From the sermonHow People with Faith in God Responded to a Miracle — June 6, 2021 · Pastor David G. Kincer▶ 0:00

Pastor David G. Kincer walks through John 9 and how people who believed in God responded when Jesus opened the eyes of a man born blind. Nobody had faith for the healing; the man believed after Jesus spoke to him, testified about what he experienced, and was cast out. He says faith is overemphasized, tells how he was saved at an altar in Norwalk, California, and calls the church to invite Jesus through praise, assembling, prayer and the word.

Were Paul and Silas praying for deliverance in prison?

▶ Watch this part (0:04)

Short answer: No. They were just seeking God, singing hymns and praising their master; we are to seek Jesus no matter what we go through.

▶ 0:04 We’d like to welcome you this morning thank you for joining us we’re going to get right into the scriptures start with our scripture reading in acts chapter 16 verse. 25. It is the time when Paul and Silas were thrown into prison it says at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God and the prisoners were listening to them suddenly there was a great earthquake so the foundations of the prisons were shaken and immediately all the doors were open and everyone’s chains were loosed the keeper of the prison awakened from sleep. Supposing the prisoners had fled drew his sword was about to kill himself he said do yourself no harm. And later that man was saved in his whole household. What I want to point out here this morning is Paul and Silas were not praying for deliverance.

▶ 0:59 They were not praying for a miracle. They were not in the prison saying God’s going to save us God’s going to do something oh God’s going to do a miracle God deliver it they were just. Seeking God. They were just singing hymns. Praising their God. Like the scripture says it says seek ye first the kingdom of God and these men were just singing and praising their master. I submit to you this morning. We as a church and the church in America. We’ve got to remember that it is Jesus whom we are seeking it is God who we want to come and no matter what we have to go through we are to seek Jesus the king of kings the Lord of lords.

And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”

What happened when the woman touched His garment?

▶ Watch this part (29:52)

Short answer: She knew that if she could just touch the hem of His garment virtue would flow; it still works in the kingdom today: reach out and touch Him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 29:52 Oh thank you thank you. Lord. Just one touch from the key. Changes. Everything. Just one touch from the changes. In. Just one touch from a king.

▶ 30:45 Changes. Everything. Everything. We. Just one touch from our key. Changes. One touch from the key. Changes. Just. He touched.

▶ 33:55 And made. Me. Jesus. A woman with the issue of blood. Had spent all of her money all of her wealth on doctors. With no success. She came to Jesus. Got on her hands and knees. Worked her way through the crowd that was surrounding Jesus. For multitudes surrounding him and multitudes were touching him.

▶ 34:52 But this woman knew. That if she could just touch the hem of his garment. Virtue would flow from Jesus to her and she would be healed. So in a worship bowing kneeling position she. Come to the master. Reached out and touched his garment. And just as she knew the virtue of the power of God flowed from Christ into her and her death sentence was changed to a life sentence. She went away a person destined to die to a person destined to live for eternity with Jesus Christ just one touch Paul.

▶ 35:46 The chiefest of sinners. Because he persecuted the church and blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Yet Jesus came and touched Paul. Smote him with blindness and spoken to him that he was the Lord that he was persecuting. And that one visitation. Of Jesus to Paul changed him from the world’s worst sinner to the chiefest of the apostles. And the Holy Spirit would speak unto all of his people in this day and this hour whatever your need is whatever complications surround you whatever condition of spirit and life you are in one touch of the master will change that forever.

▶ 36:44 It still works in the kingdom today reach out and touch. Him. He touched me. Oh. He touched me. And all. The joy. That fuzz my soul.

▶ 37:38 Something. Happened. Guilt and shame. Then the hand of Jesus touch me. And I am no longer.

▶ 38:35 The same. He touched me. Oh. He touched me. And all. The joy that fuzzed my soul. Something. Happened. And now. I know. He touched me. And made. Me. Since I met the blessed.

