All Scripture is inspired and essential to the Christian walk. The world’s wisdom cannot answer Jesus, and twisting Scripture leads to destruction. We are saved by grace for good works, will appear before Christ’s judgment seat, and must love God and people—practicing righteousness.

Why is the Bible essential?

▶ Watch this part (0:02)

Short answer: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God—essential from the beginning of the Christian walk to the end.

▶ 0:02 We want to thank you again for joining us and we’d like to encourage you this morning how important it is uh people all throughout the Bible worship God and uh submitted unto him we just we’ like to enforce that here at the vine cluster church because we know that it is so important for your growth to become a worshipper so powerful it’s essential you’ve heard of the essential workers during co well these are the essential things for growing in God. Right uh it can bring great deliverance in your life and you want to become a person who regularly worships God and praise and gives thanks and honor to him it will bring a lot of healing to your spirit and your soul it’s proven throughout the scriptures and uh if you don’t believe me you can go find all these examples it’s there in the Bible we’re going to keep talking about the word we’re talking about what is a Christian or how we know that we can be Christians how we um uh all the things that are related to that we talked first about the church in antioch we looked at Jesus’s example we looked at Paul’s example and how he said to imitate him we’re looking at the word and how important that is in being a Christian.

▶ 1:31 2 Timothy 3:16 as a review of last week we said all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine profitable for reproof for correction for instruction in righteousness um there was a saying that we used to say you know when you can answer and say the Bible says as an answer you know that you’re on the right track and that’s what the scripture is saying when we talk about truths and have truths in the Bible you want to have it backed up in the word not just somebody sayings amen we’re living our life according to his word that the man of God may be complete wow I was reading this the other day and I was reminded of how important the word the scriptures are to bring you to complete.

▶ 2:31 From the beginning of your Christ Christian walk to the end that word of God is so essential and important as the little kid here is. Expressing to bring you to completion to bring you to maturity to bring you the whole way thoroughly equipped for every good work the word of God will equip you for every good work. Joshua 1:18 keep this book of the law you will be prosperous and successful so if we keep God’s word and the book of the law as Joshua says it’s going to bring success in our life and we’re not just talking about financialist success you can go um as the scriptures say the rain falls on the just and the unjust time and chance happen everyone the Ecclesiastes says you can be a rich person and you’re so good at what you do and time and chance has happen to you and you use good principles to get what you are but you may not be successful in your spiritual.

▶ 3:40 Life you know the question is are you going to heaven right is your spirit alive is it dead and you can have both success in your natural life and in your spiritual life by applying his principles many people in the Bible were so we understand how important the scriptures are. Amen um I and I want to reiterate here this word brings us the man of God the woman of God whoever you are it brings us to. Completion he had talked about the author he was praying we heard that prayer earlier the author and the finisher of our faith the thing that does that is the word of God and Jesus through his word.

Can the world’s wisdom answer Jesus?

▶ Watch this part (4:35)

Short answer: No—God made foolish the wisdom of this world; Nicodemus received John 3:16, known by billions.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 4:35 Last week we learned that no one could say a word in reply to Jesus when they came and asked him questions and from that day no one dared ask him any more questions so we learned that in Christ’s time when he was on the earth the smart people the people that were ganging up uh they had their big questions and they got together in their synagogues and they’re like how can we test this guy’s knowledge and this is this is the stuff they came up with and we were talking about how they said who’s married to this woman right uh that was the what they came up with but today we have many smart people um you. Know the the big thinkers the ones that are thinking about the new theories on what we observe in the universe and in the galaxy and whatnot and I submit to you that if the smart people in the world that believe in science but no God that believe in you know what they observe but no God they if they were to meet Christ and ask their questions they too would be just as dumbfounded as these other men u it’s important to understand that Jesus was answering the question that they asked right and in our in our time if these smart people went up to Christ he would answer their questions.

