this is again God’s solution also in Proverbs 24:27 prepare your outside work make it fit for yourself in the field and afterward build your house see God’s pattern is not go and have sex first and then uh have a home and then when you’re all done with that get married and then. You got it mixed up. We got to get it in the right order right. And if we’ve messed up we can change we can adjust we can get back on the right road but God’s pattern is prepare your outside work you young teens recognize this prepare your outside work that means prepare yourself.

▶ 48:22 Get a skill get a job get uh you know if you want to own your own business fine but you gotta find a way to work uh provide for yourself and live independently not mom and dad or the government taking care of you you want to have a goal set a goal do you have a goal when I was 12 years old I was asked what are you doing when you grow up what job are you going for I was like I don’t know. And uh it wasn’t kind it wasn’t like that was more like uh I don’t know what there’s all this pressure on me easy now. But it made me think it made me set a goal and I set a goal and I reached that goal if you don’t set a goal you’re never going to reach a goal you never set.

▶ 49:19 If you aim for nothing you’re going to hit it every time. As the saying goes. If you want to be sexually active get married to get married you want to be able to provide for your home you need a skill you need so you got to take these steps. ▶ Watch this part (53:13)

Short answer: His ways are higher than ours; His way is perfect and His law converts the soul.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 53:13 To bring justice back to our country. Scriptures say in Isaiah 55 for as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts then your thoughts I bring this up because there is so much debate there is so much discussion to come to some kind of agreement. Just the statement that a two-parent household is uh children do better in took a lot of data a lot of research and there’s all this talk and it takes maybe years and years to come to this conclusion when you can just go to God’s word. And he says it in about two sentences. That’s what God is saying he’s already summed up all the best results.

▶ 54:09 All the best ways you could live your life are here in his book. His ways are higher than our ways. As uh worship team comes ii Samuel 22 verse 28 as for God his way is perfect the word of the Lord is proven. Uh some of us really don’t like. I mean they say out there they don’t want to get God’s word involved in politics injustice but it needs to. Because right now it’s just going to keep going worse and worse and worse because there is no right and wrong. And we’ve got to come back to the standard the word of the Lord is proven his way is perfect.

▶ 55:03 The law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul the statue of the lord’s the statutes of the Lord are right the commandment of the Lord is pure the fear of the Lord is clean it’s more to be desired than gold ye than much fine gold maybe some of us don’t desire what the law of the Lord I want that. But we need to desire it because it is the best thing for our country it is the best thing for your home it is the best thing for your life it is the best thing for your children. Justice for God’s law. Justice according to his word. And in keeping them there is great reward. And Amos going back to the first verse Amos chapter 5 verse 24 let justice run down like water God is calling us to let justice.

▶ Watch this part (56:06)

Short answer: To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable than sacrifice—stand up for God’s law.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 56:06 Run down like water whose justice his justice. Justice according to what his word his law. And he likens justice to water it is essential to life in our country and in every country on this planet. And righteousness like a mighty stream righteousness is again something that you can partake of when somebody treats you right you just had a wonderful mighty stream enter you and touch you oh somebody said hi handshake gave you a smile cheetah treated you right my goodness. Or if you’re a child. And your parent treated you right. Your parent took time this year to treat you right to raise your right.

To do this the scriptures. Say that we have to read you have to have knowledge of the Bible you’ve got to get the word in you. So that you know what is right from wrong. So I encourage you this morning God is challenging us. To change things in our country to bring justice back according to his word to bring justice back in your house to bring justice back in your personal life. Your decisions that you make every day.

And I’m going to ask miss Woods to go ahead and sing it. Oh no. Oh okay I’m sorry. The Lord the Lord is perfect. Rejoicing the heart. The commandments. The commandment of the Lord is pure.

▶ 59:41 Enlightening the eyes. Also then. I’d like to invite you to stand. And God let this come home to you in your mind in your heart and your decisions that you make every day. And God repeatedly he says that he is looking for. Righteousness and justice from his people. The church can help us grow and to someone who is living righteously the scriptures also say that he who practice righteousness is righteous if we’re not practicing it today will you at least commit to say God I’m gonna start practicing your righteousness.

▶ 1:00:51 If you’re not practicing justice today will you at least say God I want to do justly starting today. So let’s lift up our voices right now as we invite Jesus. What does communion proclaim?

▶ Watch this part (1:04:40)

Short answer: The Lord’s death; the cup is the new covenant in His blood and He is the bread of life.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 1:04:40 And righteous all together moreover by them. Moreover by them is thy servant. And I served. There is great reward. We’re going to take communion this morning and then ask the communion folks to serve it out. And we want to remind you this morning what the scriptures say in first Corinthians chapter 11 26 for whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup you proclaim the lord’s death until he comes and the lord’s death is very important because that’s where it all begins if you want to believe in Christ you’ve got to believe in the lord’s death.

▶ 1:05:43 The lord’s burial and his resurrection. And when we do this communion it proclaims to the world. The lord’s death. The cup it says this cup this cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this whenever you drink of it in remembrance of me so this morning as you drink drink remember that Jesus Christ shed his blood for our sin in first John two verse one it says if anyone sins we have an advocate with the father Jesus Christ the righteous why because he shed his blood we may have made a mistake we may have messed up we may have sinned but we can come back into right relationship with God because of what he did on the cross because of this cup the new blood that we have the new covenant we have in his blood.

▶ 1:06:41 So. Let’s take our cup. And let’s drink together. Boom. Before we do that let’s pray and ask God to bless this cup. Paul would you pray for the cup please. Amen. First Corinthians chapter 11 24.

▶ 1:07:41 He says of the bread take eat this is my body which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me. Jesus said in John chapter 6 verse 35 I am the bread of life and whoever comes to me shall not hunger whoever believes in me shall never thirst he says I am the living bread that came down from heaven if anyone eats of this bread will live forever and the bread that I will give you for. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh the scriptures also say that if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. I. Encourage you this morning. We’ve got to put Christ in us not just the bread that we’re holding in our hands but his truth.

▶ 1:08:38 The decisions that we make to follow him that is putting Christ in you when you say Jesus yes I’ve got a hundred thousand problems in my life I’ve got a hundred thousand issues and a hundred thousand things I’m doing wrong but when you say God today I’m gonna start following you I’m gonna start putting you in me. That makes a powerful difference. If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation old things have passed away all things have become new when you follow him and seek him he makes a change in your life so let’s take and eat of this bread before we do that I’m going to ask someone to pray for the bread. Mary will you play for the bread just ask God to bless it as we partake of it.

▶ 1:09:34 Lord Jesus we thank you this morning we thank you for your sacrifice for us on the cross we thank you Jesus for the body the church we thank you Jesus that you gave your life for us God. And Lord that today as Christians when we put when we are in Christ when we put you inside of us when we partake of you God you make the world of a difference in our lives. And God we pray and thank you bless this as we partake of let’s eat together. Go ahead and sing what you’re saying. Of Jesus. Oh the blood of Jesus.