Like Paul and Silas God they were they were singing in the prison God just blessing your name. And Lord trying to reach the prisoners that could hear them. Always trying to seek ye first the kingdom of God Lord Jesus we pray Lord God that we would take on that character God. Seeking you above first above everything else and we thank you this wonderful day and we ask you bless this word God.

Scripture (NKJV)

Mark 5:25-29 (NKJV)

Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.

Why does he keep returning to John 20?

▶ Watch this part (43:22)

Short answer: The signs are written so you may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; flesh and blood didn’t reveal that to Peter, the Father did.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 43:22 Everyone said amen amen you may find your seats. Okay we’re going to continue talking from John chapter 20 verse 30. Many signs many miracles did Jesus in the presence of his disciples. Which are not written in this book of John. But these are written in the book of John. So that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ the son of God and that by believing that Jesus is the Christ the son of God you may have life abundant life here on earth and eternal life to come in his name his name.

▶ 44:21 Peter said to Jesus you are the Christ the son of the living God exactly what John said would happen. And Jesus turned to Peter and said Peter flesh and blood didn’t reveal that to you that didn’t come by intellect that didn’t come by going to some uh Bible seminary or or belonging to some religious group that came because my father in heaven revealed that to you and christianity is the only. Religion in this earth where God is involved amen. That’s what separates us and makes the difference. So today we’re going to take a another look at this sickness versus sin sign. And we’re going to. Answer this question how do people with faith in God respond to a miracle.

Did anyone in John 9 have faith for the blind man to be healed?

▶ Watch this part (45:17)

Short answer: No. Not the man, his parents, the neighbors or the Pharisees; faith didn’t die on the cross, grace didn’t die on the cross, Jesus Christ died on that cross.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 45:17 Or how people. When Jesus did this miracle of open the blinded eyes how did they respond they had faith with God had faith in God how they did how did they respond and we can learn from these things. In John chapter 9. We have the story unfolding. There was a blind man born blind from birth. Jesus came and opened his eyes the neighbors were there to see the new man others who weren’t his neighbors were there who knew he was blind and saw the new man the changed man. The Pharisees. The parents of the boy.

▶ 46:13 How did she respond how did they respond and of course the Jews they’re always around here how do these people respond to a miracle that Jesus did. Well first of all. As you know in chapter 9 and in other places when Jesus did things people did not have faith. Regardless of the of the priority. Put on faith since I was a young Christian boy if you believe if you had enough faith if you just had enough faith. Regardless. Of the priority put on faith you would think that faith died on the cross the way the Christians promote faith could that be an amen that isn’t amen. Faith didn’t die on that cross grace didn’t die on that cross Jesus Christ died on that cross.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 9:1-7 (NKJV)

Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

Does God heal people while the word is preached?

▶ Watch this part (47:10)

Short answer: In Africa, he says, God would heal, fill and save people right while he preached, with no laying on of hands and no theatrics.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 47:10 Amen. And faith comes from him and from hearing the word it doesn’t come by us conjuring up faith. And none of these people the blind man wasn’t looking to be healed the parents weren’t looking for him to be healed the Pharisees of course they never even thought about God doing a miracle healing anybody. Are you with me. The neighbors even though they felt sorry for him and the others because he was blind nobody had faith for him to be healed. Just like it was at the pool when Jesus walked through that multitude at the pool nobody had faith that he was going to heal anyone and he went to one person. And don’t be surprised in a church service when I was in Africa. Very unique thing in Africa you as you were preaching the word God would heal people fill them with the baptism of the Holy Ghost get them saved right where you were preaching.

What if Jesus passes me by on Sunday?

▶ Watch this part (48:13)

Short answer: He may not meet with you for four Sundays; He wants to know if you’ll hang in there. One touch lasts until He comes back.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 48:13 Then they’d come up at the end and and say what God had done. While you were preaching the word no laying down of hands no nothing no theatrics just God doing things are you with me hallelujah and Jesus walked over this whole multitude and he may pass you by one Sunday he may not meet with you for four Sundays. He wants to know if you’re going to hang in there whether he’s going to come to you or not could that be an amen you know the the difference in the visitation of God was 13 years from Solomon first visitation to his second one. Are you there. See people are going to follow God whether he’s visiting or not when they have one touch one visit it’s gonna last until he comes back and touches them again yes give God a clap offering he deserves it he is God he is Lord.