▶ 6:04 1 Corinthians 1:20 where is the disputer of this age has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world we preach Christ crucified to greeks foolishness but to those who are called Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God uh the message seems. Foolish right believe on the Lord Jesus follow these commandments oh those rocks that the Moses wrote a long time ago what do I need that for you know all I have to do is turn on my uh atheistic voice right turn on my uh my woke. Voice we preach and it’s considered as foolishness but to those who are being saved it is the power of God amen and when you accepted Christ and you experience his word his power it is is the power of God God Jesus also met with Nicodemus in John 3:1 and Nicodemus came to him humbly he acknowledged Christ as being from God and was humble to him and Christ answered a question that he didn’t even ask and also Christ gave him the most famous scripture in the world as you can see this is John chapter 3 and you know the famous scripture is what John.

▶ 7:28 3:16 Nicodemus received that scripture and it’s known throughout the world billions of people know that scripture. Today we learn that there is power in the words of Christ when he said peace be still to the storm it was still amen when he told when the centurion said say the word he said the word and his sickness and his servant was healed there’s power in Christ’s words. It’s there’s power when you speak them to people that don’t know him that are that are sinning and such when they hear those words they’re so. Powerful and that’s why the word is so important as Psalms say the word his word has been exalted above his name.

Scripture (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 1:20-23 (NKJV)

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,

What happens when Scripture is twisted?

▶ Watch this part (8:20)

Short answer: Untaught and unstable people twist it to their own destruction.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 8:20 Christ prayed for Peter and this is important because as I was uh chatting with some people this week it’s so. Powerful when Christ prays for us my wife and I were talking about that can you imagine Christ praying for. Me and there’s power in his words right when he said peace be still the the storm was still and he prays for. Me gosh I want Christ praying for me don’t you. Amen second Peter chapter 3:16 going on to the rest of the word it says some of Paul’s writings are hard to understand so here Peter who is with Jesus right he was Jesus’s disciple and he says some of Paul’s writings are hard to.

▶ 9:19 Understand which untaught and unstable people they twist it to their own destruction so that’s how you know when something is. You know been twisted so much it’s causing destruction in your Christian walk you’re no longer uh shining his light you’re not an example amen because you’ve taken God’s word you’ve twisted it and it’s destroying your spiritual. Man as they do also the rest of the scriptures we don’t want to be people like that that uh purposely go to God’s word twist it and we try to twist the rest of the scriptures and try to get what we want out of it we’ve got to we’ve got to understand what its truths. Are Romans chapter 6:14 our question is what is twisted you can see the cup over there uh they put a little dye in it and affects all of the water if you put a little poison a little cyanide you know it affects the whole cup you don’t want to drink the cup.

▶ 10:31 Amen and so we can twist God’s word and it can affect the whole message that’s coming across for sin shall not have dominion over you you are not under law but under grace this statement is being is used a lot I’ve talked to many people outside of our our circles and they will say we’re not under law anymore and I said I would say we don’t have to follow the ten commandments thou shalt number like no you don’t you don’t do that because it’s the law you you follow it because of the spirit and you know I understand what he’s saying but still Jesus didn’t say he’s abolishing the ten commandments he fulfilled the commandments he fulfilled the law especially the ones that have to do with a shadow of things to come not murdering has nothing to do with a shadow it’s just don’t hurt people.

Are we saved by works?

▶ Watch this part (11:33)

Short answer: By grace through faith—yet created for good works, so let your light shine and be found blameless.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 11:33 Right and we’re going to get into that Ephesians 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith that not of yourselves it is a gift of God not of works lest any man should boast and this is all true these words are true but they’ve been. Twisted yes none of your works can get you into heaven it’s just not going to happen right but we have to balance it out on the other side and that’s what we’re going to do untwisted Hebrews chap 10 ver 24 let us consider one another in order to stir up love and what good works when we assemble together we come together to stir up one another to love and to good works and it’s an important reminder when we come together we’re not here to uh argue and fight about things we’re here to love one another to stir up one another to good works.

▶ 12:32 Amen. 5:116 Matthew 5:16 let your light so shine before men that they may see your say this with me good works and glorify your father in heaven so we want God wants people to see that you are different he wants people to see your life he wants people to see the good that you are doing the good that you’re doing in your family the good that you’re doing doing on the job the good that you’re doing when you are operating normal. Life Ephesians chapter 2:1 we are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works we have been created amen we’ve been created to do his good works he he made us he transformed us from people that are in sin or could have been living a life of sin to people that are created for doing his will we are his handiwork.

▶ 13:34 2 Peter 3:14 dil be dil be diligent to be found in by him in peace without spot and blameless and so Peter here in 3:14 just before he says that people twist the word he says that we should be found by him in peace without spot and blameless and yes you’re going to you’re going to sin and you’re going to make mistakes but the goal is up here right Christ wants us to set very high goals and expectations nothing wrong with that and if we do sin we have an advocate with the father you got to remember there’s balances I mean there’s balances all over the Scriptures okay if you mess up and you’re not blameless you can get forgiveness you can get that you can come before his throne ag great we have an advocate with the father Jesus Christ the righteous you can get in right relationship with God again and keep moving.

▶ 14:37 Forward remember the new covenant says that your sins and your iniquities I’ll remember no more ge God say is saying that to us okay when we make our mistakes you know my wife again was talking about a telling me about a man’s testimony how he walked away from uh gangs and he actually murdered people and and that’s a big thing to turn from and God can forgive you of that and treat you like it never happened in your life treat you like just like the person who’s been serving God all his life amen that’s how powerful our God is no matter what life you’ve lived he can bring you to a new position immed.

Should others judge us over food and days?

▶ Watch this part (15:30)

Short answer: No—those are shadows; religious people fussed over them while wanting to murder Jesus.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 15:30 Immediately. Amen. Powerful Colossians 2:16 therefore do not let anyone judge you I’m sorry did not preface. This so the scriptures confirm that we should do good works amen we don’t want to uh get twisted in that and I’ll confirm that later on there’s some other focuses that people will try to hone in on all right and God talks about talked to the uh Pharisees and the religious people he said you guys strain out a net and you swallow a camel you’re very extreme okay you try to make people follow all these little rules that you have you know they came to Jesus did you wash your hands before you. Ate you know it’s a Sabbath day your pe you’re your your people are you’re eating in the the weed in the field.

▶ 16:31 Like they’re getting upset about all these things but on the other side they wanted to murder. Jesus do you understand the hypocrisy do you understand the extremism they want them to follow these fringe things and they won’t follow the simple thing of don’t murder and don’t hate. Amen Colossians 21:16 do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink with regard to a religious religious festival a new moon or a Sabbath day these are a shadow of the things that were to come the reality however is found in Christ 1 Corinthians 8:8 food does not bring us near to God we are no worse if we do not eat and no better if we do Romans 14:17 for the king of God is not a matter of eating or drinking but righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit so here we have some dietary laws in the Bible amen there’s also dietary laws in other religions islam has dietary laws you can’t eat this you can’t eat that um vegetarians hindus are vegetarians you know I I work with a lot of people from india and it’s true you got the Jewish they wear their hair over here on the side you know uh the ladies we the hijab there’s a lot

▶ 18:01 of religions they’re doing a lot of things about what they eat what they don’t eat and uh Paul here is helping us understand it’s not about those things don’t make you spiritual okay that doesn’t make you spiritual because you ate something or or didn’t eat meat. Um now on the other side okay now you got to understand the balance to all this. Uh you know being severely overweight you’ve seen those guys that are 600 lb on videos and they just eat you know that’s not healthy for your body. Right and it’s you know that’s extreme. Right um that’s a wisdom principle if you want to be able to raise a family and get married you can’t be 600 lbs this just doesn’t work doesn’t make sense.