Does God need our faith?

▶ Watch this part (49:18)

Short answer: God don’t need your faith; He needs you to respond to His word and His presence when He comes to you.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 49:18 The woman at the well she wasn’t there for Christ to reveal her whole past and give her eternal life and waters of life. She had no faith at all. And the five thousand fed with the few loaves and the fishes they had no faith at all the apostles didn’t have any faith when Jesus said hey you guys feed these guys they go what. The apostles didn’t have any faith the people didn’t have any faith God don’t need your faith he needs you to respond to his word and his presence when he comes to you. Hallelujah. That’s what works your response of heart not your confidence in your faith and confidence in the grace of God you come for him that was an excellent worship service this morning.

When did the blind man get faith?

▶ Watch this part (50:16)

Short answer: After Jesus came to him and spoke the word “go wash”; faith comes by hearing the word of God.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 50:16 This blind man got faith after Jesus came to him Jesus came to the blind. Man. Put clay in his eyes that’s not nice. Come on anywhere you look at that’s not nice you’re going to put dirt in my eyes. I can’t see to begin with and now my eyes are burning. But he got faith when Christ spoke the word. Go wash in the pool that blind man with clay in his eyes got up by faith that Christ brought when he spoke the word faith comes by hearing what the word of God and he wants to come personally to you and speak to you in a service he wants to come personally to you and speak to you not he just he doesn’t want to come like us pentecostals and charismatics and and even non-pentecostals to make us feel good about ourselves he comes to talk to you.

Will I like the changes God makes?

▶ Watch this part (51:26)

Short answer: You may not; but when you respond to the word He speaks personally to you, it changes your life.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 51:26 Encourage you strengthen you and change you. And you may not feel good about some of the changes he wants to make. Could that be an amen. You may not be happy about it at all. But when you respond to that word he speaks personally to you it changes your life. That man went and he washed the clay out of his eyes. The neighbors and the others the others are people that weren’t the neighbors. They knew this man had been blind. They knew it this is better than a doctor’s verification is I witnessed they lived with this man they saw him year after year being blind they were eyewitnesses that this guy was blind.

Why did the neighbors notice?

▶ Watch this part (52:21)

Short answer: They were eyewitnesses that he had been blind; his changed life got their attention, and God can use you coming out of suffering to touch others.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 52:21 And now he sees. And. Jesus got their attention. Just like it said. In John chapter 20. He does these things so you might believe he is the Christ the messiah and the son of God and through this miracle and this change in this man’s life he got the neighbor’s attention he got the other’s attention who he didn’t have any attention of before. Are you out there is it worth going through some suffering that God can use you coming out of that suffering to touch others. Yeah but we don’t like suffering. We don’t like changes. We want everything to just smooth sailing no hurricanes on the seas no big waves just smooth sailing Lord.

What is the best thing we have in evangelism?

▶ Watch this part (53:19)

Short answer: What God has done in your life; the man spoke up and said “a man called Jesus” did it. Americans don’t evangelize anymore.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 53:19 I don’t know if you read your Bible lately but that ain’t going to happen. The storms are going to come the winds are going to blow and he wants to show forth his glory in you and get your neighbors and your friends and the other people’s attention. And so. He had a time now to testify with what God had done in his life. He could keep silent or he could speak up. And the man spoke up and said a man called Jesus. Anointed my eyes with clay and said go wash. And the best thing you’ve got to offer people in evangelism is what God has done in your life when your neighbors and others knew who you were and now they know who you are.