▶ 19:00 Right. Uh you know if you live that way it’s going to affect your body it’s going to shorten your lifespan that’s how it works and we know that smoking just like smoking it’s not a sin that leads to hell but it damages your lungs and your body so you’re not going to last as long amen you got to take in that wisdom. And then you have fasting fasting is a principle that is a spiritual principle for getting authority over the kingdom of darkness okay so that’s not what this is talking about this is talking about the dietary stuff that they think makes them spiritual but Jesus when that demon they couldn’t cast out that demon Jesus said this comes out by much what prayer and fasting and so fasting is an important principle to exercise in your spiritual walk with Christ and you don’t do it for everybody to see you do it between you and God your relationship with God amen uh as my my dad one of the scriptures I I I tell my wife all the time my dad had 10 scriptures that he quote to me all the time and one of them was what you do in secret he will reward you openly and so when you

▶ 20:30 fast when you pray you do it in secret and God will reward you on the outside. Openly back to the same scripture Colossians. 21:16 uh do not let any want judge you with regard to a religious festival a new moon celebration or a Sabbath day they are a shadow of the things that are to come so a picture of ramadan on the top uh they have a whole month almost where they will fast while the sun is up they’ll eat at night fast while the sun is up and they pray you know and that that’s a good exercise except you know islam is you know rejects Jesus that’s a problem but uh you know if Jesus is revealing and and coming in visions to muslim people and these people that are looking for God they find Christ.

▶ 21:28 And they exercise these things they’re they’re more um they’re used to exercising the spiritual things and they find Christ and it’s powerful it’s good but I don’t want to get into that on the bottom you have shabbat every Friday you have shabbat and the which is the Sabbath going into Saturday you have what do we know that it is in the bottom right that’s Christmas you don’t celebrate Christmas yeah how come you don’t celebrate Christmas you’re not a Christian if you don’t celebrate. Christians one person considers one day more sacred than another another considers every day alike each of them should be fully convinced in their own. Mind and that’s why we come together on Sunday it’s not the Sabbath it’s the first day of the week we come it’s the lord’s day we assemble and we give God praise and honor forsake not the assembling of yourselves together it’s not telling you on what day it’s telling you you forsake it not amen and we are fully convinced in our mind that coming together on a Sunday giving praise to God hearing his word will impact our lives at least I am and that’s why I’m.

▶ 22:45 Here so we can’t look down on other people because they don’t celebrate something or they do celebrate something all right we’ve got to be fully convinced and of course we want these things to be for the glory of God not for our own you know labor labor day has nothing to do with God amen it’s your day off go take your day off good for. You uh the second. Coming this is another thing that us Christians will divide over uh there’s a few um theories on the second coming premillennialism postmillennialism a millennialism pre- terrorism. Terrorize it uh futurism idealism dispensationalism pre-trib relation rapture post-trib and uh we may disagree on all these things we may disagree on how it things are going to unfold amen but the second coming uh is something that churches divide over and we shouldn’t this doesn’t lead to our destruction and I’m going to explain why.

Scripture (NKJV)

Colossians 2:16-17 (NKJV)

How do we get through the second coming?

▶ Watch this part (24:00)

Short answer: We must all appear before the judgment seat; God puts His mark on His saints.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 24:00 How do you get through the second. Coming how do you get through the second. Coming we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ right so the second coming at at one point we’re going to come before the judgment seat of Christ and we’re going to receive what is due us for the things we have done while in the body whether good or bad Luke 13:3 I tell you but unless you repent you will all likewise perish so we have to repent and we have to follow God’s word and that will translate through the second coming so no matter what you believe in the second coming however it unfolds if you’re serving God you’ve repented and you’re following him wholeheartedly you’re going to get through it just.

▶ 24:53 Fine. Amen because God is going to put put his mark on his saints and that mark is what’s going. To uh separate you and he’s already put a mark on you if you’re serving him and following him you already have a mark on you. Amen and you’re going to make it through just fine but it will be a wonderful thing to experience don’t you think are going to see the sky change the the stars going to look every you know it’s going to be like whoa what is happening quite quite a story and they’re not even going to have time to make a movie about it. Because it’s just going to unfold they’re going to be like and it’s all going to be.

2 Corinthians 5:10 (NKJV)

What should our focus be?

▶ Watch this part (25:52)

Short answer: Love God with all your heart and love people—Eli’s sons and Joseph show sin against God and others.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 25:52 Gone so what should our focus be going back to the word Jesus Christ and Mark 12:30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul with all your mind your strength this is the first and greatest commandment the second is like it love your neighbor as. Yourself and Jesus adds in John 13:35 and he says this by this all people will know that you’re my disciples if you have love for one another so love is a powerful thing and it should be our focus focus how do we love God how can I love God we had an opportunity this morning to show God love and that is to use your words you know when you talk to your children when you talk to your wife a way to show them love or speak love is to speak what good words you don’t bring them down you don’t uh say that they’re worthless you know and you don’t come into God’s house doing that.

▶ 26:56 Amen and God Jesus Christ has really done a work throughout history and in your life in our lives today that we can be thankful for he deserves our highest. Praise so I encourage you above not only overcoming and not only overcoming the kingdom of darkness but also to show God that you love him when you walk through that door we should come in worshiping him and exercise ing those ways they did in the Bible to worship him amen oh come let us worship and bow down let us kneel before the Lord our maker it’s important for us to. Respond uh and we’ll talk about more ways in just a moment loving your neighbor as yourself your neighbor people that that are close to you you have your family every day they they’re your neighbor your children your spouse house uh your parents.

▶ 28:01 Family how do we treat one another and we know that not everybody has made a choice to follow Christ so you still got to treat each other with love but you can’t go along with wrong and sin. Right and then also how do you treat uh the rest of the world around you and then the big big kicker here Jesus is uh pointing out do we have love for one another when we come into the God’s house are we loving each other very important so not loving God in the scriptures we have some examples in 1st Samuel 2:25 if a man sins against the Lord who will intercede for.

▶ 28:54 Him uh you know you may sin against your brother and somebody can intercede or God can help with that situation but you sin against God who is going to intercede for. You you know you sin against Christ who’s going to intercede for. You first Samuel 21:17 the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord for men uphor the offering of the Lord so what we have here is hoffy and phineas they were sons of eli and they were priests in the Old Testament in in Samuel here this is Old Testament and they uphor the offering they used it to uh get what they wanted out of the people that brought in their sacrifices so people would bring in their goat their their their their cattle and uh they wouldn’t follow.

▶ 29:50 The what the Old Testament said to do in getting their portion out they just said I’ll take what I want give me the tri chip riye that’s mine you know I want the best cut I don’t know what you’re doing get out of here you know they used it to get what they wanted and they use God’s process to get what they wanted that’s not right and that’s what he’s saying they appor the offering of the Lord the offering of the Lord is not about you it’s not about the pastor priest it’s about. God and you know when you come into God’s house I don’t get to put on some weight on you like you should have been offering you know you need to offer toward the the latest project that I’m working on or the my house that’s a million dollars you need to give more offerings so I can get that done you know I got plans.

▶ 30:45 Right 1st Samuel 22:22 how they lay with the women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle of meeting you know they just they use their position to. Uh abuse women that’s. Wrong and I got a picture of a guy who did the same thing right here he used his position. To get in bed with girls or ladies. Whatever obviously that’s wrong and um you’re not just sinning and hurting the person you are sinning against God because you’re using your position that he gave you and you’re abusing it that’s wrong for I hear of your evil dealings from all the people so you don’t want to.