▶ 54:18 They will inquire Paul says of the hope that is within you and it gives you a chance to give God the credit Jesus a man called Jesus. Are you there chuck. Americans don’t evangelize anymore. Back in the day when I got saved you couldn’t go anywhere without somebody handing you a tract telling you Jesus loves you. Am I right you’re open absolutely now no one ever bothers you we just got a whole nation of silent saints on our hands per se and we’re we’re content with that and so he gave his testimony. Do you give yours.

Is it okay not to know everything?

▶ Watch this part (55:10)

Short answer: Yes. The man said “I don’t know”; the Spirit is like the wind. He just knew he’d been touched and changed.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 55:10 As little as you may think it is you know salvation is a pretty big testimony. It’s a pretty big miracle that God can get your attention. And draw you to him and save you and give you eternal life that’s a very big testimony and it’s a very big miracle. And so when he said Jesus did it they said where is this Jesus see they want to they want to find this Jesus now they’re interested in Jesus they weren’t interested in Jesus before but through this changed life they want to know where Jesus is isn’t that beautiful. Hallelujah. And the man says I don’t know. Church we don’t know everything. You know the wind bloweth where it.

Can you have faith in God without knowing God?

▶ Watch this part (56:02)

Short answer: Yes; the healed man had faith there was a God but did not know God, and many Christians in America are the same. Eternal life is to know Him.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 56:02 Wants to blow and all that. The Bible says and the spirit is just like it we don’t know where the wind comes from where the wind is going and the spirit’s just like that there’s things that we don’t know we just know we’ve been touched and we’ve been changed. Hallelujah. He didn’t have all this knowledge of Jesus Christ he didn’t have all this knowledge of the messiah he just knew a man named Jesus came and changed his life. The Bible says that eternal life in John 17:3 is to know God the only true God and his son Jesus even though this man was healed he did not know Jesus he did not know God he had faith in God he had faith there was a God but he did not know God are you with me do you know how many Christians in America have faith in God but don’t know God and they have faith in Jesus and they don’t know Jesus.

▶ 57:04 It’s very serious situation and we should be getting the word out that you can know him amen you can touch him. He is the life changer not some mega church pastor not some great book author Jesus is still the life. Changer. So they take him to the Pharisees. Okay the religious leaders they take him to the Pharisees. They had all the right doctrine. The Bible says but they didn’t do. The right doctrine. That they said they believed in do we have a nation full of those kind of Christians today yeah they believe in Jesus they believe in the second coming they believe he died on the cross for the sins of the world.

▶ 57:58 But they don’t follow his teaching in fact many of them will say we’re not under law we’re under. Grace don’t have to live by his laws. That’s nice and convenient. No responsibility no accountability all you have to do is believe and live the way you want that’s so convenient isn’t it. So they take him to the Pharisees they believed in spirits they believed in life after death not like the Sadducees. But they didn’t. Do. What the scripture said to do they were hypocrites they said and they did not Jesus called him hypocrite. They say and they did not. So the Pharisees.

Why did the Pharisees say Jesus wasn’t from God?

▶ Watch this part (58:51)

Short answer: Because He healed on the Sabbath; they didn’t understand the Sabbath is both a civil law and a shadow law to cease from your own spiritual work.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 58:51 After hearing this says Jesus is not from God because he broke the Sabbath he healed a man on the Sabbath open the blinded eyes just like he did back there at the pool the crippled guy on the Sabbath and they’re so worried about this Sabbath. Commandment that they say Jesus is not of God because he broke their Sabbath day law that they did not even understand. The Sabbath day law is both a civil law rest from work and a shadow law to enter into his rest and cease from your own spiritual work. Are you with me say they didn’t understand that. The others spoke up here’s these others again not the neighbors but the others they knew the man was blind.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 9:16 (NKJV)

Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.

Why did the parents keep silent?