▶ 31:37 Be uh mistreating God. Amen Genesis 39:9 Joseph when Potiphar’s wife wanted to lie with him came up and said lie with me you know I want to I’m tired of potier I want to be with you and Joseph said how can I do this great wickedness and sin against who God he didn’t have the law you got to remember Joseph did not have the law he was before. Moses he didn’t have the law he didn’t have everything but he knew that doing that was a sin against. God and you got to remember you have a conscience and you need to hear what it says and Joseph was listening to his conscience he had the spirit of God in him and the question is do you amen Psalm 7819 can God prepare a table in the wilderness the Lord heard this and was furious so the people Israel people they were traveling through the wilderness they didn’t like the uncomfortability and sometimes we’re not comfortable right things aren’t always comfortable and when we say to God are you what’s wrong with you God.

▶ 32:59 You got no power you got no strength you can’t even do this in my life you know I don’t know why I’m serving you I don’t know what this the point is between of your Bible what am I serving you for you can’t even give me the ribeye that I. Want you know I named it I claimed it I blabbed it I grabbed it. Where is it. God you got to be careful Malachi ch 3:8 you have robbed me in tithes and offerings you got to remember you know when God’s you know talking about the tithes and offerings he’s this is his request and so when we don’t give to God’s house we’re not giving to him.

How are God’s children manifest?

▶ Watch this part (34:01)

Short answer: By practicing righteousness and love—providing for your household and keeping the commandments.

From the sermonTranscript of this part · Michael Silla

▶ 34:01 Not loving. People so you can just look at the six of the ten. Commandments um bearing false witness or lying sexual immorality committing adultery you know Hebrews 12 explains that very clearly marriage is honorable right and the marriage at bed undefiled so sex in the marriage is good but outside of that it’s sin disobeying parents honor your father right that’s one of the 10 commandments thou shalt not murder thou shalt not commit idolatry yeah idolatry and violence oh murder violence same. Thing and also the Sabbath we were talking about the sabath Sabbath earlier but part of the commandment is six days shall you work it’s very important for usr Christians to work and I applaud you for those young people that are making strides and and getting a job and getting all these projects in their life going putting a big effort out there it’s it’s a really uh strong principle that God has and that we should be.

▶ 35:15 Following if anyone does not provide for his own especially for those of his old household he has denied the faith is worse than an unbeliever we got to provide that food that clothing shelter medical for our family and it’s it’s getting hard it’s hard in this state I tell you you know and I’ve got a a pretty cush job and it’s still hard it’s not easy so uh you know we got to put our best effort out there I tell you. What Proverbs 6:32 whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding he does so he who does so destroys his own own soul wounds and dishonor he will get uh we don’t want to get involved with those things remember us guys and us and the ladies I can’t say us ladies but us guys and us l and the ladies you know we have a natural desire that God put in us for the opposite sex right and we we desire one another so we’ve got to uh find a solution for that and God’s solution is marriage believe it or not so get on the track of getting married get on track uh in your life become independent uh get on track to be able to support a family amen that’s that’s your goal.

▶ 36:45 1 John 3:10 in this the children of God and the children of Devil are manifest whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God nor is he who does not love his brother I saw this picture here of Moses and he said I posted them on facebook and they didn’t get any likes pretty. Funny Galatians chapter 5:14 for all the law is fulfilled in one word even this you shall love your neighbor as yourself Romans chapter 13:10 at the bottom love does no harm to a neighbor therefore love is the fulfillment of the law so it’s important for us to follow the law okay that’s what this is confirming not you’re you know Paul said we’re not under law he’s not talking about this law we’re still under law okay John the baptist he said to Herod it is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife and he said that to somebody who wasn’t even a Jew.

▶ 38:00 We are all responsible to follow the law and the way that we can do that is to what what’s that big word four-letter. Word. Love and Romans makes it very simple do no harm to your neighbor we can do a lot of harm to our children we can do a lot of harm to our family. By desiring what we want hurting one another by the words we choose by uh the way we treat one. Another we can be very harmful and we have a responsibility to love one another. We want to take some time this morning as usual to take some time for our God to respond to his word to hear what he has to say to us amen.

Scripture in this part

Scripture (NKJV)

Psalm 34 (NKJV)

I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