▶ Watch this part (59:50)

Short answer: They feared being put out of the synagogue; many Christians today are afraid to speak out for Jesus for fear of losing jobs or friends.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 59:50 And they said listen. How can a sinner do signs. They challenge the religious. Leaders how can a sinner do a sign how can a sinner open the blinded eyes. So they called the parents in. And they asked the parents was your son born born blind and the parents feared the Jews. Feared the Jews and said he was born blind but we don’t know how he sees he’s of age ask him because they didn’t want to be kicked out of the synagogue they loved their church they loved their religion. And they wouldn’t say anything because they didn’t want and they were afraid of these Jews.

▶ 1:00:46 Who kicked anybody out of the synagogue for believing in Jesus Christ the messiah that God promised to come and church in America we have the same thing the church so many Christians are afraid of the homosexuals. They’re afraid of the abortionist people they’re afraid of the socialists they’re afraid of the liberals they’re afraid of these people because if they speak out for Jesus they can lose their job or they’ll lose friends you know if you’re in Hollywood you won’t get. Any. Movies to make if you’re in business people are going to shun you and all that they are afraid to speak up the living word of God today can that be true yes. And atheism is a religion by the way the supreme court said it was decades ago.

▶ 1:01:44 When you want to talk anything about God whether you believe in God or you don’t believe in Jesus or whatever when you start talking about a deity you become a religion. And we get afraid of the science religion the evolutionist religion we get afraid to speak up that God created this earth instantly. From nothing. Hallelujah. Afraid of how people are going to act and respond kick us out of their group. So. The Jews said all confessing Jesus was if that Jesus was the Christ would be put out of the synagogue they feared the Jews because of that this is not just Jewish leaders these are the people attending the synagogue.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 9:20-22 (NKJV)

His parents answered them and said, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind; but by what means he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself.” His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

Did the Pharisees understand the Messiah?

▶ Watch this part (1:02:42)

Short answer: They were looking for Him the way they wanted; many are looking for Christ’s return the way they figured it out, and He’s going to shock us all.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:02:42 The Pharisees said. Jesus was a sinner now the Bible says there was no sin in him. God cannot lie God cannot do evil and these Pharisees and they know the scriptures. They know the messiah was to come they know the prophet they knew the prophet was to come and the king was to come they were looking for this man. But they were looking for him in the way they wanted him to come. Isn’t that the way it is also in America so many Christians are looking for Christ’s second return in the way they figured it out and how many of you know he’s going to shock us all. Yeah you think you’ve got it figured out wait until it happens he’s just going to shock us. All. Because you can’t understand scriptures until he opens them up you can’t intellectually go to that Bible and figure out future things unless he opens your understanding do you understand that hallelujah.

What did the healed man say Jesus was?

▶ Watch this part (1:03:48)

Short answer: A prophet; he testified again for a Jesus he didn’t even know yet, but he knew what he had experienced.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:03:48 Calling Jesus a sinner I mean Jesus is God folks Jesus was God in the flesh and they’re calling their God a sinner. So the blind man says whether he’s a sinner or not. All I know is I can see. And they said well what are you calling me I said and the blind man said he’s a prophet he has to be a prophet and the prophet was promised the prophet the king the priest and the messiah was promised to come and Jesus was all of them. So he’s testified again he spoke up again for Jesus that he didn’t even know yet. This guy is testifying. And standing up in the middle of a test. For Jesus that he did not even know but he knew what he had experienced.

Didn’t they know where Jesus was from?

▶ Watch this part (1:04:47)

Short answer: They knew: shepherds, wise men, a virgin birth and John’s birth were big news thirty years earlier. They just didn’t believe it.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:04:47 So they said you’re his disciples and we are Moses’ disciples we know God spoke to Moses now they don’t know that they weren’t there when God came down and spoke to Moses they simply believed what Moses wrote that God spoke to Moses. Are you amen. You see. They simply believed it. Just like they could have believed. Jesus Christ was sent by God and was speaking for God. So we don’t know where Jesus is from well that’s shocking. 30 years before. Shepherds had a vision from heaven went and saw the messiah and went through the whole region telling everybody that night left their sheep unattended and telling everybody that night that the messiah the son of God the king of Israel was born.

▶ 1:05:53 Sometime later the wise men come from the east and disturbed all of Jerusalem and the whole surrounding area looking for the king of the Jews. I mean was noised about I mean come on. And they found him in a manger. In a stable and worshiped him and gave gifts to. Him. Or they found him in a house I’m sorry I’m a little old. At 78 you’ve got to excuse me every once in a while. He was in a house he wasn’t in a manger that’s religious people’s teaching. Folks 30 years later. In between that visitation a virgin conceived a child that was big news 30 years ago a virgin conceived a child John the baptist was born to a woman that was past the age of childbearing all that news was there.

Is the emphasis on faith overdone?

▶ Watch this part (1:06:56)

Short answer: He says the faith thing is way overdone and is hindering Christians; you can say you have something by faith but you don’t have it until you got it.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:06:56 30 years had gone by they knew this stuff they rejected it and they had the audacity to say we don’t know where Jesus is from they knew they just didn’t believe it can I hear an amen. People don’t believe it today but it’s still real amen. Now. The man says I was blind. And now I see. If he was not of God he could do nothing. This man is standing up for his experience with Jesus Christ without knowing who Jesus Christ is and without faith that he is the son of God that he is the messiah he doesn’t have that faith yet are you with me this faith thing is way overdone.

▶ 1:07:56 And it’s hindering and crippling a lot of Christians from their inheritance from God. They think their inheritance stops at faith. Even if they don’t have received something they believe they got it by faith and they don’t have it and they won’t say they don’t have it. That was a good statement did you get that yes yeah I just got it by faith well you know I got a million dollars by faith. Now. My wife is good at writing checks man she’d go to the bank and write that check man I’m going to spend that money guess what there’s no million dollars there but honey I believe God I believe I got a million dollars. Jesus and she’ll say buck up man back up boy.

Why did they cast him out?

▶ Watch this part (1:08:53)

Short answer: Because they thought, who are you to teach us? You don’t have to be a minister to have that superior attitude; look in the mirror.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:08:53 Are you with me. See we can say we have something by faith but you don’t have it until you got it. If he was not of God he could do nothing. Then they of course turned around are you teaching us. Who do you think you are blind from birth. Out begging. And you are teaching us. And let me tell you folks you don’t have to be a pastor evangelist prophet teacher and apostle to have that attitude you can just be a Christian that thinks you’re superior to everybody else you’re going to teach us anything. Are you there yeah look in the mirror.

Scripture in this part

When did the blind man believe?

▶ Watch this part (1:09:49)

Short answer: When Jesus found him again and said He was the Son of God; it didn’t happen in the sequence everybody tells you.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:09:49 And they cast him out. They cast the guy out. Now here. As the musicians come Jesus came again to this man in the temple Jesus found him and came to him again. And Jesus spoke to him and Jesus said this do you believe. In the son of God. And the blind man says. Who is he. And Jesus said I am the Christ the messiah the son of God the prophet the king. Everything that God promised I am him and immediately when he heard that word faith comes by hearing what the word when he heard that word that Jesus was the son of God.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

John 9:35-38 (NKJV)

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?” He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.” Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him.

How was Pastor Kincer saved?

▶ Watch this part (1:10:56)

Short answer: Raised a Christian, he believed in God but didn’t know Him; Jesus told him “if you don’t respond tonight I’m going to leave you alone,” and he went to the altar to find out if it was real.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:10:56 He believed. Now he believed. Just like John said would happen it happened and it didn’t happen in the sequence that everybody tells you it’s got to happen you got to believe first. When I got saved folks I tell you I did not get saved by faith. I had been raised a Christian. I believed in God just like this blind man I believed in God but I didn’t know God. Okay I would stand up for Jesus Christ when people would argue I’d stand up I’m an unbeliever I mean I believed in God but I don’t know him and I would stand up for him. But when I went to that altar one night in a little Assembly of God church in Norwalk, California. God came to me I had been in that church I’ve been sitting in that church for almost a year listening and the the preaching back there was really lacking outside of sin and salvation and baptism and holy God the basic doctrines the teaching was really lacking.

What happened at the altar?

▶ Watch this part (1:12:06)

Short answer: An old man had him read the Scriptures with his own name in them, and he found Jesus was real; God came again at his water baptism.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:12:06 And so I rejected every time God would tug me to come I would reject it but this night this is what. Jesus came and said to me. He said son if you don’t respond tonight I’m going to leave you alone. That shocked me. And so my scientific mind said this I say I believe in the scientific method you have a question you test it and you come up with a conclusion so I said in my mind I’m going to go up there and I’m going to answer this altar call I’m going to find out if this is real or not. I didn’t say boy I got faith God’s going to save me tonight God’s going to change my life tonight and I went up to find out if this thing was real and folks when that old man knelt with me by that altar opened his Bible up and had me read the scriptures he didn’t quote them to me he had me read them and that was powerful all of sin comes short of the glory of God bam the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is Jesus Christ bam.

▶ 1:13:23 If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness bam I’m reading the words and he would make me put my name in there. See if Dave Kincer confesses his sin. Jesus Christ is faithful and just to forgive David Kincer, man he made it and I’m telling you every time I spoke to bam bam that spirit that word would just ignite my life and when I prayed the sinner’s prayer that he quoted me to pray. He told me to. Quote I found Jesus was real I could not believe it I had never heard you could know God and all of my days being raised as a Christian I’d either my ears were dull to it or they just never preached that you could really know God and yet Jesus came and revealed himself to me that night I got water baptized the next Sunday and God came to me again in that water baptism powerful.

Do I have to wait for Jesus to come to me?

▶ Watch this part (1:14:32)

Short answer: No. You can invite Him by praise, worship, assembling together, prayer and the Scriptures.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Pastor David G. Kincer

▶ 1:14:32 Just powerful presence of God and then I got filled with the Holy Ghost. And of course. Then I believed. I had faith it came from God. Now. The question is do you want Jesus to come to you. Do you want Jesus. To speak to you. Do you want Jesus to change your life it doesn’t matter if you’ve been a Christian for 10 years we can all use. Some changing some encouraging and some strengthening am I right. Yeah I’m 78 and I still need to meet with God if nothing else to refresh the old things that I’m getting dull to okay and cold too I need them refresh.

▶ 1:15:36 So there is a way you don’t have to wait for Jesus to come to you you can invite him. By praising him by worshiping him by assembling together by prayer and by scriptures you can invite Jesus to come to you. He inhabits the praises of his people Psalm says you praise him you speak of his you can’t say nothing bad about Jesus he’s nothing good if you’re depressed just praise Jesus you can’t find anything negative to talk about about Jesus he’s the great I am the king of kings the Lord of lords he has all authority in heaven and earth anything you say about him is nothing but uplifting and it will bring you right out of your depression could that be an amen and he will come and speak to you and touch you. Worship.

▶ 1:16:29 Jesus said the father seeking. For people that will worship him in spirit and truth he’s looking for worshipers ah there’s a worshiper I’m gonna go down and touch out. Amen we don’t have to wait we can invite him. Assembling together where two or three are gathered together I am in the midst hey father. There’s a couple of people down there they’re assembling unto me unto him. Shall the gathering of the people be and now what the scripture said in Genesis. Unto him shall the gathering of the people be as it said not for miracles not for anything else though you may need one but you know miracles and everything you need comes from him so you seek him.

▶ 1:17:22 Hallelujah. And Christians today won’t assemble. Together. Or if they do they just believe it’s them and their wife and them too no more Acts 2:4 we’re sufficient we don’t need anybody else. If you seek him Jeremiah said he will be found of you father they’re praying down there they’re fasting. I gotta go down and touch them I gotta go down and speak to them they’re actually. Amen. And then of course. The word of God. The word of God. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.
